“Good morning Linda...” You say. You’re already awake, been reading some things about earth magic and geomancy since Stacy apparently has Earth control. “Hm... I wonder why Langy never turned this place into a Keep.”

“...I’m not actually sure milady. The Langy family certainly had the time and should’ve had the resources to do.” Linda replies by laying down your food next to you.

“Hm... Curious indeed...” you say as you put a bookmark in your book and turn to your breakfast.

“Do you have any plans for today milady?” Linda asks you.

“Hm...” you think to yourself as you sip your morning coffee. You certainly have some free time available to you now. Seeing how the twins are doing today is one possibility, or maybe some training on your own accord could be useful too. ...You’ve yet to also tell Ada what your ‘official’ capabilities as the Royal Mage are. Or at least the abilities you want the court to know.

“M-Milady! Your tea!” Linda cries out.

“Hm?” you ask before you feel it. You look down just in time to feel a stinging sensation between your breasts. While lose in throught you accidently poured some tea down in between your breasts. The hot liquid isn’t nearly as hot it would normally be thanks to your water control, but it does make a small stinging sensation.

“Oh crap!” you say quickly grabbing a hankerchief and stuffing it down in between your breasts.

Not to self, pay attention when drinking tea.

We're already here and drinking tea with Linda. So ask how her reading has gone, if she has any academic questions to ask, that sort of thing.

After that we can look into doing other stuff. Checking on the twins, making sure they're well fed.

Tasking our minions with dealing with bandits and bringing them to the Queens possibly, it'd mean we wouldn't have to deal with it and let us get Amanda's transformation paid for.

Allies, minions, whatever. It's a lot easier to send out the Warlord, Rogue, and Mage out to herd Bandits to the Queens than it is to do it ourself. They can handle it, if they need backup SeaBass can go with them.

Not really sure weither we should be obvious about this. We already tampered with their memories to hide the fact of who we are, no need to do it more.

Not sure how much we can get from Perform, talked with Sandact about it in IRC and he said that short-term, Perform would generate less, but long-term, Perform was the winner (because Bandits obviously take a lot more time to regenerate).

Secondly, keeping quiet might be a good idea with the Pride Demon inspectors coming.

I agree on using Perform for our own Aether, the problem with using it to feed the Queens is that we need to fill up on Perform, head to the Queens, drop all of the Aether we can off, and rinse and repeat. We can't store enough to make a big dent currently so if we want to get enough for a transformation the most practical way is to throw a pile of bandits at them.

Oh I wasn't suggesting we overtly use them as minions. It's better for us if they can't be directly connected to us anyway. I just wanted to point out that when you say "allies" I don't think of them. Ever. Might be lack of screen time. Might be their seeming lack of an independent agenda. Either way I think we all agree that they work, at the moment, exclusively for us.

I think I'll make a little correction to what I said. Sucking humans until they're nearly exhausted by direct draining could work wonders (Indeed this is how Mina often feeds), but if you don't want to make out with anyone then perform works great as well.

By "bandits regenerate", I thought it meant, "Suck out all aether."

You shapeshift yourself to have some irritated tissue where you split your tea, but even then it is only a fraction of the irritation you feel on the inside for spelling good tea.

“Are you alright milady!?” Linda asks rushing over to you.

“Yes... Yes I’m fine but probably in some need of some new clothing...” you say giving a small stretch in the front to try and look down below.

“I’ll get you some fresh clothes right away milady!” Linda replies heading over to your clothes dresser.

“Thank you Linda. I think I’ll change before finishing breakfast as well.” you say as you head over to behind the changing curtain and begin to disrobe. “So Linda, did you read the assigned things I gave you?”

“Not as much as I’d like to. Apologies milady. However I did read up some details on geomatic engineering. I finished the basic history of it last night and only the beginning of it’s mechanics.” Linda says.

“Good choice. Geoengineering is one of the only things mortals can usually learn about getting into trouble or without too many strings attached.” you reply as you put your dirty clothing over the changing curtain.

“I’m more amazed that Earth didn’t have Geo Engineering back in the Old World.” Linda replies as she puts fresh clothing over the top of the curtain.

“It technically did, but it was regarded as superstition and did not have any serious research at all. Old World had things such as Cold Fusion Generators which solved their power problem. It allowed them to be a bit more mobile than the Demonic forces who tried to invade.” you reply to Linda.

“Yes, but a base that provides power and facilities as part of the base structure is surely worth it yes?” Linda asks.

“Considering the Aether buildup that could result in the laylines if the Keep is improperly treated... Well it could be bad.” you reply to Linda as you step out behind the curtain in new clothing. “Let’s just say both methods had pros and cons. I’m glad you did manage to read up on some material.”

“Your praise is wonderful milady.” Linda says with a small blush as she puts your dirty clothing into a basket.

“...Oh... They have Earl Grey back in...” you say leaning against the glass, your mouth salivating at the mention of that tea. Not that you don’t mind local herbal tea but... it literally tastes like wood more than tea.

“Oh! Lady Brooklyn! What a pleasant surprise!” An unfamiliar voice calls out next to you.

You look over to the side of you, noticing a somewhat short, but very well built woman with red hair and freckles. The blindfold around her eyes makes it somewhat obvious of who it is.

“Well during my training there have been some... complications with the bandit population.” Erika says. “First is that one of them is getting ready to move, frightened for their lives by the ‘Black Flame Hunter’.” Erika says.

I don't think so but i think i should probably tone it down a lot. I don't want that to happen and it would be foolish to not believe something like that can happen. Also should lay low for a while having time to think rationally about this i have attracted way to much attention.

Frankly these past few weeks i have been going from crisis to mini crisis so much i have had so little time left for myself.

No. I occasionally snack on a bandit when I'm out and hunting them, but I'm very careful not to drain completely from any other type of person, I rarely even drain anything from most people, most of my diet is emotion in bars, parks, and that sort of thing. I go after bandits because they're an easy way to transport Aether to the Queens, it keeps moral quandaries to a minimum, and no one will really miss them. My main source of feeding is heading to bars and feeding on the ambient emotions.

Truth be told I dislike the idea of rushing your sister in this. I disliked doing it to you, and only did so quickly to help you fight Fate. I'll need to talk to her about what becoming a succubus means, give her as much information as I can, and answer her questions for her. But the final decision must be hers. I cannot coerce her.

Erika speaks something under the water, but only comes out as garbled bubbles.

So you begin to discuss in detail of your plan. First you make a master Keep at the North Pole with a deluxe automatic workship, one of the kinds that some Adventurer clans spent generations finding one working at 50% capacity. You then get a bunch of Miyians to overlook a team of bound spirits who will toil endlessly to make toys. A dedicated team of psychics and scryers will constantly scan the world for good boys and girls. Then when Christmas comes, the miracles of Time magic and Space magic will make delivering presents all over the world in one night a breeze!

“...And you’re worried about ME becoming mad!?!?” Amanda says with shock after hearing such a plan.

“THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A CHILDHOOD HERO OF MY DIES!” you immediately refute. “...Oh yes. Speaking of things worse than death, be sure to train up your mental defenses! The Pride Demon investigators will be coming, so remember that you need to be careful for their powerful mental attacks. Oh! And gloves! They’ll most likely be able to detect aether by touch at least!”

“Or just avoid any contact with them outright.” Amanda replies.

“...That’s a good point. The castle is big enough so that she’d probably need to see them directly.” Erika replies.

Though fiercely protective of her sister, Leona will probably need a good cover story. Given that Leona appears to be an adult, it will be... difficult for Ada to substitute herself in. Mina is just as rotten at lying herself. There appear to be a few solutions that you can brainstorm. First is substitute either you, Amanda, or Erika in. Erika is a bit risky as while she knows Leona the most, Sebastien will be angry if she spoils her training again. She could just plain ignore them, but that’d be difficult if she’s summoned. Perhaps if she’s away on a trip? The last is to give her a story that is technically a half-truth, but that is incredibly risky. Or maybe Ada can implant false memories into Leona so that what she tells is actually the truth?

"Various combat magics, the specifics of which are classified and known to <ada's cover name>". And then list a few magicks we are willing to perform to keep nobles entertained.
I am thinking long range messaging (via imp, later via space control), the mortal version of loom of fate scrying spell, and healing once we learn some.
Also, our unusually fast learning capacity can be hidden by "revealing" more of our "secret" abilities later on.
We could also go around the nobles and ASK if there are some particular magics they would find useful/want a court mage to have.

I propose that the reason that Aetheric Blindsight costs no aether while physically blinded is because it costs a small flow of aether to run the body's individual functions. Since she is blind, her body does not spend aether running the "optical" functions, and instead redirects that aether to her blindsight, causing a net zero in cost.

If this is true, then we could maybe think about redirecting energies from certain bodily functions at will, like using what is usually our sight aether while asleep to fund a low-power detection spell or something.

The mercenaries at the camps back home could probably say they bandits have been vanishing and they may take note of it, but seeing as how bandits and barbarians move in and out all the time, they may just discount it as them moving away.” Erika says. “They’ll probably take notice of the bandits missing, but how much weight they’ll assign to it is up to the person investigating I guess. ...And can we please move to an inside location if we keep talking? This armour is warm but it doesn’t mean I like being outside in the middle of a Fort Hope blizzard.”

Just some... terrorizing bits of them should spook them right into where we need to be.” Erika says as she stands up and dusts herself off. “The blizzard should be able to let us approach the camps. I’ll stand by and try and cut down any sort of straggler that makes it out of your grasp.”

“Any suggests on how I should handle the bandits?” you ask.

“You were creative when you killed my uncle didn’t you? Just be... a little creative again.” Erika says with a small smile. “Now come on, I’ll show you to the first camp.”

After a small trip through the blizzardy like town, Erika shows you to the next bandit camp. Indeed it is quite clear they’re getting ready to move, as many rugged backpacks can be seen laying on the floor while the smells of meat cooking can be smelled wafting through the tents even overlooking them from the fifth floor of a building. No one appears to be in the court yard, everyone gathering strength for the move.

“Can you seem them?” Erika asks you.

“Yea. Five guards posted on the outside. They appear to be spooked.” you say.

“The rest of them are inside. They keep stationed guards to a minimal.” Erika replies.

“None of them in the buildings?” you ask.

“They claim the buildings are full of angry spirits. Whenever they enter them, they run the risk of the ‘big red eyed angry spirit’ exacting retribution on them.” Erika replies.

“Ah... Sebastien...” you reply as you continue to look down.

Then I suggest we start figuring out how to learn that after we've brought our Light Control up to par with our Darkness Control.

Being able to make aetheric illusions would be very useful, and can probably be combined with hiding our aura to make ourself look like something else.
If we get good enough, we might even be able to imitate a Pride Demon's aura, which would be -incredibly- useful.

That's for later, though. For now, I suggest we get crackin' on those bandits.

"Well, they're scared of the Shadows, so lets use that, possibly with some Solidgrams to enhance the shadows." you say as you get up prepare to walk down to the the bandit camp.

Heading down to the floor above the camp, you make a shadow a bit darker just in case someone manages to see you. Putting everything you’ve got into the darkness bit, you begin to cast a dark shadow out over their base. The tower guards look a bit frightened at first with the sudden darkness coming up over the base, inching bit by bit until it blankets the base completely.

Warriors from the base come out in spades, holding their axes as they look around in fear, the blustery night suddenly coming in at around noon making things seem incredibly unnerving, far faster and more unnatural than any mere eclipse they may have heard in their lore.

It is then you decide to conjure up a soligram copy of your darkness form, slowly by slowly and bit by bit heading towards the base. The shape of a thousand unblinking red eyes gazing in every direction at once yet seemingly all focused on those who gaze upon your form. The crunching of snow being heard as the only noise as it approaches the camp.

It doesn’t take long for the first spotters to take notice of your darkness form, crying out in some sort of barbarian tongue as it launches an arrow at your darkness copy, you quickly bending the shape to make it seem like the arrow just seemingly *vanished* as it hit the figure. You can only respond by summoning a tentacle of darkness to lunge out and rip the man from the tower, hurling towards the ground where he lands with a cry as his legs break. As he tries to get back up, he is only greeted by the thousand hungry maws of your pet darkness tentacles. Your darkness form strides past as the darkness tentacles begin to feast on the poor man, ripping him to shreds as his screams rip through the air.

The other tower guard looks on in horror and fear, jumping down from his post and screaming out things to the camp below. The spicy feeling of fear flows into your mouth as dozens of people below begin to run around like headless chickens. They try to escape from the base, but find out that each position is blocked by a wall of darkness. Men crying, pleading for their lives as they pound on the darkness walls as your darkness form slowly heads towards them, seeming to effortlessly and brutally murder the very select few that do manage to escape your grasp.

The horror seems more like a showpiece more than anything else, and it doesn’t take long before most of the hardcore, warrior bandits are now crying and bowing in front of your darkness form, even the chieftain himself. There are certainly enough men to the Queen’s, but you do wonder for a brief moment for how the women and children are going to fare for themselves. ...Well not because there will be no more bandits hunting them, as when you’re done there will not be many left, but if Leona finds out you did anything bad to noncombatants... well to say she’d take it badly would be an understatement.

From there, we need to separate the non-combatants from the combatants, we need to convince the non-combatants that this is not the best place to live anymore, and certainly not the best way. Finally, we need to herd the combatants to the queens.

After this, you envelop yourself into your own darkness form, carefully using tentacles lowering yourself down to the ground while becoming a being of nightmares once more. More people begin to cry out as they see your unholy form stride forth into the camp. A few crying mothers attempting to comfort their children as they cry out, fearing any sort of retribution from you.

“Can any amongst you speak English?” you ask the group.

“I-I-I c-can B-Black Flame Huntress...” one member of the group cries out in what could barely be considered a small whimper.

“Then relay this to the rest of your tribe.” you say as the soligrams you made of fighting men vanish, showing bound and gagged men that were hiding below the darkness itself. “You who think you can rule by strength, know that there are always those stronger than you. You who think you can take without consequence, know that all debts shall be paid in full. You who think you can just pray on the weak, know that Justice has come. You women and children shall be spared, but those who made their life out of human misery, know that your time has finally come. Follow me. If you dare deviate from this path, then I shall return to these grounds once more and not only make you suffer a fate worse than whatever hell you believe in, but I shall personally do the same to your family as well.”

Of course you’d never do such a thing actually, but instilling as much fear as possible is making a fairly good meal right now before you give them over to the Queen’s.

The men then follow you back to the Shrine without any sort of trouble, though lots of crying and begging to either you or their ancestors can be heard. It doesn’t take much trouble at the shrine either. Just a quick shadowspike graveyard while leaving one behind for yourself to top off. Even Erika admits that she was rather frightened by your performance.

The next bandit camp goes roughly the same way as the first. This one appeared to be staying for the long haul, and a few of the men you DID need to put down at Erika’s urging as they kept trying to rally the rest of the barbarians in the camp. A bit of a waste, but you trust Erika’s advice in this.

After scrapping the last of the second base, both you and Erika are now in the break room of the shrine building, both of you eating an old world chocolate bar non-chalantly while covered in some of the blood of the bandits.

“I didn’t think they’d splatter that much.” you say while taking a bite of the chocolate bar.

“...Please don’t ever tell Leona this step of becoming a Succubi.” Erika then asks you while taking a bite out of her levitating chocolate bar. "...And is that it for the day? I'd so like to go back to Amanda's hot tub and fall asleep for... a week preferably..."

I frankly don't like doing stuff like this but I am at least making the area safer for people who don't prey upon the misery of others.

I was thinking at some point at working to make a magical keep to collect aether but that is a long way off.

OOC An idea of wondering could we make power conduits, i mean lay lines underground and rout them to the secrete bunker underneath fort hope? problem is that the bunker could go crazy if lay lines where messed with. maybe we could make a fail safe spell that would quickly dispel the entire thing so that it would not explode.

After a long trip back to Fort Hope, the sun is beginning to set after a day of bandit hunting. Luckily Amanda had one of Erika’s books left around, and reacts more with shock about how you plan to read it to her. Leona it happy that you’re doing it for her, but the contents... well she’s happy you’re reading it to her.

You begin to read the book and put on a small lightshow for Erika during the process and... wow... This... This is bad. You thought they didn’t write things this sappy. You’re not sure whenever it was around the time a man named Macro rises from the water with immaculate detail discussing his wet body or how a woman recalls a passionate night with her lover, only to discover that it was actually his evil twin.

While you’re in sheer disbelief at how corny it is, Erika more than a few times makes small gasp, swoons, and even tears.

Women... Women don’t actually read this right? You pray to god that most women don’t read stuff like this and hope Erika is just in a small niche camp.

After reading the book and Erika taking a small nap (while in the hot tub), you step out into the hallway.

“So now that you’re done with Erika... Does that mean the ritual to transform us is all ready!?” Amanda says, hardly able to hide her glee.

Glacing out of a window at the end of the hall, you can see that the blizzard has died down a bit, but the weather is still a rather harsh sort of wind outside.

EXELIXI (Repairing things) + AUTOMATA (Automation and Intelligent)

They make the most sense, all things considered. EXELIXI because seeing how something should be is often easier than seeing how to make it in the first place.

AUTOMATA because she just witnessed a giant robot fight and there is a heavily automated bunker for her to study.

The fact that these two abilities are two of the ones that seem most useful for fixing trashed giant fighting robots is unrelated to anything else.

I think we should avoid a repeat of the slip up we had with the twins. This means doing the transformation early in the morning so we have a full day to go feed on ambient energy and get some basic education in before we seperate. And honestly, we should have the first night as a succubus be spent in our room as a "slumber party" (no need for it to _necessarily_ be a sexy one).

I recommend Katastrofi (destruction and weaponry) and Automata (getting an Automata factory put together will seriously transform the town. We become the biggest industrial base in the country overnight.)

I'll type up an update until the thread dies. I'll take a small break, then later tonight we'll continue it, since my Saturday morning is somewhat free so far.

After a few hours of Erika just plain relaxing in the hot tub, you all get ready to set off again. Both Leona and Amanda pack up in upon layers and layers of clothing in preparation for the trek towards the shrine. While the fear of bandits is gone, everyone who lives up here knows the real killer is the weather. Come blizzards, no one goes outside and does anything wide scale. Only a small hop across town is usually all that people usually go for, as anything more usually becomes more dangerous than anything else. Both you and and Erika are constantly next to Leona and Amanda, navigating them across the dangerous frozen wastes.

“Oh my word! I am so glad to be out of that hellish landscape!” Amanda says removing her snow covered scarf and shaking it off.

“Maybe it would’ve been better to wait until morning if the weather was going to be like this. If we had to go any further I don’t think I could’ve made it.” Leona says removing her own scarf. “...Are you sure the bandits in this area are gone?”

“The bandits rarely come out this far anyways. They consider the buildings haunted, so we’ll be fine inside.” Erika says.

“Pfft! Such silly, superstitious nonsense they believe in!” Amanda says walking into the building, you can tell she’s absolutely giddy. “So where is this ritual room located too!?”

You make a small grin as you remember the ‘hazing’ ritual of the surprise. “Something like that yes...”

“What do you mean Lady Sara?” Leona asks.

“It’s... difficult to explain. It has to be experienced, as it is hard to talk about.” Erika replies. “When I woke up I was aching in certain places...”

“Aches?” Leona asks blinking.

“How can a room be hard to explain?” Amanda asks.

“...You’ll see. For now just stay close to Erika and I. The next part has lots of trip over and we don’t want you getting hurt.” you say spawning a weak light orb as you begin to head down the stairs towards the shrine room.

You carefully bring Amanda and Leona through the construction zone. While Leona needs near constant encouragement from Erika, Amanda needs what could be considered a leash more than anything else.

After you cautiously make your way down to the shrine area, trying to be a bit more careful about the position you land in so that you don’t wake up with a sore back or worse.

“What the!?” you say waving your arms out in protest from the fluffy onslaught, only to wake up to see that both you and the girls are currently on a very large bed, capable of holding virtually all of the Queen’s and you. All of the Queen’s are wearing pajama’s as they look at you.
