(Currently doesn't list Black Earl - dropship.)

You were a ghost operative of the Terran Dominion, under Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. Your Codename is Delta Phoenix. You received a transmission from Korhal. "The Emperor is Dead. Long live the Emperor. "

It seems like a lifetime since the fall of Korhal disabled your neural inhibitor and you went rogue. With the help of a rogue Dominion Marine, Jacob Henderson, you and your small crew secured a Gorgon-Class battlecruiser you now call The Daluke. The Dominion, bounty hunters, and criminal scum alike are all after you with a massive 1.5 billion credit bounty on your head. But they're going to have to earn it, first.

You are currently aboard The Daluke in orbit over Kilaro. You crushed the Dominion's security base and sent them running. The Rebellion hails you as a hero for your sacrifice, as you charged the enemy siege tank lines in a stolen viking walker.

Although you nearly died and lost your suit, you discovered a Dominion experiment at the planet's primary research installation. You had your engineer undertake a risky experimental procedure to improve your skills.

He's requested your presence at Main engineering. Hoping for good news, you start walking from the bridge...

The door slides open. Engineering seems to have a good deal of crew now, but it's so large and so many consoles still remain unfilled. You have a long way to go. You step into the next room, tables with robotic arms hang over them. At the center-most table you see the silhouette of your suit under transparent plexiglass. Mac has some goggles on, and is currently typing away at a console. He doesn't notice you for several seconds, and you clear your throat. Your chief engineer stands up immediately and begins talking with all the speed of a madman. and pacing the suit's table excitedly.

>"Sir! Your suit, lots of damage - But! - Nothing we couldn't fix with what we had on board. I took some of the schematics for the Adjutant's processor heat coils and replaced it with a psi-sensitive plastic I was able to reverse-engineer from damaged suit 'muscles', if you will. The end result is much better - in my humble opinion. And the stealth reactor? Had a few redundancies. I took a look at our Banshee's stealth reactor - simple thing, really, just a few repeat cross-dampeners that interface with the main power. Using psi-sensitive materials I was able to repeat the process using psionics as an energy source instead of the Banshee's reactor, and, well.. Let's just say you don't want to let the suit into Dominion hands with -this- technology, right boss? Oh, and then the HUD. It was pretty simplistic. Honestly I'm kind of insulted the Dominion gave someone with your skills sensors -that- useless. Infrared and a x2 zoom? Basically a CMC suite."

>"They were probably afraid I'd go rogue."

Mac stops in his tracks. Dumbfounded.

>"Really smart, why didn't I think of that... Anyway. so I took a look at our Goliath schematics, took a few pointers from our sensor tower Schematics, and presto: Infrared, EM field, Biometric scanners, Radar filters, Psionic registries. The problem is I had to connect all of it to your suit's primary processor, can't figure out what it was for."

So you won't be able to use your Adjutant without that processor, but she's on the Daluke now and you can access her anyway. Not a problem from the sounds of things.

>"Thank you, Mac. You can get back to work. I'll take it from here."
>"Sure thing, Sir. I was going to take a look at our systems, see what I can improve on the ship."

The man leaves with a brisk salute, it seems the resoc process also cured a good deal of his awkwardness. You press the open button on the console and view your suit for the first time.

The suit's like new, more defined with increased psionic muscles, and painted purple. More sensors decorate the front. You immediately disconnect it and put it on.

((3 people voted, we're re-voting even though I don't expect a different decision.))

Starmap loaded. Additional options have become available. Unnecessary or dangerous locations have been removed.

>Jungle World XTYU003: Edge of Protoss space. Ruins on planet, inhabited by friendly Protoss Dark Templar Kassix.

>Volcanic World HA002: Old Zerg hive world. Nuked out years ago during the Brood Wars. Heavy in minerals, vespene gas, and geothermal energy.

>Forest World NN014 "New Ares": Small colony in operation, mostly agriculture. Close to heavy shipping lanes.

>Urban World Kilaro: Completely urban landscape. In complete riots and chaos following the near-fall of the dominion. Food, medicine, and weapons are all in short supply with next to no security force policing smugglers.

>Nohallan: Fringe Ice Planet. Hostile Wildlife and climate. Well outside of Dominion space.

>Barren World JZ01919: No atmosphere, high in inorganic salts and rare compounds. Mining platform station "Dick's Paradise" in orbit.

>Murric: Continental Fringe World. Provides 92% of Agriculture for nearby systems. Fiercely independent anti-Dominion population.

>Corendis: Jungle World, known for heavy Safari activity. Low in minerals, high in vespene gas.

>New Albuquerque: Fringe Desert Planet. Civilian Shipbuilding industry. Low in minerals and vespene gas.

>Station 114: Fringe territory observation post. Previously Confederate, now occupied by ex-Confederate mercenaries.

Begin achieving consensus, voting will begin when ready.

I say we go to Volcanic World HA002

We need the resources to build a even bigger armada. Besides imagine all the abandoned outposts and relics they have on there
>>
>>25879121
I seem to recall someone expresing concerns about vespene gas, and jumping over there. In addition to that the templar might not like a cruiser hanging above his nexus- last time he tolerated us because we weren't a threat. What would our specific goal for traveling there be?
>>
>>25879125
It appears as though our Umojan contact has gone dark at this time.

>>25879156
We do not have access to starport schematics at this time.
>>
>>25879173

Soooo what happens when we jump there with a huge ass fucking Dominion battleship with semi-remnants of Zerg biomass in it straight into Protoss space?

>>
>>25879173
training our new guys. practicing with the drop pods. And learning from DT.
>>
>>25879102
Okay, the ones I would be interested in, Jungle World XTYU003, we can chat with Kassix again, he might be able to teach us things. But he may consider us bringing the Daluke above his house a serious threat and not be happy with us.

Personally I'd go to the Barren World, it lets us get interesting resources, and Dick's Paradise ought to be fun.

Or Station 114, perhaps we could pick up more crew there.
>>
>>25879189
>>25879192
So there's a good chance we might go there and just be flat-out refused assistance, or even attacked. We /do/ probably have some small zerg signs on our ship yet. And he might take offense regardless at a massive xboxhueg ship appearing.

The idea of a DT being a shrink for us is hilarious, but still.

>>25879156
I would be okay with this.
>>
>>25879189
To be honest I think the dark templar wouldn't teach us anything. They think of humans with Psionic as children with guns.
>>
>>25879203
if we go their we will scan to make sure no new people are their then we land with mainly just DP and maybe some guards like 2-4 people tops

>1 Jungle World XTYU003: Edge of Protoss space. Ruins on planet, inhabited by friendly Protoss Dark Templar Kassix.

You head to the Bridge and issue the order to your XO. Your ship disconnects from the trade port, and aims for the darkness of space.

>"All stations warp on my mark..."
>"Mark!"

The stars zoom past in streaks, replaced soon by the jungle world in front of the blue sun.

>"I am detecting a signal on all frequencies, sir. Patching it through."

The main screen is replaced by the face of Kassix.

>"I knew you would return when you knew your purpose, Ghost."

The signal ends. The XO looks to you.

Your SCV crew is detaching the fuel line from the Dropship, the Black Earl. You board it alone.

>"Coming up over drop zone, sir. Prep for insertion."

You stand over the launch tube and grip your handlebar overhead. You feel a small tinge of apprehension as you remember your training on Korhal...

Upon hearing that there was a Viking, a notoriously difficult craft taht often kills its pilots, that we told that it wasn't known if we could fly it, and that there was a perfectly good escape route that didn't involve having to touch it, people decided to hijack it, realize we couldn't fly it, and charged a siege tank line with it.

You wake in darkness. Someone is screaming at you.

>"OUT OF BED! GO! NOW! MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT!"

You hop to your feet quietly and try to keep your expression blank. Any expression at all and you'll be hit. Any sound at all and you'll be hit. You hate this place but there's nothing you can do. You stand at your designated spot, in a lineup with other children standing at attention. Girls, boys, all of them other ghosts. When you first came here you could read their minds, but the surgery changed all that. You don't remember your name. You don't remember your age. You don't remember anything except... Delta Phoenix.

A guard stands in front of each child. Their minds are all fuzzy. They don't know where they are. Some of them scream and cry from inside their own minds. You feel sorry for them. You feel like you are them...

>"Marines! Sideaaaaaarms. Hut!"
The man points his gun at you.

>"Cadets! These sidearms are loaded! When I give the order these men will paint the floor with your brains. It is your challenge to disarm the marine and paint the floor with -his- brains. I do not care who wins or loses as long as my floor is nice and pretty."

The instructor stops pacing behind you and moves to one side. He smiles. You hate him more than anything else you have ever known.

>"Fire."

The launch tube opens, you hurtle to the ground and land on your feet, kneeling down. You hear the subtle hum of Pylons. The Nexus stands before you, it's massive doors open. You step inside. At the center stands Kassix. While he previously only wore a loincloth, there are now Hydralisk shoulderplates covering his shoulders, and a zergling lower jaw covers his own. He appears to be armed with some sort of psionic double-scythe weapon.

>"I see you have learned from your greed, Rising Phoenix. You fear to put your men at risk, even here. Though it is sometimes necessary, you have proven your constraint. Something you will need."

He takes a combat stance.

>"Hit me, Rising Phoenix. With whatever you can. However you can."

His psionics are on a scale you can't yet imagine. You don't know his motives or if he will kill you if he can.

>Try and shoot him.

>>25880457
That's flawed logic. You have to keep a balance otherwise you get Tin Pot GMs and it's a fair point that if you kill the main character straight up, the players will go and find something else to do. All it does is add an unsatisfying end to a story that is otherwise mildly enjoyable.

You strafe to the left and bring your C-20-A to bear on the Templar. He runs in a serpentine pattern, his weapon held back in one hand, the other held forward as the bullets do nothing against his shields. He closes the distance and jumps seveal dozen feet into the air, sailing at you. You roll behind one pillar and reload your rifle. Damn, he's fast...

>"I can smell your fear, Rising Phoenix. Like a child lost at war..."

You turn around the pillar and step out slowly into the open. Your Psionic readers detect nothing. Your infrared detects nothing. Your EM detects nothing.

>"Your fear overwhelms you. You believe your own death is imminent at the slightest misstep."

You hear something shuffle overhead, you duck and roll. The Templar lands where you were standing, his weapon imbedded in the ground. You take your shots while you can. He lifts up his cloak and shields himself, vanishing into black smoke. You keep stepping backwards, conserving your ammo until you can see him. A reload right now would be fatal...
>>
>>25880867
If we have an idea where he is a flash or sticky grenade would be very useful.

If we have Recluse Mines we can leave them behind us and punish him for closing the distance without proper care.

Something hits you hard in the back. You lose balance and fall forward. Your C-20-A goes spinning behind a pillar. Your combat knife shoots out from under your palm. Kassix sails at you from overhead. You grab his weapon with one hand, and bring your cybernetic over to stab at him. He grabs it with one hand. The psi-scythe dangles dangerously close over your face. Part of you already knows the fight is over.

>"...-Because yours was taken, and you do not have one."

>"Aeons ago, before Terrans even sailed the stars, this world was sacred to my people. Hunting grounds, a rite of passage. Vicious and intelligent beasts stalked it's jungles. Until the Zerg came. Our was with them were mighty and we saved the planet at terrible cost. But the Zerg are a cancer. Even today, countless generations from their defeat, they still reproduce and stalk the shadows here. Today your rite of passage begins."

You come upon a circular monolith. It is embedded with countless protoss ruins, murals of dark templars fighting beasts, aliens, Zerg, and Terrans...

Kassix touches one of the murals. A Dark Templar fighting an Ultralisk.

>"Good luck, Rising Phoenix."

You head for the jungles, and ready your weapon. You hear the calls of various birds and beasts. Unaware of your location and with the Ultralisk not showing up on scans you climb a tree at the edge of a cliff and look out. Eventually you see several trees falling over in a path. You've spotted your quarry. You make for the disturbance quickly and discover your prey. It gored a much smaller native creature and seems completely oblivious to you. You take careful aim and fire your Irradiation Grenade. It basically shoots straight into the Ultralisk's ass. The Ultralisk roars in pain and begins to stampede towards you. You turn and swing from tree to tree, jumping and grabbing vines, branches, and whatever you can as it runs at you. Eventually you reach a river and are forced to stop. The ultralisk stampedes unknowingly into the water and gets taken downstream. Several chunks of it effectively rot off, and one of the smaller 'teeth' runs aground at the bank of the river. You pick it up and tie it to the stealth reactor on your chest. You make for Kassix's Nexus.

As you approach the cylindrical pillar you notice a new mural towards the top. A ghost shooting at an Ultralisk. It feels you slightly with pride.

Several Protoss step out of the shadows, Kassix foremost among them, they all have siilar psi-weapons and various trophies from Zerg carcasses or bits of Terran bones or weapons.

>"You have proven yourself to the tribe, Rising Phoenix. Remove your helmet."

You do so, after a moment's hesitation. Kassix reaches out a hand and draws a Protoss symbol on your cheek. You can feel it tingle slightly. The other Protoss keep one hand on their weapon as they kneel down. Kassix steps back.

>"Your training begins now in full, Rising Phoenix, Slayer of Parrasque. Allow us to return."

The other Protoss stand and disappear into the shadows. You walk with Kassix for several moments before entering the familiar Nexus. He takes you deep inside of it, to some sort of arena. Kassix speaks to you.

>"Try and hit me, Rising Phoenix. And this time... mean it."

You train for several days with the Dark Templar. Although honest, it is incredibly grueling. Your progress continues, however...

>"Patience, Rising Phoenix. Discipline."

You breathe slowly, unable to see with your suit's optical sensors disabled.

>"Begin!"

You seen the first zealot step forward. You raise your arm to deflect the blow, then punch out exactly as much as you need to make contact. The next two blows come at you from both right and left, overhand. You raise your palms up and catch the incoming blows. You twist in a circle, yank their training sticks free, and hit both of them at their rear of their inverted knees, knocking them to the ground.

4 Initiates approach you, one from each direction. You take your defensive stance and block incoming blows with your stolen weapons. You administer several blows to heads, extraneous limbs, and stomachs before you sense no more aggression.

>"That will do, initiates. You can return to your studies."
>"En Taro Tassadar."

You turn your optics on, as Kassix walks towards you.

>"You have trained well under us, Rising Phoenix. But it is time for you to leave us."
>"Leave you? But, Kassix-"
>"We must leave as well. Dark times loom over both of our races. We will meet again, but everyone must be prepared. And your people, in their ignorance, wage war against everything, even themselves."
>"I don't exactly have a lot of political power, Kassix."
>"I know this. But the actions of one person can determine the outcome of a war. One person can determine the lives of billions."

You realize the two of you have been walking to the exit of the Nexus for some time now.

>"This is not goodbye, Rising Phoenix. We will meet again."
>"Thank you, Kassix."

You step out of the Nexus. Your mentor bows his head as the Nexus doors close. The building slowly vanishes before your eyes.

You reach down and hold the Ultralisk tooth in your hand, ponderously.

>"Daluke, dispatch a shuttle for extraction. My coordinates."
>>
>>25882515
>You seen
You SENSE

((Proofreading all posts from this point on, fuck me.))

Several hours later you stand aboard the Daluke.

I am detecting 0% Protoss activity at this moment, Commander.

Engineer Mac has constructed an array of missile batteries onboard the Daluke, as well as repaired the Holographic Arcade.

Should I load the Starmap?
>>
>>25882542

>>

>>
>>25882542

we should probably swing by Murric to pick up the fruits of CAPITOLISM and check into that scientist we let helped
>>
>>25882542
Please do Adjutant.

Also, bring up details on what the crew did while we were out and about, check on morale.

For us, we should show off the Ultralisk tooth to Henderson, when asked how we did it don't say how, just say that we're just that good. Telling him the truth makes the story boring, making him come up with his own story at how we took out an Ultralisk, much more fun.
>>
>>25882542
Yes, Adjutant
>>
>>25882542
Could Mac upgrade our robot-arm?

Registry: Holographic Arcade.

The holographic arcade is an enclosed room in which objects and people are simulated by shaped force field onto which holographic images are projected. Multiple games, training simulations, and relaxation activities are available.
>>
>>25882606

I have received a report from Chief Engineer Guyver on the repairs. It is 502 pages long. I have uploaded it to your personal information tablet should you wish to read it, Commander.

>>25882590
Mac has been focused on repairs to the Daluke. I will present this to him as his next assignment.
>>
>>25882606
Note to self, obtain high score in every single target shooting simulation we can on the ship.

Offer a reward, a prize, something not too expensive, mainly for bragging rights, maybe a bottle of good booze as well, for anyone who beats that score. It'll encourage our crew to keep up practicing.
>>
>>25882634
This sort of training is highly recommended, Commander.
>>
>>25882634
This is a very good thing to know.

Crank up those starmaps, love.
>>
>>25882635
Yes, I wish to read it, all 502 pages.

I'm kidding. That'd be mean.

Did anyone other than Mac do anything of note while we were on the surface? Has the crew been getting along well? Should we talk to our XO about this instead of asking you?
>>
>>25882657

>Dominion Outpost "Yankee Station": Edge of Dominion space. Currently under-staffed shipyard.

Begin achieving consensus, voting will begin when ready.
>>
>>25882697
Lets go to Murric to resupply on minerals and gas as well as to check up on the scientists.
>>
>>25882697

New Albuquerque, we need more ships.

Might be good to stop by Murric to pick up our supplies and resource while we're at it.
>>
>>25882665
You read all 502 pages.
Mhm, mhm...
You know some of these words!

((Easy peasy.))

I have no other alerts at this time.

>>25882687
Doctor Nelhav retreated to Murric. We have had no contact since she was rescued.
>>
>>25882713
sounds like a good idea then maybe we can go to New Ares or New Albuquerque
>>
>>25882697

Time to go to HA002. need to do some extensive mining operations. also, might be some old abandoned bases we can loot for tech...
>>
>>25882697
I want to go back to kilaro just to get some more schematics, but i'm open to other suggestions
>>
>>25882697
We should stop by Murric to refuel and restock, preparing ourselves for the road ahead.

After that, we can head to New Albuquerque and get ourselves a real fleet.
>>
>>25882697
>Volcanic World HA002: Old Zerg hive world. Nuked out years ago during the Brood Wars. Heavy in minerals, vespene gas, and geothermal energy.
Let's gather some resources for now, something big is probably going to be coming later.
>>
>>25882697
Let's hit Murric, we could use a resupply, and I'm wondering what the Scientists and Dr. Nelhav have been up to.

We may also pick up a new batch of recruits which'll be nice.

After that, I'm not sure. Maybe Station 114 or Corendis.
>>
>>25882697
>Corendis: Jungle World, known for heavy Safari activity. Low in minerals, high in vespene gas.
Fleet needs gas. Crew needs some training activities.
>>
I vote for the Volcanic World HA002 for resources, relics, and financial gain then we get to Forest World NN014. No doubt they have a working starport to buy/build some starfighters and stuff then WE RAID THE SHIPPING LANES
>>
>>25882756
>>25882762
>>25882733

>>
>>25882762
we are mining and getting gas at Murric
>>
>>25882728
>Nelhav
>Vahlen

You sneaky bugger.

my vote is to swing by Murric, to check on our base, collects some profits and recruit us a scientist
>>
>>25882780
Then just for the training, we should go. Can't have a Supergreen crew rising their lives

Actually, Adjutant, can we send a message to Muric, tell them to buy/charter a Dropship and sned us resources?
>>
>>25882780

and they can continue the harvesting there for when we get our shit handed to us and need quick resources. Consider Murric our 'rainy day fund'...
>>
>>25882762
>Fleet needs gas

Hey you know what wold be good? if we had a base setup somewhere that was doing that for us while we went away

oh wait we do, its on Murric...
>>
>>25882816
We can dispatch one of our own dropships, Commander.
>>
>>25882728
We'll just go to Murric. She'll probably be working for some X-COM ripoff organization. If we recruit that...
>>
>>25882697
We can have the most impact on the politics of shit if we help the rioting planet.
Just my two cents though.
>>
>>25882805
Gah, if it's Vahlen, we might need protoss/zerg artifacts to entice her. A shame we got rid of all the zerg corpses aboard our ship, and killed the queen/infestor with a irradiation/hellfire grenade
