You decided to devote a decade to creating revolution in Grand Victoria.

In retrospect, that was probably your first mistake.

---

Year One:
The garden Rose and Scarlet have built fills the courtyard. Rose's rose has twined its roots into the bricks and mortar of the castle; Rose has learnt to respect her Lady Scarlet; she even begins to believe they are friends. Scarlet herself has no such delusion.

The trade fleet is assembled, and begins to nurture a growing investment boom in imported goods from the Shattered Kingdoms.

Year Two:
Maxwell is sent to Grand Victoria to act as a spy. Though Rose begs him to let her come with him and see the sights, he declines. Rose is left to tend her garden and help maintain the health of a new crowd of slaves.

Isabella's network of spies spreads out into the world and begins to subtly influence public opinion and investment.

Year Three:
Dowanhowee dies in a hunting accident. Ahote is proclaimed new leader of the tribe in his stead; and Ahote is so much Isabella's that the clan is now hers as well. Scarlet is given no less respect by him; she of the bloody hair has proven herself to him many times over.

Isabella's people begin to take over Victoria's banking network, and the market begins to swell into a massive investment bubble. Other agents such as Maxwell begin to form true revolutionary parties.

Year Four:
Rose attempts to use Ahote's people to gain favors for herself in the castle; but they are Isabella's. She is found out and disciplined once more. Her hands are stained black from continued exposure to the horrors of Isabella's army, as she repairs their injuries and modifies their forms.

Isabella's revolutionary agents crystallize into an underground mafia. Using imaginary money provided by Thomas, they spread propaganda and undermine the Crown.
>>
>>25975526
Year Five:
Maxwell retires from service to Isabella in Grand Victoria. In return for this, Isabella turns him as he wished. As her first Childe, he is utterly devoted to her; possibly too much so.

Isabella's shell corporations begin to subtly prepare for the coming market crash.

Year Six:
Rose finally abandons all hope of escape or advancement in the castle. She is become naught but a tool for the maintenance of Isabella's armies and slaves. Sometimes she truly believes that she is better off in Isabella's service.

The underground worker's party emerges into the open. Though opposed at every turn by agents of the Crown, they nonetheless gain some traction in Grand Victoria. Grand Victoria's currency is inflated many times over.

Year Seven:
Maxwell asks Ahote to train him in the ways of the Espowye. Despite Isabella's hold, he refuses, some glimmer of his duty to his people still shining through. Maxwell acquiesces: but the ember of a grudge is kindled.

Isabella tells Thomas to make the money go away, and many men are ruined overnight. Populist fervor stoked by her agents swells.

Year Eight:
Maxwell is two years unbound from Isabella, but is still nonetheless subordinate to her. For three years he has been a loyal servant to both Isabella and Scarlet, obeying their every whim.

Would that he had not. For the hunger that Scarlet pours into him daily is too much, after three long years; his will is not strong enough. In the middle of a secret meeting with the rebels, he breaks into a ravenous hunger and slaughters the lot of them.

Realizing what he has done, he throws himself on Isabella's mercy, explaining all to her in a heartfelt confession. Scarlet expects that she will be cast out for her deception - but Isabella needs her too badly. Maxwell is exiled in her place, told never to return.

The revolution is on its cusp. There is nothing to be done but forge ahead.
>>
>>25975546
Year Nine:
This is Isabella, handing over a rifle to a dark-coated man in an underground passageway. The hall is crowded with crates of weapons, everywhere. She comments that with this much armament they should be able to seize the palace. The man grins, and agrees.

This is Maxwell, turned away by his sire, shrinking away from the light streaming through the window of an old abandoned house.

This is Scarlet, her eyes lit with fire as she exhorts a crowd to storm the gates of Parliament.

This is Ahote, birch spear by his side, marshaling the braves of his tribe for a conquest in the name of his Lady.

This is Rose, tending the garden alone. She has spoken to no-one save Scarlet for a year.

This is Isabella, giving the order that will create the revolution and bring about her reign.

This is Maxwell, all other avenues closed to him, determining that if he will not have a sire then he will have vengeance.

This is Scarlet, her hands stained with blood, laughing with pure joy amid the fire and smoke of Parliament's halls.

This is Ahote, riding on the back of a massive wolf, his cry that of a true warrior as he storms the gates of the palace with his braves.
>>
>>25975561
This is Rose, tending the wounds of another horror, her hands covered in viscera.

This is Isabella, ambushed in her castle by a creature that is to vampires as vampires are to humans.

This is Maxwell, his fangs red with blood, slaughtering the forces brought by Scarlet to Parliament.

This is Scarlet stopping the traitorous Maxwell's heart.

This is Ahote's tribesmen dying all around him as the Inquisition defends its monarch.

This is Rose, scratching and biting with all her might at the thing that seeks to destroy her own captor.

This is Isabella, claw marks making a patchwork of her flesh, fleeing her own castle for fear of the thing that lurks there.

This is Maxwell, finally at peace.

This is Scarlet, leading the remnants of her forces to drive away the beast that scared Isabella from her own halls.

This is Ahote rotting in a Inquisition cell, the only brave of his clan left in the world, his men killed by his own hubris.

This is Rose, stumbling onto the streets of Mark, unsure what to do now that she is finally free.
>>
>>25975567
Ouch
Stupid Maxwell ruining all our plans. We should have killed him instead of exiling him.

And how is Rose free, what happened to the magical rose?
>>
>>25975567
Well, fuck.

What the hell was in our Castlevania? What of the fleshcraft army?
>>
>>25975624
No one's there to keep an eye on her since Isabella was driven out. She just walked.
>>
>>25975567
Wait, was there an Elder in our castle?

What the hell?
>>
>>25975690
Hmm, maybe the royalty of Grand Victoria isn't what it seems to be
>>
>>25975567
So Isabella was driven out of her home, the Espoywe are all but extinct, Rose escaped again, and the coup against Grand Victoria's crown was presumably stuffed.

Eight years down the fucking drain.
>>
>>25975719
We still have a trade fleet.
>>
>>25975567
Did we... Overplay our hand?
>>
How are ALL the Espoywe dead? I'd expect most of the warriors, but what about women, children and some warriors to guard the rest.
>>
>>25975739
Sounds more like Isabella played the cards in the wrong order. Ahote being completely in her pocket, combined with him slighting Maxwell by refusing training, as well as Scarlet overfeeding on Max and turning him ravenous and leading to his exile, was what led to Maxwell's ultimate betrayal. I suppose next time, Isabella will pick her childe more carefully. She's currently 0-1.
>>
>>25975795
Maxwell's ultimate betrayal and the death of the Espoywe, I should clarify.
>>
>>25975729
A small consolation.
>>
What... what just happened?
>>
>>25975963
Overestimated our capabilities, and it all went up in flames.

Also I guess something very powerful was set on us. Vampire elder, maybe.
>>
>>25975739
Autoplayed it I think. Next time we can't afford to take long time skips it seems, since we can't correct the bad things that happen until everything goes to hell.
>>
>>25976003
We can't micromanage everything, or the quest will drag. I get the feeling we would've made the same decisions anyway (hence what the recap thread was about: asking questions in preparation for the decade timeskip, to gauge an overall gameplan). The problem was that all the shit went up in flames all at once.
>>
>>25975739

I think, aside from not being eaten, we may have accidentally done the exact same thing that got the other vamp we just ate, eaten. Probably a decent planning and everything, but then we pissed off something that was rather invested in the stack of dominoes that we just knocked over.
>>
>>25976061
I always had a feeling this economic upheval plan was going to backfire somehow. It was a lot of ambition, and towards what end?
>>
>>25976003
Agreed. We need to at least get a summery of the plan before we start the final phase.
>>
>>25976113
That's what all those questions in the recap thread was for: to gauge responses to particular questions that will steer the course of the timeskip. Everyone made their own individual votes on the given questions; those combined with some dice led to this.
>>
>>25976135
To be fair, those questions were made in a vacuum, so we didn't get to see Maxwell's slow disenchantment. Also, we didn't get a summery before the final phase at all, we got a summery of the results of our plan, which I'll be frank was not what I was expecting at all and would appreciate if I never saw again.
>>
>>25976093
The plan was good in general, but it had a number of fatal flaws.

1: Grand Victoria has been a stable empire for over a thousand years. You're effectively trying to lead a peasant rebellion in ancient China. Even if you won, it wouldn't have changed much.

2: You dedicated ten years to a revolution.

A single decade, seriously? The African civil rights movement took /twice/ that long, and it was grassroots and had Ghandi leading it. Sure, the french revolution was about that long, but once again that didn't have to be spun from whole cloth.

3: You turned Maxwell. His whole deal was that he was willing to do anything for power. After you turned him, it was merely a matter of time before he screwed you over somehow.

4: Exacerbating 3, you also didn't notice that Scarlet was adding to Maxwell's hunger until it was too late.

5: You underestimated the Inquisition. Even if Maxwell hadn't had his meltdown, you're talking about a national consipracy designed from the ground up to destroy creatures like you. Of course they have /something/ that outmatches you.

>>25975763
Last brave of his clan, not last of his clan. The non-warriors of the Espowye yet live.
>>
I guess all that's left is working out how to pick up the pieces.

AS, are you still here? Are we going to be discussing our next steps in this thread or was this literally just the aftermath and nothing else?
>>
>>25976499
I didn't intend to actually fire off the rebellion in so short a time personally. I figured that we weren't kicking it off so quickly honestly.
>>
>>25976499

>3: You turned Maxwell. His whole deal was that he was willing to do anything for power. After you turned him, it was merely a matter of time before he screwed you over somehow.

Yeah, I was never live for the thread when the voting happened. When I saw this one, I pretty much went 'welp, that's gonna end with a stabbing'.
>>
>>25976575
So did I. I thought we were just putting pieces into place slowly.
>>
>>25976595
I figured as much as well. Apart from Sophia, Maxwell was always the most untenable of individuals.
>>
>>25976499
Tell me we had something set aside for a failure in our plans?

Did the Inquisition send Alucard after us or something? I want to know the specifics here. What happened to our fleshcraft army? How was Maxwell strong enough to stop our rebellion in it's tracks, despite not being trained and only having 5 years of experience with his vampiric powers? What of Eyesocket? What of our airship fleet?

Surely, *surely* we were not stupid enough to devote every single resource available to this plan. Where are the bunkers full of fleshcrafted soldiers, ready and waiting for our orders to mobilise? where are our safehouses? where are our backup funds?

This situation can be salvaged, just give us something to work with. The first step is taking back our Castlevania, which is bound to us and us alone. To allow whatever wretched abomination that the inquisition unleashed to stalk those hallowed halls for even a moment longer is an insult.
>>
>>25976499
>Sure, the french revolution was about that long, but once again that didn't have to be spun from whole cloth.

I think we managed to do a pretty good job matching that bodycount, though!
>>
>>25976621
No kidding. We can draw blood from afar, right?

We need to use our shattered plans to the best of our ability. Can we fleshcraft corpses? If not, can we drink from all the blood that was spilled in the chaos? Thousands of people lie dead and dying, there has to be *something* we can do with that, to salvage our failure even a little.
>>
>>2597649>>25975567
--- Some time later ---

A woman with blood-red hair, red as gore, sprawls across a luxiurous chaise-lounge.

Servants stand off to the sides of the room, attending to her whenever she wishes something to eat or drink.

Across a table from her sits an enormously fat man, his eyes filled with light as he chuckles at her latest movement on the gameboard.

"Well done, miss Scarlet. I do believe that's checkmate."

She smiles.

"Indeed it is, Mayor."

"Shame about that nasty business with the girl who lived here last."

"Yes, indeed."

"Did they ever capture her?"

"No... I don't believe so."

--- Across a sea and several countries---

"Captain! Left!"

"Helm, Left!"

The sleek, aerodynamic shape of the Shard-class runner skews sharply, turning almost on a dime as it seeks its prey.

"Fire!"

"You heard the little lady, man the pumps! Give them hell, men!"

Gouts of flame spew from the ship's bow, and the village below goes up like tinder, a bonfire amidst the night sky.

"Away Gargoyles!"

"Gargoyles Away!"

With a tremendous crash, massive stones slam into the panicked defenders- then claw themselves out of their craters and advance on those that remain, granite claws extended.

The remaining defenders look at the advancing creatures, turn tail, and run.

"Well done, my Captain. Now, take everything that's not nailed down."

The armada descends, bringing death with it.

---From the Diary of Isabella Katarina Lioncourt---

July 5:
As I can no longer show my face within Grand Victoria's borders, Scarlet will be left to administer affairs in my stead. Fortunately, with the recent improvements to her appearance and demeanor, this will not be an issue. Her cover is the best I've been able to acquire, and will likely repel even attempts by the Inquisition to create holes in it- and of course, none of it implies any connection whatsoever to me.

July 9:

Scarlet informs me that there was a message sent to me offering asylum in Mori. As the fleet cannot sustain itself indefinitely by raiding, I believe I will have to accept. Apparently the propaganda speaks of me as a "true revolutionary spirit, unjustly driven from her homeland." They certainly know how to spin it.

July 26:
We have arrived at the border of Mori. Scarlet informs me that the brothers themselves may be coming to speak with me. This could be a marvellous opportunity… And even should they not appear, there are a number of banks here with individuals who rely on me for my discretion.
>>
>>25976620
>This situation can be salvaged, just give us something to work with.
According to >>25976697, that answer is "piracy and Scarlet being our standin."
>>
>>25976697
Vampire loli sky pirate

I can dig it.
>>
Wait a second, didn't Castlevania have entrances elsewhere? Why would we still be cut off from our home?

I mean, obviously we wouldn't ever go into Grand Victoria, and we would need to stay in our quarters whenever guests came calling, but still. Our doll collection and fleshcraft sanctum is there. Unless they were destroyed?
>>
>>25976782
Castlevania is still standing and safe, since Scarlet currently inhabits it. Unfortunately, Isabella does not have ready access to an entrance to Castlevania from where she is. She needs to make an entrance.
>>
>>25976812
That should be priority #1 then.
>>
Holy shit the situation changed like fuck. Have we gotten any stat changes in the last decade?

I'm gonna love if we somehow lose our assets and need to rebuild from the ground up, like if the Inquisition seizes Castlevania and we're outed to be a vampire. Vampire Loli princess with no land is a go. Maybe we can freeload at our sister's?
>>
>>25976725
You alight from the airship, a silver pistol by your side, your armor polished. To your right, your captain stands, a seven-foot broadsword of a man. Though he appears entirely human, you know that his grip can crush iron and his skin cannot be pierced by steel. You should know; you built him.

All is dark. If the Mori Brothers are here, they aren't announcing their presence; but the shadows of other airships in the night suggests that Mori is taking precautions just the same.

A man with a torch greets you.

"The lady Isabella. We've heard much of you. A room is prepared for you at the local inn; would you please follow me?"

> Go with him or not?
> Bring a bodyguard or not?
> What orders did you leave with the fleet before you stepped off the boat?
>>
>>25976854
No stat changes in the last decade; the character sheet will be updated with regards to property after this session.
>>
>>25976866
>Go with him.
>Bring a bodyguard, naturally.
>Keep an eye on the skies, and don't let anyone on board without my permission. Otherwise, get the place cleaned up and take five.
>>
>>25976866
Take the captain with us as a bodyguard.

We should be pretty paranoid at this point.
>>
>>25976918
We're in a land of sympathizers that hail us as a champion of the people.
>>
>>25976939
And the fucking Imperial Inquisition is goddamn everywhere.
>>
>>25976948
This is Mori, not Grand Victoria. Unless there's Inquisition spies, they're not here. Of course we won't out that we're a vampire, but still.
>>
>>25976948
GOOD, /NOW/ YOU'RE GETTING IT!
>>
>>25976959
Seriously. That right fucking there is the attitude that wound us up in this fucking mess in the first fucking place. Yknow THOUSAND YEAR OLD EMPIRE THAT USED TO OWN THIS FUCKING LAND AND HAS A HATEBONER FOR US!! and all, no thats not a reason to worry at fucking all.
>HURR NOTHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPENS CUZ REASONS!!!

>>25976968
And you. You really skipped past the meat of the quest? Really? I mean i was getting ready for like 50 or so threads of us trying to overthrown Grand Vic and turn it into the Peoples Republic of Victoria, but you just timeskipped all of it? That is soooooo utterly disappointing. I mean you couldn't just take it month by month?

>>
>>25977026
I'm not saying we shouldn't be on guard, especially now, but I'm also not saying we give ourselves an ulcer. Chill out.
>>
>>25977079
Yes we should be giving ourselves an ulcer. We should not even have our current face on right now. DO we still look like us right now Alucard? Cuz if we do we need to illusion ourselves to not look like us RIGHT THE FUCK NOW!
Srsly Grand Victoira is like maybe a stright away from this country, it is NOT hard for them to implant spies everywhere. And they KNOW we are a vampire. They will be trying to kill us at every opportunity. I wouldnt be surprised if they out the fuck out of us as hard as possible.
>>
>>25977123
There's a minor problem with that. We have a meeting with the leadership of this country because of our failed revolution. We can't change our identity just yet
>>
>>25977185
Oh god we, BY NAME, have a meeting with officials? Yeah we are going to fucking die. We are going to die so hard. Can we send some kind of magical proxy or something so they DONT kill us/out us on the spot?
>>
>>25977026
>
And you. You really skipped past the meat of the quest? Really? I mean i was getting ready for like 50 or so threads of us trying to overthrown Grand Vic and turn it into the Peoples Republic of Victoria, but you just timeskipped all of it? This is so true.
>>
>>25977219
Dude, calm down. You're too paranoid. The inquisition is powerful in Grand Victoria itself, but they can't just kill us in the capital of another state.
And even if they kill us, we'll just reform in our grave
>>
>>25977219
Well, yeah. Again, we're a hero to the people of Mori. I wouldn't be surprised if the ruler(s) grant us asylum from Grand Victoria for our deeds and ambition towards representing the people. We're kind of a living legend now.

Seriously, dude. Breathe.
>>
>>25977271
And given enough time and an estate here in Mori, we can create a door back to Castlevania anyway, reuniting us with our staff and holdings. As long as we, personally, don't use the Grand Victoria door anymore, we'll be better off than we are now.
>>

>THEY KNOW WE ARE A VAMPIRE.

Im sorry its like you dont think we are not ENEMY NUMBER ONE on this world equivalent of the CIA's hitlist. And you expect a minor country, all of its hatred for Grand Vic aside, to actually be able to successfully defend us? Let me laugh harder.

So which one of you chucklefucks thought -this- was a good idea? Wasn't this exactly how we killed our dad?

>>25975567
I choose to learn the wrong lessons from this, and conclude that our hubris and paranoia were merely insufficient for this endeavor. Next time there will be no mistakes.

Welp. Only one thing to do now.

VAMPIRE SKY PIRACY QUEST IS A GO!
>>
>>25977333
>THEY KNOW WE ARE A VAMPIRE.
That part, not so much, I think. We don't know the full extent of how far our secret goes.
>>
>>25977336
But he timeskipped ALL of it. Even Sky Pirates. We are already at the part where we retire into seclusion for about two centuries until this blows over.
>>
>>25977354
They sent a beast SPECIFICALLY DESIGN TO KILL VAMPIRES AFTER US. If thats not an indication of them know whether or not we are a vampire then i cannot help you.
>>
>>25977386
Well, Scarlet still meets the mayor in our Manor. if they knew who we are, they would have burned the place and debrainwashed the mayor
>>
>>25977336
I honestly though we were going to play out that revolutionary bit. Whose fucking dumb, lazyass idea was it to just timeskip and see what happens?
>>
>>25977461
The OP. At least, it was his idea to timeskip ALL of it.
>>
>>25977445
A better point is that we can find/make another entrance back to the manor. As far as Grand Victoria is ostensibly aware, Isabella was driven out of the country and forced into exile, meaning she's cut off from her estate. They don't know the true nature of Castlevania.
>>
>>25977386
We altered Scarlet almost entirely, and had to forge paperwork to give her the castle and use like all of our remaining resources to stave off our eventual capture and give us a line back to Castlevania. It doesn't even have our threshold anymore. Im surprised other Vampires have moved in yet to try and take it. Note how we haven't been back yet AND we dont have our coffin there, I SINCERLY HOPE WE DONT HAVE OUR COFFIN THERE, and how we have been on the run. For all intents and purposes we have had to give up on the castle, lose all of our fleshcrafting talents and books and like everything we have spent our unlife on. Jebus, im starting to wonder if we can even continue the fucking quest.
>>
>>25977500
At this point that's about the only secret the Inquisition doesn't know about us.
>>
>>25976866

>AND we dont have our coffin there, I SINCERLY HOPE WE DONT HAVE OUR COFFIN THERE
How do you know that?
>>
>>25976866
Do NOT go with him. Send an illusion that we can control or SOMETHING else that isnt us. We are staying here and guarding our fleet from Imperial infiltration. Not like its going to help much.
>>
>>25977546
Wait what?

I'm pretty sure Castlevania is still bound to us, but we can't create doors from the outside, and we can't get to any of the doors that are already made. We're cut off, but it's only temporary.
>>
>>25977267
You failed /once./

You have literally /forever/ to try again.

People asked for a timeskip, so I gave a timeskip. Perhaps I skipped a bit too far, but it's not like you won't get another chance.

>>25977304
Also this. As soon as you can retrieve your property here, which you have because you are not an idiot, you will be fine, and possibly even better off than when you started if you can leverage your status as a "Hero of the People."
>>
>>25977642
Maybe Isabella knows a ritual from her library to open a door from the outside. That or we send a confidential missive to Scarlet to open a door from her side to Mori, with Isabella working on the other side to laser guide the spell.
>>
>>25977362
Whoa whoa whoa. No, Sky Pirates may still be in full effect. Don't be hasty, now.
>>
>>25977682
That's what I was thinking. A door in Mori would be exceedingly helpful, but we will probably need to obtain some sort of building here to link to it.

Shouldn't be too difficult.
>>
>>25977677
Seriously. Botch an operation, and people are calling to burn all bridges everywhere forever, scorch the land and salt the earth. This is just one facet of Isabella's life, and it's not Shadescast. We'll live, so people need to chill the hell out.
>>
>>25977718
That's the idea. First, we need a (mostly) permanent estate to put the door in. Castlevania doesn't like reorienting its major portals all willy-nilly.
>>
>>25977617
>It doesn't even have our threshold anymore
Well the mayor is no longer dominated. So i can assume our threshold, which is what kept him dominated, is gone.

As for the coffin, read the second part again. I am hoping we didnt leave our fucking coffin behind or else we DONT have one to return to.
>>
>>25977677
Now don't get me wrong here, I'm not pissed at you. I'm just saying that in my opinion you skipped too far and that that kind of sucks. Not that you should retcon or that you are a terrible person or whatever. I'm just giving you feedback.
>>
>>25977760
Our coffin is in the hidden catacombs far beneath Castlevania. Our castle knows better than to let ANYONE down there that shouldn't be there. Remember that Castlevania is sentient.
>>
>>25977760
>which is what kept him dominated
What? It was our voice/presence that kept him dominated, I thought

Well operation red shield was a bust, but it's not like we accomplished nothing. What is the state of post-war Mark? How did our exploits play in Shadecast? Was it seen as dangerous and foolish? Or bold and revolutionary? Are the commis still hanging on like FARC rebels in rural areas?
>>
>>25977798
This. There's nothing saying the mayor isn't still dominated, especially since Isabella still lives. It's just that he answers to Scarlet now.
>>
>>25977760
Your threshold kept him dominated? What?
No, long-term exposure to you did that.
>>
>>25977739
Its not that we botched an operation, its that people didnt even partake of said operation and as a result it has fucked us over hard. We are having to rebuild with less than what we had to begin with in the first place. AND with the goddamn CIA equivalent breathing down our necks at every turn.
>>
man, people are REALLY overreacting. let's just keep the game moving and rebuild

>>25977940
Ah. Well then. We should probably get situated quickly.
>>
>>25977864
What else can we do? We overplayed our hand, made a lot of mistakes, and it all went up in flames. How were we supposed to know that the Inquisition had Alucard or whatever the fuck they sent after us?

Though I am still curious as to what happened to our fleshcraft army. Is it still waiting in Castlevania, or was it destroyed by the supermonster or something? I know we have the gargoyles, but is the rest of the fleet also made up of fleshcrafted stuff, or is it regular people?
>>
>>25977940
Castlevania is still bound to us though, right?
>>
>>25977973
All the rest of our holdings should be safe.
>>
>>25977959
>What else can we do?
we could actually answer the Question the Qm has asked so the Quest can move on
>>
>>25977853
The day the Inquisition invades Shadescast is the day an ancient dragon invades Shadescast.
>>
>>25978022
Only two people directly answered, and they mostly said to go with him and bring protection.
>>
>>25978022
Alright then.

>>25976866
DO NOT GO FUCKING OUT THERE. Send a messenger. Dont NOT go into that room. Do NOT land if we can avoid it.
>>
>>25978027
Are we in Shadescast right now?
DO we have ANY access to Shadescast?
No we dont so that doesnt matter.
>>
>>25978049

>Also this. As soon as you can retrieve your property here, which you have because you are not an idiot, you will be fine, and possibly even better off than when you started if you can leverage your status as a "Hero of the People."
>status as a "Hero of the People."

We can't hide in our ships forever
>>
>>25977805
Ok gang, priorities!

*Determine status of forces, situation.
Recover Castlevania (attach to flagship?)
*Recover Rose. Because we're seriously that petty/insane.
*Obtain military class vessels.
*Save Ahote.
*Find some way to eliminate the Inquisition's un-vampire.
*Finish what we started.

>>25976866
Go, bring bodyguard. Tell fleet to engage anything significantly smaller than it but not pursue. Anything large is to be fled from, save for a shard class runner to try to pick up Izzy if it's not too hot.
>>
>>25978049
We've already touched down.
>>
>>25978076
>Recover Castlevania (attach to flagship?)
Castlevania doesn't like that. It likes its portals more permanent.
>>
>>25977973
>>25977985
Both of these are correct.

>>25977959
The army helped fight off the creature that attacked you. The remaining ones are here.
>>
>>25978111
So those serving on our fleet is all that's left of our craftworks (apart from the dolls back in the castle)?
>>
>>25978072
All that that "HERO OF THE PEOPLE" thing means is the citizens and government of Mori will protect us. That doesnt NOT mean we wont get infiltrated, AGAIN, by the Inquisition. Or attacked by a strike force from Grand VIc, a country that is FAR more powerful than Mori is right now.
>>
>>25978076
>*Recover Rose. Because we're seriously that petty/insane.
It's been a year, though. Shouldn't Rose's rose still be attached to the castle? If Scarlet clips that rose, the problem resolves itself. I'm willing to write her off as a loss right now.
>>
>>25978127
The fact remains that the fleet can't run indefinitely (I'm pretty sure it's running on fumes right now), and Mori is most likely offering Isabella asylum from Grand Victoria. She'll take what she can get.
>>
>>25978111
What sort of land is Mori like? Architecture, culture, sensibilities, etc.
>>
>>25978171
Indeed. Once we have a permanent residence in Mori we can link it to Castlevania and go back to the drawing board.

Really, I think we just need MORE FLESHCRAFT. Create a small force, abduct villages to create a larger force, then make entire towns go silent. And damnit, make sure we have hidden bunkers filled with soldiers who don't decay.
>>
>>25978262
We've already been raiding villages en route to here, haven't we?
>>
>>25978288
Have we been taking prisoners? We can't keep them alive long enough to get them back to our flesh loom anyway. Pretty sure we were just raiding for supplies.

I'm thinking actually just straight up vanishing everyone in the middle of the night.

Building an army is certainly going to attract attention. Maybe now is planning time.

We still need to know the status of post-revolt Mark and the world at large too. How popular was the uprising? How much did it's sentiments linger after it was crushed?
>>
>>25978139
actually, I think that we broke Rose enough that I don't think she will betray us. she went full Stockholm Syndrome with us.

At this point, I view her as a lost puppy that we should try to find if we have time.

Off course, if she goes Sophia on us, kill the little bitch
>>
>>25978325
We could tell Scarlet to rip out a petal of the rose every day until Rose comes back or dies. She should get the hint that she should come back
>>
>>25978325

Isn't the council of Shadecast kind of pissed that we basically pissed on the masquerade? Or are they happy we got the ball rolling?
>>
>>25978378
We didn't blow up the masquerade, though. The Inquisition already knew about vamps, the population at large still has no idea, or only know of them through myth and rumour.
>>
>>25978378
They'll probably have stern words for us.
If the Inquisition got into Shadescast, it'd be a different matter entirely.
>>
>>25978378
How did we "piss on the masquerade"?
The inquisition attacked us in our House and there was a failed revolution in Grand Victoria
>>
>>25978438
Well we MASSIVELY increased the suspicion of the ruling classes at the least.
>>
>>25978420
Plus, the Inquisition doesn't know about Shadescast itself, which is one of the most important parts.
>>
>>25978288
Yes.
>>25978314
Yes, that's how you've been maintaining yourself and the fleet from its losses on harder targets.

Mori is a new nation, born of revolution and conquest. It's scarcely a decade old.

The impetus for its creation was a pair of brothers from a far-away province in the west. They are Damba and Casa Mori. Damba is an artilleryman. Casa is a cavalryman. Both are incredibly competent at leading men and manipulating their lessers. They caused a populist revolution in their home province, then conquered their neighbours, and so on and so on.

The armies of Mori finally ran up against the sea, and since, the empire has begun to become more and more tense. Where the brothers are, the empire strengthens- but elsewhere it splinters. So far it has held together on hope and the dream of freedom; but without war to drive the economy this becomes more and more unstable.
>>
>>25978964
Scarcely two decades old now, my bad.
The armies of Mori are strongest on land, with powerful artillery; they are also highly mobile and able to move quickly to outflank their enemy.

Their navy and Air Force are generally slow, massive ships that are more floating artillery platforms than anything else.
>>
... it sounds ripe for a strong empress to seize control.
>>
>>25979089
let's try and keep our ambitions in cheek until we have settled down, at least. Unless you want to be hunted by two empires

Well we're really good at starting wars. Not so great at ending them. It sounds like the Morians would be best at making quick strikes and then consolidating their gains into a defensive line, but they would have very littlle chance of forcing decisive outcomes.

If we were to support a war with Mark through privateer actions and terrorist attacks made by Markian People's Liberation Army remnants we might be able to arrive at a mutually beneficial outcome. They get the war they need and some territorial gains. We take whatever is left of Mark for ourselves.

Before we do ANY of that we need to assess the political climate in Shadecast.

>>
>>25980057
That was actually one of the facets of the plan that was fairly sound. We had multiple steps built in to solidify our revolutionary street cred well before the shit went down. Apparently we're still held in pretty high regard by whatever rebels are left.

BRAAAAIIIINSSSS

Evening.

>>25978049
>>25978076
>>25977592
>>25976917

It would appear the consensus is to go and bring a bodyguard, specifically your captain.

Writan.
>>
>>25982972
You allow the torchbearer to lead the way, the Captain steady by your side, alert for any sign of trouble.
You are led to a large, spacious inn. Though its windows are all dark, the torchbearer unlocks the door and ushers you in.

Within, two men wait, dressed in simple, homespun linen. They wear no insignia; they carry no weapons that you can see; but the air of authority they carry is such that you would recognize them merely by the way they moved.
These men must be the Brothers Mori.

Examining their plain faces more closely, the resemblance is apparent. Though one wears his hair in a ponytail, and the other close-cropped, they share the same dark chestnut color; and the silent interaction that passes between them is one only a pair of people who have known each other forever could have.

The one with the ponytail taps his fingers on the table gently, and adjusts the silver ring on his finger that is his only ornamentation. Then he speaks, the words calm and even despite the unusual circumstance.

"Hello, Isabella. We've been expecting you. Please, sit down."

> Do you take the seat offered you?
>>
>>25983106
Across from the co-rules of an entire nation, I don't see why not. Our etiquette would never let us say no.
>>
>>25983106

I would say we should do a fast magic scan while moving towards it. If it's clean go for it.
>>
>>25983142
>>25983135
You take a seat.

Across the table from you, the Brothers Mori lean forward, and rest their elbows on the table.

The one with the ponytail seems to be doing the talking at the moment.

"We have received reports of the attempt you made on Grand Victoria's government. We agree that the plan was quite thorough, bold, and inventive. Of course, that did not keep it from failing, but in theory it was a very good plan. We have drafted ones similar to it before."

He twists the ring on his finger and furrows his brow.

"It has been a long time since anyone we have met has come up with a plan anything similar to those we have created. We need people like you, Isabella. The revolution needs people like you, with drive and ambition, and the intellect to back it up. We are considering offering you a position in our intelligence network."

He raps his ring against the table sharply.
"However!"
He narrows his eyes, as if daring you not to pay attention. By his side, his brother watches you intently.

"If we are to work together closely, we can have no secrets from each other. So: I will put it to you straight. Isabella Katarina Markova, are you, or are you not a vampire?"

> ...Well, are you?
>>
>>25983310
Well if he's in bed with the Markian inquisition he probably already knows we're a vampire, so no loss there. Yes we are.

Seven hours to go from one scene to another? Slow down there speed racer!
>>
>>25983310
"You wouldn't believe me if I said no, now, would you? What does my...existence have to do with you?"
>>
>>25983358

>>
>>25983310

"If we are to have no secrets then I will have to ask. What would it mean to you?"
>>
>>25983358
>>25983389
>>25983418

So is this a yes or a "What's it to you?"
>>
>>25983495

>>
>>25983495

Maybe so, but outright outing ourselves as a vampire would be equally brash, in my opinion.

Seriously. They're just mortals. At least try to probe their minds or SOMEthing.
>>
>>25983850
Mortals with an entire nation behind them. We may be vampiric nobility (somewhat), but even we know how to pick our fights. This is not a fight worth picking.
>>
>>25983537
>>25983629
You steeple your hands and politely riposte.

"If, hypothetically, I happened to be a vampire, why would you wish to know it?"

He shrugs.

"Because I believe one needs to understand one's close advisors. Being unable to go out in the day would be a rather significant limitation on one in public office, would it not? Not to mention the whole 'drinking blood' issue. And one could say that having a vampire on your staff might provide certain unusual advantages."

He shakes his head and leans back in his chair, though his brother remains as intent on you as before.

"But such inquiries are rightly beside the point. Of course you are not a vampire, you are a charming and beautiful heiress, unfortunately cursed by a warmage as the iron heel of the Empress bloodily crushed the populist uprising you sponsored, entirely selflessly of course. Isn't that right, brother?"

His brother nods sagely.

"They are alraedy lauding you as a heroine all across the empire. The only question is, did your airships land here in the dead of night, heroically saving the last of the resistance who could be identified? Or were they hounded southward, until both Mori and Grand Victoria's eyes could not reach it- another lost firebrand forced away from our grasp?"
>>
>>25983878
> *Already
> "Land in Mori"
> "Flee Southward"
>>
>>25983878
These guys are smart.

So now they're asking about our "alibi." Did we receive asylum in Mori, or did we retreat south?

I'd say we landed here, as it gives those in Grand Victoria something to latch onto, knowing that their champion yet lives. However, this would force pressure onto Mori from Grand Victoria itself as a result, and that would just be business as usual for them.
>>
>>25983872
Okay, but we could at least influence them in some way or another. At least probe their minds to assess their true intentions.

Besides, if they really are mortals dominating them wouldn't be a gigantic risk at least.
>>
>>25983959
Actually, wait. If we say we were hounded south, we could vanish under the radar, taking the pressure off of us from the Inquisition and Grand Victoria. At that point, it's a question of how well we can keep a low profile here, which shouldn't be too hard given our proclivity for being a recluse. But then the proletariat lose their champion, fearing she is lost forever (until our triumphant return, at least).

Hmm.
>>
>>25983878
Probe thee minds to be sure of their true intentions. We didn't live 400+ years trusting people.
>>
>>25983982
We will put safeguards in place once we've felt out the Mori brothers a bit more. They are likely to roll high and often against any mental compulsion, and as heads of state who knows what countermeasures they've prepared. We're not so flush with friends that we can piss them off.

>>25983878
If they're ready to take the heat it's better to say we're in Mori. Before we really crank things up though we really need to go get a handle on the global political situation. Mark? Eyesocket? Shadecast? Our power mongering psychotic bitch of a sister? We're way overexposed. I say we forstall any announcements until we secure Castlevania and find out what's happened. No more than a month though.
>>
>>25983982
What you're proposing is like dominating Napoleon and then hoping to run the Republic without anybody noticing anything.

Also, roll Acumen.
>>
>>25984067
So ask the brothers if they're secure in protecting their nation and us before we say we landed in Mori.
>>

>>25984090
Yeah and you know who trusted Napoleon? The Spanish.
>>
>>25984111

Welp our mojo is back.
>>
>>25984157

>>
>>25984157
Well, if it only counters suggestion, then can we just read their thoughts instead?

why cant we negotiate in good faith? ask them for asylum, and allow them to treat us as a consultant, incase there are some form of supernatural threats being levelled at them
>>
>>25984373
This effectively IS their offer of asylum.
>>
>>25984373
Because trusting people so completely after getting our revolution's ass handed to itself seems like a bad idea.

Whatever, back on topic. Say that we came in heroically, if only to endear ourselves to the populace.
>>
>>25984445

We still have the image of being a hero to the people at least and we are useful to them given their nations low age. All it takes is a little bit of time and we will be back in business. Not saying we trust them actually I'm saying we do the opposite but trying right now is too blatant.
>>
>>25984445
This. Publicity would probably be a good thing in this case. Having the people's support early on could make sure we stay relevant should something... Unfortunate happen to the Moris
>>
>>25984516
Fair enough.
>>
>>25984193
>>25984100
>>25984067

You purse your lips, considering.

"That would depend, of course, on whether I would be putting the greater revolutionary cause in danger by drawing the wrath of Grand Victoria upon the citizens of Mori."

The chestnut-haired man smiles slightly.

"Don't worry about that; we have always known that there would have to be a confrontation with the Empress. Our ideals are simply too dissimilar. We are prepared to turn aside any reprisal."

The short-haired man just stares at you intently. It's honestly a little unnerving; you've never really had someone focus so much on you before. You do your best to ignore it as you respond.

"In that case, I will begin preparing a speech immediately. The populace must hear the tale from those who were there, if they are to understand the full gravity of the situation."

The one who speaks nods seriously.

"Indeed. Now then, I believe you have a certain amount of holdings already within the country; I have taken the liberty of instructing their holders to centralize them in the capital. We will proceed there as soon as possible, of course. Is there anything more you wish to discuss?"

> Would you like to angle for something more than simple asylum and a government position? If so, to what extent, and how will you attempt to impress the brothers?
>>
>>25984157
Holy shit...I suggested ONE THING, don't have the god damn revolution, I told them it was going to fail miserably, that we would have to abandon our castle, and we'd lose all the human warriors.

But did anyone listen, nope, I saw this shit coming 10 threads ago, I gave up on everyone listening to common sense.

Just thought I'd put that out there, 10 threads ago...seriously.
>>
>>25984193

>>
>>25984621
Try and get ourselves a relatively nice estate to work out of and live in. "I work better with lots of space," if we ask. Once we get it, get to work on opening a permanent door to Castlevania, either from here or in tandem with Scarlet on the other side.
>>
>>25984621
We've got artisan tier flesh-crafting skills, just take a look at our helmsman. We can provide them true monsters, that should impress them.

>>
>>25984647

>>25984764

>>
>>25984811
By showing we're alive, the rebellion has something to latch onto. Plus, to get to us involves getting through Mori. We don't have to show ourselves that often.
>>
>>25984750
>offer our gun.

How does this provide any leverage at all? We would need to offer something that benefits the state as a whole, considering these guys seemingly care more about the masses than themselves.
>>
>>25984764
Our only experience is getting run out of our home by another vampires creation because said other vampire liked the status quo in Grand Victoria. We should have gone to the primogen and talked to them before starting a stupid revolution. There's no telling how many elders we pissed off doing that.

We need to stay out of sight, focus on surviving, provide the Mori brothers with potent shock troops and magical resources such as scrying, but that should be the extent of it. We're already a wanted target in GV, lets not run the risk of this rebellion failing too and us getting made, and in the end if they are successful, we're golden, we're in the back, only they know of us, they won't need us anymore so we can fade into obscurity providing the odd monster if they still need them.

Bide our time, wait 50 years, go home, before our damn sister decides she wants the estate.
>>
>>25984621
Angle for magical resources and the like, we can make good use of them. They already know about our assets here and our nature as a vampire, they would probably know that we're better at magic and fleshcrafting than literally anyone else they'll get on board.

We'll want our Castlevania back and once we have it we can do major fleshcrafting once again.

Also, we'll want materials for any projects we take on, whether that comes from dissenters, enemies, or whatever, I don't think we care much.

We'll want a position in government that isn't overly public but has lots of influence.
>>
>>25984818
>we don't want to lose him to the Mori army.

A reasonable concern, but I meant that we would be controlling him controlling the army. So rather than us losing him o them, it's more us gaining power in the Mori military.
>>
>>25984929
We'll worry about Castlevania, hence why I'm angling for a nice large estate we want for our Mori entrance in Castlevania.

which rebellion, this one or the one in GV, the one in GV is dead and wiped out and we need to distance ourselves from it, that's why we're out here in the first place.

>>25984908
I'll second this, also I reckon we should get Scarlet to recover her lost puppy while we are away from things
>>
>>25984908
Mori is spoiling for a fight. By revealing ourselves to have survived the rebellion and gaining asylum in Mori, the rebellion keeps its figurehead, and Mori gets its fight with GV.
>>
>>25984973
>presumed.

and last I checked, the inquisition wasn't in the flesh-crafted beast business, there's a good chance they had vampire contacts who agreed with the the fall of the rebellion and the inquisition had it's hands full at the palace so they asked one of their friends to handle it.

Other vampires in the city had everything to lose and little to gain from us throwing the place into rebellion, when they're part of the system, they like it, they can bide their time and move up slowly, it's not like they're in a rush. Seeing as they're immortal.
>>
>>25984908
When I said have the 7 foot guy act as general, and run military matters THROUGH him. I meant that. I didn't mean parade ourselves around as some grand hero and lead everything personally.
>>
>>25984929

Honestly I kind of want a official position in fiances or the like. Just because of the power involved with high up transactions. That or intelligence.

>>25984982

One of your plans was to abandon the castle and run around in the wild because a vampire that we knew could track us with magic was after us so we should leave our wards and run around in a random spot. Hearing you talk about any plans being suicidal is ironic. But strangely enough you are right here. We really shouldn't be too open here. Instead we should build up connections and the like slowly for later.
>>
>>25985052
all I'm saying is that we're in hot water right now, if we continue to go about the country side and get attached to every rebellion that happens, either personally, or magically, don't think there's not people out there who can't recognize our work. Remember we're artisan-level, maybe even world-class level fleshcrafters. That kind of work carries it's own signatures, someone could back trace the creation to us, maybe not directly, but have a notion.

Then we're on the lam again when another fleshbeast comes tearing into wherever it is we're staying. Remember, vampires can hold grudges for a long time, nations too, and some people provided they don't die first.
>>
>>25985133
Mori already said he has plans to put us in intelligence.
>>
>>25985133
I suggested we go take 10 years and shack up at our sister's place, sure we're not really besties, but family is family. I did suggest abandoning the castle though till we knew for certain what the security leak was, because people CONSTANTLY broke in and out of it without our knowledge. Sure it wasn't the best idea, I admit that, but we wouldn't have been chased out by another uninvited visitor.
>>
>>25985142
Well, I mean, 7 ft tall guy isn't exactly a beast. Not like fluffy or angel or whatever. I doubt that he alone would draw too much attention.

An I'm DEFINITELY not saying that we should even provide any sort of flesh crafted beasts in the first place. I agree with you there at least.

And if vampires are really that concerned with the status quo that they would come all the way to Mori to stop a revolution, then we really need to get the hell outa Dodge and look for ways other than communism to gain power.
>>
>>25985312
Okay, clarifying this post. If grand Victoria fights Mori, we can help, but my too much. If vampires IN grand Victoria get involved, RUN.
>>
>>25984929
So offer fleshcrafting in exchange for magical supplies? Anything else?

Remember, you only have one chance to make a good first impression.
>>
>>25985421
That's tipping our hand and offering too much right now. We don't know how they'll respond to our fleshcrafting. Just ask for a sizeable estate. That's relatively harmless in the grand scheme of things.
>>
>>25985421
Heh, push our helmsman off the side of the boat, then go pick him up, it could survive a fall like that right?

If I saw something like that I'd be impressed, too bad we don't have scarlet with us, that would do it.

I agree with >>25985466
we really don't need a government position at this time, just somewhere to lay low in style
>>
>>25985477
And mostly so we have a permanent place to set up our Mori door in Castlevania.
>>
>>25985477
Well, we're on the ground at the moment, so...
>>
>>25985421
>offer fleshcrafing

SUBTLE fleshcrafing, if any. We really sont want to make it that obvious that Mori has our personal assistance so heavily involved.
>>
>>25985466
>>25985477
>>25985504

So what you want is:
> low demands on your time from Mori
> Estate in Mori
> anything else?

To make this more likely you will do... What, exactly?
>>
>>25985421

When the war starts we really should have the massive amount of bodies sent to us for fleashcrafting.
>>
>>25985544
I say no fleshcrafting, not until Mori likes us.
>>
>>25985577

I would go for magic council and using our support in GV to help out a bit. After all our magical knowledge is much higher then a normal human.
>>
>>25985577
Meet the people personally, obviously. Simply having a famous freedom fighter must do wonders for morale.

The Mori/GV cold war is its own kettle of fish and shouldn't spill over to the rest of our holdings without other vampires getting involved. We're already getting installed in an intelligence position, so if any supernaturals are angling to make a move, and we're aware of it, we might inform them.
>>
>>25985577
Haha oh wow now that I think about it:

"You are a powerful and inspiring figure! If you help us in our plight then we will give you an estate as well as protection!"

"Hmm how about instead I don't help you at all and you give me my estate and asylum against the inquisition for free?"
>>
>>25985714
Well, no, we're already promised a government position, meaning we'll have to do SOME work.
>>
>>25985577
We can point out our General and inform them of how strong her is and say that he is merely one of the resources that we can bring to the table. Start talking about magical theory, go as far over their heads as possible, prove how much more we know about magic, fleshcrafting or otherwise, than they do.

Point out our connections in odd places and that we'll be far more aware of any supernaturals who come in to mess with them than they will be.
>>
>>25985692
Yeah at this point just talk and play up our intelligence ability. Try to help in a more subtle way.
>>
>>25985765
Still, we aren't bringing much to the table.
>>
>>25985818
Basically, we're just asking for a nice house to work out of. If they ask for particulars, say we need the space to perate.
>>
>>25985861
As we're rafting about again I will now go to sleep.
>>
>>25977805
Second all of these questions.

- What is the state of post-revolution Mark?
- How did our exploits play in Shadecast? Was it seen as dangerous and foolish? Or bold and revolutionary?
- Are the commies still hanging on like FARC rebels in rural areas?
>>
>>25986001
We won't know until we reconnect with Scarlet and Castlevania, and that'll take a little doing. Until we get reoriented, we're out of the loop.
>>
Given that he's expressed an interest in what our vampiric powers would bring to his rebellion, we should lay our knowledge of the supernatural as a consultant on the table. I'm sure he's got more than a few nasty magical issues we would be well equipped to deal with.

Likewise, he's expressed an interest in our methods- which means that our intelligence and administrative abilities are desired as well. Offer them. We can assist in competently planning and executing large-scale plans, as our recent revolution- failed, but nevertheless a remarkable feat of social engineering- shows. That's extremely valuable.

Do not offer fleshcrafting, at least not at the moment. It's not what he's looking for.
>>
>>25985954
Good night.

Well then, to help speed up our decision for the next thread lets weigh some pros and cons of getting more involved in this revolution.

Pro: we gain more widespread support of Mori, a a young republic with some massive potential. Alucard compared it to the French Republic earlier, after all.

Con: we get entangled in a fight which isn't really ours, and the more we get involved, the more likely the vampire(s) who chased us off last time will come for us again.

I would say that I hate getting tied down with endless discussion and no action, but how we present ourselves here and the deals we make will almost certainly have an immense impact on the future of this quest.

Hopefully.
>>
>>25986144
Better to take the time to come to an informed decision than have another GV.

capcha
>1739 orkuded
Poor ork 1739, he was so young.
>>
>>25986144
we need more information on what attacked us. was it a werewolf, a dumb beast, an awakened vampire, what? and Alucard, did you roll for what happened in the timeskip, or did you just arbitrarily decide? not recriminating, just curious
>>
>>25986321
He said he would use some dice.
