Sudden idea how to lure Mao, why not have C.C. be the bait. We let Zero think he can use mental static to overwhelm Mao and finish it up close. Lulu, the magnificent bastard he is, will go into a long-winded victory monologue before being laid low by Mao. BUT BEFORE THAT CAN HAPPEN, we have a sniper that neither C.C. nor Lelouch know about pop the brat's chest cavity from 600m out on a high vantage point of his (the sniper's) choosing just before the killbox is formed.

In that case we can make an appearance, assuming we're still around and not in India having a dalliance with Rakshata, and basically flout the whole plan privately to Mao and he won't be able to dodge the bullet... unless he takes C.C. or Lulu hostage.... shit... better off just staying out of range and observing from our own vantage point with a relief sniper we trust on our coattails in case the first one is paid off and tries to take out Lulu, C.C., ourselves, or simply cannot make the shoot because of listed and unlisted extenuating circumstances.

C.C. is also immune to Mao's mindreading. The only reason why we'd keep her in the dark is so that she wouldn't go soft and try to save him.
