You are Ssen, a Lamia raised by a human Paladin who adopted you after killing the ones who birthed you. You are grown now, and Father has passed on. After a great deal of work, you have become a Paladin like your Father, and now take up his duties.

You are accompanied by your best friend from childhood, the insect druid Tricia; Mage, a magic user who ran away from his family of cannibal raiders known as the Ghouls (Yes, his name is Mage. It was his idea); Persephone, a 22-year old thief/ex-guerllia fighter (She goes by Peri), and Mari, a 13-year old prodigy scholar/now sniper, who has her mind and soul trapped within Peri's body; and Lea, a deeply religious musician/martial artist, trained by her father, a famous trainer for arena fighters, she's covered from her mouth down in bandages to hide the horrific state her body has become thanks to the 'cures' that saved her from cancer.

Your journey continues...

Things are finally starting to turn around for you in the Crafter's city. You've defeated Doctor and secured the remaining 'spare supplies' of living flesh and put them in barrels.

What's more, the flesh robot Nakai'ia was restored to her 'original state' (almost, she still has six arms and has her spider-platform thing for a lower body) and you managed to rescue her. She turned out to be a Crafter, who had been serving as that thing as a way for her to pay to go to the University here. Nikai, as she called herself, was distraught at the information that her civilization had long ago turned to dust, and a demented semi-God was her only legacy.

She was nearly lost to despair, but you managed to pull her back with the help of His Light. More specifically, Nikai's spite towards His Light, which existed as a small, ridiculed, cult back in her time. She refused to let it win, and decided to help you aid the Sad Things and wipe out the city.

First though, she wished to stop by her Uncle's home so she could fix her body, help herself to his jewelry collection, and get a few more 'essentials.' Then to the Tower of Obedience to get the Staff of Domination, and the brillitite stone set within it.

You made a crude cart, loaded up the barrels of flesh into it, and hitched it to Lightmare. Dawn had broken, causing most of the Ice Things to retreat back into their hiding places, and you made your way through the city.

Right up until now...

A small pack of three hounds are sniffing down the street that will cross yours. You have enough dried venison to use as a distraction. Of course, you could chuck a brick, or make Mage do something.

Still there's options where you hide, or bolt down the road as quickly as you can, or get ready to fight the creatures.
>>
Good afternoon, echo! Hope you got a good sleep in ya.

Anyway, as yesterday, I'm still for the "shed a single tear and toss the venison" plan. Though we should probably try throwing a brick first, on the off chance it works and we don't actually have to part with our precious snacks.

Go with your narrative gut, echo!

Wait, don't we have to aid the sad things before we go to the Tower and free the orcs?
>>

We'll figure that out when we get there.

I think we should either distract them or hide. Running past is only last resort as we are still trying NOT to attract attention.

"CRACK!" A crate behind the Hounds splits open with a loud sound. The Hounds turn and start to head over there.

"Go!" Lea says quietly to Lightmare and the horse trots off.

You keep going through the city until Nikai orders you to stop in front of a large house.

"Wait out here." She says.

"No way." Tricia says. "We're not sitting out here like targets for the Things and who-knows-what else."

Nikai rolls her eyes. "Fine, but I forbid you to go further than the foyer. This is my family's house and I wont have Base, Beasts, and Light Cultists tromping through it!" She snaps.

With a sigh and a groan you all, even Lightmare, fit though the door. Nikai heads off, knowing where to go.

You look around. It's not untasteful or horrific. Table, empty vases that probably held flowers, and pictures of the wall of what must be dear Uncle's menagerie.

"Lovely...Mira and Belle." Lea says, looking at a picture of two conjoined twins. "A man who had a love for the bizarre and, by his societies standard's, disgusting."

When she comes back we should probably ask Nikai:
1. Why exactly she thinks things are becoming more human and if she was literal when she said lamia were breeding with humans. (I'm fairly worried this may have something to do with the light)

2. How much she knows about fleshshaping.

>>
"If you're going to get some weapon to betray us, make sure it's a cool one!" You shout down the hall.

"At least we only have to look at pictures. I bet the real thing is tragic, especially now." You say as you tilt the pictures. "We can't get everyone, and he's dead and gone. No point in hating him."

"We should ask her to check on these poor souls." Lea says. "See if they're Sad Things in need of release."

"Or we could go check ourselves." Peri says.

"That would be breaking hospitality." Mari says. "Or at the very least be exceedingly rude. We still need her help at the Tower."
>>
>>26156980
I can agree with asking her but Mari is right. No need to be rude.
>>
>>26156964
Well, it's not so much a matter of humans breeding other races out as it is other races becoming human.

Remember that island of platypi that turned sentient and the Fifth destroyed them? Maybe that was to get back at the Light. I think the Light is trying to spread humanity (first in the form of sentience, and then in the form of human features) in order to uplift animals and beasts and try to get them to work together. It's a noble goal and reminiscent of the nature vs. civilization story arc that Echo had planned if we chose to meet up with those two Lamia at the start. He's clearly merging storylines.
>>
>>26156012
>you have become a Paladin like your Father

>>
>>26157041
As I said, it's a nature vs. civilization type thing. By making them more human, they become more "civilized."

I for the most part agree with you, but the question is what's causing it and how do we counter or at least slow it.

But they were around when, if I remember correctly, the Phoenix Empire were more like birds than apes.

There's something going on here and while the Crafters aren't exactly reliable sources of information, they are looking at it from a perspective we aren't. Why do elves and dwarves look so human? Why did the spawn of dragons and leviathans, the mer and lamia, become humanoid? Why does human civilization absorb non-human civilization time and time again? Why are our land spirits always the strongest?

Now, some of these questions probably have reasonable explanations, but Nikai's comments hint at something we've either ignored or taken for granted.

"They're probably just dead though. They were caged, and there wasn't anyone to feed them, and... yeah."

Lea takes down the names of the menagerie, regardless. "Every soul should have at least one person remember them, and pray for their guidance to His Light."

"Okay. I'm ready." A voice says, making all of you turn and look.

Nikai has changed. She has a human face now, and she's a knockout now. Long legs, flawless creamy skin, a figure that would make Ava of the Lightbringers jealous, only this one has realistic curves instead of Ava's exaggerated features. Shiny teeth, and long raven black hair.

"Umm...what?" Peri asks.

"Well, I can't exactly go walking around Orcs in my divine flesh. They'd rip me apart. I'm not stupid." She shrugs. "But, if I must be of the appearance of Base, then I should be of the finest appearance. Come on, Skitter!"

The platform skitters forward. It now has two antenna on it and makes little chirping noises. It has a small chest strapped to its back.

"Okay." Tricia sighs. "This is turning into something I'm officially regretting." She narrows her eyes at you and smacks your shoulder. "Stop looking at her. It's all fake anyway."

Peri, Mage, and Lea all break into snorting, semi-silent, laughter.

"Now to the Tower." Nikai says.

You all head downstairs, this isn't really a secret passage, but more of a very expensive staircase that's 'secret' just for the mystique of being secret.

"Uncle was always so strange." Nikai says.

You enter into a large room. It's very strange. There's large glass spheres filling this room, must be twenty, give or take. They're each about the size of a large bedroom, there's a glass window on the top of every sphere, and a large heavy looking door on the side.

Along the top, by the windows are small viewing platforms so people could stand and look down on what was happening inside the sphere.

"OWWW! What was that f-oh." She stops as you point to your shoulder. "Okay, okay, sorry."

You push and pull most of yourself up and look down inside. Your eyes widen in shock.

A human woman with tentacles growing out of her back is playing cards with a boy. He looks to be no older than twelve.

"Check the others." Lea says. "They're still alive, with children!"

"What?!" Mage, Peri/Mari, and Tricia scamper to different spheres.

"Can they read? We have a window, we could write them a note. Ask if we should open the door." You say as you get down. "Mage, in the meantime, try to figure out what's safe. And Nikai, might I trouble you for a brief exposition on the rather pressing topic of WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?"

She shrugs. "I don't know! I didn't exactly come down here regularly to watch my uncle fuck his homegrown freaks!"

"Yeah." Mage says with closed eyes. "Stasis, disease wards, cleansing, food summoning, waste removal, these bubbles are perfectly safe. A person could live inside one of these things for ages. Wait out the world."

"So we can't open them?" Tricia asks.

"Dunno. Maybe, maybe not." He says.

"They don't hear me." Lea says. "I've been pounding on the glass, they don't notice me at all."

Peri checks another and then looks away. "Your uncle was kind of sick."

"I know." Nikai says.

Mari taps her forehead. "Mage, would these thing survive the blast?"

Mage shrugs. "Maybe. I wouldn't want to risk it, but if I was trapped in the city when that bomb goes off, I'd want to be inside one of these things."

"So in other words, we could conceivably leave them here and they'd be safer then we're going to be?" You ask.

"Mmmh, I still don't want to leave them behind. Any way we can test it? Are any of these cells empty?" You ask.

"What do you plan to do? Get inside and wait for the bomb to go off?" Peri asks.

"I mean to see if there's any way to test if we can open one of these things without killing the occupant? Perhaps an unoccupied chamber, or one with someone who's died on their own?" You ask.

"How would we test that?" Tricia asks. "Not like we can spend ages upon ages inside them to see if time doesn't catch up when we open it."

"Okay, so...we can't open them without risk, we can't leave them without risk, and we're burning time every moment we stay here." Peri says. "Look, I vote we leave them here."

"Peri!" Lea says.

"This time I have an argument, may I?" Peri says.

Lea nods.

"Okay, say we open them all and a few die but a bunch don't. Then what? We've got to deal with getting them around, getting them out, escaping the bomb, AND we still have to go deal with the Tower and get the stone.

"If we let the bomb go off, maybe some survive. We come back for them, let them out, and we can then just deal with some orcs who'll probably be more than willing to just let us cart them away. Then we just have ANOTHER stupid convoy to deal with. Letting things explode, honestly is less risky than having them deal with a giant city of monsters."

There's a pause. And then Lea nods. "She's not wrong. I don't like it...but she's not wrong."
>>
>>26158520
She's right.

We're wasting daylight as it is, lets go.

"Great peri, now instead of a nice simple moral problem, we have a logistics problem. I honestly have no idea whether monster attack or shelter explosion is more dangerous.

Fine. Here's what we'll do. Give me one of those firebombs. We'll try to break or burn one of the chambers. If we can't do it after ten minutes, we come back for them after the explosion."
>>
>>26158520
Peri has a point. We can't get distracted in this city. Let's leave them and hope for the best. We still have to get the Staff from the tower.
>>
>>26158595
her point isn't the distractions thing, it's the monsters thing.

What's more dangerous, getting exploded or getting mauled by monsters? Very good question.
>>
>>26158611
We're very good at mauling monsters.

Explosions are the more dangerous of the two.
>>
>>26158520
"What we want to do and what's right aren't always the same thing. This feels like one of those cases to me, Lea. And it's all the more reason to make sure that all this wasn't for nothing."

"We can't save everyone all the time, but leaving them here at least they have a chance."
>>
>>26158636
Are you sure? We've got no wagons for cover, and are quite outnumbered by monsters.

Regardless of our monster killing ability, we don't have the surface area to guard a number of refugees over say, a dozen or so without losses.
>>
Rolled 1

>>26158520
Damnit, I can't think of any good counter-arguments to Peri.
>>
The only moral thing to do is to let them out if we can when it's safe. We don't even know if we CAN let them out, but we're going to be opening a door sooner or later. Either before or after the explosion. I say we take one or two with us now- we can guard that many people, and it will be a test to see if they can survive outside the pod without magic withering.
>>
>>26158723
That's because there are none. If we end up burning too much time and resources on trying to save a few people who could be safe if we leave them on their own, we lose time saving an entire continent worth of people.

Leaving them is both the lesser of two evils and the logical thing to do.
>>
>>26158778
well, it would slow us down while we're in the monster city, sure. But after, when we're doing the orc march? They'll not slow us down any more than the orcs do.
>>
"We could try to break or burn one of the chambers," You ask as you head back upstairs.

"Not the same explosion, remember it's going to be a oil and magic mix and we shouldn't waste Mari's last brillitite bullet. Mage says.

"It wouldn't be a waste." Lea says.

"Fair point." Mage agrees as you head back outside. "But I'd rather have it be used to shoot something else than used as a test."

"So, we'll come back after this is done?" Mari asks.

"I suppose." You say. "We need that staff. Ugh, another pain in the ass logistics time."

"Being a Paladin isn't all about the flash and glamor of combat and confessions." Lea says.

Lightmare starts up and you head away from the Menagerie household.

"Do you people have any decent food? Spiced bread or maybe some..." Nikai stops when she sees the looks on everyone else's face. "Never mind...pass the dried venison."

You slowly make your way though the city. Thankfully, the place is mercifully empty and you've gotten good at spotting the signs of Things both Ice and Sad. It's sunset when you arrive at the great glittering doors of the Tower of Obedience.

"Please tell me it's not all the way up there." Mage says, looking upwards.

"No, just the Bell. That IS how we're going to call the Base to here so we can use those." Nikai nods at the barrels of flesh. "And the bell pull is on the ground floor, along with the Staff."

"Then why build this thing so high?" Mari asks as you all struggle with the rusted door.

Nikai shrugs. "To have the power reach all across the city? To show the Base that we Divine are always above them? To prove that we can? I dunno. I was supposed to learn all of this stuff when I went to University."
>>
>>26158806
Which depends entirely on how they've shaped up after all this time. God only knows what they've been through, or how long they've waited.

They're a massive unknown and a burden, and it's safest for EVERYONE to leave them there until we can recover them carefully.
>>
>>26158847
yeah. After the explosion.

We can't leave them for the orcs, they'll pry the doors open and take slaves like nobody's business.
>>
>>26158835
"So, they'll just come for the bell? Wouldn't that also attract a horde of gribblies? I mean, I'm still for the plan, I just need to know if I should be getting ready to defend the place or not."

"Don't worry, given how this city works we'll most like have to repair a few things, find yet another horrible atrocity to fix, and have to invent a new kind of magic in the next few hours..."
>>
>>26158835
Hmm, we can ring the bell to get the Sad things here, and it will take time for the orcs to set up the bomb, soo... here's what I was thinking.

We unload the meat first then grab the Brililite from the staff, and after that ring the bell. This is alert every thing in the city to come to the tower, so we better move out fast. This is also a distraction so the orcs have less enemies to fight once they rush the cathedral.

Nikai shakes her head. "The bell is meaningless to the Divine, and to answer it at all is considered to be a Base act."

"You have no idea. Do you?" Tricia asks.

"Look, you want to save all the Base souls here you can or not? They'll HAVE to come to the bell."

"This could be trouble." Peri says.

"Don't worry, given how this city works we'll most like have to repair a few things, find yet another horrible atrocity to fix, and have to invent a new kind of magic in the next few hours..." You say.

"True." Lea says. "I suppose any plan is better than no pl-"

Lea's cut off when the door blows open with enough force to knock everyone down in the street.

You pull yourself up and look inside. There's a glow of light, and you can see it. For ONCE something in this horrible place goes your way and is simple. There's the Staff of Domination, placed upright in a stand, right in the middle of a large empty room and behind that, at the back of the room is a bell pull rope.

Of course, because the Universe apparently hates you, between you and those two things stands a familiar figure.

The Cold Dark Man is there.

He has the shape of a Crafter dressed in expensive looking clothing. The ground has ice crystals at his feet, and you can see wisps of smoke come off his body. (For reference it's the type of 'smoke' you see come off of dry ice)

He makes a gesture and all of you, Nikai, Platform, Lightmare, and the barrels are all dragged within the Tower and the doors slam shut behind you.

He shakes his head and wags his finger. "Enough."

Soma Effect: Beacon will NOT charge as long as he wields Soma. You CAN try to damage Soma directly, but it's not easy.

Tower of Obedience effect: If the Avatar of Ice gets his Ice within a Dawnchaser, they might become Dominated. This effect lasts as long as the staff remains upright. Note, you now see that the staff is FIRMLY locked in place due to a metal stand. You'll have to smash that thing to free it.

Oh shit, I thought that restored only one wound.

Also, that's only cauterization and anasthesia in that, so we're going to be FEELING THE HELL out of this one in about an hour.

If back when tricia healed us we were brought up to full, that means we have... 4 hits now. I think. So get back to attacking.

HAH! A flash of sparks and then a HUGE burst of light that knocks Soma out of the Avatar's hands.

"Enough." The Avatar says. "You failed. I will end this."

He motions with a hand and Soma vanishes.

His form then shifts and the face that he had now is a Hound's, a second pair of Headhunter arms rip out of his sides and his legs stretch up into Longleg appendages, splitting in half to become four.

A shriek comes from its mouth as longleg tendrils emerge and Headhunter Ichor spills down its limbs.

Mouths emerge from his chest and begin to sing the Song of the Choir.

(Ichor: The Ice Aura is cancelled by this.)

Platform shows no hesitation and attacks it.

Mage gestures and suddenly the only thing you hear is a faint ringing in your ears.

Mari keeps her analyzation up.

Tricia shifts her limbs into mantis blades and digs into the creature's legs.

You and Lea however are on the ball and you're not only fast enough to get out of the way, but you grab Peri and Lea grabs Mage and you all slide to safety out of the way.

The Bell lands hard with a huge BONNNNNNNGGGGGGG and lands...right on top of the Staff of Domination. There's a HUGE burst of Light and the staff is knocked free from its stand you feel those hands on your brain disappear in an instant.

"Get the staff!" Mage shouts.

THUD

The Cold Dark Man lands on top of the ruined bell in a three point landing. He gestures and the staff of Domination pulls itself out of the rubble and jumps into one hand.

"Yes, I know. No...I don't doubt you." He gestures with his other hand and Soma appears in his other hand. "They end with us."

You aim Beacon at the Avatar and let Enlightenment slam into the fucker. The blast of light knocks the creature off of it's feet, it drops the staff of Domination. Peri grabs it. Mage shakes his head clear.

The Avatar just vanishes when it hits the ground. Dissipating into a mass of cold smoke, soot, and a pool of ichor. The song of the Choir is silenced in the entire city for five whole seconds. Then it starts up again.

"LEA!" Tricia is at her side, using the rest of the pollen she can use to stem the large amount of blood pouring down her chest. Soma is nowhere to be seen.

Lea smiles at Tricia and slumps against her.

"Open the barrels!" Mage says. "Get Lea over here now!"

"Uhh guys..." Peri says pointing behind you. The doors of the tower are open and you see them. A mass of Sad Things, there has to be at least a couple thousand of them. They're just standing there, looking at Peri. Peri looks at the staff in her hand.

"Oh. Oh shit." She says.

"Oh shit." You echo. "Nikai, Tricia, open the barrels...dump it out. Now. Peri keep them from charging the stuff. Mage, do what you're going to do!"

The barrels are opened and Mage motions for the others to start dumping all of them out, save one.

"Ugh...this is so so gross." Tricia says as the mass of pinkish, reddish, lumpy flesh starts to pour out of the barrels. It's freed of the spell Mage used so it keeps on pouring out, more and more, into the crowd.

And by His Light, the plan worked. The Sad things that touch the wave of flesh collapse into nothing, and their skulls turn to dust. It's just the same as when they touched you. And yes, a little of the flesh grows blackish or gets frost crystals, but there's no brain or overly complex vital organs to traumatize.

Mage in the meantime takes a handfull of the stuff out of one barrel and slaps it on Lea's wound. He puts his staff to her body and chants. There's a hissing sound and...well, it's not pretty, but who can tell that Lea has another scar or seven.

Mage nods and smiles at you. "She's going to be sore, and stiff for a while, but she's okay."

Lea groans and opens her eyes as she hangs onto Mage and Tricia. She nods as she looks at the crowd of Things, touching the growing puddle of flesh and freeing themselves.

"This...is the most disgusting miracle...I've seen in my life." She says.

"Nakai? Not a good time." You say. "Those kind of things aren't the best thing to blurt out ri-"

The explosion knocks you all to the ground.

You pick yourself up and turn around and look.

It's like watching a second sun slowly fade away. Then it turns into just a red glow on the horizon.

The Orc walks up to you and claps you on the shoulder. "It is done. Food must wait, we will go south now."

"Aren't we going to wait for the team that left with the bomb?" Tricia asks. "Oh...I see." She's says when she realizes what the look on the Orc's face means.

"Tisgut and his men said that they would make sure that the bomb would go off." The Orc says. "They were very brave, and very dedicated. We will honor them for ages."

"Tisgut?! He was the one taking the bomb? He's..." Peri asks. "We knew him...we liked him."

"May the Red Wolf escort him to His Light and speak of his unquestioning bravery." Lea says.

You notice that the ice that's next to the Land has changed. It's no longer a solid mass. Now it's a slushy mass, mixed with dirt and water. The Ice has ended.

You have helped bring Spring to the North.

What I think happened is the Dark Man existed before and merely influenced the Crafters to become part of him and to strengthen him.

"May his Journey be short, and he find peace under His Light. Maybe He can teach that Tisgut some manners." You say and you give a silent prayer.

You turn to the Orc. "Prepare to march. We need to take one last look around the ruin."

The Orc nods and heads off. They don't really care what you do, they're orcs. They have orders.

You all get into Wagon and head back into the city. The bomb did a huge number on the place. There's nothing but a crater where the Foundry and the Cathedral were, along with nine or ten more blocks of the city. The rest of the place is burnt black. Fire swept through all of this place. The ground is baked clay and in insides of most buildings have been scoured clean.

Nikai is silent. She just is going through her chest of jewelry and chatting to Platform in Crafter. You think she's bitching to Platform about the stupidity of the Ascension Party and how politics in general are stupid.

You reach Nikai's Uncle's house and make your way inside.

"How exactly does fire do this?" Mage asks as you walk down the burnt staircase. "The door was closed. I'm the one who can DO magic, and even I'M stumped on this."

"Come on." Peri says. "Just see what these things are doing." She points at the spheres. All of them are covered in soot.

Mage wipes the black away and put a hand to it and concentrates. "Well...seems like some of the magic failed...on most of them."

"How can you tell?"

"Skipping magic-babble, they're connected to a set of master runes, break one, the rest go. Same deal as the geas field." He frowns and nods. "Yeah. Okay, so we don't have to worry about time catching up with them when we open the doors. Those runes that are related to time failed."

"Did they turn into Things?" Nikai asks.

"No..." Tricia says. "This one has her dead. She's sleeping on her bed. Peacefully."

"May His Light take them to His side and show them the peace they deserve." Lea says.

"Hey, this one's still alive!" Peri says.

It's just one sphere that has someone who's still alive. The rest have passed peacefully, along with their children if they had any. Not a great life, and not a great death, but still...better than a lot of other options that you've seen in the past.

And, because His Light, some other God, Land Spirit, or the Universe itself, has a sense of humor...you know exactly which person survived the collapse of the runes and had time not quite catch up to her.

You know her very well indeed. You were inside her head after all.

Nikai does a little talking to her, right after you open the door. She explains the situation as best she can. A smack on the head from Peri enforces the point that she's no longer a Joy Slave.

Still the Not-Lamia looks at you for a moment. She gingerly touches her tail to yours...and then in one move she's wrapped around you. Crying. After a while she stops and lets her tail go. She says something to you in Crafter. Nikai translates.

"She says her name is Aya. She wants you to teach her how to have a soul."

"Granny would like having a baby sitter for Ssai and Ssah." Peri says.

"I just want to go down south and never EVER see this place again!" Tricia says.

"Amen." Lea says. "Anyway, we have a war to fight."

"Not to mention." Mage says, holding up a tightly wrapped cloth package that has a very important stone inside it. "Another God to beat the snot out of."

"Work work work." Mari says. "I swear, we beat a GOD and that doesn't even get us a vacation. What do we have to do to get ONE lousy day off?"

"Never ask those questions aloud." Tricia says. "I think the Universe takes them as challenges."

And with that happy note we close for the evening and close the Up North arc.

With that being said, I have a very full work week with extra shifts that I need to do, since I like paying rent and buying food. So, To my sorrow, the War will have to wait until Saturday.

This is also because I have absolutely nothing ready and need to outline stuff for you to Henderson.

Saturday, July 27th 11-3pm PST.

May His Light Watch Over You all.

It's already archived

See you Saturday.
>>
>>26167864
>what do we have to do to get a day off
That's a VERY good question.

See you next saturday, echo. I knew there would be some catch to the lamiathon.
>>
>>26167864
I suppose this is a happy note
>>
>>26167864
more time for you to prep!
>>
>>26167864
Cya Saturday, Echo.

Don't worry, we probably won't go above a 2 on the Henderson Scale

Probably
>>
>>26167864
See you then, you magnificent fuck.
>>
>>26167864
"NOW do you all agree with me that cold is the worst thing?"
>>
>>26167909
2 is theoretically impossible.
>>
>>26167923
Sounds like a challenge.
>>
>>26167928
no, it would just mean the end of the quest by definitions.
>>
Anyway, thread is dying in like, FIVE MINUTES, so this is our last chance to discuss shit.

We've not shed yet.

We'll have to do it on the road.
>>
>>26167923
Challenge accepted.
>>
>>26167948
We're gonna need a bigger wagon
>>
>>26167972
I don't think we can even stretch out in the thing .

Not to mention the not-lamia is going to be taking up as much space as us.
>>
>>26167864
Later.
>>26167896
We lost Tisgut.

None of our family died, we beat the shit out of everything that got in our way, we rescued a genetically engineered not-lamia, the Crafter race didn't go entirely extinct, we saved hundreds or possibly thousands of tortured souls, and we now have both an army and an anti-Citadel warhead.

I think that's a fair trade for Tisgut.
>>
>>26168000
Well, we did kill a lot of innocent people. Should probably confess for that.
>>
>>26167987
She might be smaller than us.
>>
>>26168000
Still a shame. I would be more sad about it, but I feel tisgut went out EXACTLY how he wanted to go out, so it's not such a tragedy.
>>
>>26167972
Lea can give us a hand too, along with Tricia.

After all, Lea expressed interest in our smoothness.
>>
>>26168026
So going south: the road trip in which we shed skin and learn a new language.
>>
>>26168007
We didn't kill them, exactly. It was kind of an accident. Like tripping and accidentally unplugging their life support.
>>
>>26168026
I had SORT of wanted to be talking to some orcs and then go
"Augh, wait a second"
then tear off our own face (the shed skin at least)
"Continue".

Mostly because it would make me laugh.
>>
>>26168007
What innocent people? We got all the ones that hadn't been turned into insane monsters made out of darkness and hate and ice in one place and helped them move on.

Destroying the others was neither our action, nor was it something we could really have avoided if we were going to stop the madness up here. We also helped free an entire race from terror and slavery.

I see nothing wrong with our actions.
>>
>>26168022
If it makes you feel better. Tisgut went out Strangelove style. Riding the bomb that was being propelled rocket style, crashing through the front doors of the Cathedral straight into the central mass of the Ice God, screaming a war cry the entire time.

Also, just because a Land Spirit has had its Avatar dispelled, and had the majority of its being blown to kingdom come, don't mark it completely down and out yet.

After all, Peace was supposedly taken out too.
>>
>>26168060
>nothing wrong with our actions
If we had done nothing, the loveslaves would still be alive. True, we've done good, but we've also done ill.

I don't know about confessing for it, since that'd be making lea carry even MORE weight, but we should consider that it WAS an unfortunate and terrible consequence of our actions.
>>
>>26168063
So the Orcs didn't get a true kill-steal?

Sweet.
>>
>>26168044
>did that snake-tribe just tear off her own face. Phil?
>think so, Bob.
>what the fuck did we get ourselves into?
>don't know. don't WANT to know.
>>
>>26168063
That does make me feel better. Exactly how Tisgut would have wanted to go.
>>
>>26168063
>After all, Peace was supposedly taken out too
Oh, you shameless tease.
>>
>>26168078
see? It's pure comedy.

Just like how that one occuli told stories about us just HISSING at him the entire way back. Ted too.
>>
>>26168063
True, Echo. We cut off a head of Peace's, not the head. Also the fifth one probably wants to find 5 Land Spirits with attitude.
>>
>>26168078
They don't have many snakes up north, do they? Orcs might not know snakes shed.
>>
>>26168074
>If we had done nothing, the loveslaves would still be alive
No way to know that. They superaged once the system failed. They might have been catatonic, and they might have died anyway.

Plus, leaving them to their fate allowed us to score a major victory and secure what we need to save most of a continent from their eventual brainwashing and enslavement.

Not the best outcome to hope for, but realistically it was better than we could have expected.
>>
>>26168102
We can probably do that in the next thread when we're talking with the orc leaders or leaving the camp.
>>
>>26168152
no, I mean nothing. As in, no bomb. No trip to the city. no actions in the north at all.

By doing things, we caused these deaths. I'm not saying we can avoid having deaths, but we should simply be aware.
>>
>>26168156
I'm truly looking forward to it. If I can remember a whole week.

Also, we HAVE to pick up terry and tammy. No forgetting that.
>>
>>26168165
Go to bed, Ice Man.
>>
>>26168195
It's exploded
>>
Shit what about platform?

How are we gonna lug it around?
>>
>>26168274
Are you kidding?

It's the only mount wide enough for Ssen to ride.

We're going to try to befriend it.
>>
>>26168284

Well at least for a few years...

Depending how how much echo minds letting us grow
>>
>>26168298
well, we're probably going to slow up. By 100, 30 feet is the average for feasting citadel lamia, so we'll probably be a bit short of that.
