You are Taisa Tatsuo Miyamoto, toughened army colonel of the Japanese Empire. Experienced commander having toured through China, your ties to newly elected prime minister Tojo has brought you here to this strange new world. On the IJN minelayer Sarushima, you have sailed through a strange gate to this new horizon, the new world, the new China. A land pure and ripe for the conquest and glory.

Upon the first day of your arrival you have been welcomed with the warm heat of battle. With quick thinking and even quicker action your men won the day. The enemy’s ships are burning, his castle is surrounded. Your elite Marines led their glorious charge and now hold the perimeter of around your trapped foe.

That is, assuming there are any left inside.

Lt. Fukui and his marines guard the castle walls and surround the structure, we’ve got several prisoners detained on the field, there's wounded being treated on the ship infirmary by Dr. Eriko and Dr. Fumio. Sgt. Matsuo among them. From the bridge you stand in, captain Kaito orders to the crew to check for any structural damage.

Smoke billows from the burning ships and fortress, naval officers run across the deck on their tasks. You can see the prisoners out on the lake, barely, and also remember the gash on your arm from a stray arrow and a dark red stain that seems to be running down your arms length.

What is our first course of action, Taisa.
>>
My god it has RETURNED!!!
>>
Yare, Yare! My favorite co-quest is back!

>the gash on your arm from a stray arrow and a dark red stain that seems to be running down your arms length.
Well that's not good. Let's get our sexy doctor to give us some treatment.
>>
>>26078442
Chusa-sama has returned. BANZAI
>>
>>26078562
just wrap a bandage around it and suck it up. First things first is to get a sit rep on the fortress itself as well as any casualties we may have sustained.
>>
>>26078801
At the moment, the ships limited radio's are filled to capacity with ship status reports and maintenance checks. Important stuff your told, not only of the ships status of but of the gunboats.
Not that you couldn't easily order control of them, thereby depreciating your standing with the naval faction. . .
You could always decide to debark and check on the situation yourself (you always felt that was more effective) and bring anyone you see fit for assistance.

At best, the infirmary would be the most immediate source for wounded and casualties figures, pertaining to the ship at least.

>>26078673
In truth, the the good doctor is the bigger lure to the infirmary than your wound. Granted, there don't seem to be any bandages for the bleeding nearby. You hold your arm for the moment.
>>
>>26079001
Infirmary.
most of our guys are still on the ship but the marines. it'll be easy to judge casualties there.
>>
>>26079001
Tell kaito to move over, just quick enough for a sitrep. We'll get a longer status report later.
>>
>>26079001
Shouldn't these ship reports contain stuff like casualtys? Get our report and radio access.

If anyone disagree's, show them why you're in charge.
>>
>>26079001
We should get that wound looked at in the infirmary.
We are a long way from Japan and antibiotics. We should not take the chance of getting an infection.
>>
>>26079191
>>26079398
You move toward the radio’s and ask to use them for a situation report. Kaito nods and steps aside. Actually, that went better than you expected. That was the first time you’ve gotten along with a sailor.

Messaging officers here and there gives a clearer view of our current status.

>No reported casualties, but plenty of wounded in the ship infirmary (around 22 confirmed so far, but more expected) and a few of the gunboat crew.
>We have about 16 prisoners all detained on shore. Our men don't understand their language, but they understand actions and for now are complacent to our gestures.
>Fukui and his men report no casualties or wounded to speak of, and for now are holding the castle outside until further orders. No sign of movement from within.
>The ship appears to be in good condition, despite a few scattered arrows and a rather large rock lodged in one of the portholes. The gunboats have no damage to speak of.
>Ammo and medical supplies have only moderately been depleted, we will be able to fight a battle like this everyday for the rest of two months should we need to.

As if this were a battle you muse, more like the average mop up you did every other day in China. The fight has gone extraordinarily well. Ah well, let them revel in victory.
>>
>>26079736
Out of the 16, find the one that looks likes the leader of the group, execute the rest.
We cannot afford to care for many prisoners.
>>
>>26079856
that's just dumb they could have intel
>>
>>26079856
We don't even know if any are specialists that could be useful and you want to simply throw them away?

We survived a tour of duty in China; we are not that stupid.
>>
>>26079944
the lead prisoner has intel.
We could let 5 live instead of one.
I'm just throwing ideas out
>>
>>26080027
>I'm just throwing ideas out
Yeah, bad ones, like a fresh-faced officer from Tokyo.
>>
>>26079694
>>26079100
In the meantime, you decide to head to the infirmary. An old memory of a simple cut ending up engulfing a man in infection and gangrene beckons you to at least get it checked.

The hallway to the ship infirmary is lined with soldiers, sailors, and wounded, but all in high spirits. Despite several arrows sticking out of some and stains of blood everywhere, talk and laugh of victory fill the air and raise your own spirits. As you walk past they salute and give an ethusaistic “taisa.”
Inside the infirmary itself, Dr. Eriko, Dr. Fumio, and several assistants run to and fro, busily tending to the most severe wounds. A man gives out a yell and sighs as an arrow is pulled from him.

You make your presence known by clearing your throat.
“Hai! Taisa!” The med staff seem to jump and salute, but you signal them to relax. “Taisa, your arm, please sit."

Dr. Eriko personally attends to you while her brother takes over elsewhere. You feel the sting of antiseptic. A good feel, you've still got your arm and reminds you're alive.

>>26079856
>>26079944
>>26080006
>>26080027
As your ponder the fate of these prisoners, remembering how you're not unfamiliar with simple executions but appreciate the value of intelligence, you as wonder about your next course of action.

Namely, if you should debark the ship. And who you should take along.
>>
>>26079736
Inquire as to how many bodies of the enemy there are.

Then, have the marines fan out to secure the entire wall and form a perimeter. If we have anyone who's particularly talented with languages, send them to deal with the prisoners. If not, store the prisoners in the fort's dungeons/stockade.

Let's bring the ships in closer to the fort, and begin offloading troops and supplies from the ships. They're vulnerable and useless where they are.
>>
>>26079856
>We cannot afford to care for many prisoners.
Why not? They're terrified of us, and we can easily quell them.

If the issue is food, they took care of themselves before we showed up. Now there's less of them, meaning more food.
>>
>>26080086
>>26080140
Keep the prisoners. Let's debark our army into this fort and establish it as a base of operations, considering its proximity to our entryway, it shall make a valuable point of contact and security for reinforcements.
>>
>>26080140
this and where have you been good sir
>>
>>26080086
Take Fumio onto shore. He's the brains of our army right now.
>>
>>26080203
>Training for a world tournament for Isshinryu Karate. Basically, a martial arts Olympics event. Placed 3rd place in both of my divisions I participated in.
>>
>>26080253
No way. He's too valuable to risk until we're sure that everything is secure.
>>
>>26080351
Everything's practically secure, or dead. Same difference.
We can at least take him onto shore and keep him in safe company if we need him.
>>
>>26080140
>>26080186
From previous estimates, expected enemy casualties should number around 100-150. Considering the nature of sinking and burning ships, this would be difficult to ascertain, but the floating bodies and corpses on the castle courtyard (or rather the pieces) support this figure.

As for the ship, depth sounding by the gunboats has revealed the water too shallow for the minelayer to move close enough to debark supplies and men directly. With whatever dock these locals had now aflame, you'll need to debark via the gunboats.

>>26080383
>>26080351
>>26080253
You consider taking Dr. Fumio along with you. Having someone with education would be useful towards any language or cultural barriers you might expect. You also note the risk of losing perhaps your most important asset.
>>
>>26080481
>possibly 100 enemy casualties
Oh boy, I sure don't want to be drinking the river water anytime soon.
We should clean that up later.

Take Fumio but surround him with men.
>>
>>26080481
We shall have to construct our own docks, then, in time. Inevitable, but this is a good impetus.

Let us begin debarking with the gunboats, have the ships weigh anchor to conserve fuel for now. In the meantime, Dr. Fumio sounds like an excellent choice. Let's go with him, as well as an escort detail of marines.
>>
>>26080572
I'm sure they're not all in the water, we blew up a crapload of them just trying to leave the docks and more are probably in the castle.
Besides, the bodies will float downstream, not our problem.
>>26080481
Take dr fumio, but keep a close watch.
>>
>>26080572
>>26080605
>>26080668
“Dr. Eriko, I plan to debark the ship. Would you mind if I borrow your brother ?”

“Oh no, no it's fine Taisa-dono. Me and my nurses have things under control.”

“Good. Hakase, if you will. Sgt. you too."

You take note of future plans to build a dock, but for now elect to debark on the gunboats. You load onto the gunboats, followed by Sgt. Matsuo and several men.

You organize the debarkation, and anchoring of the minelayer.

As the boat moves toward shore, you and the men can’t help but stare at the huge water lilies that float by. Like something out of a story, they are incredulously huge, one almost as wide as a house. Strange and beautiful fish of complex colors swirl all around, as does blood and body parts.

Normally, fish means food but the enemy corpses seem to offset that a bit.
Now you step onto land, that the Marines earlier were all too eager to take (All the better for them. You were never one for heading a charge, you know, or rather you knew, far too many fellow officers who were into that. You’re here, they aren’t.).
Sgt. Matsuo overlooks unloading of weapons and supplies. This will continue for the rest of the day until all non naval personal have debarked.

You look to see the group of prisoners, while to the south, the magnificent castle in all it's battletorn glory, and Fukui's men on the battlements.

Walking onto the courtyard through a large hole that was once a gate, the castle stands before you. A great structure of wood, towers and spires pointing to the sky, all atop a stone foundation. Fumio seems awestruck as well.

"Taisa. This castle has elements Japanese, Chinese, and some other culture entirely. It's impressive no?"

"Yes, I used to visit such places with my father."

It’s brings a sense of awe and nostalgia, despite being pocketed with craters flowing with smoke and fire. Approaching Fukui, he gives a quick salute.

“Taisa!”

"Chui. I trust your men are capable of escorting us into the castle."

"Hai. We've been eager to enter the place for a while now."

You creep in behind your men Fukui close behind. You've got your pistol in hand, and a sword by your side. That’s always been enough to make you feel confident.
The inside of the castle is even more elegant. Giant red pillars, embroidered with golden figures of strange beasts, fabrics and curtains of many colors line the walls, floors tiled with images of strange tales. Upon further inspection of the room, it’s then you notice the dozen men, prostrating themselves on the ground and facing you.

You quietly motion your men to surround and guard our flanks, but freeze as a voice speaks.

“Mighty ones, hear the unworthy voice which speaks. I humbly beg your mercy and spare us our lives.”

Japanese. Perfect Japanese, almost as if you were hearing your own thoughts.
>>
>>26081260
"You can speak Japanese? Can you speak their language as well?"
>>
>>26081260
A translator would be useful.

If none of the other men are useful, we can at least let them live while he serves as our voice to them. Until he can teach one of our men the language.

It comes from the man to the front of the group, kneeling over some sort of rug. The rug is white, but marked with strange runes painted in an ink that seems to glisten. You feel a faint sense of . . .power emanating from it. Like a tingling in your bones. It’s hard to explain.

You walk up to him, “Look at me.” The man stares up at you behind fearful eyes, face covered with blood, sweat, and ash. You notice his face betrays that he is neither Chinese, nor Japanese, but an entirely new race you have never seen before. “Who are you?”

“I-I. . .I am Lao Fuum. Castle Keeper for Captain Yuusha.

As he speaks, it’s impossible not to notice it. The words you hear do not match the movement of his mouth.

>>26081333
>>26081390
"You can speak Japanese?"

“Ni-hongo?” He seems puzzled at the word. “This humble one does not understand, sire. I cannot tell what language you are hearing. A lowly worm as I knows little of the magic arts.”

His even speech seems to continue after his mouth has shut, or ceases though his mouth moves. At this, Dr. Fumio’s curiosity gets the best of him.

“What? Magic arts?” he interjects.

“Yes. You can see the prayer mat I am no, yes? I know that the mages of old crafted them, imbued with runes written in their blood, so the gods could understand their prayers.”

The doctor’s eyes seem to twinkle. “And this mat, it allows us to understand what you’re saying, even if we don’t know our languages?”

The man looks at Fumio, with a similar curiousness but also caution. “Yes. He who holds it hears all speech in his tongue, and all men hear his words in theirs. It is an ancient relic, from before the arrival of the foreign devils and the Rings of Tongues. This is not known to you Sire?”

Strangely, you hear the word Gaijin, but somehow know he isn’t speaking of the west.
>>
>>26081418
Take the mats to be studied and reproduced. The markings need to be studied and we should keep the magic user close at hand.

Magic is a force we should study and understand.

Sweep for anyone else who knows magic (or any special talents) among the prisoners and convene with the scientists.
>>
>>26081487
Concurred.

Further, does this fellow have any additional knowledge of where to procure more mats? These (likely very sexy) foreign devils could present a risk to our operations. We should see what we can find out, using the rug to interpret/translate.
>>
>>26081418
We should also learn the recent history of this land. Whose at war with whom? Maps or atlas would be nice.

Have one of the prisoners who can read, stand on the mats to inform us too.

>Take the mats to be studied and reproduced.
Aren;t we in the middle of negotiations of surrender?

We need to press on to more important matters. Also we really should avoid displaying ignorance to magic.

Well then we ought to stop questioning them about it, at least in public.

You notion for the doctor to be silent. Dammit, if there’s one thing about negotiation you know it’s never show ignorance when negotiating. “We’ll have time for that later, Hakase. For now let’s ask more important questions. Namely, what is this place, who are you, and who is this “Yuusha”

“Sire? I know not which shogun lays claim to this region, but surely you have heard of the great captain Yuusha? He’s a captain of Rao the Red, one of the 7 pirate lords.”

“Did you say, pirate?”

At your question, the man pauses and looks at you. “Yes. . . we are the Bandits of Lilly Lake. This is his. . .was his, fortress in the province.”

This spawns a moment of silence. It’s then you notice it. The mismatched armor and weapons of the men; none of them have any sign of uniformity. It dawns on you that these men aren’t soldiers. While most everyone is ambivalent, Fukui seems to furrow his brow a bit.

(Bandits eh? You’ve dealt with thieves before, harshly, but understand all men have their reasons. Hunger is a universal employer. Certainly you’ve had quite the many similar experiences scouring for food on Chinese soil.)

The revelation of these pirates sheds a new light onto your beaten foe, and does not bode well for them. Ponding on how to continue, tour train of thought is broken by a growl. A deep, guttural, animalistic growl that almost shakes your core. Everyone around you hears it, looking about.

"Taisa, did you hear that?" Fukui asks.

"Hai, I did."

Lao also turns for a moment, betraying his knowledge.

“What was that?" You ask.

"Sire, 'tis a beast locked in the dungeon. One of Master Yuusha's pets.”

"What sort of beast?"

“The Gaki”

As he almost whispers this, the roar is hear again.

"What is this Gaki?"

“A great hungry beast Master Yuusha captured from the forest of curses. It's been slumbering in the deepest dungeon for months, underneath the castle. I fear that battle and the smell of blood has awoken it.”

A final roar brings about this revelation. As things thicken, you can almost feel the situation escalating slipping from your grasp. Everyone’s eyes are on you. You need to make some orders, now.

"Then take us. You, radioman, message Matsuo to bring the prisoners to a central location and contain them there. Fukui, bring your best men with us.”

As your orders are follow, lao reluctantly picks up the mat, and ties it around his neck, like a robe. Down winding stairs through dark tunnels lit by torch. You pass more men, tending to their wounded or dying, who bow before you on the ground. Now, at, deep under the earth, you face a great round door of iron. A bright idea seems to fall from heaven.

"Lao, lend me the mat."

"Sire?"

"Now."

He hands over the mat to you, and you wrap it around your neck similarly. You walk up to the door, and with a loud kick, the door rings out with an echo.

Instead of an animals roar, you are greeted with something else.

Voices. Not like the ones at the gate. This one is more like a throng, a crowd bigger than any you've heard. Hundreds of distorted different voices crying out like a deep growl, of men, woman, and children crying out in a roar. All of them saying many things and yet all the same thing all at once. One word sticks out more than ever.
"Hunger"

Just hearing it makes your own stomach seem to growl.

"Can you hear me?"

The throng of voices reply simultanously. "Hear?" "Listen." "Not master." "Food" "Hunger" all in a few seconds.

"The beast knows no master but the hand that feeds" Lao says. "It knows only how to kill and how to eat. I myself am its master, Yuusha ensured this by ritual. But I dare not enter without a token of offering." Lao points to several large jars laying about the door.

"What is he saying?" Fumio asks.

"He says we've got to feed it. And Lao here knows how. In fact, he's going to open this door for us, right now."

"You two, take those jars and follow Lao. The rest of you, keep a beat on that door. If anything not human wants to come out, I want it filled with hot lead."

“ If the beast is loose, we will die”

“Open it. If you are the beasts master, you will not be harmed no? If not, you are a dead man either way.”

Lao understand, and reluctantly beings to lift the heavy iron bolts. Then turns to turn a strange crank mechanism, which slowly lifts open the door. And then, nothing but silence and dust comes out of the pitch dark of the room.
Then, an explosion of sound.

"FOOOOOD"

The cry is so loud, some of the men cover there ears and a light warm breeze comes through.

As Lao’s knees tremble, a sense of practicality kicks in, and you order several marines to personally escort him inside with the jars.

After a moment, you hear a loud crunching noise. The marines call forth. It’s safe, but there’s a sense of urgency for you to come.
>>
>>26092719
>but there’s a sense of urgency for you to come.
Then we'd best be timely about it

ONWARDS

TENNOUHEIKA BANZAI!
>>
>>26092719
The marines stare into a room on the left, lit by a torch and barred by a strange silvery metal. Behind it, the object of their attention.

A heaving mass, bigger than a bear, skin the color of crimson. It has the figure of a man, with arms, legs, a head, but the similarities end there. Its limbs are as thick as your torso, while its actual torso is the width of three men, and a stomach swollen as to bursting. It has a human head, small rounded shape, black hair with small rounded horns sticking out. The eyes are blindfolded, but below it a pigs snout and tusks and gaping mouth studded with dagger like teeth of all sizes, and belching hot steam with each breath that seems lift it’s entire body up and down. It’s hands and legs are tied by cuffs and chains made of the same glistening metal the bars of it’s cage are made from.

As you and the rest stare in awe at the beast, Lao sighs and seems relieved.

“The beast is secured by enchanted chains of mithril.”

“Mithril?”

“Yes. It is like steel, save lighter, and the mages use it in the arts. Master Yuusha embued these bars with magic to keep back the beast. I am relieved it’s secure. So long as it cannot see, it cannot escape. I will now open the cage and feed the creature.”

As the sentence leaves his mouth, another voice speaks.
>>
>>26092780
Instantly everyone turns about, to face another cage opposite the gaki. This one has no light, and. A ragged hand sticks out, and speaks again before Lao interrupts.

“Sire no! He means you harm. Do not open the cage.

"Silence worms!" Lao yells into the darkness. “Sire, these are slaves. Not worthy of our attention. Pay no heed to the vermin.”

The voice speaks again. It is frail and elderly. You take a torch and place it near the cage, to come face to face with an man in tattered clothes, face shrunken with age and hunger, shaking as he stands. Behind him, yet more voices seem to whsiper.

"No sire, trust this humble ones voice. I speak for your saftey. If you open the cage, the beast shall consume you."

"Lies!" Lao screams. "Sire, kill these ungrateful scum who dare insult us."

What is your course of action? Whom do we believe?

brb
>>
>>26092842
Why would a Gaki need to be fed, when its nature is to starve. We have no need for the cave to be opened whether it's safe or not. We should say so, and if Lao still tries to open the cage, shoot him.
>>
So the dude inside the cage is telling you to NOT open the cage?

Also, I thought the Gakis were spirits of hunger. This one looks pretty buff.
Unless the dude inside the cage is actually the Gaki, and the chained beast is something else, possibly an Oni?

Either way, we've seen enough. Leave the room.
>>
>>26092842
I believe that you should put the word "quest" in the fucking subject, you mongrel
>>
>>26092894
True, that big thing looks nothing like a gaki.
>>
>>26092842
to me, it seems that this 'Lao' thinks he can get out of this predicament he has found himself in, and seeing as this slave has nothing to gain from this, I reckon that letting the thing out of that cage is a very bad idea, and is exactly what Lao wants

So, I vote we shoot Lao in the knee (only 1, we are merciful) for lying to us, let it serve a lesson, lie or try to deceive us, and he will lose alot more
>>
Only Lao can control the beast, right? What if the process of opening the cage and feeding it will release it? What if he sics it on us?
What if the cage actually contains the Gakis, and THEY are sicced on us?
No, the cage stays closed. If Lao tries to open it, he's dead.

We need people skilled in identifying these creatures. Historians, tactical theologists, etc.
>>
>>26092842
"I know no allies but the men brought through with us. I will hear both sides. whoever is lying to me shall be punished.

Either way, Gaki are supposed to be like emaciated looking humans, not that.
>>
>>26092842
Kill the beast in its cage. And kill the laying pirate as well. They are PIRATES for fucks sake they are NOT to be trusted.
>>
We just got here. Personally, I'm all for not trusting either the slaves or the mage guy. I say we leave everyone in their cages and finish securing the castle.
>>
I say we restrain Laos. For all we know, only he can do the mat trick. Gun the beast, careful not to shoot the bandage or mithril.

>>26094130

"I know no allies but the men brought through with us. I will hear both sides. whoever is lying to me shall be punished. Old man, we are told this beast is a Gaki."

"The beast behind that cage is the Gaki, and at the same time it is not. The spirits are forbidden to enter our realm. As such, they must steal a mortal body. This creature had wandered into the cursed forest, and the Gaki has taken it to feed it's own hunger."

"And if this beast is bound in it's chains, it cannot hurt us. Is this true?"

"It is true that the beast cannot harm you in it's chains. There is truth that the beast is tied to Lao, and will harm him neither. Lao wishes to lift the cage bolts and feed the beast the human waste in those jars, to remind him who is his master. In it's chains, it cannot harm you.

But tell me, sire, do you not notice the keys in Lao's hands?"

Before Lao can move, you draw your sword and place it up against his throat. "Show me your hands."

Lao freezes, but slowly lifts his arms. The glint of silvery keys appear in his hands.
>>
>>26094480
I say we inquire on *hypothetical* methods of getting rid of the Gaki. If swords aren't effective, that's an issue. If they/guns are too, but the spirit is released and possesses someone, that's an issue too.

We should definitely restrain the guy at this point, and take the keys.

We have no idea how trustworthy this guy is, if he's even human. If he's a normie, then he's probably trying to play favoritism to the new lords of the castle.
>>
>>26094480
>>26094480
"Now tell me, Sire, do you see any lock on the cage door?"

The cage door is held by several bolts, like you saw on the door to this room, but no keyholes or any of that sort.

"Lao wished to free the beast, to consume you."

"Taisa, what's going on?" Fumio and the rest seem anxious and confused, and almost speaks for them. "Who is that old man? Why are you doing this?"
>>
>>26094700
Wait. This guy doesn't have the robe. I thought you needed the robe on you to speak Japanese? Or is the mat/robe an AoE thing?
>>
>>26094769
You are currently wearing the Mat. Only you can understand what he is saying. The rest only look on in confusion.

>>26094691
Sword still on Lao's neck, you continue to ask."Old man, how do we get rid of this Gaki?"

"It will be hard. Many lives were sacrificed to the beast by these men. I have seen person after person thrown in as sacrifice, both living and dead. For every man it eats, it gains the strength and health of that man. For every pound of flesh and drop of blood, and equal amount must be shed. A gaki that has eaten ten men will require injuries of enough to kill ten men. "

"and how many has the creature eaten?"

The man seems to pause, in thought, then speaks.

". . . I have seen dozens pass through the beasts mouth. But the men speak of hundreds."
>>
>>26094769
>I thought you needed the robe on you to speak Japanese?
The wearer of the robe hears everything in his native tongue
>>
>>26094840
Sounds like the solution is a machine gun, fired from a close enough range and in short enough bursts stray shots wont happen.

Explosives seem risky.
>>
>>26094955
Sounds to me more like an army all in one monster.

Hmm, we should ask if there's a way to transfer control of the beast from Lao. Speaking of which, we should hear from his side.
>>
I suggest we explain the situation to the others. Fumio may be able to confirm/deny certain things, even if his knowledge may not be as reliable as a native.

While this guy is superstitious, these are mythological beasts and rituals are followed out of their sense of practicability. So we should follow them when it makes sense.
>>
>>26094971
Keeping it alive seems too risky. Even Lao was afraid of it.
>>
>>26095097

Who knows? Our character has been established as being average to below average in diplomacy. Warfare is what he's good at. So this isn't an optimal situation.

Several different options to destroy this monster come to mind. Most notably some well placed machine gun fire into the cage. The need to shed blood and flesh pound for pound could be a difficulty though.

"Behind me? Yes, there is one."
A pair of feet steps into the light, followed by legs,

followed by a woman. A young one. In no better conditition than the old man.

Only her arms serve to cover her.

"Slaves we are sire, but slaves we were not. I shall speak the truth, though you believe me or not, you are in the presence of royalty. This is my Lady Nu, daughter of Shogun Kui. I am her advisor. Yuusha had kidnapped us for ransom. This oath I swear, and may the gods strike me down were it false."

>>
Fumio practically insist you explain, and this you do to the best of your abilities.

"I see. But what of Lao's side of this?"

You lower your blade, and decide to give Lao a turn.

"Sire. By now you can see the mad ambition this old fool has. His impudence to think one wise and powerful as you could be fooled by such a fantasical story, and his blasphemous oath.

It is true I am the beasts master. And that I indeed had these keys to unlock the beast. . .but. . . I would never dare challenger your terrible wrath with such a mindless creature! You could easily as slay me with your powerful staffs and kill the beast, as you did- as you did to my brothers"

As you retell Lao's side, it becomes evident of the doubt both sides have sown into their respective defenses. Fukui recommends the prisoners in poor condition to at least be given medical treatment, to which Fumio concurs.

"If they are slaves, we have nothing to lose. If they are royalty, we have much to gain."

What thinks you, Taisa.
>>
>>26102033
Does it look like the cage can be moved? Because I don't know about you, but one or a few 13mm or 80mm rounds would be the equivalent of a few hundred dead humans.

Only issue is that cloth thing, if that isn't superstition.
>>
>>26102386
Same guy as ^

>"Now tell me, Sire, do you see any lock on the cage door?"

He just contradicted himself, didn't he?

"How could I unlock it if there's no keyhole? This is just a key for something else"

"Oh, this is a key to unlock it, but I'd never do that."

The guy is dishonest and shouldn't be trusted.

I say we treat the slaves, keep them under watch. Lao hasn't implicated them as being anything more than slaves the entire time, so they're clearly just human.
>>
>>26102386
The way I imagine it, we have to shed the blood and flesh of hundreds of people. That would be no good in a cramped tunnel would it?

>>26102364
What exactly makes Lao the beasts master? Can control of this be transfered? Would Lao be able to kill the beast easily?
>>
>>26102457
I think he meant there were no key locks on the cage door, but that the key could be used to unchain the monster once Lao got in.
>>
>>26102364
I agree with Fukui and I don't trust Lao at all
>>
>>26102573
In which case we might be fucked anyway, if it can break the cages after consuming waste.

He seemed to implicate that he had no keys to free the Gaki IMO.

"And that I indeed had these keys to unlock the beast. . .but. . . "

All of it just seems fishy. He's just trying to kiss ass so we"ll let our guard down. Both are making wild claims we can't confirm.

>>26102661
>>26102616
>>26102457
All facts considered, that being there are few, in your military wisdom you decide to treat both parties as equally unreliable in the truth. As such, Lao will remain at your service and be forbidden to enter the dungeon, while you keep the keys on your person.

As for this Nu and her "advisor" you elect to give them medical treatment, and personally give them quarter on the ship seperate from Lao (and ostensibly the army men. Thankfully you managed to sneak a naked woman out if their sights. Won't let that mistake happen again!). Fukui and captain Kaito will ensure their saftey aboard personally.

Each will be questioned seperately, and their stories reviewed and scrutinized. The gaki is fed the waste, groaning woefully, but seems to slumber again. The door is sealed, and marines posted at it at all times.

Outside, Matsuo has been a busy bee. Reinforcing the gaps in the wall with machine gun nests and barbed wire, setting up medical tents, unloading and storing ammunition, food, building materials. He's turned a part of the castle into a makeshift bunk room.

A man with impetus! If you only had 12 of him you could win the war.

As for now, you find yourself in a rather lofty masters bedroom. Once yuusha's abode it seems.

The red and white moon outside the window in the night sky signal the end of your first day in the new world.

For you can take your mind off such strange events, and focus on more familiar territory. Supplies, men, and building orders. Your first day has ended, but the conquest has only begun.

[ ] open to building requests/miscellanous plans
>>
>>26103805
A dock for the ships would be good. Repairing the castle walls would be good, too. Maybe add some sentry towers for machine guns/marksmen?

We could use the castle as HQ and at least have the army troopers reside in the castle, if not marines too. Although Navy & Army should probably be segregated.

Setting up patrols would be a good idea.

As would asking both parties about the outlying area, like any trade routes, villages etc. Anything that's repeated by both could be considered true.

Oh. Do we have any reloading presses built? Any chemists, armourers or gunsmiths? Because we could just collect our brass casings for reuseable ammo.

A latrine, and getting the corpses cleared. Imperial soldiers should be given a proper funeral at the least. Rest could be cremated or whatever.
>>
>>26103805
well we need to get the dock rebuilt and get the wall repaired I can't thinking of any other building ideas right now. maybe have some men scout the area around the city

...gaki ideas anyone?
>>
>>26104061
If the cannons give off casings instead of just shells, those could be turned into IEDs I think?

Layers of sand/charcoal can be used to filter the water. Boiling it would then make it safe to drink. A citstern would give us extra water. Maybe do it by having it connected to gutters we'd build on the castle?

Wood Gasifier would be good to get spare gas. Soap is a priority if we don't have enough for 2 months.

Power is obviously a long-term thing to consider, but theres: pedal power, wind power and hydro power to consider. Oh, and ethanol. I don't think solar power existed back then.

Actually OP, do radios work through the gate? I noticed you took some clear cues from the nazis in fantasy land quest, so I assume yes? If so, we should give a full debriefing to command. Maybe request some oil surveyors. Because if fossil fuel is found, that'd be a huge boon for the Emprie.

Ask them about any mines, maybe inquire them on oil shales/natural gas somehow.

Maybe. I know there's one namefag and at least one other anon than me, so it's a bit quiet compared to earlier anyway.

What do you guys think we should get for reinforcements? I don't think we"ll have much choice with avoiding the batshit politico or yakuza. The mercs would need to be reined in while we'd need a way to keep Hayato from killing us. We're connected to the prime minister though, so that should give us some protection.

Actually, we'd also need to keep Takihiko & Hayato from killing eachother. So we have Navy/Marine - Army conflict & Kempeitei -Merc conflict are going to be things we"ll have to minimize.

Getting the marines armed/trained with merc weapons would be ideal. It seems like they'd get along best with all 3 factions. We just need to keep the Kempeitei & Mercs apart, Army & Navy apart.
>>
Can the minelayer go past the bridges north of this lake? What about the river south?
>>
>>26105349
No idea. But WW2 armies should be prepared for erecting bridges vehicles can cross over, and presumably ones that'd collapse temporarily to allow ships through.
>>
Bumping, yes.

We should get geologists queued if we have none so we can find oil. The Empire /needs/ oil, and if there's oil here, then that's all the more reason for them to support our cause with greater assets.
>>
>>26105084
Sure we can't try for some bit of integreation?
Segregation could only aggravate these issues.
>>
>>26105932

>>26109435
OP hinted that Hayato's & Takihiko's element wouldn't get along. IRL, the Navy & Army didn't exactly see eye to eye on the war and from what I heard, didn't get along either.

Having Marines work with either Mercs or Political officers work. So does Army. You just can't mix Army & Navy (dunno about our elite Marines), nor can we mix the other two groups.

Well, we certainly know the Marines we had played nice in Hong Kong. Our army soldiers, particularly considering that one of the named NPCs fought in Nanking? Thaat won't go over well.
>>
Bumping but eh.

Way I see it...

Kempeitei - For diplomacy & propaganda during & outside of combat.

Mercs - Get them to supplement the Marines with arms/training. Have them deal with subterfuge & economic deals. Keep an eye on them though via Marines, maybe.

Marines - Other than being our elite? Acting as our other public face, especially if we take over any villages.

Army - General combat. Not ideal for occupying places where we want to win hearts and minds. Can be used with mercs for dirtier stuff. The more experienced armymen could occasionally supplement the marines.
>>
>>26109586
I have the feeling that this excursion will depend more on the Army's tactics than the Navy's.

These people are scheming and duplicitous, our limited contact with them has already uncovered that. A hard hand will be needed to keep them in line, preserve our technological edge and prevent betrayals,
>>
>>26113574
Mhm, although naval power is something to appreciate. Marines also have a separate value.

Status Report.

Troops:
>[ ] 1 Sarushima Minelayer, armed with 1 13mm AA gun and 2 80mm Naval gun, carrying ammunition, medical supplies, and fuel.
>[ ] 2 Gunboats, armed with Type 92 heavy machine guns and knee mortars
>[ ] Two squads of IJM commandos
>[ ] 40 IJA infantrymen. These are broken down into 4 squads of 10, including a medic and a machine gunner, as well as rifelmen.
>[ ] 60 IJN naval sailors. Though able to fire and carry a rifle, they do not soldiers make, but can assist in general construction tasks.
>[ ] 5 Combat engineers, able to supervise erecting of fortifications and assist in military constructions.

Currently Built/Commandeered :
>[ ] Castle Command Room [Primitive]
>[ ] Castle Mess Hall [Basic]
>[ ] Triage Tent [Basic]
>[ ] Castle Barracks [Primitive]
>[ ] Dungeons/Makeshift POW area [Contains around 30 men, including Lao]
>[ ] Castle Garderobes (Latrines)
>[ ] Machine gun nests

In addition, there is both more rooms vacated with the castle, as well as the Minelayer, capable of habitation by 90 men and with established infirmary, mess hall, and primary command center. Marines and Navy will be (unnoficially/de facto) stationed here, while our army forces are stationed in the castle. Fukui and Kaito are charged over the released enemy prisoners.

Current Build Orders Queued:
>[ ] Docks [Primitive] ETA 4 days
>[ ] Water Purification Cistern [Primitive] ETA 3 days
>[ ] Wood gas Generator [Basic] ETA 1 day
>[ ] Castle Radio/telecommunication room [Basic] ETA 2 days
>>
>>26116274
How many prisoners do we have?
>>
>>26104061
As for now, gaps in the castle front walls have been secured via barbed wire and makeshift machine gun nests. They can be reinforced into wooden walls proper and/or pillboxes, and this should take about 4 days.
Miscelanous holes in the castle roof, building walls, and general damage is being repaired as we speak and shall take only a day to simply board up.

The addition of sentry towers will take a bit longer, but can be expected to be completely in no more than 3 days.

Though we do not have the equipment for reloading presses nor the capability to produce gunpowder, casings and shells are being stored for potential future recycling.

A schedule of rotating patrols and sentries has been established. The collection of corpses is underway, and a simple mass grave and burning of bodies have been planned.

On this matter of collection of the dead, the old man, who has revealed himself as Rioyuu, again stated that corpses were normally thrown into the Gaki's cage by Yuusha's orders, either via the doorway or a hole from above the room. When questioned, Lao again denied the accusations of feeding humans to the gaki, but did not deny this as a possibility.
>>
>>26104239
Lao has stated that a month ago, his master along with a large contingent of men and treasure left for a "Court of Thieves", some sort of meeting for the "Pirate Lords", across the endless seas. When questioned, Rioyuu also states the same. Both deny knowledge of when Yuusha will return.

>>26104713
Radio communication via the Ship's radios has been established, and in fact the entire battle and events of today has been closely watched by those on the otherside.

In fact, command is urgently pressing for a status report. This is also a good opportunity to request any additional supplies or specialist.

Hayato and Takehiko are both expected to arrive on the next gate opening, along with their men and supplies, and this is beyond our control.
>>
>>26116686
What about any outlying towns or cities?

Specialists I could see us needing:
-Shinto Priests, because they'd be familiar with things present that are based on myth.
-Linguists since we're the only ones capable of speaking to the natives.
-A biologist or something to check on the Gaki.
-Geologists so we can find vital resources like oil & iron ore. Both are vitally needed for the Empire so I can't see this being ignored.

An armourer+gunsmith with any supplies necessary to set up a Reloading facility would be important.

In order of necessity I'd go Linguists>Armourer/Gunsmith>Geologists>Priests>Biologists

I vote on giving out the full truth. When we came, we were attacked by pre-gunpowder soldiers. We opened fire on the castle, made a beach head and stormed the castle. Surviving enemies surrendered, and were able to communicate with the commander via a magical carpet translator.

The combatants we faced were pirates who serve a 'pirate lord', who's currently on leave with a large force that may or may not have more magical equipment. So maybe more boats. I'd request more men but we're already getting that.

We also came across prisoners who claimed to be of royal blood. In the prison we discovered a 'Gaki' bound in something called Mithril and apparently bound to a mortal body.

Fuel and ammo can be a lesser priority if HQ helps us set up means to reload our ammo. Things like medicine, soap & rations would be all we'd really need then.
>>
>>26116475
Exactly 32 men, 16 of which were captured from the escaping ships. 14, including Lao, surrendered within the castle.

>>26104713
>>26107738
The concept of oil or gas from the ground is completely foreign to these people, who consider it a form of magic.

>>26105932
>>26109586
On further inspect, the bridge appears to be a pontoon type. Lao states the men were supposed to retract this, but in the heat of the battle they simply planned to plow through it.

>>26105084
>>26110776
Unfortunately, command has prescheduled the majority of next reinforcements. Hayato and Takehiko, and related escorts, are coming.

Though this worries you, for good reason, the rest of your forces are agreeable to this. Fukui and the marines consider Hayato a teacher and his men as loyal servants of emperor, while Takehiko seems to have been working over our army faction even before we arrived (and after. Apparently the men discovered a large box of alchohol with the message "from uncle Takehiko", which has become his moniker by our army factions)

We do have several options however. We can choose 2 of the following
[ ] 1 Type 97 Chi-Ha Tank
[ ] 2 squads of combat engineers
[ ] Non reproducable building supplies (bags of concrete, bricks, steel, ect.)
[ ] Other requests

Also, brb.
>>
>>26117001
>Other requests

Could any of the specialists/supplies in >>26116964 be requested? What about artillery? Ships/boats? Otherwise 2 squads of engineers + building supplies would be good.

The pontoon bridge is retractable to the north. The river to the south is blocked off by a large waterfall. Depth sounding has indeed confirmed the minelayer to be capable of navigating the north side of the river, and is in fact unnaturally deep. However, it is risky to only send our only link to the homeland, and arguably our greatest military asset, into uncharted territory.

>What about any outlying towns or cities?
Lao states at least 5 small villages surrounding. The concept of miles and kilometers seems to be intranslatable or Lao is very ignorant of distances, but he states on foot these take around 1-3 days worth of walking to reach.
Rioyuu states he knows absolutely nothing of the surrounding countryside.

Biologist, Geologists, and Linguists are being requisitioned. As for the request of religious assistance, this is currently being reviewed by command but duly noted.

Reloading capabilities, as well as an armorer and gunsmith is also been requisitioned.

Command has stated dubiousness over the magical aspects of your full report, but have also duly noted them as well and are also reviewing your situation as we speak. Your orders still stand. Secure the area until further reinforcements can arrive and assess any valuable resources. For now, prisoners and the gaki are to be treated as potential valuables, but can be pressed into whatever service you wish them to do.

What of Tekehiko bringing along "spare supplies"? Spare armament to better arm the marines, luxury goods for morale and as a bartering good.
>>
>>26116686
What about the foreign devils? I wanna know about these guys.
>>
>>26117194
On that note, are any of those weapons chambered to use japanese ammunition? It'd be a very bad idea to add half a dozen small arm ammo types to our logistics pool.
>>
So our marines are listening to a zealous fanatic.
Our army guys are being won over by a crimeboss and mercenaries.
And Army and Navy don't mix.

Is there anyone here really loyal to us?
>>
>>26117310
>Is there anyone here really loyal to us?
Our sword and our gun.
>>
I recommend we do this:
1. Gunboat shifts that patrol around the river.
2. Save for the 3 named ones, have the prisoners aid in the construction and fishing. Any idle soldiers could also be assigned to fishing. Assuming the fish is safe, which we should have checked.
3. Maybe sentries on both sides of the lake. Minelayer + some guys on rotating shifts to cover the west. Army covers the castle and road leading to the east. If we dont have the manpower, then our gunboats can cover that.

>>26117310
Although we shouldn't be too overt, we can mix Hayato's political officers with the Army & Marines with the mercs. Especially since we'd want the Marines with better weapons, and trained to use them. What we need to do though, is keep Hayato & Takehiko content.
>>
>>26117001
2 squads of combat engineers
Non reproducable building supplies (bags of concrete, bricks, steel, ect.)
and let's get working on making the pillboxs and towers
>>
We could inquire the prisoners about the Gate, and the supposed foreign devils.
>>
Can't we just continue to fortify the castle? That would save up a lot of building materials.

Also seconding the requests for engineers and those materials.

>Chi-Ha
Can we carry that through the lake? That tank wasn't amphibious.
>>
>>26117530
I would presume all this stuff is being brought in by ship.
Once the docks are made, we should be able to unload it. Or some sort of crane barge.
>>
>>26117336
>Nambu

Not even the gun.
>>
>>26117559
>Nambu

There's 4 pistols that go by that name. If it's the Type 94, fuck that. If it's one of the other 3, we essentially have a Mauser C96 that looks a bit like a Luger.
>>
>>26117640

The Type 94 was a deathtrap, but the other three weren't so great either.
>>
>>26117679
Well, there's always Takehiko for that. Hayato shouldn't bat an eye. Not only for practical reasons, but because many officers used imported pistols.
>>
You know, requisitioning body armor wouldn't be a bad idea. WW2 Japanese body armor is hard, so it should work against things like primitive weapons too.
>>
>>26117640
As an office we probably have the type 14
>>
>>26117679
>The Type 94 was a deathtrap
Glock syndrome?
>>
I hope we don't go full retard like with the nazi quest. Bringing a paladin on-site to a cthulhu ritual. The action people took was dumb.

Suddenly from being 'nice' but pragmatic to suddenly going beyond normal evil--straight out sacrificing souls of children in less than a day? Seriously.

Personally, I'd like to see minis. Oberst did one of them out of 17 threads.

Reminder that this thread isn't archived yet.

"The castle is taken. Prisoners are taken, one of which claims to be of royal blood. The Gaki is discovered. Repairs & new constructions around and of the Castle begins."

This is what I have for a description. That look good?
>>
>>26118647
Yup.
>>
>>26118666
Archived.
>>
>>26117380
After making sure whether it's safe to eat the local fish, we could have Hakase/Eriko write up a report on the Gaki, and what the locals have been and supposedly been doing. When the wounded are accounted for, that is.
>>
>>26118647
By the way this quest is, we have factions capable of that entire spectrum simultanously.
>>
OP died?
>>
>>26120753
I certainly hope not. A little busy atm. Will continue tomorrow.
>>
>>26117001
I vote 2 squads of combat engineers and non reproducible building supplies

Could we also include ofudas and various japanese charms can be sent with non producible (pretty much paper talismans of protection and small wooden talismans, they're easy to make and carry over, I want to see if 'magic' charms from Japan work in this world... there's some pretty odd charms like 'safe driving', 'easy birth', 'passing exams' and such too. They can be pretty entertaining)
>>
Does anyone here know the size of a 'typical' pre-Meiji era army? That's a bit important. Because unless our size multiplies by ten, it'd probably be best to keep a low profile so we don't end up attacked by overwhelming numbers that can replenish themselves faster than ours.
>>
>>26122077
That's actually really hard to say. I've never ran into any books that spoke of the overall standing strength of Daimyo armies.

Perhaps an osprey book will help?

Bullshit, that is Jyoutouhei uniform, not uniform of Taisa. Are you retarded? I have that fucking coat.
>>
>>26122187
Are you serious? If you know this then it's pretty easy to figure out it was out of ignorance, which really isn't something to get worked up over. I figured OP didn't have a degree in Meiji-era Japan military history because I doubt japanese soldiers were organized in groups of 10. And assuming the marines are SS analogues, I doubt they had 5-man "squads' (would actually be fireteams, which AFAIK didn't exist officially in any WW2 army).
>>
>>26122187
Tojo's personally promoted us recently. That's an old pic of us about to behead a Chinese peasant. That'll teach them to raise their hands when we beat them.
>>
>>26122351
Easily retconned and remidied. It's only a game.

Didn't we have wirblewinds and mg42's in 1939 in this universe?
>>
>>26122439
Landa has prototypes of them
>>
>>26122187
>Jyoutouhei

Whats that? I cant find results of it.

>>26122439
OP corrected it as a MG39, and BSed about the Wirblewind being a prototype. Funny thing though is that the MG39 would actually be /more/ reliable than a MG34.

The Wirbelwind was pretty silly though. It's predecessor wasn't made until 1943, and OP could've BSed some improvised vehicle. But eh.

I don't know how reliable this is, since this is a vague memory. But I think MG sections consisted of 4 men. Riflemen typically carried 120 rounds w/3 grenades. And 13 man squads.

Buut I'm digressing. I know OP didn't spend a few hours googling things that are pretty nitpicky for a civ game, and that it ain't a big deal.

I didn't get to participate in the other nazi threads, but I just hope we don't replicate the last two nazi fantasyland threads. Inviting a *Paladin* to witness your blood sacrifice. Spending the last dozen threads establishing the guy as being relatively pragmatic and not being bloodthirsty/psychotic like Siegfried or Gunthur....only to suddenly think it's acceptable to sacrifice the souls of children? Seriously, what the fuck was that? To me, that made no sense from a narrative standpoint. It was completely out of character and retarded (the part about taking the paladin to see the ritual).
>>
Banzi charge.
I dont care whats going on in this quest. We could be having some tea. We drop everything and draw our sword and shout Banzi.
>>

A WWII German MG squad had: Squad Leader (NCO) MP40 Machine Gunner (Private) MG 34/MG 42 and Pistol Assistant Gunner (Private) Pistol Three Riflemen (Privates) Rifles Horse leader for Horse, cart and trailer (Private) Rifle

I was talking about the Japanese. I should've clarified.
>>
>>26122351
My pic and Op's pic is Showa era Japanese Army, according to regulations in place from 1930 to 1938.

Dunno about Meiji Era IJA, but in Showa Era (specifically 1940 regulation) Infantry Platoon was composed thus:
- 3 LMG squads
- 1 Mortar squad
Each squad was composed of 12 people, with the LMG squad having 1 LMG and 11 rifles, mortar squads with 3 mortars and 9 rifles.

You ought to stick around as a historical accuracy advisor.
It'd be greatly appreciated I'm sure.
>>
Something to consider would be to find a source of this mythril and send a few bars of it back to a swordsmith we can trust to forge two blades, One for Tojo, as a show of what this world has to offer, and one for us, as a symbol of sorts of our conquest of this world
>>
>>26123767
Aw shit. I mixed them up.

>>26124285
Well, thats a reason for getting geologists. But we could inquire on known sources. I think we should only keep a minimum of the mithril. Say, for maybe personal armor or blades. Until we need it, we can use it.

Mithril is something that'd show an excellent ROI to the Empire, and even a 'small' amount could probably have alot of bullets or shells made out of it. So if we send some, they'd be willing to give us more stuff.
>>
>>26124355
Exactly A simple mythril jacket is the perfect thing to add a punch to the weaker guns of the Japanese military.
>>
>>26124536
How weak are they? Compared to say, even modern rounds?
>>
>>26124589
To put it in put in perspective the standard issue type-38 rifle uses a 6.5x50mm round versus the M1's .30-06, the nambu-14 uses an 8mm round versus the 1911's .40acp (11mm) rounds.

Japanese gear usually paled in comparison to most American weaponry of the time, with the exception of the naval and aerial vehicles and weapons until late in the war. Mostly when I think of Imperial Japanese soldiers and equipment I think of soldiers with training that far outstrips their equipment.
>>
>>26124877
Type38 rifle was made in 1907, by WWII they also had Type 99 rifle which had more powerful ammunition. Furthermore, the US army was the only army to give the regular rifleman a semiautomatic weapon during WWII. All other armies used bolt action rifles as MBRs. IJA would not have been able to effectively utilize such weapons anyway, as ammunition undersupply was an inherent problem with IJA since the China Incident.

Also, sidearm doctrine of the IJA was similar to most other armies. They were to be used for self defense of specialists like machinegunners and mortar carriers, or private purchase ones used by officers mostly for show. Only USA really utilized sidearms as effective offensive weapon.
>>
>>26124877
I'm no firearms expert, or expert in how differing ammunition of the exact same cartridge type can differ, but that doesn't sound so small. Sounds large enough to take on humans, even if bolt-action isn't great for rate of fire.

Wiki shows it has slightly less velocity, slightly more energy than .308 winchester.
>>
>>26125207
Thats true since this is set in 39 when the 99 was coming into service.

And I was simply comparing the standard weaponry of both sides. Not a commentary on the supply or tactics
>>
Outside of Infinite Worlds or other quests, are there any RPGs that explored a similar concept?

>number of quests dies down
Fearing oversaturation of [army] in Fantasyland quests? Hasn't stopped the Strike Witches ones.

Wish it did, though. The first one was already a kick in the balls. There are now seven.
>>
>>26125833
Nope this is just an original artwork which I love to death.

>>26125842
I meant quest threads in general. The strike witches quest series is growing a bit stale at this point, IMO nobody comes close to the original. Planefag is a really good writer, and Ignoring the waifu crap (which I do) the original quest still obliterates my sides when I re-read it. (Although I do have a soft spot for 89 mostly for the jets, and the fact that is managed to be more original that some of the other derivatives.)
>>
>>26125842
I was considering an Italy one, seeing as how hilarious it'd be. But, I think there's too many quests on the board myself.

>>26126049
Oh, I meant RPGs/campaigns of 'tech soldiers in a fantasy world'.
>>
>>26126119
I was thinking more dimensional rips and tears in multiple places. Not necessarily tech in fantasy but points where the two are bleeding together.
>>
>>26126217
I can see one in the US. Those tribes must've gotten their deities from somewhere.
>>
>>26126217
How would you handle things that are in the same place?
>>
>>26126517
The effect would probably be similar to when an object is teleported to a place where another object already occupies the same space.
>>
>>26126590
So pretty much apocalyptic
>>
>>26122750
This. And just when we were getting along with the paladin, too.
