You are Christopher Phillips, previously just another teenage nerd living in a small English town, and despite all the ways your life has changed since you died yesterday, it seems that the universe still can't resist an opportunity to screw with you.

The last two days have been very interesting. You're still a little worried about your new smooth, pale, slightly cold skin (unless it's warmed by someone else's body heat), and the deep, steadily growing hungers coiling in the back of your mind. But on the other hand, you now seem to have an almost supernatural talent for talking to girls, to the point where a girl who would have been totally out of your league on Saturday was wrapped around your fingers a few hours ago.

Avril Dunway, the girl in question, is supposed to be coming to your house very shortly to pick up where you left off at lunchtime. Isabella Donaldson, your drop-dead gorgeous Biology partner, will be coming over later to finish your joint project. So of course your mother just had to remind you that tonight is the date of your little sister's school play.
>>
You know what the play will be. It's Bugsy Malone, as poorly performed by a bunch of primary school kids. It's the same play every year, and it's always awful. Worse, by the time you've driven over there, waited for the play to start, watched the whole thing, and come back, both Avril and Isabella will have come and gone.

Your mother is more enthusiastic than usual this year, though, because your sister is playing Blousey Brown. (She can't sing at all, but neither can any of the other girls in her year, so they just picked the girl who was slightly less likely to trip over her own feet halfway through the play.)

[]Text Avril and Isabella to apologise, and go get ready for the play.
[]Try to persuade your mother to let you stay home while she goes to the play.
[]Invite Avril and/or Isabella to the play with you. You'll work out how to get an extra seat once you get there.

"Mum, I know that you're excited, but... are you sure I have to come too? It's the same play they did last year, and the year before, and you remember what it was like then."

"I know, dear, but Sarah's in a starring role now. Don't you want to come and watch her sing?"

"You know as well as I do that Sarah can't sing for toffee, Mum. And besides, I've got that biology project to finish off. I already asked Isabella to come round later."

"I know, dear, but it's the thought that counts. Isabella? Would that be the nice girl who was here yesterday? Well, at least you're being a little more sociable. Still, it's the only time your sister will be in a lead role like this... Let me think a moment."

You know that your mother worries sometimes that you don't spend enough time with kids your own age. You could probably use that to push her decision a little. Of course, there's only so much she'll let you get away with - if you use that now, you probably won't be able to bring it up again any time soon, and it's basically your only trump card in these sorts of arguments.

((Roll 2d6 to persuade your mother, I'll take the best of the first three. You need an 8+ to succeed on this, or an 11+ for a critical success. However, you can decide after you see the result whether you want to use the String that you have on your mother to manipulate her a little better - this manifests itself as a +3 bonus on the roll. One use only, though.))

"Well, alright. I suppose that project is fairly important. Just promise me there won't be any hanky-panky in the house. That Isabella was quite pretty."

You roll your eyes at her. "I know, I know, but let a mother have her illusions of grandchildren some day. Anyway, I need to get going. There's some dinner in the fridge, you know my mobile number if there's an emergency, stay safe. See you around 8." She kisses you on the cheek and hurries out the door.

You know Avril will be arriving soon, but you probably have a bit of time to prepare. Is there anything you want to do before she gets here?

You grab a drink of water, clear off your bed and try to sit down and meditate. You've never really meditated before, but you know roughly how it goes - sit cross-legged, close your eyes and try to empty your mind. Clearing your mind turns out to be quite difficult, though - you know Avril will be coming over soon and images of her keep floating up into your mind, bent over, spread beneath you, moaning your name. You can feel yourself getting hungry again.

After a few minutes, you hear a knock on the door, and when you go down, Avril is standing outside, still wearing her school uniform. "Hey Chris." She leans in and kisses you. Her tongue feels good, warming your mouth. "Shall we go upstairs?"

She slides past you without waiting for an answer, pressing her body against yours as she passes, and almost glides up the stairs. As she reaches the top she turns and beckons you. "Coming?" You look up and can't help but catch a glimpse of pink skin and green hair beneath her skirt.

[] Stay in control. Make her beg, and see what she's come up with since lunch time.

You close the door and follow her up the stairs, taking her gently by the arm and leading her into your room. Once inside, you put a hand on her shoulder and lightly but firmly press down. She bites her lip for a second and then sinks gracefully to her knees. Her hands go behind her back almost instinctively, thrusting her chest out a little.

"I told you at lunch that you'd need to beg for it, didn't I? Are you going to show me how well you can beg?"

"Y-yes, Chris. Please. I want you so much. I've been thinking about you ever since lunch. I want you to fuck me again. Any way you like, take me, use me. I'm yours, I.. promise. Even if you're not mine. Just please, make me feel like that again." She looks up at you, her hands coming forward to fumble a little with the buttons on her blouse. ***

You haven't looked at your watch in a while, but that must have been an hour and a half, maybe two hours. You had no idea you could feel this good and this exhausted at the same time. Your legs ache, your hips ache, your arms ache. You're filled with a warm, diffused feeling of satisfaction and fullness. Both of your hungers are completely quiet. Avril is curled up next to you on the bed, also too tired to move, and you're staring up at the ceiling. Even with your drink of water and brief rest earlier, your head is swimming a little. You don't want to move to get more water, though. You can feel yourself drifting off a little, like when you were trying to meditate earlier, but smoother. Between the exhaustion and the calmness of being so full, you feel as if you could just drift away...

You pull yourself to your feet, slipping your arm out from under Avril, and make your way downstairs to get a glass of water. After a moment's thought you pour another one and carry them back upstairs, passing one to Avril as she groggily sits up. "Hmm? Oh, uh, thanks Chris." She downs it in one gulp and looks around at her clothes scattered across the floor of the room. "I guess we should clear those up a bit?"

You start to gather your own clothes back up as well and slowly help her get dressed, stopping her occasionally to lick her neck or nibble her collarbone. Once she's finally dressed, she turns back to you. "Uh... could I get my bra, as well? I mean, if you want to keep it, that's okay. I meant what I said before, about being yours. My mum might notice it's missing, though."

You finish getting dressed, considering it. Keeping it would certainly give you a bit more of a hold over her. You might get her in trouble, though.

Avril nods her head. "Yes sir - uh, yes, Chris. Whatever you want. I'll see you at school tomorrow, anyway." You finish getting dressed and take her to the door.

Just as you open the door, you see Isabella walking up to it. She blinks for a second. "Oh, uh... Hi, Chris. Hi, Avril."

"Hi, Isabella. See you tomorrow, Chris." Avril waves at you as she heads off, and Isabella turns to you, raising an eyebrow.

"I brought the rest of my notes on the project, and a book I found that looks like it's about genetics. I'm suddenly a little more interested in what that was about, though. I didn't know you had any projects with Avril Dunway." She walks in, hanging up her coat and handing you a folder of loose papers and a book from her bag.

"Hmmmph. Fair enough. Hope she's paying you up front. I don't think I'd trust that girl to pay me later. I never see her at any of my parties. Not that you come to my parties either, but I wouldn't expect you to. No offence. Just not exactly your scene. Anyway, that project." She heads up to your room like she did yesterday, leaving you to carry her notes and book upstairs. You glance at the book as you follow - it's on genetics, but it's much too general to give you anything that you haven't already gotten from other texts.

You show Isabella the books you picked up from the library yesterday and the notes you've already made from them. She's not really following you on the Biology side of things, but she has a few surprisingly good points to make about the best ways to persuade and entice people with a presentation. You probably don't need to illustrate Mendelian inheritance squares with an illustration of a blonde, blue-eyed woman and a dark-haired, brown-eyed man, both completely naked, though. That might be a little over the top.

Even with Isabella's sligtly lackluster contributions, the project is shaping up very well within an hour or so. If there's anything you want to say to her, take your chance now before she leaves.

"You know, I might actually be interested in coming to one of your parties. Just to see what all the fuss is about, you know."

"Really?" Isabella looks at you with a more approving gaze, sizing you up a little. "Well... maybe. The more the merrier, I suppose. And you have been quite helpful already... alright. Thursday, my place, 8 o'clock onwards. Lie to your parents about where you're going and expect to be back late. If you can get away with it, bring some booze, but don't go getting yourself arrested. Don't go talking to me about it at school or anything. You might be a bit cooler than you look, but that doesn't make us friends or anything, alright? See if you can persuade that Avril chick to come too. I've asked her before and she actually turned me down. I can't let people get away with that sort of thing."

She hands you the rest of the project notes and gathers up her things, sweeping off without bothering to say goodbye. She does give you another appraising look before she leaves, though, and a brief nod.

You have maybe an hour before your parents will be back from the play. You could tidy up a bit more - Isabella didn't seem to notice much, but your room does still smell of sex. The Triple Crescent is a symbol of the triple goddess. The are several triple goddesses in Celtic mythology and include Anu, Danu as well as Brigid each within there own group.
Triple Crescent symbolizes the three aspects of life - Birth, Life and Death. It is also called the triple moon of the goddess representing the maiden, mother and crone. Also the boy, man and matriarch. Both meanings state the three phases of existence and life.
There are several styles of the Triple Crescent symbol, but all symbolize the three aspects of the moon—waxing, waning, and full moon, as well as Goddess, the feminine polarity of the universe.

You lie back and relax, letting this strange array of visions carry you where they will. A few questions float to the surface of your mind: what am I? Am I dead? What happened to me? Why do I feel cold?

You see yourself, in your room yesterday, the rope around your neck. You stumble, fall - from this outside viewpoint, you can clearly see your own neck snapping. It's not a pleasant sight. Isabella runs over, grabs a pair of scissors from your desk and cuts you down. There's no sound as she leans over you and starts applying CPR. After a minute, she slumps over you. Suddenly you see your back arch and your body convulse. Your mouth is wide open and although you can't hear anything, you must be screaming. Your eyes are a solid black from corner to corner for a moment, then a corpse-like white, then back to normal.

The vision fades.

You try to think of any other questions you might have. The party?

Another vision snaps into focus. Two visions, side by side. In one, Cassandra is writhing beneath you on a large bed. Isabella stands to one side, watching, with a wide smirk on her face. She walks forward and places a hand on your shoulder, and you nod slightly. Then she stands behind you and clasps her hand around your throat. In the second vision, you're the one standing to the side and watching. Avril is on the bed in the centre of a group of people, all touching her or playing with her. Her eyes are glassy and blank. Isabella walks up to you and shakes your hand.

The future looks good
>>
>>25875868
((Sorry for the delay, I had to re-phrase this several times to get it under the character limit.))

You're shaken out of your alarming visions by the sound of the door slamming. Your parents are home from the play. You quickly move to tidy your room up a little, and head down to greet them. You tell your mother that you got distracted by a book and didn't have time for dinner, and she smiles and says you can eat with the rest of the family.

The rest of the night passes without much incident, but as you sink into bed that night, you worry whether you'll dream about what you saw.

The next morning you're up fairly early again, and take some time to think about your options. What do you want to focus on doing at school today?

[]Focus on Jill.
[]Focus on Avril.
[]Focus on Masami.
[]Focus on Isabella

>>
>>25875868

Alright, Isabella, clearly a Queen for those of us who read MH.

Also, I get the feeling we can't be "friends" with her now. She's a major power player around here. And she may have also done stuff to us. She controls people, exerts power over them. Which is like, exactly what we do.

We're predators after the same source of food, for lack of a better term. We're gonna have to either keep our hunting ground clear of her, or find a way to out-compete.

Technically, we're a Ghoul (we are undead, and we hunger), and our Hunger is probably Power/Control, as per the mechanics of MH. We add hungers for sex by having sex with people. What >>25875996 is saying is that we don't have the move that gives us stuff for sating a Hunger.

I concur with this, we can't let ourselves be pushed out by Isabella, we should give her some respect but show that she can't push us around either like any of her hangers on. I mean, if we want to extend the metaphor, we either need to keep our "territory" separate, or figure out a way to "outcompete" Isabella on her turf. If that means we flip this shit on her and make her part our prey... she'll be kine just like the rest of them. But that'll probably involve beating her at her own game, on her turf. Real Hardmodo.

kind of. I just think we should avoid rather than pay lip service. if she's as good at this game as I think she is, she'll see right through it
>>
>>25876136
this

Isabella is the most practical option. Chances are she believes we are just a normal guy, so she will not be expecting us to play the game as well as her.

We can either use this time to get to know her, so we can better use it in the future. OR we use this time to do a little playful showing off. We aren't a victim anymore, and she will see it if we show her. Then we team up to take over the whole school, Hell, the whole town.

a whole town of thralls for our games.

The Queen is the manipulative social-dominant kind of character, who comes with a gang of followers at the start. They don't have to be supernatural, but judging from our Visions, Isabella might be. She could also be something entirely different. NPCs don't actually play by the same rules as PCs.

Most of your classes today are quite dull - you have English, History, Physics and more Maths. You're smart enough that you're fairly good at all of them. You have History and Maths with Jill, and you take the chance during History to talk with her a little about whether she's talked any more with Masami, and ask her if she knows Avril at all.

She tells you that she had a brief chat with Masami before school, and might meet her at the library later - her mother might be happier at her making a female friend than a male friend. She doesn't know much about Avril, except that she's a recent transfer student and hasn't been hanging out much with any of the obvious cliques. She's made a few friends, but no close ones.

She's a little nervous when you briefly mention finding out more about the occult - her mother might have a few books on identifying witchcraft and demons, but they're not the sort of thing she really wants to look through.

At lunch time, you get a tray and sit next to Jill in the lunch hall. She's understandably a touch surprised when Avril shows up and sits down across the table from the two of you.

[]You're spending time with Jill right now - subtly let Avril know she should come back later.
[]Try and get Jill and Avril introduced a bit. Tell Jill you're tutoring Avril, like you said to Isabella.

I dunno, open confrontation doesn't seem like the right move. And we don't know if the party is a good idea. It's pretty clear that depending on the circumstances, she'll either try to manipulate or control us (Via our weakness for pussy) or get a handle on our toy/food/pet. We did also just have a weird ass mystical vision while meditating, though, so see how much stock we take.

But I seriously doubt she'd be prepared for an open conflict. Are we prepared for the consequences when shit gets violent and we have to cave in some skulls though?

"Sorry, Jill. I should've mentioned that I've been tutoring Avril a bit. Getting her up to speed in things she didn't learn at her old school."

Avril blinks for a second, then turns to Jill. "Yeah, Chris has been very helpful. He's teaching me about Biology, Physics... I thought I'd come over and say hi, see when the next, uh, tutoring session would be. You're Jill, right?"

"Uh, yes... Is it just Physics and Biology you need help with? When it comes to Maths or English I'm even better than Chris is." Jill is a tiny bit smug there, but only a tiny bit.

Avril grins a bit, and winks at you. "I might have to take you up on that some time, but I'd have to ask Chris about it first - I don't want to muck with my current tutoring arrangements without his permission. So what do you do for fun, Jill?"

Avril laughs. "Oh, sweetie, I can promise you I'm not the Devil. Maybe your mother would be a little happier if a nice girl took you under her wing?"

Jill stares at Avril's bright green hair. "Um, I'm not sure about that. I don't think she'd object too much to tutoring, but I try not to... upset her."

You keep Jill and Avril chatting a little, agreeing with Jill that she's better than you at Maths and English, and suggesting that perhaps the two of you could tutor Avril together some time. As soon as Jill looks at her food, Avril glances over to you and gives you a wide grin, licking her lips. You wink back at her.

You try and persuade Jill to talk a little more about her mother to Avril, but she's understandably nervous about the whole topic, dancing around it. Still, you do manage to quietly suggest to Jill that she should invite Avril to her party as well. She blinks at you a little, then nods tentatively.

Avril finishes her salad quickly enough, and bounces off, asking you to text her the moment you decide when your next 'tutoring' session should be. You and Jill head off to Maths, which is a continuation of yesterday's discussion of Statistics. It's still not the most gripping of topics, but you and Jill have some nice conversations. Now that she's met Avril, Jill finds her a little odd (especially her hair), but very friendly. She's happy that both of you are making more friends lately.

>>
>>25877662
You text Avril. "Can we meet after school, in the park? I want to ask you a few things."

You wait on a bench in the park, the same one you and Jill were using Sunday evening. Avril shows up a few minutes after you. "Hi s- Hi, Chris. You wanted to ask me some stuff?"

"Yeah, I've been noticing a few odd things about Isabella. And she mentioned you don't come to her parties. Do you know something about her?"

Avril looks as if she's got a bit of a sour taste in her mouth. "I don't know exactly, but I can tell that she makes bad bargains. Some of those people that hang around her, they're not getting their end of the deal. They're... hers. Not in the way that I'm yours. More complete, more insidious. They didn't choose to be hers, not really. I don't want to spend too much time around her, and... I mean, I wouldn't tell you what to do, but I think she's dangerous to you too. If she gets her claws into you, you'll have a hard time getting free."

"And what about you? There's obviously something about you. The hair, the food. The promises. What are you really, Avril?"

She blushes and looks at the floor. "I... shouldn't talk about that, really. I mean, if you insist - you're not *exactly* covered by that any more, but if I push my loopholes too much, it might cause problems. You can work out some of it for yourself, can't you? And I can... talk around things, a little. If it's you that asks." She blushes again and sits on the ground in front of the bench, by your feet.
>>
>>25877950

Geas detected. And we know not to accept any bargains from Isabella. She doesn't deal in good faith, apparently.

Ask her to tell us what she feels like we can, and we'll solve the rest.

Rather, ask her to tell us what information she feel like she can.

If that's not specific enough, we'll first ask if she promised someone she could talk about what she is.

Or, I mean, we can just jump right into it, an ask what she know about the Fair Folk. Or another good oblique question is how she feels about Cold Iron.

>>25878056

Question for question, answer for answer is a good game, but she sounds like she's made promises to watch what she says. She literally cannot tell us the straight up truth.

>>
>>25878002
We got two visions of Isabella's party when we meditated, one featuring Avril, one without. Those are what'll happen to us if we attend, depending on whether or not we bring Avril along, unless we can resist her.

That'd be a risky thing to try. Maybe better to understand more about ourselves and our powers, and about Avril and Isabella, before we do anything that might lead to a confrontation with her.
>>
>>25878081
And have you? We might want to ask /x/ about negotiating with fae.
>>
>>25878127
We should probably find out if there's a way to get her off the hook with whatever contract she's made that's keeping her from speaking. No only would the information be useful, but it would indebt her to us.

taking risks is better than this quiet stagnation.

>>
>>25878111
We need to be subtle, to get through those loopholes. Maybe "What's your favourite fairytale?" or something like that, open for her to fill with details and pointing the conversation in a certain direction, but hypothetical.

We could ask open kind of questions about the things we already asked: "What's the significance of the colour green? What's special about your salads?"
>>
>>25878170
Only in WoD, but this guy knows what he's talking about.>>25878127

>>
I take it your parents were members of the gentry and the sort who you really didn't want to get caught badmouthing?
>>
>>25878225
"My favourite fairy tale?" Avril pauses to think for a moment, grinning up at you. "Does A Midsummer Night's Dream count? That's always a good one. Very funny. Or Sleeping Beauty. A bit more somber. But everything works out well in the end."

"Where were you from in Ireland? Who were your family? What brings you here?"

"Oh, nowhere special. Nice little place. Very near to a hill. Very near indeed. My family were... I suppose you might call them the gentry. Not so well to do as they used to be, though. Not many of our sort of people left anymore. I suppose that's one of the reasons I'm here. We're... spreading out a little. Looking for anyone else like us. Or close enough to talk to. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone who understands you, right?"

"I suppose you might say your parents were very fair folk, huh?"

She laughs, a few soft but elegant sounds. "Oh, absolutely. Fairness is very important to us. In a lot of things." She looks at you carefully. "You're very perceptive, did you know that? Very well-spoken. I think my parents would approve. Anything else?"

"What's so special about the colour green? Is it anything to do with your salads?"

"Oh, that's an easy one. The salads are just about not taking something that wasn't offered. Simple enough. The green?" She grins. "I like it. It makes me stand out. And it attracts interesting people."

((Sorry, that took way more work than I thought it would. Second part in a sec.))
>>
>>25878786

We've hit the bump limit, btw, OP. Probably want to start a new thread after this.
>>
>>25878786
"Might there be any way to... renegotiate things, so that you can speak more freely to me?"

Avril frowns. "That's... not something I'd be able to do on my own. You'd have to speak directly to my father. I think he'd like you, but that doesn't mean he'd go easy on you. Especially since it's meant to be for my own good."

"What's the closest analogy to a mythical being you can give me, to describe what you are?"

"Analogies are a tricky thing. Especially mythological ones. A fictional being, close to me?" She thinks for a moment. "An elf, maybe? What you think of as an elf is totally mythological. But it might help."

"Was that everything, si- um, Chris?"

We've determined she's Fae, of some sort. She's "ours" so she's like, loyal or something. She was raised by traditional, "noble" people, she's offering respect.

May need to go back and check the specifics of early interactions with her. Avril seems nice, and doesn't exactly ask us for much, but we should be wary of taking or giving things to her or her people. We may end up accruing (or inflicting) debts we don't intend. Which would be bad.

Eh, that was more of a token of her esteem, I think. Y'know, since ladies don't exactly pack silk scarves or handkerchiefs so much these days.
>>
>>25879113
She seems smart and seems to know her game, like when she asked for a commitment promise at the start. I don't think she would unknowingly trap us in a promise and at the same time I don't think that asking for something or taking something given counts. So whilst it may be worth going back and checking, i don't think we are too heavily engaged
>>
>>25879281
we havent madeany deals, i dont remember making any promises either.
from the start, we first saw her as an easy girl, shutting down when she act too clingy; and then turned her into a sub/pet. so we are in the clean for now. and now that everything is out in open, it should be easy for us to avoid that.
>>
>>25878858
I support ending it with the "No, not everything..." and pulling her in for a kiss and sating our hungers.
But before that, asking a bit about the nature of bargains, or some of the rules of them, may be good. Definitely what bargains she knows or thinks we have.
May be worth it to ask her what question she thinks we should ask, if that doesn't incur a debt.
>>
>>25879372
We keep asking her to beg, and we feed off her.

"Almost everything, my fair beauty." You lean down and give her a deep kiss. "What do you think about me?"

"Um, in terms of my feelings, or in terms of... what you are now? I think I, uh, made my feelings pretty clear." She blushes a little. "I wouldn't make a promise like that unless I meant it. And I definitely got something in return, something I don't think I could get anywhere else, so it's fairly bargained. As for what you are... a soul bound to a body, the same soul and the same body, but not the same binding as it was before. There's something else - I don't recognise it, it's not one of us. Something you made a bargain with without consciously acknowledging it, maybe. But it's a fair bargain. I don't think I could get it out without severing the binding, I'm sorry."

"Well, that will have to do for now. One last thing."

You draw Avril up onto your lap, letting her straddle your legs. The park is fairly abandoned, and you're just two teenagers sitting together from a distance. You kiss her deeply to stifle her moans.

***

You return to your house a bit later than usual, feeling well fed. As you lie down, you reflect a little on the last three days. You feel even better than before, in fact. Feeding from Avril earlier left you flush with power. You wonder whether you'll feel any different when you wake.

((This will be the last story post for tonight. In a moment, however, you'll get a series of options for what Chris can do to expand on his abilities.))

What I'm saying is I don't think the people who feed us have to give anything up to sate the Hunger. Rather, just the experience of exerting or having power, or having sex with Avril, fills the need.

>>25879720

We have Disaffected, and since we remember how we died, I assume Ending? Though Watchful Golem would be cool it doesn't fit with anything we've done. the Infernal's Dark Recruiter would be funny and appropriate, but I don't think any of us would win the vote with moves from another playbook just yet. Better able to keep your cool, and seduce others.

>>
>More generally persuasive.

This is a good defense. We need a good defense before we can focus on wooing Isabella. Besides, The more in control and powerful we are, the easier it will be to satisfy Hunger.

Either of these, whichever is getting the most votes (currently keeping cool).

>[] Something else, something more unusual or unique? Ask, and you may or may not receive.
Something that might make us more effective, in any way, against other supernatural entities? Or better able to perceive them and learn about ones we meet?

It's folk-tales. There is no canon, necessarily. There are some widely used ideas, but it's not like the Bible or a fictional work. There's no authority to say one way or the other.

If you're asking about in Monsterhearts, there aren't any. That details of the supernatural are up to the group. We'd have to figure out in game.

Absolutely, if people want them. Writing long scenes of reasonably-okay erotica is a much slower process than writing short quest posts, though, so they'll likely lag behind the main story.
