Well now, isn't this a surprise that you would find yourself here...

It is the New Year of the 15th Century, and our war between our Clan of Noah and the wretched Disciples of God continues on again, another dark spot in suffering of human history, hm?

Well then, I suppose I should tell you what this play is about, hmmm, Akuma-chan<3?

You are a part of the Millenium Earl's great army of demons to conquer the threat of the exorcists and their anti-demon weapons known as innocence. Your purpose is to kill humans, and leave survivors so that more Akuma may be made from those that call out to their loved ones in grief!

Doesn't that sound... Charming? I thought it did.

You, like many of your brothers and sisters were made through the grief of such people, You see that person over there? They called you back... I'll be having you kill them and wear their skin soon!

Isn't it rich!? Oh, what a knee slapper... Heh, hehe... Oh, well. *Ahem, back to business.

You'll be evolving in time with the despair you cause, I know you can't quite understand me now, however.

>Who were you?

>[]" I was a blacksmith, I succumbed to a sickness..."
>[]" I was a soldier, cut down in the field of battle with the godless ottomans."
>[] "A simple Shepherd, killed by a knight when I couldn't afford my tax."
>[] "A wench, strangled to death by a "gentleman."
>[] "A milkmaid, suffered a strange affliction... I withered away slowly.."
>[] (Other)

>You may mix and match attributes of Gender, elaborate on background, and I'm willing to bend historical accuracies for the sake of story. There will also be magic involved, though nothing cosmos-bending.<

A nobleman fallen on the field of battle. Or at least what they claim truth be told we were poisoned which made us vulnerable on the battlefield. So when we died there would of been little suspicion. The bastards knew they couldn't take us on directly. So they just weakened us and have someone else do it for them.

It's a metal skeleton that I made! It's for sticking your soul in! You know, so you have parts to murder your loved one with.

As it is, I see three for the Strangled Baker, and 3 for some kind of wench, or a little girl that thinks she's as good as one.

3 Baker
3 (Loli) Wench.

Granted, in medieval Europe a 12 year old could be a perfectly acceptable wench.. right?

Bah.. Enough with this nonsense

Seems that you baked bread that was far too delicious for a particular beggar, and in a struggle for food in a poor part of the castle's town, you were killed for your creation of love...

Hmm... I see...

Now! Who is the one that called you back!

>[] Your grieving widow of a whore wife who's guilt over your passing caused her to turn away from god and speak with me <3!

>[] Your Son, or Daughter whom you've loved just as much as the craft of your ever-gentle bread...

"Claire"

You awaken, a dark pit of hatred deep within your heart... You have a heart?

You look down, seeing only a skeletal metal chasis. "What... What is this?" You see a man in a large coat standing beside you, presenting you as though you are some kind of gift to someone... Someone... You look ahead, and there you see...

"Here you are my dear Jacob! Your dearly departed Claire has returned to you!" The tall, impish man speaks down to your child-hood friend... gently... as though they too were dear and old friends.

Jacob approaches your cold, hard metal chassis as you feel within yourself a boiling, churning hatred for the man... how could he... how could he do this to you!?

"C-Claire? Is it... Really you? This man... he said that he could bring you back.. I called your name, I called your name and.." The man approaches you with a shocked wonder, the dirt upon his pants from work in the fields, freshly wet dirt leaving lines down his face from recent, and new tears.

You scream at the man, he did this to you," What have you done Jacob?! How could you put me in this state?! I hate you! I'll hate you as long as I live!"

Your old friend is taken aback, and the color leaves his face. The Tall man with the coat and mask chuckles out loud at the despair and confusion written all over his face.

"Very good Claire! Very good! Now, if you would kindly... Kill this gentleman and wear his skin... I can make my appointment for tea with my family! <3" The man speaks casually, as though murder is light, and outright slaughter is just another thing to do.

The bindings upon your body release you, and you fall to the ground, rising up with the man in your oculars. "Kill you... I will kill you.

"Claire... N-no..."

How will you butcher this horrible man?

A twisted thought occurs to you... and you smile, bearing fanged metal teeth.

"Jacob.." You whisper gently, you smell his fear die down a touch," I'm sorry for saying those mean things... You... You always loved me, didn't you? I noticed... I just didn't think I'd be good for you... Will you... Will you accept me now? The way I am?" It's such a corny speech, yet true.. he had feelings for you that he was ever poor at hiding.
The way that he'd visit you every morning with your first bake of bread, and give you those eyes with the soft looks. Those were from the same man that turned you into this.. this monster...

He puts his arms down and nods," I.. I accept you Claire... I will always love you, no matter what..." You take his words in and hold your arms out, he takes you into his embrace...
"Kiss me Jacob.." You whisper, a metallic voice ringing out through your machinery. He leans in... and you open your mouth wide, chewing into your face and staring into his horrified eyes as you end him, eating him away.

You consume him... all of him... and in time you lurch and feel his form surge around your body as your souls are both locked within the coils of this metal monster.

And then... Claire was gone.

A piercing laugh rings out into the world, and soon dies down as the joke is no longer funny. You are born, an Akuma, without a name, your teeth, your most viscous weapon... The form of a man that you once new surges over your form and covers the bones of your metal skeleton, soft, warm, disgusting human flesh replacing the feeling of your glorious, cold machine body.

"Congratulations my dear new Akuma!<3 Now, if you would be a dear, go ahead and kill a few people... or a dozen... If I have need of you... I will visit! Tata!" The man in the mask opens an umbrella within the rain that has since started fallen and washed the dirt from your face.

Currently, you appear as Jacob, flawlessly. However you draw no breath. Should someone aware of the "Unholy War" notice, you may be reported to an exorcist. Alternatively, if you are seen outright killing someone or transforming, that could also lead to rising suspicion. It would compromise your primary disguise.

That is, if you don't kill all the witnesses.

There will be upgrades that allow for additional disguises.

You will be rewarded for murdering people... The more creative, and horrible, the more bonus points.

A smile splits open your face as you contemplate the feeling of chewing apart a disgusting human...

Right then, things to do, people to kill, things to see, scum to eat... Say... have you got a taste for bread?
Hell no, that shit is for flesh-bags.
Hard alcohol however...

You wander into one of the poorer parts of town, trying to remember to take a fake breath now and then, blink as rain runs over your eyes.. It's all so very irksome..
Arriving at quiet tavern, you enter and ellicit a nod from the barkeep. You try to smile in return, yet the man's eyes go wide and he quickly looks away. Perhaps your smile is creepy? Might be worth some time in the mirror...
You see that most of the patrons mind their own, a few friends speak to each other.. Ambient speak of the plague that's going around, possible treasures to find, the high taxes, the bullshit knights, and the goddamn inquisition always banging god into them.

You see a few lonelier souls around the tavern... A whore that's been eyeing you since you walked in, and a man with cards that has an empty chair in front of him.

Wearing Jacob's skin, we need to play up our charms as a "man". Lure our prey to a secluded alleyway or a nice quiet room at an inn. Take this slow, every victim from here on must be handled with precision and patience. We must make the most of this night.

You order a drink from the bartender, lowering your head and letting your wet brown hair hang over your eyes, giving you what must be the most depressing look. You find a few coppers in your pocket and slide them over, taking your mug and heading over to the gambler.
"Mind if I sit?" You say, roughly. You're a man after all.
The man sets a shuffled deck down and takes a swig of his own poison... Heh, you like that... poison... before looking you in the eyes with a measure of concern,"Rough night?"
"Yeah.. My girl passed... You deal?"
"With pleasure, my good man.

The cards are dealt and even with some booze in you, you're still playing straight... the man can't read your expression and you soon win a great deal of his money, not that it matters.

He soon sets his cards down and stares at you, trying to figure you out. "You always win at cards like this, son?"
"Not usually.. Things need to turn around eventually though, right?
"Suppose they should," the man deals another hand.

A new man comes over to the table and takes a seat, and the three of you order a round.

Into the night, more men join and you clean most of them out while talking shit about all the things you're going to do with their money... one of the bigger men seems to start getting angry...

The whore at the bar seems to be watching you win big...

As they coins are stacked on your side of the table, and your poker face unreadable, you've got a reasonable stack of coppers and silvers.

However, there are too many watchers...

You whistle over at the woman that's been eyeing you,"Hey there lass. Seems that I'm the only real man here.." You see hard looks from the other men. They're glaring at you... "What say we get out of here for the night?" You throw the cards down obnoxiously and collect your winnings in the middle of the game.
The big man steps up to you as you make to move," Hey, I had a good hand, I think you were about to lose a lot of that money... right about now..." His voice comes out thick and husky, yet deadly threatening.
You wave off the man's threat," Yes, yes, I'll be leaving now. And thank you for your money." You move away and the man swings a haymaker and you slip past the slow punch, walking over to the wench, even as the bearded man turns around and picks up his chair.

With a hop onto a table, you kick off and send it back into the man as he roars again, other men from the table swing a bottle over his head, trying to knock out the berserker.

With a lull in the violence directed at you and more men drunk and pissed off at the pig thrower, you take this opportunity to slug a few of the men, destroy kegs , throw mugs everywhere... and then you begin with the chairs... all the chairs and tables.
You pitch them at doors with a bit of effort and soon find that the men have had all exits blocked off.

You grab an oil lantern and hop up upon the bar as the men tussle and fight each other on the ground, even the barkeep getting in on it.
"Attention, Attention everyone!" Some of the men stop the violence and look up at you, pausing for the moment. Your face splits into a smile,"You are all going to die! Thank you for your time!" You see their eyes go wide as you throw down the burning light source, and it all goes up in flames.. the men and wood covered in alcohol.
It is glorious. They stumble into the barricaded exits and find that there is nowhere to run as they attempt to grab through the burning wood... you feel satisfaction as you take in their screams...

And then you transform.

Your body stretches with a metal shell pushing outward, putting you down onto four mechanical metal paws, and with possession of an unhinged jaw that allows you to bite excessively large things. A human face upon your forehead and empty skeleton eyes that catch the flames of the fire that you started.

The men scream even more and you begin the slaughter...

> 320 exp

You kill them all... Not one man or woman left alive... You burst out of the back of the bar, into empty streets and a lack of eyes... No one survived that witnessed you transform..

You could go ahead and rampage the streets, though the next time you come around an exorcist could be traipsing about...

Keep dreaming, it will happen one day...
>>
Lets go to our farm and tend our field to maintain our disguise. Maybe something will come up
>>
You look about and decide to stop for now while you are ahead, dashing through allies upon your metal paws and slipping by most people, a black shadow with only gleams of moonlight catching your metallic form.

People scream, children cry, woman gasp, men go silent. And soon, after jumping off of a hovel, then onto and over the castle wall, you leap down and find the field that your ambient memory tells you that you had worked during the day.

The night washes down upon you, and at the edge of the field, you re-don your human skin... Yet then it strikes you... There's an old man living within the cottage of this shitty wheat and barley field.
One that you used to know... and a woman.. and a sister or two..

>[] Kill them... kill them all.
>[] approach them and act natural... as natural as you can manage...
>[] Stay away... Hunt for more men within the wood...

at night? that'll look suspicious.

let's go back to our house and lay low until daybreak. then we tend the fields to maintain a disguise.

that is, after finding a safe place to turn back into our disguise.

[X] Stay away... Hunt for more men within the wood...

besides, we can't just kill them all. we should save them for last, and leave one alive to become a potential Akuma

>>
I still say we should poison the town water supply with out akuma poison.
>>
>>25272382
.... oh
yes. Blood in the water.
>>
>>25272382

As a note, and I'll say this as Akuma are programmed with at least basic knowledge...

The resulting sickness is very obvious, it spreads Pentacles upon the skin. Higher levels may hide them, however not at the current level...

Higher levels can actually achieve mortality fast enough that it's not an issue.

Also, the poison is in your blood... and the blood is black.
>>
>>25272427
darn. save that strategy for later.
>>
>>25272382
>>25272418
but that'll just kill everyone and not leave any survivors.
besides, it just doesn't have what makes killing fun. being able to see the fear in your prey's eyes
>>
There will be a time for causing the black plague... Hmmm.., Oh yes.
>>
>>25272156
I just got a wonderful idea! Can we eject our blood-oil from different parts of our body? Better yet, can we evolve special pressurized nozzles for the same purpose? All sorts of applications come to mind:
-Weaponized recoil for incredible speed boosts and turning capabilities
-An encore of the night's festivities, spraying entire areas with our blood-oil to set up for more firey goodness
-Future upgrade to flamethrower canisters?
All sorts of fun stuff, really.
>>
Darn.

Maybe we should pay a visit at our old workplace and check on our ex coworkers, you know, to reminisce about Claire.

>Burning the blood Oil

Glorious...

Akuma have many random and increasingly unique abilities as they evolve. So far, for ideas we have:

> blood-oil cannons
> Chainsaw Teeth
> Opening up additional mouths across the body.

Keep it coming guys... It's all on you.

Mecha demon it up.
>>
>>25272486
soon, we will become a killing machine with chainsaw teeth and the ability to spew poisonous fire.
It's a beautiful image.... think of the terror in our prey's eyes. priceless. and delicious
>>
>>25272451
Black Plague is actually probably fairly good for akuma. ~33% is more or less optimal for leaving loved ones behind. Only plague that I can think of that would be better for us is the 10th one of Egypt. Perhaps we could evolve plague to trade speed for concealment. Give that anguish depression and suffering time to build for optimum profit.
>>
The best sort of plague would be one that rots the flesh and bone, sorta like leprosy and has an extremely variable kill time. Anywhere from a day to a month. Theres nothing as horrifying as seeing things you need to function as a normal person drop off you.
>>
You look at the hovel and you begin to walk towards it... though some outstanding reason pulls you away from it..

No... you would be discovered... you aren't a good enough actor as of yet... It would never do.

You look to the wood, thick and ripe with a fool or two. or two that may just be hunting this very night...

- - - - - - -

You track down a pair of hunters... likely a father and a child... you left some footprints to set them upon your trail, yet your agility allowed you to double-back around to their location...
You are in your demon form...

You'd suppose that the two are father and child, likely the first hunt that the boy's gone on with his father... The man showing the tricks of the trade being why they're so slow...

How will you handle this?

>[] Kill the father.
>[] Kill the Child.
>[] Kill them both, Wonder if there will be a search party?
>[] (Other)

You may also detail how you'd like to murder these two!

Remember, graphic horrible murder yields extra experience!
>>
>>25272609
that evokes an even more beautiful image.
A machine with multiple mouths, all spewing poisonous fire as it's chainsaw teeth makes it sounds like a terrifying roar of some sort.

it's so beautiful, I would probably cry if I had the capacity.
>>
>[] Kill the father.

and maybe an eyeball or two. Leave a few bones, make it look like some wild animal killed him.
>>
>>25272701
So for our plague we want approximately 33% lethality preferably favoring children and teens with symptoms manifesting as leporsy and maybe oozing more of the oil with nice long period of time in which it might kill you before it gets better and maybe chance of sudden relapse up to years down the line? Oh yes also a week or two of incubation before onset so we can be well out of town by the time symptoms start showing.
>>
>>25272748
Kill the father stealthily and hide again, let the boy wonder where he went for a moment before kill him too
>>
>>25272851
oh, and act like your gonna kill the boy, then run back into the forest. I want to see if he pees his pants in fear.
>>
>>25272748
Can we kill the dad out of the boys sight, then scare the shit out of him as he wanders the forest before we kill him too?
>>
Oh yes, I wanted to mention.

The who and who at character creation was to have some impact on the Akuma for when personality is built.. It also helped establish background for where the character should or would be!

Still need to murder that goddamn hobo...
>>
>>25272748
Kill the child in slowest most sadistic way possible after making father lame in one leg so he has to watch and cannot get help in time. Maybe set traps instead of doing it ourselves to prevent inquisitors everywhere
>>

Kill the child.

>It was supposed to be my boy's first hunting trip

>Oh god it's all my fault
>I'd do anything to get my boy back
>Please, if anyone could bring him back it's you

>>
>>25272748
Observe them first. Which one shows the most signs of being so distraught with grief and despair that the horrible death of their loved one that they will beg their son/father to be back (thus calling upon the Earl to create more Akuma--which, if we feel mean, we could turture and eat to increase our own power),

As for killing them... bury them in the snow. Slowly crush them under more snow, and other matter (rocks, trees, etc.). Make sure that they don't know where each other are, but leave them enough strength and space so that they would call out to each other. As the weight on them increases, the calls will naturally get weaker, heightening their fear and terror (as well as eventual grief). Shift away the weight when one of them dies (or is close enough to death that they would die in the other's arms).

Though, make sure there is no one close enough to hear the calls.
>>

New plan to kill the town. Water the crops with the poison blood, and watch as the people drop.

>>
>>25273009
I'm not sure, but I don't think we are supposed to eat other Akuma. not that I'm not behind that idea, but more Akuma means more competition for prey.
>>
>>25273047
At very least we want the boy within screaming range of father and a body found that makes it look like he died from an animal.
>>

You stalk the two hunters as they keep following your tracks... you contemplate how to deal with them...
The boy... the father... both?
Hmmm, decisions, decisions...
The boy looks chewier... like he'll feel better in your teeth.

That's the one then!

You follow them closely, like a shadow of death... You get closer... and closer... You can see the breath of the man in the cold air as the rain breaks...
The Boy's neck just looks so... squishy... Yet you don't want that... you need him to scream. He doesn't see you as you clamp down onto his side, crushing his ribs and a lung in one go. You drag him away with an unnatural speed as the father fails to notice his child has vanished while his eyes are focused on a track.

With sufficient distance, you readjust your maw upon the kid, and then remove it from his body, his blood leaking out of your maw and dripping into the slush and wet mud of the wood.

Panic is clear upon his face... you notice a strange steamy warmth from his crotch and realize the boy has relieved himself in fear, with a growl, he screams out, and you clamp your viscious fangs down upon his skull, chewing him until he's pulp and beyond. Swallowing whatever you find exceptionally delectable, and being sure to ravage the corpse.

You pause and observe your handiwork, you see that the boy has a bow and leave that in tact, it needs to be identified, you think... right?
You howl into the night to draw the attention of the man and then rightly scurry off into the brush, waiting for the man to follow the trail of blood... finding the son...

>[]Observe longer from the brush.
>[] Bow out from this place and seek more prey within the nightly woods... though it may be scarce.
>[] Skip town, follow the road...
>[] Return to town...
>>
So, here's an idea I wanted to share; if we ever get ourself an elemental affinity and we go for fire, we could try burning our own blood-oil to create some sort of toxic fog which we could hide ourselves in. Go all Jack the Ripper, you know? Could even adjust the dosage to change the rate at which the fog could kill a normal person.

Blah, I'm just excited for all the ways we can go about killing stuff.

You linger for enough time that you observe the father find his son, it takes some time with how far you dragged the child. You stifle a chuckle as the man kneels before the body, a choked cry coming out and then a full "Noooo!" from the freshly grief-stricken man.
Your work here is done... You carefully slip away, leaving with nothing but a few pawprints.

You return to the town...You prowl about the outside of the castle-town's walls with some irritance... You could only jump out due to a nearby hovel... This time you don't have that luxury... it's through the currently closed gate off gate or nothing... and doubtful that the guard would open in the dead of night for a peasant like yourself... You need to nurture a status..

>Hopping the castle wall from outside requires agility at 3

So we're Level 1 right now, correct? But our "Akuma" form is like this wolf-like monster?
>>
>>25274507
Wait, doesn't level 4 involve a grotesque ritual made by a Noah?
>>
>>25274544
Level 4 is that weird baby angel thing, so yeah.
>>
>>25274540
A level two is a reasonable match for a single exorcist correct?
>>
You contemplate further murder as you sulk outside the walls in your demon-mode... You consider this for a while and then revert to your human form, jingling your bag of coins with a bit of pride.

How wonderful, you have just the excuse...

It's around midnight that you enter the hovel that your family calls, "home" however it is reasonably cozy... None question you as you slip in and rest in a nice warm bed... Your human-shell quickly falls asleep...

You realize that this night was actually rather bountiful... gruesome kills, a man lost his son in the woods. and none of it weighs heavily upon your heart.

By morning, you've got a strange urge to bake bread... and an unfathomable hatred for poor people... seriously, fuck those begging pieces of shit.. You rise at the crack of dawn, completely rested, though you decide to feign a bit of fatigue to throw off suspicion...

Many people have suffered accidents in one night...

>Will you lay low for some time and let things blow over?

>People won't just... Kill themselves... I've got work to do!
>>
>>25274563
I think so. Level 3 could take on a group of experienced exorcist.
>>
>>25274563
Level 2 is pretty much mid-tier, so yeah. Level 3 is for the advanced exorcists. And level 4 seems to be for the General class.
>>
>Will you lay low for some time and let things blow over?
>>
>>25274571
Lay low, man.
>>
>>25274571
>Cause more "accidents"
>Always make sure it looks like an accident or wild animal rather than a murder
>Eventually people start to think the town is cursed
>>
>>25274571
Lay low, figure out where all the hobos live in the city.
>>
>>25274563
Yes. A reasonable match.
>>25274540
As firearms aren't really a thing in this era, I switched the lv 1 to the next best thing... Fucking hounds. Hounds everywhere.

Though there may be some changes there as well.

Right now, you're stuck on all fours. in demon-mode.
>>
>>25274571
>Cook some bread
>put our blood in the bread
>distribute the bread
>>
Lets bake some bread and distribute it to the poor and hobos.

They will never see it coming.
>>
>>25274632
Do you want to get exorcists coming to town?

The blood causes visible marks you twit
>>
>>25274602
We should lay a greasy trap for the exorcist who will come to invesigate
>>
>>25274650
Even better!
>>
>>25274632
no no no. that'll raise huge red flags because our poison gives people distinctive marks that make the Exorcists come running.
>>
>>25274661
no, bad anon. we aren't strong enough yet. wait til we at least get to lvl 2. THEN we start luring exorcists.
>>
>>25274661
At level 1 any exorcist could murder us. Lets avoid confrontation until we get to level 2.
>>
>>25274611
I'm thinking we go light on the murder for now except for performing a reasonable impression of the works of a certain mister "Saucy Jack" as I do believe he called himself. Go for a more diverse range of poorfags to go after though. And we also need an excuse as to why we keep on going to the city. Also we should be acting hungover as befitting our cover story.
>>
>>25274661
Can we please fucking milk this town for as much xp as we can before we get to the point where grinding on townsfolk is just not worth it and we can just beat exorcists a bit more easily?
>>
Could we not kill half our family, effectively turning the other half into minions some way?
>>
>>25274741
nah, lets just kill them all. but not right now.
>>
Do we have enough money to buy Claire's old bakery? Or did she not own the shop?

Working at a bakery would let us let out our quirk naturally.
>>
>>25274773
See if she had a will
>>
I got an idea, let's see if we can find that hunter guy and "let slip" the rumor that there is this "Earl" guy who can resurrect people, unless the Earl already got him.
>>
>>25274798
Oh he'll get him
>>
>>25274798
It doesn't matter if he knows about him or not. At all.
>>
>>25274798
we do not mention the Earl. ever. that is sure to get exorcists there.
>>
>>25274798
>>25274814
Yeah, it's the feeling of despair that draws the Earl in.
>>
>>25274741
Better yet kill various important family friends thereby bringing entire family into the fold. You know siblings crushes Dad's higher placed friend, Mom's something or other (or we just kill her and get 2 parents for the price of 1)
>>
>>25274814
Never read D.Gray, didn't know if that mattered. Apart from killing, we should be actively trying to make more Akuma, yes?
>>
>>25274834
Not necessarily. Too many Akuma in one area would be bad. Plus, if the Earl wanted for more Akuma to be in one place, he'd order them to gather there.
>>
>>25274834
From what little I read, the Earl's ultimate goal is to crush the "Heart of Innocence" which itself is an Innocence. which basically powers all of the Exorcists "Innocences" or weapons
>>
>>25274834
not too quickly. will totally raise a red flag
>>
>>25274856
I mean, unless the Akumas are able to effectively disguise themselves and/or hold back from slaughtering too many people. Since we're trying to be stealthy, we don't want too many mindless Akuma around except as someone to blame the town's murders on.
>>
You take your time, laying low, keeping yourself from killing and eating anyone for a few nights... Your family appreciates the winnings that you brought back for them, yet when they questioned you, it was simple to laugh it off and tell them of your impressive new, and successful gambling habit!
However you begin to approach your limit within a few nights without slaughtering people and begin to wander around the city's slums once more at night...

Due to your lack of willpower, you can't seem to control this urge all that well.. yet the disgusting homeless population is certainly thinned by your efforts... Though biting out their throats and letting them bleed out only proves to be so satisfying before it becomes a droning task... Letting them scream would be too risky, and most are not rememberd by any others... And still others simply accept their fate... Listening to talks in taverns reveals that not many people notice the loss of homeless... Most are still talking about the fire...

>Exp Gained 150

>No more exp will be gained for the hopeless homeless... Still, fuck those pieces of shit.

You find that your family has left what to do with your earnings to your own discretion...

Claire had not left a will as she had not expected to be murdered by a filthy beggar, however the shop is indeed for sale...

>>

>[] Purchase the bakery within the town..

lets get some willpower
>>
>>25274944

As a note, being able to fulfill some kind of OCD grants temporary levels of willpower.

Killing the homeless kept your teeth off of the family.
>>
>>25274900
Did we get the beggar that killed us?
>>
>>25274900
Buy the bakery, the farm is fine and the gear is worthless to us.
>>
>>25274981

You can't remember what he looked like... you killed every one that you could find.
>>
>>25274975
Like baking bread right?
>>
>>25274995

Exactly!

Or loathing poor people. If you had more ways to undermine or trash on them other than killing them, that'd satisfy it too.
>>
>>25275006
Do we actually need to eat?
>>
>>25275020

Eating removes evidence. Though really, it's more the killing.
>>
>>25275006
So specifically let bread go bad/spike it with laxatives then give it to poor people?
>>

I do believe he was referring more to the squishy meat bag type eating where they eat stuff that is already killed in order to gain sustenance.
>>
>>25275006
Let's go all Sweeney Todd here, people. Kill homeless people. Use them as ingredients in our famous meat pies. Give them to homeless people for free.

I'm still partial to that poison fog idea (poison + fire), but for now, yeah, I think we should focus on these three.

Also, what physical stat should we improve next? Should we continue to increase our agility or how about we upgrade our willpower?
>>
>>25275073
Will it be wasted if we don't crit fail?
>>
>>25275073

Take off the once per thread.

It can be activated more than once, yet it inverts a roll.
Crit becomes fail
Fail becomes crit.

Higher levels may negate a crit with a limit on the use.

Passively, it allows absurdly lucky things to occur.

And gambling receives major bonuses.

When you make the next thread, you should also lay down the rules for dice rolls as well as our 'current' stats.

Akuma can spot other akuma, and most likely exorcist, since most exorcists aren't subtle.

Akuma can smell innocence to some extent, and it often goads them into attacking. Exorcists don't often hide who they are and will walk in public to try to attract Akuma for that purpose.

They cannot sense you unless their weapons specifically give them the ability.

A set of small horns also sprout from the head of your demon-form, giving a nod to the force that watches out for you.

You purchase Claire's old bakery. In some part of you, there's a feeling of sentimentality... however that gets snuffed out rather quickly as your mind is filled with contemplations of killing more homeless, though there really aren't that many anymore...

You get down to baking some bread and that feeling washes away as you satisfy the itch you've had for some time...

January 12th 1400.

You spend a few days getting Claire's business back up and running, the compulsions to outright murder people suppressed.

However, your customers do lend you ear to rumors that people in black and silver clothes are coming to visit the church within the town..

You are a bit curious as to the information as if they're with the church, they are not poor... And if they're traveling... they are certainly not poor...

You also note in your recent cavorts in the night, that more people have been dying, from what whispers tell of a wold in the woods...
With sick satisfaction, you surmise it to be the kid you killed. Akuma brother #1 made, and ready for scapegoating, you chuckle to yourself one early morning while you make bread....

And then that customer comes in at the first bake. . . Wearing a black Robe with a silver cross sewn into it, and cut just above the knee, allowing more freedom of movement.
The young lady smiles brightly and kindly at you,"Hello there Mr. Baker! I've heard that this bread is some of the best in town! I really just HAD to stop by and try some!" The strangest urge rises up that you should be murdering her right now....

What will you do?

>>
>>25275445

If you weren't making bread right now... it'd be instant attack.
>>
>>25275418
Serve her regularly.
Mention to her some of the rumor going around town.
>>
>>25275418
Go for especially good high quality bread. This will be the best loaf we ever make. Also do we get more or less obsessions as our personality stat goes up?
>>
>>25275464
Why mention it first? Let her bring it up. See what she knows and see if we can work it to our advantage.
>>
>>25275480

Can gain more, or choose to enhance one.
>>
>>25275418
Act as normally as possible, but mention the rumors of a beast in the woods. A scapegoat to get the exorcist off your tail is probably a good idea, at least to gauge their strength.
>>
>>25275500
We need to buy enough personality that we don't actually need to bother with the killing so long as we are making bread.
>>
>>25275520
Willpower, you mean.
>>
>>25275520
I think you meant willpower
>>
>>25275418
Certainly. I've heard that travelers were coming to visit our church soon, am I right in guessing you're one of them? Besides partaking in my baked goods, what brings you to our town, if I may inquire?
>>
>>25275508
Only mention beast if the woman of the cloth starts asking about rumors
>>
>>25275520

Eeyup, although >>25275544 may be right. If she mentions it, maybe offer to "help" her search the woods?
>>
>>25275546

>>
>>25275546
Why not just upgrade willpower then? It also gives Innocence resist, which seems pretty important.
>>
>>25275418

>[] Serve it regularly.
>[] Make small-talk.

be as pleasant as possible.
>>
>>25275572
Yeah, but Willpower would do the same thing and would always apply.

Personality just gives us more uniqueness.

>>25275594
That's what I was saying. I was just clarifying what Personality does for the other anon.
>>
>>25275571
Really we're probably too low level to pose a threat to them(please note this is a group of exorcists and we are at can(n)on fodder stage) if possible I would prefer our feature of note to them is we do really good bread.
>>
>>25275571
I don't know if that offer will immediately cast suspicion on us, we're a baker not an animal tracker or guide. Even if we do get her to agree, there are several of them in the town, her disappearing is a dead giveaway if she doesn't already have a plan of ambush for us already.
>>
>>25275668
Ah that's right, several. I forgot that little detail.
>>
Don't make any offers of help unless we're asked. As far as she knows, we're just the town baker.

If she needs a tracker, she'll need a hunter. Who our Akuma brother is probably masquerading as, if he hasn't changed identities.
>>
You ease your mind as you take a nice fresh loaf of bread out of the stone oven, placing it upon the counter to cool for the young lady, you strain a smile as you keep yourself under control in this verrry important and sooothing activity, "Here you are, the very best bread of the morning!"
The girl's eyes light up, seemingly entranced by the bread and its smell,"Oh wow, this smells as good as I've heard! Say, do you make sweet things as well?"
You throw your hands up and shake your head," Oh no, no.. I dear friend of mine recently passed away. I took over this bakery in her memory... I think it's what she would have wanted.."
The young lady stares at you from underneath her hood, her mouth drooping open a bit at your sad words.
She runs behind the counter and gives you a heavy hug, her head stopping just below your chest,"Don't cry Mr. Baker! It's okay, she's in the hands of God now! I'm so sorry... This bread.. it'll taste better knowing that you serve your friend's memory..."

You REALLY want to kill her right now...

"I really need to put my next bake in the oven or it'll overproof.." You put her on the head, dismissively.
She lets go and smiles at you,"I'll watch you for a bit, can I mister Baker?"
"Sure, go ahead" You grab some rising bread from the counter and throw it in the Oven, the girl throws silvers upon the counter after snatching the hot loaf of bread and juggling it between her hands.
"Ah, erm... little lady, this is too much..."
"It's fine," she says, brown hair slipping from underneath the hood, and now you see thick iron shackles dangling upon her wrist, and hazel eyes. "The Church gives me plenty of money, I'm an exorcist after all. I come to places where bad things happen and make them stop!"
You put a look of surprise upon your face," Oh, I see, are you here then about the beasts in the wood? They've been out of control these days..."
The young lady nods vigorously,"Rightly so! I'm gonna go beat -em up!"
>>
You force a laugh as you take another round of bread from the oven," Well, you be careful not to hurt yourself little lady..."
"I won't, I'll visit you again before I leave! Bye, Bye Mr. Baker!"
The young lady runs off and leaves you richer before your regulars stop in... It is with some grim contemplation that you consider what needs to be done...
She smells... terrible... You think to yourself...

Ask her if she's going to do this alone. It'd be dangerous for someone like her to enter the forests alone, especially since she's unfamiliar with the area.

If we're lucky, she'll reveal how many there are in her group and, maybe, how many are exorcists.
>>
Aside, there's still 50 exp left... unless you want to save that for an earlier willpower upgrade.

Hmm...

By what name should I refer to the akuma?

Akuma-chan...
Claire...
Jacob..
Hmmm... or should we have a new, akuma name?
>>
>>25275780
>[] Leave well enough alone, keep shop open all day and go gambling at night!
Also keep the gambling more low key than usual and do not attempt to goad others into following you and killing them. We are on our best behavior because there are exorcists in town. Also I am really glad right now that we did not go for rich people hating.
>>
>>25275895
Go for Akuma-chan for now. Real names, maybe, for when we get more of an identity beyond kill-maim-repeat.
>>
I would remind you, that unless you are either baking or putting the poor into their place, the effective level of willpower will be 1.

Which means a passing exorcist will elicit an immediate attack.
>>
Do we have the willpower to not kill while there is Exorcists in town? if so, maybe lay low. Also, about how big a town is this? you mentioned walls, is this a city?
>>
>>25275933

It's a castle-town. There's a few noble-sorts and a lord within the castle. The outskirts are farm-land with far off breaks that give way to wood.

There are slums in the southeast portion of the city and gradually improved living conditions the closer you get to the small castle in the northwest.
>>
>>25275933
We don't have the Willpower. We don't even have enough to upgrade our Willpower.

Best to stay away for now.
>>
>>25275780
Leave well enough alone, the other akuma is perfect scape goat material
>>
>>25275929
What gambling is making new poor people and putting them in their place at the same time. But in all seriousness we should probably lay low.
>>
New option for the paranoid:

Bake bread.
All day.
Bake bread
Into the night.
Keep baking bread....

Until the exorcists leave,
>>
We should at least try to get to the other Akuma to warn him to lay low. Get the Exorcists to believe that it really is just normal beasts killing normal folk.
>>
>>25276006
While caution would be useful, it's important to note that Exorcists=Loadsa EXP. I'd say play it safe... for now.
>>
>>25276006
nah, don't bother with the other Akuma. He's going to be the one to convince the exorcists to leave.

Anyway lets head to a better bar and see if we can't pickup a meal.
>>
>>25276006
well now that you put it that way.... YES!
>>
>>25276016
And by warn him to lay low you mean tell him how extra delicious exorcists are and that he should totally try to eat them?
>>
>>25276040
Fine. We could make him the bait and attack the Exorcists if they've been sufficiently weakened.
>>
>>25276064
So sit in bakery making bread all day and setting up bed of flour sacks in the bakery because we do not have the willpower to not flip on any exorcist we come across when not baking and therefore cannot lie in ambush and are at can(n)on fodder tier anyway.
