"The untested grow weak.
The weak perish.
Those unwilling to change, fade into history."

Guess what time it is, kids? That's right!
It's time to gather in reverent worship of Rozooll, God-Eater!

Previous thread can be found here:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/25942865/

Hopefully The Scrivener is okay...and welcome to any Troll-Civ Bros that are here while waiting for the next thread.

Brief Recap:

The Queen finally underwent another Evolution. After emerging, she had developed an enhanced form of Genetic Ingestion, allowing her selective assimilation of consumed species by Devouring them.
~
Princess Mazooll has hatched from her egg! Though recent events have prevented her from receiving much attention...
~
Medinh finally returned, though suspiciously late, claiming that in addition to failing his mission, a large party of around 100 bloodthirsty humans were marching towards Greenhome. This was confirmed after Rozooll used her powers of Farsight.
~

>E) Study Magic
Lets try to whip up some sand storms to fuck with those Kaalun wankers
>>
>>25965262
Now, when you said the warriors were becoming more skilled with the new weapons, does that mean we have two warriors trained with swords because we have two swords, or that those two had been used to give all our warriors some basic sword training?

In any case, get some workers to smelting the shinies and forging some more spears, and maybe task some curious ones towards weapon design. Something with a little more range, preferably.
>>
>>25965262
A) as per usual
B) anyone who isn't busy
D) curious ones on hive defenses
E) magics that can help in defense, either to coordinate or to hamper the attackers
F) tunellers make booby traps like mad fuck around the hive. Make even approach it as costly for the enemy as possible
G) nomads keep scouting
G) warriors train. Focus on tactics now and get squads assembled instead of focusing on learning the weapons
>>

lets focus on some good old fashioned sandstorms.

>>
>>25965333
Thirded. Make a huge-ass sandstorm to take down the majority of the invaders, then send warriors out to clean up.
>>
>>25965507
I'm all for throwing a sandstorm at them, especially if we can do it without our fruit trees getting screwed up too hard by it, but unless they are beaten back by just that, we shouldn't send anyone -out- if we can help it. We have a serious home field advantage in/around the hive.
>>
>>25965262

Preparations for the impending attack begin:

Harvest and Scavenging yield 9.1 Units of food.
~
The Curious Ones, in combination with the Workers, focus on improving the defenses of the Hive. Work shall continue through next turn...
~
The Queen focuses on honing her magic, especially her influence over the desert that they reside in. Her study is promising, thanks to the heartening worship of her children. With enough concentration, willpower, and the faith of her children, she could summon a mighty sandstorm. However, this could devastate the farms kept in the Oasis above...
~
Tunnelers are dispatched outside to dig sand traps to hamper the efforts of the Kaalun forces.
~
1 Day until the Kaalun attack force arrives...

B) scavengers, any nomads not scouting. Curious ones
F) tunnelers internal defense
G) make ready to sandstorm the fuck out of the shell-less heretics when they arrive
G) warriors rest and maje ready
>>
>>25965507
Fourthed.

Meantime, we might want to make a few more weapons. We have what, two swords? A few spears? We need to arm our warriors for the impending battle.
>>
>>25965694
This, but with workers cranking out a few more swords/spears before the battle.
>>
>>25965806
I second this.
>>
>>25965606

A small group of Workers are sent to harvest whatever remains above ground. Fruits are stored separately, in case the Oasis becomes horribly damaged by a Sandstorm.
(+5.4 Units of food)
~
Scavengers, Nomads, and the Curious Ones gather in the hatchery to praise their Queen. Their faith makes her spirit soar, filling her being with their power.
~
The other Workers have made more armaments for the Warriors.
[+7 Spears, 5 Swords, 2 Daggers]
[-10 shiny bars]
~
Tunnelers have formed pockets and alcoves on the sides of the Hive. These will make prime ambushing points, should the Hive be breached.
[+2 shiny ore chunks]
~
The Queen mentally and physically prepares herself for her first true display of magical force. She is prepared to cast Sandstorm any time now.
~
The Warriors prepare as well, now well familiar with their recently developed weapons. They eagerly anticipate testing them for the first time on the approaching heretics.

Food production is more plentiful above ground, with more room and varieties of food.
I'd say it's about 60% from the surface, 40% underground.

Update comin'...
>>
>>25966286

We should leave all the tunnelers with them; if they are here to stir some trouble we ought to be prepared.

Still wary of Medinh and his acolytes, all of the Tunnelers are left with orders to kill them should they try anything funny.
~
Now that the Kaalun forces just upon the Oasis, Rozooll summons her strength and focuses her mind. As though from instinct, she chitters and waves her hands in strange patterns through the air. Outside, the wind starts to howl and sand starts to tear past the mouth of Greenhome.
The howling continues for quite a while longer before the Queen, exhausted, collapses.
~
Workers, while the sandstorm raged, continue harvest of the mushrooms.
(+3.2 Units of food)
~
Roaring, incomprehensible cries can be heard outside Greenhome and, as they near, seem to falter. Perhaps they weren't expecting the Rozoolliim to have a gate and realize that their enemies may be more than mindless chattering insects...

Just as they contemplate their place here, the gates flood open and out pour the Children of Rozooll...

>>25966706
>>25966862

Things couldn't be more hectic for the attackers. Disoriented and now frightened that they're clearly facing sentient creatures, not mindless beasts, they try to plant themselves and fight as best they can.
The Warriors charge from the gate, many with weapons in hand. (One even has a dagger in each hand, what a badass!)
The spear-wielding Warriors charge them, immediately impaling the front line, much to their companions' horror. Meanwhile, in the confusion, the Warriors with swords and daggers flank them, cutting down the sides of their forces, soaking the mouth of Greenhome with blood and organs.
Some manage to retaliate and cut down a few of the Warriors, a few orbs of fire being hurled into the fray, but the wave is too much for them to handle for long...they turn to retreat!

>A) Pursue them! Though...the sun is going down and no child of Rozooll has braved the dark desert before...

It's sand, not razor-blades. The storm's biggest danger is dehydration, as wind and sand strike your skin they drain you of moisture like nothing else. In addition, you can get lost with sickening ease and the chafing from the storm can become infected very easily. It gets in your eyes and clothes and orifices, making it a living nightmare and every breath a pain. A sandstorm won't kill you, but it will make you wish it had.

Take captives where possible, cut them down to a man where not. Spears in front, lance them in the legs. Daggers and swords hang back to punish anyone who turns to fight.

Their advantage is clear, fighting in this terrain clearly is in the Warriors' favor. Their spears drive into the heels of the fleeing peoples and the few who dare turn and fight are quickly cut down. A few Warriors are cut down, but not enough to give the residents of Kaalun any more confidence in their decisions. Before long, the desert is freckled with blood. The remaining forces, knowing their defeat, surrender. Victory goes to the Mistress of the Sands and her children!

We'll have enough biomass from the dead army as it is, we may as well turn the rest into converts. We gotta indoctrinate them We gotta get Medinh to incorporate them into the cult

This cult is gonna be our connection to other civilization

WE can't straight up walk up to settlements and trade, they'll kill us on sight. So we gotta get this cult beefed up with followers, especially city guards who might have connection back in the city.

I vote for this
Eat the fire throwers and one city guard then Indoctrinate the rest into the cult. Have the rest of the indoctrinated city guards go back to the city. Saying they killed the beast yadda yadda. Then we get them to move up to higher position such as the Commandant of the city guard or even the king of the city.

I guess we could turn tunnelers into CC specialists, but there's no real need. We have a force of soldiers with unquestionable loyalty and obedience, easily replenished and adaptable. We want quantity, not quality.

What we *will* want to evolve is genetic memory. We want our warriors born with the skills and abilities of those who fertilized them. Why bother with training when we can hardcode every one of them to be as badass as double-daggers guy?
>>
>>25967875

we could give the tunnelers a function as terror troops or sappers by enhacing their diggins skills.

in the first option, they dig under civilian territory and make a trap, once a person steps in it, they shred her to pieces.

in the second option, they tunnel fortifications until they collapse
>>
>>25968037

I agree with this guy. We want a swarm, not fagget genestealers. And genetic memory is an amazing idea, we want super boss double dagger warriors.

We should ramp up our selective breeding every generation with this, insects can't be inbred so theres no issue with that, we can go super Eugenics on this stuff.

>>
>>25968129

Tunnelling fortifications until they collapse would be awesome, tactically sound and wouldn't require us to spend any evo points, we can already do it.

In fact, we SHOULD do it in our attack on Kaalun.
>>
>>25968129
Make 'em sappers.

We need a wall to become a pile of rubble? Tunnelers.

We need to sneak underneath a fortification?

Tunnelers.

We need disco?

Fucking tunnelers.

We need?

Tunnelers.
>>
>>25968129

Tunnelers as sappers and ambush experts is a cool idea. Once we have genetic memory we should see if we can find some trapdoor spiders or other ambush predators and give our tunnelers that instinct.
>>
>>25967625

The captured attackers are led back into the Hive. Kept inside the arena under heavy guard, they are marched to the hatchery in small groups. The first to be brought to Rozooll looks up, fear evident in his face. Rozooll's eyes go alight with orange light as she makes contact in his mind.

"Speak quickly, creature, and your death will be quick. What of your home? What are its defenses? Who protects this place? Do not try my patience..."

The warrior, unsure of himself, speaks at length:
"M...ma'am...Queen! Uh...we're most of all of them. There's only a couple dozen left manning the p-posts back home. P-please...we didn't know...we can-"

Before he can finish, Rozooll, content with this information, scoops him up, Devouring him within seconds.
Heretic after heretic is led into the chamber, ritualistically fed to the God-Queen until she has had her fill. The rest are left to her children, who immediately turn to feast on the rest.

actually, we can evolve by eating... so we should eat the tunneling worms back home to improve our tunneler caste.

since we still got the evo for another mutation, i think we could use it this way:

evolve > Genetic memory jelly > Queens and princesses now produce a form of jelly that can be feed to other castes, once they are given this delicious as fuck paste, they grow stronger, faster and overally better, inside the duties of their caste, this also increases their value as studs for reproduction
>>
>>25968260
oh... and the jelly causes THAT evolved caste member to transmit their memories trough genetics
>>
>>25968236
We had a plan a bit back about making a rust monster/subterfuge class.

I suppose we could give the tunnelers some kind of high-level acid spit/secretion, and have those act as the all purpose tunneler/sabotage/subterfuge caste.

b-but muh genestealers

To be honest I also agree with you on the fact that we need a swarm but I still stick with wanting genestealers.

We are using technology that right now is probably very primitive, if we have genestealers our technological know how would increase exponentially. The swarm is a good idea but we aren't using our naturally evolved sharp claws as weapons, we depend on technology to arm our forces. Making genestealers to trade and acquire technology would make our forces better armed and perhaps we can make complex fortresses also

You're thinking in non-hive terms. We aren't a human colony. The Queen can *always* birth more warriors, at a rate a thousand times faster than humans. Right now the enemy expects a victorious raiding party, they are entirely unprepared. We attack now and butcher their warriors and as many of their worker-forms as possible.

Even if every drone we send is killed, there are *always* more. Meanwhile, our enemies are crippled forever, completely at our mercy. If we can force a surrender of the enemy city, we might well be able to convoy them back to the hive as food and genestock.

This is natural selection, and we are selecting Glory.

Also we don't need any more damn castes. We have a racial bonus to technology, and we have human agents to liase with the outside world and trade. Lets use what we have.

Also, speaking of which, we should indoctrinate some willing captives (under close supervision). In any population, after conquest, there will be some who will happily sell out their fellows. We've been evolving a lot lately, it could kill our beloved Queen. Invade first, have her focus on birthing more eggs. When this operation is concluded, we can evolve genetic memory. No need for any special jelly, it's simply automatic that offspring retain the skills of whomever fertilized their eggs. We can select which warriors/workers etc. do this through extraordinary deeds like Double Dervish, or hold contests to identify exemplars. Inside of three generations we'll have the finest fighters in the world.

That's human thinking, Heretic. Insects don't need recognition or reward, they are known to the others of the hive for their deeds and that is all they need. We honor them by taking their abilities skills unto the next generation (Once we have genetic memory) and in using their bodies to fertilize the gardens that feed the Great Mother. Who needs monuments but the Great Mother, when every child of the hive will remember their heroic deeds through his genetic legacy?

Insects don't give medals, they are entirely more reverential of their heroes.

A) Replant our topside losses
B) Have the departing warriors sing exaltation to the Mother before they leave, that they might see her and honor her one last time before their possible demise.
C) We know our target, no need to explore.
D) Have the curious ones study the bows to understand their properties.
E) The Great Mother should rest, still. If she is able, she should resume laying eggs to bolster the Hive.
F) Could the workers clear the site for a tower above the ground? Remove plant life, mark boundaries and prepare it for further work?

G) Our warriors should consult with the Great Mother to learn the nature of the enemy Hive. The height of the walls, the gates, the nature of the buildings. Does the Mother remember (from the devoured humans) how to open the gates, or is there a signal that will make the humans render themselves vulnerable? Where are the guardhouses?

The swarm is far more deadly with target priority. We destroy their warriors, then their Queen, then we set about harvesting the Workers.

Instruct the war party to seek new forms of harvest plants if victorious, and bring seeds back to the Hive.
>>
>>25969036

Bodies are disposable, armor is worthless when our warriors can be bred for natural carapace. We have no fear of death, why not focus on slaying the enemy more effectively.

This is /tg/, sir, and we are better than insults and names. We are better than personal attacks and language a 12-year-old would employ. You do not have the moral or personal right to declare someone or their ideas stupid just because you disagree, you actions shame yourself and the board. Grow up and speak like an adult, explain why the idea is foolish if you think so, and use the ability to reason and communicate you were born with.

I am not 'retarding' us out of anything, I simply don't think it is worth our limited resources to build defensive armament, when our losses do not affect us outside of a genocide. Our advantage is our nigh-unstoppable efficiency, and we shoul play to that strength. I have a position, all you have is a foul mouth and a repulsive attitude.

A worthy idea, and juggernauts are a very viable tactic, but consider the alternative. For every suit of armor, a certain amount of swords or shields go unmade. We have bodies in tremendous quantity, and by forsaking armor we can better arm our numerically superior forces. Hell, we could truly increase our military potential by outfitting our warriors with a range of weapons; Spear, Shield, Sword and Bow, allowing them to fight in a range of formations (very much a boost, given how our discipline and training has the potential to be flawless) easily and adapt to any situation.

Once you've reached a base level of defense, each pound of steel can be spent *better* on other improvements. Not to mention that with natural carapace, our warriors stay extremely mobile (and unhindered by desert sand), encasing them with steel would make their home turf hard to traverse and slow them down. It's a matter of efficiency.

I suggest a compromise; make some small armor pieces like helms and maybe gauntlets, to protect vital combat faculties and lower the rate of fatalities. This keeps us from using too much steel on defenses, while improving our warriors beyond incidental death. And hey, you can add plumes to them so we can be Legion Bugs.

Obviously that was a long term plan for the day when the children of our Great Mother has expanded beyond the desert.

Refer to my earlier statement about wearing plate being dumb in the desert for more information.

Dang, just caught up as it ended for the day. Oh well, idea that's been sitting as I read through the backlog:

Prophet Caste -> Winged, Humanoid Insects with mouths capable of human speech bred solely to communicate with Cultists, so that meetings can take place outside of the hatching room with our Queen and Princess inside. That's kind of risky.

Good idea. Seconded.

I could start a little earlier, since there's nothing really going on that day. How's about 0:00, 4Chan time?

Sorry, man! It's just that it's getting too late for me. Wish I could afford to stay up longer. Good idea, though. I'll write it down and put it up in the next thread for discussion. Maybe I'll see ya Sunday!

I archived the thread here:

If you guys care to, voting it up would be awesome, to keep it afloat until people could read through it by Sunday.

Good night, children!
