Good Evening again my dear gentlemen.
Shall we continue our story again?

In the year 1400 the beginnings of a holy war between our goodly demons of destruction and murder, and the wretched dogs of God...

In the midst of this, we follow the story of one demon among the many, known as Faefnir by his peers. His human-skin the shape of a once-farmboy known as Jacob, and his power source, a once-baker known as Claire, he has come to his senses as a LV mechanical demon. Otherwise known as an Akuma.

After a daring, close call of an escape from incarceration, Faefnir rescued the Lady Noah, Morgan Le Fey.

Or rather, she rescued herself... Well, sort of...

However with the Family's cover blown, they went on to raze the poor town of Ruinebrair to the ground, ensuring that many, many arrogant peasants learned of their rightful place in the ground!

Yet of course, things can never be quite so easy.

The Exorcist, Byron Asher fought back against the family, and his Innocence evolved in the conflict, or perhaps from the death of his brother?

Seeing that this man would not go down so easily, Faefnir orders a retreat...

And only one man didn't make it out alive...

Ivan, you were a dear comrade.

So as to not let his death go in vain, the family makes their exodus from the ruined town, that now respects its name.

On the opposite side of a mountain summit, the family comes to a rest... Nearly all are silent, out of respect for the member of the family that they lost...

We carry on comrades... We carry on.

The story so far. Ivan's fate is in Wildfires.

Ivan was a good soldier.

His arrow always had your back.

We will all miss him.
>>
The family sits around, desolate upon rocks and a pulled up trunk of a fallen tree. No one is inherently comfortable, though a fire would certainly alarm them far more than anything else...

You see that the Noah has started to shiver quite a bit, and you realize that she is still in rags... You pull up next to her and lean in to whisper,"I'm sorry, Noah Morgan. But I do fear for your and my family's safety until we have a few days travel distance away from the exorcist scum, so we will have to rough it without a proper fire and bed.. However, you may sleep between Madelein and I... Her fur is soft, and my Oven is warm. It is the least we can offer.."

Morgan lays a hand upon your shoulder and pulls you into a gentle embrace.. A gesture that you can't quite think the last you, yourself- It was Mirabelle. Mirabelle was the last to hold you like this... and you killed Mirabelle to make Kralle.
She whispers into your ear," My poor lost creature... Do not worry, you'll kill again in the future.. it will only take time and it'll be all better. I know these things." She lets you go and clasps her hands around your face," You are indeed warm though, I'll happily accept your offer."

You put one of your hands over hers, and slowly remove them," Lady Noah is too kind."
Morgan looks upset suddenly," What is this nonsense? Calling me... calling me Noah... do I look like... do I look like I make boats? Does.. Say..." She puts a hand to her head as her sudden anger vanishes into pain," My head... it hurts again... oh god it hurts... Why... why does God hate us so..." Tears bgin to well up in her eyes and you over her your rememdy, however she shakes her head, blood drifting from it as a new wound opens up.

You stare at her forehead with some scrutiny. Five. She has Five now, she just needs two more... Two more and she'll awaken.

The "attack" passes and she grabs you by the shirt, staring at you intently. "I'm cold, fix it."
>>
- - - - - - - - - - - -

With Morgan propped between Maddy's back and your own underbelly, she snores, ans loudly as she drifts to sleep.

Everyone else stay awake, no one else seems to want to even pretend at sleep.

Madeleine's words from earlier hang upon the air... Where does an Akuma go where they die? Who would know? you all most be thinking.
Yet, you break this train of thought by offering memories of Ivan in the form of words... The truth is, the time you all had taken as a family was short, yet you won't forget your comrades' sacrifice. None of you will ever forget...

But the thought lingers...

Where DO any of you go...?

And... Where will you head to next?

Old camp? Also.

>[] Call everyone together for some camp fire tales + planning afterward

Time to get to know everybody better. Then we can go and plan what we'll be doing next.
>>
>>25704167
Just a thought: We know where we go when we die. Ivan told us, he said his will lives on in us. That Akuma we killed earlier? His power lives on in Madeline. We don't die, we live on in the dark matter hearts and minds of our fellow akuma, which is why we make so darn many of us. We are nothing without our family.

Feel free to say this if the thread approves and people look like they need cheering up...or at least steeling. (They kinda do)
>>
>>25704216
>[X] Call everyone together to...
-Remember Ivan

I think this is a good time to create bread memorializing Ivan. A sourdough as someone suggested before.

Personally I think, since Ivan was such a team player, so devoted towards his comrades and wanted them all to be the best they could be, that it should take their natural abilities, the things that define them, such as our furnace, Madeleine's aura/strength, Kama's sharpness, Schwere's gravity, and improve it. Might even work on Noahs as well. For Humans it'd probably weaken them, bring all of their weaknesses to the front.
>>
>>25704297
>>25704275
Ivan needs a memorial service. I especially like the sourdough idea.

An alternative would be a sort of beerbread, that makes Akuma feel warm and fuzzy but humans want to kill themselves. Seems like it would have a positive effect on our Akuma creation quota.
>>
>>25704216
>-Remember Ivan

Any trees or rocks nearby we could carve into a monument?
>>

>[] Call everyone together to...
Remember Ivan and then Brief them on what you'll do next.

We need to get our numbers back up. maybe head towards the next nearest town, keeping to the woods, but staying near enough to the road that we can see it. if a caravan of some kind comes by, we attack them, leaving only children behind, and then someone goes to them in human form and "comforts" them and gets them to make Akuma out of there dead loved ones. I personally think Kama should do it.

>>
>>25704262

The camp outside of Ruinebriar.

It still has some supplies and valuables that you couldn't get away with.
Though returning would likely be risky.

>>25704297
For that bread, I'll throw a bone with it. if Faefnir has time to experiment, the lose of Ivan will inspire a "sour" variation to the Black Bread.

>>25704339

That would actually be rather interesting.

>>25704394
All around.

>>25704403

That is SO evil...
>>
>>25704435
well, we have a sleeping Noah, so it'll have to be a quiet Memorial Service, unless you want to wait until she wakes up.

>>25704436

You gently lift Morgan from Maddie's back and cradle her before your furnace, wrapping your wings around her, you create something of a tent to keep the heat in.

Madeleine perks up, one of her golden eyes regarding you with interest before returning her head back to the ground.

You crane your head around, taking in everyone's visage.
Kama and the children sit together, their knees in the snow, the heat from their bodies slowly causing it to melt into their clothes.
Schwere's sits upon a rock with her eyes wide open, twiddling her fingers about, fidgeting. Likely, she's still restless from the thought of The Asher's pursuit.
Armbrust stands, looking at the mountain, his back to all others. He's facing the direction of Ruinebrair. He hasn't said anything since Ivan blocked what would've been his own killblow... perhaps he feels guilty?
Madeleine mopes about in her Demon-form, laying belly-flat in the snow.

"Everyone" The sound of your voice draws their collective attention, all eyes are upon you.
"Come around. Let us speak of Ivan. It is all on our minds."

They all assemble themselves in a circle, save for you, in your true form.
"There will be no fire in this storytime, for fear that the Asher follows. I will begin..."

Let's emphasize that while his death may hurt, we will move on. We will have to be more cautious, since we lost one of our lvl. 2's.
>>
>>25704595
[] Speak of Ivan's devotion to murders.

But seriously, let's not linger on his death, but on what he was to us all in life. Because our memory of him is all that is left to us. So let our only memory of him be his noble dedication to the cause and his loyalty to this group.
>>
>>25704595
[X] Speak of Ivan's devotion.

The murders are a given since all of us have killed our fair share. Talking about devotion might help solidify the family.
>>
>>25704595
[x] Speak of Ivan's devotion.
Speak of his devotion to the family and how he will be missed. Yet we must go on, for their is work to be to right the world Ivan left to us.
>>
>>25704595
murders, he landed some pretty sick shots.
>>
>>25704595
"Ivan was the best of us.

Where others may think solely of themselves he thought of others, he thought of us, his comrades, our family. He thought of our health above his health, our happiness and our bonds with each other were the most important thing in this world to him. Even when assaulted by the Innocence he thought of our safety before his own. And we shall miss him, for we have lost more than a friend, we have lost a brother.

But we can not cry over his loss, he would scold us for our tears. He sacrificed himself willingly, and so long as we remember him and do justice to his sacrifice he will live on within our dark hearts. He would have this bring us closer together, and when the Exorcist who did this dies at our hands it shall of been Ivan who killed him."

And then try making a nice sourdough for us to share to bring it all together.

The thought of Akuma being sentimental is weird when the few who examples we've had in the story were rare exceptions.
>>
>>25704921
I'd have to agree.
But if we were a mindless killing machine then this wouldn't be much of a quest would it?
>>
>>25704921
>>25704937
I see our big personality shitck to be about family and togetherness. We are a very wholesome akuma like that
>>
>>25704921
Maybe that's just because the Exorcists don't even think to ask or even think about it before they cruelly slaughter the Akuma.

I bet every single Akuma in those suicide swarms has friends, family, comrades, all cruelly wiped out by the vile Exorcists. They all have hobbies, likes, dislikes, quirks, all ignored so that the cruel Exorcists can look cooler on paper as they fight.

Or you know, liberties are being taken with the source material because it's kinda boring if we are nothing but a mindless killing machine.
>>
>>25704921
I like to think of it as the Akuma in this story have a different kind of programming, where they will try to blend in better by acting more human, especially when leveled up. I like to think this different programming is due to there not being as many Akuma being made daily versus how many are destroyed, so there are fewer of us over all.

but then again, this is my speculating.
>>
>>25704955
But if we were forced to chose which would it be, bread or family?
>>
>>25704971
A life built off of slaughter continued for the purpose of slaughter, and enforced to slaughter, isn't a life humanity needs.

The history of the human race.

What's the difference between one machine of murder from another?
>>
>>25704989
Have you seen Exorcists? What separates them from us, aside from the fact that they suck and we're awesome? They are just as much mindless beings of slaughter as we are.
>>
>>25705009
Opposite.
The history of the human race is to expand and multiply, while stamping out the opposition.
We're diverse enough not to consider others as ourselves, which leads to conflict within the species.
>>
>>25704980
One thing I'ven oticed about this quest and the show is that in the show, the akuma are winning, pretty clearly too. Here, the Black Order is in full swing, and there are even OTHER orders assisting in Akuma slaying. We are very much the minority here, so stealth is more important.
>>
>>25704984
Id say family. but thats just me, others may consider bread more important, but Ive always considered our devotion to our fellows to be a much more interesting trait.
>>

Black tears run down the eyes of the family, though Armbrust's face is turned away. You feel some from your own Oculars as well... Ah, it must be the rain.. Yes... the rain is black...

Madeleine raises her hand after wiping away her oil and you give her a nod to speak.
She stands up, in the middle, looking around to everyone before she begins.
"Ivan was always there for us. He often smiled and always had our interest in mind.. It will be difficult to find someone new. Though our dear friend, our brother won't be replaced. I... Umm.." Madeleine puts a hand to her arm and looks to the ground for a moment, thinking hard.. Harder than she usually does," We'll need to work harder... and together to make sure that this doesn't happen... Ever again... Never again..." She looks up, angry. now, her fists clenched and white. "Never again." She hisses from her teeth.

Armbrust looks up, black streaming down his face. The Akuma-tears have stopped running at Madeleine's declaration, and he makes his own. "Ivan will kill the Asher... Ivan WILL kill the Asher. I will live to see it through. We all will live to see it through... Isn't that right? Comrades?"

Not duke?
I suppose it's an opinion on translation.
>>
>>25705151
We'll probably have to decide where to go next, what are our options?
>>
>>25705232

True, I chose Duke over Earl. No real reason why other than to draw a difference from the original series.
>>
>>25705151
Now then, on to what to do next

We need to get our numbers back up. maybe head towards the next nearest town, keeping to the woods, but staying near enough to the road that we can see it. if a caravan of some kind comes by, we attack them, leaving only children behind, and then someone goes to them in human form and "comforts" them and gets them to make Akuma out of there dead loved ones. I personally think Kama should do it.

also, we should try not to destroy the wagon, and if possible, the contents of the wagon. hopefully they'll have clothes.
>>
>>25705151
Okay, I'm thinking that instead of just not leaving a trail we should lay a false trail for them to follow. Once we choose a destination we send Kama and the Kids off, they head about a day's travel in that direction, cause a fast line of destruction and slaughter towards that place, and then come back to us as we've gone in a different direction.
>>
>>25705373
>>25705307
We could do Bakanon's plan instead, though. Make a little army of Level 1 Akuma. Order them to raze everything they find in a general direction then, after a certain distance, to disperse and hide themselves in as many towns as they can reach.
>>
>>25705028
They, for the majority, have free will, and can give up their fight whenever they wish.
They were also built out of a need for protection, rather than in the Duke of Millenium's case.
Akuma are also made from usually an unwilling fusion between two participants, creating a blood thirsty monster, while Exorcists can become like that as well, their main purpose is to protect humans
>>
>>25705396
well, that wasn't the original purpose behind the plan. I want to keep them close to us, get the to specialize in certain things (not sure if we can force them, but I'm sure they'll listen to a "friendly" suggestiong.)
>>
>>25705400
Aaaaactually...Innocence gets kinda pissed when you let Akuma escape. The hatred between Akuma and Innocence is a two way street.
>>
"Let us.. speak of what we know.. from our body and soul's old lives. It may help us in the future... "

Scwhere looks to the side, slightly away and into the snow," That would be good... had I spoken of the Red Order, we would've been ready.. I didn't remember much of them until that night though, to be truthful.."

All eyes are on Schwere now, and she regains her usual "composure" despite black smudges upon her face.
"The Crimson Cross Covenant... It's first purpose was to control the practice of magic.. As sorcerers could very well be demons like ourselves.
The people have a mixed view of them, and they operate alongside the church, indoctrinating "Pure" Mages and branding them with the Rose Cross... The mark is red when it is done, and the blood is crimson.. Hence the mark of the covenant..." Schwere stands and lifts part of her robes, a brown woolen thing likely begotten by some powerless monk, to expose her chest.
She points at a healed over, disgusting mark on her breast almost as wide as her hand.
"This body bears the mark, if shown i will be known to them as one that has been indoctrinated into the order. I can infiltrate them, however if a given story is suspect, I will likely be put to the blade. For example, with the mess of Temes or Ruinebriar, It would be execution or thirty lashings for failing my sworn duty to god. The commanders are often gentle, right up until they suspect the taint of demon upon you... I'm sure you became well aware of their hospitality, Faefnir..." She looks at you and your response is but a low growl. Yoy still feel the pain of that Talisman in your body.. it felt as though your chassis were ripped off and then sautered back together again only to be ripped apart once more. How you stayed conscious... You can only attribute to your willpower.
>>
>>25705438
and when an Innocence feels that it's host has failed in the eyes of god, oh boy, you better watch out
>>
>>25705464
>>25705438
Power comes at a cost.
Every exorcist knows that.
>>
>>25705525
Yes, the cost is your free will and life, in most cases, literally.

Once accepted by Innocence, you become the Black Order's weapon, whose sole purpose is the destruction of Akuma. On the flip side of the coin, once created by the earl, Akuma are born to destroy innocence users. We are not so different, Exorcists and Akuma.

I'm holding out hope that we meet a nice and gullible exorcist, so we can twist that particular dagger nice and deep before we kill them.
>>
"I'm sorry.."
"For what?" You are surprised by Schwere... she rarely apologizes... for anything..
"I should have remembered earlier Faefnir, I put us all in danger." She looks down," I cannot remember the locations of their installations.. Or this body and soul never knew all of them... I am... sorry for that as well."

The others share their stories... You are already acquainted with Madeleine's as she goes on about being an exorcist that was killed by you, and how her host had found hope in Faefnir.. Everyone laughs at the part that she tells that the doctor came.
She carries on about the "finders" as they're called that work with the Black Order, seeking out Innocence, however in recent years they've not found a single new one... She taps her chin about that part, but lets it go to carry on about what a stupid whore her host was.
You laugh internally, after all, so much has changed...

Kama tells of how her host had been wife to a farmer that she had fallen in love with from her goings to the market.. She had once been a noble of Temes, however her heart belonged to a simple man of simple means. They had tried for many years to conceive a child, though in the end, they only had each other. And when her "husband" succumbed to sickness, she called for a doctor..

Armbrust's tale is short... he was a guard, on guard against bandits, ciivil unrest, and so on... His body's best friend was killed by a single black bolt to the heart. It scared him, and he felt the lonliness creeping in, he wanted his friend back, to help him against the dark of the night... And then he returned... His "friend" was always a crap shot anyway.

The children tell their story, that you chuckle about, already knowing their entire tale...

The night drags on with everone's stories... but now it's time for a plan... You still have the lady Noah with you... and the next closest "large town" is Florin, likely 4 or so days from here.
>>
>>25705625
we already met her. we now call her Madeleine.
>>
There's unknown to the north, likely you could travel until you came across the semblance of farmland or settlement, or something.

Southwest is Temes, a few days out.

South is Leeds, and London... High population areas... likely ripe with the Crimson Order as well...

>What'll it be?
>>
>>25705672

>>
>>25705659

>>
>>25705703

>>
>>25705703
...I can't help but remember that Morgan hasn't yet awakened, meaning she likely can't put on a human face yet. We need to find somewhere secluded to hole up while she completes her transformation...Perhaps fly around looking for a log cabin or other such rural dwellings?
>>
>>25705718

East.

North, East and South are your general options for travel.

The only thing left to the West is The Asher.
>>
>>25705703
lets go north.
>>
>>25705761
this is actually why I suggested we head towards some settlement, possibly Florin, keep to the woods but stay close to the road, and if we find a wagon of travelers, and attack them in a way keeps the wagon intact, and sparing any children (easier to convince them to make there loved ones akuma) hopefully the wagon will have clothes
>>
>>25705841
Okay, I say we send Kama and the Children South, not for too long, but enough to cause some damage that way and pull any trackers in that direction as the rest of us lay low. They'll catch up later, maybe at Level 2. They stay careful and run like fuck from any Exorcist types or other big dangers.

The rest of us head East towards Florin, find a nice caravan full of goods, kill the people off and steal it for ourself, and use that to lay low and look like wandering merchants or the like.
>>
>>25705841
I'm for going east, to Florin
>>
>>25705903
hm, I'd rather not split up the group, unless both groups had a lvl 2 leading them.
>>
>>25705841
I say we head East then, and make sure to follow the plan of 'find a caravan and loot them.' We shouldn't make the lady Noah walk.
>>
>>25705841
We should send someone out to look for small villages on the way to Florin. (probably us because we can fly) And feed off those villages being your average ghost story monsters until Miss Morgan awakens completely. Then we take the fight to the next town.
>>
>>25705908
after that, we should try to stay away from heavily populated areas for a little bit. North is safer, and we can devour some farmers as we go
>>
>>25705948
we also can't have her continue on in those rags.
>>
>>25705937
Maybe have Madeleine go with as well? And Kama is pretty much a hop, skip, and a jump away from Level 2 at this point, I think.

Between the 4 of them they can cause a major swath of destruction and then after that they lay low and run back towards us.
>>
>>25705969
we have no idea what's to the north. there could be nothing. there could be a lot of exorcists. I'd prefer to head for a place with a population.

>>25705985
that would make me feel more confident in that plan, for sure.
>>
>>25705979

good Idea. tell them to spare any children they come across, and then Kama comes in human form to "comfort" them and suggest a doctor
>>
>>25706482
I like your style sir... if at all possible, splatter the remains of their parents all over them before Kama shows up.
>>
>>25706090
Send the kids as a decoy. They can manage on their own as long as they stay away from big population center.
>>
>>25706537
well, of course. because otherwise, what's the point?
>>
You glance down into your wings at the sleeping Noah, wrapped in rags unfitting of one of her "birth."
You feel it would be well to fix her situation of clothing in the days to come, speaking of which.
"We head to Florin, it is East of here, It would be in our best interest to blend in there and perhaps find changes of clothes... Definitely for our honored guest. However, it is likely that we would be followed... Madeleine, you will lead Kama, Kralle, and Wendel south to create a decoy trail. we can't have that man following us, especially with our precious "cargo."
Return as soon as you've laid a noticeable trail, and leave survivors if you can. Their tale will increase the likelihood that they're thrown off."

Schwere looks to you,"If that Exorcist is affiliated closely with the Red, any survivors will be killed once they find them, unless they call the Doctor first..."
"That is well enough for us... We may create kin we'll never know, or they'll perish before ever being borne." You chuckle at the circumstance," Be quick. We will await here for the time, start the false tracks on the other side of the summit."

Kama whips herself into her demon-form and the three hop on," I'll be back soon, my dear Faefnir, Schwere. Don't get lonely without me~."
Kama whisks them away, and they're gone, your winds gusting past trees.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

The decoy had gone off without a hitch, Madeleine reported that they had slaughtered a traveling family and ripped apart trees here and there for a couple miles south. Well enough to give the exorcist "dog" a decent trail.
>>
>>25706537
Nah. We want then coherent enough to call for the good doctor.
>>
>>25706612
they only need to be able to call their parent's name with a blighted wish to bring them back no matter the consequences... I find it hard to see them doing anything else while covered in viscera.
>>
In human-form, the eight of you, Morgan included walk along the river upstream.
"It is this way to Florin, it sits by the river much like Ruinebriar. It is unlikely that they've heard much of its fate yet given how well you monsters cleaned up the runners. It's a modest place, I recall that my mother was born here. She died of plague within the last ten or so years. Good riddance, my dearest mother never really knew how to smile... Then again, now I wonder if this "Noah" thing had much to do with it. Oh well." Morgan stays close to you... very close to you. Perhaps it's because of your warmth, or.."Ah, she told me stories of how Florin was just a little fishing village resting upon a lake. Stories of a lady in the waters. Though those legends died out when the church investigated. Suppose they like to rid us of all demon business and wonderful little stories of the like I suppose? Well. I'm glad you've all done as much as you've done to them. Me, a witch? The nonsense." She looks to you with soft brown eyes, she's become much more attractive after being able to clean herself off," Though I suppose I did set a good lot of them on fire." She hums out a bit of laughter."

You feel Madeleine and Schwere's eyes upon you the entire time... Armbrust has the lead, Kama and her children right behind you, and Madeleine takes up the rear-guard with Schwere. It almost reminds you of your covered wagon, this setup... except for the absence of Ivan...

As a note, in my pre-emptive defense of Lady Morgan's flirtations...

You were essentially the prince-charming that saved her from the big bad evil dragon...

Though in this case, the Dragon that saved the incarcerated Devil from the knight of justice.

As for Schwere and Maddie, that may change... Though you are indeed the leader and for Madeleine, you personally assisted in her creation.

>>25707009

>yanderes everywhere.
>>
>>25706983
Just like there's always enough room in our oven for another loaf of bread there's enough room in our dark heart for every member of our little family, and I think Morgan kind of counts as an honorary member.

Alongside the river, you come across a small group of houses, likely a smaller fishing village than what Florin is.

The people here look happy overall... Kama and the children look upon them hungrily... it has been two days since the family's scratched their "itch." Though it seems that they may be able to manage through this...

Morgan says this means that you're less than a day from Florin...

How will you approach this?

>[] Slaughter everyone, burn it down.

>[] Skip the village, risk nothing going wrong.
>[] Slaughter a few covertly... you know... "For the road."

discreetly make a new stumpy. make sure to pick someone who won't be missed; let's not go giving the asher a clue as to where we are. I'm certain he's still trying to make a murder of us.
>>
>>25707141
[X] Slaughter a few covertly... you know... "For the road."

Make sure their deaths can be attributed to random chance, like a fisherman's boat going down and him never returning home, people disappearing in the woods, that sort of thing, nothing overt.

As for the rest use this as an opportunity to acquire funds, a wagon and horses if possible, that sort of thing. We can "acquire" them or the funds needed through less legitimate means if needed.

We'll want a few of us to try to catch up on local rumors, see what information can be gathered here.

And of course, we check for a bakery.
>>
>>25707141
Remember this place. If we have to leave a false trail, we could come here and kill every one for the quick experience boost and go in another direction.
>>
>>25707141
[X] Skip the village, risk nothing going wrong.

There will be enough killing once we get to Florin.
>>25707190

>>25707238
>>25707209
These two are more along the line of what we ought to do.
>>
I'd also like to bring it up now...

The Asher doesn't know the Family's human forms. The only two known are yours, and Morgan.

Your second form is his brother, with markings as a brother of the covenant upon his armor. You could also be damn well sure he could pick his brother out from a crowd.

Just letting you know, if you really want to evade him, even in close proximity, it may be worth it to get an inconsequential second form at the cost of losing the "stored" Crimson order guise.

Tiotally up to you though, just saying.

Also,
>500exp to spend.
>>
>>25707273

>>
>>25707279
yeah, I kinda planned on getting rid of that form. also, sweet, XP
>>
>>25707279
Smoke Magic and RPM for our Teeth.

I kind of like the form, it means we can pretend to be a Crimson Knight, but I can see why it'd be good to dispose of it later.

>>25707293
The decision that keeps her and our family safe. That's what would show her who we are.
>>
>>25707279
I say we upgrade Strength, and either the chain replacements or the pressure cannons.
>>
>>25707293
we aren't going for fun right now. we are going for stealth. we'll show her fun when we start travelling close to the road, find a family traveling in a wagon, slaughter the parents, then turn the children into akuma.
>>
[x] akuma these are solo sneaking missions. (Covert kills)
Also it has occurred to me that something odd may be going on with the akuma "Deaths" we never see the body and they all made same sound on dying. I'm thinking the exorcists have some kind of retrieval set up to send them to people who like Cross can mind rape(IE purify) them into joining the church. As it is we may wind up facing off against a deprogrammed and sane Ivan later on.

have you all forgotten? we must upgrade devil's luck and our oven to bring forth the darkness which watches over us! so I'd say devil's luck and pressure cannons, since that uses it all nicely. also, I want to see how hard we can cheese with devil's luck at a ridiculous level.
>>
>>25707436
We can't just upgrade one or two things, we don't want to end up cripplingly overspecialized, we need to get more tricks than just that.
>>
We're getting a little too Red Mage here, We need to focus on what our upgrades actually serve as. I move we upgrade our fire magic and creation furnace so we can blast furnace away weaker innocence weapons/armor.
>>
>>25707454
we can't do that. we have a "Creation Oven" not a "Destroying Furnace"
>>
>>25707279
So, we CAN change clothes....Does that mean we can take off the Asher brother's armor THEN lose the disguise? 'Cause if we can keep the armor....
>>
I've got an idea. What if we combine the pressure cannons with gravity magic to make a stream of blood oil that we can freely manipulate.
>>
>>25707474
that'd go nicely with the "heavy napalm" idea that was thrown around earlier. if noone else wants to upgrade the devil's luck, I'd say we should upgrade our gravity magic, since it does almost nothing right now.

Yes, you could record the armor onto a different disguise. However the corpse would need to be wearing the armor at the time of "recording" which is still crude in that you need to devour the thing whole.

>>
>>25707279
Smoke Magic and either RPM or Pressure Cannons.

In every single one of our recent encounters we've been setting fires and trying to choke people on smoke, ash, and poison, let's make further use of that.
>>
>>25707599

Main form vs secondary form.

Their appearance is recorded and replicated as is.

The main form can have new clothing installed, being ingrained in your machine memory. However the secondary memory is fickle and not as adaptive. Yet.
>>
>>25707652
good to know.
>>
>>25707652
Ah, I understand now. So if we took away our secondary form's armor THEN took in a new secondary form, the removed armor would disappear/disintegrate unless it was on the body of the new secondary form's corpse.
>>
You call the family to halt within sight of the town, Morgan still clinging to your arm, everyone gathers around and awaits your instruction, Schwere and Madeleine being the closest and most attentive...

"We will spend the night here... No killing until nightfall and people are asleep. It must look like an accident or leave no body, to say that they've gone missing. If you are caught in your demon form, flee and head west. But I'd rather none of us get caught. Understood?" You finish with a relaxed smile. Ivan's loss had been hard on everyone for the last couple of days, yet with this semblance of more human comfort, the blending in and killing might begin again.

After wrapping up Morgan's head, your family heads into the village, looking as tired and haggard as possible... The story is that you were all attacked by brigands upon the road to Florin from Ruinebriar.

A kindly older man takes you in and shows you around the village. it is indeed quite small, no more than twenty houses, and a small pier going out into the water for the fishermen.

"My name is Brant Fisher, have you been this way before?" His beard is thick and heavy like Ivan's, though far whiter and older. This man is getting on into the years.

The man introduces you to the families some of the families that live here, the Rosens, Yarders, and Higgins, to name a few.

They all show general hospitality and one women offers an old heavy dress to Morgan to show her hospitality... Much to the awakening Noah's joy.

You're all treated to dinner inside Mr. Fisher's house with his family of five kids and his wife.
"I've been lucky to have three sons, and two daughters... Especially to survive this far in this world.. It must be by the grace of god. Come, let us say grace." Their family folds their hands together and bow their head in reverence.. Morgan's nails dig into the table as she trembles, her forehead leaking red from her stigmata...

Well, it's technically true that God probably blessed them, so far. However, the family is quite sadly unaware of the fact that's it's a setup for a vicious sucker-punch later on. Suffering is greater after receiving kindness, and it's the sort of thing a hateful God would do.
>>
You eye Morgan intently, and her trembling only increases as her skin begins to darken, ever so slightly. You stand and walk around the table to Morgan, ushering in the stares of the Fisher family. "Ah, may we be excused? It seems that our dear Margarette needs to have her wounds cleaned, may we boil water upon your hearth? Need to keep her bandage clean after all.."

Mr Fisher looks on with concern," Is she alright? She doesn't look too good."
"Certainly dear, go right into the other room, you're welcome to it, if course." Mrs. Fisher rises from the table to escort the two of you.

"Thank you, no need to come along, the injury inflicted upon her, it is embarrassing to look upon, she'd rather no one else see."
The woman is taken aback, even as you feel Morgan's nails claw into your arm, her breath heavy and close to you," If there's anything... anything I can do..."
"We're fine, thank you for giving us a place at your table, your bread is beautiful."
Mrs. Fisher is taken aback," Well, why thank you."
You bow your head a moment and escort Morgan from the table and into the kitchen, her eyes twisted with a sour hatred. "They... They... Why does it hurt so much... Why don't they... Why don't they know of this... this feeling..."

You remove her bandages as you hear the dining and idle conversation take place in the other room, mostly led by Madeleine, with her new penchant for words
You look Morgan in the eyes, and put the bandages in pot of hot water, to boil the blood out, even as you take an extra cloth and wipe away the blood from her sixth Stigmata, the only one missing is a large one in the center to link the "crown."
>>
"Forgive them my lady, they know not what they do."
Tears begin to well up in her eyes from her surmounting pain, she grips your shoulder and digs her nails in. "Why, why is that? And why won't this... disgust go away.. I prayed every day to the same god that they do.. Every day, especially when my mother lay sick and dying in her bed... My only relief came when God finally took her, though now I feel as though... as though... it was God that made her suffer..." She speaks quietly to you... Hurried, and hushed.
"Then God made me suffer in the stocks, in the cold, in the prison... And an agent of God took my innocence... My only friends are monsters..." Her expression clears and her brown eyes go wide as if seeing you for the first time," My only friends..." She brushes a finger across your cheek as she smiles," Are monsters... That kill ignorant ones that hardly understand anything about the world."

The final Stigmata appears, and her skin shifts to a dark shade, far removed from anything constituting as brown... more of a dark Gray color. Her brown eyes light up with a yellow glow. and her schlera turns black, along with her long hair taking on a midnight blue.
"It took far too long for me to realize..."

"My Lady, you are now... Noah?"

She holds both of your cheeks, smiling widely, a mix of pure joy, with something beautifully sinister inbetween. She whispers through her teeth,"Yes."

You take her hand and kiss it with the touch of your human-form lips.
"It is my honor to have you with us."

"And it is my honor to have you as my loyal servant." The same hand caresses your cheek again.

If she can't change into looking normal we need to get her somewhere quiet and let her rest, if not we can rejoin the family and get to bed soon and then we can do some nighttime subtle kills.

Lets celebrate, but we shouldn't harm any member of the family of Mr Fisher.

He and his family must live on to see the truth about god.

Noah ARE pretty dangerous, but Morgan has just recently awakened. Before that, she was just an ordinary woman.
>>
"Do you know of the good doctor?" The first thing that comes to mind with her awakening. Yes, it'll do.

She looks at you with those eyes, as golden and pale as a rising full moon," I do not believe I have yet been acquainted... Is it Adam's new incarnation?"
The question puzzles you, visibly, and she sees it.
"Ah, so you do not know if that is his name... Adam would be your maker, and if he and the doctor are the same, then that would make sense, now wouldn't it?" She bends down to get a better look at you.

Your eyes stay locked upon hers. "I think I'd like to slaughter this family for this slight..."
The Asher is now the first thing that comes to mind," My lady, I.."
"The Asher, and your family, right?" She stands straight and tall, her skin reverting back to her human coloration. "I can wait. You've all been so kind, even without further orders.. And I heard your little service to the spider that died.. It was... touching... You've won my heart my dear. Twice now. Fetch me the bandages, otherwise they'll wonder."

You rise immediately and pull out the now clean wrappings, wringing them out," I am glad for your generous mercy my lady. I must say that you look more lovely now that you have awoken."
You begin to wrap the warm and damp cloth around her head gently," We shall celebrate this event in Florin, yes? A fine place for your coming into your heritage."
"Mmyes... That would do nicely. We can enjoy salted fish, maybe a bit of pork from a local farm.. other bitts of festivity and drink... and then we can create another Ruinebriar if the mood suits. What say you to that?"

"Sounds amazing, my lady."

She smiles, and begins to run her fingers through her hair to fix it around the bandages,"Good, when we are ready, in the morning, it will be a half day from here, we can get there by evening if we hurry,"
>>

No, no, you were right the first time. In this time period, the Duke of Millennium is masquerading as a plague doctor, rather than as a nobleman.
>>
>>25708968
He goes by either. Also earl.
...He has many names.
>>
>>25709149

We should make another Temes out of Florin if she wants a good celebration.

>>25709162

Have you read the latest d.gray man?
It look like the Earl whole appearance is a costume.
>>
>>25709149
So hey, the stigmata won't show on her forehead anymore, right? If my memory serves me correctly, after the awakening process finishes, the stigmata only show up in the Noah form.
>>
>>25709261
He's actually quite good looking.

I mean....if you're into older men.

And Morgan wasn't really there at Temes, which was why she said they'd make another Ruinebriar instead. Since she personally witnessed the slaughter there.
>>
Dinner carries on without a hitch, and Morgan is able to act far more natural now that her festering pain is gone. Now and then she steals glances at you between bites. of food and conversation. Schwere begins to chip in with some of her made-up stories.
Eventually the night truly does come. Fisher's boys give up their beds to Morgan, Schwere, and Madeleine sleeping in the same one, despite Maddie nearly insisting that the eldest son simply let her join in.

Kama takes a bed from the two girls, and sleeps with Kralle and Wendel at her side as usual.

You, and Armbrust take the wooden floor with the boys, a thick pelt as a blanket to keep "warm."

If there was any a time to slip out for a nightly murder, now would be it...

Armbrust, I think he could really go for a few good kills, he's probably still angry, he was very close to Ivan, and he didn't get kills along with Kama and the Kids.

Tell him to be careful, not to leave a trace or raise alarm, he knows the deal.

naah, can't be. I specifically remember the good doctor replying to a post that I made and stating that we werern't going to meet rhode first because of the path we'd taken. also I don't think rhode would be this nice (no offense to any of the noah, some of them just enjoy the company of their loyal toys more than others.)
>>
>>25709436
Oh, I misread that.

Then I suppose we could join her later after we do the rest of our stuff tonight if she's feeling cold or wants us there.

Also means if anyone checks in on her in the night we can keep an eye on the situation.
>>
>>25709387

She could be the wrath of Noah, as that would fit her fire theme.
>>
>>25709436

>>
>>25709471
I think it might be Lulubell, but that's just me
>>
>>25709486
I think we should sleep on the floor unless she specifically asks us to join her in the bed. it's hazardous to act too familiar with a noah.
>>
>>25709530
actually, I was kinda thinking that too. though we don't really see much of her personality in the manga, so it's hard to judge via that. but there aren't that many female noah.
>>
>>25709387
Guessing game!

She's got the ability to conjure fire. The only Noahs whose abilities we don't know are the Noahs of Pity and Judge, but neither really fit with what Morgan has shown so far. In which case, we can assume that you're not going to give the Noahs the same abilities as their manga counterparts.

Morgan doesn't seem angry enough to be Wrath, but it's a possibility (fire and lightning are both destructive and have apocalyptic roots).
>>
>>25709555
well, since Lulubell is the Lust of Noah... Yeah...

also, I like the depiction of Lulubell in the anime, if only for her relationship with the Akuma Mimi
>>
>>25709387
Well at least we know it's not Bondomu/Jasdevi.

My guess would be Rasutoru/Lulu Bell, mainly because of gender.

Powerwise we don't know much about a good number of them, could work with Rasutoru, maybe a modified Raasura/Skinn Bolic fire instead of Lightning. But she seems more lusty than angry.

Good, you are all sufficiently misled.

Now, for the course of action, I see that going out and slipping into someone's bed can be taken as two separate actions... however getting closer to Schwere seems to be a more dominant them here.

Any specifics on going about the stealth kills? Having Schwere lure people out and what-not? Or would you like to just send Kama and the children out?
>>
>>25709299
I'm for sending out Armburst and the kids. I'm confident that he can keep them in line, and they've been getting a bit itchy.

>>
>>25709681
we should have the family kill exactly half of them. in front of the other half. then run In while in our human form and tell them of a doctor we know who can help....
>>
>>25709738
Don't shit where you eat!

We don't need any rumors of a family having half of its members die after letting in a group of strangers to the town.
>>
Wow I must say it is interesting how we seem to have accidentally maneuvered our way into a harem situation. I mean seriously that was buried under like six feet of dialog prompts. Eh we should probably just go for the Noah if we have to choose because she can order the other two around. Truly god hath smiled upon our romantic endeavors no I am not saying God smiling at our love life is a good thing just that he is doing so
>>
>>25709681
Stick to the plan of faking natural deaths. Send out Kama and the kids.
>>
>>25709681
I personally say send Armbrust and the kids out, these seem like the most on edge people we've got, Armbrust because of his love of Ivan, the kids because they're the youngest of us.

But if we do go out for Stealth Kills, don't hit anybody in this house and don't hit many people. We make them disappear, find people who are alone and silence them quickly before taking them away for a more fun killing.

And spend some time with Schere and Madeleine, see how they're both doing, if they want to talk about anything.
>>
>>25709681

>>
>>25709681
I am curious good Duke, is her Noah power the known power of a Noah in the manga?

I guess her fire powers could simply be the result of magical knowledge and not Noah power.
>>
>>25709889

Some of the powers will be a bit different, though nonetheless impressive.

It could be said that the fire power is a result of magical knowledge.

With that said, what would your educated guess be?
>>
As you lay down upon the floor and under the heavy blanket, you gaze at the haze of the inky black darkness before you... Thoughts churn in your mind of the smoke that billowed out from the flames of Temes and Ruinebriar... Smoke and Ash follow flames... obscure vision, and choke the unsuspecting... You need more of that...

You feel your furnace of a heart change and feel the semblance of control over such vile emissions.. smog and otherwise... it is yours...

>Smoke Magic: Unlocked! Upgrading at the same rate of your Furnace Heart-Magic, this ability allows you to increase the density of of smoke, smog, and ash, and even disperse it as need be. (500 Exp To "Prestige")

You feel your body change, not your human one, the one beneath this facade. The cannon you bear seems to have gotten better at channeling pressure... you'll have better tange now...

>Pressure Cannons(2) Your cannons have upgraded for increased range and focused spray. They still can't generate a stoppinf dorce yet, however you could hit a target around fifty feet away with relative accuracy Further upgrades allow for machine modifications.(Located in mouth.) (300 exp)
>>
>>25710009
What exactly does Prestige mean and do?
>>
>>25709918
We can rule out a few, such as the one who have not been shown in the manga, Wisdom and corruption for having special physical characteristics.

That leaves us wrath, dream, lust and pleasure.

She didn't obviously use any noah power yet so its hard to tell.

She would fit lust, because of her gender and the fact that she adopted us as her loyal akuma, a bit like lust in the manga.
>>
>>25710072

Changes the ability, and upgrades it to a new form.
the upgrade is related to the flavor text included in it. You'll want it when you understand...
>>
>>25710092
did Lulubell have a loyal akuma she kinda adopted in the Manga? I thought that was an anime only thing.
>>
>>25710162
Maybe it was an anime thing only.

>>25709918

Anyway, I found another piece of evidence, Morgan le Fay from old litterature is known a shapeshifter. If her name is meaningful, she's probably the lust of Noah, who has the same power.
>>
>>25710237
because while it is an anime only thing, I very much liked it.
>>
Feeling restless from your new modifications, you rise once the humans have gone to sleep and you tap Armbrust, giving him point to head for the door.

With a nod, he does so, and quietly.

You notice that he wore a smile quite unlike his usual demeanor as he came to understand your intention.

Creeping into the room that Lama and the children sleep in, you see that Kralle has roused the feigning Kama at your sight, the children's eyes beam bright with joy in the moonlight that they had never really... worn before.

You point to the door and they slip out in turn, quiet as mice.

You slip outside just long enough to give them instruction," Kill them so it looks natural. If it's bad, get rid of the body, make it so it cannot be found. No collateral damage. Spirit them away."

Kama smiles the most at that, and the four creep away, silently.

With that, you begin to head to your own bed, yet.. the sudden thought pops into your mind... You wonder how Schwere's doing... The tragedy had been her fault in part.. You realize... Yet, certainly she would blame herself for Ivan's fall in battle... It may be time to speak with her, and remind her that it is not hers...

It is the Asher's.

You slip into the room, Schwere stares at the ceiling even as Madeleine has her arms wrapped around the poor demon-woman. Her head turns to regard you, and instantly you can see it in her expression.. "Help me."

You can't help but chuckle a bit at that.

After prying the slumbering Madeleine from Schwere, she insists on going outside.

You soon find yourself upon the docks with the mage, her new robes plain and lightly worn. She takes a seat at the edge of the waters, and lets her feet dangle meer inches from the spray. You do the same, though you have a sickly feeling in your heart, that as a fire-type, you would rightly be weak to such a... watery attack. . .

Roll 1d100
>What do you speak to Schwere about?
>>
I also hope that the "romantic" implications felt a bit more... natural.

I stated before that they wouldn't ever become central to this quest. Nor do I wish them to be.. however this is a cooling down perioud after the tragedy you all suffered at Ruinebraiar and it'd be nice to get to know them better...

To carry on their memory... After all... Hehehehehe...

I wonder what a critfail would have done.

I imagine her confessing our love to us then trying to muder us and the family out of jealously.

You so Yandere Schere.
>>
You look to Schwere, with her dark brown hair falling in front of her face and down her back in a tie. She is quiet, a usual thing, though you feel the tinge of guilt that she bears, and put a hand upon her shoulder to give comfort in that.
"Are you alright? You've been quiet the past couple of days Schwere."
She stares at the rippling waters of the river, moving slowly and steadily despite the cold,"I am often quiet, Faefnir, you know this."
You watch the waters with her for a moment," Yes, though you have been quieter than usual.. If this is about Ruinebriar.."
"It is. Ivan's demise is my fault... I feel... guilty." She shakes her head and nervously plays with her fingers.
"It isn't your fault..." Wrath festers inside you at the loss of Ivan like a rotting wound," It is The Asher's. Your action had nothing to do with it.. he is the one that killed Ivan."
Schwere stops suddenly, and looks to you in the light of a waning moon," The fault is not mine... It is the Asher's..." She dwells on that for a moment before smiling. "Well, it'll be my fault when I crush him, right? It'll be my fault then..." She begins to giggle, like a little kid, though only for a moment before she returns to her usual stoicism, and looking at you deeply again," Faefnir... I wanted to let you know. The family still has three Level 2's..."
You look at her quizzically before you slowly begin to understand," Wait.. when?"
Schwere looks back upon the waters," This soul screamed out at witnessing the death of those in the Crimson Order when we took to the town... I took the time to crush more than a few men with their own armor... It was delightful, powerful... Next time we're in the wood, alone on the road, I might show you, hm?" You see more character in Schwere's face now.. Though her stoicism returns abruptly once more.
"Why haven't you told me? or anyone else?"
"Not the right time... I'm happy that we had this chat though..."
>>
The mage pulls her legs in from the dock and stands, turning to leave, you grab the hem of her robe, bidding her to stay, and she looks down at you.
"What do you think of the Lady Noah? Morgan?"
Schwere looks on ahead," She's beautiful, I'm glad that we've saved such an esteemed member of our side in this war. Though Faefnir... I'd like to say something..."
You look back and up to her, letting go of her robe, as she speaks," I'm sorry, if I'm ever in your way."

She returns to the cabin, seems that she's well enough at suppressing her instinct for now.. You wonder how the kids and Kama are doing...

Likely they're fine...

You have time to seek out a victim tonight...

Thanks for the thread. Sweet dreams, Duke.

Also, I assume for bread, the cost to make one is 1 unit?

And good night to you, milord.

Dream of delightful darkness, dearest duke.

Depends on the product and the effect.
Black bread: 1
Binding Broquette Baguette: 2

I'd like to suggest that Camaraderie be upgraded to 2 due to the increased solidarity of the family now.

I forgot to ask, what type of bread did Mrs. Fisher make earlier?

How boring, we need new varieties of bread, new art to make. Any reasons I had, other than pragmatism, to allow her to survive have been rendered moot.

Perhaps the Fishers will find bed....

with the fishes?

I'm hoping that stays a constant once we hit Level 3 and gain the ability to grow mouths anywhere. It'd look cool having cannons and pipes jutting out of orifices located all over Faefnir's body.

At Creation Oven level 1, we could only make bread. At level 2, we could make pastries. I am not sure what the difference is, but I assume the latter is sweeter.

Well, judging by their name they are fishermen. It would be a crying shame if their boat happened to sink, it would just take a hole in the right place and maybe some extra weight forcing them down and not letting them out of the water.

Pastry tends to be sweeter, more fat and butter, a flakier or crumblier texture, and often are used as a delivery mechanism for various fruits, creams, and other sweets.

Pastries are sweet and soft.

Croissants, bear-claws, cinnamon rolls.. things like that would constitute.
Often sweet and delicious!
