So I just finished re-watching the Rebuild movies with a friend and it made me realize that I haven't heard anything about AdEva for a long time. Is v3 still in playtesting?

Pretty much. It's less Shinji being good at his job and more that his eva's prone to RIP AND TEAR even when he's curled up and has no idea what he's doing.

well
one of them was the dummy plug
>>
>>25941866
3rd: berserker, credit goes to Unit 01/Yui
4th: legit
5th: legit but could easily have swapped Unit 00 and 01 roles
6th: dual credit w/ Asuka
7th: see above
8th: Asuka killed it
9th: as above
10th: as above
11th: RITSUKO MOTHERFUCKING AKAGI
12th: legit I guess
13th: dummy plug
14th: I'll give him this one; he was stomping Big Z's shit in until he ran out of power, berserker just finished it off
15th: Rei
16th: as above
17th: does it count if he wanted to die? I don't think so.

Final tally: Shinji 6, Asuka 5, Rei 2 (3 if you give dual credit for Ramiel), Yui 1 (2 if you dc Zeruel), Akagi 1, dummyplug 1.

tl;dr: Shinji has more kills but only because Asuka and Yui carried him there.

Not accurate. Asuka tanked the acid goop shit for Shinji, who landed the killing shot on Matarael, with a Pallet Rifle tossed to him by Rei. Team effort, team credit.

To be fair to the L85, the A2 models actually kick ass unless you're a southpaw in which case you're ten kinds of fucked.
The real mercy we should give the Pallet Rifle is this:
"The pallet gun? Oh lord, not another reporter asking about that travesty. Look, no one had ever designed something that large to be moved before. To fire at anything other than single shot? Never. To be accurate in the hands of someone 40 meters tall? Does this line of questioning answer your question?
I admit, the thing is and was pathetic, perhaps the single worst part is that we can’t get rid of them, its listed in the production procedures that 'all Evangelions are to be issued a Mark 2 progressive Knife, and a Pallet Rifle at the time of production.' Now the progressive Knife, there’s a solid piece of work, designed by some no name corporation that made Box cutters. Can you believe that? Box cutters. Even has a built in second blade in the event the first one
shatters."
>>25942859

Oh god let me tell you about Misato's incompetence.
Sachiel: she couldn't do shit about that.
Shamshel: she sent Shinji in without doing ANYTHING to determine the target's capabilities, and he nearly got slice'n'diced by hentai tentacle monster.
Ramiel: SAME SHIT, this time he nearly got COOKED by giant laser.
Gaghiel: The Asuka Show. Misato did nothing but authorise deployment (which at that point had already happened anyway).
Israfel: The Asuka Show Episode Two: Bloopers Edition. KAJI came up with the plan.
Sandalphon:
>There's an embryonic angel inside an active volcano! How do we kill and/or capture it?
>LET'S DROP OUR MOST COMBAT-CAPABLE EVA AND MOST HIGHLY TRAINED PILOT INTO THE VOLCANO ON A TINY LITTLE CABLE! WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
How this plan got approved in the first place I'll never know. I would have drilled into the magma vents below and pumped in shittons of liquid nitrogen, then excavated the fucker.
Matariel: The Asuka Show Episode 3: Asuka Strikes Back
Sahaquiel:
>THIS IS THE ONLY PLAN THAT COULD POSSIBLY WORK EVER AND IT RELIES ON SHINJI BREAKING REALITY
>GOOD LUCK
Iruel:
>oh god how did this get here i am not good with computer
Leliel: once again, engaging a target with insufficient information. WHY DID NOBODY NOTICE THE SINKING CARS?
Bardiel/Unit 03: not her fault, unless she knew about the Dummy Plug and didn't think to test-activate that way.
Zeruel: Gendo being a dick.
Arael: JESUS CHRIST MISATO PROBE THEIR ABILITIES FIRST DO YOU HAVE LEARNING DIFFICULTIES?
Armisael: yes it is perfectly reasonable to expect your pilot to retain perfect combat readiness after being MIND RAPED. ALSO, POKING IT WITH A KNIFE IS NOT HOW YOU PROBE ITS ABILITIES. YOU HAVE STATIC DEFENSES, USE THEM.

Hey guys rate my Eva PC.

Her name is Reiko Cinq, she a half-Angel, half -Demon, half-Human virgin futanari girl. She hates NERV but works with it because the woman she loves is a scientist there.
Her Evangelion is a super prototype that can fly inspace, doesn't use a power cord and has dual beam sabres.
She is half-Demon because her Human base was actually a Demon which are mutant versions of the Angels.
She is trained in bushido and ninjitsu and carries a custom master-made katana.

>and pumped in shittons of liquid nitrogen
And that's the point where the engineering department decides to lock you in a cupboard somewhere while they sort shit out. With liquid nitrogen, you'll take away a little bit of heat to boil it, and then you're left with a gas, which won't do you any further good really. Yeah,it's cold gas, but the heat capacity per volume is bound to the density, which for any gas is negligible. Or you could try water. Easier to work with, much easier to get hold of in the truly preposterous quantities necessary, it'll eat up a bit of energy heating up to the boiling point, and then as it boils it'll eat something like fifteen times the energy per volume (your pumps will be moving volume/time, so per volume is what we care about) that nitrogen did.

You only bother whit liquid nitrogen if you need something s cold as the boiling temp of nitrogen. If you want to solidify magma, anything but water is just plain retarded.

Still, I hope that angel's happy to wait for a year or two while you pull off your little plan.

>POKING IT WITH A KNIFE IS NOT HOW YOU PROBE ITS ABILITIES. YOU HAVE STATIC DEFENSES, USE THEM.

I really don't get the hate for 3. The pacing is... odd, and I think it would have worked better had it and Final been released in conjunction as originally planned, but it doesn't really ruin it for me. The only thing that actually angers me is the continued lack of screentime for Big Bossuka. There had BETTER be plenty of screentime for her in Final.

The pacing is off for me, the "curse of Eva" is really stupid, Wunder strikes me as incredibly clashing with the rest of the series for some reason, and Shinji goes full retard. Plus Gendo's new design is hideous.

It also doesn't have enough good fights for me, which is a stupid complaint but I don't care.

I already knew Dark heresy, which is the only reason I ever picked Ad Eva up. I will be abandoning the game when it abandons DH.

Say what you will about the system, but at least it was designed by actual game designers and not random chucklefucks on the internet. Every flaw Ad Eva has can be directly traced to the idiots who tacked shit onto a perfectly good system.

Okay lets set up the background.

The Reason Only War was used was so that we could facilitate Dual Pilot system via NPC co pilots that gave us stat boosts.

Anyway aside from that basic premise is the same as PacRim, but with "Angels" coming from the stars too.

So what you wind up with is the UN funding 2 programs, one for Evas, one for Jaegers. Lack of predictable enemies mean that Wall Program is fucked so you have no shortage of Evas and Jaegers.

Primarly difference here is that Evas don't have the whole "It needs a dead person's soul" to work thing going on, just a Link between the Brain of the Pilot running it and good Synergy between the human mind and Eva mind.

Oh and the Angels started out using christian Mythology for their imagery at first and then branched out into Muslim and Hebrew mythology and started picking up other myth forms as they went along, apparently they're led by telepathic beings who don't have much in the way of imagination and they use the myths of whatever populace they're trying to conquer to determine their combat forms.

With that out of the way I'll describe the PCs we had.
>>
>>25952303
>they use the myths of whatever populace they're trying to conquer to determine their combat forms.
Hey, if you want to wage psychological warfare, nothing is quite as efficient as using a weapon that looks like the target's god. If nothing else, the target may hesitate.

So first off we had an Operations Director, this chick was a Russian with 10 years of Experience as in the General Infantry (worked her way up from the ranks and became an officer) and 10 more years as a commander during the Kaiju War (or Angel War if you're in the Eva Program) Her name is Natasha Solokov, tall, blond, likes business suits and firearms. Her main role in battle was to talk us through stuff and send support in the form of artillery fire, Gunships, Airstrikes, and the occasional drop of auxilliary weapons.

Then we had Charlotte Braun, German chick, lost her parents in an Angel rampage that destroyed 3/4ths of Berlin. Short, tough, gruff, and a little crazy. didn't have a copilot. Used an Eva modeled on a Knight. Had a shield, tended to use a rifle with a bayonet as her main weapon and kept a pistol in each of her pylons. This bitch LOVED shields.

Finally we got Zacharius Stone, American, Lost most of his family in a Kaiju Rampage in San Fran early in the Kaiju War. He was originally paired up with a British RAF Pilot called Jonathan Black but his co Pilot was KIA during an Action to defend Japan against a combination Angel and Kaiju raid. Black forced Stone into the Jaeger's only functional escape pod and Black drowned when the Con Pod filled with water. He was out of action for the better part of a year due to Psych Eval and then paired up with Chie Okada, a pilot transferred over from the Angel Program. Young, arrogant, talented. She hated Angels and Kaiju both and pretty much lived to kill the things. It was hoped that Stone's worldly experience would temper her negative personality traits. Oh and they piolted Leo Shining Stone's Refurbished MK2 Jaeger. It used Laser weapons mounted in the shoulders, helmet, and gauntlets and could slide its gauntlets forward and use the Lion Jaws mounted on them to grip and spin the things to maim and tear off enemy flesh.

I'll get to the story proper now.

Honestly, playing into folklore like that would actually probably be a really great way to waste their resources by playing on their expectations.

> release some monster that looks like a werewolf into their city
> everyone freaks
> anyone bitten by it is killed by a panicked mob/kept under heavy army quarantine
> army, knowing how this ends, stocks up on silver bullets...
> silver bullets don't do shit. It only LOOKS like a werewolf. They are not actually any more effective, but you just wasted time and money procuring them anyway.

Not sure what the Evangelion equivalent of that would be, though.

We do have rules for angelspawn, y'know. But even then, bear in mind that Iruel was a tiny, tiny angel by any standard. An angel the size of a werewolf might prove interesting for combat, and might be useful in a modified version of "Horror in the eighth dimension" from [REDACTED]. Can you imagine the fun of having an indescribable horror stalk the pilots through NERV?

In case you're not familiar with Jaegers I'll go over the piloting procedure. Basically pilots are linked, each pilot controls one hemisphere of the mech, much like the two hemispheres of the brain controlling one side of the body each. When linked they form a gestalt mind, they're still individuals but throughts and emotions Drift from on pilot to another. This effect is, amusingly enough, called The Drift.

As such Pilots must be compatable, the stronger their bond the better they pilot the mech. Thus all Jaeger pilots must undergo intense Psychological Evaluation and pair up with another pilot, skill is important, but not as important as compatability.

Anyway, our main base was set up in the Toxic Ruins of Tokyo, which was destroyed by the Kaiju Onibaba early in K-War. This was considered very unusual, it was set up by one of the directors of the E-Program, in fact Solokov and Stone were briefed by one of the J-Program marshalls before they were sent over to Japan.

See the UN was starting to get suspicious of the A-Program. Telepathy was a proven fact thanks to the J-Program, long term Jaeger Pilots could share dreams with their partner and even tell if their partner was in danger, so the Myth forms of the "Angels" were no great surprise.

But the people in charge of the A-Program seemed particularly adverse to allowing their Eva Pilots to undergo Psych Evaluation and they actively resisted UN Oversight at every turn. Now Evas are powerful fighters, and the world needs them as much as it needs the Jaegers, thus why the E-Program got its funding.

But it seems the people in charge of the E-Program are out of control. So Solokove and Stone are sort of deep cover agents sent as part of a project to see just what the hell is going on in the ruins of Tokyo.

So anyway we get down to tokyo, and yeah its in ruins. The whole city is either smashed to hell or rendered toxic by Kaiju Blue. The place was hit by an Angel Attack almost month after the Kaiju rendered the place unihabitable for normal humans so its pretty much considered cursed by the average Japanese person.

so Solokov is Stone's nominal commanding officer, he considers her decisions to override any orders given to him by E-Program personel, especially since she's been bumped up to the rank of Marshal for this endeavour.

So on the flight over to Tokyo's "Steadfast Fortress" Marshal Solokov gives Ranger Stone a comm bead so she can contact him in the future if she has to. It looks like one of those bluetooth earpod thingies, apparently those are popular in the future.

So they get to the base and are greeted by Goemon Wantanabe, this guy is in charge of the A-Program the entire thing and he introduces Ranger Stone to Chie Okada, she's apparently been pretty eager to meet her new partner and is somewhat disappointed.

Stone is in his early 30s, his hair is starting to grey from a combination of poor genes and stress, and he's an insomniac. He doesn't look like much. Whereas Chie is in her early 20s, graduated the top of her class and was heading towards piloting an Eva Prototype before Director Wantanabe selected her to be Stone's partner.

So Marshal Solokov greets Director Wantanabe, he's kind of cold and its pretty clear he doesn't appreciate having J-Program types here. But it was either Solokov and Stone or a UN Investigative team so he took the Marshall and the Ranger and gave the Ranger one of his Pilots.

From there he gave us a tour of his facilities, the Control Room, the Eva Hangar (which was being modified so it could better service Leo Shining) and of course the Crew Quarters where Stone and Solokov would live.

So it turns out Stone and Okada are housed in the same unit. (A couple of rooms and some bathing facilities, meals are taken in the Mess.) Which means they're going to spending a lot of time together. Chie likes J-Pop, Zacharius likes Johnny Cash, aside from dead relatives and a universal hatred of Angels and Kaiju they don't have much in common.

Solokov meanwhile gets a set of quarters to herself. She pretty much takes it for granted that her room is bugged. Furthermore she and Stone are literally surrounded by A-Project personel, if she wants to get answers on what the A-Project is keeping secret she's going to have to be sneaky.

So before either Stone or Solokov can do much of anything an Alarm starts blaring through the base. Apparently an Angel has hit the ocean a couple hundred miles off of Osaka (They usually use space rocks as a vehicle and then impact the Earth, specifically the ocean since there's so much of it.) Okada is raring to go but Solokov and Stone have reservations, usually pilots at least go through simulations before they enter The Drift together.

Wantanabe doesn't want to hear it. If Stone isn't a coward he'll get in his mech and fight. Solokov's about ready to deck the guy but Stone makes it clear that he's fine with fighting, and reminds that Solokov needs to stay calm if they want their mission to succeed.

So Ranger Stone and Lieutenant Okada go down to the Eva Hangar Stone dons the Armor of Heroes (his Jaeger Piloting suit) and Okada puts on a modified Plug Suit. They enter the drift and Leo Shining is deployed into the field.

The Jaeger is picked up by some Cargo Helicopters and lifted to the Combat sight, unusually enough it seems that the Tokyo Base didn't have any Evas prepped and ready for use.

Only the E-Program Pilots and Directors could tell you if this is normal though.

So under ideal circumstances a pair of linked pilots wouldn't have to roll or anything.

But this is AdEva, losing your goddamn mind is half the fun right? So the GM makes Stone roll for Drift Visions. Apparently Lieutanant Okada has her share of daddy issues, apparently she feels that if she just excells her father will recognize her as being as strong and useful as her brothers. Meanwhile Okada gets treated to a flashback of Ranger Stone watching his mentor cram him into an escape pod before launching them.

Yeah they take Sanity Damage, and Director Wantanabe manages to lose his status as "Surrogate Father Figure" to Ranger Stone as the guy does his best to help Lieutenant Okada reach a fight ready state of mind before their deployed in the Angel Combat Zone.

Marshal Solokov sets up in the command center. Director Wantanabe does NOT like this but there's not much he can do to expel a 40 year old Ex-Spetnaz from his command room so he just sits in his command chair and pretends he isn't pouting while Solokov asks his personel questions about E-Program Protocol.

Anyway Leo Shining finally gets deployed and winds up on the ocean floor, its cool she was designed for that. So the jaeger closes the distance and finds an enormous rock with thousands of black legs jutting from it on the sea floor, and its being engaged by an Eva that's using its shield as a diving scooter.

Apparently sthe shield can mount her rifle, which fires torpedoes, not bullets, and it uses water jets as its form of propulsion.

Obviously this is Lieutenant Braun and her Eva Unit-047

So Unit-047 seems to have things pretty well in hand, she's blown off a few of the Angel's legs and aside from lunging it doesn't seem to be doing much of anything worthwhile in the attacks department.

Then the rock bursts open with explosive force and Eva-047 is sent tumbling. Apparently Braun goofed on her toughness saves because her pilot is rendered unconcious for a few rounds. Which leaves us to deal with the Angel.

It's a around 500 feet long, has a body like a snake, only its body has all these tiny millipede like legs jutting from either side. Where a head would be its got a humanoid torso with a pair of arms, and a head which is basically its core underneath a complicated looking headress that serves as armor for the core.

So the Angel is about to turn on Eva-047 when Leo Shining hits its hind end with a volley of laser fire. This gets blocked by its AT field but then Okada reveals that two humans working in tandem can overcome an AT field if the focus hard enough. It'd be easier if we had the proper equipment but if we try hard enough we can use The Drift to overcome the Angel's AT field by Generating our own AT Field.

Basically we roll to attack and overcome the Angel's AT Field, if we fail badly enough we take San Damage.

So the Angel takes a few successful laser strikes before it gets sick of them and tries to strangle Leo Shining to death with its bulk. This proves to be monumentally stupid as it just puts the majority of its body within striking range and Jaeger's are MUCH tougher than Evas.

Leo Shining rolls to overcome the Naga Angel's AT field, she crits it and manages to strike the Naga Angel's core from afar with a Con-Pod Laser strike (basically EYE BEAMS) destroying the head dress and damaging the core.

This causes the Angel to uncoil on reflex and Leo Shining deploys its vice gauntlets and sinks them into the Naga's body. It begins climbing up its body, blasting off leg-arms as it goes.

By this time Unit 047's pilot has woken up and she gets back into the fight by finding her shield and using it to ride up to the Angel's head, it can't pay attention to both the Eva and the Jaeger and that costs it, big time. Unit 047 leaps from its diving sooter shield onto the Angel's head, draws a pistol and shoots it a couple dozen times in the core at point blank range. The Angel dies and both Osaka Base and Tokyo base go wild.

This of course means that Leo Shining and Unit 047 need pick up.

Wantanabe wants Leo Shining to wait on the sea floor for around 6 hours so he can get an A-Project ship he trusts to pick them up.

Solokov tells him to get stuffed, she wants to know how Unit 047 was deployed and how its going to be picked up.

Apparently there's a modified aircraft carrier nearby and it can service no less than 3 Evas at a time and it should be able to carry a Jaeger in a pinch.

Needless to say Stone and Okada are more than happy to share hangar bay with Unit 047 if it means they won't be trapped on the sea floor for 6 or so hours.

I disagree.

Blankstare manus can be played for laughs. Stoic NS can as well (see Full Metal Panic).

The worst character archetype is feral berserkers.

You know. That guy who makes an Eva to eats everything it can get its claws on, and for some reason this means that the pilot is a feral wildchild in desperate need of some antipsychotics. They never cause anything but trouble, and not even in a terribly interesting way or something setting appropriate.

NS and Manu, for all of their faults, at least have a basis in AdEva's basic setting. Feral Kids are something totally bullshit that everyone seems to pull out of their ass at the same time, without any actual explanation for how it got up in there.

So Unit 047 rides its shield up to the surface and is retrieved by the aircraft carrier that brought it out here. Then shield makes its way down to the sea floor.

Leo Shining is bigger and heavier than an Eva but the shield is able to handle it. (If only barely.) Again, the equipment on the ship strains to haul Leo Shining into the Hangar Bay, but manages it.

From here Stone and Okada are able to disembark and meet Lieutenant Braun, tall, kinda gaunt, friendly woman. Braun suggests they have some coffee after they've stripped out of their plug suits (or armor in the Ranger's case) Stone notes that spare clothes are not in a Jager's standard equipment.

So Braun flags down one of the techs, has some spare sailor uniforms brought in and after Stone and Okada strip out of thier piloting suits they meet up in the mess with Braun for some polite conversation and general commiseration.

Marshal Solokov meanwhile has to deal with a furious Director Wantanabe. He does not like having his decisions questions by an outsider, even if his rank is roughly the same as Solokov's. The base personel seem extremely uncomfortable around both Solokov and Wantanabe and their screaming arguement isn't making things any better.

The man stops just short of throwing her out of his base into the polluted wasteland of Tokyo but eventually storms off, and Solokov follows in a stealthy manner.

But she can't follow him all the way. You see he makes his way down to a resitricted portion of the base. He never hinted this place existed and its guarded by more than a few men who are unquestionably loyal to the Director.

I was lucky, in our previous game. Our berserker, a Neo-Spartan, was the most normal member of the cast.
The Manu Pointman was cripplingly timid and borderline autistic, and the NS Skirmisher was a training-obsessed, ego-driven and deliciously incompetent asshole.
And the Prodigy AT Tact was turned into a chicken nugget in the first session and killed off by the third.

So, by comparison, a kleptomaniacal, selfish and short-fused child-soldier asshole was the closest thing the base had to a straight man.
Ain't AdEva somethin'?

So the Captain of the shipdecides to stop in on Tokyo first since Leo Shining took a real beating in that fight and only Steadfast Tokyo has the means to repair Jaegers in Japan.

Unit 047 was also pretty damaged and it'd be nice if it could get ahold of some standard armaments in case she has to be deployed on land.

Regardless of the reasons the Aircraft Carrier heads for Tokyo. Stone, Braun, and Okada spend that time relaxing and recovering from their fight with the Naga Angel. (Whose corpse was retrieved and is being shipped to a "location with the facilities required to assess this threat.")

Marshal Solokov meanwhile uses her training as an Intelligence Officer and her connections in the Pan Planetary Defence Corps to get some stealth equipment and communications devices so that she can make it into the restricted area.

It turns out that Tokyo steadfast was originally meant to be a Shatterdome, but was wrecked during the Kaiju Onibaba's rampage. The E-Project fortress was built on the ruins and the resstricted section is some manner of research facility.

There are Angel and Kaiju corpses there in varying states of decay under study by the E-Project's top scientists. Furthermore there's evidence that humans have been disected but its not certain as to what the circumstances were in those cases.

Apparently there's yet another restricted area in a sublevel of Tokyo Steadfast that not even Solokov can get access to with her spy tools and training. She makes certain to send this info back to the UN via safe channels.

They basically didn't add things or make a wide array of choices because they weren't things they would choose.

I wanna play a manu that struggles to be emotionless. Like they think they have to be emotionless to do their job and think their job matters more than anything else, 'cause they're literally made to do it. Like they were built and trained to be a machine, they want to be one too, but underneath it all they're still human and just can't deny their feelings.

Not sure where I'd go with it, though. Depends on how they're treated. I could some SAN loss leading to them chanting "I don't feel a thing" or "I can't cry" over and over. Maybe while crying.

Dunno. As impossible as it is, I'd like to think I could start a character out a little off kilter and have them come out of the game MORE normal than they went in. Or at least more sure of themself.

>>25953477
The backgrounds in V3 are even more restrictive as they seem to have split Prod and survivor into a ton of archetypes. So you want to make a charismatic manu? An athletic NS? A nerdy survivor? So obviously Wantanabe was up to something, but Solokov couldn't figure out what, and she couldn't tell Stone anything because now that he'd linked with Okada there was a good chance they'd formed a telepathic bond.

Speaking of which the Aircraft Carrier reached the port of Tokyo Steadfast and offloaded Unit 047 and Leo Shining into the base for repairs along with their pilots.

So Stone and Okada go to bed and they get kidnapped and taken into the restricted section of the base by Wantanabes men.

Now Okada had combat training, but hers lent itself more to piloting an Eva than any real life examples. Stone had combat training that was meant for use on normal human beings. A few rolls and Fate Points later and there were broken bones and bullets wounds passed out among Wantanabes favorite soldiers. Stone had taken damage but nothing important was wounded.

So of course Okada and Stone barricaded the door and began interrogating the head guy, in pretty classic action movie fashion this amounted to kicking the bullet wound in his shin until he fessed up.

Apparently their orders were to administer a paralytic agent to the Pilots so that they'd be able to study the effects of the Drift on pilots as they went through various stimuli. Wantanabe had wanted to find a way to make better Evas and better Pilots and if that meant disecting a few of them so what?
>>
>>25953508

I bet that, as they went crazy and started to act irrational? They would become self destructive.

After all, they are supposed to be an emotionless machine to do a job. If they are letting their emotions and neuroses get the better of them... doesn't that make them a DEFECTIVE machine?

Okada is pissed, Stone is also pissed but he has a plan, first part basically involves tying up or mercy killing Wantanabes guards, hunting down his pet scientists and doing the same to them. But before he does this he activates his communication device and tells Sokolov what happened, SHE gets ahold of Braun and lets her speak to Okada and Stone who tell her the entire thing.

Now its clear that by E-Project protocols Wantanabe is OUR OF LINE and that he has to be stopped, so Braun takes Solokov to her Eva and runs her through the start up process. She also takes some standard weapons and armor from the bases stock and deploys outside of the fortress.

Braun calls up her captain and tells him what happened so the Captain of the ship coms the base and asks Wantanabe what the hell is going on Wantanabe decides he's fucked up but his plan is still salvagable, so he deploys activates his big trump card.

Artifcial Kaiju using Eva tech.

Ever see Gigan? These guys were kinda like that.

An enormous goddamn crabshell filled with cloned Angel flesh and armed with rifles and missiles.

It was backed up by a creature with a massive (I'm talking 1/4th of its body here) chainsaw installed in its head and four arms, each ending in a chainsaw, it was kind of like a cybernetic shark-dog with chainsaws on every conievable limb.

So yeah he opened up the restricted section of the base and deployed the things. Apparently his plan involved using his elite guard and Man Made Kaiju to kill everyone who wouldn't follow him.

Obviously the Cyborg Kaiju went completely out of control and immedietly attacked the base and Unit 047.

I don't know where they pulled the Core Knife out of, but the Sonic Guillotine was actually in the show.

They used it against twin Angel to chop it in half during the dance segment. The script and materials technically call it a "sonic lance", but it was two poles and some kind of cutting field between them. I think that they changed the name because "lance" in that context would just confuse the heck out of us, where Guillotine is more in keeping with how it actually works.

It had all of 4 seconds of screen time and is never explained or used again, but it was totally there.

Also, what I meant to ask was "what canon stuff did they leave out?" The only thing that really comes to mind is the force field box that they try to capture the baby volcano angel in, which was totally worthless at the one thing it was supposed to do against what was probably the weakest angel in the whole show.

So you have Robo-Crab going after Unit 047, you have Sawhead cutting Tokyo Steadfast to pieces and Wantanabe is losing his shit in the Command Center, shooting people and ranting about traitors.

Enter Solokov, she shoots the fuck out of Wantanabe, by some strange miracle the man manages not to get of his vitals struck but Solokov hand cuffs him to a chair and has a Medic attend to him.

So he'll be healthy for the firing squad.

Then she calmly talks the base personel through emergency procedures, has Leo Shining Deployed and calls in an airstrike from the fighter wing based on the carrier.

Leo Shining is prepped for combat and right as she's about to stride out Chainsaw head breaks into the Hangar. The Base Personel haul ass and Leo Shining Tackles the thing and forces it backwards, out of the base via Vice Gauntlets and Laser Blasts.

Unit 047 meanwhile plays a game of Keep Away. She uses her Shield to block missiles and laser blasts from Robo-Crab and returns fire with her rifle's missile launcher and the occasional burst of gunfire.

Solokov keeps an eye on the action, using feeds from the Jaeger and Eva and calmly advises them. he main plan is to force the Robo Kaiju away from the base so that they can call in some bombers and start using smart bombs and maybe a few drone strikes to help the Jaeger and Eva finish off the Robo Kaiju.

Wantanabe is drugged into a light coma so he won't cause any trouble. His elite guard have surrendered to MPs and his scientists are called into the control room.

...I remember a sonic glaive, which was just a spear. I don't remember any sonic guillotine.

Also, the electromagnetic crossbow, most of the non-knife melee weapons (which can be made with only a heavy investment and are rarely worth it compared to just basic shit).

It doesn't help that the rules themselves are just pretty shite too.
>>
>>25953850

Oh. Well if you are counting Rebuild then yeah, I suppose they are missing a lot.
>>
>>25953898

I thought that AdEva wasn't marrying itself to Rebuild, since Rebuild isn't over yet and nothing about it has been given any explanation or anything?
>>
>>25953809
So The Scientists start talking, apparently the whole "Pilots are disposable" thing was an excuse fed to his Guard's Commander to keep him in line. He was trying to phase pilots out entirely, make artificial monsters to fight real ones. He was crazy, paranoid, and using threats against the scientists families and his guards (apparently recruited for their criminal tendencies and unquestioning loyalty) made physical and emotional abuse of the scientists a viable tactic to force the scientists to produce results.

He was making artificial Cores in the hopes of producing controllable Angels and Artificial Kaiju. Saw Head and Robo Crab being his pet projects made from materials taken from dead Kaiju and Angels as well as Surplus Eva Materials, thus the lack of Evas and actual Pilots and Wantanabe's odd behaviour.

Apparently he'd wanted to see if he could use The Drift to make his monsters stronger and only J-Project pilots are exposed to the Drift over a long period of time, he couldn't pass up the opportuinty.

Unfortunetaly for him all J-Project militaries are heavily trained in multiple forms of martial arts and usually trained in the use of conventional weapons on top of their piloting training,

Now by this time Unit 047 and Leo Shining had forced their respective opponents into the outskirts. Saw Head's saws were kind of useless against Leo Shining's armor, but he had his own AT field thanks to his Artificial core. This forced Leo Shining to be careful with its attacks since its pilots took San Damage every time their rolls failed. Still the Robo Kaiju AT fields were flawed, and kind of weak in comparison to an Angel's AT field so it wasn't quite that bad.

Unit 047 meanwhile was having a little trouble with Robo-Crab, she could overcome its AT Field easily enough buts armor was very hard for her to penetrate with her rifle, and standard pistols wouldn't do the job either.
>>
>>25953927
...an electromagnetic crossbow need more explanation?

Besides, they leave out other shit, and sort of built the classes far more narrowly.
>>
>>25953927
And Rebuild got stretched into a four part series so far, while the AdEva devs haven't had a problem adding their own crap to the game.

"It isn't over yet" isn't a good reason not to add in elements that, y'know, DON'T require knowing the ending to understand. A lot of the weapons and shit are one offs in Rebuild, anyway.

I honestly can't wrap my head around that logic. "Let's add a bunch of random stuff we think up, but oh no! We can't use a canon movie, it's sacred!"

So around this time Flights of Jets begin hitting the battle field, they fly in, target one of the Kaiju and bombard him with missiles. Doesn't do much in the way of damage but every little bit helps, after each barrage they return to their carrier and load up on more missiles.

Solokov is entirely sick of this fight by now and decides to use one of the oldest battle tactics of all. Saw Head and Robo Crab don't fight like a team, so it may be possible to use them against one another. She tells Unit 047 and Leo Shining that they should try just that.

Leo Shining aknowledges and starts moving into position. Leo Shining lumbers into position behind Robo-Crab and starts peppering Saw-Head with lasers, when saw head tries to slice open Leo's head the Jaeger dodges and grapples its arm with its vice Gauntlets, then it initates a Death Roll. The Gauntlets spin 360 degrees and tear the Kaiju's arm in half. This really pisses it off.

Unit 047 is more than happy to try something new, aside from blasting off Robo Crabs smaller limbs she hasn't accomplished much so she moves into position and goads the crab into charging her.

Saw Head Meanwhile lowers its head and tries charging Leo Shining. Leo dodges to the side, grapples with Saw head and forces its head town and starts running with the creature.

Saw Head can't stop, and Robo Crab doesn't see in coming until it's too late. Unit 047 dodges to the side just as Saw Head's enormous saw slams into Robo Crab's shell and starts tearing it open.

Saw Head tries to pull out but Unit 047 grapples with it as well and forces iit to saw right through Robocrabs vitals.

So Robo crab gets saw ed almost in half, its vitals are exposed, and purplish Cyborg Kaiju blood is fucking everywhere. Around this time the jets come in and Leo and 047 pull back so they can get in another barrage. This barrage manages to land a few tank buster rounds on Robo-Crab's core and the creature dies.

This just leaves Saw Head, who is pissed and intent on killing Leo Shining for destroying its arm

Only now, its out numbered, and Leo was always meant to be a brawler. Leo closes the distance and grapples with Saw Head, one by one she grapples the Robo Kaiju's arms and lets 047 blow those arms to hell with its rifle at point blank range and then all they're left with is the head.

Leo puts Saw head in a head lock and lets 047 put a couple dozen rounds in its braincase.

The Robo Kaiju are defeated, Wantanabe, his guards, and his scientists are rounded up for interrogation and more than a few of them are put on trial for war crimes, Wantanabe is publicly executed for his crimes against humanity/ Tokyo Steadfast becomes Tokyo Shatterdome with Solokov as the Marshall.

Stone and Okada go on to pilot the first Jaeger modified with Eva tech.

Braun goes on to be the first Eva pilot involved in piloting an Eve with a Dual plug system.

and the war with the Angels and Kaijus continues.

Story time over, I hope you enjoyed it.

Oh lucky, this threads still alive. Just finished a session about 15 minutes ago.

It started off poorly. None of the pilots could hit or damage the angel. And I could not roll damage for the life of me. There were no damage hits from a Remiel tier laser.

And then the mists cleared. Berserker takes his Prog knife to the Angel's leg, 2 hits takes it from full health to flying 140 meters away.

The Angel doesn't take this well. Next round it pushes itself up off the ground and lasers him in the leg. 0 wounds to 12 critical, just like that.

After multiple synch disruptions he's up over 100 SR and more importantly, totally fucking Berserked (first time so far). The Bereserk cancels his newly acquired stun and he the angel in the body pounding it into the modest criticals.

Then the AT Tech swings in with a sword putting it over 10 critical to the body. It's disabled and defenseless. The groups new character (Another Berserker) spends the rest of the round poking it in the core for minor damage.

This was supposed to be the hardest part of the fight and they've just waltzed through it.

As I recall it the AT Field was described as the only thing seperating human minds from one another.

If you try to pilot a Jaeger on your own the thing basically causes you to have a fatal siezure, thus the two pilot system where people share the computing power of their brains to ruin the machine.

As a side effect they develop telepathy of sorts (see the prequel comic and the doctor mentioning sharing a dream with her fellow pilot) they need to be compatable for a relationship since The Drift will share experiences and thoughts between the pilots.

Concievably the Drift erodes AT fields to one degree or another, or Nueral linking creates a combined AT Field more powerful that what humans normally generate.

So in this case Rangers would attempt to strike the enemy angel, and their intent to damage the angel would automatically be carried out via intuition (we'll assume that after linking their minds offensive use of the AT fiel to kill angels becomes instinctual, but without special equipment they can't use it defensively, and the attack effect only works on creatures that use defensive AT Fields.) thus allowing Jaegers to combat Angels on roughly the same level as Evas.

That's my two bits anyway.
>>
>>25965462
Wouldn't an anti-A.T. field result in the pilots turning into tang? Honestly sounds more like they found a way to merge their A.T. fields into a stronger one... Might explain how the Jaegers can more without collapsing under their own weight, without running on Angel physics.

I....

That's an excellent goddamn point.

The Pilots go into seizures because their AT Field can't handle the Jaeger.

Two Pilots fuse their AT Field by creating a WiFi hook up in their brain creating a strong enough AT Field to both rienforce the Jaeger and defend against the more esoteric angel attacks.

You're pretty baller anon.
