"Incubator." A young woman with long black hair greeted you as you landed on her balcony.

~Irregular. Have you completed the task?~ You find yourself asking. She nods.

"The Saints have been eliminated, as have their followers. We don't have to worry about any more problems coming from their area. I can cover the Demons there for now, but I would appreciate it if you could replace them quickly." She said, slumping into a chair with a sigh.

~I may be able to convince the Ayasae girl or Oriko to move in.~ You muse. The dark haired woman, the Irregular, grunts at the mention of the second girl's name. ~I know you dislike her and her, ah, assistant, but they are very efficient. As well, it is not as if you will need to deal with them regularly.~ You admonish her.

"I know. How are Kyoko and Mami holding up?" She asks.

~They have everything under control, but they asked me to let you know you're welcome back with them at any time. Honestly, if you did it would allow for enough increase in efficiency that I could move you three about as a whole team for some of the more problematic areas.~ You informed her.

"Maybe someday. For now, though..." She mumbled.

-------

You groggily blink your eyes awake in the morning, trying desperately to commit everything from your most recent dream to memory, desperately seeking to learn whatever you can of your engimatic servant. As you sit up, you remember that you wanted to check out that leyline in the old school.

Since we haven't seen or heard from john in a few days, lets exercise caution, bring Sayaka and someone else, preferably Ayase, since then we have close and long range answers.

Seconding this, although I want Ayase there because she's a Caster and would be more likely to pick up on things than we are, not because of the ranged support.

...Ayase is the Caster, right?

A dream of the world post-madoka. Nice. Is candeloro stable for the moment? Don't want to risk setting off that damned counter force.

"Candeloro, would you mind staying here to guard our home with Caster? Ayase, Sayaka and I are going to go out and scout the old school." You ask your volatile servant.

"If you wish, Master." She says with a sly grin.

"Thank you. Sayaka, Ayase." You command. The two get up from where they had been eating and disappear into their Astral forms. As soon as you feel their comforting presence near you, you depart for the school.

It's a rather long walk to the school from the nearest bus stop, and so its a little past noon when you finally arrive. And as you approach, you see a shadow moving in one of the upper rooms.

Counter-force is hard as hell to set off dude. Like Angrymanjew about to wake up and destroy the world only barely set it off. So we should be fine there until there is so many witches around that a vast majority of the world is threatened.

Paranoia is best friend with survival. send in a mini-familiar if we have one available, otherwise, caution.
>>
>>25441965
Counter force is not foreign to the concept of subtlety. Events were pushed, subtly, in the direction of dealing with the Angry Jewish Fellow with pieces that were already on the board. Counter Guardians get summoned when those pieces fail.

An example of setting it off would be like what happened to Bluebeard. Suddenly every servant is out to get him.
>>
>>25441965
Correction: Counter-Guardians are hard as hell to set off. It would take a witch of Kriemhild Gretchen's strength to get them to mobilize.
The counter-force is slightly different, if I'm remembering KnK correctly. The counter-force is more subtle, and leads the right people to the right place at the right time to try and stop disasters. The counter-force is the reason why Enjou escaped in Paradox spiral and met Ryougi.
In PMMM, the counter force would probably act by making girls who would be natural witch-hunters make a contract (Mami) or push magical girls in the right direction to stop disasters (Oriko getting a vision of Gretchen and wanting to kill Madoka).
>>25442030
Ah, okay, I was remembering it correctly then.
>>
>>25442106

Yeah but even then it takes a while to Mobilize the counter-force. It can help yeah but normally only if it knows for certain bad shit is going to go down if it doesn't. Just a witch really isn't all that big of a threat to the world. Now if that witch started to multiply at a massive scale we would have a problem. But we don't want that either so more likely it would help us kill it instead of attack us.

Hell if we had control we could probably make her make even hundreds of other witches and we would be fine. It is only once it notices things are going to spiral out of control that it starts manipulating people.

You approach the school slowly and quietly, sneaking up to the door while keeping a wary eye on the shadows in the upper rooms. As you make your way closer, you can hear old floors creaking as someone moves about. You try to carefully time your movements to coincide with theirs, so as to not be heard when the boards under your own feet creak. It takes you some time to get up to the second floor this way, and when you do you hear someone mumble something.

"...Insufficient...disastrously lacking in quantity....tainted..." A soft voice mumbles. There was one last creak and grunt and silence reigns. After a tense moment of waiting, you head to one of the windows and look out to see a glimpse of something purple disappearing into the woods on the way back to the city.

Call Tomoko. Assassin always tends to keep an eye on us, she's best for intel gathering anyway. Let a real assassin shadow the enemy. My only worry is that it's daytime so she can't use her anti-bitch NP. Make sure she's extra careful and if she thinks she's being led into a trap to back off. Her life is more important than intel.

Getting that balance would be pretty difficult though, especially as every last witch would have to die before we kill coobs to finish the grail. If even one witch or familiar sticks around, without a Magical Girl to take it down, they're going to slowly spread out of control.
Then again, I have no idea how effective Enforcers would be against a witch's familiars, if enforers could even find them.

>e kill coobs to finish the grail.

Eh thought we weren't after the root only a wish? 6 servants is enough to grant any wish imaginable. Only reason to kill cubes is if we want to rip a hole to the root and risk ceasing to exist.

Though yeah we really don't have to worry all that much about the witch. It takes a while for them to spread using familiars so we have lots of time to erase them and the counter force is slow to act normally. So if it did act it is most likely after the war is over anyway and most likely via manipulating a powerful mage or something like that.
>>
>>25442276

>>25442565
The counter force will activate the instant that bitch goes off the reservation. She must be informed of this fact so she doesn't just go around eating people/causing mass suicides like she really wants to.

Just remember, the counter force likes to be subtle. It will manipulate events against us and her with the pieces already present on the board. Only when all of those pieces have failed to stop her do we get Counter Guardians shoved down our throat.

>>25442582
Or he could be talking about our magic Circuits. That was my impression anyway.

You pull your phone out of your pocket and quickly call Tomoko.

"Assassin speaking. Tomoko is a little...indisposed right now." Her Servant answers softly.

"Just watched someone leave the old school, they seemed a little suspicious. I was wondering if I might convince you to try and track them for us?" You asked her.

"Very well. Can you tell me anything about them?"

"Soft voice, probably feminine. Saw a glimpse of purple, headed back towards the city through the woods. Probably on foot, judging by the lack of sound."

"I will do my best to cut them off, then." Assassin replied.

"Oh, and Assassin? Do be careful. We value your life more than any info you could attain." You tell her.

"...Very well." She says softly before hanging up. With that taken care of, you retreat back into the husk of a building and begin to more closely inspect the leyline. You find Monster's summoning circle, still inscribed in the ground and a rather amateurish piece of work. But it suits the touch of this line well, and is probably what allow John to even successfully summon in the first place. The circle's writing strongly indicates that John's own magic was warped by the same incident that tainted the leyline, probably giving him an unnatural ability to successfully integrate his ritual into it. It would also seem that this natural corruption might have been what led to Monster being summoned, as otherwise this circle seems more suited towards forcing a Caster or Assassin class Servant. Still, this circle is a thing of art for being so primitive, and you doubt that your own magic could as easily tap this leyline.

Little bit longer then once she goes off. Hell the only route nasu really mentioned the possibly of the counter force manipulating is heavens feel. So it is very possible it wasn't doing anything at all in the other two routes. If it starts manipulating then that means it literally can't see a way other then that to stop a world ending threat if it thinks it is likely we will just kill it later on it won't do anything until it is absolutely sure things are going to go to hell if it doesn't start acting subtle it is careful like that.

I say we trap it with the equivalent of bombs and surveillance equipment. Let someone else try and tap it, see what happens to them. If they do so without incident we kill them and take it for ourselves. If they fuck themselves then hey, we're more than happy it wasn't us.

>>25442732
You need to read/watch Kara no Kyoukai. Araya got boned by a subtle counter force. And yeah, in HF the pieces had a very good chance of failing to stop Angry Manjew from being born. In Fate and UBW things worked out quite swimmingly. Hell in Fate Shirou didn't even need to tap hard into Archer hax. In HF, he had to cheat using the arm. Shit like that man.

There are two things that count, Power and Style. For the CF Style=Subtlety. And in a pinch, Style can slide. It merely *almost* did in HF.
>>
>>25442692
I think we should take a closer look at the leyline and try to figure out what warped it. If not now, then later with Caster.
A tainted leyline isn't a good indicator of a pristine grail, especially since the Grail draws for the leyline in between wars.
I say we trap it for now, and come back later with Coobs.
>>
>>25442856
A most rational idea. Coobie is a far better magus than we are. Trap it in case somebody gets any ideas in the meantime. Like I said, let them tap it. The INSTANT they do so without incident we spring the trap and kill their bitch ass. And if they screw themselves over we still kill them, being very thankful that, because of our wise decision, we did not end up in their very unenviable shoes.
>>
>>25442798

Yeah. But Araya wanted the root which the counter force absolutely refuses to let happen so if you have a real chance at that it goes all out subtle on you. But normally it won't unless you have a really high odd of ending the world. It is very reactive now if we do something stupid like mass produce witches we have a problem. But normally witches only produce so fast and will take a while for it to become a threat that is too risky and would need some string pulling. Not saying it is impossible but even if she did started mass murdering as long as the witches didn't start spawning so fast that it became a risk we would be fine.

>>25442692

Personally if I knew the leyline was safe I would summon a servant over top it and let her defend it. A bomb and the like isn't going to be much use because a servant can easily block that from the master. Unless the master was kind of dumb and rushed in without one.
>>
>>25442912
Attaining the root does NOT set off the counter force. Others have done so before without incident. It is only if you attain it in such a way that you extinct humanity. Above all else the CF has one, and only one, goal. That goal is "Ensure the Survival of the Human Race". It is much like Kyubey. That commandment is its one rule, the one thing it *must* do, by ANY means necessary.

Araya's plan was to end humanity and preserve a record of its existence. As that necessarily involves the extinction of humanity he set it off.
>>
"Ayase, do you know any magic good for setting up a trap?" You ask.

"Sadly, I do not." She says, appearing on the opposite side of the crude circle from you.

"Pity. Well then, I guess I'll have to do this on my own." You mutter, pulling out a few lumps of steel and iron. With a whisper you set them on the ground and they begin to meld and flow into the cracks on the floor, repairing the old circle you had left behind that Monster had wrecked and expanding. Now, you should be able to survey the area and repel any intruders that may attempt to use the circle. With that done, you still have about half a day left.

But she's also a bit lonely. Hell the GM has pretty much spelled out that she's a blatant expy of the Tomoko in pic related! She wants us to check on her, say she's cute, and otherwise make her think she's awesome and that we like her in *that* way.

Which she really IS from a magus perspective. Her Marble is comparable to UBW. It's broken to hell and back, and that is very much a GOOD thing for us. Plus hey, she's come to us more times than not. We only checked this time because we care.
>>
>>25443337

So moe!!

Also it is more broken then UBW. Shirou himself mentions that as a normal magus he can't fight any servants but one in UBW. This chick actually held them back really well and might be able to kill one.
>>
>>25443374
Shirou as he was with only the marble could only beat Gil. If he really became Archer fully he could beat most any servant because UBW+totally awesome body reinforcement=WIN!
>>
>>25443414

Archer is mid tier as servants go. Main issue he has is the absurd prana costs of his heavies and it takes time to use UBW.

Best use for archer is actually to shoot a master in the face from 5-6 KM away. Mainly because in close range any really good servants will mess him up good. But he loves to hide his sniping trick from people.
>>
>>25443374
Shirou could probably take on more than just Gil with a bit more training. After all Gil isn't the only Servant that UBW is naturally strong against, he's just the most extreme example.

I mean Shirou went from being just some dude to punching out the King of Heroes in what, like two weeks? Imagine what he could do if he trained his skills for a few more years.
>>
You leave the old school behind and head off to your hole in the wall base. Once there, your two Servants reappear and head off to patrol around the area. Caster looks up from his spot on the bed next to your other body.

"Caster, you said something about a soul stabbing the other day?" You asked him.

~Ah, yes. Something to that effect. It's more akin to the remnants of Archer's Reality Marble are attempting to attack your own soul. The strength of a Servant's soul is many times that of a normal human's, and so when you activated the Reality Marble so quickly it burst through several of the containment procedures I had placed on it. Now, Archer's soul is attempt to express itself full and manifest. The only thing preventing that from happening is your own natural metal element allowing your soul the strength to resist and Gaia's rejection of Archer's reality.~ Caster informs you calmly.

"I see...can this be fixed?" You ask him.

~I have no means to fix it available to me, but it is possible. We would need something with the ability to suppress an outside influence or possessions, and the Archer body would have to be mostly wrapped within it. From there I may be able to replace some of the broken safeguards. It is likely that you would never be able to fully manifest the Reality Marble, but you could tap its repositories. Either way, it is probably too dangerous for you safely move back to that body for now. As well, it will be risky for me to modify any further bodies for you as long as this problem persists.~

"Are there any other ways?"

~Kill Archer. Once her soul is dragged fully into the Grail itself, the influence her soul is attempting to exert on yours will disappear. The safeguards I placed in your own soul will keep you from being dragged in as well.~

"I see. Thank you." You mumble. It sounds like you might need assistance from someone in the Church.

>>
>>25443498
Damn that bitch and her mind of steel. Do we know of the Shroud of Martin? That'd work nicely.

If not I sadly suggest we off the Archerko Body. We can still experiment on the lower strata of society, murderers and rapists and whatnot. We can still be psuedo-good by delivering a twisted sense of JUSTICE upon the world...
>>
>>25443498
I say just kill Archer and get it over with.

We don't have any contacts at the moment that could help us with this, and we've got too much shit to worry about already without the danger of a pissed-off Archer regaining control of her body at an inopportune moment.

We'll have to kill her off eventually to feed the Grail anyway, and I don't see us having the time or resources to fix this before the conclusion of the War.
>>
>>25443498
we need to find a priest with knowledge of the hidden world.... visit churches perhaps?
>>
>>25443498
Because the church would be totally okay with a Magus moving his soul from body to body, and would certainly help a magus regain the power to posses another Servant's body and overpower their soul.
>[]Kill Archerko, tell coobs to trace where the soul goes to try and find the lesser grail.
>>
>>25443498
Let's go to church. Was it not stated in Character Selection that Rook regularly attends as well? We may also be able to find the Overseer there.
>>
>>25443486

Main issue shirou has is he is limited to normal human prana levels and experience levels. Archer got a massive boost from his contract and many more years of experience. He could most likely take down some servants with it. But get someone like Saber/Berserker/Lancer and he will die really quickly. They are just too good at dodging and attacking for him to react with normal human reaction times and skill level.

>>25443498

>>
>>25443583

>>
>>25443577
As an addendum: This would be a good time to observe the death of a Servant in a controlled setting. Never know what you can learn from watching things die.
>>
>>25443619

Oh yes..Now there is a idea. Since cubes knows so much about souls could he use the soul in anyway to fuck with the grail?
>>
"We should kill her, then. We don't have the time or resources for dealing with this problem. As well, this gives us a chance to observe where her soul guys and, perhaps a chance to find the Grail itself." You say.

~This is a most fortuitous opportunity. I shall prepare to do so.~ Caster answered, ~Sayaka, if you would not mind?~

The blue haired woman came over with a slight frown, her sword drawn and at the ready. "Ah, before I forget there seems to be some kind of corruption on the leyline at the old school and it would be appreciated if you could check it out." You tell Caster.

~I shall endeavor to do so at the earliest opportunity. Sayaka, you may proceed when ready.~ Caster replied, eyes closed in concentration. Sayaka swung down sharply, cleanly beheading Archer. A small circle glows underneath Caster as Archer's body and blood fade from sight. His eyes suddenly snap open again. ~I followed it for quite a distance when something else grabbed it and it changed direction. Something else is tapped into the Grail system.~ Caster informs you, his piercing red eyes boring into you. If you didn't know better, you would say he was worried, ~Master, may I proceed?~

Alternate theory: Its not a Grail Hacker, its whoever organized this War in the first place. This entire thing is a set up, and whoever is managing this War never had any intention of letting any of the Masters win.
>>
"...Proceed, but do so cautiously. Don't let them know about us yet, if you can help it." You tell him. He nods, and his eyes close again.

~It's strange. There's...there is more than one connection. The strongest connection, the one that took Archer, is merely a filtering system. From there, I have problems following the paths without risking being pulled in myself, but there is one inactive connection and several dormant connections. The closest is deep in the bay. The others are across the ocean or across the land, too far away for me to currently tell.~ Caster informed you. As the glow beneath him faded, he opened his eyes again. ~I apologize, Master, but I was unable to find the current location of the Lesser Grail, or if there even is one. But I believe the central Grail, or Greater Grail, is at the bottom of the bay.~ Caster added.

"And the other stuff tapped into the Grail system?" You asked him.

~Judging by their current states, they are either dormant Lesser Grails or alternate systems. Perhaps even failed attempts? It is difficult to tell, but none of the dormant ones were currently storing mana, merely filtering it or passing it out. The inactive one, however, seems to be a closed system. There was no way in or out, and the only that could be is if someone else had already gotten inside and shut it down.~ Caster answered.

[]???

Well this is interesting. It looks like this War is more of an experiment than a finished ritual.

We should track down that filtering system. If we find that, we'll probably find whoever is responsible for setting up this clusterfuck.
>>
"Caster, do you think you can trace down a dormant system or the inactive system?" You ask him.

~A dormant system is more likely to result in success than the inactive system, but if I were to try and track one down, it would risk tipping anyone monitoring the system off. Are you certain that we want to do this right now, Master?~ Caster asked.

-[X]Where is my Familiar?
It's good to have options. Maybe we can look into the connections between the Masters and the Grail before we decide to use their connections ourselves.

[X]We'll wait, and instead I'll...
-[X]Where is my Familiar?

Don't think I've forgotten about you my dear cancer steel. Your time will come yet.
>>
>>25444948

Lets ask Cubes his opinion on what we should do. He is fairly logical so he should be a good help. Afterwards if he doesn't think we should do it.

-[X]Where is my Familiar?
>>
"Waiting seems like a good idea, then. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to see if I can find my familiar." You say. Caster nods and hops down from the bed. You let out a deep breath as you reach out to your familiar. You snap to it, sitting outside of a small house that you don't recognize. Inside you can see John, drinking at a desk and staring at a book. It doesn't look like any place in the city proper, probably in the suburbs at closest.

Command seal stealing time.
>>
>>25445445
[X]Leave your familiar guarding him

Paranoia is acting up again. Someone might try and take his seals.
For now let's just go out and patrol.
>>
>>25445519

I'd rather we jack his seals or well understand what he is doing. Hell might be a good idea to check if he even has seals. Mainly because if we stole it we could burn 3 on Cube and give him enough prana to last for half the war.
>>
>>25445566
This. For now, we should just study what he's reading. A beginner Magus with issues would not be that bad, but he summoned Monster. This dude is unpredictable.
>>
>>25445445
Lets poke him, let him know we're here at least, lest guarding look more like spying if he finds us.
>>
>>25445566
So have the familiar take his arms?
>>
>>25445445
>[]Get in touch with him

He might mistake "guarding" for "creepy stalking" otherwise. Especially since the familiar is a bit sinister looking, what with the scary cancer metal and all.
>>
>>25445607

Yeah. Though if he isn't doing anything that seems worth noticing I still say we send a servant and jack his seals. As a magus this is too good of a situation to pass up. It could massively lower the strain on cubes here and give him a absurd amount of pana to play with.

>>25445638
It is possible to painlessly jack them medea did it. But really this depends on just how pragmatic our dude really is. We could spy on him but that risks others getting his seals if they know how to jack it. Which is rather rare. But in exchange we basically don't get anything.

We could send a servant after him grab him and bring him to cubes and painlessly remove them if he still has them then just let him go. But then we risk revenge.

Or we could kill him steal his arm have a servant pop up and bring it to us and then use his command seals.

Just depends on how pragmatic we are.
>>
>>25445808
isn't it if your servant is dead your seals fade? or was that just Saber getting nommed by Sakura's vagina that did that?
>>
With a mental nudge, you urge the familiar forward. It approaches the house cautiously and slowly. Just as you're about to step onto the front lawn, John stands and he suddenly glares at you through the familiar. You hear a soft giggle as something seems to drape itself over your familiar and everything goes dark. Your familiar is left floating, amidst the darkness for several tense and frightening moments before your connection is cut.

You blink your eyes open in shock as you find yourself sitting on the edge of your bed, staring at Sayaka feeding Caster. You have no idea where, exactly your familiar was, when it was lost.

A shame, I liked john and would have liked to remain allies.
But then Monster "went rouge" and now he jacked our cancer metal familiar.
Assassin might have brought us Monster's heart and crushed it, but let's go full-paranoia mode and assume the worst and that she's - somehow - still alive and be suitably prepared.

Exactly what I was worried about. Any how we need to eliminate them then. But before then we need more familiars we can body jack and we need more intel. We have to send this info to assassin as well.

"Saber. Monster. With me. Caster and Caster, you're guarding base." You order, standing and marching out the door.

"Ohohoho~" Monster chuckled, "Are we going to do something...amazing?"

"Something very amazing. We're going to hunt John down, and we will kill him." You tell her. She gives you a wide grin before disappearing astrally. Sayaka gives you a reassuring nod and disappears. Now, you need to move around and you need to move around quickly. As you enter the public streets you approach the nearest car and place on hand on the hood and mumble several quick words under your breath, and suddenly the door locks click. With another set of words, the car starts.

After a quick analysis and reinforcement of the car, you're flying down some of the suburban roads, eyes hunting for anything you remember seeing through the familiar's eyes.

Finally, you spot it. An old brick house that had been down the street from where you had spotted John. You quickly turn back down the road and you spot it. The house where your familiar was lost. And standing in the door way you can see John. Staring out at the street. Staring at you. Cautiously, you step out of the car.

"You killed her. You're a horrible monster, a mockery of human nature. And you killed her." He half growls at you, darkness wreathing his left arm. "If I kill you...If I can win the Grail, I can save her." He growled.

"But, what is a man but a miserable little pile of secrets?" You retort, gesturing slightly with on hand and Saber leapt forward only to be interrupted by Hero.

"You're not the only one with secrets!" John screamed, launching a ball of darkness at you. You narrowly managed to dodge it but fail to get out of the way of John's kick to your face. Candeloro lets out a scream and she launches herself at John only to be interrupted by a swarm of bugs and darkness. Suddenly, you find yourself cut off. Surrounded by shadows and combat on all sides and John staring you down, eyes bloodshot and mad. You curse under your breath and reach inside your jacket for a block of metal.

"No! Not this time!" He yells, launching himself at you wildly and knocking your spell components out of your hand. You try and punch back, futilely, but he barely notices in his half made state. "Your fake skin sickens me!" He growls, tackling you to the ground with a pained grunt.

"She made her choices!" You hiss.

"And you've made yours!" He growled, headbutting you hard enough to make you bite your tongue. "I'll kill you!" John screams, as he pulls out a knife.

You grin as your hand lands on the chunk of metal you had dropped earlier. You quickly channel your mana into it and it sprouts into a tendril of thorns, stabbing into John as he swings at you. He grunts in pain as the thorns stab into him and stabs you in the chest, causing you to let out a wheeze of pain.

"Die, you monster!" He screams, raising the knife again to stab you. You try and draw breath to speak, to activate a command seal. Anything at all. But you can't. Your vision is darkening and all you can think about is killing John for this. As your vision fades, you think you can see something appearing over your dieing body.

After some time you find yourself merely staring at inky blankness. No sense of time, no sense of direction. Nothing at all.

Tomoko takes the news of Nicolas's death poorly and works together with Caster and the Puella to eliminate John and succeed in spectacular fashion. Tomoko takes well to Puella Monster's enhancements and goes on to successfully eliminate Hero and Villain. However, she meets her end when she keeps pushing too far and too fast with magic she doesn't entirely understand and completely cripples herself. Caster, feeling the time is right pulls out his trump card. After a long and grueling battle and grudging cooperation with Assassin he succeeds in winning the war. He grants her wish to heal Tomoko and produces a new body for Nicolas, who, while currently crippled, is well on the road to recovery. Caster sacrifices himself to the Grail and his Irregular uses it to grant their wish. After several years, Nicolas has recovered and is getting used to his new body. Tomoko is far more cautious with her magic and dives heavily into the methodology to control it and enhance. Almost a decade into the future, the two get a sealing designate and are both assigned as a single Dead Apostle number.

[]Marianne Hyde, another local resident. Despite what your grades say, you're not book smart but you are cunning and clever. You’re a mage of admirable talent, with a specialty in getting people to do what you want. You grew up hearing about the Grail War that took place in Japan, dreaming of going there one day to compete on your own and maybe meet your hero, only to have your hopes dashed when news came that they dismantled it. And so, you were delighted when the command seals appeared on your upper left arm. You immediately set to work on preparing a summoning and tonight, tonight you would summon her.

You say nothing as you channel your mana into the circle, knowing that words are useless for this servant. Shadows begin to pool in the circle and a feminine form rose out of them, the shadows draping over her form as exquisite garments.

"Servant Temptress has answered your call." She says softly, bowing slightly.

Only just noticed the quest and it's a shame to have to end it. It was a fun ride, but I can't continue to follow a quest were dangers are so massively overrated (42.2%chance of success fighting a drunk guy with a knife despite him being within our optimum range, knowing magic and him being completely incoherent due to anger) and a single death meaning a complete restart.

The writing was good, but it's just never going to get anywhere.

So, according to the stat sheet, we summoned Lilith, the first woman? That's...ominous.

>Goes to sleep
>Wakes up
>MC Died

Goddamn it. A DC of 75 to not die was a bit excessive methinks as we didn't crit fail. (A double crit fail, of course, ought mean instant death with no save). Damn, and I liked coobie and wanted to kill shit with Homu Homu.

Oh well, it seems he was saved in the ultimate end though I am sad Jack became a meguca. Plus it's heavily implied we gave her the D postwar. And hey, we became dead apostles, not bad.

Still, rooting for Nick and Tomoko. May they win the war at our expense.

Hey. Why did we have to restart? I mean, this is an F/SN quest. Couldn't you have given us a Taiga Dojo and let us reload from last savepoint? Would have also been an opportunity for comedic relief as some people berate us for our stupidity.

No one ever said he came out of that completely unscathed. He was desperate man and you directly confronted him. He had one goal in mind, and your servants were tied up. As well, you were a support character, not a fighter.

If the Quest bad ends or completes, I'll give the option to start over or reattempt a previous bad end. But I felt I didn't want to just retread the FSN formula entirely, so bad ends can only be redone after some work. If people really want it, you can back up a choice and try again.

maybe, but that feels cheap too.

I've grown pretty attached to the Nic and his story, and the paragraph long epilogue for what happens to Tomoko barely feels satisfying.

The character death feels like it came out of left field from the narrative, but considering latenight /tg/ goons I can't really be surprised.

I have this nagging feeling if we restart the world metaknowledge would take over on us when dealing with Nicholas & Tomoko too but eh

I like the restart option but I'll let everyone else choose what to do

I'm trying to be flexible as a writer, and most of this quest is for me to improve my own writing skills. I do apologize if the death seems out of place, but things have been going on in the wings to result in this. Your actions were pretty much just a catalyst for the pot boiling over so catastrophically at this time. It's honestly not any one action you guys did wrong, its thousands of small things here and there. Also, some incorrect assumptions were made.

Well, I guess behaving like a psychopath would obviously lead to such results.

So, votes on one choice back/restart as Marriane?
I'm cool either way, personally.
