I had a thought last night. We teach the houndsmen mounted archery, and we become insect-Mongols
>>
alright.
scientists work on language.
warriors try armoring yourselves with leather while you wait
homeguard and alchemists work on smelting ore.
fishermen fish. for whale, then spawn pool.
hunters keep hunting
farmers farm
scavengers search the shoreline
scouts and hounds go north
workers keep hauling
did I miss anyone?

Maybe have Hunters work on traps and hunting. Also, make sure to keep Mikey away from everything important, I think he's cursed, all our rolls have been shit since we fed the zombie to him

The Observers (95) figure out rudimentary symbols. They get to work writing them down in the dirt and introduce each caste present by drawing pictures of them and putting symbols next to them.

The warriors use this opportunity to raid the elf barracks for unused leather armor. Using their graspers and mandibles, they figure out how to cut it up and strap it to themselves. (Discovered leather armor)

The homegard and alchemists try working on smelting shinies. They try using the hearth but it doesn't seem suitable. There is no place to store the excess liquid and it gets all over some of our brethren. 8 Alchemists and 2 homeguard die. Mikey, ends up being covered in liquid iron. He runs around screaming in pain until he lands in the whale pool. This cools him off but he can't swim. Fortunately for him, the whale throws him out. (Mikey can no longer fly, but is super damage resistant).

/t fishermen still don't catch much. The Whale is hungry.

The hunters manage a very small catch. This isn't enough.

The farmers can't seem to manage anything this turn.

The scavengers search the shoreline, but they don't see anything of importance.

The scouts and thw Wolf Brigade venture further north where they find a huge castle with surfs tending the farm. Could this be the main part of the elven kingdom?

The workers manage to haul the stones to the elf village. They are marked as workers by the Observers and manage to get over to the other wall where they start building some real fortifications.

So can we communicate with the elves or What?

Somewhat. You can't learn the whole language in a single turn, but you do manage to be able to write some things like soldier, stop, attack, and other stuff. You can somewhat talk but not enough to really understand each other

I'm willing to sacrifice the whale to feed our people.
Also what race are the serfs we found at the castle?
>>
>>26332686
Well, we do have to warn them about the undead.

Also, I'm all for devouring the whale if it means saving our hive. We can get more later, and I'd rather have insect submarine Squids/Krakens rather than insect boats. Besides, for boats we can probably copy someone else, or just get fish-bugs.

If the Houndsman are back, I'd like them to try to learn mounted archery, because if it worked for the Mongols it can work for us. Also we should use Mikey as a siege weapon against the undead. Set him on fire, hand him some torches and just let him run wild through the ranks of the undead.
>>

Mikey's getting a taste for undead

okay. what, precisely, do we need to learn to get rid of the pelt prompt?

Mickey the hero of the swarm

GO MIKEY! He shall become a CHAMPION warrior! I vote to have him be tutored in the ways of battle!

Have the Workers construct a Forge, where we can shape this liquid metal... We see that it becomes shapeable when hot, and solid when cool. We should construct molds or prepare some way to shape the metal into weapons.
>>
Hunters: Hunt more do good
Fishermen: Fish for the hive not the whale
Observer: Continue to learn Elven
Warriors: Teach Mikey how to combat
Scouts: Check out the Serfs
Houndsmen: Practice Archery on the Wolf Mounts
Workers: Build fortifications
Farmers: Do what you do
Homeguard and Alchemists: Make a forge.
Scavengers: Help Workers??

Sound good to everyone?
>>
>>26332938
Sounds good to me by the way are we going to make Mickey a name like the arbiter from halo ?

As of now, I'm not sure whether we're calling a cursed fuck up or a siege weapon

>>

the queen demands only one thing of her subjects. Success. In all we do, thrive. Occasional failure is a thing that can be forgiven by consultation with the priest caste, but true failure lands the culprit in jeopardy of his soul. He loses the queens blessing. Is an unperson. His only task is to take the work that no person should or could do and re earn his way back into the cycle... or be forever cast from the queens love.

The hunters still don't bring back enough food.

The fishermen (97) Manage to get the biggest haul of fish that they have ever seen by planting boards along the river going down the mountain which catches tons of fish. Both the whale and the hive are fed this turn. (also +5) to fishing.

The Observers manage to place more symbols together. They can now create simple messages (messages are one sentence of combined words like "We defend you". You still can't negotiate trade or anything of the sort very well.

Mikey tries to go over to the warriors trench but he can't move very far.

The serfs seem to be elves, but that's all that the scouts learn.

The scouts practice archery on wolf mounts. They can fire a bow, but not while moving.

The workers begin placing stones, but the elven defenses seem to be getting in the way.

The farmers manage to till the land very well and more stuff grows. They figure out how to geneticly modify crops to be somewhat larger.

The Homeguarde and Alchemists build a huge forge out of the hearth It is possible to turn shinies into liquid shinies, yet there is no real way to contain the liquid yet. Mikey (new one) tries to make the stuff stronger by throwing some strongberries in. It doesn't help.
>>
>>26333536
The scavengers manage to help the workers by chopping down some of the elf fortifications to be replaced with some sturdy stone.

So we have the fighting mickey trying to learn to fight
and the fire mickey who just fucked up then fantastic
>>
>>26333677
Fighting Mikey ate the undead, and got burned horribly by the fire.
New Mikey just sucks.

I think we should do what we just did again except this time keep new Mikey in the pit for a turn, like OG Mikey and post Mikey near the sign as a warning for when the undead get near
>>
>>26333716
I concur we should continue along our current plan of action
>>
>>26333716
You know, that undead is probably stinking up the joint. Also new Mikey is going to eat part of him too
>>

Hunters: Hunt more do good
Fishermen: Fish for the hive not the whale
Observer: Give Elves a Message that says: We defend you
Warriors: Prepare to fight Undead
Scouts: Check out the Serfs
Houndsmen: Practice Archery on the Wolf Mounts
Workers: Build fortifications
Farmers: Do what you do
Homeguard and Alchemists: Try Weaponizing Fire again, it'll do good against the undead
Scavengers: Give Elven defenses back to them

It worked well last time, just change a couple of things
>>
>>26333764

combine mikeys into redemption corps for ease of use. use for unethical experiment and suicide missions.

Also Our Warriors have Javelins and Bows right? Do we need to make more arrows for them or do we have a good number?
>>
>>26334006
You have a relatively good number. The bows and Javelins are just preliminary assault weapons. The best you can get off is one or two volleys before your units rush into mele.
>>
>>26334071
I remember we looked at the elve's swords did we ever try to recreate those?

>>
>>26334170
I feel silly. I'm now trying to imagine us trying to make swords out of wood and troll body parts and realizing that we probably need to use the shinys
>>
>>26334244
Don't feel to bad still better to beat someone with a stick then punch them right?
>>
>>26333784
Your hunters go into the plains and catch possums, rats, deer, and various other animals.

Your fishermen develop line fishing where a set of bait is placed on a hook. They manage to get a tonne of fish to feed both the hive and the whale.

The Observers give the elves the message. The warriors will be able to fall back should the trenches be overrun.

The warriors make a few more preparations for undead. Mainly some potholes for them to trip over.

Your scouts are scaring the serfs by checking on them too closly ... namely, Mikey who tries to steal some of their crops.

The Wolf Brigade perfects mounted archery with an invention they call the composite bow (can now fire on the run).

The workers start building some fortifications they manage to get a few walls up.

The farmers farm harder than ever. A huge growth in fungus and various other plant production can be seen (the hive is well fed for now).

The Homeguard and Alchemists (both in the 80's) weaponize fire to the extent that not only can we use flaming arrows and Javelins, we have discovered a plant oil that burns very well.

Mickey#2 omnomnoms on that undead elf. He seems to like the taste.

The scavengers try to give the elves their defenses back. About 42% of it is still usable.
>>
>>26334320
I actually prefer punching, but I don't think we have meaty enough graspers for it to work out

Here's some mutations for each caste to consider, down the road. These are not suggestions for now.

Hunters: Web-spinners for catching prey. Pheremone glands for attracting prey.
Fishermen: Better limbs for swimming. Mouths for drilling (bore through ships and thick sea-beast hides). Sonar.
Observer: Better eyes. Better brains. Better hands.
Warriors: Better hands. Moar Natural Armor. Moar Natural Weapons. Fireproofing. Burst into flame on death.
Scouts: Active camouflage (think chameleons), high-speed limbs.
Houndsmen: Extra limbs to hold additional weaponry, a second set of alternate-track eyes so two bows can be aimed and fired at once.
Workers: More strength, more speed, more acid, built-in carrying capacity.
Farmers: pollination, photosynthesizing skin (to cut down on production cost) and burrowing ability, to save us time re-plowing fields.
Homeguard: Fireproofing. Long-range vision. Built-in armor.
Alchemists: Fireproofing. Poisonproofing. Bigger brains.
Scavengers: Better hands. Built-in carrying capacity. Better strength.
>>
>>26335325
Oh. and why aren't priests listed? Just because they haven't been active doesn't mean they aren't a caste. same with geneweavers.

Priests: Subqueens
Geneweavers: Better geneweaving
>>
>>26335325
Sounds pretty good.

But at some point we should probably begin to diverge the observers into the mimics caste. The observers would still exist, and mimics would basically be a human-looking version of them.
>>
>>26335359
Geneweavers should specialized into Abathur.

The subqueens I don't know... our population is slightly outstripping our capacity to grow food... I think we just produce a new queen and tell her to go set up a new hive.

What the priests should be is cultural enforcers. I'd mutate their loyalty to the founding queen. They should be fanatics.
>>
>>26335359
I almost completely forgot about the Priests.
>>26335370
After Undead War could probably manage it fairly easy. During the Chaos we can "rescue" some of the elves under attack and bring them back to the hive, FOR GLORIOUS SCIENCE!!
>>
>>26335403
After we get bug navy set up we could send the sub queens across the sea
>>

>>26335737

hence why the priest caste is becoming the subqueens.
>>
>>26334599
The hunters don't have a good hunt this time around.

The fishermen learn trolling and catch much more food. The hive and whale are both well fed and there's some left over to start repopulating the spawning pools.

The Observers examine the mysterious hide. They've never seen the animal that this pelt belongs to. It's huge and covered in wool.

Anyway, something came up and I'll be gone for about 30 min to an hour (skunk in the window well).

I'll pick this up when I can

The warriors try to help the elves. Mikey puts their defenses on backwards. The elves seem a little upset but they know we mean well.

The scouts go into the swampland but they don't see anything. Where the hell are the undead?!

The houndsmen can't seem to hit moving targets well.

The workers build up the city's fortifications. The city is much harder to destroy now.

The farmers don't do very well this time.

The Homeguard and Alchemists try to make a few molds, but they don't really know what to make molds of.

The scavengers find clay alongside the riverbank.

Okay.

Hunters: Hunt moar. Set Traps.
Fishermen: Fish moar.
Observer: knowing about melee weapons, having seen the ones the elves had, think about what would be a practical shape for our uses.
Warriors: ??
Scouts: Track the missing undead. Figure out which way they've gone.
Houndsmen: Practice Archery on the Wolf Mounts
Workers: Start digging a new colony down near the shore area, staying above sea-level
Farmers: Do what you do
Homeguard: Try to make sturdier versions of the javelin (Non-Throwing Spears Development)
Alchemists: Make clay molds of armor plates, as figured out earlier (wood and stone armor designs) and observed elfin equivalents.
Scavengers: If coast clear, search battlefields for equipment.

I finally rolled low enough for the undead to attack the town.

A large mass of undead are approaching from the west. The elves hand a missive off to two people who ride north and south of the town. The elves mount their newly formed walls and begin the defense of the city. warriors, scouts, and workers are the only ones present this turn and the only ones acting besides the elves.
>>
Future caste ideas to work towards

Once observers can speak, split into Science and Diplomacy. Science keeps work as normal. Research and Development. Diplomacy works toward the Mimic spec. And in addition to taking on the appearance of other races, i'd like to consider having them be able to carry around a smaller (VERY small) other caste we'll be working on... that being the mind-control parasites.
Scouts, once we get active camou, might want to take a few of their number and train them with the diplomatic corps (that is, get the appearance-imitation stuff, as well) and be the spy corps. Give them wall-climbing and similar.
FIshermen need to work towards getting some sea-faring capability and then steal some warrior caste training to make a navy to supplement fishermen.

>>26337769
The costs are 8 points per rank

>>
An important thing to keep in mind here, folks. We're technologically retarded compared to the elves. We have a ton of catching up to do and they've got a lot more real-estate, too. We need to grab EVERY opportunity to take advantage. Do not send the wolves in, until we observe them having mounted combat. No need to lose our few advantages.
>>
>>26337959
That does make sense.
>>
>>26337959
Agreed. Though they have the advantage now, we are advancing at a breakneck speed.
>>26337955

>>26337794
And what is that from anyways?
>>
Also they sent runners to the North and South, We know about the elves in the North being feudal, but what about the ones to the South? Just something to keep in mind for the future.
>>
>>26337999
Exactly. We can catch up, and take them up, if we don't help them along. We need to learn as much as we can, and share as little as we can. Keep them thinking we're nice, kind primitives, and help them, and WATCH. It's better to be silent and look stupid than be noisy and confirm your stupidity. Once we've got some basic technology and learn melee combat we'll be able to catch their heels and surpass. Especially once we've got hivemind. Hivemind means we've ALWAYS got a tactical advantage.

The warriors sound off for the Workers to escape before they fire their first volley into the wave of undead.

The elves follow suit launching a hail of arrows into the front lines of the undead.

Some of the scouts try to work their way in to retrieve some weapons and other things. They manage to return a few Javalins before one of the scouts got cordoned off. They could see zombies hacking its legs off before landing the killing blow.

Next round, the observer gets a chance.

The warriors and elves let out another volley. A hail of javelins and arrows stick a few zombies to the ground, but the undead were prepared for a ranged fight. A set of skeletons rush onto the field. Our arrows are ineffective. Many of them bounce off and a few javelins seem to work when they hit.

Our scouts attempt to steal some undead weapons and manage to get a hold of them, but are cut off from escape. A horde of undead are surrounding them.

Armored Mikey rushes into battle in an attempt to free the scouts. He knocks one of the undead out of the way, but doesn't accomplish much because he's too slow.

The elves launch a heap of bombs at the undead as well as a volley of arrows. The Observer deems this to be some kind of catapult.

Many of our warriors die in the bombardment as well as from deflecting a cannon ball that was fired by the undead (Mikey did it at the cost of his life). Most of the warriors were killed in a death cloud fired by the litch. The undead set their sights on the elven city.

Okay, then, folks. Everyone back in the hole. Nobody shows their fucking face. The entrance the elves saw gets destroyed. New one is built as soon as we know how to disguise an entrance.

Damn.

We need to start spraying acid or something. This game just turned south.
Or find allies. Or make a new hive somewhere. We might just have to book it.
>>
>>26340291
Also, with as poorly as we fought, the undead don't have reason to believe that we're sentient which really lucks out for you guys.

We're not playing with strangers anymore. No more exploring, no more head above surface.

OP, just a question since you seem to be good at gming civ threads. What advice/steps would you give someone to run their own civ thread in general? Like how do you plan, what do you stat, and what do you roll for?
>>
>>26340344
Not until we get some serious armor on our soldiers. And I'm not just talking mecha.

Hey, maybe we could start digging underneath the land between our territory and the soon to be undead city? And when their cannons start rolling in, we collapse the whole thing.

Everything has to cater to the race and the style of role play. For example, insects have mutations and elves have magic. Both of these things affect how technology will develop when compared to other races. Elves will almost always try and find a magical implication for their technology whereas insects might have a more loose idea of technology where they might tend to develop technique over simple items. The best way to do this is to factor in probability with that role play. They may be more predisposed to coming up with a technique so you factor both options into a dice roll which will add some randomness, yet a distinct way to play the race.

Honestly though, the role play aspect tends to be the most interesting part so it helps to be able to spur people into that aspect. For this thread, it was our government which made for a great way of thinking about the decisions that the hive would make.
>>
>>26340506
Chalk it up to inexperience. Maybe we should train to escape from such situations from now on.
>>
>>26340542
> For this thread, it was our government which made for a great way of thinking about the decisions that the hive would make.
Why are you saying that in past tense?
>>
>>26340440
We haven't been surrounded
>>
So, are we trying just once more to save people or are we booking it?

The zombies are slow and the elves are still fighting.

Hunters: Get inside. Set Traps around Entrance.
Fishermen: One last fishing trip, throw all in spawning pool. Then stay inside until we can hustle you down to the new port city.
Observer: Figure out everything we can about all the things we saw in the combat.
Warriors: DEAD
Scouts: DEAD
Houndsmen: Get inside. Practice silent riding.
Scavengers: Help the workers haul away stuff, so they can keep digging.

I'd be down with this
>>
>>26339023

Uh... right there?

Scout's instructions were to get away. But they couldn't. Because a horde of undead were surrounding them.
>>
>>26340569
The major success was built on what was originally created in the first thread. Insects were interesting on their own but mix in theology and things just turned awesome.

The warriors and scouts were surrounded mostly due to numbers of the undead and their tasks (which they under performed in).
>>
>>26340674

Still makes no sense. Scouts have wings, they should have been able to get away.

Warriors only came for the scouts. If the scouts flew away, then they wouldn't have gone in.

Hmmm... interesting... let us hope it arrives in time.
We shall prepare warriors to aid this as of yet absent reinforcements. But for now we shall focus on defense and place a few scouts to observe the undead city, no doubt filled with debauchery.

The hunters try to set traps, but they don't know what would work on the undead.

The fishermen don't manage to get much but they throw it into the spawning pool. The whale groans out of hunger.

The observers figure out that the undead are very slow, but make up for it in sheer numbers. They also figure out that the elves are probably as dedicated as we are.

The hounds practice riding silently by covering the wolves feet with wet herbs. It seems to work a bit.

The workers head out and begin digging a colony out near the ocean. They develop fast twitch motion to move the earth there much more quickly since it's much less solid than out mountain.

The farmers grow a giant tomato. They managed to alter the genes of plants to be pretty damn big. The hive might not go hungry for a while.

The Homeguard manage to make halbards out of stone. They're a little unwieldy, but they make for a nice mele weapon.

The alchemists develop various clay molds to craft armor out of. They seem to fit us perfectly.

The scavengers manage to bump into the elves who were fleeing from their city.

The final Mikey runs into a few undead who were chasing the elves. The wraiths attack Mikey and wound him pretty badly. Yeah, Mikey doesn't return.

The scavengers dig out many rooms for the elves.

The houndmasters find the undead and start a fight. The wraiths catch up to them right away. The houndmasters bite through the wraiths weapons causing them to be inhibited. It appears that only the acid harms the wraiths. Another attack gits the wraiths pretty hard. They begin retreating. The houndmasters try to capture a fleeing wraith, but most of them disappear. The only wraith that seemed caught died in the acidic jaws of the Houndmasters.

The farmers try to teach the elves how to farm, but the elves can't understand dubstep.

The observers manage to learn about the elves escape and the raising of the city.

The homeguard affix some battle stations and get ready for another undead assault.

The workers manage to hollow out some more land for the second hive. The hunters get over to protect them but the area is safe.

>Observer: Observe condition of elves (Are they happy? What might they need, besides a hug and obedience to the queen?)
>Houndsmen: Scout beaches north of new nest
>Workers: Finish new hive, prepare egg laying chambers
>Farmers: farm
>Homeguard: defend
>Alchemists: prepare medicines for elves, try to bandage wounded
>Scavengers: complete elvish quarter (if that's done, then scavenge southern forests)

Seriously, we haven't been in that forest in forever.

Hunters: Defend Workers/Fishermen
Fishermen: Fish in the Ocean, near Sand Hive
Observer: Talk to Elves, Learn their Language
Houndsmen: Patrol around and defend
Workers: Finish Sandhive
Farmers: Continue to Farm
Homeguard: Prepare to fight Undead with fire
Scavengers: Finish the Rooms
Alchemists: Make Armor

Sound good to everyone?
>>
>>26343292
I vote for that.
>>
Once we get enough Mikey's piled up we need to send 5 of them out on an adventure, away from the Hive

God dammit, guys. You went outside.

I think it's settled. The fishermen will be limited to local seas, the mikeys will go to distant lands.

>>26343615
The lich thinks we're animals the elves tamed.
>>
Can i state that there is standing orders to, on sighting undead, to kill them or die where you stand, as leading them back home is punishable by immediate excommunication to mikeydom and then execution, preventing you from restoring your lost honor.
>>
>>26343650
Sure, also we learned that Wraiths are susceptible to Acid.
>>26343627
Oh my god. I loved Muppet Treasure Island.
>>
More serious question: what should the crew makeup of our regular whaleships be?

Obviously quite a few mikeys, but we'd probably need a couple of warriors, an alchemist (for medicine), a mimic, and a couple of observers.
>>
>>26343724
That and a large number of Fishermen/eventual dedicated Sailor class to man the things.
>>
>>26343755
Is sailors what we're calling the Navy?
>>
Give me a sec, I accidentally miss-clicked and closed the tab that I was writing on so I have to write it up again.
>>
>>26343776
It makes sense, because they can operate well on the vessels, and then each vessel will be dedicated to one thing. Specifics: Pirates, Exploratory, Fishing, Slavers. and then other stuff like that. In other words, yeah Sailors will be the caste operating the Navy vessels
>>
>>26343843

I just wanted to be sure they were our Fightan' Seafolk caste.
>>
>>26344010
That's an even better name for them
>>
>>26343292
The hunters, with their thermal vision, catch a ridiculous amount of unsuspecting animals

The fishermen try to tend the whale. It's obviously hungry so Mikey decides to release the entire spawning pool to feed the whale. When asked about it, he replied, "I accidentally the whale."

The observers have no clue if the elves are happy. They start by hugging the elves. This is very awkward for everyone.

The houndsman scout the beach. The sand degenerates from white to shiny, black sand. The hunters find a slew of jelleyfish here.

The workers finish the new hive with the egg chambers relying on the warm ocean water to keep the eggs at perfect temperature.

The farmers don't get much farming done. They try to separate seeds to decide which would be the best crop to plant.

The homeguard work on positions to defend the hive should there be an attack.

The alchemists tend to the elves. They prepare a large quantity of medicine for them to help fight infection and bandage wounded soldiers.

The scavengers upgrade the elven quarters to adhere to elven culture. Everything is reshaped into styles that mimic the elves.

Alright. we now have Builder Mikey, Thief Mikey, and Whale mikey.

I think Builder Mikey needs to be sent to the citadel to see if there's anything left of the city, and rummage in the rubble.

Thief mikey is going to learn to be a thief. Pick up the information the scouts learned from the observers, who obviously have been recording this information, and practice it.

Whale Mikey's in the hole.
>>
>>26344099
He fed the whole spawning pool to the whale

I take it the whale is fed? New Mikey needs to go into the pit. Also feed him one of the Jellyfish, I want to know if they're edible
>>
Okay. Warriors, grab elf warriors, sparring practice in shifts. 2/3 on guard, 1/3 sparring with the elves. Learn what they know. If the elves don't wanna spar, up on guard duty.
>>
I wonder if insects could survive in the whale's mouth.

Not swallowing, mind you, but just sitting there.
>>
>>26344247
THat's what whale mikey is for.
>>
>>26344286
after he spends a night in the pit and eats the Jellyfish,
Also for the larva split: 7 Homeguard 109 Warriors 109 Scouts sound good? Or is that overboard on the Scouts?
>>
>>26344319
Way overboard. We need some hunters and farmers to make up for the population spike. And an observer to communicate with the elves.

Really, a few of every caste, since they all got upgrades.
>>
The hunters hunt.
The fishermen fish.
The observers, since they can talk to the elves, learn to talk to them.
The houndsmen bring back jellies
The workers dig new pits for the spawning pool and whale.
The farmers farm
The homeguard keep guarding home.
The alchemists make metal armor
The scavengers dig out more room for the farms
>>
>>26344319
I think we've only got 125 larva, total.

17 homeguard. 10 houndmasters. 50 warriors... that's 77 down, 48 to go... let's see... 12 more farmers, 12 more alchemists, 12 more observers (for a total of 42) and 12 more fishermen, since we'll need them to start up the food supply at the new colony.
>>
>>26344400
I second this
>>26344398
7 Homeguard, 10 Hunters/Fishermen 10 Workers 10 Scavengers, 4 Farmers, 40 Warriors, and 40 Scouts, 2 Observers 2 Alchemists

There's only 125 larva

That.

>>
>>26344400

>>
>>26344742
Yes, and this is our party makeup.
>>
Rolled 63

>>26344400
The hunters catch a few animals.

The fishermen bring in a nice haul.

The observers spend some time talking to the elves. Rubbing their mandibles together to mimic human noises proves tough for them and the language is not easy.

The houndsmen start carrying jellies back to feed to Mikey to see if they're edible. I'm rolling a d100 on here. 50+ is good eats. 49- is not so good. Crit success means they are nutritional. Crit fail means Mikey dies a horrible death.

The workers dig out new pits for the whale and the spawning pools in the beach hive.

The farmers continue poking around at seeds to figure out which is best.

The home is well guarded.

The alchemists make metal armor. It is impossible to fly while wearing this.

The scavengers dig out more farm room. The farmers are thankful.

Hunters hunt.
Fishermen head down to the new beach hive and start their usual day there, fishing.
Workers haul the whale on rollers.
Farmers farm.
Observers keep at it.
Houndsmen take one of the elves to the northern kingdom thing. See what's going on.
Homeguards improve defenses.
Warriors spar with the elves.
Scouts disguise the entrance.
Alchemists mess with jellyfish venom. YAY NEUROTOXINS.
Scavengers dig some emergency exits.

Fire breathing, because undead threat. Unless we can ex-post-facto. In which case, shoot acid.
