You are Princess Lydia Tannhäuser Von Cygnus Gates the third, second in line of succession to the throne, duchess of Tannhäuser, and executive director of the Royal Rocketry Corps of Midland.

It's midsummer eve and You are currently standing in the middle of a field of standing stones, wearing a mask and surrounded by a number of similarly masked individuals. One of whom you are fairly sure is your mother. This is hardly fitting behavior for women of breeding, let alone royalty, but this is the way the Royal Astrological Society prefers to hold it's meetings. At least you aren't sacrificing maidens and dancing sky clad.

Not counting yourself wearing the mask of Luna there are 6 masked figures present, each wearing the mask of a different planet.

Lilith, trickster and messenger, is a young woman about your age. You haven't ever heard her speak, but she is apparently the one who delivers the invitations to you.
Torment, lord of the oceans, trials, and tribulations; is a man who speaks with a booming voice.
Gaia, mother of all life, is quite obviously your mother. You would recognize her voice anywhere. This is so much like her.
Ishtar, goddess of love, war, and chaos, is a handsome woman in a scandalous outfit, her voice is both great and terrible.
Wodan, god of wisdom and power, probably an old man, wears long robes and seems to be the one in charge around here.
Orphan, the hermit god of secrets and death, he mostly just lurks around the outskirts and you can't make out his appearance very well, He rarely speaks.

It is turn 12, there are 4 tuns until the begining of typhoon season. Your satelite map will be finished in 2 turns. Budget for this turn has been spent. You are out of luck.

>>
> Budget for this turn has been spent. You are out of luck.

Well that's ominous!

Skyclad dancing is a perfectly wholesome activity and we may move to introduce it later on, but not today.

The thing to do is to wait for our seniors to start talking; this is a weird tradition but it is a tradition. We suspect we'll have to report on our findings.
>>
Good, in time for the quest.
>>
>>25720532
You can always gain more Luck points later.

You explain to the society that you wish to elevate the technological ability of earth to better prepare it for a potential encounter with the Foe Stars.
(See last thread http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/25686482/)

Wodan nods as you say this, but when you are finished he asks, "Consider however Luna, Might mankind not be ready for the changes you are bringing. The great war ushered in the Industrial age, and it's toll can be seen across the land. Do you think the people are ready for the radio-age?"
>>
>>25720952

"Consider that mankind is but a child. What child is ever ready to grow up? The radio-age era will come, sooner or later. All we can do, is to show the way, for it is their choice to follow it or not."
>>
>>25721093

And please, someone try to come up with someting better than my write-in.
>>
>>25720952

"The radio-age era will come, sooner or later. We know that the Foe Stars exist by that principle, although their application is far more advanced. It can come by our hands or by the hands of would-be conquerors, whether they come from here or elsewhere."
>>
"If that is what you believe, we can only hope your judgment is correct." The man wearing the mask of torment speaks.

Do you have any questions for the council, or is this meeting over?
>>
>>25721413

"Is there a plan already in place if the Foe Stars are indeed hostile? Are you happy with working with radioastrology?"
>>
I'd like to ask for more funds, but I don't know how to appraoch such subject. Mentioning the hearing and asking for help and influence too.

But I'm stumped on how to speak of those things.
>>
>>25721413
"Does your influence extend beyond the borders of Midland? The unrest to the west, and the military ambitions of Nordland; they pull resources and support away from the program. Can they be diminished?"
>>
>>25721499
"The society is ill prepared to fight gods, only interpret their will. We leave any such heresy to you." Ishtar tells you.

"As for foreign problems in the north and west, consider leveraging your allies in the south and east." Mother suggests.
>>
>>25721659
"We fail to see how the Eastern Islands, isolated as they are from the world economy and lacking in any advanced weapons, could be of use in influencing Nordland. And Suthland, assisting Midland in keeping the Western Isles? Have you any reason why Suthland would wish to do something so contrary to their nature?"
>>
>>25721729
"That is YOUR responsibility, not ours" The man wearing the mask of the Tormentor explains sternly.
>>
>>25721659
>consider leveraging your allies in the south and east
Seriously, what could the Eastern Isles possibly do, when they're still milling about in wooden canoes? Do they have ANY economic impact on the world?

As for Suthland, why would they get involved in an internal affair of Midland, and on the colonialism side, for that matter?
As a confederation of free city-states, it makes zero sense for them to help Midland keep the Western Isles in their control.
>>
>>25721849

Looks like they weren't kidding when they said they were giving up the ship.

"If all you can give us is knowledge, then please do. The most important thing we need to know is -- is there a group such as this in Suthland, or elsewhere?"
>>
>>25721849
So not only are supposed to direct the RRC and XCOM, but also handle foreign intelligence somehow in order to make a democratic federation help us crush a colonial rebellion and turn a primitive society into a global power enough to be a useful ally somehow.

Besides the matter of overstepping our bounds, where are we supposed to get all of this supposed power?

The Society is, as always, of little use or competence.

Let's end this meeting and get back to work.
>>
Gaia laughs. "I suppose My suggestion was more of the romantic notion of friendship overcoming the odds. If you find that too nieve then maybe you should reconsider associating a coven with mystics in the middle of the night."

She waits a few moments for that to sink in before adding. "As for the situation in the west, we cannot involve ourselves in earthly concerns."
>>
>>25721957
Are they really asking us to do all of that though? We think you are being overly rude to the organization that is responsible for much of our funding.

It's a bunch of superstitious old nobles with more money than sense, if we smile and nod they might give us money, instead you want to argue with them.
>>
>>25722070
The Society is NOT responsible for much of our funding.
The only support that the Society has provided were 1 vote in our favor during the first year's Appropriations Committee hearing, 1 vote in Colonel Smith's hearing, and the land for the Radio-Telescope, which was royal land anyway and we could have gotten it, and the 15RP for the Radio-Telescope's invention.
>>
>>25721986

"Understood, I'm glad to have heard your wisdom this night and hope your trust in me to help lead mankind is not misplaced."

we have work to do in the south and east I think, and because we can't work on rocket stuff(like launching and all that) we should investigate the obvious plot hook.
>>
>>25722331

seconded.
>>
>>25722331
A little groveling, aren't you, when we've historically been at odds with the Society in the beginning, and after the first successful satellite launch, they said that they would support us with what they have, which didn't include money, or overwhelming political influence.
>>
>>25722331
>because we can't work on rocket stuff
We need to launch a Lunar Probe and get the island prepared for the storm season in 4 turns. There's plenty of launching to do.
>>
"If Luna has no more questions for the society, this meeting is over. We wish the rocket corps luck in it's future endeavors..." Odin speaks as lilith offers you her hand to escort you out of the stone circle.

>>25722135
Stonefield is the most sacred astrological site in Midland, The council very much owns it. And you have no idea exactly how many votes they control.
>>
>>25722426

They can only help so much for a shadow organization that has power in certain places of government but is unable to effectively help us unless we prove worthy(running sentence runs).

If they threw us handouts all the time parliament would smack mommy and daddy down for excessive spending of the crowns budget.

We have to make ourselves worth something so that it is excusable to do so.
>>
>>25722458
Stonefield is not the only place we could have set up a radio-telescope.
And the number of votes they control has likely diminished after they were so publicly humiliated when the RRC successfully sent up a satellite in defiance of their so-called "scientific" paper.

>>25722477
That's not how funding works here.
The Astrological Society could have its members send in private donations, as the Army, Navy, and Air Force do, to supplement their government budget.
That is something that was already discussed, and something that the Society could do without involving the Queen and King or the official budget, but which they are either unwilling or incapable of doing.
Your entire argument is based upon a misunderstanding of how the RRC can be funded.
>>
Should have told them the Foe Stars are not gods. They emit radio signals; that's not divine power, that's technology. A technology we are developing ourselves.
>>
>>25722533
True, you could have spent your own money and labor to build a telescope on private land, diverting even more funds away from actual rocketry, and then when the committee on military spending hit, suddenly found that nobody in parliament is interested in a princess' pet projects during a period of recession and civil strife.

Anyways, It's turn 13 now, You can head back to the islands as soon as you want and have a full 44 points to spend.
Your map will be finished next turn and There are 3 turns until the storms hit.
You have also received news that Ms Kenaway's second space station re-entered the atmosphere successfully after breaking another recored for longest time spent in space.
>>
>>25722668
They already know that.
>>
>>25722674
>"The society is ill prepared to fight gods, only interpret their will. We leave any such heresy to you." Ishtar tells you.

Are you sure?
>>
>>25722674
>>25722713
It's one of those magic/technology things. Even if they aren't literal gods, they council dosn't think fighting them is something they are ready to do.
>>
>>25722713
We already told them about the radio transmissions when we first detected them, and the Society's response was that they had not thought to record them before.
So yes, they're aware of the radio transmissions from the Foe Stars; they just don't seem to care whether they're divine or technology.
>>
>>25722673

We need to see who we want to regale with the map, other than our own military.

One thing we may consider is dropping off "I can see your house from here" pictures to anyone who's annoyed us so far...
>>
>>25722713
Idiot Anon, you may have fucked us!
>>
>>25721957
And yeah, the Society is fucking important, they are the secret society, and now you keep fucking us. Shut up and let the do things, until we are stronger, we have to play their game
>>
>>25722844
>>25722875
This is hardly appropriate language for a princess.
>>
>>25722673
Turn 13 Budget:
12RP Mk.4c Cherubim 13/17
21RP Lunar Impactor ( Cheribum 12RP + Pathfinder 3RP + MiniVAC 3RP + Probe 1RP + Orbital Thrusters 1RP + 4 Units of Fuel 1RP )
10RP Radio Telescope 5/8
1RP Television Module 16/20
>>
>>25722939
That probe will need a power source.
>>
>>25722939

Don't we need to begin preparetions for the Typhoon season ASAP?
>>
>>25722990
Just make sure all rocket parts are launched before the storms hit and pack up on the last turn. Then it will be a simple matter of patching the damage up. Last year was worse than normal.
>>
Turn 13 Budget:
12RP Mk.4c Cherubim 13/17
22RP Lunar Impactor ( Cheribum 12RP + Pathfinder 3RP + MiniVAC 3RP + Probe 1RP + Panels 1RP + Orbital Thrusters 1RP + 4 Units of Fuel 1RP )
9RP Radio Telescope 5/7
1RP Television Module 16/20

Let's go with solar power on the impactor.
>>
>>25723214
Why not add a television module as well? There is 1 space left over.
>>
>>25723250

Can we get a signal that far?

We can probably sell the footage to movie studios afterwards... bet the approach (and lunar takeoff when it's played back in reverse) would end up in every Republic serial out there :)
>>
>>25723250
No wait derp, there isn't. Still a camera might be more useful than a probe because pictures of the moon will give us a bonus.
>>
>>25723278

You will need a radio telescope to get the signal. So make sure the Stonefield array is finished by the time it launches.
>>
>>25723319

It may be better to wait a moment thn.
>>
>>25723338
You will need the radio-array to receive any signal from any probe in lunar space.
>>
>>25723338

Let's make the rocket, but not launch it until we have an acceptable array. Let's focus all our funds for the next couple of turns on the array.
>>
>>25723414
If you launch at the beginning of the Typhoon season, you will get results by the fall equinox. Something to celebrate.

>>25723214
Budget invalid, 9 points are spent on the Radio telescope but the radio telescope is a mass 5 object, raising it to 5/7 only costs 5 points.
>>
>>25723503
12RP Mk.4c Cherubim 13/17
22RP Lunar Impactor ( Cheribum 12RP + Pathfinder 3RP + MiniVAC 3RP +Television Module 1RP + Panels 1RP + Orbital Thrusters 1RP + 4 Units of Fuel 1RP )
10 RP Radio Telescope 5/* (*as high as possible)

Is this valid? I don't know what the formula for spending RP is, so I put in a cute little asterisk~
>>
>>25723705
For upgrading things, you spend as many points as the mass of the object times the amount of improvement. So raising the telescope by two points (or 1 fail and 1 boom to 5/8) costs 10 points.
>>
>>25723503
12RP Mk4c Cheribum 13/17
22RP Lunar Impactor ( Cheribum 12RP + Pathfinder 3RP + MiniVAC 3RP + Solar Panels 1RP + Probe 1RP + Orbital Thrusters 1RP + 4 Units of Fuel 1RP )
10RP Radio Telescope 5/8
>>
>>25723941

second!
>>
>>25723414
The probe needs to travel a long distance, which will take a few turns of travel. That should be taken into consideration.
>>
>>25723941
What happened to the camera? I don't see much point in including a probe when the capsule can do the same thing. Also we have room for more fuel, it wouldn't hurt to add a margin of error since we can fit so much in.
>>
>>25724048
House-rule it will only take 1 turn.
http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=SpacePrincessQuest.Rules
>>
>>25723941

Why do we need a probe again? IIRC, it's only purpose is to say "hey guys, I hit the target. Now I'm gonans tay here beeping endlessly until my power runs out and die, ok?".

The camera can do the same thing, but better.
>>
>>25724066
>>25724106
The probe contains scientific equipment.
Also, the Television is at 15/20.
>>
>>25724171
Mechanically speaking, the television is more science-y than the probe.
>>
>>25724171
>>25724203

HA!

I support the television. We can still improve it, and even if we don't, we need to have one working.
>>
>>25724203
That would have been nice to know when you suggested we use the probe.

If that's the case, then we should finish the television module this turn and launch the Lunar Impactor next turn.

Turn 13 Budget:
24RP Cheribum 14/17
4RP Television 19/20
10RP Radio Telescope 5/8
5RP Radio-Reactive Pile 6/12
1RP Solar Panels put into Inventory
>>
>>25724479

I guess that works too.

Confirmed. You pen the budget as you are flying home to Tanhauser island, leaving parliamentary hearings and secret societies behind you.

How shall you spend this turn now that the budget is complete?
>>
>>25724662

After all that politicking, not to mention a flying boat trip? A swim and a bath are in order.
>>
>>25724662
We shall see to beginning preparations for the Storm Season.
See how much space is available in our basements, begin tagging equipment that will need to go into storage, triple-checking all water seals and that there is no strain that may lead to structural collapse at the Manor.

Make sure that the town is prepared as well.
>>
>>25724763
Which shall you inspect first?

>The workshop
>The radio-pile
>MultiVAC's room
>The ale hall.
>>
>>25724939
The workshop.
We shall need it operational as quickly as possible when the storms end.
>>
>>25724939

The ale hall, so we can let the men know the Colonel was victorious!
>>
>>25724969
>let the men know
A lot of our staff are women computers.
>>
>>25724996

Men in hat case refers to both parties, or thats what I meant.
>>
>>25724939
What shall you wear as you inspect the facilities.
>Change into your bathing dress and go for a swim before suprising the staff at the ale hall with good news.
>Change into your uniform and give everything a good military rundown.
>Keep your frilly dress and ask polite questions about the status of the preparations.
In other news, New wiki page!
http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=SpacePrincessQuest.SpacePrincessQuest
Still under construction, but much better than the old one.
>>
>>25725194
>>Keep your frilly dress and ask polite questions about the status of the preparations.

Frilly Dress- Accept no substitutes. We can also see if any body else wants to go for a swim(If its not too unbecoming of us.).
>>
>>25725194
>Change into your uniform and give everything a good military rundown.
These are military personnel at heart. They'll appreciate the efficiency.
>>
>>25725194

Military dress, due to the nature of the hearing.
>>
As the Maiale Volante floats into the lagoon you change into your bathing dress and dive into the water. After a quick swim you dash to Tannhäuser Manor to take a bath and change into your Uniform before meeting the Colonel and marching towards the workshops.

Once there you inspect everything and give orders to have the new lunar probe ready to launch by storm season, and then have everything else cleared and packed away.
>>
>>25725647
Good, now on to the other parts of the base, and hopefully we can bring Prince Orion with us when we travel the world on Gaia's quest hook to the south.
>>
>>25725647
What about the workshop and the launch pad?

We should prepare a message to Kenaway to congratulate her on her space station.
>>
>>25725811

No argument there. :3
>>
>>25725811
>when we travel the world on Gaia's quest hook to the south.
Why should we be traveling to Suthland when we have a global communications network with which to speak with Ms. Kenaway?
And as useful as Orion has been, you'd bring a savage like him with us?
>>
>>25725900

There is better communication in face to face exchanges, and to help uplift Orion and by extension his people. There has to be something in this hint from god mother.
>>
You spot Orion fishing a dozen meters off the beach.

>Call out to him
>Remove shoes and wade out to him violating uniform standards and getting your stockings wet in the process
>Go change into your swimsuit before going to see him
>>
>>25726068
>Call out to him
We'd simply end up scaring the fish away if we went into the water.
>>
>>25726084

seconded.
>>
>>25726138
Orion hears you and waves back "Hoy Princess! Welcome to home again!" He picks up his spear and wades back to you on the beach. "How was your journey"
>>
>>25726208
"It was productive. We have defeated General Clay in Parliament for now.
"What of your governmental duties, Prince Orion? Are you not being prepared to take up your duties?"

We should see what resources his nation can offer to the global economy; having his nation continue to be backwards is of no use to us.
>>
>>25726208
"It was tiring. The general that visited was angry at me for not making weapons, but we resolved that issue. I did get to visit my parents which was lovely. How was your time spent here?"

now doesn't seem like the right time to ask him about visiting the world with us.
>>
>>25726250
"Duties?" The Prince looks somewhat confused by your question. He also seems kind of confused when you tell him about general Clay. "How can a warrior tell a princess what to do?"
>>
>>25726307
"As a Prince, are you not required to learn how to rule? Are you not in line for the throne?
"We are in a position where, while we are a Royal and a Princess, the funds and resources given to our program are controlled by Parliament. General Clay wished for the RRC to develop weapons; we refused. And so he attempted to convince Parliament to reduce our funding."

Doesn't Orion have any experience with court politics?
>>
>>25726390
Prince Orion shakes his head and. "I am the son of a queen, One of my sisters shall take her place when she is old. Politics are for women, a man has no time for such things."

He offers you the fish.
>>
>>25726495

We graciously accept of course.
>>
>>25726495
"Then perhaps you should introduce us to your mother and sisters sometime. We are not the heir apparent, but we are sure that our brother would appreciate a friendly port in the Eastern Isles when he ascends the throne."

Have Mr. Luxon take the fish.
Orion is far less useful than I previously thought. No wonder his Mother has no complaints about him risking his life as a Void Knight; he is ineligible for the throne, and therefore expendable.
>>
>>25726495

Born for war.

Accept the gift, and end turn.
>>
>>25726609

He's cute, learned a language and went from "savage" to "astronaut candidate" in less than a year, and he calls a spade a spade. Polite enquiries as to the marriage customs of his people should be in order, in most circumstances other than the present ones.
>>
I'd like to know how Prince Orion's combat and leadership abilities measure up against Prince Michel.
He's no match for Lord Perro, after all.
Prince Michel has both military ability and if our Father's testing is any indication, he must also have some political ability.
>>
>>25726653
Nothing which really makes him any more valuable than, say, Sir Harker.
Actually, Sir Harker's stats are far superior to Prince Orion's, as are Dame Cobham's and Dame Palmer's. Orion simply is not that valuable to the RRC.
>>
>>25726719
True, but his sister is, and she seems close to him. We maybe able to visit the Queen and offer to show some or one of her daughters and the prince different parts of the world.
>>
Orion likes the idea of introducing you to his mother and sisters and promises to do so if you ever chose to visit his mother's island.

Later that night Mr Luxon serves the fish for dinner, and explains to you that the the people of the eastern islands consider politics, and intellectual pursuits to be woman's work while men are encouraged to be fearless warriors and sailors.
He tells you that you however that men are hardly considered worthless, especaly the son of "That woman" he seems to shuder as he speaks of her.

>>25726719
Only because you have been putting points into them.

It is now turn 14. The map should be finished about now. Your budget has been raised by 2 and you now have 46 points to spend.
There are two turns until the start of Typhoon season and you are out of luck.
>>
>>25726918

Lets finalize what ever we have left and see if we can visit Orion's mom. Also have a talk with Mr Luxon about "that women"
>>
>>25726918
Send a radio message to be delivered to the primary academy of Midland and Westrin Academy, that we wish to begin a joint research project concering the MultiVAC. The MultiVAC represent a revolutionary leap in the speed of computations, and the creation of entire new fields of mathematics and logic. They can be at the forefront of those fields if they will work with us.

Look into electricity generation companies, to see if any would be interested in photo-voltaic power systems.

Turn 14 Budget:
24RP Mk4c Cheribum 15/18
22RP Lunar Impactor ( Cheribum 12RP + Pathfinder 3RP + MiniVAC 3RP + Television Module 1RP + Photovoltaic Powercells 1RP + Orbital Thrusters 1RP + 4 Units of Fuel 1RP )
>>
>>25727019
No Radio-array? Don't we kind of need that before we can launch?
>>
OH YEAH, I forgot, you also got another +2 for the geosynch orbit as well. You have 4 extra points to spend including the 2 from last turn.
>>
>>25727019

Swap the Mk4c for the Radio Array.
>>
Raising the radio array to 8/10 costs 25 points. You have 3 remaining. 1 for this turn and 2 to spend retroactively.
>>
>>25727296
Not really. We can send it up, and then take our time getting the radio telescope ready during the storm season.

These house rules in the middle of a turn make trying to map out a schedule.
I mean, first we're told that if we launch at the beginning of the typhoon season we'll get results during the Fall Equinox, which is 2 Turns away, and then we're told, no, it'll only take 1 turn.
>>
Oh also, you already have solar panels left over from last turn. So it's 2 points for both turns.
>>
>>25727414
My apologies, I meant BY the fall equinox.
>>
>>25727354
No, if we're going to be delaying the launch of the Lunar mission, then we should be putting those points into making the Cheribum more reliable, especially since we don't have any luck and it's an unmanned mission so piloting skills don't factor into it.
>>
>>25727473
Keep in mind the cherubim probably won't explode. If it fails it's roll the launch will be delayed. If the radio-telescope fails, the impactor will hit the moon without leaving behind any proof visible from earth.

However, a delay might be a bad thing at this point because a storm would destroy the rocket if it's still on the launch pad. You will need both systems to be in working order as soon as possible.
>>
>>25727546

For how long is it possible to capture the television signal?
>>
>>25727592
For as long as it is being broadcast. If you launched on turn 15 for example, you would get one roll on turn 16 to get a clear signal.
>>
Turn 13 retroactive 2 points:
1x Television Camera Module
1x Hawtrey Void Engine

Turn 14:
25RP Radio Telescope 8/10
19RP Lunar Mission ( Cheribum 12RP + Pathfinder 3RP + MiniVAC 3RP +Television Module + Solar Panels + Orbital Thrusters + 4 Units of Fuel 1RP ) [Television, Panels, Thrusters constructed during previous turn]
1RP Dame Palmer Train Piloting 3/3/3/0/0
1RP Dame Cobham Train Engineering 3/4/3/0/1
1RP Sir Harker Train Engineering 4/3/3/2/2
1RP Orion Train Piloting 4/2/1/1/2/1
>>
>>25727643
That's 48 points not 46.
>>
>>25727672
Didn't you JUST say that we get 48?
>>25727339

44RP + 2RP bonus for complete map of the planet + 3RP for first achieving Geo-synchronous orbit, having a mapping payload, and being the first to successfully make the burn to geo-stationary orbit.
>>
>>25727787
Again I apologize, I said you had 4 extra points to spend including 2 from last turn.
Your Per turn budget is 46 because you were at 42, then got +2 for geostatonary, and +2 for the map.

42+2+2=46. You will be at 48 if this mission succeeds.
>>
>>25727871
Our budget is 44RP, not 42RP.
Our budget was increased to 44RP at the beginning of session 44.

Please do not screw up with the calculations like this.
>>
>>25727984
Oh my this is embarrassing.

In that case, the per turn budget is now 48 and this budget is confirmed
>>25727643
25RP Radio Telescope 8/10
19RP Lunar Mission ( Cheribum 12RP + Pathfinder 3RP + MiniVAC 3RP +Television Module + Solar Panels + Orbital Thrusters + 4 Units of Fuel 1RP ) [Television, Panels, Thrusters constructed during previous turn]
1RP Dame Palmer Train Piloting 3/3/3/0/0
1RP Dame Cobham Train Engineering 3/4/3/0/1
1RP Sir Harker Train Engineering 4/3/3/2/2
1RP Orion Train Piloting 4/2/1/1/2/1

I will now update the wiki and try my best not to cry.
>>
>>25728126

Its ok God mother, we all make mistakes. sometimes those mistakes mean the life of an imaginary character burning up upon reentry crying about how he'll never see his wife give birth or his children.
>>
>>25728126
Just please keep better notes.
I feel like I have to keep my own set of notes on budgets, acquired bonuses, and reliability scores just to not get shortchanged every few sessions.
>>
>>25728177
If it's any consolation I have been known to accidentally forget entire turns for the SSC's side.

Which is good because there is nothing you can do right now to stop them from getting rations delivery and spacewalk before they do.
>>
>>25728258
ahh poop. Oh well we should be able to trade tech for money latter on if we really need to.
>>
We need to get the Reusable Capsule, Reusable Upgoer, and Gravity Slingshot bonuses.
>>
>>25728296
You could have gotten spacewalk like ages ago if you just built an EVA suit. With the Hawtry engine the pathfinder has room for one extra mass of payload (because it no longer needs the RCS). Just needed to invent it. I should probably give you a bonus for having the largest satellite constellation though.

As for trading tech, Ms Kenaway might be interested in your cameras or radios.

>>25728346
Re-usable capsule is something you could do, just need to upgrade harker's deathtrap and give it another spin. Once the radio teliscope is up and running, gravity slingshot and all the moon mapping bonuses are practicaly yours and that should put you ahead of the SSC
>>
>>25728258
So if this works, next turn our budget will be 50?
We should probably finish the satellite grid before typhoon season. Then spend wait out the storms doing work on multiVAC and the radio-telescope.
>>
>>25728487
Satellite grid is done, it's been done.
>>
>>25728487
No, we already got the bonus for the completed planetary map.
>>
>>25728502
Oh shit never-mind then.
>>
>>25728474
Are we going to get the response from the Midland and Western Academies this turn?
What about the electricity companies? Are they private corporations or a regulated government utility?
>>
>>25728543
You don't have anything to offer the power companies, the pile is still nowhere near criticality.
MultiVac is also somewhat premature. You don't have much to offer them yet.

There is also the issue of sharing these sensitive technologies with outside organizations. Such an action would require player concensus. However mature Radio-power will give a bonus to resources to represent less dependency on outside power, and MultiVac will give bonuses to inventions as well as other things I haven't though up yet.
>>
>>25728518
For forgiveness I will try and make a comprehensive to-do list with items and associated costs.

Multi-VAC - currently 6/10
> required 27 RP to get to 10/15

Radio-Telescope -currently 8/10
>requires 35 RP to get to 10/15

EVA suit -(assuming mass 1)
>3 RP to invent at 1/5
>19 RP to get 10/15
>1 RP to build
>14 RP to get 19/20

Radio-Reactive Pile - currently 6/12
>requires 35 RP to get to 10/15
>>
>>25728661
Invention and physical prototypes are different.
Physical prototype is needed to get above 5/10. Development is limited to 10/15 after that until a successful use in space has been done.
>>
>>25728661

Keep in mind that things like the radio telescope and reactive-pile do not have to be prototyped and tested, they are already built and tested by there use. You can improve each by up to 5 points in each category each turn if you can afford it.
>>
>>25728639
>>25728731
If we aren't going to get anything from the power company or the academies, then let's at least get more information about the Eastern Isles from Mr. Luxon and have Orion arrange that introduction to his queen and sisters.
>>
>>25728785
Okay I'll do that next time. But it's getting late and I think I'll walk the dog now. Thanks for 132 replies, I thought the quest was dieing from the last two threads.

I think I'll try to start at noon time (PST) on next Tuesday if starting early has this much effect. Good night.
>>
>>25728949
night good mother.
>>
>>25728949
Good night.

Thanks for the quest.
