Your name is Heather Leery, and there's a hull breach in hydroponics.
You and Damien were waiting outside the door for the room to repressurize. Devourer was still a very cybernetic you, her leg hissing as she limped to you.
After a moment, the doors open- and you saw Rose hugging herself, Robin hugging her. Hydroponics was dark, blast shields over the window, and there was the strong smell of smoke and burning wood. The only source of light was... Rose herself, glimmering red and white.
"Shh, shh, it's fine." Robin said. "We're okay, it's fine."
"O-okay." Rose said, and then Robin started giggling, pulling her clone to her feet.
"You were right!" Robin called, and whirled Rose around to face you. "She does have a power!"
Still glowing, bioluminescence dancing along Rose's skin, she tried to hide behind Robin.

"Oh my lord, are you two okay?!"
"We're fine." Robin said. "She, uh, accidentally melted the glass and set a bit of things on fire, but the life support sprayed stuff on the trees." Robin said.
"Sorry!" Rose said again.
"What caused the hull breach?"
"She shot a *laser*." Robin said, grinning.
"I didn't mean to!" Rose said, suddenly. Robin patted her on the shoulder.
"It's fine, you'll figure out how to use it." Robin said. "I did!"
"... I guess she can't control it when she gets excited either, uehehehehehe~" You say, and start giggling.

Rose blushed brightly- literally, in this case, her cheeks glowing red.

"Hah! Knowledge never fails me." You say, and close your eyes, focusing.

"Maybe we've both got light powers! Hurrah!"
>>
We can learn together! Though its more control in your case then power. I can only do a bit of a light show.
>>
You close your eyes, and open them-
And Rose was a maelstrom of power. The entire electromagenetic spectrum coiled around her, welling up around her. The room wasn't dark because there was no light, but because she was *absorbing* it.

Einstein chirped.
"Radio signal lost." He said.
>>
>>25220713
"You can do the photon powers! Hooray! Think about...turning invisible!"
>>
Huh we can do that to. Though it takes a conscious effort. Lets get Jilly to help us pass along what we've learned so far. Maybe that will help her learn how to stop, or at least tone it down.

"Like what?"
"Like... um, well, Theta can smell things, and Isaac can feel what he TKs, and I know people's Wheres..." Robin said. "Maybe you have something like that."
"I don't know." Rose said, mortified.

"Rose, it seems like you can manipulate things like light and radio waves!" You say. "We can practice together!"
You pull her and Robin into a hug, and Rose blushed more as you did so. The closer you got, the dimmer she seemed to, until you were hugging something hardly visible. Robin giggled.

"Good thing I have clairvoyance." Damien said.
"I only have telepathy." Devourer said. "So I only have a general idea of their location."
>>
>>25220792
"Okay, well. Right now, you're absorbing all the photons in the room. If you want to turn invisible...think about, um, shifting them around you. Yeah, think about shifting all the little photons around you."

"Okay. Well." You say. "Right now, you're absorbing all the photons in the room. If you want to turn invisible... think about, um, shifting them around you. Yeah, think about shifting all the little photons around you."
Rose was quiet for a moment. And then, you felt things twist... And light rush around you, around Rose, and around Robin, coiling inwards. Everything, save those two, looked like it was on the other side of a glass bottle, lensed and focused strangely. Hydroponics lit up again, UV lights in the ceiling flickering on. A technician came in.
"Is everything alright in here?" He asked Damien.
"Yeah, it's okay." He said. "The glass behind that blast shield has a hole melted into it, though."
"Oh dear." He said. "I'll get the crew on it."
"Sorry." Rose said, quietly.
The technician looked around, eyes glancing right across you, Rose, and Robin. Then he frowned for a moment.

"Wait, what?" The technician asked, looking toward you. Carefully, he walked closer. "Is there someone there?"
"... No, not at all." Robin said, and giggled.
"Space ghooooosts~" You respond, and Robin's giggles redoubled.
The technician just paused a moment, and then chuckled, and made his way out of the room again.

"Robin, I have to say that Rose is cuter than you." You say.
"Of course!" Robin said, and smushed Rose's cheeks with her hands. "She's adorable!"
Rose just tried prying Robin's hands off to no avail.
"Just think of the calamity this could cause. Invisible teleporters. What a nightmare."
"Ehehehehe~" Robin said, and giggled. "Hey, why haven't you learned teleportation, Heather?"
>>

After that I never really thought about trying to do it myself. When tecknopathy seemed to be a bit limitting I tried biokinesis, which made Devourer and Theta turned out much better. Recently I started I tried photokinesis. Now Rose here has stolen my thunder in that area. "

Mock pout at her.

" But that doesn't mean I'm going to quit!"
>>
>>25221027
"Well, as of right now I've got telepathy, telekinesis, knowledge, awakening, manifestation, and photokinesis.
That's kind of a lot on my plate as it is."
>>
"I don't know. It never really crossed my mind." You say. "And I'm hella overloaded on powers as it is. I'm lucky I got the light absorption done, so I can at least recharge myself when I'm tired. I still need to try out... Conversion."
"Conversion?" Rose and Robin asked simultaneously.
"Conversion's cool." Damien said. "Or will be. Unless you mess up too badly."
"Yeah, but what is it?" Robin asked.
"That's for Heather to find out." He said, and stuffed his hands in his pockets.

matter to energy
matter to different matter
energy to matter
>>
>>25221289
Energy to Energy
>>
>>25221274

why didn't I think of that
>>
*sigh* we should have tried to be Accelerator.
>>
>>25221289
What about energy to different energy?
I mean turning gravity into electromagnetism would be pretty sweet. Also energy to matter is manifestation if I recall.
>>
<Can't you at least give me a hint?> You ask Damien.
<You can use it on energy, or matter. And maybe reverse entropy.> He said, and gave you a grin. <There's your hint.>
"... Are you tempting me? Because I think you're tempting me."
"I am indeed tempting you." He said.

"Come on, rose, they can probably set up something for you to practice control of your new powers too."
"Okay." She said, quietly.
"I'll call Max, have him tell us who to meet." Robin said.
>>
>>25221289
Haha oh god this is going to be hilarious.

Ten grams of mass is going to be a 200 kiloton nuclear bomb. Unstoppable.
>>
>>25221326
>energy to matter is manifestation
the key difference in my mind is that this way Alex couldn't just dispel it with a touch
>>
>>25221334
"Do you want to try now? We can both do some simple stuff, like balls of light."
>>
Also Rose I admit I can get a tad carried away with teasing people. If it gets too much tell me and I'll tone it down.
>>
>>25221334
Presumably it's matter/energy conversion, and presumably in both directions. Kind of like manifestation, except accomplished within the realms of physics.
>>
>>25221334

let's get to proper training arrangements, we need different kinds of materials, and energy sources.

>>25221364

I also support this.
>>
>>25221375
Technically we'd still be raping the hell out of the 2nd law of thermodynamics unless we like turned like an entire star's worth of energy into a paper clip.
>>
>>25221334
"That is very, very tempting."

"Do you foresee anything terrible happening if I practice now? Like right now?"
>>
>>25221402
Okay, MOST of the laws of physics.
>>
"Also, Rose, I admit I can get a tad carried away with teasing people." You say. "If it gets too much, tell me and I'll tone it down."
"No, that's okay." Rose said, quietly.
"Oh! I just noticed you were here!" Robin said, and stepped out of the strange glass-like bubble to Damien. "You! Come give her a hug!"
"Why me?"
"You saved her!" Robin said, and kissed him on the cheek.
"... Oh." He said, and blinked. You got the impression that he didn't see that. She tugged him into the bubble, and gave Rose a hug.

"Sorry I tried to hit you with a chair when you came out of nowhere." She said, quietly.
"It's fine. I saw it, anyway."
"Do you see anything terrible happening if I practice now? Like, right now?"
"Right now, I see you turning one of the trees into light and heat, and Max getting upset at you. In around two dozen timelines, at least. In a few, some bad things happen, but there aren't many of those. And in one, you actually... well, that'd be spoilers. Regardless, whatever happens, Max'll be upset since we did it in here."
"Will Max be upset at me?" Rose asked.
"Nah, he's cool about things you can't control." Damien said.

>>25221462

"well, I'm feeling fine but i don't feel like having Max yell at me if I can avoid it."
>>
>>25221462
"So let me get this right. Conversion is like manifestation, except I also use matter outside of my delicious brainsugar, and it can also be used to convert matter to energy without pooping deadly radiation everywhere? That sounds like it's worth learning."
>>
>>25221462
"I'll come and help you learn the basics. I can do some light stuff. If you learned invisibility just like that you're going to overtake me really quickly though."
>>
"Right, to the practice rooms so we don't make the wolf angry." You say, and start to walk. Rose followed, and the bubble continued rushing on. "He's very intimidating when he's angry."
"Oh man." Robin said. "Max wants *Neva* to be Rose's councilor. And we're supposed to meet her soon."
"I also have to meet Max and the new councilors. And tell them what I know." Devourer said, her voice mechanized, limping. "It would probably be best if I were in a different form, most likely."

Eventually, you made your way to the TK room, where you'd practiced creating those crystals. The room had someone in it, though, and you could feel... Ellie.
"This isn't fair." Ellie groaned, frustrated. "I can't do any of this stuff. Why'd you strap me to all these machines?"

Ellie had a big sensor helmet on, complete with a full sensor suit. She was frowning, rather unhappy, the sensor suit connected to the terminals themselves.
"See? Nothing." She said, and frowned at Jason.
"Well... You are doing things correctly." He said. "Same brain chemistry as our telekinetics. If we gave you a transgenetic modification, I'm sure we could find out-"

"Because you're awesome." You say.

Ellie whirled around, as did Jason. Both of them tried looking around- and then Ellie met your eyes accidentally- and they widened. "She's there! Invisible!"

You twitched- and you couldn't see anything. A loud, piercing sound entered your ears. A moment later, you opened your eyes...
And you could hardly make out Ellie's shape, your vision blurred. You shook it, and the blur subsided a bit.
"Your eyes just went grey." Ellie said, and pulled you into a hug. "Are you okay?"
"She'll be fine." Damien said, and pulled something out of his pockets. "Eventually.
A pair of glasses. "Here." He said.

You put them on, and your eyes struggled to focus themselves- but they did, on Ellie. You could see again.

"Thanks, Damien. Whose were those glasses?"
"Had Omni make them yesterday." He said. "There was a good chance you'd need them."

You pout.
"I just want to Know stuff." you say, and sigh. "Alright, I give up. Apparently even Knowledge itself conspires to keep your weirdness secret. That slipperiness must be a psionic power! Or anti-power! Or something."
"I'm not weird!" She said. "Or slippery."
"... Hi." Rose said, quietly, hiding behind Robin. Ellie caught her eye, and grinned.
"... You're so cute!" Ellie said, and smooshed Rose's cheek.
"I know, right?!" Robin asked, and the two started to pester Rose, pinching at her cheeks. Eventually, Ellie hefted the younger clone onto her shoulders.
"... Anyways." Jason said. "You here for anything?" The young councilor asked.
"I think she planned to try out Conversion." Damien said. "But that could change."

"Yeah." You say. "Conversion! Pretty ominous, right?"
"Sounds ominous." Jason said. "But technically scientifically neutral."
"I don't need to see to do brainmagic!" You say.
"Alright." He said. "What do you need?"
"She needs a concrete block, and... Hm. How are you feeling, Rose?" Damien asked.
"Um, I'd like to be set down." Rose said.
"And lower the thin radiation shield. Maybe a bit of heat shield too." Damien said.
"Alright." Jason said.

Damien just grinned, and gave you a wave. "Good luck. Come on, everyone."

Some time later, there was a great stone block there, behind a glass shield.
"We're ready." Jason said. "Please proceed."

You focus on the block, glasses on the bridge of your nose, and take a deep breath...

And in front of you, the stone started vibrating, cracks growing along the edges, static electricity and heat blooming off of it. The entire stone... disintegrated in front of you, crumbling into static electricity and dust.

You open your eyes again.
"... I expected a little more, to be honest." Damien said.
"Interesting. You increased heat and radiation by quite a bit." Jason said, from the terminal. "Nowhere near as much as true matter to energy conversion should be, but with, say, photo or pyrokinesis, you could gain energy by doing this."

You take a deep breath, and reach out to the stone... And focus, once more.
The concrete shook, and then exploded.
It burst into sparks and flame, burning along the ground and dancing along the walls. The entire sheet of radiation shield shook, bulging out of place toward you, and dents appeared all along the walls, floor, and ceiling of the chamber. You felt drained, your limbs growing weak.
"Holy shit!" Jason said, suddenly. "Kinetic blast, heat spike, radiation spike. Hurry up with the flushing, and work on repairs." He told the technicians. "Heather, it looks like you converted the matter into energy, based on our sensors. Heat, radioactivity, and what I guess might be kinetic, is most of it." He said. "I guess you can try again, but we should probably wait for repairs. Another blast like that might actually break the radiation shield instead of just denting it."
>>

While sipping at a nutrient shake and eating a sugar-filled biscuit, you sat there, relaxing.
"Wait, can I try something else? Can you give me an active source of energy and I try to convert it to a different type?"
"Well, I think Neva has some candles or something." Jason said. "Let me go run and get those."
He waved, and jogged off, and you sat back, relaxing some more.
"It feels like I haven't even scratched the surface on conversion."
"You haven't, really." Damien said. "I've been trying not to mention it, but..."
He shrugged. "There's a lot of things you can do with it."
"Why do you not tell people things like that?" Robin asked.
"Because it messes with the scheme of things." Damien said.
"What do you mean?"
"Well... If I tell someone that something's going to happen, then they'll expect it. They'll expect it and the longer things go before it happens, the more different they'll act. And the more that something will be different. There's a term for it, in some book, I think, but I don't remember what it was."
"Like the butterfly effect?" Ellie asked.
"I guess. Something like that." Damien responded.
>>
>>25222960
Why turn energy into mass? Let's see if we can convert heat into light or electricity

Remember we can reverse entropy
>>
>>25223022
Yeah. We spent ages training for invisibility and then she comes along the next day and gets it right on her first try.
There's no point in trying to compete with a clone in their own speciality, anything new we do with it she'll have done first and better. Working on discovering our own things is way more fun.

>>
"Wow, that's pretty complex. I'm glad my clairvoyance has been limited to just 'here's what's going to kill you'."
"There's also the fact that, well, I can see pretty far off, sometimes on accident." Damien said. "So I have to remember all these different things that happen, and I have no idea if they'll still happen after I change something. At least whenever you change *everything*, like when you figured out technopathy, I know that everything I've seen was invalid."

He sighed, after that rant, then shrugged. "I've been able to see how things change after I change something, though. Once."
"As always, I trust your judgement in timey wimey matters." You say.
"I know." He said, and sighed. "I just wish my future self was here to give me advice on timey wimey matters."

Jason came back, with Jabberwocky following him.
"Got it! And a friend." Jason said. He was lugging a large box in his arms, complete with candles. "Guys, this is Jabberwocky. He's with blackreach, and he's here to protect us while the rest of his guys take down Armatek."
"I've met some of you before." Jabberwocky said, and nodded. You had a feeling he was grinning behind his mask.
"Also, I have the candles." Jason said. "You ready?"
>>
Let's have a science moment about what "converting energy" means.

Now, there are four types of energy:
Gravitational
Electromagnetic
Weak nuclear
Strong nuclear

What I want to try is switching between these. Like turning a candle (electromagnetic) into a source of gravity.

<I don't know.> She said. <I don't know him well enough to have his Where very well defined.> She said.

"Damien, tell me." You say. "How do you deal with it when you see something terrible?"
"... Well, I... try to prevent it." He said, and didn't meet your eyes. "I don't like thinking about those things."

You shrug, and get to your feet. "Fuck yeah, let's do it."
"Alright!" Jason said, and pulled open the box.
"Are there any scented candles in there?"
"No clue." He said, pulling out a few white and red candles. "Don't tell Neva I broke into her office for this."

Energy, heat and light danced along the top of the flammable matter. You could... Feel it. You could...sense it.

So you reached out to one, and changed it. There was a high-pitched beeep, and a chirp, as the candle started giving you static noise. You opened your eyes, and saw that the flame was... gone.
But the wick was still slowly turning into ash.

"Now, that is cool."

Then you light it again, and it was a true, flaming candle again. Your arms were weak, but you were sitting down and resting, so you weren't too tired.

Then, you get an idea. If you could convert gravity into sound...
"No." Damien said. "Definitely not. Do not do that. That is a bad thing." He said. "At least not when we're here."
"What's going to happen?"
"Knock the station out of orbit by converting all the gravitational energy of the sun into sound. Then the sun, no longer contained by its own gravity, explodes, kills all of us before we get out of range." Damien said. "And the drain kills her before the rest of us."

And you, yourself, focused on his words, and closed your eyes...

Wait

What if we altered the properties of the phaeron gas used in the gae bulg so that it released it's energy as gravitational energy instead of heat. Or maybe kinetic energy.

Gravitational would create a black hole beam, kinetic would basically just shake things apart at a subatomic level.
>>

:( 5 seconds to late
>>
>>25223935
That is awesome and slightly frightening. On the other hand, it'd be a one-user-weapon.
>>
>>25223935
It usually kills things dead enough without us expending energy using powers on it.
>>
>>25223957
well, it couldnt get used against us
>>
>>25223935
It was good up until you started talking about altering the gas.
>>
You take a deep breath...
And then you tried to focus..
And the glasses slid down your nose again at the wrong moment. You got dizzy, and sparks of light shot from the floor, your focus scattered, as you turned flakes of the floor around you into light. You got dizzy, and energy drained badly from your limbs. They started to ache, badly. Damien held you up, and kept you from falling. "You okay there?"
"She looks fine to me." Jason said. "Do you want a bit more of a break?"

Robin and Ellie were still playing with Rose, not far from you, as the younger clone tried squirming out of her captor's grips.
>>
>>25223973
I have no idea how something releasing kinetic energy as radiation would work because that is something that literally cannot happen. Same with gravitational energy.

So, it's pseudoscience. Working with what I assume would happen, rather than thinking too hard about what would happen.
>>
>>25224008
"I'll be fine. Somebody get a floodlight and point it at me."

Eat photons for energy.
>>
>>25224008
"Yeah, turn up the lights a bit and I'll reclaim some energy."
>>
>>25224008
'port Rose to freedom, so we can play/pass out with on her.
>>
>>25224008
"Gimme a biscuit and a shake. I feel drained a bit but I'm okay."
>>
>>25224008

"gotta rest, my arms and legs feel like spaghetti."

gotta catch us some rays. preferably sunlight but anything else is fine as long as we stop the pain.
>>
>>25224008
"Stupid glasses. Give me some more biscuits and a lamp, I'll take a break. Maybe you could do some work with Rose?"
>>
>>25224008
"I'm out, too much for now."
"I'll play with the bouncy ball and see if that gets me anywhere."

We can bounce it, and convert all the energy into light, and then it's also an impromptu flashbang! If we get it working.
>>
>>25224064
>impromptu flashbang
could we turn a persons natural heat energy into light/gravitational/kinetic energy?
>>
"Stupid glasses." You say. "Give me some more biscuits and a shake. I feel a bit drained, and my arms and legs feel like spaghetti."
You relax, and slowly soak in the light from above, breathing it in, and relax.
"Maybe you could do some work with Rose?"
"Neva's writing up her practice plans right now. Collabing with Manus and Keen." Jason said. "Really, Keen should get the pay we do. He puts in as much work as we do. The only reason he doesn't is that the tests say that he doesn't have a high enough IQ. Which is bullshit."
>>
>>25224122
"That is bullshit! Who do I have to pester to get him promoted? I'll go do it right now."
Nobody can resist the pout.
>>
>>25224122
well then we need to get summer and I to manifest him a large mountain of money in compensation.
>>
>>25224122
"Wow, that's shit. Can I send a percentage of my weekly to him? It's not like I need the money after the salvage op we ran. He even got me a fancy wrench!"
>>
>>25224122
"Is there a way to put in a review and tell people how much he's helped us?"
>>
>>25224122
"Who do I have to pout at to get him justice?"
>>
>>25224122
We should really get into the production of Antimatter.

That's a profitable business.
>>
>>25224122
What if
What if we Awakened him
And he got more cleverer
>>
>>25224122

"I agree. He's also a very nice person."
>>
>>25224122
"Would straight up manifesting money be considered counterfeit?"
>>
>>25224205
Of course it would.
>>
>>25224205
>Definitely.
>For the few worlds that still use physical money, that is.

"That is bullshit! Who do I have to pester to get him promoted? I'll go do it right now."
"... Uh, the entire meet." He said. "All three head councils of the UPA. They decided that only the smartest should research this kind of thing."
He sighed.
"Is there a way to put in a review and tell people how much he's helped us?" You asked, and Jason paused for a moment. Then nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, I could make sure the right people see it. Just send it to me when you're ready."
>>
>>25224226
>Implying they can stop us
>>
>>25224238
Alright. What's the fanciest review we can give him?

We've got to mention his work on Elysium, and the help he gave with working around conceptual pillars.
>>
>>25224238
"I'll make sure to mention the bit where he stayed onboard, during an assualt, and almost died to due plasma."
>>
>>25224238
Don't we know one of the councillors personally? The Nagala?
>>
>>25224241
They probably can. It would be a lot easier to technopathy some money into a bank account.
>>
>>25224266
Yeah, but one of the other ones is in Armatek's pocket. Not sure it's the human or the centaur though.
>>
"I'll make sure to mention the bit where he stayed onboard, during an assault, and almost died due to plasma." You say. "And the work on Elysium, and the help he gave with working around conceptual pillars."
You sigh, and start to think, tapping your chin.
Damien pulled out his personacom, and started to type. "I'll send one too."
"What are we doing now?" Ellie asked, trying to carry both Rose and Robin climbing on her shoulders.
"Writing reviews for Keen." Damien said.
"Sadly, I don't believe mine would count." Devourer said. "I could threaten to eat them if they didn't, however."
>>
>>25224348

"threatening people in situations like this won't help much but your I appreciate the gesture."
>>
>>25224348
"lets save that for if they decline after we get everyone elses reviews"
>>
>>25224348
"That probably wouldn't help."
"Keen's not getting paid as much as the other scientists here, despite that he's been so much help to everyone."
"Maybe Sigma could add something... Do you know who else Keen has worked with?"
>>
>>25224348
"Do you want a drone actually? Surely there's something on the extranet that interests you, right? You could probably work for Omni, too! You could be OmniCorp primary transgeneticist."
>>
>>25224348
Probably not the wisest course of action. We'll save that sorta thing for people who deserve it. Like Armatek.
>>
>>25224377

>but I appreciate
>>
>>25224348
"Threatening the councillors probably isn't a good idea. Although it would be kind of funny to watch some secret service guys try to arrest you."
>>
>>25224348
"Oh, you."
>>
"Threatening people in situations like this won't help much, but I appreciate the gesture." You say, and Devourer giggled.

You turn to Ellie. "Keen's not getting paid as much as the other scientists here, despite that he's been so much help to everyone. Maybe Sigma could add something..."
"Good idea." Damien said, and sent her a message.

"Also, why do you look like Heather if she was pushed into a cyborg making machine?" Ellie asked.
"This is a theoretical mix of Heather and Omnissiah." Devourer responded.
"Oooh. Could you be... Me and Heather? A mix?"
"Certainly." Devourer said, and twisted. A moment later, he was a much shorter, younger version of you, but with Ellie's green eyes, and bright pink hair, pulled up into pigtails.
"So cute!" Ellie said. "But why is your hair pink, and not blonde like mine?"
"Because your hair is genetically pink. I assume it's a recent transgene." Devourer responded.
"... What."
>>
>>25224467
"Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you I had Theta make pink your natural color."
>>
>>25224467
"Yeah, Theta did that."
>>
>>25224467
"Aww, we were hoping you wouldn't notice until later. Theta made pink your natural color."
>>
>>25224467
"Eheheh. Theta did it. It was meant to be a surprise when it grew back pink again."
>>
>>25224467
Spoilsport!~
>>
>>25224467
1 Try not to laugh
2 Laugh a lot
"Well you remember how you turned blonde for a while and then your hair was turned pink? That wasn't a dye you know."
>>
>>25224467
surprise
>>
"Spoilsport!~" You say. "Theta did it. It was meant to be a surprise when it grew back pink again."
Ellie paused.
"I'mma go thank him!" She said, and giggled, running from the room.
You and Devourer met eyes and she shrugged.
Damien just started laughing, and Jabberwocky was looking over the technician's terminals, leaning over it.
"I like her." Rose whispered to Robin, trying not to let anyone else hear.
Robin whispered something back, more quietly, and Rose nodded.
>>
>>25224564
What's the station time? Let's go find Summer and ask her if she'll write about Keen too.
>>
>>25224564
Use technopathy to ask the terminal what that sneaky mask fucker is looking at.
>>
>>25224564
Speaking of Jabberwocky, we need to call him out on being Damien, when we're alone. If we're right, he spills the beans, and if we're wrong, we can dismiss it as us being nutty.

But I am like, 78% sure that he is Future!Damien.
>>
>>25224605
We could ask Devourer for a remote genetic test?
>>
>>25224564

tempted to ask Robin and Rose what that was about but I'm not sure.

"Anything interesting in there jabberwocky?"

he'll probably figure out were spying on him if we look inside the terminal.
>>
>>25224564
Retrocog what Robin said!
>>
>>25224605
That is a lot of sure. I'm more like 17% sure. It seems possible but not likely.
>>
>>25224631
Retrocog lets us know what we've known, not things we never knew.
>>
>>25224643
He could just be using CV to make it look like he is.
I'm still betting on him being future Lin.
>>
>>25224653
So, that time when we found Alex and Anna had gone to Delta's world, we knew that all along?
>>
>>25224653
not true. we've seen other events as well.
>>
>>25224624
If he was coming back in time and didn't want anybody to recognise him, he would have changed his genetics enough that it wouldn't reveal him.

Hell, he might have even got Future!Theta or Future!Devourer to do it for him, as an extra measure.
>>
"Anything interesting in there, Jabberwocky?" You ask.
"Not particularly." He said, almost whined. "Just data about Ellie and yourself. Boring."

The technician at the terminal blinked, as the screen started running, evaluating a timescale of various calculations- a rough idea of how powerful everyone was slowly getting.
"How did you do that?" He asked.
"Do what?" Jabberwocky said, and pressed another button, as the screen returned to normal. Then he gave the technician the smuggest grin the mask could make. Which was pretty damn smug.

You check Einstein- it wasn't too late right now. Almost lunch, in truth.

Then you reach toward Robin and Rose with your mind, and focus on the past...
>"Ellie? Or Heather?" Robin asked, more quietly, and Rose nodded.
>>
>>25224564
Man, Rose is adorable.
>>
>>25224725
Just give Rose a big ass smile.

"So, more training, or lunch?"
>>
>>25224725
I suppose it's worth checking out that timescale.
>>
>>25224725

we're popular and Rose is adorable.

"If no one else has anything to practice here, I say we head out and get some lunch."
>>
>>25224754
yea, lets do that
>>
>>25224725
"Jabberwocky, I see what you did thar."
>>
>>25224725
"So, feeling better now that you've gotten to spend time with Robin and explodered the station?"
>>
New theory: VQ persuaded Jabberwocky about Alex being a monster so he's here to assassinate him. Think about it, VQ was so clueless about technology that it was a massive conceptual barrier and she couldn't use any powers anywhere near it. And yet she somehow managed to code an incredibly advanced technopathy virus (and send it anonymously from Earth)? This dude's actually got the lolhaxor skillset to pull something like that off.
>>
>>25224818
whats the bet Jabberwocky is Dave
>>
>>25224830
Saint Dave himself?
.......Heather would need a change of underwear, if that was the case
>>
>>25224725
<Hey Devourer, does Jabberwocky remind you of anyone?>
>>
we really should have a talk with Jabberwocky soon
>>
"So, feeling better now that you've gotten to spend time with Robin and explored the station?" You ask.
"Yeah." Rose said. "A little."

<Hey Devourer, does Jabberwocky remind you of anyone?>
<No, he doesn't.> Devourer responded. <I... believe I recognize him from somewhere, visually... but I have never sensed anything with his genetics before. His mind tastes... strange. Old.>

You take a look at the timescale, but the function wasn't quite there. You had to focus on it, rather hard, and it popped up with data.
The way things looked, you started out getting much, much stronger as time went on, then you slowly got weaker... and back stronger again, recently, but not as quickly as you had been.
Then you turn to Rose again. "So, more training, or lunch?"
"Lunch." She said.
"Yes!" Robin said. "You've been stuck with crappy clonefood. Now we can have the real stuff!"
Excitedly, Robin grabbed Rose, and both pamfed into smoke. A moment later, she pamfed back, grabbed you and Damien, and away again.

You were in the cafeteria, which had Theta, Sigma, Ellie, and Summer, the latter of which was eating voraciously.
>>

>>
"Hey, Summer, how did you earn that hunger? Must have been summoning dragons or something."
"I've been getting better at making weird things." Summer said. "Delta's helping me. He's really nice."

Theta, Sigma, and Robin paused, and stopped talking.
"... What?" Sigma asked.
"... Delta's helping me?" Summer asked. "Explaining things that I don't get. Mostly about bubble drives."

Robin and Rose started whispering, as Robin explained who Delta was.
>>
>>25224880

>>
"... What?" You ask.
"Delta. You picked him up, remember?" Summer asked.

"Hmm... Did you impersonate him to prank her, Theta?"
"What? I don't know how a bubble drive works."
"It's simple." Damien and Sigma both said at once.
"Psh, no it isn't." Theta grumbled.

"... We... we're thinking of the same Delta, right? Wheelchair, hates everything that isn't building technology?"
"He has the wheelchair, but he doesn't hate things." Summer said.
"... Oh. Oh! I get it. He likes explaining technology as well as making it." You say.
"He started out all cold and mean and stuff, though, but he got better." She said. "We're trading stuff, mostly. He teaches me things, and I make things he has a problem with. Like, he had me make tons and tons of those rations, and he explained decabulators to me. Those things are really simple when you get the hang of them."

>>

>You asked that *same* thing in a previous post. I usually discount that because then you'd just be repeating the same thing over and over.

"They are." You say. "So you're bribing him with food?"
"Pretty much!" She said. "He also took like, an hour to explain electromagnets, and tried to get me to make antiparticles. I had trouble with it, but he's sure I can."

"I'm glad you're getting along with him so well." You say. "You think you might be able to get him to eventually eat with the rest of us?"
"Maybe.." She said.
"Food is complete." Sarvesh said. "And here's thirds, Summer."
"Awesome." She said, and started to eat.
Sarvesh set down a plate of macaroni in front of you, and one in front of Rose. When she took a bite...

She started to glow again, shooting him a small smile.
