All I can say is that I'm aware of it and that it doesn't really bother me though I try to work on it. I could agonize and sit around with a thesaurus to try to improve my quality of writing, but at the end part of running a quest is about keeping things rolling... so if people are willing to overlook horrible grammatical errors and some lack of variety when it comes to writing I'll try to keep things moving on to more interesting things rather than causing people to focus on the words used instead of the information conveyed.

The only good I can see coming of that crit fail is leaning on Ming Puar's shoulder all the way to the house of white tiles.

"I think I can walk, at least I shouldn't be falling over anytime in the near future", Ming Puar extends a hand and helps you to your feet. You take three steps, then on the fourth you collapse into a heap. You're struggling to breath and Ming Puar runs over in concern.

You attempt and nothing, there's nothing there - you start to hyperventilate a little.

"I need to see where she hit you" Ming says as she starts removing your clothing, aiding her as much as possible you immediately follow her gaze when you hear her go "Oh no...".

You see two blackish bruises on your skin, and the veins around them seem to be blacker. "Gen Xiao Ren says this isn't good - normally chi blocking disappears naturally, either something is wrong with you or Lao Len was able to do things that people shouldn't be able to normally."

She pulls two needles out of her sash that you would have never known she had. "Gen Xiao Ren says that I need you to heat these up with your firebending the hotter the better it will infuse them with chi and then I'll need to drive them into the wounds, fairly deep too. There will be blood, he says we'll have to cauterize the area afterwards. Can you manage that?"

You nod and Ming immediately proceeds about the treatment with your help. You feel agony when the pins are driven in, they remain there for almost thirty seconds and you can feel yourself regaining sensation in your two previously numb limbs.

The pins are pulled out and you quickly cauterize the flesh around where they were with nothing but your bending - it's going to take a while for them to heal properly, and it will leave you with scars but you'll be able to walk and fight in the meantime.

You dash down the ramp and into the inferno, with a hop and a quick blast you manage to disperse most of the immediate heat, the whole warehouse smells sickly sweet like burning plants and also horrifying like burning flesh. Ming Puar and yourself run headlong past the larger fires, the two of you narrowly dodge a falling wooden crane and its ropes. A large fire is directly in front of your path to the exit and with a parting motion you manage to split most of it. Ming Puar runs through quickly, but the fire quickly returns to where you parted it from.

Taking a desperate breath you decide to perform a flaming leap even though you feel uncertain. You throw your staff over to Ming Puar who catches it with ease, then with three running steps you jump and channel a blast of fire straight down and you clear the wall of fire, only to slam into the wall above the door leading outside, It jars your wounded shoulder but you manage to not collapse again as you drop to your feet.

As you exit the warehouse you survey the haze of smoke over the city and determine that you need to get back to the house of white tiles before the fire spreads even further into shen jiao.

Some people were certainly being idiots about it yes, but I was very interested in seeing if anyone could come up with an actual reason to save lao len. So far the character's identity as a gypsy has yielded that he's a bit superstitious, he cares deeply for his family, has had trouble(though some success) at trusting others, and he's been accepting of his powers.

Firebender quest has been pretty cool though.. DB's not a bad guy, and I like to follow this when I'm not running or I've got a slow spell at work.
