LAST TIME ON GUNDAM AGE QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Gundam+AGE+Quest
Check My twitter for updates and reschedules: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

Your name is Dirk Crocker and you are currently aboard the LEVIATHAN Taskforce Flagship “DAGON” and have just met the leader of LEVIATHAN, Grodek Ainoa. However he’s apparently using an alias at the moment…a very, very stupid alias. So stupid in fact the moment “Alan Recto” was said you burst out laughing and have been rolling on the floor, barely able to breath for the past 5 minutes.

Having just gotten to your feet you look around at Asemu, Yurika, Akito and then back to “Alan” and see they didn’t find it all that funny.

Quick! How will you handle this situation and avoid making yourself look like a fool?

(Going to take a shower and hit the bank, might be a bit before I can reply)
>>
Fuck yeah, Gundam AGE Quest!

"Sorry about that, sir. I... I just remembered something really stupid. It's not really that important. I... I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
If he insists, tell him it's a really inappropriate joke that somehow fits to this whole situation you are in.
>>
>>25836461
"Sorry. You ever have one of those moments where you're so nervous that you're going to break down hysterically? It was either laugh or have a panic attack, sir. I apologize for the disturbance. I guess I'm still kind of rattled from the fight. Combined with meeting the Commander of Leviathan, and well, you can see where I'm coming from."
>>
>>25836957
Seconding.
If he asks why are we so nervous, answer that we really didn't have any proper training and that we were basically drafted into the military three days ago. That, and that this was too close a call.
>>
>>25836461
"What? Don't give me that look. Fine, maybe I overreacted, but it was a pretty funny joke. I mean, the most infamous military commander of the century 'hiding his identity' with a hat and a silly name? That's priceless, sir. I've heard stories about your leadership but never about your trolling. It's an honor to meet you, Commander Ainoa."
>>
>>25836957
"Sorry. You ever have one of those moments where you're so nervous that you're going to break down hysterically? It was either laugh or have a panic attack, sir. I apologize for the disturbance. I guess I'm still kind of rattled from the fight. Combined with meeting the Commander of Leviathan, and well, you can see where I'm coming from." You say in an honest tone, Grodek stares back at you stone faced but understanding of the situation.

"It's perfectly understandable considering you have no proper training and have had to fight an elite Vagan X-Rounder team twice so far. However the fact your even alive is a testament to your hidden potential. That is why I asked you and Asemu to join my briefing if Yurika and Akito about our issue..." Grodek fishes a cigar from his desk and lights it up, smoking it while he pauses.

"We are a large scale task-force dedicated to the protection of Earth from invasion by any means necessary. However I believe there are those who plot to use this organization as a means to take control of the Earth Federation. Our total manpower and resources make the weakened standard forces look like nothing and the fact we have jurisdiction over anything regarding the Vagan it would make resisting us if we were to go rogue very difficult. At the moment I don't know who responsible for this, however I know they are interested in pilots who show extraordinary combat abilities, not just X-Rounders but those who have a natural affinity for piloting." Grodek lets out a heavy sigh, blowing smoke across his desk.

"Wait, you brought Asemu and Dirk here to be bait?" Yurika asks.

(cont)
>>
>>25837228
"Yes, but I assure you I have no intention of risking their lives. The Diva is going to be sent to our Lunar Base to provide additional support their until we can relocate assets to assist in it's defense. I believe that these rogue agents will attempt to recruit one of you into their group. However I will send my own agents along to watch over you and make the arrest when they do raise their heads. Everything should work out fine, even if complications arise I don't believe they would kill you, your only valuable to them alive." Grodek states as Akito shakes his head.

"This sounds very risky. How do you know they want them alive, or want them at all?" Akito demands.

"Because their fathers, are individuals of great importance. Even if Asemu is adopted it's obvious he's developed or inherited something great. Besides these Rogues have the same intel and data I do, maybe more. So if I know your prime candidates, they do. Now I would like to ask you to help me in this operation. If you choose not to it will put a lot of things on the line, maybe your own life. So please, will you work with me and my agents to catch these Rogues?"

Well Dirk?
>>
>>25837290
"Sir, our current objective is to deliver the high-priority Vagan prisoner aboard the Diva to Big Ring for further processing by order of Admiral Asuno. Are we to abort that mission, or are we to reallocate to Luna base immediately after that?"

"And permission to speak freely, sir?"
"If there are rogue agents in LEVIATHAN, there are probably some on Big Ring as well. For all we know, they are waiting for us there to deliver the prisoner, which is something we can use to set up a trap. After that, we can move to Luna base - it's merely a delay of a couple hours in the plan, which should mean nothing to them if they're planing on recruiting us."
>>
>>25837290
"Okay, I'm in. It's not like I can just leave the Diva now, anyway. If I'm going to be there, I might as well have backup, right?"

Also, from an out of character standpoint I just want to go to the moon. It should make for a nice change of pace from space battles. The lunar landscape should make for fun high-speed combat. All ducking behind mountains and jumping over craters and whatnot.
>>
>>25837481
"You are too reallocate to Luna base immediately after that. I don't want you touting around that high priority prisoner any longer then you have too."

"Like I said, when you leave here my agents will be following you, weather you see them or not. If they make a move during the prisoner transport, then we'll try to arrest them. If they try to do it during the Luna base move then we'll arrest then then. All that's important is that you don't go running off and doing something stupid. When you leave this room you will not breath a word of this conversation. If anyone asks why I talked to you, tell them I was chewing you out and warning you to stay out of our way, and in Akito and Yurika's case not doing their jobs properly. Sounds reasonable considering the situation no? So, do you understand and wish to participate?" Grodek asks again.

(I've got to run to the store, I'll probably be back in a half an hour/hour)
>>
>>25837629
Weren't we supposed to drop off Zeheart to Flit and have Asemu's reunion with his true father? Also, we need to discuss with Flit the nanotech AGE builder.
We might find out that Solon City is actually working for the Vagan or something of that scale.

As for the moon, fuck yeah, it's going to be fun.
>>
>>25837653
"Sir yes sir. Understood."
>>
>>25837653
"I'm in. Short of leaving the Diva right now and heading straight back to Zarth I can't see anything that would keep me from interacting with potential provocateurs. But Scarlet, Mom and Commander Aldrick should have the colony cluster well in hand. I can do more to help here. Besides, it's not like I'm going to be at any LESS risk for having your agents along, right?"
>>
>>25837716
There are still ways we can do that. Besides, with the hints we've been getting it's entirely possible that one of Grodek's agents is going to be Emily in disguise. Plenty of room for dramatic Asemu revelations there.
>>
>>25837825
True. She gets aboard as a doctor, but that's only one agent. I guess Vargas is alive and kicking.
And maybe Yunoa, if Flit knew that Emily is alive (which he probably did, considering how Grodek takes orders from him).
>>
>>25837784
Let's go with this.
>>
>>25837784

"Right. I'm glad your willing to work with us Dirk. I may have not had the pleasure of speaking with your father for a couple of years, but I've heard he's grown into a fine man. I see now his children still have inherited a lot of that spirit of his. Despite our pleasant conversation, make sure to address or make it seem like I was pressuring you not to get involved on our affairs. Is that clear?"

"Crystal" You and Asemu say with a nod as the door is opened.

"Good. Now GET OUT." Grodek yells the last part are you are roughly ushered out of the room by two guards and are escorted back to the shuttle.

The whole way the four of you make sure to act upset and agitated, occasionally muttering an obscene comment about "Recto".

Nothing too big or angst, but your anger is obvious enough to fool any observers that the conversation with "Recto" was anything but pleasant.

You arrive back at the ship and are given some free time to rest and do what you wish. It'll be another 2 hours before you reach Big Ring alongside the Dagon.

What do you wish to do Dirk?
>>
>>25839385
Let's call up mom and Scarlet, see what's going on.
Then, let's see what's wrong with Asemu and if the new Leviathan agents are aboard.
>>
>>25839484
You pull out your phone and speed dial Mom. This time you actually connect and are relieved to hear her voice.

"Mom? Is everything OK over there?"

"Somewhat. Scarlet is the commander now and...well let me explain..." She fills you in on everything, Aldrick leaving, rebuilding the base, recruiting new troops and those weird spider thing attacking.

"Any word from Dad?" Mom asks, worry in her voice.

"No Mom. I haven't heard a peep. I'm going to assume you haven't ether? Well he is on the Vagan home-world, it's not like he can make a collect call or something. I'm sure Dad is fine." You say, trying to reassure Mom.

"Yeah, I'm just worried he's having to eat ground up human flesh or something...Bah, I'm probably just worrying too much. I'll talk to you when I get the chance."

"Tell Scarlet I love her and not to stress herself out." You say your goodbyes and head off to find Asemu. Checking his bunk you find he's trying to get some shut eye.

He looks up at you, seeming to be half-asleep.

"Yeah? What is it?" He asks somewhat grouchily.

Well Dirk? How will you approach your friend about the incident in the hallway.
>>
>>25839976
"Nothing much, just wanna shoot some shit with you. About all this shit."
"Us getting dragged into some Federation-wide conspiracy, Scarlet being made commander of Zarth, dad being on Vagan, Zeheart being a spy, stopping a colony drop... Man, these last couple of days were insane. How are you holding up?"
>>
>>25839976
"Just wanted to give you the news from back home. I just called Mom and shit is getting weird there. For one thing, Scarlet now outranks everyone in either of our families. Also, a spaceship made of robotic spiders attacked Zarth colony. The world is getting very strange very fast, you know? Hopefully we won't wind up with anything crazy dramatic happening to us.

"What's that look for? What, did something happen? You know you can talk to me if you need to."
>>
>>25840284
"Or I can call Akito over. Or Yurika, she'd bug you until you confess everything ever."
>>
>>25840084
"Nothing much, just wanna shoot some shit with you. About all this shit. Us getting dragged into some Federation-wide conspiracy, Scarlet being made commander of Zarth, dad being on Vagan, Zeheart being a spy, stopping a colony drop... Man, these last couple of days were insane. How are you holding up?"

"I'm OK I guess. I can't lie that some of this stuff isn't getting to me. I mean Zeheart, one of my closest friends turning out to be a Vegan spy? It's more then a little upsetting. However it's nice to be with Mom and Dad finally. No more what happens, as long as they are around you don't have to worry about me going crazy" Asemu laughs and lies back down on his bed.

>>25840284
"So what was that look for back in the hallway? I mean people have bumped into you before but you never made THAT look..." You raise an eyebrow and look Asemu over as he appears to get upset.

"Nothing. The women looked familiar that's all..."

"Who did she look like?" You press him, trying to figure out what's the matter.

"Does it really matter?" He leans up in bed and glares at you.

"Yeah it does Asemu. Who did she look like?" You glare back and the two of you sit in silence, staring each other down until he speaks.

"Like my Mom Dirk. Like my DEAD Mom. Now can you go? I'm tired and want to get some sleep before we're attacked again..." Asemu lays back and closes his eyes, ether to avoid further questioning, honestly get some sleep or a bit of both.

What do you want to do Dirk?
>>
>>25841252
Wanna totally go find her and see why she looks like Emily? Maybe she's your long lost sister, or your mom's reincarnation or something. At the very least, you'll have an interesting, slightly touching story you can tell her that'll make her interested.
>>
>>25841252
"I'm sorry man. I didn't know. Fuck. I won't bug you about that, I was just worried about you."

Let's work on something. It'd help us clear our head until we get to Big Ring.
Or let's try to convince Woolf to give us some proper training.
>>
>>25841252
"Sorry. I didn't realize it was something like that. I was just worried, thought it was something you needed to talk about. But yeah, I can understand if you don't want to. I'll leave you to your sleep, then. See you in the morning."

And then we go to the engineering bay to work off some stress by building shit. Maybe get better acquainted with Dique and Remi. Maybe ask them if they can think of anything to help us deal with the tension building among the combat crew. Dique would at least want to know more about Asemu. He's not blind to how his daughter's acting.

Yeah, I guess we could make some upgrades for the Adeles around here. Something like pic related, perhaps?
Speaking of Arisa, we should apologize properly to her. Like making her and Asemu a dinner.
>>
>>25841622
Agreed. Knowing her personality she probably doesn't really care that much about our stupid first impression, but Dirk doesn't know that. Still a good idea to do something nice, provided we don't wind up seeming sycophantic in the process. Maybe her dad will have some ideas. At the very least Dique will probably think it's funny. "Oh yeah, that fat little daughter of mine sure has a temper, doesn't she? You're lucky. You got off without a testicular hernia. Wish I could say that about more people..."
>>
>>25841365
"Sorry. I didn't realize it was something like that. I was just worried, thought it was something you needed to talk about. But yeah, I can understand if you don't want to. I'll leave you to your sleep, then. See you in the morning." You nod apologetically and decide to back off the subject.

"Thanks Dirk. I can understand you being worried but...some stuff I just don't want to talk about..."

You leave him be and leave to find Arisa and maybe work on some upgrades for the Adele. After some looking around you run into her in the pilot lounge with Max and Obright, playing some poker.

"Hey Dirk, want to play?" She asks.

Well Dirk? What do you wish to do?
>>
>>25841824
"Sure, why not. I was thinking on making some stuff for the Adeles, but yeah, I'll play."
"Hit me. What do you guys want on your suits?"
>>
>>25841824
"Sure. Standard poker rules, or are we getting fancy?"

At some point during the game we should ask if anyone wants upgrades now that we've got access to the AGE Builder. Max and Arisa have Adeles, so we can mod the hell out of those with any AGE-1 wears. Obright would be harder, but that would give him an excuse to hang out with Remi while she works on the mods.

Also, we must explain to Max the curse of the pineapple salad. This is essential. We can't let him risk himself like this.

Well, for Obright we can end up with the Genoace Custom. Advanced sensors, some increased computing power, basically make him the forward tactical unit that analyzes data and coordinates his team. Maybe ask Yurika for tips - apparently her Gundam is both that and an all-round suit, and she favors minimalist designs that aren't too bulky, but get the job marvelously done.
>>
>>25842000
Oh, that's definitely what we should aim for. Anything that allows X-Rounder shanking has to be something worth building. I just mean that his Genoace 3 doesn't have the swappable parts that the Adeles do, making it harder to modify.. That's what you get for building from scratch and not just copying the AGE-1.

"Sure. Standard poker rules, or are we getting fancy?"

"Standard rules. Most of us suck anyway so we're just playing for pocket change." Arisa explains, holding up on of the measly credit chip she has in a small pile in front of her.

You sit down, drop whatever change you have on you onto the table and play around for a bit. After explaining 'death flags' to everyone, noting marriage and Pineapples too Obright and Max.

Eventually, after losing most of your change to Arisa you bring up the topic of customization and modifications.

"I'm fine with my suit." Obright says with a shrug. "Better then my Genoace II. The Genoace III is a prototype but it's got better armor, better reaction time, better sensors, greater mobility and a greater overall performance then the Genoace II. It's basically a custom suit"

"I could use a custom wear. I really liked that Razor Wear I heard about. However it's not in normal production." Arisa complains.

"I like the Titus Wear, but it could use physical spikes, an better sensors, and a heat sword too!" Max suggests, obviously having a liking for the Titus.

Your thoughts on their wants/suggestions Dirk?

True. Well, at least it's based on Woolf's old suit, so it won't be that hard to modify. Hell, if nothing else, it'd give him more time to spend with Remy.

As for Arisa and Max, they're both favoring ranged combat, with Max trying his best to learn some melee moves. So I'm guessing something like this?
Shoulder-mounted vulcan cannon for rapid fire - ineffective against heavier suits but it should slow them down or damage their sensors, and a beam rifle on the other shoulders for heavy damage in a single shot. They are reactor fed, so they are pretty powerful and can fire for a while. And those things on the sides are grenade holders.
>>
>>25842297
"Sounds pretty good. I've got the data for the Razor so that could be fabbed up pretty quick. The modded Titus would take longer, though not much. I might make some more modifications to it, too. My sister and I have been working on an enhanced beam emitter for defense systems as well as offense. I should actually rig up some for all the units, actually. I made one for Asemu and it's worked pretty well so far."
>>
>>25842297
Physical spikes get in the way of joint rotation, heat sword isn't quite as good as a beam sword, but I suppose we can get a physical sword-beam emitter shotlancer equivalent.

A flashbang system would be a good addition if Max is planning to go melee, and there's always the possibility of mounting a bayonet on a beam shotgun.

Also, has anyone decided to make DODS gatling shotguns yet? 'cause I wanna try that.
>>
>>25842297
"The Razor is a powerhouse in melee, but it's a nightmare to pilot if you're not a ridiculously powerful X-Rounder and an ace."
"That guy, Akito? He's piloting it, and according to him, it's insanely hard. And this is the guy who's able to cut EM bolts with it midair."
"I have the blueprints for it somewhere, so I'll see what I can do about that."

"As for the Titus, sounds okay. It'd be a while to be properly change the beam emitters into something like vibro heat blades, but it can be done."
"Though those things would only add additional weight, and would get a bit in the way of movement. Maybe something like DODS shotguns instead?"
"And an integrated flashbang system, just in case you need to get away, fast."

"Weird, I thought you guys are favoring ranged combat."
>>
>>25842534
Nah, we've got the data from Bisidian's suits. Including the G-Xiphos. The heat sword on that is better than regular beam sabers. We could Excalibuster it up if you want to make a hybrid range/melee weapon, though.
>>
>>25842610
Excalibuster whip swords?
>>
>>25842619
I don't think we have the Snake Sword yet, but that would be pretty badass. Let's remember that for if we ever run into Wivik.

Those things are fucking awesome.
But yeah, we should use whatever tech we have available, including Bisidian tech - so the high-powered heat sword is a viable option at the moment.
>>
>>25842610
M'kay, that would change things, but still, physical weapons are bloody annoying to use and store.

Anyone want to try making an EM disruptor system? We've got the theory behind the DODS rifle and that reduces the effectiveness of the EM armour somehow, so is it possible to extend that phenomenon into a large scale one?
>>
The Razor wear is probably the closest any AG mobile suit comes to handling like a valkyrie.

I guess the control scheme difference is like round hole, square peg thing making things unnecessarily more difficult.

It just occurred to me that if we combine their ideas we might end up with the Starks but with more blades on it.
Which is pretty cool.

>>25842805
I think the AGE builder is nearly complete with making the Hyper DODS rifle. But that's just increasing the damage output, not dealing with the actual problem of the EM shielding. I was thinking of adding something that'd ionize the DODS blast so that it pierces right through the shield and fries the systems upon impact.
>>
>>25842907
No, ionizing it wouldn't help, charged particles are easier to deflect. Well, it's probably already made of charged particles, but no need to increase the charge. No, we want to neutralize it. Passing the beam through a screen of plasma of the opposite charge should cause it to pick up charge carriers and become neutral. EM Armor will then be useless against it. We'll still fry the electronics by braking radiation creating charges within the mobile suit as it blasts electrons free from their orbits. And it would be a muzzle attachment that we could theoretically attach to any DODS Rifle we already have. We should experiment with that. We can probably start by basing it off the beam shield tech.

"The Razor's a bit hard to handle since it was designed to be used by an X-Rounder, but with some modifications it should work pretty well. There is another design we could try, would you be open for me experimenting a little Arisa?" You ask, thinking about the Stark Wear designs Dad's Test Team was working with.

"Sure, as long as my suit doesn't blow up." Arisa shrugs, having very little in terms of technical knowledge and relative trust in you.

"As for you Max, a heat sword, some physical spikes and some upgrades shouldn't too hard to handle. But why a physical sword Max?"

"Because a beam emitter can short out or run out of power. Even if a heat sword can't heat up, it can still fuck a suit up. I don't like having to rely on batteries and generators for protection unless I have a backup." Max states simply.

"Alright. I'll get to work on things. See you later guys..."

After losing the rest of your spare change to Arisa you wander off towards the hanger, your idea abuzz with new engineering ideas. Do you wish to go to the hanger and begin your work or do you want to do something or see someone else?

Well Dirk?
>>
>>25843109
Nice idea. That'd probably have to wait till we get to either Big Ring or the Luna base, I doubt that the Diva has the resources or the labs to test that thing out properly.
Then again, we do have the AGE Builder aboard.

Also, the beam tech we use in our weapons so far is plasma-based, right?
We could try out photon weapons as well - they aren't magnetized, so the EM armor would be useless against them, and they'd deal considerable damage.
>>
>>25843109
And since all the Vagan suits have self destructs in them, it'll either set them off or disable them (along with every other system in the suit).

Fund it.
>>
>>25843202
Let's go engineering. Introduce ourselves to Dique, see if Yurika is up for some engineering. I doubt that Akito would be of any use with his broken arm, but he could give us some input on the Razor, considering he's piloting it.
>>
>>25843209
At the moment laser weapons are huge, power-inefficient things. Though by Gen 3 they'll be mobile suit-portable, they still won't be common. Maybe we can accelerate tech development so everyone's using them by midway through Gen 3, instead of just the AGE-3 and AGE-FX getting them.
>>
>>25843345
Yeah, maybe as anti-ship weapons.

>>
>>25846993
With the way the Razor wear handles, it's probably a good analogue to something out of Macross pre-VF-25, but without the thrust to weight ratio. More like the touchiness or sensitivity.

Actually, that handling description is pretty apt for the Fubuki/Shiranui/Takemikazuchi from Muv-Luv . Very twitchy and sensitive due to high use of control surfaces compared to thrust?

Meaning you need to make new sets of balance correction data just for it + each type of MS using the wear.
>>
>>25852631
Yeah, the Clanche was mostly piloted by veterans and aces, so I guess it's going to require considerable optimization if it's going to see mass-use.
As for something made out of the Razor, it probably needs advanced software to compensate for the lack of X-Rounder prowess in the pilot.
