Hey, /tg/. It's been a while.
https://twitter.com/DigimonQuest
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Digimon%20Quest

Last time on this quest of ours, we were speaking with the newest player in the game; the Russian transfer student Daniil Kravec, and his partner Impmon.
Now, we are given the choice of trusting this young man, or leaving him to his own hunt.

"You're smart, Wayne Rogers. Smarter than I gave you credit for." He sighs, and points to his partner. "Impmon's at his latest level, right now. We haven't been able to find a way to make him stronger." Now, the digimon speaks up, for the first time since we've met.

"The digimon you're talking about is a friend of ours. He helped us out when I started to lose that fight with the..." He tests the word out, savoring the name of his enemy. "Fugamon."

Sally looks at me, and beckons me closer. Leaning in, she speaks quietly.

"I don't think they're lying to us, but they're still not telling us everything." Judging from her expression, I get the feeling she's not too keen on trusting these two, or their friend, but I also get the impression she's leaving the choice to me.

I should...

[] Tell them about Zoe, they told us about their friend

[] Tell them I want us all to meet, we can hunt the enemy better with eight than with two

[] Tell them nothing, we don't have to extend the same courtesy

[] Free response

Tell them we have a friend who is a partner but we don't really want to blab about them without their knowledge and try to arrange a meetup/exchange phone numbers.

Glad to have you back gale.

Hell yes, Digimon Quest!
Been a while.

Let's start off with the traditional thing.
Here's the Evolution Path!

[X]Tell them we have a friend who is a partner but we don't really want to blab about them without their knowledge and try to arrange a meetup/exchange phone numbers.
>>
Man I missed this Quest.

So, obviously, we don't want to piss off what could be a valuable ally (especially one who can be the contact to another ally, since he's also got a friend with a digimon), so we shouldn't refuse to share anything.

But we also don't want to just throw everything on the table (if for no other reason than because it wouldn't be fair to Zoe), so let's just match what they did; we say we've got another friend, try to arrange a meeting, and work from there.

Since the Russian guy didn't share the name of his friend with us, we should be fine not doing the same.
>>
>>25286373
Game's still starting up, Gale; in the other threads activity always picked up after a while.
>>
>>25286319

seconding this. especially the bit about Gale's return...
>>
I decide that telling them we have an ally of our own is the best choice. I'm not going to trust him with all the information, when he hasn't done the same for me, but I won't tell him nothing either.

"We have a friend of our own, as well." I say, and I can see that that grabs his attention. His gaze turns from inquisitive to...something else I can't identify, and he nods slowly.

"So where is this friend of yours? I only see you two." He asks, and I can tell he's fishing for information now.

"They're preparing," I reply, and that seems to satisfy him, as he nods, obviously understanding what I mean.

He looks like he's about to say something else, when both our digimon stiffen, Impmon crying out something in russian -something I take note of, wondering how a digimon can be bilingual- and Sally leans in to speak into my ear urgently.

"Something's just arrived. I can't tell what, but we definitely aren't the only ones here anymore."

Hopefully we won't have to spend points to help the Russian guy.
>>
>>25286841
We and Sally end up tripping, knocking a single stone loose that ends up killing the enemy digimon?
>>
I sailed opon the sea of piss in search of amusement, after some time I landed on the isle of tee-gee, as I look at the activitys of my brothers, Cries of "heresy!" and "samefag!" all around, when a most fortuitus wind blew, and the gale spoke to me, the words on its lips a wisper "digimon quest" and I wept, for it was good
>>
>19 & 9

Daniil an I both rush to the rooftop stairway at the same time, but he's closer, and noticeably faster than I am. Impmon has already dashed inside.
I run inside anyway, and Sally takes off on her broom, the coat billowing as she flies towards the school's entrance.
But when I hear a shriek of surprise from within the building, and what sounds like glass shattering, I curse and redouble my efforts.

While I'm running, I hear a beeping noise from my pocket, and pull out the digivice; it's screen is lit, and one of the buttons is flashing red insitantly.
hurriedly, I hit the key, and a small map appears on the screen, a red blip flashing on what appears to be a schematic of the school. while another blip moves towards it at a faster rate than my own.
On the screen, I can see several classrooms that will let me get there much quicker, but they've been destroyed in the fight, and the only way in is large, waist-high windows in the walls, which only appear melted slightly. I can take that shortcut, or try and catch up to Daniil before he reaches the other person.

[] take shortcut!

[] put on the heat! Catch up to Daniil!

[] other?
>>
>>25286987
Yeah, we're not going to be able to catch up to Daniil.
He was some sort of athletic badass, wasn't he?

[X] Shortcut!
>>
>>25286987
[X] take shortcut!
>>
Even if we do run for all we're worth...well, let's say we do catch up with him.
We'll be absolutely exhausted, when we get there.

...hey, Gale?
Sally isn't flying behind us, is she?
Because if she were, it'd be great if we could jump into her arms and she could carry us.
She's way faster than Daniil or anyone else.

>>25286938
It's so nice to see him back, isn't it?
>>
Here's another reason for us not to try and just run along; whoever he's heading towards will expect someone to come down that way.
But, they won't expect another person to go down path #2 - the shortcut.
>>
>>25286987

take the shortcut.
>>
>Take shortcut!

Bracing myself, I suddenly change directions as I'm running, and throw myself through the weakened glass, rolling into the mostly untouched classroom (sans the slagged door), and keep going, jumping over chairs and clambering over desks as I approach the window, before I run into a problem. The next row of desks is right next to the glass, and I don't have enough inertia to break it just by standing there. Sighing to myself, I pick up one of the fallen chairs, and slam its legs into the glass, punching four holes in the flimsy window easily.

Whatever those digimon did during their battles, they seriously destroyed the integrity of the whole school.

That, and this seems like really cheap glass.

I then pull the chair back, and heave once more, sending the seat through the window itself, glass and shrapnel cascading into the hallway, just in time to catch a glimpse of short brown hair and something yellow before they turn a corner. I check my digivice, and notice that Daniil has stopped somewhere towards the side of the corridor we came from, while the other dot is moving in the direction I saw the newcomer go in. I see a small icon pop up on the corner of the digivice's screen, with a round face with two blank eyes overlaid over a grayed-out egg. It seems like this radar has multiple modes, but investigating will cost precious seconds.

[] check digivice for more info

[] go after them!

[] check on Daniil, something might be up...
>>
>>25287259
[X] go after them!

If we waste time, that means that Sally, at least, might be in danger.
When we're getting into a fight, the last thing we want to do is get distracted - we can learn more about the digivice after whatever the conflict is gets finished.
>>
>>25287259

combat is never the time to explore the features of ones new technology.
Chase the newcomer. they shall not expect a flank attack... that and it should give us time to get a basic grasp of the situation we find ourselves in...
>>
>>25287259
Hey Gale, you mentioned that this thing can show us Daniil - does this mean it's currently showing us Sally as well?
Given that we're gods-favored/accepted partners, and all.
>>
>>25287339
So, you're voting for 'go after them', then?
>>
>>25287363

yes. I vote for Chasing the newcomer.
>>
>>25287354
>Currently, the digivice is only showing you Daniil and one other, but not Sally and Impmon.
>There is an Icon of a human overlaid on an Icon of an egg that doesn't look active.
>That's the extent of what you know, and if I told you what it means, where would the fun in that?

>Tenchlyi authorities
>Yes, captcha, Tenchi is an authority they ought to listen to.
>>
>>25287411
Right.
After this is over?

We're getting everyone together, and having a "check through digivice" conversation.
I want all details of this - and having 4-ish digimon for defense should mean we'd be plenty safe to thoroughly check on this.
>>
So, seems we've got somewhat of a concensus, here?
>>
I can check the digivice later, and Daniil will be fine...probably.

For now, though, my first priority is the person who just ran away.

I dash after them, following the digivice's cues as they head downstairs, slowing significantly as they near the demolished staircase and all the rubble we had to contend with previously.
Having already done this before, though, I jump and step my way over the parts of the floor I remember as dangerous, before noticing that the person I'm chasing is already downstairs.
The stairs would take a while to navigate, whereas jumping down one of the holes in the ceiling, while dangerous, would get me down practically on top of the person I'm chasing. I have to make my decision now-

I...

[] jump down the hole

[] make a run for the stairs

[] other?
>>
>>25287600
[X] jump down the hole
-[X] Sally: Swoop down and end up flying down with us, making sure the fall doesn't end badly

Summoning my courage, I close my eyes and prepare to do something really, really stupid.

I jump full-on into one of the holes in the floor, tucking my legs close so I can roll upon impact, but I never land. Instead, I'm struck by something hurtling down the hall at high speeds, and I can feel a familiar moving sensation...

I open my eyes, and I am pleasently surprised when I'm met with Sally's concerned face instead of the concrete from the ceiling.

"Wayne," she says, incredulous, "What in the name of the Sov- what did you think you were doing?!" I have the decency to be embarassed about my half-assed plan, and rub the back of my neck while muttering.

"It was gonna be fine, really. I would have landed alright."

Sally just shakes her head in disbelief, then refocuses on her flight, slowing considerably as we reach a corner in the building.

"What's going on now?" She asks, and I remember that she took off from the outside, and must have only just come back inside to find out what had happened. Hurriedly, I explain the situation to her, and she hums to herself in thought, hovering in place for a second, before taking off in another direction.

"So, Wayne," She starts, before ducking under a pipe that was poking out of the ceiling, leaking some sort of fluid. "Do you have any idea who it might be?" I think for a moment, before answering.

"One or two, but I don't want to jump to conclusions too quickly. We have to find this person before anything can happen."

Sally can't seem to find their location, and I have no idea where to go. There are any number of ways this person could have left the school, and a few more places they could have gone after leaving, if they are in fact gone.

Way to go, Sally; she can be really damn fast when it comes to protecting Wayne (well we already knew that from her ripping those ghosts to shreds faster than we could see, but still)

I really do like the idea of trying to use our digivice here - it showed us how the person started running away before, so it should show us where they are now, since they were supposed to be right here.
>>
>>25288939
Yeah, digivice works best, here.
After that, we'll see what happens.
We can use that, right Gale?

The city is pretty big, they can't really get far enough away from us to manage anything, before we've managed to search through the place.

>[] check digivice first

Pulling out the digivice, I check the map again, and determine that the blip representing the person we're after is somewhere on the grounds, headed for what looks like one of the side buildings, the one near the sports field.

Pointing Sally in the right direction, we hover outside, while trying to come up with a plan of action.

I could go back to Daniil and inform him of what's happened, and try to find out what's going on, or I could go and look with Sally on our own.
Furthermore, there's still what our newest acquaintences said about the Digimon they fought. That thing is still out there, and we don't know where. I COULD Call Zoe for backup, but with Aslan's attitude, I don't know how helpful they would be.

I should...

Not to mention, I'd worry about Zoe running, right now.

Not to mention how Aslan would be less than ideal to have around us now - he'd probably accuse Daniil of being evil because he had Impmon
>>
Eh, if we go after whoever this is, surely Daniil will notice a fight happening, and come along - he seems pretty intent on going after whoever this is.
Plus, if we tyell him, it'll still take him awhile to come along, since Sally can't carry him, but she's way faster than him.

And I'm not sure we want to spend time checking out what our digivice can do, here, when we've got a fresh track.

>I hate to say this, but it's happening anyway.

Knowing where they are is enough for me. I nod to Sally, and she takes off, Following my directions towards our target. I can see them standing by a couple of the equipment sheds by the field, and Sally begins to slow down as we near them.

But it's strange. That person looks rather familiar-

With a start I realize that it's...

"Zoe?" She looks to me, quickly, and I see that her eyes are wide. She's sweating and breathing hard, and it almost looks as though she's having an attack- but I was sure she took her medication, so what else could it be-

She suddenly yells out to me, and I barely hear her over Sally's own frightened cry, and we dip unexpectedly, a jolt running through my body as the broom drops.

Looking about, I can see an enourmous bone club spinning through the air where we were JUST hovering, continuing on to smash a crater in the ground.

The weapon is huge and mishappen, sporting big, knobby lumps and shining black spikes, making it a fearsome tool to behold. Not only that, the amount it was thrown with-
Whatever did that must be herculean, because there's no way I'd ever be able to lift it in a hundred years.

But wait a moment; the club came from behind the sheds, and Zoe was staring past them when we arrived...

I look up, and there, towering over the both of us, is a giant.

He's well over seven feet tall hunched over, and the massive horns on his head don't help much in that regard. The thing's skin is a rust-red, and its maw gapes with a disturbing amount of tusk-like fangs. Long, white hair sweeps back over his bony forehead, and falls down to the tiger-stripe shorts he wears.

"What...what the fuck?!" I can't keep myself from blurting out, and the creature's gaze moves from Zoe to Sally and I. It grunts in an annoyed manner, and then jumps, sailing over our heads to land in front of its club, before ripping the weapon out of the earth like some demented king arthur.

It turns back to us, hefting its reclaimed bludgeon, and I whisper to Sally.

"Fuugamon?"

She nods tersly.

Sally takes this opportunity to set me down, never taking her eyes off the Fuugamon.

"Wayne," she growls out, "You should really leave." I'm about to protest, but then I remember the damage she did last night, and agree, pulling Zoe with me back towards the school. But once we reach a certain distance, I find myself turning back around to watch Sally, and see that neither of them has moved yet. Then, the Fuugamon springs into motion, his club whirling around and around, the ogre-like creature swinging like a madman at something he just can't hit, as Sally flits and slips through all his swings. Finally, the digimon overextends one of his swings, and stumbles. Sally gets this...grin on her face, and her claws lash out, followed by an enourmous spurt of blood as the Fuugamon clutches its face, howling in pain. It keeps lashing out with its club, though Sally remains illusive, the weapon's weak swings never coming close to touching her.

Tearing myself away from the violence, I look to Zoe, and notice something odd-

I can't see Aslan. If Zoe's here, then he must be as well, but when I ask Zoe, she starts shaking.

"I-I don't know. We followed you here to the school, but when we got here, he had this...this look in his eyes, and he said something about recognizing something. Then he just ran off. I was looking for him when I found..." She trails off, and we both look back to the battle to see Sally still systematically tearing the Fuugamon apart, injuring him whenever his swings slow down enough for her to get a clean shot in. Her expression is still set in that wicked grin, and I can't help but shudder when I acknowledge that it's Sally doing this. Behind us, I can hear footsteps, and a second later, Daniil steps into my view, followed by his Digimon. Both of them are frowning.
>>
>>25291399

"What's wrong?" I ask, and he just shakes his head.

"Something does not feel right." he says, shrugging as though admitting he knows how unhelpful that is. His digimon is more forthcoming, though.

"There are two more digimon here." He looks about, and points off towards one of the neighborhoods behind the school, a ways off from where Sally and Fuugamon are fighting. "Over there."

That gets my attention. Two?

In a sudden, sickening moment, I realize just what's wrong.

"Sally!" I yell, and she turns, just as the Fuugamon begins to tire. "There's one more!" She whips back just in time to see another club-

Hey, you got better than what I did.
So, ok, this combined with my Luck roll should make things at least somewhat better for us.

Also, huh, seems Sally is the best one on Team Good Guys - she's the only Adult Digimon around.
Both Impmon and Aslan are Child Digimon.

...Our duo is honestly pretty badass, isn't it?
>>
>>25291690
>That's better than the last two, and we have a luck score of 15, which is not bad at all.

...What I wouldn't give to have heard how that conversation went down.
>>
>>25291912
>I hate when this happens. I forgot my name again.

>12, 14, 15

Sally doesn't turn fast enough to dodge the blow entirely, but I can also tell that it could have been a hell of a lot worse. She staggers in midair, and she floats back a couple of meters, holding her head and hissing in pain. I'm forced to crush the urge to make sure she's alright. I'd only be in the way if I did. Instead, I turn my attention to the newest foe of ours.

My first thought is that it looks exactly like the Fuugamon...but it's green. That's literally the only real difference I can see with this one. I hear Sally bite out the name of this foe as she staggers about, holding a hand to the wound on her head, crimson running down her face.

"An Ogremon? There was one of you around, too?" The thing- Ogremon- cackles, and swings its club again, and I hear Zoe gasp in shock beside me. Following her gaze to the ogremon's hand, I can see a limp bundle of yellow-

"Aslan!" Zoe cries out, her voice cracking in distress. The ogremon looks between her and the cat in its hands, before laughing again.

"Oh," he growls out, and I wince at the sound of his voice- like gravel gargling sand. I didn't know it could even talk. "IS this kitten yours?" He laughs again, and tosses him in our direction.

Aslan lands hard, and I can see from here that he's not unconscious, but in what appears to be a good deal of pain. The ogremon just laughs again.

"The little kitten thought to challenge me, when he's not even a lion yet!" He then growls, and turns back to Sally. "And you, you're beating on my kin. I can't have that."
>>
>>25292303
Sally, to my great surprise, seems to be dealing with the pain rather well, and rights herself with a small amount of effort. She sends him a scathing glare, and traces the line of blood that runs down her face.

"You're going to pay for that," She says, and I once more suppress the urge to shudder at her tone. Sally means it. The ogremon, to his credit, merely shrugs and hefts his club.

>Combat started anew! Ogremon has stepped in to replace the devastated Fuugamon, and sally has been injured.
>Roll 2d20 for combat, 1d20 for luck if you'd like, OR you can attempt to help Aslan out in some way. Daniil has not yet joined the fight, but could be asked to do so.
>>
Rolled 11, 7 = 18

...I haven't the faintest clue for just how we'd be able to help Aslan.
Like, what can we even do?
Sally needs to keep fighting the Ogremon, and the only other help we can throw in would be Impmon who, needless to say, doesn't strike me as the healing type.

...The only thing I can even think of would be to run forward, grab Aslan and then run back to Zoe, but would that even help?
>>
>>25292320
I'm all for asking the new guy to help. Let's do that.
>>
Rolled 20, 11 = 31

>>25292320
Gale, if we ask Daniil, could he be persuaded to have his Impmon do some cover fire?
It doesn't exactly have to be much, but even just a moment of distraction for the Ogremon means that Sally can mess him up.
>>
Rolled 20, 9 = 29

>>25292320
Get Aslan out of there and yell for Daniil to help out. Not necessarily in that order

>>
>>25292422
So, ok, here's my plan
Daniil has Impmon provide distracting covering fire of some sort (ask him if his digimon partner has some sort of ranged trick - anything will do, really).
Meanwhile, Sally tears this guy a new one.

Finally...I kind of want to try and head towards Aslan, pick him up and get him to Zoe.
If that guy doesn't change his tune after we do that, I don't know WHAT will convince him we're a decent fellow

>>25292811
>I was actually waiting to see if anyone had anything else to suggest, but I guess not.
>>
>>25292827
Well it's pretty much the only way I can think of to save Aslan, with Sally very preoccupied with the fight.
>>
I turn to Daniil, who appears to be studying the two digimon intently.

"Look," I begin, "I know this isn't really your fight, but...we could really use your help here. Sally's outnumbered, and Aslan's down...and you've fought one of these guys before." Daniil looks at me measuringly, then at Sally, then to Impmon, who nods, then back to me.

"Alright, Wayne Rogers. We'll help you. BEsides," He smirks in a somewhat vindictive manner. "This WAS our fight." At that, Impmon leaps into motion, his hands blurring as he starts making throwing motions. At first I can't see any projectiles, but when the spots he's aiming for start getting hit by fireballs, I rethink my opinion of the little guy. It's not aquary pressure, but he's hitting fast, and hitting a lot, and that gives Sally a chance. The Ogremon, distracted by the fire (because who wouldn't be, it's fucking FIRE), turns away from Sally for a moment. That's all she needs, is that moment. Thrusting one of her claws out at the enemy with a cry of "Balaluna Gale!" she summons a tornado from her palm, the air seemingly slicing into the Ogremon's skin repeatedly.

While this is happening, Zoe and I rush to Aslan's side, and I pick him up, taking great care not to aggravate his wounds, which-while not fatal or mortal- are quite numerous. With Sally and Impmon distracting the Ogremon, and the Fuugamon our of comission for the time being, we make our way back to the school, with Aslan in tow.
>>
>>25293547
As soon as we're a safer distance away, I turn back to look at the fight again.

Sally and Impmon aren't doing as much damage to the ogremon as she was to the Fuugamon, but they're keeping the thing distracted and away from the rest of us, which is better than the alternative. Sally's liberal use of Balaluna Gale has also bolstered Impmon's fireballs, the large flare-ups of the projectiles growing much greater upon impact. Behind me, I can hear a groan, and turn to see Aslan struggling to get up. Despite hsi injuries, it seems nothing important was broken or hurt, so while he's not at top condition, he may still be able to fight.

I can hear my digivice beeping in my pocket, but the fight requires my attention...

[] talk Aslan down, he's too injured to fight!

[] encourage his joining the fight, we need all the help we can get!

[] check digivice, it may be important!

[] call for a tactical retreat, we're outmatched!

[] other?

No, Aslan can't be allowed to fight.
He's been seriously messed up, any more and he could very well get destroyed.
If we can end up with a Leomon who doesn't die during a Digimon story, it'd be great

[X] check digivice, it may be important!
-[X] Zoe: talk Aslan down, he's too injured to fight!

Maybe this will work?
>>
You know, if we want to sell it to Aslan not to join the battle...
We could just tell him this truth: he's the only digimon we've got near us, right now.

We've been ambushed at least twice already, so if Aslan leaves there won't be anyone left that can keep the group safe.
>>
>>25293611
Hey, an 11 isn't bad - it's better than average.
>>
Gale, will you save this on suptg?
>>
I'll say this: I would not want to face Sally in a fight.
She can get pretty nasty, from what we're seeing here.
...I hope we have an handkerchief or something, to remove the blood from her face.
>>
>>25293558
I'd like to point out, in case anyone wanted to try it, a tactical retreat is a pretty bad idea; we'd have no guarantee we could get away, especially with an injured Aslan and Zoe, together with our main 2 fighters already engaged with the remaining enemy.

Having Aslan join the fight would just give the Ogremon a target...normally that could be an interesting idea, since Aslan could serve as a distraction, but since he's so damaged, that'd just be needlessly damaging him.
>>
>>25293660
Can this work, Gale?
Just gesture for Zoe to talk to Aslan, while we check the digivice for whatever is making that beeping noise?
>>
>>25293836

>That's the feeling I got, so that's what I'm writing, yeah.
>>
>last post for tonight...

I motion for Zoe to come over and talk to Aslan, while I dig into my pocket and pull out the Digivice- it's screen is lit again, and this time, it has a loading wheel spinning. It's...running a program, or an app or something. Opening the phone-like device, I see a small window telling me to wait while it loads, but what "it" is, I have no idea. Sally and Impmon are still holding off the Ogremon admirably, despite the differences in strength.

Finally, it loads, and instead of something really useful-looking, like some sort of stat sheet or HP bar for the Ogremon, I get a picture of Sally. Yes, I know what my digimon looks like, thank you very-

I stop, and look at the second screen. There are HER stats;

>Witchmon Abilities:

>Aquary Pressure [level 1] +

>Baluluna Gale [level 1] +

>Skill data [2]

And then, benwath that, I can see a sound Icon is on. Hesitantly, I place the Digivice to my ear.

"Sally?" I can hear her suck in a breath, surprised, but not willing to look away from her foe. So, this lets me communicate with Sally across greater distances, and she doesn't even need one. That's perfect.

"Wayne, what are you doing? I told you to stay away." I can hear the worry in her voice, as well as a slight hint of frustration. Just a bit.

"I am," I say, and now she does look...and sees me standing about a hundred feet away, holding up the Digivice. Then I look back at the screen. "Say, Sally...you wouldn't know anything about Skill Data, would you?" I ask, and I can tell she's confused by her tone.

"No, never."

"Well," I look back at the Digivice, my thumb hovering over...

[] Balaluna Gale.

[] Aquary Pressure.

[] exit the app, we don't need to do this to win.

[] give Sally some other command, but keep it open.
>>
>>25294659
[X] Aquary Pressure.

This was the most destructive one we could do before, we might as well try and make use of it again.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this will improve the power of this ability
>>
>>25294712
Oh, wait, this was the last update - so we'll vote on this tomorrow, then?
>>
>>25294659
+2 to Balaluna Gale.

She uses it the most anyhow.
>>

See you tomorrow.

>>25295035
>>25294742
>It was my pleasure to run this again, and I look forward to doing so tomorrow. Have a great night, /tg/.
>>
Voting for the upgrade to Balaluna Gale. In this fight, the Aquary Pressure attack will only serve to counter Impmons attack. Also, remember that Leomon has 'Fist of the Beast King' which is a fire based attack, so bonus points for combination attacks...
>>
>>25298598
Yeah, this seems like a good point.

[X] Balaluna Gale

Also, seriously impressed with Sally - like the archived thread said, don't fuck with her.
We definitely have the stronged Digimon in the fight (the Ogremon sneak attacked her first, so she doesn't count)
>>
So we're going to be using this thread again, when Gales wakes up?
>>
>>25299643
God I hope so

>>25299885

>>25299885
Hey, Dark, what do you think we should spend the 2 skill data points on?
>>
>>25300906
Probably +1 to both Balaluna Gale and Aquary Pressure.
>>
I don't have a face to accurately represent how happy I am that Gale isn't dead and this quest is still alive.
>>
>>25301018

seems like a solid choice. don't want to focus on one skill, then encounter an enemy who is immune to it...
>>
On one hand aquary pressure would help if the russian kid turns out to be evil. On the other hand Balaluna Gale works well with leomon. Splitting them up would cover all of our bases.
>>
>>25301053
plus Sally is currently using Balaluna Gale on Ogremon, so that would help in the current situation
>>
>>25301018
>>25301053
>>25301066
So it seems we've got 3 votes for 1 to both Balaluna Gale and Aquary Pressure, and 2 votes for spending both on Balaluna Gale.

>>25301042
I know, right?
>>
>>25301066
You know, to be fair, beyond thinking Sally looks hot, he's been very decent to us, even if he's keeping something secret.
>>
>>25301165
I don't actually think he's a bad dude. I just happen to think its always smart to be prepared to kill everyone you come across, just in case.
>>
>>25286275

Oh, hey, this quest finally returned?

Sweet.
Hopefully we'll see more in the next weeks!
>>
>>25301216
Yeah, it's great to see this continuing on again.
Right now we're voting on if we should put points into Balaluna Gale or Aquare Pressure (or both, which is the leading vote right now) - which do you think would be better?
The more votes, the better.
>>
>>25301115

This does, of course, rely on the fact that this Is Actually upgrades. Technically Wayne has no idea what it will do... maybe we have this all wrong and selecting it will 'order' Sally to preform the move... or maybe it is how effective the attacks would be on Ogremon....
Or maybe it's just random jargon that no-one really understands....
It could be many things, but assuming it is attack upgrades is the most logical at this time...

either way, we shall have to play with every aspect of the Digivice once we are finished with combat... and especially prior to our departure to the digital world...
>>
>>25301201
Fair enough, long as we don't get too paranoid here or anything - and besides, we might like it for some fire digimon coming around as well.
>>
>>25301346
Yeah, fair point - we don't know what this does.
The running theory right now is that it'll boost these moves somehow, but we're not really sure.

>either way, we shall have to play with every aspect of the Digivice once we are finished with combat... and especially prior to our departure to the digital world...
Digivice-checking party, with us Zoe, Daniil and his buddy (who I think might be Swedish, from the preparation thread), is definitely needed.
We need some safe place to figure this sort of thing out, and a place with 4 digimon defenders in the realy world, one of whom is Adult, sounds about as safe as we could ever manage, right now.
>>
>>25301216

I tap the little plus sign on both of her skills, and the device starts beeping rapidly, before the screen shows a string of letters I can't read, that resemble the ones on Sally's dress. The runes scroll across the screen vertically, as if they're leaving the digivice, and when the string has ended, a beam of light jumps from the little phone-like machine, and connects with Sally. Bright pulses of light travel the line between us, from my hand into her body, and with each burst I can see that she's looking steadier on her feet.So apparently, this isn't just for her techniques, but a last-minute boost of strength?

That's exactly what we needed. Now reinvigotated, Sally sends the Ogremon a wicked smirk, and thrusts her hand forward once more.

"Balaluna Gale," She says. Not yells, or growls, but calmly and confidently, as if her victory by now is assured. And that confidence might not be misplaced- the Ogremon's not exactly dead on his feet, but he's not looking too good, either.

So when a veritible tornado bursts forth from Sally's fingertips with all the might of several freight trains, he's obviously not prepared or in any condition to block. The green giant is sent flying, crashing through one of the sheds and into his friend, the two getting tangled up in a mess of limbs, teeth, and hair, before getting flung far into the field. Their landing isn't very soft, either. Sally, looking somewhat winded, shoots me a grateful look, and I reply with a thumbs up, before...

[] Order Sally to take them both down for good. We don't wanna see these guys ever again.

[] Order Sally to interrogate one of them; they should stil be alive, and if they're alive, they can talk.

[] Forget them for now, talk to Zoe and Aslan. The ogres aren't going anywhere after that fall.

[] Talk to Daniil about (topic)

[] Talk to Sally, see if she's alright.
>>
>>25301910

Take them down, this guys might be a little risky to interrogate
>>
>>25301910
Goddamn but I love Sally.
So, ok, this both boosts the power of her abilities, and also gives her some healing.

[X] Ask Sally to come over
-[X] When close to you, bring out handkerchief, clean away blood
-[X] HUG.

Sally has gotten hurt, and there was no mention of her not bleeding.
Plus, she's our partner, it's not fair to her if we talk to others before making sure she's alright.

However...
Do we want to interrogate Ogremon or the other one?
Because I'd like to know about just what the hell is going on here.
>>
>>25301910

Ask Sally to Interrogate them. Then once all information has been gleamed from them, finish them off. Don't want to encounter them again. Too much collateral...
>>
>>25301973
Don't digimon get stronger when they finish off others?
>>
>>25301910
Checkup on our crew. Zoe, Aslan, and of course Sally.
>>
Interrogate, finish them off and then let us take care of her bleeding head wound?
>>
>>25302068
I think it might be better to have Zoe talk to Aslan, first?
She's probably got some choice words to say to him, for running off like that.
>>
OK, what does everyone think of this vote

[X] Ask Sally to interrogate these two
-[X] Then let's kill them - we can't just let them go around as they please, their attack has proven they're far too dangerous
[X] After that, ask Sally to come over
-[X] When close to you, bring out handkerchief, clean away blood
-[X] HUG.
[X] Zoe: Talk to Aslan, ask him why he ran away on his own like that

What's everyone think?
>>
Rolled 8

>>25302151

sounds good, we should also check if the digivice is still beeping or flashing or doing anything interesting post battle
>>
>>25302151
I doubt we have any ability to decide what Zoe will do but everything else sounds good.
>>
>>25302264
Well it's up to her, but it seems better for her to have the first conversation with him.

If he's feeling guilty for having run off on his own, it might be easier for us to talk to him afterwards

Also, sometimes Gale does let us dictate the actions of our allies.
>>
So about 3 votes in favor of this plan >>25302151
then?
Anyone else got some other suggestion, vote in favor of something else, or something I've missed?

It seems to give us everything we'd want.
>>
Gale, since it's not been asked I figure I might as well ask it myself - can we write in an order for Zoe, as well?
Because if we can, then the combined vote there should work.
>>
>>25302151

Sounds good. Maybe get Daniil to arrange for his friend to join us. preferably somewhere other than the school... With all this commotion, the fuzz is liable to come and investigate, which means that we should get the 'F-outta Dodge' as the saying goes I believe...
>>
>>25302428
Yeah, that's a good idea - giving Daniil's friend a call should be a priority as well, so it shouldn't hurt to ask him.
I don't think he'd mind what we're doing against these two hostile digimon, considering what they've done thus far, so that shouldn't be a worry, either...
>>
>>25302151
We should probably ask Sally her opinion first before we ask her to ice these oni.

Like even considering the dark path that has been laid before her, it might not be a good idea to just assume she'd be our executioner.
>>
>>25302555
>Not that, you know, you'd KNOW that she has this dark path ahead of her. That's meta, anon!

>>25302422
>Writing in an order for Zoe would just be suggesting she do something. It doesn't mean she'll follow the action described to the letter, seeing as she and Wayne do things differently.
>>
>>25302555
Hm, fair - she is our partner, and deserves to get asked first.

But other than that, you're fine with my idea?
>>
>>25302555

A fair point. Digimon will follow orders, but that doesn't mean they automatically like them...
>>
>>25302624
Well yeah.

That means we have even less reason to believe she'll necessarily be okay with killing these chumps because we say so.
>>
>>25302624
>Not that, you know, you'd KNOW that she has this dark path ahead of her. That's meta, anon!
This, I'll admit, is going to be damn interesting, going forward.
Having what can become a Great Demon Lord as our partner will be fantastic, and I'm so happy we went with this.

>Writing in an order for Zoe would just be suggesting she do something. It doesn't mean she'll follow the action described to the letter, seeing as she and Wayne do things differently.
Well that works.
>>
>>25302666
They did bash her head hard enough to cause it to start bleeding; I'm thinking Wayne might be feeling a little vengeful, especially after they threw Aslan, his friend Zoe's partner, away after brutally beating him.
>>
>>25302697
We should check up on Zoe after we get everything settled down. She is still very ill and she just ran across town to fight a pair of giant monsters.
>>
So we've got a basic idea here, right?
Interrogation, ask Sally if she'd be ok with finishing off these two, talk to Daniil about maybe getting his friend to come meet us somewhere, and then worry about Sally while Zoe worries about Aslan.
That is pretty much everything, right?
>>
>>25302744
She did get her medicine, though?
But eh, sure, if that's what people want, we can do that during the digivice-checking gathering we'll likely be hosting soon.
>>
>>25302151
>>25302760
>So, basically these?
>>
>>25302775

Technically the medicine was not designed to grant her marathon running capacity shortly after going through a rather rough patch...
so a relapse is understandable...
>>
>>25302830
Yep!

>>25302838
Err, true...
When we can get to a safe spot, we should make sure she's alright.
>>
>>25302830
pretty much
>>
>Then interrogation will go first, then we'll move on to the next part.

I step closer to the two Ogres, both of which are groaning and obviously in a good deal of pain. The Fuugamon's likely been blinded by the amount of blood that got into his eyes, and the Ogremon's not looking much better, covered with a multitude of cuts and burns. I nudge one of them with my foot, and only recieve another moan of pain as a reply. I turn to Sally, who has followed behind me, still floating on her broom.

"Sally, you think we could get some answers out of these two?" I ask, and her eyes narrow.

"You want me to interrogate them, Wayne?" She asks, and for a moment, I think that perhaps I crossed some sort of line. Is interrogation not kosher for Digimon? I have no idea, so I'm about to try and placate her, but... Her lips turn up into another grin, even as her eyes narrow further. "I don't see why I can't."

Before I can say anything else, she reaches out with one of her large claws, and grabs one of the Ogremon's fingers. I can hear a creaking noise, and a bit too late, realize that she's applying pressure on it. The Ogremon, however, knows full well what's happening, and starts to yell in pain. Sally eases up on her grip, but holds his hand fast.

"Alright, big, Green, and Ugly..." She looks to me, and I think for a moment...

What do I want to ask?

>Maybe you should have thought about that before you all picked "interrogate"...

"How did you get here?" I ask. The Ogremon growls, not looking very happy at all about this situation, but when Sally starts to put on the pressure again, he relents.

"There was a fucken' hole, we fell through. What more do ya want from u-OW, you bitch!" Sally apparently didn't like that tone he was using, and upped the force she was applying.

"A hole?" I ask, and he just sneers at me. Ignoring that, I think about it for a moment. "Would there be any way for you to get back?" Now the Ogremon's not happy.

"And why the FUCK would I wanna do that?! What Digimon in their right mind would want to go back there? Even if there was, you wouldn't see me going within a hundred miles of it!"

Now this interests me, but I file it away for later. I have other questions.

"So, if you fell through, will there be more? Are there more of you around here now?" I ask, my own voice low with the gravity of what I'm asking. If there's a "hole," and digimon "fell through," That could mean something worse than these guys could come through it.

The Ogremon just shrugs, as best he can, anyway. "Fuck if I know, all I saw was this dumbass when we got here. Are we done yet?" Sally wrenches his finger a bit harder, and the Ogremon hisses in pain, but doesn't take the bait.

After that we should be done with them, and can go on to clean up Sally's bloodied face.

That would mean either getting involved with the police, or moving Ogremon. Neither of which we are wanting to deal with. "This...hole you mentioned..." The Ogremon glares at me.

"Yeah, as far as I knew, a one-way ticket outta hell. This place's much better than there, even if we had to hide. Things were goin' GREAT until you and yer little band of misfits showed up." There it is again; his reference to where he came from as an "awful place."

"Why are you so...against the digital world?" I fumble with my words, not knowing how to phrase that question. The ogremon apparently gets what I'm trying to say, but he just laughs mirthlessly.

"What do I got against it? Why the fuck are YOU so interested in it? That shithole's better off never being mentioned again!" I sigh. This isn't getting us anywhere. I change tactics. Rather than expect a straight answer, I'll get him to confirm something else.

"I've been told the digital world is dying. Is that why you're here?" I ask, and he actually nods, his expression grave. And pained. But mostly grave.

"Yeah. I wouldn't have expected a human like you to know, but just goes to show, eh?" He laughs again, with as much real laughter in it as last time. "Digiworld's not gonna last the year out, kid. You'd be better off finding somewhere else to go for summer break." He laughs again, but it seems Sally's had all she can take of his attitude, and plants one of her feet in his face. His laughter quickly turns to cursing as he holds his bloodied nose.

"Agh, you bitch! What the fuck was that for!?"

She just huffs and turns her nose up at him. "Don't laugh at my partner. You're not in a position to be doing any laughing." I got the feeling he already knew that, but Sally's obviously a bit ticked off right now, so perhaps it would be best to move on...

>>
>>25304726

I think we are all in agreement of at least offering them the chance of redemption by being our 'Guides to the Digital World'...
>>
I think to myself for a while. These two, while rude, violent, and unruly, don't really seem like bad guys. They're low-tier villains at best.
While I'm deliberating on this, I can hear Zoe speaking-rather loudly- with Aslan. It seems she's not very happy with him at all. A small part of me thinks 'good,' and I'm not sure what I really wanna think on that subject.

Directing my attention back to the two ogres, I finally come to a decision.

"I'm going to offer you a choice." I tell them. "A deal." The Fuugamon growls, but the Ogremon looks curious.

"Oh really, Kid? The hell could you offer us?" He's amused by his own wit, but I don't let his retort bother me.

"We're going to be going to the Digital World soon. You see, we've been more or less conscripted to save it, and we're going to need a guide. Or two."

I look at them pointedly, and their expressions quickly turn to anger.

"You want us to go back there? you're out of your fucking mind, kid." the Ogre spits, and I can barely suppress a sigh.

"It's either you help us save your home, or we're forced to put you two down here and now. And trust me, I can assure you there's nothing more Sally would want than to destroy the two of you." As if the punctuate my statement, Sally lifts up one of her hands to inspect her still-red claws, humming to herself.

This gets the two digimon to reconsider, it seems, and the OGremon gives us a measuring glare.

"And what the hell d'you need from us, then? You got yerself Digimon already. You should be able to find a way in just fine."

I don't want to spill the entire situation, but he's not likely to go along with it unless I do.

>>25303213
>Luck roll 15

But it seems I was overestimating him, because he nods slowly, grunting an affirmative.

"Alright, then. If it's between gettin' killed here, and killed there, I guess there's more pref-...pref-...Better."

I would prefer our meeting with Daniil and his friend to be in a neutral location, if only we are not sure that out two groups are... compatible...
We may deem it best that us and Zoe do our thing, while they do another. Despite spreading our forces, it would give us a better initial sitrep on the Digital worlds condition. Especially if we go in two different portals and come out in two different places...
Also, proceed to examine the Digivice further. What can it do? Other than provide information of the location of other Digivice holders or Digimon in LoS... Can it show us what Sally is seeing, maybe once we get back, we should see if we can't sync our Digivices to our laptops...

Relieved that we wouldn't have to...eliminate these two Digimon, I turn to my own. Sally doesn't look too happy about this new development. Turning to the two

Ogres, I tell them to stay put, and after getting a pair of reluctant nods, I return my attention to my partner.
I step closer, and gently take her arm, leading her away from the pair she had just defeated. Sally's looking slightly groggy, but other than that seems mostly

awake. I notice that she still has a steady trickle of blood running down her face, though she was attempting to hide it.

"Sally, you're still hurt!" I search for something to wipe it away with, but can't seem to find any sort of rag or cloth I could use. She tries to rub the blood

away herself, but her claws aren't very suited to that particular course of action, so I take it upon myself to do it for her, despite her weak objections.

"Wayne, I can do it myself, you don't need to-"

"Don't be silly; hold still." Cupping her cheek with one hand, I pull my sleeve down on the other arm and use the wrist, disregarding the stains that quickly

accumulate on the fabric. Despite her protests, Sally quickly settles down and allows me to clean her up, a small blush lighting her cheeks. She avoids my gaze,

instead looking off to the side. I give her one more once-over, checking for other injuries, but aside from the one blow to her head and the small scrapes, she looks fine. Rolling up my bloodied sleeve, I take another look at my partner.
>>
>>25306322
Sally looks positively exhausted. After the drama of this morning, and all that's just happened, I'm not surprised, but seeing her look tired just doesn't feel right to me.

I don't know what makes me do it, but I take a sudden step closer and bring my arms up, wrapping Sally in a hug. She stiffens at first, not used to the feeling, but after a moment, she returns it, her large arms just touching my back. She's taking great care not to accidentally scratch me with her claws, and for some reason I find that oddly touching.

I give her another squeeze, dutifully ignoring the sensations that brings as she presses against me, before letting go, pleased to see a tired, yet very content look on Sally's face. It looks like a hug was exactly what she needed. She mumbles a short thanks, and we begin to walk back to where Zoe and the others are.

When she sees us approaching, Zoe relaxes, and lets out a sigh of relief. Daniil just raises an eyebrow at me, but I can't quite tell what's going on his his head.

"So, what happened?" Zoe asks.

Gale...?
You there?

I think we've got a majority voting for telling them all now.
>>
>>25307654
>sorry, was caught up in something.

I decide that telling them what's happened and what we know is the best option for now. I'm a bit wary of including Daniil in this, but seeing as he helped us out, and is a partner like Zoe and I, I feel that it's only right that I do.

Throughout my explanation, Daniil's expression barely changes, whereas Zoe's is set in worry. She's the first to speak up once I'm done.

"So, not only are the gods in trouble, but the Digital world itself is suffering?" She looks so upset; I haven't seen her like this in years. Daniil, however, merely 'hmmm's to himself, as though thinking. He doesn't say much else, but his Digimon doesn't have the same problem.

"So, we're supposed to trust you on this, and let those two watch our backs?" The tiny demon looks dubious about the prospect. "I don't like it."

I can understand his trepidation, but there's nothing I can really do to reassure him, besides threaten the Ogre digimon with Sally.

But that brings up another point I've been wondering about.

"How did this even start, anyway?" I ask. Daniil looks a bit surprised at my query, but then shakes his head.

"I wouldn't know. It was my friend who first started the fight with the Fuugamon. We were just backup. You'll have to ask him."
>>
>>25307845
This makes me think. I haven't met this other person, and that doesn't sit well with me. We need as many allies as we can get at this point, and I know next to nothing about Daniil or this mystery kid. We need to meet at some point. When I tell Daniil, the russian boy nods, most likely having come to a similar conclusion himself. He promises to bring his friend to a specific location later if we can supply the meeting place.

I know several that would work, to be honest; There are two parks within a five-mile radius of my house, and there's usually nobody around after my high school gets out.

The parks are public, but we'd find a way to meet inconspicuously. One is usually empty, but has little to no cover should anything happen. The other is more populated, but has a good deal more foliage and decoration.

School would be easier, but also a bit riskier, should anyone be there late.

I should give him the address for...

[] one of the parks, they're neutral ground.

[] School, it'll be a more familiar area.

I give him the location of the more covered park, and trade phone numbers with him in case either of us gets in trouble or needs something. With that, he takes his leave, Impmon following close behind. He didn't glare at us as he left or anything, so I'm going to assume that means we're on better terms than before.

With that done, I then focus on Zoe, who's trying to treat Aslan's wounds as best she can on the spot.

The lion digimon isn't very happy at all, but Zoe won't have any of it.

"I don't know what you were thinking, charging in there! If we hadn't been there- if Wayne and Sally hadn't been there, you could've..." She starts to tear up, even as she wraps a makeshify bandage made from her sleeve around his leg. "Y-you have to give it time to heal, okay?" Aslan, sensing her distress, calms down, looking rather disappointed- I can only imagine it's in himself.

"He...he was my enemy," the Lion mutters, staring at his foreleg. "I had to fight him..." This does NOT satisfy Zoe in the slightest, and she's about to rip into him again, when Sally speaks up.

"It's not quite that simple." Her voice is steadier than before, and she's stopped stumbling. "Aslan is a lion digimon. They have a notorious blood feud with goblin-type digimon, to the point where it is now instinct for them to fight as soon as they lay eyes on eachother." She then looks slightly bemused, as if wondering how she knew that.

Well. That puts things in a new perspective. Zoe isn't pleased, but is willing to let this go, it seems.

Aslan shoots both Sally and I a look, then turns away when we catch his gaze. Beside the small Lion, my friend huffs- as well as she can huff, anyway- and glares at him.

"Aslan, I think you have an apology to make," She says, and the Lion's head hangs in defeat.

Sally and I share an amazed look. Is this really happening?

Apparently, it is, because Aslan does speak.

"I...apologize for my behavior earlier this morning. I was out of line." It almost pains him to say those words, from his tone. It's not that he's apologizing to us in particular- I think it's just his pride. Sally has this smug look plastered on her face, but I merely nod in acceptance. Which was, apparently, the right thing to do, as Aslan merely nods back in some kind of thanks, and goes back to letting Zoe treat his injuries.

So...what now?

[] Go back to Zoe's. We need to rest and go over what we know.

[] Talk to the ogres- we need to set up a meeting point for them.

[] other?

Huh, seems the speculation of Aslan being found out by Zoe was right.
And THAT is why they followed us, that makes sense now.

sort out temporary accommodations for the ogres. This school is not the best place for them to be hiding. Maybe the old mausoleum in the park...

many have probably said that but I'm glad to see this quest wasn't dead after all

>The apology was accepted, and in a manly fashion.
>Talk to the ogres, then.

ok well lets go set the ogres straight and then go check on Aslan and see what we can do for him

I'm still amazed we go an apology from Aslan.
