Adjutant A.I. Online. Mission briefing begins:

You were a ghost operative of the Terran Dominion, under Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. Your Codename is Delta Phoenix. You received a transmission from Korhal. "The Emperor is Dead. Long live the Emperor. "

It seems like a lifetime since the fall of Korhal disabled your neural inhibitor and you went rogue. With the help of a rogue Dominion Marine, Jacob Henderson, you and your small crew secured a Gorgon-Class battlecruiser you now call The Daluke. The Dominion, bounty hunters, and criminal scum alike are all after you with a massive 1.5 billion credit bounty on your head. But they're going to have to earn it, first.

You are currently aboard The Daluke in orbit over Murric. You have brought your combat units up to snuff and finished repairs on The Daluke.

Let's train 2 more medics. Recruit one last time. Make enough SCVs to leave 12 on the planet and leave us with 4 or 5. So make 3 to 4 SCVs and we're golden on that. Then we're practically good to lift off this rock.
>>
>>25847828
Alright, list of things to do:

Name Vessels

Train 2 more medics

Train and build 12 SCVs, prioritize personnel with children.

Repair Daluke to full.
>>
>>25847828
Is the 8,000 total needed to crew the battle cruiser then number of any units needed or specialized crew for it?
>>
>>25847828
I vote for getting +1 Armor and +1 Weapons before we leave this planet.

Again.
>>
Guys seriously we gotta wrangle up some scientist and engineers for ourselves

We are heavily under staffed within those departments
>>
Has the science section being repaired opened anything up for us? Or do we need specialists for that?
>>
>>25847905
seconding
>>
>>25847894
There are some specializations.

As we are currently at less than 10% of crew staffing it is completely and totally irrelevant at this time. All components require additional crew of all kinds.

>>25847887
The Daluke was repaired to full.
It now requires only crew.
>>
>>25847878

I would insist on more marines to go along with it. 2 Medics, 2 Firebats and 5 Marines doesn't carry as much firepower as 2 Medics, 2 Firebats, and 10 Marines. Plus we can separate them into fireteams that way should we ever need to.
>>
>>25847905
Yeah but we've basically drained this place dry for now man.

>>25847894
8000 is the optimal basically.

>>25847887
I can agree with that.
cept I thought we just did repair it to full.
>>
>>25847913
Scientists and Engineers are required for research.

We currently have 1 engineer and no scientists.
>>
>>25847929
You're forgetting the goliath with each crew. That's not a bad punch right there. I can kind of agree though.
>>
How're we doing in Ship to Ship style actions? Is everything working there?
>>
>>25847905
This. We've got a pretty decent anti-boarding force- we need more development, research, tech, and AI specialists.
>>
>>25847935
Can we have him working on "Modifications" by giving him spare CMCs and various spare parts?
>>
>>25847949
Speaking of which, dakkarauders. Marauders minus the grenade launchers but with gauss rifles.
>>
>>25847935
we should attempt to recruits some from a university or something
>>
>>25847949
>>25847957
It is possible for him to produce a CMC-660 suit with C-14 capacity.

Eye One
>>
>>25847940

Except Goliaths aren't really that helpful in boarding situations unless under very specific conditions.

Boarding ability is kind of critical.
>>
>>25847828
It would be a great idea to train about five or six more SCVs and some more medics but I think we should prioritize finding trained Engineering or Research staff to man the Daluke before shit hits the fan.
>>
>>25847961
Murric does not have any education centers.
>>
>>25847961
Dat's a good idea.

I dunno...

2 medics and 20 marines I guess. Also the 12 SCVs for us to leave behind. It gives us time to recruit engineers and scientists from a university. Sound good everyone?
>>
>>25847957
I don't think we have maruader blueprints anon. Tyrone stated his was not up for dismantling which I imagine we'd need for it.

Oh speaking of which our Engineer should start looking over the vulture for reproduction. We might as well get the schematics for it.
>>
>>25847995

Sounds great to me.
>>
>>25847976
Well, Mauraders are based off of SC2 firebat suits, so we can use those.
>>
>>25847990
We do not have battlecruiser crew training capacity at this time.

All crew has been rudimentary instructed by the XO.

We cannot improve any combat or production efficiency until actual crew can be trained.
>>
>>25847994
I...what?...It explains all the nasca-I mean...vulture racing.

>>25847995
I support this. Gives us everything we need for balance. Let's do it so we can get the fuck out of here please.
>>
>>25847980
>Eye One
>Not Taskmaster

>>25847994
Ha.
>>
>>25847997
the firebat and marauder suit is the same, the CMC-660, we would need marauder schematics to make their grenade launcher to make actual marauders
>>
>>25848023

It also gives us time to mine more resources to patch ourselves up should we get damaged again.
>>
>>25847980
Hercules: Highlander (though apparently, someone doesn't like that name, so here's an alternative), Nessie.
Planet Hopper: Redtail
Nomad: Foreman
>>
>>25847976

What about an Anti-Armor Marauder once we get that Comet?
>>
>>25848040
This is true. Let's do it so we can get the hell out of here.
>>

Marauders are already anti-armor.

It is not possible for CMC-660 armor to house weapons with backblast, as this is 94% likely to result in operator death.

Additionally, at the acquisition of Marauders, that unit would be rendered obsolete.
>>
>>25848072

I'm reading here that they carry grenade launchers, I think missiles would be more effective against armor, though not as good against infantry.
>>
Wouldn't the riot planet be a good place to pick up swarths of people? and with all the smuggling, some black-market goodies might be available...

but only once we have concluded our business on Muric...
>>
>>25848101
It is extremely likely that the civilian population is attempting to evacuate off-world.
>>
>>25848101

I suppose, but I don't want to risk coming out of our hidey-hole until we're absolutely prepared for combat.
>>
>>25848098
their punisher grenade launchers work just as well as missiles, in a more compact size with higher rates of fire, also >>25848080
>>
>>25848101
if we can offer people a chance to get off that rock I bet we'd get some quality people.
>>
>>25848098
Marauder anti-armor effectiveness is primarily due to speed reduction of Concussive shells.
>>
>>25848114
Shit, I'm tempted to say "instant crew"
>>
>>25848119
with
>>25847995
This we pretty much will be.

Guys let's do it so we can go to the riot planet, sell our shit, pick up some people, keep being awesome.
>>
>>25848119
It is only 2% likely that we can improve fleet combat effectiveness at this time.

Boarding defenses can be improved, however we do not have access to additional dropships for offensive boarding.
>>
>>25848128
Well...shitty crew. But yes a crew.
>>
>>25848125
we'd also get some rather unsavory elements trying to make it off world, but we can read their minds so thats a moot point
>>
>>25848136
It's k Adjutant. We just wanna do
>>25847995
that. Then we're out of here.

I'm not seeing it on the armory.
>>
>>25848125
We just need to intercept out-going transports. We offer trained refugees a job NOW.
>>
>>25848151
2 medics and 20 marines will take 12 days to produce.

We do not have 20 marine volunteers. We currently have 8.
>>
>>25848158
we're using it right now
>>
>>25848154
Perfect! Educated people!

Let's finish our marines medics and SCVs and get a move on boys!
>>
>>25848166
can we make 12 SCVs instead?
>>
>>25848158
Yes. Updating records.
>>

honestly I'd rather just get the medics. We're good on marines for now.
>>

Yes.
>>
>>25848166
Train the 8 then guys?

What do you think...I personally think we can hold off on the marines for now. We do need the medics.

So let's do the medics the 8 marines and the 12 SCVs to leave behind.

Okay guys Lets have a plan of attack

What should we be based off of

Should we focus entirely on space combat and boarding action? Or should we have majority of our operations conducted on planetside?

Right now is the deciding factor

We have a moderately good amount of everything right now so what we gotta do is spend most of our money on what?
Space fighters?
Mechanized vehicles?
Hardy infantry?

What?

I say what we should mostly focus more on is building a more formidable space fleet

The amount of ships we have right now is pitiful considering how we're a fully functioning Gorgon class battlecruiser

We obviously can't board and pirate ships with that slow moving ship as our main ship, we need more fast attacking fighters and more drop ships to deliver boarding parties to their destinations

Of course this ain't the perfect plan but ehhh

What are some of your guys ideas of what we should base our shit off of?

Or should we just have a jack of all trades type operations?
>>
>>25848610
Of course we do. This is TG. We like preparededness.

Really though. We're pretty set right now. The ship still ain't perfect crew wise (because we don't have people who actually know how to run the bitch) but it'll certainly do.

>1 Jungle World XTYU003: Edge of Protoss space. Ruins on planet, inhabited by friendly Protoss Dark Templar Kassix.

>2 Volcanic World HA002: Old zerg hive world. Nuked out years ago during the Brood Wars. Heavy in minerals, vespene gas, and geothermal energy.

>3 Forest World NN014 "New Ares": Small colony in operation, mostly agriculture. Close to heavy shipping lanes.

>4 Urban World Kilaro: Completely urban landscape. In complete riots and chaos following the near-fall of the dominion. Food, medicine, and weapons are all in short supply with next to no security force policing smugglers.

>5 Nohallan: Fringe Ice Planet. Hostile Wildlife and climate. Well outside of Domninion space.

>6 Barren World JZ01919: No atmosphere, high in inorganic salts and rare compounds. Mining platform station "Dick's Paradise" in orbit.

>7 Corendis: Jungle World, known for heavy Safari activity. Low in minerals, high in vespene gas.

>8 New Albuquerque: Fringe Desert Planet. Civilian Shipbuilding industry. Low in minerals and vespene gas.

>9 Station 114: Fringe territory observation post. Previously Confederate, now occupied by ex-Confederate mercenaries.

Alright people, I think we should define what we consider a standard infantry squadron, so we won't get so confused next opportunity to build.

Oh Adjy, never change.

We have 1 wraith capable of combat action.

The Daluke is also capable of combat action. We are currently at 25% combat effectiveness.

Get us more intel on the raider attack on the civilians.

See to it if you can get someone with logistics expertise to hijack and direct the trade port traffic.

Track the Dominion ship and the descent of any dropship from it.

After those three, we will prioritise aiding civilian ships in distress. Considering sending a medic to get a situational report on the civilian ship with illness (Note: In biohazard suits, with boarding points prepped for biohazardous material cleansing.)

>local defense ships

We can't deal with it now, dodge it as best as we can and retaliate immediately if they start moving against us.

We have to deal with the raiders first. They'll come after us or our ships as soon as we start deploying.
>>

>>
>>25848947
I'm not entirely sure what Delta Phoenix's moral compass looks like. We did some cruel stuff for the Dominion, and we seem to be willing to do just about anything in the interests of the crew (and our own).

>1 civilian, 6 children
I don't think DP would turn aside children. We've got to send a non-combat ship to help them out.

>Dominion
Definitely attacking these guys. They're obviously going down to reinforce whatever Dominion interests are currently planetside. Let's not give the Dominion a chance to bring this planet back into the fold.

I'm kinda torn on what to use with the Daluke and our Wraith. Taking on the raiders seems a just plain bad idea. As does taking on the Dominion.

So really its

1) Just swinging by the defense ships and offering resupply via our docking bays.

2) Hooking up with the station to direct traffic.

Either could help save countless lives.

Adjutant are either of the defence ships able to meet us as we head to the station?

>"Dropship One, set heading for Civilian ship, coordinates ten, twenty one, six. Take requested supplies. Hercules One, set bearing for civilian ship at coordinates sixteen, fourty, ten. Take medic squad and two marines. Bad News, take a marine squad and head to civilian dropship, Coordinates twenty, six, six. Dolphin 13, do what you can for militia cruiser gamma, coordinates four, eighteen, twenty-two."

One down. Come on, team...

So far so good.

>"This is the Bad News to Black Earl. Cease engines immediately and prepare to be boarded."
>"Never! You'll always remember this as the day you almost captured Captain... James... Raven!~"
>"He's moving too fast, can't board him. Lock H.A.L.O. package."
>"He's ejecting! Sir, Black Earl's crew is requesting to board the Daluke. They're requesting to join us."

Another dropship. You might make out on this after all...

>"This is bbattlecruiser Gamma. We read you on sensors Dolphin 13. What do you need?"
>"I'm here to help."
>"Help... How, Dolphin 13?"
>"I'm bringing Ammo and Fuel!"

>"I'm a wraith hauling SCVs, baby!"

You seem a tad shocked, then look at sensors. SCVs 1-11 are being hauled by Dolphin 13.

Your XO is the first to comment.

You couldn't do anything for them, but hopefully you saved more lives this way.

Your XO speaks:
>"Sir, I'm detecting multiple warp signatures. One of them is Minotaur class. It's within range of the defense platforms. Not Dominion though- I'm detecting weapons fire, it's definitely hostile. Enemy Squadrons have been deployed."

The radio goes hot:
"This is platform Hotfoot! We have inbound raiders! Scramble all available fighters, get reinforcements to our position -something, anything! Aaaaaaauuuuhhhh!"

>"Sir, wraiths are inbound on civilian ships."

>"-requesting fuel. We're stranded and in need of- What's that on sensors? Incoming fire! Hit the deck! Hit the- ssshhhkkk"

You look at the sensors, that battlecruiser is much smaller than yours. Perhaps you can engage it, or at least scare it.

>"XO, how long do we have until we can engage that ship?"
>"We have a few minutes, sir, but we'll have to disengage from the station."

Casualties have fallen massively since your adjutant connected. You consider the risk when you hear communications.

>"Battlecruiser Gamma to the Daluke. Thanks for the Assist. We'll take it from here with your pilot, don't worry."

You respond.
>"Confirmed. Dolphin 13, weapons free. Support battlecruiser Gamma."
>"Thought you'd never ask, sir. Dolphin 13 engaging.

You look out the bridge. Even from such a far distance you see the flash and resulting explosion.

>"Hit confirmed. Repeat, hit confirmed. Clean up these fighters, boys."

Space is relatively secured, and the Daluke will remain docked with the station for the time being. It's time to consider your deployments:

>Sell Excess 1458.5 supply for 364,625 Credits.
>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.
>Send a landing team to sabotage Dominion security installations.
>Send a landing team to recruit from the civilian population.
>Explore weapons and schematics opportunities.

I think we should sell 1000 supply and keep the rest for ourselves for a just in case

>Send a landing team to sabotage Dominion security installations.
Delta
>Send a landing team to recruit from the civilian population.

>>
>>25850291
Okay. Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation first. Don't want them getting fucked up. Solo mission for us to go to the dominion base.

Have our crew sell the goods. We can check up on weapons and schematics when we get back.

We can recruit from the civvies later I guess.

Does it sound like a good plan guys?
>>
>>25850310

>>
>>25850269
Is the captain of battlecruiser Gamma willing to teach some of our crew how to operate the Yamato cannon?
>>
>>25850310
yup, I can get behind that.
>>
>>25850269
We should sell supplies and make 300,000 worth of creds. No need to sell all of the supplies and recruit some engineers, scientists, and buy some more space ships
>>
>>25850296
I have currently optimized sales for profit.

At your request I can select high-need clients primarily, reducing our profits from 250 per supply to 150 per supply.

Note: There may be civilians in the greatest need with no access to credits or communications to purchase from us.
>>
>>25850296
We should secure the Jakibs installation and fuck up dominion. Keep them from reporting back and it keeps us from losing the chance at Jakibs.

Our crew can sell the goods. Have them haggle for a better price.

I mean, have some of his techs teach ours.

In priority
>sell 1400 in case we encounter any more recruits we want.
>explore schematic options
>send a team to the Jakobs installation. There are bound to be a few types who would just love our facilities.
>recruit from the civilian populace.
Target individuals with skills/talents. Doesn't matter if they are a civilian, criminal, or even a war criminal(can't exactly judge). As long as they have decent loyalty and wont betray us right away.
>>Send a landing team to sabotage Dominion security installations.
Our banshee aught to cause some real pain for them. Just make sure it has a wraith or valkyrie nearby just in case. If we deploy ground forces it should be exploit opportunities. We can even go down ourselves if there is something that requires something needing to die.

>Send a landing team to sabotage Dominion security installations.
I say we try to avoid the dominion here

>>
>>25850431

The Daluke now provides supply for it's crew of 8,000, all stationed wings, and all garrisoned troops.

Power limitations do not allow the Daluke to produce supply over what is required.
>>
>>25850436
Well then it should scale with the crew as it grows and not be a problem. No need to hold some in reserve to allow for crew growth.

Other reasons, sure. But not that.

So what I'm thinking is:
>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.
Dropship with our best dudes to secure the place. Could run into unforeseen opposition. If possible establish full evacuation, if not just grab what we can.
>Send a landing team to sabotage Dominion security installations.
Solo mission for DP.
>Send a landing team to recruit from the civilian population.
Hercules with marine/medic escort for on the ground action. Double as humanitarian mission maybe.
>>
>>25850581
Can we provide air support from the battle cruiser and with assistance from the other battle cruiser already in orbit?
>>
>>25850565
Fixing plan.

Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation first. Don't want them getting fucked up. Solo mission for us to go to the dominion base.

Send medics to support the rebels attacking dominion. Make sure they don't try any heroics.
Send our goliaths as well. All of them. Let them know that they're going to be mainly a distraction. Try to keep the civvies from getting themselves slaughtered.

Send Tyrone as well since he wants to go. (Awwwh shieeet.)

Have our crew sell the goods. We can check up on weapons and schematics when we get back.

We can recruit from the civvies later I guess.

Does it sound like a good plan guys?

When are we not?

>>
>>25850599
We can disable the turrets on our solo mission.
>>
>>25850565
sell excess supplies all of them. Send a team down to the Jakibs installation have the old doc(make a good impression) go down with the dispatched team. Send 3 assault teams down to the dominion base to assist the rebels. We ourselves will use the assault on the dominion to infiltrate their installations. After we return we can explore weapon and schematics options. Also after the team finishes their job at the Jakobs installation put them on civilian recruitment duty without the old doc.
>>

The rear is mostly undefended, but difficult to access.

>>
>>25850608
I'd keep our ground forces away from the Dominion base for now. Keep them in reserve and go on the solo mission. Once we've succeeded at fucking up their base solo and opening holes in it we can have our ground forces come in and deal major damage at key points instead of just chucking them into a meatgrinder.

Missile turrets are controlled by the operator.

They cannot be disabled remotely.

Depends on what the dominion based their defense pattern on. A ship can take a few hits in starcraft. Which you earn can use to blow up the tanks. Considering this is Dominion forces its workable.

You stand at the bridge's tactical overlay grid, waiting for your crew to show up. Your XO is first, never far from the bridge, followed by Tyrone, eager to know what the status of the planet is. Mia and Henderson come in together, Henderson wearing his 'civilian' Hawaiian shirt. Barney comes last and late, directed by one of your marines. Apparently he couldn't find the bridge...

>"Our first objective here is to eliminate Dominion security. To that end, I have brought you all here for your tactical advice."
>"What's tha' matter, boss? Losin' your edge? I thought the last deployment went reeeeeaaall smooth-like. - Ooof!"
Mia hits Henderson in the ribs with her elbow.

We bring down the battleship and assault the command center

That should draw the men in the bunker out or some other resistance back onto the back of the base

We then infiltrate and lock down both the siege tank and the resistance comes in along with our troops and fucking bum rush their ass while our battlecruiser and banshee comes in to give some air support only after the missile turrets are down

Everyone game?
>>
>>25851018
They range between 5 and 7 stories. We can place marines in cover, but dropping them into the buildings will prove difficult due to anti-air emplacements.
>>
>>25850993
DP should go to high ground so that, she could provide sniper support and possibly kill turret operators/lockdown siege tanks
>>
>>25851029
Hell no. They got other anti-air than the missile turrets.

((Better risk our most precious asset with a mission we can accomplish with one operative and some medics, guys!))

>>25850993
Ah that makes things a lot clearer.

I assume the green arrow near the back is where we'll enter from? If so, then I say we sneak up behind the Barracks and move in to disable the Bunker, then the siege tanks

Those are the most troublesome, and the resistance SHOULD be able to push past if we can do that, unless they're horribly ill equipped.

...They're not horribly ill equipped are they?
>>
>>25851037
I'll say, we should do this AFTER our solo mission to sabotage what we can
>>
>>25851037

We don't need anything other than us infiltrating the base and winning.
>>
>>25851051

>>
>>25851043
honestly the siege tanks need to go first to give the rebellion the greatest chance.

How about this?

Delta disables one turret with a lockdown and Mia comes in with the banshee to take out that siege tank. The other one Delta throws an emp at. Delta is then free to away at the siege tank operator.
>>
>>25851064
The missile turrets are right next to the barracks, bunker, and siege tanks.

>>25851050
What is the range of the tower detection in regards to this map?

>>25851029
>>25851041
>>25851042
The battleship would be out of range from the missile turret when we hit their rear (assuming this is gametype range) the wraith we have would engage the valkyries in stealth mode before they reach the battlecruiser. The armor of our battlecruiser would be able to withstand several volleys of missiles from the valkyries, enough time for our stealth wraith to take them out. Our weapons are 25% operational, enough to deal with any light air targets and soft ground targets
>>
>>25851070
Hell if we do it right I bet we can just walk right the fuck in.

Wait for troops to exit a door and just waltz on through.
>>
>>25851080
wraith doesn't do stealth mode

>>25850993
Seconding Barney's plan. We go in the rear, alone, and later send some medics should they be required. Tactical minded, he.
>>
>>25851050
Guys, read this. We don't have to give a fuck about the emplacements right now, we just take the god damn base. We come in from behind, beyond the Missile Tower sensor range I believe, infiltrate the base, and it's all taken care of.
>>
>>25851080
The second the BC is within firing range, it'd already have missile flying at it.
>>
You consider your options carefully. A strike team of 16 marines supported by goliath walkers simultaneously could attack the northern passage, while marine snipers attack from the south. If you call in your battlecruiser behind the -

Tyrone interrupts you.
>"Baby, we got D-8 Charges. Why don't you just sneak past and get those production buildings. The Dominion boys will run home cryin' to their momma's. Ain't a single turret back there to see what hit 'em."

That... could also work, you guess.
>>
>>25851089
What I thought we had stealth?!
>>
>>25850993
Let a sizeable force create a distraction. Have them take cover and just distract the dominion defenders long enough for ghost to move in.

Have the ghost infiltrate behind the siege tanks into the northern one while locking down the other.

Have the ghost eliminate the norther siege tanks driver, then take control of it and shoot the locked down tank to bits.

Then turn your cannons onto the bunkers, backing out of their immediate range and siege them down.

Signal the distraction force to advance while ghost gets out and infiltrates the base.
>>
>>25851080
Our wraith don't stealth boy.

Guys our job isn't to destroy emplacements. Basically we just wanted to make sure our guys knew what they were doing. They clearly do.

>Achieving consensus.

Your current fleet structure and deployment doesn't call for Artillery, yet. The resistance forces can use it more.

>"I'll drop down behind enemy lines in the Banshee. Have all available medics deployed at the resistance base camp. Let them know what's going on."
>"Mind if I tag along to the camp, Baby? I need to check on some of my people."

You decide that there's no harm in it and let Tyrone join the Medics. You prepare for mission deployment.

The Banshee lands in the burnt out ruins of buildings, you step down, stealth active, and make for the rear of the dominion base. You have to climb several fences, scale some rubble, but eventually you see it.

Men, brave men, armed with nothing but rifles weaker than CMCs are struggling through cover and being blown apart by siege tanks and marines in bunkers. They don't stand a snowball's chance in hell. But they're on the defensive, waiting for the explosion you've promised them.

A single viking walker patrols the rear perimeter. You will need to disable it.

>>25851797
It's not a big deal, but just look up the wiki on the unit before deciding what to do with it.

Really, it's not that hard. Google is your friend.

So if people don't play starcraft they can't participate in the quest? Guess half the people here better fuck off then. Have fun with no players.

I don't play starcraft and I gotta admit... it might improve things if those who have no idea what anything is fucked off. Or at least acknowledged the limitations of their knowledge and either sought to correct their ignorance or abstained from participating in votes where understanding of the units is key.
>>
>>25851833
I do read the info Adjutant gives us. I know a wraith is a space fighter. I know that the ship we sent to deal with boarding a ship wasn't ideal for it. I know that dice saved our ass. I didn't remember what a banshee was. Honestly I think the board could use less people like you in general.
>>
>>25851835
Since we're talking in the third dimension, Banshee technically COULD hit air units by flying above them...

but they don't have targetting parameters for air units and it'd be horribly inaccurate.

Not to mention they're relatively short ranged compared to most air units.
>>
>>25851824
Because ground wars are a thing, a lot of important territory is on the ground, and groundpounders love their close air support like a child loves its mother.

>>25851900
I don't know.

Somewhere in their heads they think "Well, Vikings are notoriously difficult to fly, it was stated that it wasn't known if Delta could fly one, Locking it down will be noticed, it is possible that we will be pursued after doing this by the other two Vikings, so we should totally do it. Let's ignore the perfectly good escape route we already have in place."

>Consensus achieved.
>1 Lockdown round and place charge, attempt to fly viking out of here.

You lock the Viking down, the pilot yells in futility, banging on the cockpit, but unable to do anything. You head for the commander center and place the charges.

You then head back the viking, wrench open the cockpit with your bare hands, and shank the pilot. He falls from the cockpit and you take his seat and... you have absolutely no idea how to work this thing.

But the hardware is too valuable to leave behind, so you have an idea. It's a Dominion vehicle, they won't stop you from walking it out of there before the charge goes off and all chaos breaks loose. The base's alleyways are too small for you, so you head for the bunker line.

>"Viking 3, report your status, over."
>"I'm, uh... just going to reinforce the front, sir."
>"Negative, resume your po- AUUUUUUUGGHHH!"

You're fortunate enough that the command center goes off - just as planned. The rebels charge the line, tanks blasting. You won't be able to walk out of this mess, so you do the only thing you can - you turn on one of the siege tanks, the massive guns of the viking more than enough to shred it.

I am in agreement.

HOWEVER. Since we obviously can't, as a whole, predict the outcomes of our plans we should be able to revise them as we go. The option really ought to have been to see if we could fly it and once we found out that we couldn't another vote should have been initiated.

Yes I know, not knowing if we can fly a thing means we obvious CAN'T but apparently the players cannot into reasonable inference.

You wake up. You're in the Daluke's medical bay. This time you're fortunate enough to have all your limbs. Doctor Lee walks over to you, realizing you've just sat up.

>"Am I going to start seeing you in here as often as Henderson, Commander?"
>"My... suit... Doctor?"
>"Well, we have Mac looking at it now, but... I'm not an engineer. I think you might've lost it."

Not the suit. You need that - your adjutant, all communications, stealth, psionics, everything depended on that suit...

>"I need to check."

You attempt to get up, a sharp pain in your side immediately stops you and forces you back down.

>"You don't need to do anything. You're going to be on bedrest for a few days. I'll let the XO know you're kicking, but don't try and go anywhere."

He hands you a tablet. It's been a while since you handled one. Normally your adjutant...

>"And sir, about the viking stunt."
>"What happened, XO?"
>"The second siege tank hit you from behind, sir. Ended up saving a lot of lives, but I don't think risks like that are worth it."

The XO relaxes, as he continues.

>"Sir, I understand you've made a lot of hard decisions, but if you're looking for a way out - I've seen it a lot. It doesn't end well. You'll get more people than yourself killed."

>Sell Excess 1458.5 supply for 364,625 Credits.
>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.
>Send a landing team to recruit from the civilian population.
>Explore weapons and schematics opportunities.

You take the time to consider your options. Carefully.
>>
>>25852303
same here, the retards being retards, and Adjutant letting them helm the shit has detracted all fun I once got from this, hopefully in a few weeks time when I go through the archives things will have improved, but for now? I just want to forget this quest ever existed
>>
>>25852311
Then why are you here?

You can't expect to just pop into a quest and fucking take it by the reins and expect smooth sailing
>>
>>25852321
Commit suicide. We're a failure. Barney would make a better Commander.
>>
>>25852303
Then fucking leave and stop bitching. This quest is going to die due to the ridiculous punishments anyway. They get presented with a choice between left or right. You can't see which way is right without turning. You turn left. Left has a wall of spikes. Instead of turning around you start running full speed into the spikes instead of turning around because you cannot make a second decision. That's not punishment. That's trying to kill your player because YOU think they're stupid. You think they're stupid because they don't think like YOU do.
>>
>>25852321
Just send the landing team to Jakibs installation

We need some engineers and scientist to check out our suit. Hope they can fix it...
>>
>>25852321
>let the XO handle everything we have already planned because we are fucking stuck in a bed recovering

Adjy, if you make us go through all that again, I will hunt you down and use your spinal fluid as tooth paste
>>
>>25852321
>>25852326
Fucking agreed. It's already over. Punishments are just going to get worse. We have no "Okay we can't do this now that we still can't remember it" option. Just let us kill ourselves so it's done.
>>
>>25852311
((That's kind of the point. You don't actually know. You can't be sure. The Adjutant is just an AI that provides what advice it can.))

>>25852320
((It'll get better, Delta Phoenix. You just have to BELIEVE.))

>>25852312
((Just need to delegate more choices to your NPCS. That's what the good people need to lobby for.

All this micro is kinda boring, and removing it would allow me to focus more on DP as a character.))
>>
Adjutant just to let you know I myself support you. I love this quest. Please do not listen to these mongoloids. Please continue this quest how you please
>>
>>25852321

We should sell our excess. Then check weapons and schematics. Hopefully they are selling ghost suits.

Every terran kid knows that you are a cherry before your first viking. The transformation between walker and flight can kill an untrained pilot. So thank god we didnt try to switch it.
>>
>>25852329
That isn't what happened at all.

Someone suggesting piloting the Viking, there were numerous points where people said that was a bad plan. They gave reasons why it was a bad plan. They pointed out all the flaws in the plan.

People did it anyway and are now whining about there being consequences.
>>
>>25852346
Honestly you're a huge bitch. I mean that. You literally rail roaded us into that tank shot. If we couldn't use the thing to fly present us with another vote.
>>
>>25852346
The thing is, most of our choices are made by retards who haven't played either Starcraft game or don't even bother to open the wiki.
>>
>>25852346
I do believe Adjy, I'm in this for the long haul, and ain't going no where.
>>
>>25852346
>The Adjutant is just an AI that provides what advice it can.
And railroads us into actions we should be able to chose whether or not to do
>>
>>25852353
People are pissed because after finding out we couldn't fly it we didn't get a 2nd vote. Instead we apparently thought it was a good idea to fight multiple tanks with it. That's why people are pissed. Trying to fly a viking you already need to disable isn't terrible. Trying to fight multiple tanks with something you now KNOW you don't know how to use is full retard. We don't even deserve to breathe. Just kill the fucking character. We're done here.
>>
>>25852346
((An unreliable narrator is not the way to run a quest here. Too many people come and go, we will never remember every detail. The Det charges and the piloting things are just the latest two examples))
>>
>>25852355
((You literally railroad yourself.

I rolled a 1d2 to see if you could pilot it. I rolled a d100 to see if you could shoot your way out on foot.

You got a 1 and a 28.

I'll offer 'abort mission I am fucking retarded' in the future, but I expected you guys to take the 'fight it out on foot' option even if I gave it to you, and you -know- it would've been the popular choice because robot with guns.))
>>
>>25852321
so I just woke up and wtf happened I don't even
>>
>>25852369
Exactly.

I'm sorry Adjutant you gotta do a better damn job at managing this. Give us more secondary options or else we're going to keep fucking up.
>>
>>25852372
((Then it's 2deep4u I guess.))
>>
>>25852375
Getting the option to might have changed things.
We'll never know now will we?

Really though we NEED the "I'm a fucking retard" button to abort.
>>
>>25852387
hear, hear!
>>
>>25852387
((If you have been paying attention apparently its 2deep4 the entirety of 4chan))
>>
>>25852375
Adjy's right guys

do you really think the idiots that thought trying to pilot the incredibly expensive and COMPLEX mind you, robot would've said "Gee wizz, we can't fly it? WELL IT HAS GUNS DON'T IT PEW PEW"
>>
>>25852377
Mongoloids have taken over this quest
>>
It's time to decide.

>Sell Excess 1458.5 supply for 364,625 Credits.
>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.
>Send a landing team to recruit from the civilian population.
>Explore weapons and schematics opportunities.
>>
>>25852375
>but I expected
This is your problem, the way you think is not the way I think, or the way any other anon thinks, we all think differently and you CANNOT for a single picosecond assume we understand the idea of something you have in your head, because no matter what you do, we will think about it differently in our heads

and frankly, you thinking we think like you and know what you know is getting insulting
>>
>>25852398
Then i guess its a little to deep4u to realize your'e fucking retarded
>>
>>25852399
The idiots are the core of the issue here though. They're the ones who are making the bad decisions and getting our shit wrecked.
>>
>>25852400
> GookClick
>Mongoloid
Pick 2
>>
>>25852405
>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.
>>
>>25852375
I'm sorry that you don't think it's railroading. A lot of people here do. The retard button is pretty much mandatory on tg. I think this is a great quest concept, I really do, but the problem is exactly what
>>25852407
said.
>>
>>25852405
>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.
fuck me, we need something simple to stop the retards thinking too hard
>>
>>25852375
They would have. They're only bitching now because they were punished for being dumb.
>>
>>25852405
Yes?

We have multiple transports at this point and we're DOCKED to a trade station.
>>
>>25852405
>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.

pretty much

>>25852412
I wonder why the trolls keep on insulting me, I don't respond and I never will. I will also never leave. Muhahahaha.

>>
>>25852419
Honestly I think this is something that needs worked out.

>>25852413
They are, it's like we're here trying to read a good book, and other people randomly run up and doodle penises and balls on our page.

>Sell Excess 1458.5 supply for 364,625 Credits.
>Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.
>>
>>25852426
oh god, Red agreed with me, I must kill myself now
>>
>>25852437
Congrats, you are clearly the superior being. You are the greatest around. Everyone should think exactly like you.

Well that's not how it works. Fuck you.
>>
>>25852407
((If you're saying my expectation was wrong I'm going to disagree with you. But I'll concede that maybe I was and that I'll put in a big red "fuck I need to abort" button in the future, in the vain hope that someone goes "oh well this is bad."))
>>
>>25852426
You just responded.

Look, I like you. But you gotta learn to keep your head down. It gets to the point that your presence is a derailing influence in and of itself. And yes you are in complete control of that, you can take your name off at any point to let things die down. The voting system of the quest means that you don't need to worry about others construing your posts as coming from multiple persons because when it comes down to it you CAN'T have your opinion can't for more than it should due to misunderstanding.
>>
>>25852443
wut? Of course I agreed with you. You made sense. Adjutant is running into a common GM problem. He think his players can read his mind.

Noted it before.
>>
>>25852443
>>25852426
I hope this isn't going to turn into the OH NO SNAPPLE SAID SOMETHING SO IT MUST BE BAD debacle.
>>
we're almost at 1200 posts and on page 7, might want to make a new thread soon
>>
>>25852453
It's basically what we need...I'm sorry but we aren't going to get much better than this.
>>
>>25852451
That's not what I said at all. But when people are making decisions to do risky all the time, even when the reward is poor at best, then I think I have a right to be mad.
>>
>>25852460
I hope my suggestions never grow to his level. urgh he was just plain awful.
>>
Adjutant what happened when we were knocked out?

Any casualties on our side?

What was the resistance reaction to our presence?

You take a break before issuing the order. The grief of the potential loss of your suit overwhelms you.
>>
>>25852453
Just because we've failed to use it the two or possibly three times in the past doesn't mean we wouldn't have used it this time, right guys? ...Right?

But seriously I DO think we'd have bailed this time.
>>
>>25852473
As you ask these questions and hear no response, you think to yourself...

I miss my suit.
>>
>>25852491
Right...we can't ask adjutant. We have no fucking suit.
>>
>>25852491
Can we get brain surgery to remove the stupid from our brains?
>>
>>25852491
I like you.
>>
>>25852453
Its not your expectation that was wrong, its how you came to that expectation.

If I was in the same position as you, with the information you have, I would have likely came to the same expectation, but I am not, and cannot.

You need to understand that the only way we can be brought around to think the way you think, is for you to present the information in such a way we can discover it and understand it for ourselves.

I once wrote something that helped another QM with this issue, let me find it
>>
>>25852451
He voted against the stupidity of flying the Viking which puts him above a lot of the people in this thread.
>>
>>25852474
I'm just thankful we didn't lose our legs.

I think the average is 40% of Viking Pilots have their legs ripped off during transformation.
>>
>>25852518
I'd rather have fucking robo legs than no suit.
>>
>>25852513
here we go

--------

The problem is that its only a clever plan to your mind, who knows how different you think compared to us, you cannot ever assume that one of your players will understand something you put in the game unless you put yourself in their shoes and go through it as they would. As a game designer this is probably the hardest thing I have to deal with, making players understand my designs as if they discovered them as their own, that fine line between feeding it to them by spoon, and making it impossibly obscure to find.

This is one thing novels and other forms of written literature get around, because there is not interaction on the readers behalf, they interpret it as their own version, their own discovery, and it never matters if its different to what the author intended.

But the moment you have someone interact with your design, unless you understand the inner intimate working or your players mind, you cannot ever assume anything without it going spectacularly badly, for all parties involved.
>>
We go to Mac and talk about the situation about the suit

But before that we fucking wear something
>>
>>25852525
At this point, we don't even deserve clothes.
>>
>>25852525
>But before that we fucking wear something
good point

quick, check out our body in a mirror
>>
>>25852526
>>
>>25852522
I wouldn't. The suit boosts the hell out of our physiology, but not of robo legs. Getting the suit fixed SHOULD be easier than replacing our legs properly. Short term/long term disabling, basically.
>>
>>25852524
Except people pointed out the glaring and utterly obvious flaws in the plan and others still voted for it.
