@GhostAdjutant

Your codename is Delta Phoenix. You were once a ghost of the Terran Dominion. AFter Arcturus Mengsk died and Korhal fell you defected from the Dominion. Now you fight for freedom and attempt to unify the fringes against a coming Zerg threat. The Dominion continues to hunt you, as do criminals and bounty hunters.

Your task is impossible - and that's optimistic. The fringes are spiraling into civil war, losing planets to the Zerg and Protoss, and the Dominion is preparing it's ships to reclaim the worlds for the crumbling empire. Even with your skilled crew you're starting to doubt your mission is even possible. But you still have to try.

Your ship, the Daluke, is orbiting Jungle World XTYU003 where you are establishing a mining base. You're in the living quarters, training with Charlie in CQC, at her request.

>"You keep leaving your midsection open. A few good jabs and you'd be down for the count. Let's try it again."

>"If it's so open, how come I keep beating you, huh Dee?"

You raise your arms. One of the few times you've been without your suit since Umoja. Left hook, right hook, block, swing low. You're faster than she is. Stronger. You feel like this has always been the case. But she dodges you fairly well.

>"C'mon, Dee. Stop holding back!"

She hits your nose. You feel it start to bleed. You take a kidney shot on her, then grab one arm and twist her around to the ground. You place your knee square on her back and hold her down in that position.

>"Alright! Alright! Uncle!"

You're not sure why but you keep her there. You're furious about your nose. You increase the pressure, pushing down on her back with your knee and pulling her arm back. Harder and harder.

>"Dee! Get off! You're hurting me!"

You don't care. This is what you do. This is what you are.

You bring your other leg in and break her arm at the elbow.

You wake up in a cold sweat. The sound of breaking bone and Charlie's scream still echos in your ear. The room is completely dark, but the lights turn on as your Adjutant reads you're awake.

>"Good Morning, Commander. Deployment to the planet's surface is complete. We can proceed to our next location at your leisure."

You rub your nose, it still feels like it hurts for some reason. You step up and head for the showers.

Just a dream. Nothing to get too worked up about.

You glance to the Ultralisk tooth hanging from your bedside lamp.

Just a dream.
>>
>>26342792
>Just a dream.

hahahaha sure

we are totally getting off the drugs
>>
>>26342792
I'm...considering going off the drugs too. If it's gonna risk our crew, they're not worth it anymore...

Also, how does the base look? Can I get some specs maybe?
>>
>>26342833
> If it's gonna risk our crew, they're not worth it anymore...

consider the fact that our 'rage' makes us lose control of ourselves, thats reason enough to get off them immediately
>>
>>26342833
It's 1 CC and 5 SCVs at the moment, standard deployment, Commander.

Marines and defenses will be operational by day's end. There is no need to be concerned.
>>
>>26342792
>You glance to the Ultralisk tooth hanging from your bedside lamp.
>Just a dream.

Yeah, when you hang around and train with scary protoss, you take dreams seriously, and these dreams are saying its time to get off the drugs
>>
>>26342855
Ah alright then.
This is the base with the Protoss Mothership on it, right? Should we leave the base to collect samples, or shall we go gather them ourselves?

If that's the wrong planet then ignore that, I suppose. Let's bring up the starmap.
>>
unfortunately getting off the drugs won't solve the rage problem.
>>
>>26342884
Negative, Commander. New Ares has mothership wreckage. This planet has inert Protoss ruins. It is where you originally met Kassix.

>>
>>26342887
Indeed, but it will stop em from getting worse I think. Also, that advanced Rage inhibitor we asked Mac for is probably gonna be useful in the future...

not to the fucking schizophrenic ghost in command
>>

You step out from the room, your Cirus-suit comfortably shielding you from the world again, the HUD displaying all the information you need. The main screen of your living quarters displays one call waiting. Dr. Nelhav.

>"Adjutant, answer her call."

>"Commandah. I... believe I have some interesting news. Zee samples we recovered from the Leviathan show some interesting chemical compounds. I believe the Zerg haff found a way to counteract zee effects of Terrazine. Viff zee additional samples from the infestor we recovered from the Yelon it seems zat zee local Zerg broods are experimenting on their psionic breeds."

You end the call and order your Adjutant to bring up the star map.

The Dropship is away. The station comes into view. The original station, little more than a monitoring post, has been upgraded over the years. The salvaged bodies of battlecruisers, science vessels, and other stations have been hastily welded together into a large hulk of space debris that can loosely be called a station.

The Medivac lands in one of the bays and your crew disembarks, followed by the pilot. Several armed men and one man in an old confederate wraith jacket enter the repressurizing room. The man lights a cigar before he begins talking.

>"You know what happens to you when you're shot out of an Airlock? It starts out slow. The air in your lungs is ripped out by the vacuum. The only thing you can do is exhale so it doesn't kill you instantly by ripping the air out of you violently. The human body is mostly water - and that water begins to evaporate instantly. Your eyes and mouth begin to boil. The water in your organs and muscles does the same thing and they begin to swell. Then you get the bends. Decompression sickness. Incredible pain as your body is filled with nitrogen bubbles, rashes, and paralysis. If you're lucky this will kill you. Most people aren't this lucky."

The man exhales, letting a cloud of smoke from the sides of his mouth, before he continues.

>"Direct exposure to that blue giant we're orbiting will give you full body third degree burns in no time flat. In the vacuum, you don't lose that heat. Nowhere for it to go. You start to roast in your own skin. You'll live with that for about ten seconds. That's when asphyxiation sets in. Your lungs aren't designed for space and they start dumping oxygen into it the first chance they get. Your vision will be gone. You won't be able to think. In a few more painful seconds you will lose conciousness. You'll still be 'alive' for about two minutes, but you won't know it. You're as good as dead because no one here gives enough of a fuck to rescue you. You'll be a bloated blue corpse floating around my station with the others."

The man tosses the cigar to the floor of the station and steps on it. The thick end crunches loudly under his toes.

>"Don't fuck with me. Don't fuck with my station."

They turn and leave you, as suddenly as they came. After a few seconds the first person to break the silence is your pilot.

>"Nyuah-huh, Smashing! I'll set up to take off all post-hastly since that might be needed now, won't it?"

You dot the I's and cross the T's with the seedy, toad-like black market dealer. The Schematics upload to your ship and they'll be available for you to use. Hopefully they'll help you out of the coming fights in one piece.

It's when you're about finished you see an adjutant model with extremely fast processors and huuuuge hard drives. You turn to the man to ask:

>"How much for your Adju-"
>"Daluke Actual to Ground Team, come in."
You sign and answer the radio.
>"Delta Phoenix, go ahead."
>"Sir, we've just had Quanah escape from the brig. She's hijacked the Black Earl and they're making for the station. I'm forwarding coordinates."

The docking bay isn't far away, and it's likely she's looking to escape into the station. You won't find her again if she manages to disappear.

Aw man Adjutant, why can't you have harddrives like that Adjutant? They're practically busting out of her chassis

Either way is likely to result the same, Commander.

Alternatively, you could just let her go.
>>
>>26345752
I vote we let her go, unless she stole something then. Really would rather not piss off the station of black market pirates
>>

lets ask Enrique's opinion on the matter, also, did she escape with his kid or is she by herself?

Oh, I see how it is, Commander.

It's not like I've saved your life constantly or anything.

Not like you owe all your success to a certain helper A.I.

No it's just about how big her hard-drives are and her chassis measurements.
>>
>>26345656
She probably has the kid with them. I vote intercept.
>>
>>26345791
Enrique's Son is at our base on Murric.

She has stolen the dropship, but it is likely she will leave it to be recovered as she does not want us to track her down.
>>
>>26345656
We don't want to have one of our fighters roll a one and accidentally put a round through the dropship. I vote for the ground team. She's got nowhere to go, doesn't she?

>>
... hmm alright, how about we message her then. "I'm sorry you found our hospitality lacking, I wish you the best and if you ever need anything don't forget to write. "

Honestly keeping her around isn't the best idea. We had no idea what do with her anyway.
>>
>>26345812
in that case I vote for letting her go, but if possible send her a message to not cause trouble or otherwise attract our attention, that would not be good for her health

>"All units, stand down. We can't afford to engage the wrong people here."

You watch the ship on your HUD, and are surprised when you find...She's not alone on the ship.

>"XO, who else is on that dropship?"
>"Not sure, sir. Putting video feed up to your helmet."

You would recognize that reaper anywhere. You'd thought he was dead when you left him on that abandoned Dominion research station.

>"... James Raven."

Charlie corrects you.

>"-Captain- James Raven. Seems he came back for the ship and made a friend."

You realize too late that the Black Earl's back in it's previous owner's hands. The ship makes it's warp jump.

At least you have Medivac schematics. Maybe. You really need to do your own shopping and stop letting the Adjutant be in charge of that.

>"She will be back, SeƱorita. That woman is as vicious as any shark. I fear my son may now be in danger."

Bound to be a green marine somewhere who let him on board on accident. These mistakes happen, no one's at fault, that's the only thing I know for sure."

With the new Adjutant model loaded on the dropship, your team makes for the Daluke. The station will still have any schematics you didn't purchase, as well as mercenaries if you decide you need them.

That is assuming nothing happens to it between now and then.

((I'm going to end the thread here, because I need to sleep. I'll start tomorrow's thread earlier so it can go on longer. No idea what time yet so watch the twitter.))

>>

good night Adjy, maybe we can start next thread browsing the available mercenaries and get a list of what we bought/available fund etc
