You are Princess Lydia Tannhäuser Von Cygnus Gates the third, second in line of succession to the throne, duchess of Tannhäuser, and executive director of the Royal Rocketry Corps of Midland.

You are currently attending a solstice party hosted by your mother in Stonefield, midland's holiest astrological site and the future location of your new radio telescope.

What shall you do next?

>Continue conversing with mother
>Find out what Amelia is up to
>Try to figure out which of the guests are the masked figures that you met two years ago on the castle rooftop.
>Find the members of the parliamentary committee on military spending.
>Get cake!

It is turn 12, there are 4 tuns until the begining of typhoon season. Your satelite map will be finished in 2 turns. Budget for this turn has been spent. You have no luck points remaining.

We should either talk to Amelia, or speak with the committee for mroe funds.
>>
>Find out what Amelia is up to

Let's see whether she's met anyone interesting. Wasn't she the one who found Klaus originally?
>>
>>25686602
No, Klaus was introduced to you by the Dean of the Westrin academy.

You decide that the refreshments table is a good place to find Amelia unfortunately she does not seem to be there. You take a slice of cake and look around the field wondering where she might be.

Where will you search.

>Around the Sarsens
>Among the crowd
>Behind the tractors
>give up?
>>
>>25686717
She's always been chatty, let's try the crowd.
>>
>>25686717
>Among the crowd
Amelia is the sociable sort.
>>
Well, the crowds might be it. Though I expect another encounter if she's not there.
>>
You shuffle back into the crowd with the Colonel escorting you. No sign of Amelia here either.
You do however bump into Lady Ethelstan and a small group of noblewomen and servants, who curtsy as you approach. "How do you do your highness? And congratulations on the hearing Colonel."
>>
>>25687036

We are well, but it's thanks to you. Now that the hearing is done and over, I'm worried about the typhoon season and the damage it will deal to the RCC.
>>
>>25687468
"I see, are the storms particularly strong in the western isles? It seemed quite pleasant when I visited." Ethlstan asks.

"Only during typhoon season. We got hit by two last year and it did quite a number on us. I'm sure the men will be able to handle it now that we know what to expect." The Colonel explains, both to you and Ethelstan.
>>
>>25687622
Uh... is there anything particularly *to* say here? Would it be appropriate for us to agree with the Colonel and then politely move on to try and find Amelia?
>>
>>25687732
Not feeling any need for smalltalk you politely excuse yourself and move along. The Colonel asks you what you are doing and if you are looking for somebody?

Where shall you look next.
>Sarsens
>Tractors
>Get more cake
>Give up?
>>
>>25687956
"We are looking for Amelia? That girl is usually at the center of attention."
>>
>>25687956

"Searching for Amelia. We need to find out what she's planning next."
>>
>>25688482
>>25687956

If the Colonel does not know where she could be, we shall look for her in the Sarsens.
>>
Rolled 10, 4 = 14

You wander into the standing stones. The sun has set by now, and it's getting pretty dark. The sarsens were errected by the first king of Midland and have been used by the astrological society for thousands of years.

It's pretty eery out here between the stones and away from the party.
>>
>>25688556
You think you hear something moving behind one of the stones.
>>
>>25688585
Oh please be Sir Harker. Also is the lord protector with us?

"H-hello there!"
>>
>>25688621
The Lord protector is somewhere, probably, you aren't sure.

You think you hear a giggling noise, maybe it's just the wind resonating through the stones.
>>
>>25688672
(well giggling isn't too threatening, unless they are a crazed manic that enjoys killing.)

"Amelia, is that you? I have been searching for you all over the place."
>>
>>25688727
No reply. Smith isn't amused by this and draws his service pistol and starts to walk towards the Sarsen.
>>
>>25688754

lets keep our back to colonel Smith and keep watch of the way we came.

(paranoia time)
>>
Fuck being careful, go in see what's going on.
>>
"Strange, There's a mask back here, and a letter addressed to you your highness."

You think you might see some movement heading back towards the party.
>>
>>25688877
Well, this is interesting. Do we recognise the mask as being one of that secret society's masks? And what does the letter say?
>>
>>25688877

"Oh that gave me quite a scare, everything is alright now. Just some fools that once posed a threat to our space program quite like the general, except they are far more friendly."

Time to read the letter. Most likely filled with either congratulations and/or words of wisdom."
>>
>>25689014
I believe we're not supposed to tell Colonel Smith about these guys. We did make a royal promise to keep their secret.
>>
>>25689069

We're not telling him who they are specifically, just that we know them and they aren't a threat.
>>
>>25689014
Smith sighs and puts his gun away.

The mask is the same you wore two years ago. The letter is from Lilith again. And it tells you to appear in the center of the stone circle at midnight. Again coming alone.
>>
>>25689295
How long do we have until midnight? We should still track down Amelia and enjoy a little of the party with her before we have to go off to our meeting.

((Also, I think I'm going to have to turn in for the night. Sorry, but it's nearly half past 5 in the morning on this side of the pond.))
>>
>>25689295
Lets do as it says but enjoy the party while we still can. This time we can effectively tell the others. Our theory of life outside our planet.
>>
>>25689340
The party is starting to wind down. You imagine the society is among the guests, waiting for everyone else to leave before donning there masks.

There will be a few hours before that happens. Where will you go to next?

>Find mother
>Find Amelia
>Find Cake
>Something else?
>>
>>25689453
Find cake. Last time we looked for someone we were crypticly invited somewhere.
>>
Incidentally, you bump into Amelia at the refreshments table, she offers you the last slice. "Hey where have you been? You just missed the two cutest boys." She exclaims.
>>
>>25689791

"Looking for you!"

Ask her how she's doing, then talk about random stuff.

I seriously have no idea what Amelia is for, besides eyecandy.
>>
>>25689826
She's our best friend, that's what she does.
>>
"Oh it's been a wonderful party. Getting pretty late though, These stones get real spooky once the sun goes down. They say they hold the souls of dead warriors." She waves her hands and makes a "Woooo" noise.
>>
>>25690304
"I doubt that, but I wouldn't try to offend them by trespassing. Come on we should retire for the night and you can bore me with descriptions of the boys you saw tonight."

Hopefully she falls asleep before midnight.
>>
>>25690433
"Ahh, I have uh, something I needed to do." Amelia excuses herself. "See you in the morning i guess!"
>>
>>25690581
"Bye then, see you in the morning and be careful there's a weirdo in the area."

This is far too convenient, but never look a gift horse in the mouth.
>>
>>25690678
"Oh my, you must tell me more of this weirdo in the morning." She runs off.

A few hours later you excuse smith and don the mask, waiting in the center of the stone circle. It's really dark at first and for a while you think you've been put up, but then your eyes adjust to the lack of light and you can see the stars. Then you notice the masked figures standing by the Sarsens. "Welcome Luna." The Mask of Gaia speaks with your mother's voice. "What secrets have you discovered in your journeys amongst the stars?"
>>
>>25690818
"The simplest way to put things is that we are not alone in this world. The foe stars have also been recorded and seen by the native islanders near the RRC's base. We have also determined that the foe stars are using reactive explosives for propulsion(correct me if I'm wrong)
>>
>>25690947
You are correct as far as you know. The only thing you know of that is as hot and as small as the foe stars would be a radio reactive explosion. The only difference is it is sustained instead of a single burst.

The mask of Wodan speaks next. It's an old man who reminds you somewhat of your father, although it is definitely not his voice. "And you seek to use this device to communicate with them? Using your lunar probes to hide it's true purpose."
>>
>>25691258
I seek to observe them first. We have no idea if they are peaceful or much like the huns, exploring for new plunder. What ever the case, unless we don't work on technological gains across a global scale then we might be in a lot of trouble. Also I know my statement right now conflicts with what general Clay wanted, but I didn't want to change the space race to change to an arms race.
>>
>>25691258
I think we are the only ones here god mother...
>>
>>25691428
That's what happens when it gets late sadly.
>>
Allright, I'm calling it a day and archiving. See you on Saturday.
>>
>>25692011
Night God Mother.
>>
This game seems to have lost a lot of readers. ;_;
>>
>>25694896
My electricity cut out halfway through last night. Not much I could do then.
