Yeah, I think we should try something different. I suggested bird-men since it was such a drastic departure.

Maybe forest-dwelling antelopes? Nature-attuned, but not elfey. More primal, more focused on the predator/prey aspect.

Also, I liked the random roll to determine that you had in the Primary Hive Cluster quest, as opposed to consensus for the start of quest.

We, the Council of Satyrs, rule over few of our own kind - but many thousands of naive goblin whelps.

Their numbers are sustained (barely, and many of their young perish in the harsh conditions), by farming of potatoes in the lower plains.

The hundred or so not involved in farming mine salt in the Eastern mountain for the noble population of Satyr-kind.

In the south, a patch of ashes indicates a point where our dark magic has broken through the barrier between our world and the next, through which great daemons are able to pass when the time is right.

Our slaves await your command.

We send parties of goblins out to the East. Surprisingly, more than half return alive. The rest probably fell victim to the cold, or hunger.

They discovered a mighty jungle to the East, brimming with wood and beast.

Additionally, a there exist a few spires of earth penetrating the canopy - mountains.

To the North of this jungle, a small tribe of humans sits peacefully, seemingly unaware of our scouting.

Our goblin-food stockpile has run empty. Many will starve, but the population will shortly stabilise again.

Our expansion to the East is uncontested thusfar, and as such has gone as expected. By next round we shall have secured a place to construct our true capital.

Our borders expand to meet the Jungle-river in the East, where a camp is set up and supplies are gathered. Next turn we shall have a small, but luxurious, dwelling, where many-a-summer may be spent on decadent affairs such as hunting, and goblin-throwing.

In the West, the Kobold scouting party disappears into the ether before the Goblins can be outfitted for war. This 'outfitting' consisted of appointing one of them to be the leader, and giving them some pointed sticks.

The goblin population has decreased quite dramatically as a result, but they have now learned which end of the stick should face away as they jab. On the bright side, we are producing a food surplus.

In the North-East, human archers are observed on our borders. A hunting party, perhaps? Or something altogether more sinister...

From their vantage point on the hills, our finest (and most valuable) hunters have surveyed the enemy lands, and are confident of their victory until the Humans retreat from their spot, concealing their position. Did they spot us? IMPOSSIBLE, we are the finest hunters to walk the Earth. Or perhaps...

In other matters, regular hunting now occurs in the East, supplying our capital with a plentiful food supply and source of entertainment.

However, much salt is spoiled on the long journey to the Capital - this is not a good thing, our aristocracy require this luxury most urgently, and barely a quarter of the stock sent there actually arrives!

Our group of hunters display their wares proudly to the Humans when they are first approached, intrigued, the humans readily invite them into their village to trade goods.

Our fine hunters then employ a very aggressive marketing tactic known as 'fill the heretics with arrows, then sacrifice them and take their shit'. We have looted 2 units of fish, and taken a small number of human slaves.

Meanwhile, construction of the road is well underway. A clerical error resulted in the goblins not using their bones to pave the road, but their skin - as a result, the road surface is sub-par at best, though goblin mortality rates are surprisingly low (that is to say, very high) for the project as a whole.

These deeds seem to have most pleased the dark ones, and they have sent a unit of Demonic swordsmen to aid our fine work. The pre-existing unit of speargoblins proved a fine vessel for the Demons to appear through.

Our initial settlement has been successfully convert into an enormous Goblin housing scheme. Breeding rates have increased enormously, which is lucky given how little skin there is on a goblin, and how much is required to construct a long road.

The rroute linking our unnamed capital and the goblin slums is now complete, allowing salt and other important supplies to flow easily between the two.

The recent influx of slaves were put to work immediately ploughing and planting for out new farmland, which has sprung up nicely across a wide area of our lands. Despite the hostility of the soil, we are producing a food surplus.

In the North-East, our border patrols have spotted a large tribal force quickly approaching our borders. They appear to be affiliated with the recently conquered tribe... Our forces await your command.
