"The untested grow weak.
The weak perish.
Those unwilling to change, fade into history."

...welcome home, kids!

You are the Rozoolliim, an insectoid race ever-faithful to your God-Queen, Rozooll.

Brief Recap:

Hazim and the Citizens of Kaalun were dealt with. Hazim was threatened into giving Medinh control of the city, which he agreed to. Medinh, Hazim, and the others returned to Kaalun, with promises to send surprlus goods to Greenhome.
~
A large tunnel was dug to connect the Hive with Kaalun. It was completed relatively quick, thanks to the combined efforts of the Queen Worm and a group of Tunnelers.
~
A large band of desert marauders has discovered the existance of the Hive. They seem to value the chitin as armor and may attack soon...
>>
>>26102018

A couple changes have been made, thanks to some great feedback from you guys. Chief change being the turns. Despite it 'not making sense', each turn was basically people choosing whatever they could get away with. So I limited it to 2 again, so each choice feels a little valuable.

>Greenhome
>Queen: Rozooll, God-Eater
>Princess: Mazooll
>1 Evolution Point
>Total Population: 154
>Rozoolliim: 146 adults, 27 larvae, 17 eggs
>Numbers (Non-Insectoid): 7 Humans (4M/3F), 1 Elf (M), 1 Queen Tunnel Worm.

If harvesting is our of our actions

A) Scavenge/Harvest
F) Hive Improvement (Spire)

If not

F) Hive Improvement (Spire)
D) Study the scavenged armor of the guards, and try to fit it for our warriors.
>>
>>26102175
*if harvesting is one of our actions
>>
>>26102052

C) Dispatch some scouts to keep an eye out for the marauders with orders to run away if attacked

G) Eat armor and a large amount of metal maybe it will influence our eggs and we could lay metal eggs and give birth too metal bugs
>>
>>26102175
Dude Zen think about it Metal Bugs!
>>
>>26102192
>>26102211

That seems a bit too risky. I think we should experiment as such whenever we dont have imminent risk of marauders.
>>
>>26102052
It's the most wonderful part of the day!

A) Keep up the Scavenging/ Harvest

D) Research the armor like >>26102175 suggested.
>>
>>26102301
If we don't use an Evo point we don't need to spend time evolving this is just us Eating a lot of metal in the hopes that it would influence our eggs don't we have that selective egg ability?.
>>
tame more tunnel worms

fertilize eggs with half scavengers half nomads
>>
>>26102301
But i do agree with Improving Spire over scouting
>>
Sorry. Had to run to the store real quick. Update comin' soon.
>>
>>26102383
I think that only applies to organic/genetic material.

As for actions,

A. Scavenge/harvest. We may need to prepare for a siege.

F. Hive improvement (spire). I think I remember us starting that last thread, so some work should already be done. If we can finish the rest, we should be well fortified enough to keep the marauders from attacking in the first place, barring siege weapons.
>>
>>26102052

Harvest and Scavenging brings back a total of 9.2 Units of food. A Scavenger also found a few long-dead bodies, crumbling from exposure to the desert sun. They had a decaying satchel with a dagger, as well as 3 hides.
~
The Curious Ones, seeing the protection that the humans of Kaalun had, decide to try and emulate it. Of course, finding a way to fit the strange features of the Rozoolliim may take a while...
~
No sightings of marauders...yet.

G) Eat a large amount of Metal and armor (worse case scenario nothing happens)

F) finish the spire
>>
>>26102608
>>26102638

It might, I dont think we are designed to eat...metal.

F)Spire a go go(Also have workers that are higher up look for marauders if possible)
D) Keep developing that armor
>>
>>26102551
A. Because potential siege,

G. Develop better battlefield tactics.

We've fought two battles, the first won because we had the element of surprise, the second because we used our hostage well. We will likely have no such advantage against these raiders, we need to figure out how to use our weapons most effectively.

We have bows and glaives and swords and such, each with a different battlefield role. We should find those roles, so that we out armies will grow even stronger.
>>
>>26102738
Well considering we ate quite a few humans whole and had no problem eating their clothes/pocket money/other miscellaneous items i think we CAN digest it and maybe in large quantities it can even alter our eggs
>>
>>26102786
Thats different from eating straight up metal though.

I think we are big enough to swallow it whole.

F.) Finish spire.
Also can we use the evo point to make curious ones fertile?
>>
>>26102946
It was decided that was a major evo, which I think takes two points.
>>
>>26102551
I agree with >>26102907
>>
>>26102551

(Author's Note: Don't be afraid to discuss possible evolutions.)

The Spire, already in the final stages of its construction, is completed! Units manning the tower will get a bonus to perception, helpful when looking for incoming threats.
~
The Curious Ones continue their work in developing armor capable of fitting the Rozoollim. They are having a difficult time when they finally make a breakthrough! A Curious One, frustrated at the lack of progress, bit through one of the pieces of scrap armor and in tearing it, found a way to adjust the form easier, using his mandibles. Armor can now be crafted!

>>
>>26103000
Okay question time farezz could the queen eat metal?
>>
>>26102946
>>26102971
Adjustment: It will be a minor Evolution.
Figured since minor Evolutions mostly pertain to single caste improvements and smaller-scale changes, it makes sense.

>>26103037
An Evolution grants the ability to have one Major Evolution, or two Minor ones.

>>26103040
It's...possible.
>>
>>26103000
Oh baby

D) Craft suits of armor for our warriors, it would be a good idea to have them
C) Man the Spire, see if those marauder guys are lurking about

>>26102971
From what I remember from the first thread, 2 minor evos per point. So it would take one point for a major evo.

As such
G) evolve curious ones to be fertile.
F)finish spire

Also sorry im late

Thats what I meant. Its four in the am here and I cant type for shit anyway, sorry for the confusion
>>
>>26103000
So guys lets just TRY to eat the metal imagine the advantages of metal bugs!

As for using the evolution i suggest the ability to vibrate their bodies at such a high frequency that they can "swim" through the ground(not solid stone) much like the Roaches and Zerg from Starcraft 2
>>
>>26103119
Or get spines to push them like the graboids from tremors
>>
>>26103101
oops auto was off.

G)evolve curious ones to be fertile
G) have queen eat a small amount of metal and see how she feels.
>>
>>26103000
we didn't kill the elf?

>disgusting

D - weapons

G - scout out these marauders, they must be vanquished
>>
>>26103119
If we had the burrow power our units could escape from almost any engagement in the desert and come back to us also the burrowers who have Amazing combat prowess but no defense could pop up in the middle of an enemy army slit one soldiers throat and be gone before the other soldiers have time to react.
>>
So as someone who wants to get into this, can anyone point me to the first 2 threads? They don't seem to be archived under the same tags as the recent threads.
>>
>>26103000
G. We should have our most perceptive & dexterous warriors (or others) train with the bows. We have a spire, after all.

G. We should set up a "spire patrol" to have guards on the spire at all times. If organizing that doesn't cost a turn, then research mixed unit tactics. Glaives are the bastard lovechildren of swords and pikes, we need to be able to field them as best we can, befitting a weapon as amazing as the glaive.
>>
i cant believe nobody wants metal bugs or the ability to move through the ground like its water.

that reading
>>
>>26103062
Let's make the curious ones fertile then. We should also find out if we can better control what castes hatch from our Mother's eggs.
>>
>>26103161
Agreed. That would be a great option. Only one caste should have that, which should allow it to be only a minor evo.
That would leave us with fertile Curious ones and a caste that can burrow underground quickly.
>>
>>26103159
Because he can teach us magic.
He already thought us how to mindfuck things better. Also fireballs
>>

Indeed, in fairly small unit combat in a somewhat open area the glaive shines.

>>

we still don't have flying bugs
>>
>>26103406
We can get those by eating things with wings we don't need to waste a evo point
>>
>>26103406
fuck yeah true. I vote that we evolve unanimous flight, from us to our lowest caste. fucking mobility man, we gunna become wasps in this shit
>>
>>26103406
the next thing we should look into!
But I think we should try to find something that flys to eat first.
Flying bugs with bows and arrows would be terifying
>>
>>26103450
Its not just mobility if we are underground they cant hit our guys and we can even sneak up on people wings are cool and all but we can get them by eating stuff with wings that we will probably find later also with the burrowing if we get sieged we can burrow out and start splitting their throats
>>
>>26103449
we won't get wings for everyone ever with just eating something, at best we'd get a new caste
>>
>>26103000

With The Spire completed, regular schedules of guard duty are assigned. Currently, there's only space enough at the top for two guards, but they'll be switched out regularly, to ensure constant watch.

We don't all need wings a single cast would be enough for that and maybe it would go to all of them i still think burrowing in the desert and fertile curious one is the most helpful especially right now with our scouts getting killed and the threat of siege
>>
>>26103520
Getting wings for one cast sounds like a major evolution. I might be wrong but that sounds like six or so evo points. I hope Im wrong though, burrowing, Flying bugs would be kickass

Oops. Meant

>4 shiny bars

farezz said earlier that evolving wings for everyone was 1 major evolution, while wings for a single caste was 1 minor evolution
>>
>>26103564
We evolve better chitin first, we depend on technology too much for our own good. We gotta evolve our natural defenses and weapons. If we continue this path of arming everyone with made weapons logistically its gonna be a fucking bitch

Wings are way WAY too advanced for us
>>
>>26103578
Well it may pay off if i recall she didn't feel all that different from eating other things

G) Lay eggs

B) Worship the queen
>>
>>26103317
That elf is planning something though, maybe.

He did take those spell tomes even though he's blind. I don't know, but when we're done with him, we might as well eat him. We might evolve longer lives, which might be useful.
>>
>>26103564
G) lay eggs

>Eggs
Lay eggs and fertilize them

>Worship

>>
>>26103608
But if we had curious ones that could fertilize eggs we could get allot more curious ones and thus advance tech allot faster
>>
>>26103600
Shit son. If thats the case why dont we just get everyone burrowing now and then get everyone flying with the next evo point. Or the other way around Its all good for us
>>
>>26103637
true, but remember that we can eat other races to adquire their skills, with enough eating we can get an almost omnipotent being
>>
>>26103621
I never said we wouldn't eat him after he thought us all he knows, but we could run into more dickish elves in the meantime so we wont have to.

On the subject of magic books, he can probably read them because magic
>>
>>26103637
>>26103161

Burrowing also has a major fear factor for enemies imagine marching in an army and then seeing the soldier on your left die to a hideous giant insect that vanished before you could retaliate then seeing everyone around you get killed by these burrowing monsters and being completely unable to stop them. Would you stand and fight or run away screaming?
>>
>>26102907
next verse same as the first
>>
>>26103703
fucking this
>>
>>26103703
I would probably just kill myself. Because really... are they dead? or are they suffering a fate worse than death? *shudder*
>>
>>26103635
Our curious ones arms and armor is right now crudely made light weapons that our warriors use very skillfully. Their progress is way too slow I really doubt bolstering the numbers would allow us to tech up faster than naturally evolving ourselves. Besides if we focus more on the curious ones our other castes would fall well below their current population. That's no good
>>
>>26103703
I like both and see no reason why we cant get both eventually Although if it came to a vote I would probably go for universal flying since we can get giant worms to burrow for us at the moment.
>>
>>26103564
D) research and development
We should evolve our workers to be stronger.
F) Hive improvement
We should place (magical and mundane) traps throughout our territory to prevent attacks.
>>
>>26103748
if you think about it, we should be using the tech to either cover up our principal weakneses or increasing our efectivenes in the areas we are strong at.

example: tunnelers are good diggers, create especial equipment outfitted for their bladelike hands so they can dig even faster
>>
>>26103757
Its not a simple as burrowing that takes allot of time the hyper vibrate bodies to swim through land ability would make them able to instantly escape enemies and move unseen as well as this >>26103703
>>
>>26103703
are we thinking like some they are standing on ground a claw comes out and drags them under or we pop out of ground swish slash then dive back in like bugs bunny

also i think that digging in the desert right now is the most useful battle plan
>>
>>26103748
the princess will be able to produce eggs soon so population wont be that much trouble.

More people researching of course means teching up faster, especially when we get a bonus to tech

Being able to fly or burrow seems like a better bonus than though chitin to me
>>
>>26103799
Dude dude why not both?

They can pop up and slit the guys throat or grab the guy make him hyper vibrate and drag him into the ground.
>>
>>26103813
though chittin is a must if we are going to get some heavy trooper. Think something like the carnifex or the ultralisk

other skills are useful for other things, burrowing is good for ambushes, flying is good for hit and run tactics
>>
>>26103813
I don't think we're gonna allow the princess to stay in this hive along with her mother considering we're insect. No doubt she'll have to move and make a new hive on her own if she does mature. (considering we're playing insect)
>>
>>26103796
I know what your saying but its just faster to type burrow.
Also think about the psychological effects of seeing an entire enemy army flying at you, especially when your in an age of bows and arrows.
I want burrowing as well though dont worry about that
>>
>>26103835
Wouldn't that be more of a increased biomass evolution and not a heavy chitin evolution?
>>
>>26103864
>implying they don't have both
>>
>>26103846
We're intelligent insects who eat gods, I think we can handle our family matters however we want
>>
>>26103861
If they are flying at you you can have the archers shoot them down or chain lightning off of them with a wizard and i agree a flying swarm is a major fear factor but that would require insane numbers to be effective wherass burrowing could be done with just 20 people
>>
>>26103846
Not if we mind break her/slave her to the queens will. Not to mention our queen is a literal god-queen. I doubt that its much of an issue.
>>
>>26103864
its both, really.

supposedly, ultralisks from starcraft are technically inmune to small arms fire, their chitin is as tough as the armor plates from a tank, they are also big because they are meant to draw attention so small critters can kill people
>>
>>26103905
i think we would need more than one Evo point to make that work we could also find and eat large creatures to get a larger caste
>>
>>26103898
The magic would be a problem but I was thinking we could just stay way above the reach of arrows until we run out of our own arrows.

Im not arguing though Ill go for burrowing first if it speeds things along
>>
>>26103823
I don't really like the hyper-vibrating idea, though some form of super-burrowing would be an excelent evolution.

I dunno, hyper-vibrating just sounds a bit silly to me.
>>
>>26103984
Tell that to the zerg buddy
>>
>>26103949
yeah, the point is that we dont need to spend the evo point to get more castes, we can get them by eating stuff.

if you didint kill the tunnel worms we could eat a lot of them and evolve the burrowing skill for all of our castes
>>
>>26103984
Dude i'm pretty much stealing this idea from Starcraft 2 its how the Zerg do it
>>
>>26103813
All I'm saying is evolving is faster than teching up and considering we're gonna have to be able to command a swarm having it's main weapon and armor restricted because of non food stuff is not very insect like
>>
>>26104036
comfirming that steal... their muscles vibrate at a sub "sonic" level, and that softens up the soil, then they burrow themselves by "swimming" in to the earth
>>
>>26104001
Eating a tunnel worm is how we got tunnelers lol
>>
>>26104057
that was before we spent one evo into getting the skill to control how we evolve by noms, now we have control over that
>>
>>26104048
We are strange insects, we ate a god.
I agree with you though we should go after natural stuff Just after we can fly and/or burrow

In support of the Queen and her glorious heralding of change, her children gather in the hatchery once more to worship her. They sing of the glories of change, the divine beauty of adaptation, the splendid grace of their mother and Queen. The cocoon once more glows intensely, followed by quickening pulses rippling through the cocoon's frame.
~
The Warriors in The Spire report more movement on the far dunes, approaching slowly.

A few Scavengers are sent to scout the force approaching the Oasis. They return after some time. They didn't to notice the scouts, but they did report a large force, riding strange creatures were coming near. They DID have weapons, but didn't show signs of aggression. But then again, they didn't see the Scavengers...so who knows? They are getting incredibly close, however. They should be here by next turn.
~
Worship of Rozooll continues. Her children pray for guidance and strength to persevere through this trial, should their beloved Queen still be in stasis during the ordeal. The cocoon shudders sporadically, the glow flaring intensely every few moments. Something may happen soon...

Fearing that an incoming attack could cripple future attempts at harvesting, Workers quickly go and gather what food sources they can. Thankfully, harvest is bountiful, yielding a total of 10.5 Units of food.
~
Once again, Rozooll's children gather in the hatchery with the acolytes, to worship their beloved mother, queen, and god. The cocoon shudders, as usual, then goes still. After a few moments, it heaves violently and ruptures! Rozooll emerges from the remains! Evolution is complete!
[Evolutions granted: 2 minor]
[Future generations of Curious Ones will now be fertile. Queens dig brainy guys.]
[Tunnelers have evolved small, grooved spines along their shell. They vibrate at intense frequencies, shifting the dirt with ease. 'Swimming' through sand and loose soil is now possible. Only 98% plagiarized!]
~
The group is upon the Hive! However, many seem to have fallen into the sinks and holes dug by the Tunnelers...this thins their numbers a bit, but there are still many more. If they weren't hostile before, judging by the angry shouts, they certainly are now...

Battle time!

>>26105759
Lets eat most of them and then sort out whether or not they meant us harm.

Wait can we sandstorm their asses?
>>
>>26105759

The forces are rapidly approaching the Oasis now. Many are charging, some riding furiously on the backs of some...strange animal that the Rozoollim haven't seen before. Some are wearing the chitin plates of fallen Rozoollim. How sickening...
Options:

>A). Meet them in battle in the Oasis. Significantly reduces risk on the Queen's part. But the open could be more dangerous...
>B). Retreat forces behind the Gate. This could buy some more time for...whatever preparations are needed. However, closer to the Hive does mean closer to the Queen...
>C). Write-In
>>
>>26105823

The Queen is quite exhausted from the Evolution...magic as powerful as conjuring a sandstorm could be hazardous. But it IS possible.
>>
>>26105849
C) arrange ranks of warriors with glaives behind the gate. that way anyone coming through the gate will be torn up. Have the giant worm go burrowing around underneath the nomads. For now I think thats all there is we can really do. without some idea of what they are doing.
>>
>>26105849

C) Retreat into the hive and close the gate then have the Queen tunnel worm bore her way into the middle of their army and have some burrowers go with her when that happens charge out of the gate and slaughter them have Cultists assist the battle however they can.
>>
>>26105909
Sounds like a plan.
>>
>>26105909
Hopefully the confusion will win us the battle
>>
>>26105849
line warriors behind the gate, have the tunnelers and Queen worm burrow beneath the sand and take out nomads, have cultists and elf assist as possible
>>
>>26105849
We meet them head on.

During battle have the warriors meet them head on but have all the tunnelers split in two equal numbers on the flanks of the battle. During the heat of the battle the tunnelers would swim in the sand across the battlefield underground acting like sharks, slashing at the creatures legs or have target of opportunity and drag the unfortunate souls deep underground. They are to avoid direct confrontation.
>>
>>26105849
also can we get an idea of how many there are? from up on the spire they should be able to count fairly well.
>>
>>26105926
Future generations can swim the current ones cannot. Wait can we have archers on the spire that fire down onto the nomads? if so have workers do that.
>>
>>26105941
Aside from the ones who were trapped, there's somewhere between 60-70.
>>
>>26105962
in addition to my other plan.
>>
>>26105962
Completely agreed.
>>
>>26105962
Then we get tunnelers tunnel under the battlefield collapsing the marauders front at random intervals. This creates panic and chaos. If they can't work that fast then have the tunnelers dig underground and wait. When the marauders engage the warriors the tunnelers pop out and engage their rear. When the rear reengages the rear tunnelers would then dig themselves back down underground to prevent retaliation
>>
>>26106011
That's allot like my plan except mine has a giant worm and works on trying to confuse them for our push.>>26105909
>>
>>26105849
btw OPis there anyway to... well basically encase our present tunnnelers in that goo and give them that evo? basically update them
>>
>>26105849
USe hive defenses to our full advantage. No open field combat against them, pull them down where they can't ride their strange things
>>
>>26105849

The Rozoolliim retreat behind the Gate, buying time for what's to come next...
While the marauders start to bray on the Gate, a deafening rumble can be heard...as it gets closer, some of the marauders shout to each other in broken Commontongue. Erupting from below the Oasis is the Queen Worm. She immediately devours some of the forces, however they quickly regroup and retaliate, firing arrows and a few spells on her. She shrieks in pain and quickly retreats beneath the sand. Tunnelers emerge from the burrow she made and start to attack the marauders, pinning them between themselves and the Gate.

>Cont.
The two guards in The Spire fire arrows down into the crowd. They manage to wound a few of them.
>>
>>26106268
Have all workers, warriors, scavengers and nomads pour out of the gates. OVERWHELM THEM! Also have the cutists cast what spells they can.
>>
>>26106305
This
>>
>>26106305
also if no killing wounded. We want to know something about them. So capture a few if possible.
>>
>>26106268

The gates open wide and the Rozoolliim rush out, glaives pointed outward. They run their weapons through the attackers. However, they expected a fight. A captain quickly shouts commands to the temporarily broken front line and they quickly regroup. They start to fiercely retaliate, knowing that failure here would certainly mean their doom.
The acolytes stand behind the line of Warriors at the gate, throwing spells into the crowd.

At this point, I'm gonna ask for some 1d100s. One each, please. And I'll be updating in 5 minutes with results.

>>26106802

Not expecting such a turn in tactics, the majority of the Tunnelers are cut down. The marauders push themselves into the tunnel, hoping that it will lead them into the heart of the Hive...however, their backs are now exposed!

>A). Follow them into the Worm's Tunnel. Their backs are exposed now, allowing for an easier time to cut them down in their retreat.
>B). Head them off at the end of the Tunnel. Their advance will be hindered, but they'll be attacking viciously from the front.

The Queen orders her soldiers to divide themselves and pincer the marauders in the tunnel. The marauders start to cut their way into the Rozoolliim, hoping to continue their advance. However, behind the marauders, the second half of the Warriors engage them, pressuring them from both sides.

The marauders are ferocious in their desperation. They cut through a small group of the Warriors heading them off and push themselves through and down the tunnel. Though not without casualties. They charge into the hatchery, where Rozooll waits for them...
Options:

>A). Rozooll unleashes magic on them. It'll be devastating on the marauders, but in her condition, it could have some major repercussions.
>B). Rozooll attempts to fend them off, while her Warriors attack from the rear. Rozooll may be weakened, but her sheer size and strength are still not to be taken lightly. However, this means that they could get close to her and her brood...

Rozooll speaks into the Captain's mind:
"Foolish little vermin! What sort of foolhardy bravery possessed you, that you thought you could come and dethrone such divinity? Speak quickly, for my patience is smaller than you. Why did you so persistently hunt my children?"

The man takes a moment to collect himself, then, at length, goes on:
"Your hides have fetched a hefty sum in the ports to the Southwest...they make for excellently light armors. But if you expect me to grovel at your feet or beg for mercy, then you'll be waiting for a long time. My men may snivel with their noses pressed to the dirt, but if you plan to kill me, then I will die with my pride intact!"

Immediately, Rozooll orders a marauder brought closer to her. She plucks him up with one swift motion and quickly devours him, much to the others' horror.
The remaining marauders all start frantically begging and pleading in broken Commontongue, but if falls on deaf ears. One by one, they others are devoured by the God-Queen, until only the Captain remains.

After frantic begging, Rozooll finally answers the broken man before her. She simply answers:

"No."

She orders some Workers to fetch some of the beasts they rode in on. After a few minutes, they bring a few in, struggling desperately to keep them in line. Rozooll casually lifts one, like the marauders before it, and devours it. After savoring the captain's horror, she does the same to the other. The captain is becoming rather unhinged, shouting to Rozooll:

"What do you want from me? Money? Information? Anything! Just let me go...or just put me out of this misery. Just get me away from all of this."

The Queen brings in a few Harbingers and Curious Ones. The Harbingers ask this man about maps and information about this 'port' he comes from. They ask him about his men, why he's done the things he's done. He answers it all. The city he hails from is called Calsiport, a large trade center far to the southwest, farther than Kaalun, and farther than the desert itself. He pulls a map from a pouch at his hip, giving it to a Curious One. It seems to detail the desert and some of the closely-outlying landmarks around it.

That seems to be everything he knows.
Satisfied with the information gathered, Rozooll orders the Warriors 'escort' the 'dear' captain to the Arena, to help the Curious Ones with 'examinations' of the captain's soldiers.

>Cont.

>>26108499

Roughly a day later, the captain is brought back before the Queen. She addresses him.

"Captain. Whether they care to or not, my enemies all come to serve me. Your soldiers already have. And so will you. Captain, you belong to Rozooll!"

The Queen focuses herself, invading the Captain's mind. He struggles at first, but his mental defenses were crushed quite some time ago. He succumbs to the mental invasion, solemnly proclaiming:
"I belong to you, my Queen."

The Captain is now bent to Rozooll's will. He could serve a multitude of purposes. What should it be?

>A). Eat him. Seeing his fall from grace was quite delicious. I'm sure it'll only sweeten the victory of devouring him.
>B). Keep him. His mind is sufficiently warped. He could be valuable in his combat training, among other things.

He simply nods, escorted out of the hatchery by Warriors.
Rozooll, though lamenting at the heavy losses of her children, feels thoroughly satisfied with the delightful feeling of dominating the once-proud Captain's will. His combat training will prove most beneficial.
After all, whether they care to or not, enemies of the Rozoolliim all shall serve Rozooll.

Warriors fight.
Scavengers farm and scavenge for supplies.
Workers build shit and do other manual labour.
Nomads have extra thick shells and are resistant to the desert elements.
Curious Ones are our scientists and inventors.
Tunnelers have sharp claws and can dig through the sand.
Harbingers can speak like people.

I think that's all of them.
