The beast screeches, flares its colorful crown, and falls head first into the marsh. You watch the corpse become slowly swallowed by the ground.

As you prepare to reel it in, the corpse suddenly disappears into the ground and you feel your line snap taut. Something pulls you violently forward, and were it not for your two companions gripping your shoulders in panic, you would have fallen over head first.

Even with the three of you, it's difficult to resist the pull of whatever it was which ate your prize.

Your own shots smash into the creature's thick blue hide but fail to penetrate. The impacts pock its outer hide-bound shell with black scorchmarks but it only seems to anger it. It's only when Burning-Scythe landed a shot with his over-charged plasma pistol that the beast roared in pain.

It slams its tentacle down and throws you forcefully onto the bridge. You feel a sharp pain as air is knoecked out of your lungs. Sharp-Strike rushes over and swings his combi-stick at the tentacle, slicing it in half.

You struggle to your feet.

Two more tentacles rise from the marsh and wrap themselves around the bridge you stand on. The beast is pulling itself closer!

It raises three of its tentacles and attempt to dislodge you. Burning-Scythe, however, manages to keep them at bay with accurate shots from his plsama pistol.

With no room to dodge the blows, you grit your jaws and do your best to hold on to your combi-stick. You feel a sudden sharp pain as the spear gun connects with the back of your head. You are on the verge of blacking out.

You hear a sudden roar and Burning-Scythe leaps to your rescue. He extends his wrist claw and uses it to latch onto the beast. With his other hand, he sets the plasma pistol to full auto and fire blindly at the tentacle, keeping it away.

You're quickly losing consciousness, and your only goal is to hold on for dear life. You see Sharp-Strike's vague figure climbing over to you.

You glance behind you to see the tentacle swing at you one last time. Suddenly, you catch a silver glint sail through the air as Sharp-Strike throws his combi-stick with deadly accuracy.

The tip sails through the thick appendage and becomes lodged hard. The beast buckles suddenly in pain, and Sharp-Strike, without his combi-stick to grip, is thrown hard onto the bridge.

The young blood rises to his feet and begins to sprint to your ship. You know him to be a fast runner, and you estimate it'll take him about ten minutes to reach your ship.

You look up and leap with all your might. You grip Sharp-Strike's combi-stick dangling from the limp tentacle and hold on with all your might. You feel the appendage tighten, and smash downward.

You use your body's mass to guide its momentum and direct the tip of the spear at the creature's own body. You ride downward with the swing and drive the spear downwards. Your weight, added with the tentacle's swing, drive Sharp-Strike's combi-stick deep into the beast, effectively nailing the thick appendage to its body.

The beast roars in pain and shakes violently. A second tentacle smashes towards you, but Burning-Scythe hits it with a plsama shot, forcing it away.
