LAST TIME ON GUNDAM AGE QUEST:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Gundam+AGE+Quest

Check my Twitter for Updates/Reschedules: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

Your name is Jake Crocker and you are currently at the homeworld of your enemies, Vagan. By using time travel to get to mars in a matter of minutes, appeasing some kind of other dimensional elder god by giving it oder eaters (you are still wondering if it was just a hallucination caused by the time traveling process) and scouting around the outside of the colony a bit, you've found a good place to hide the ship and enter the colony.

After having Zeal lay down some identity sensitive proximity mines in the hallway of the maintenance hangar you’re going to be using to enter the colony as well as setting some bombs to cripple the colony in case you need to escape you intercepted a couple of outgoing transmissions and eventually found the data on the Gallettes location using your Dataminer.

At the moment you are in the process of setting up false identities for everyone, including yourself. However you’re going to need some good false names. Any ideas Jake?
>>
Yazan Gable.
What the hell, better than anything I can come up with.

We should also ask Desil to teach us some Vagan customs, so we don't immediately appear as foreigners.
>>
Char Amuro.
Ed Nygma.
Dis Iznogud.
>>
>>25737577
Tetra Labaia.

Okay, no, I shouldn't just make Quattro Bajeena jokes. Vagan names seem to use a lot of "z", "l" and "ah" sounds. So Yazan Gable is actually a pretty good alias to use. I'll put my vote to that.
>>
>>25738050
We should check some names for the rest of the crew as well.

Speaking of that, whom should we take down with us? Desil comes as our guide and somebody who's going to teach us the customs and manners of the colony, but who else? Carlos and Rena, maybe Daiki, while the rest stay behind on the ship?
>>
Our allies.

If only to confuse the people who try to coordinate our death.
"Our allies headed down that hall!"
>>
>>25738133
Okay, let's scramble up some canon Vagan names real quick.

Desil: Leo Roden
Carlos: Zel Anon
Rena: Mink Nara
Daiki: Zafar Khan

That work for everyone?
>>
>>25738282
Works fine for me.
>>
Do we have some clothes that we can use to better infiltrate the colony?
I doubt that the Genoriders would do us much good if we ride them out on the streets.

After talking amongst your allies and some very odd suggestions ranging from amusing to downright stupid you compile a list of names and build false identities around everyone using these new names.

You: Yazan Gable
Desil: Leo Roden
Carlos: Zel Anon
Rena: Mink Nara
Daiki: Zafar Khan
Alfred Fornell: Forthe Winnz
Jessica Spriggan: Maka Sproink
Zeal Minseal: Zim Ealeal

While Ma G is slipping your new identities into the Vagan system you have Desil teach you some things about the Vagan culture.

"It's been years, but the best you can do to go unnoticed is to look miserable. Laughter, smiles, any kind of happiness is considered a rare genuine moment of happiness or a sign you're totally psychotic. Ether way, any kind of positiveness will get you noticed real quick. If you look or act depressed or miserable, you'll blend right in." He goes over a few other things, like not speaking out against Ezelcant in public, pickpockets and the rampant crime, and so on.

>>25738445
You bring up the problem of clothes and Desil agrees with you.

"Clothes are going to be an issue. People on Vagan dress in an unusual fashion compared to clothes worn on Earth and in the Earth Colonies. The best way I can describe it is almost 'neo-medieval' with a twist of lots of other things. They aren't made from regular clothe, most of the clothes are made from low grade plastic and human hair. I'm sure we can throw something together that looks similar to the clothing, but the materials won't be the same." Desil explains

"Well that shouldn't be an issue unless people get all touchy feeley and start to examine what our clothes are made of. As long as we make them look similar it should be fine for the time being." Rena stares out the bridge window.

"What about the Genoriders?" Alfred asks.

"I don't think we'll be able to ride them around without getting noticed. We'll have to sneak them in somehow. Any ideas Jake?"
>>
>>25738568
Okay, we could use some fabric (tarps?) we have around to make clothes. They'll be itchy, but they'll do the trick.
As for getting in, is there a entrance to the living sections? I guess we could highjack a shuttle going home - they enter the IUS, we take them prisoners, and take the shuttle back to the living hub. Hey, we could even steal their clothes.
>>
>>25738647
That could work. We'd have to be careful about them getting an alert off before we catch them, though. Do we have any jamming capabilities? If so, we should set a jamming field to the same radius as the IUS and have some of our mobile suit complement fly alongside the ship while we edge towards a lone shuttle. Our suits grab it, we take it back to the Treasure Star and have the rest of our team waiting in the hangar to secure the shuttle with the Genoriders. Only problem would be a shuttle suddenly vanishing then reappearing fifteen minutes later could cause some suspicion. Maybe we can get a shuttle moving through one of the radiator zones, so that they wouldn't be on sensors anyway.

Also, it would mean we'd have to leave someone behind to guard the ship so the captured Vagans don't escape and seize control. Probably Daiki, as he's the one most worried about what the Treasure Star could do. Someone else, too. I'd say Jessica, because she's the one who the laws of drama say are least threatened by prisoner escape. Much less risk than the weird guy, the black guy, the father, the love interest or either of the team leaders. Jake has gotten very attuned to the power of dramatic stereotype over the years.
>>
>>25738737
Well, we definitely need someone to stay behind, and this is Daiki's ship, after all. He and Jessica could stay behind.

I don't know, I'd rather not move in a larger group than needed be. And having just two people aboard would be dangerous - Jessica is still a kid.
We could lock the passengers in a safe compartment somewhere and knock them out, but we should have at least somebody to guard them.
So, Jessica, Daiki, Duke, Alfred and Zeal stay behind, while Jake, Desil (he's mandatory), Carlos and Rena go down to the planet.

We should grab a shuttle moving along the radiator lines.
We cause a small malfunction in the nearby maintenance shaft, forcing them to send a small shuttle over, and we snatch it.
>>
>>25738960
Actually, problem with this plan.
If we hijack the shuttle, we need to alter the passengers' IDs as well, or they'll figure us out when the shuttle drops off different people than it left with.
You know, we become the passengers.
>>
So, rivals for Asemu, Dirk and Scarlet? Did we decide on those?
>>
>>25739044
>>25738960
>>25738647
Problem with the shuttle plan is that you need to wait for a shuttle to return from another colony. There's not a whole lot of traffic save for cargo ships carrying raw materials and food from the smaller agricultural colonies in the Mars Sphere. Not a whole lot of personal shuttles leave Vagan. Resources are precious here, not a whole lot of people move between the colonies for any reason other then worker transfers and that's usually in the event of expansion or the death of a lot of workers, at least that's what Desil's come to believe.

So you'll have to figure out another way in.
>>
>>25739219
Is there another entrance to the habitation center?
Perhaps a maintenance hatch or something. I doubt that they keep a close eye on those things (all of their forces are grouped near those two military structures), and if we find one, we could end up inside.
>>
>>25739262
Like the maintenance hatch you've had access to this whole time? The one where you hid your Data Miner and had Zeal set up identity sensitive proximity mines. Yeah. The security is non existent besides a few minor systems Ma G has on loop. The Vagan's aren't expecting an invasion or infiltration without months of warning time.

All you have to do is throw on the Genoriders, or space suits and make your way into the colony. Problem is you have no idea where the maintenance will lead you. It could land you in the military section or the civilian section.
>>
>>25739314
Excuse me. Maintenance Hanger, not hatch.
>>
>>25739314
I guess there's no other way than to go in and explore, is there?
We couldn't make one camera drone we'd send out instead of risking our ass?

Let's make the clothes first. We will use the Genoriders to check that thing out.
>>
>>25739376
You could throw together a camera drone or two to scout around.

After some fiddling around you throw together a couple functioning drones using what little scrap electronics you had left over from building the dataminer. You realize you don't have a lot of stuff to use to build stuff outside of the raw AGE Builder Ingots and the spare parts used to fix up the systems of the ship.

>The Treasure Star is now barren of scrap materials for projects

Flying them out to look around in the tunnels. The four drones can function in and out of gravity and have enough power and fuel to function for several hours.

With Ma G's assistance you build a map of the confusing maintenance tunnel network that appears to spread throughout the colony. The lack of security is very questionable at first, until you realize that all the entrances into the tunnels from inside of the colony are heavily reinforced. You'd need high explosives or excellent hacking skills to open them. Thankfully you have both and the quieter of the two methods is easy with Ma G's help.

"This network of tunnels, shafts and ducts leads all over Vagan." Ma G deduces as the drones speed through the maze.

"Do you think they'd lead to or under Ezelcan't castle?" You ask.

"That is a possibility. However even if they don't directly lead to the castle's interior, I'm sure digging or cutting a tunnel should not be too difficult."

"Yeah, why bother with the front or the back door when you can make your own?" Carlos chimes in.

The mapping will take at least 2 hours, but you'll have a fully detailed map of the Vagan maintenance tunnel network. Once you have the results you'll be able to make your away around the colony without being seen.

>>
>>25740659
However what do you wish to do? You still don't know about the state of the colony or the civilians itself. Maybe it might be a good idea to send a team to investigate the colony while another team scopes out a possible backdoor into Ezelcan't Castle.

However the decision is up to you. What do you want to do Jake?
>>
>>25740666
Let's get things going, we're slower than molasses.
We need two teams, one to investigate the colony, one for scouting the tunnels. The team scouting for the backdoor should take the Genoriders just in case, but stealth is the top priority. The other team should investigate the colony itself.

The team for investigating the backdoor: Rena, Carlos, Zeal. The best guys - we have a demo expert, a tech expert, and an experienced fighter in case shit gets down.

The team for the colony - Jake, Desil, Carlos.

Daiki and the rest should remain behind with the Treasure Star and serve as the coordinator.
>>
>>25740813
Shit, that should be Rena, Alfred, Zeal.

After assigning everyone to a team and dealing with Duke who was pissed that he had to stay behind with the ship, you and the others suit up and head out. Leaving the ship and floating to the maintenance hangar where you and the other split up.

“Remember everyone this is reconnaissance. Let’s not draw too much attention to ourselves and try to learn as much as we can.”

After reminding them, Rena, Zeal and Alfred leave You, Desil and Carlos by yourselves. After a few minutes of floating and walking to through the tunnels, you make your way into the pressurized gravity block and find a manhole of sorts to exit. Stripping your Genoriders and hiding them in a loose panel, you ascend the ladder leading to the manhole and open it with Ma G’s help.

Sticking your head up, you check to see if the coast is clear and motion for everyone to follow. Once everyone is topside you look around, checking your Vagan clothes to make sure the three of you look presentable before gazing around.

The colony seems…alien. The buildings are simple, made from Martian Stone and with a little bit of metal in their construction. They seem almost utilitarian in nature, simple and designed solely for that purpose without any color or flare to it.

People walk by going about their daily business and avoiding any real eye contact with one another. The occasional cough and hacking fit can be heard from a vender across the street who looks rather ill.

Behind you there is the faint sound of scuffling dirt and shouts. Sounds like kids.

What do you wish to do Jake? What would you like to investigate?
>>
>>25741282
Let's go down that street, see how they live and such, what are they selling and so on. Find what looks like the richer parts, and go towards them - Ezelcant's palace is probably there. This is purely reconnaissance, no need to get involved with local problems just yet.

Did we bring something with us? What's the money they use?
>>
>>25741371
You brought a hidden knife and a hidden gun, as well as a radio earpiece to communicate with Ma G and the treasure start.

Desil and Carlos brought the same, but Carlos was smart enough to bring three bugs along. If set up properly it will allow you to monitor a small area using audio and visual sensors. It's fairly tiny about the size of a golfball. Tough, Powerful and can be easily stuck to walls thanks to a sticky coating.

The Vagans ether use gold or a kind of state-made synthetic diamond cube. Small, durable and a just about impossible to fake. Desil informed you that a lot of the time bartering was used by most of the poorer folk. Outside of a few pieces of scrap electronics you don't have any money.

You go down the street and look around for a bit with the others, seeing how the people live as well as seeing what's for sale.

It appears your in some kind of market. Mostly you see food for sale, but the types disturb you. There's fruits and vegetables of course, warped and discolored but you can still pick familiar things out like carrots, apples and what looks like some kind of giant melon sized turnip. The meats however appear very strange. Closer examination reveals the meat to have come from cats, dogs and...giant insects? At first your not sure, but after you witness a butcher slice up what could only be a giant cockroach your doubts vanish. You don't see any trace of cow or poultry of any find, outside of a few small birds.

Amongst the food for sale is a cheap, green colored solution that has the consistency of pudding. Your not sure what it's made out of.

(cont)
>>
>>25741742
> a cheap, green colored solution that has the consistency of pudding
...Soylent Green? Fuck.
>>
>>25741282
Duke, don't be like that. You'd stick out like a sore thumb. There are very few black people in Gundam. I'm sure the Vagan authorities know every single one on the colony. All three of them.

Anyway, if we can do it without looking suspicious, turn and look at the kids. I just want to see what children get up to in a society like this. For them to be street kids who haven't been drafted to the child soldier programs yet means they're the ones who are successful at hiding in the cracks of the city. If we can find a way to spend some time observing them without it being noticed we may find some good hiding spots and tunnel paths. Could be useful.
>>
>>25741845
Nice idea. We could possibly bribe them with candy and stuff to plant those bugs for us.
It's just that they'll be suspicious of anyone being kind and helpful.
>>
>>25741811
Nah, I'm sure it's just algae paste. Spirulina algae is the ideal food for poverty-stricken space colonies. Aside from the ease with which it gets contaminated with bacteria. And even if you get clean algae you're still going to wind up with gout from the excess nucleic acids in the algae. But hey, it's not like they can tell the difference between that and Mars Ray poisoning.

In the market appliances and other things are sold. Most of the devices appear to have been made by the sellers themselves, cobbled together out stolen or salvaged parts from military machines or mobile suits. Once again they are very bare necessity devices, you don't really see anything for entertainment outside of a small book stand that sells digital book files and some rather crude papyrus like paper.

The people in the market are very decisive. Outside of a few poorer, wishful eyed children, most of the people who approach the venders know exactly what they want and how much they are going to bay.

The are in general at first seems poor from the construction of the buildings, however as you walk down the road and leave the market place you come to the realization that you were in the good part of town.

The area you enter stinks with death and sickness. Buildings are poorly maintained, the sick and the starving line the streets, slumped against the tattered buildings or lying curled up in the fetal position.

Corpses litter the road, but are in the process of being picked up by three armed men with a cart. They have to fire a couple rounds in the air to scatter a group of people who were...eating one of the corpses.

Desil suggests you avoid this area for now and turn back from whence you came. You go up the street in an attempt to find a wealthier section of the city but find that it's gated, with the entrances fiercely guarded by Vagan soldiers.

>>25741845
You leave the area to investigate the sounds of children you heard before. After walking back through the alley you come to a busted up area of the city that's fallen into disrepair. Very few people are around outside of a few children who are messing around with what appears to be some kind of black sphere of rubber. They're using it as a kind of kickball but it's obvious it's just a globe of some kind of industrial rubber that someone tossed out instead of an actual toy.

(cont)
>>
>>25741911
They probably use algae for organic waste disposal and water recycling. It breaks down waste, releases some small amount of heat, and converts carbon-dioxide into breathable air. So this is probably the excess or dead algae that ends up here in the slums.
>>
>>25741911
So either the vagens are vegans or humanitarians. Either of those options do not paint a good picture of them.
>>
>>25741998
The children for the most part look fairly healthy. A few of the sicker looking ones hang out on the side lines and watch the game. They're fairly young, ranging from 7 to 10 years old. Your unsure why they haven't been drafted as child soldiers and Desil isn't ether.

What do you wish to do? Do you want to try and approach the children?
>>
>>25742041
I wonder if we can kidnap them and stow them on the ship.
>>
>>25742086
This is a terrible idea.
>>
>>25742041
I've no idea how to approach them that doesn't look suspicious. They're probably paranoid already.
Besides waiting for something bad to happen to them and then us moving in to help them.
>>
>>25742154
Okay, how about this.
Approach the sicker ones, ask them why they're not playing. If they say that they'll lose, give them a small speech how they shouldn't be like that, and hey, you'll play for their team. Then take off a piece of cloth we have on us (I guess hat or something), wrap the ball in it because screw that hard rubber and have a game of kickball.

>>
>>25742154
If only we had brought along a child of our own. Damn it, the one time I want Kio he isn't here.

Okay, they're not going to just trust some adult who comes up and starts trying to be their friend. They'd think we were going to take advantage of them, and react poorly. So we play to that expectation. We come in unfriendly and barking questions at the street rats about where we can find something. Doesn't matter what in particular, just something the average person wouldn't know where to find in this neighborhood. They won't react positively, but it will conform to the script they know for interactions with strangers, and we can probably get one of them as a guide. Remain brusque while they're leading us there, then when they've gotten us there we do a whole "Hey, kid, thanks" bit and toss them some bit of food or something. That will establish our presence in the area as strangers who they might be able to get something out of, meaning we might eventually be able to get their trust.

Or they could just lead us into an ambush where the older kids come at us with shivs. One or the other. At the very least I expect someone to pick our pocket at some point.
>>
>>25742271
Yeah, Purple Haro was an asshole. He did in fact help kill someone. And he was abusive towards the other Haros. We need to keep him away from MID, if he ever shows up in this timeline.
>>
>>25742310
We could do something like that. Ask the kids if they've found some holes in Ezelcant's wall, where we'd place those bugs Carlos brought with him.
Then we give them food or something we have with us as a quick thank you. It will probably end up with that kid following us around and helping us while we're here.
It's going to be Fram, isn't it?
>>
>>25742219
>>25742310

Without much to go on, you sit around and try to think of a reason how you can approach the kids without coming off like some kind of pedophilic creep.

Eventually you decide there's no way the children will trust you if you try to be all nice with them. You get an idea to play to their expectations...

"Guys, follow my lead..." You whisper to the others as you walk over to the kids with Carlos and Desil following close behind you.

"Hey kids!" You bark as you approach the group, causing all the kids to stop and look at you, their eyes immediately scanning over you in an attempt at threat assessment.

"I need to know how to find a special place..."

"Why would we know anything about where to hide things?" One of the younger kids asks. A little girl.

"Oh you don't know? I guess I was wrong, I swore you kids looked pretty street wise. I guess I'll just have to pay someone else to tell me..." You turn around and begin to leave before one of the kids, the little girl, stops you.

"What kind of 'special place' are you looking for?" She demands.

"I need to know if there are any holes in the wall to the wealthy district where Lord Ezelcant's castle is." You explain watching her stone face lapse into confusion for a moment.

She looks you over and can't seem to make heads or tails of you. Eventually she nods. "I might know where a hole is, but why should I tell you?"

"Oh no reason. Just the fact my friend here has holes in his pockets and might drop something to eat" You say, gesturing to Carlos who is playing with one of the apples he nicked from the market.

The girl seems intrigued by this proposition and nods her head in agreement.

"Alright. Follow me..."

After a half an hour of walking you come to a small, shitty house built right beside the wall. The little girl leads you inside where you see a heavily inebriated man sprawled out on his head, mumbling to himself and looking up at the ceiling.

Jake will have to open an orphanage at some point after Gen 3 when the war's over. The Crocker Home for Displaced Youth will be a source of loving care that helps support the youth of Vagan while Flit's EVERSE plan is put into effect. In addition to a safe, stable home for the children the Crocker Home will also provide free medical care for sufferers of the Mars Ray radiation sickness. It will be one of the great success stories of the post-bellum reconciliation, with Crocker's own grandson Ash having met his wife, Lu Anon, there when he was a teenager.
>>
>>25742558
The little girl walks right by the man's bed without so much as a word and stops when she comes to the back wall of the building. After feeling up the wall she begins to pull out bricks one by one until their is a small, child sized hole in the wall leading into a dark storage room of some sort.

You bend over and look inside.

"Does anyone know about this hole?" You ask.

"No one but me and a few others. It leads to a bar on the other side of the wall. This guy has been stealing the skunky beer from the storage room for quite a while. Me and my friends found out about it when we heard this guy groaning and throwing up. We've taken food from here a couple times but we don't want the owners to get wise. I've never been brave enough to sneak out of the room myself, but if you go in at night when everyone's left you should be able to leave the bar unnoticed."

You smile at the girl, looking quite impressed because you are. Motioning to Carlos he hands over the three apples he stole and you hand them over to the little girl, who quickly snatches them away and begins to eat one.

"What's your name kid?"

"Fram. Fram Nara. Why?" She looks up at you mid-bite as if expecting some malicious revelation.

You just smile and shrug "I'm a 'stranger' here you could say and I'll probably need some more help later on. Since you've already helped me once I don't see any reason I should bother with anyone else. I plenty of things to give to those who help me, so if your willing to help me out again I can ensure you will be properly rewarded."

Fram raises and eyebrow, looking totally perplexed to what your motives are. "Who are you?"

"I have many names. But you can call me Yazan. Yazan Gable."

"..." Fram stands up and backs away from you. "Alright. I'll help you as long as you help me. If you hurt me or betray me, I can guarantee you'll wind up as someone's dinner. Understand?"

"Crystal clear." You nod.

She explains, looking at you with a hardened, serious expression.

"I'm smart enough not to do anything stupid. I'll contact you when I need your assistance..."

Fram leaves the building and disappears into the streets.

You know now a safe way to get into the rich section of the city. What do you wish to do now Jake?

Investigating the rich neighborhood is a good idea, but it's still pretty early. You instead decide to check in on the other team and the treasure star. This house seems like a good place to stay, considering the drunk guy obviously doesn't give two shits at the moment.

Calling the other team up on a secure channel you speak to Rena.

"How are things over there?"

"Good. We've been looking around the tunnels for a while now. The map was right, there's no directly route into the castle. However I think we could melt a tunnel using a strong enough beam emitter."

"What will you need?"

"A beam emitter, some good math and measurements on my end and some time. It shouldn't be too hard though. However I don't know where we'll end up, all I know for sure is that 20 feet past this dead end is a hollow space of some kind."

"Keep investigating for now. We might be waiting till nightfall to investigate another area of the colony."

"Roger that Jake." Rena signs off and you switch over to the Treasure Star.

"Daiki, how are things on your end?"

"Fine. Nothing to report save of Duke's constant bitching..."

"Hey! Cut me some slack! I wanted to actually participate!" Duke shouts from the background.

"Duke, don't be like that. You'd be like chocolate milk in a soy milk factory. I'm sorry none of the Vagans are black, it's not my fault Ezelcant's a regular racist or if all of the black people died or were killed during the Federations attack. You can help Rena and the others with the assault when the time comes but until then stay on the Treasure Star."

"...Fine, then I get to cut of Ezelcan't head and make a basket with it." Duke demands.

"Er, fine whatever. I called dibs like 18 years in advance to do something to hime but I'm sure we can work something out." You end the call and let out a sigh of relief. Things seem to be going pretty well. Now what?

What do you wish to do now? It's 8:30 and there is 9 hours till the night cycle begins.

A beam emitter? Do we have one of those on the ship, or is our next objective going to be finding one here?
>>
>>25743558
If you don't have a spare lying around, you can take the beam emitter out of a beam saber and use that. The Crusader has a pair of beam daggers/sabers that could be used.
>>
>>25743645
That's good to know. Let's investigate around some more, then.
See if we can memorize the guard patrols around here so we can avoid them better later on.
>>
>>25743645
On a side note, is that drunk guy in the house going to be a problem later on?
We should find a way to get rid of him, possibly by bribing him or something.
>>
>>25744521
The drunk guy doesn't appear all that well off. He's so drunk that he doesn't even know your ether. He appears to be on the verge of alcohol poisoning at times. Your not sure if he'll be a problem later on, however you have a feeling that giving him some proper booze will probably keep him from being an issue.

You decide to investigate the colony some more, spending a lot of time memorizing guard patrols around the poor district. They seem to stick mostly to the walls of the rich sector, occasionally going into the very poor sections of the poor districts to pick up the dead bodies off the road for 'recycling'.

The guards shouldn't be an issue unless you get in their way or act suspiciously.

Also, you discover from one of Fram's friends that the green stuff they sell is called Green Eden, it's a mix of dead algae, fungus and something else that no one's quite sure of. Whatever it is it's cheap, healthy and will keep someone going for a while. So no one's bothered to ask or investigate.

Outside of memorizing the guard patrols, is there anything else you wish to do while waiting for nightfall?
>>
>>25744726
*He's so drunk he doesn't know you are there.*
>>
>>25744726
"So, you guys have an idea what we should do while we're waiting?"
Did we manage to sneak a peak at the guard's equipment, or if the gate opened, what's it like on the other side?
>>
>>25744726
Try to find the source of the green eden.
>>
>>25744842
Sounds like a plan. If it is really people, we could probably broadcast that data to start a riot if shit hits the fan.
>>
>>25744829
The guards appear to be armed with assault rifles and of some kind of grenades. They don't really appear to have any none-lethal weapons besides some nasty looking batons they rarely take out.

On the occasion the gates opened to allow merchants in or out of the poor district, you caught a glimpse what was on the other side. larger, still somewhat simple structures. However these seems more elegant and elaborate with whites and golds instead of the sandy beige color every building in the poor district is painted.

"So guys, any idea what we should do?" You ask as you walk about.

"Well...we could look into this Green Eden stuff. Seems a little suspicious. No one can make something and sell it this cheaply..." Carlos suggests,

"I agree. I never had it myself, at least I don't remember having it. Best place we can check is where the merchants are getting it. They mostly get their goods from the rich section, however they pick up Green Eden from the military section..." Desil's eyes furrow...

The three of you duck into an alley and you call up Rena. You ask her to head down to the military section and launch one of the probes you used to map the maintenance tunnels.

"What am I looking for?" She asks.

"Some kind of processing plant, something that's making some kind of food..." There's silence for a while as she flies the probe around.

"I'm not seeing a whole lot. There's this one place that's some kind of corpse recycling facility. Huh that's weird..."

"What's weird Rena?"

"Nothing. I've never seen them break down bodies like that. It's like they're cutting out specific parts before they just break them down..."

"What's happening to the specific parts?" You ask, your eyes widening as you listen.

"They're ground up, processed for a bit and...mixed into some green crap..."

You stand their listening to every gruesome detail until Desil shake's your shoulder.

"Jake? Jake what's wrong?"

You look up, eyes wide with horror and shake your head. Eventually you process what you've learned and say it.

"It's people Desil..."

"What is?"

"Green Eden. Green Eden is made out of People!"

(And here's where we'll stop.)

Vagan is going to experience the shitstorm of the century when word of this breaks loose.
We could use the imminent riots to hide our escape with the rescued Galettes.

Fun as always, Crosswire. See you tomorrow.

Before I go tonight, do you guys know of any artists I could contact for requests? I plan on seeing this through to the end and I think some drawn images for Jake and his family or some of the stuff that has happened would be good.

I'd pay money for them, but I'm kind of broke, poor and saving for a car so I can find a job. Any ideas?

I guess you could ask in the occasional drawthread. Or the Quest Thread General that's going on every Saturday.
Maybe we have somebody on deviantArt or something who'd be interested in doing a commission.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
>>
>>25745694
No, No your suggestions were more then I had going in my mind. This will do find, I'll ask around and see what I can get. Thanks!
>>
>>25745756
No problem. Glad to be of help.

Hmm. I wonder which specific parts are being recycled as food? I'd assume the liver, given that it has the highest caloric value of any single organ other than the brain. Lungs are pretty good, too (don't ask why I know these things, anthropology degrees take you down really weird places sometimes). Or maybe it's not about the nutrition, and more about concentrating some chemical to higher levels in the populace. Like there's some neuropeptide that Ezelcant thinks is essential for his vision of mankind, so he's recycling it from corpses the most straightforward way.

Still, I can't imagine that it's completely unknown what's in Green Eden. Even if the facility is automated there would still be plenty of human workers there. Rumors would leak out. Probably it's one of those things that everyone knows about but no one talks about, because why would you admit to the shame of something like that? Just pretend it's not something that happens. Not to mention bringing Ezelcant's men down on you if you say anything interpreted as seditious. Trying to start a riot with this information will probably just draw Ezelcant's attention to us.

Maybe they frame the Green Eden in a holy, ritualized manner? As in "inheriting the soul and strength of our brothers by taking in their flesh"?
>>
>>25746754
Maybe. Or they're just desperate enough to not care.
