Finally figured out how I want to do this.

Unlocked specializations are in Black.

I'll make a separate tree for the crow.

Specializations first require the prerequisite skill to be trained. Petre's current limit for any given skill is 3.

Already unlocked specializations may be trained further for additional abilities/passives/ etc.

I'm going to see about giving each specialization its own tree.

As a note. Specializations will actually be learned based on two conditions: The prerequisite skill is learned, and a meditation period into a spec is successful.

It'll be based on a roll over a 5 hour period.

The roll will be based on the total necessary prerequisites.

So: Possession's total req is 6 1d6 target roll is 6.

6 is success.
4-5 reduces max roll by 1 for next attempt.
2-3 is no change.
1 increases max roll by 1 for next attempt.

If anyone's got a better system, tell me.

There will be bonuses if he trains with someone knowledgeable in the relevant spec.

the bonus is an additional roll for the time period with whatever time reduction or increase the previous one incurs.

Also, for combat I'll be going back to roll-less unless I'm not sure as to the character's ability.

With the light of day, and thirst/hunger at hand, the three of you begin to sift through the rubble and check around the room. Most of the building has collapsed however, it's a miracle that this room is even still standing. You find remnants of concrete among the debris and determine that these apartments must have had concrete in the walls, making them a bit more resilient.

With your increased strength, you lead in a lot of the lifting, though even your strength has limits and you're glad to have Pali help you out, and even Alexis, though she bitched about it at first.

After clearing out to the kitchen, you find some of the water pipes still spewing out water into the rubble underneath, and a fridge crushed, along with cupboards, that have still-good food within at the least.

Luckily, in your search, Pali determines that there's gas in the room and the three of you agree to be wary of any kind of sparks.

Eating what food you three could scrounge from the wreck, in the bedroom, taking some time to talk, as the three of you are no longer busy. It's still early in the morning considering the time spent.

It dawns on you, Pali is right... this attack... an hour before it began, the city was fine. Now? It's in ruins and the noises suggest that they are not yet done.

You had in mind to go southwest to the harbor and take a boat... it's only around ten miles away... though with the streets the way they are, most of that's going to be walking...

"Well, what do you suggest?"

Pali shrugs," What I have, we fight, and we kill that man, Susej. He killed father, so he must die."

Alexis glances at the two of you as though she wants to say something, and so you put her on the spot," And what of you Alexis, what do you think we should do?"

Her expression contorts with a bit of worry, and she shakes her head," I... I don't know... I think we should try to go to the hospital... it's where most people would be going if they were hurt or needed supplies with this.. mess... Though, we could also probably pick up my car.. and a few of my things from the university... It'd be nice to know if my friends there are okay... or... if..."

The time is around 10 when the three of you set out... heading Northeast through the streets at Alexis's direction... She ended up getting a pair of shorts that almost don't fit and a tank-top.

After a time, however you note that the compass has moved strangely for more than a few blocks since you started... Standing still, and eyeing it with the others, you see that the thing has begun to spin in circles. You and Pali frown.

Your body is fast, quick. You're surprised. You feel another jolt run through your mantle,and then a chill through your body. You hear a man scream in agony, and glance back to find that he's clutching his face, and Alexis running after you, though falling behind... Her Red Snowflakes glowing from recent use of her power.

She must have used her power to burn the man's eyes...

You are pulling far ahead of Alexis.. and the white star can't follow. However you see the cyan-hair drawing distance...

You slow down a bit from your enhanced speed to allow Alexis to catch up, but only enough for that. You can't risk stopping when there are threats behind you..

She begins to come upon you when you sense a disturbance, however it's too late, your foot catches something and you see a flash of green before you fall to the ground in your run.

You glance behind you and see that the thing you tripped over was some sort of green rope, extending from a patch of nearby grass.

You notice that in your run, you've come to something of a courtyard... There are large buildings and it looks almost like.... A school?

The realization hits you as you see that there are other men watching from the grounds... you're at the University...

Alexis catches up in time, and the man's eyes flash green again and she falls as well, thick blades of grass entangling her.

The man wipes a touch of sweat from his brow.

"You will be coming with me..."

You try to get up, however the same foliage entangles your hands and begins to wrap around your arms...

You feel the vines begin to come lose and look back at Alexis to see that she's staring the man down, breathing heavily and sweat running down her forehead.

Pali, unrestrained, takes the chance to tackle the man to the ground, forcing him down and the men standing watch by the buildings begin to head over with some speed... there's still some distance.. but you're thinking that you might be able to do this...

You pull at your bindings and rip the blades of grass that bind you out of the soil, you see that long roots had anchored them.

Pali begins to go to town on the guy, hitting him over and over again...

You feel a gust of warm wind slip past you as Alexis stops using her power.

She smiles a little, though her eyes flick over to the two men that are running from the University...

With the two men, approaching you call to Pali,"Get off of him!"

Pali pauses and looks at you, confused. You grab him by the shoulder and pull him off the man, only to grab Green-eyes by the neck and bring him up to standing, restrict his arms behind his back with your father's knife to his throat.

You yell at the approaching men, "Keep your distance or he's dead!"

They stop in their tracks about 15 meters from you, their marks are violet bracelets upon the right and the maw of a beast upon the other's throat. Both glow brightly.

"Help Alexis up." You say to Pali on the side, staring at the two men, as they stare back in the middle of the College grounds... if what was said before is true, there are more inside...

Pali kneels down by Alexis, you see a flash of her red, and the plants wither... It seems she's gotten a bit adept at using her power...

One of the men yell at you," If you kill him, you are already dead." That's the bracelet one.

The other seems to brush off your threat," He hasn't got what it takes. The newly awakened never do."

"Wrong. I've killed four of you already to protect my family. You would make it seven. Do not test me."

The men begin to walk around you, keeping distance, though they seem to be trying to divide your attention. The life of a comrade might not mean all that much to them..

"I said don't move!" You press the knife into the man's throat, beads of blood drawn out from his flesh.

Green Eyes spits," Please.. Please don't kill me... I... I don't want to d-die..."

The men make their move and you slide the blade through the man's throat.

Pali grabs Alexis by her hand and begin to flee, though you can see that the two men before you are fast.. faster than they should be...

You advance to meet them, yet slip through violet-wrist's guard as you try to take his side.

The man twists around mid- lunge to kick you in the head, however the Crow's arms block the attack before it connects, cutting it short.

You see that Animal-Maw is intent on hunting down the other two and you realize that you need to deal with this man quickly.

The Crow pulls his leg for you and you stab into his hamstring with father's dagger. You expect it to sink in, however it glances off of his skin, much to your surprise, and horror.

His other leg comes up as he plants his hands down to twist out of the Crow's grasp, forcing you to block with your own arms as he delivers a front kick that drives you back even as you dig your heels into the grass.

Violet-Wrist smiles a bit as he approaches you for a second "round."

"Well, look at that, I haven't seen something like that before... A barrier? Interesting..."

You realize that he didn't "see" the arms... This time, you rush into him. keeping your eyes open and catching one of his fists mid-swing with one of the Crow's hands. You're stunned for a moment that you caught the fist, you barely saw it..

A second strike comes around and you catch it in your clothed right hand, the burn you took earlier hurts, but you bear with the pain.

The main lifts a foot for another strike and this time you catch it with one of the crow's arms, locking up another limb as you slide the dagger through the crow's hand and into the "exposed" flesh of this man.

You see his face twist into pain as he realizes that the dagger went through and you keep hold of his arms even as he attempts to draw away.

Twisting the dagger, you tear it out as crudely as possible right before he sends a kick with the other, and then you drop him and run. To the other man, Beast-Maw, as he pursues Alexis and Pali, gaining on them with incredible speed. He's faster than you, too fast.

You don't think that you'll catch up to him before you van reach him... What will you do?

With a growing distance between you and Beast-maw and the closing distance between you and he, you lurch forward in desperation and use the crow's arms to propel you forward in large loping strides, increasing your speed, yet even then, it's not enough.

You hear Violet-wrist call out from behind you, "Rafat, he's behind you, get him!"

Beast-maw glances back at you in your advancement and he drops to all fours, moving more like some kind of cat than an actual human as he turns to you, and pounces, his body changing into that of a were-cat, or better yet a were-jaguar.

You raise the crow's arms to take a bite dished out with fangs and you call to Alexis,"Burn him! Burn him Alexis!"

"I can't, It's starting to hurt!"

The Jaguar-man smiles at you with predatory, no, almost wicked intent.

His claw swipes at your face and just barely block it with your own arm, the claws running in deep, you feel them cleave into bone.

You unleash a scream from the sheer pain.

This man is strong.. fast and strong.. and this form gives him natural weapons...

What will you do?

You grip the Jaguar man by his head with the other Crow arm, even as his teeth sink into the one he's already bitten.

You pull him in and stab into his gut, only to see that once more the dagger glances against flesh... this is... unsettling.

You hear the jaguar chuckle and this time, the Crow takes initiative.

The arms violently twist the Jaguar-man's head, causing the wrest go his body to go limp.

Ensuring that he will be no more, you slip your blade through the crow's arms and into the Jaguar-man's mouth. Stabbing upward.

Tearing out the bloody blade, you cast the corpse to the side.

Alexis and Pali stare at you from where they were and Pali begins to yell as you hear a wordless one at your back.

You spin around upon your heel in the freshly bloodied grass and grab the other man with the Crow's arms, Placing one upon his throat, you slide it up his neck and into his mouth, putting him to the ground to choke on his own blood.

No, you bend down and pull his head back, slicing across his throat as well, ensuring that he wouldn't be able to heal even if he could.

No blood leaks out from your arm, you figure the Crow must be holding the blood in for you so you don't bleed out. . .

However, this little skirmish seems to have drawn unwanted attention.

You see several men leave the building through the front entrance...

You shake your head at what lies before you.. No.. you can't do this... You need to save these two first.. Alexis is weak, and you need to protect your brother.

You turn to them," Move, we are running, we need to go."

Alexis looks at you in a daze, sweat dripping down her brow as though she's taken to fever. She doesn't seem to hear you.

Pali puts a hand on her shoulder,"Alexis, we need to go... Come on..." He begins to lend her his shoulder as she feels around, seemingly lost in a haze.

"We have'nt got time for this."

You grab the woman and hoist her over your shoulder. Pali's about to say something, however he keeps silent.

The two of you begin to run... Not taking the way that you came. The crow instructs you otherwise, there are enemies there.

THe two of you run throught streets and rubble, past the corpses of men and woman, avoiding other enemies whenever the crow senses them from the "Other World."

You begin to feel worse as all of that combat must've corrupted your spirit. However, you keep running, as does Pali.You can't tell for exactly how long the two of you kept at it, or where the crow was leading you...

And then it happen... You feel a power suddenly rip through your mantle, iron bars snake their way around you and another set prop you up. This happens for Pali as well, however he goes down fully.

You struggle fuitley against the bars with Alexis still over your shoulder, lost in her haze.

And then you finally see what's before you.

Military vehicles, a barricade, a line. You see corpses near you... this is a killzone.

You're staring down the barrels of several men that have rifles trained upon you, one leaps over the metal wall and walks towards you and your brother.

As he nears, you see that there's a distinct dark-silver glow to his eyes that veins down the side of his face, shining through a pair of aviator sunglasses.

Stopping some distance from you, the soldier rests his rifle at ease and he speaks, loud and with authority... a certain southern, almost creole accent to his speech.

"I am Staff Sergeant, Jacques Moreau. Are you an enemy, or a victim?"

You never once before in your life trusted the government as your father has always distrusted them... but now...

"Please... Please help us...."

Staff Sergeant Moreau puts a hand to his helmet,"These are not hostiles, I repeat, these are not hostiles."

Bringing his hand down, he takes a look at your arm, the dirt that you and your brother share, and then Alexis,"Seems you've had it rough.. Lets get you all cleaned up."

The bars locking you in place snap open and fall back into the rubble, lying in wait.

Well, she was "normal" less than 24 hours ago.

Petr'e well adjusted due to the fact that he's a gypsy and has at least been through some crazy shit in his life. No terrorist holdout situations, of course, but his superstition has also come through in accepting a lot of the crazy shit with the crow.

The Staff Sergeant guides you and your brother past the established barricade and takes the three of you to a tent with what look like other injured refugees, there are at least thirty other people within this tent, and you see that at least five of them have some sort of mark...

With the obvious marks of Sergeant Moreau, you could guess that they know what they mean.

Once in the tent, you lay the feverish Alexis down upon a free cot. Soon, a man walks up to you, with a gentle, though hardened smile, "I am Dr.Willow, I've been helping these.. people here after rescuing them from the terrorists, if you would let me address your wounds..."

You eye the man warily... you are tired, tired and you know what you are.

As a Romani, it would not be right to have a doctor outside of the tribe dress your wounds... will you allow the man?

Staff Sergeant Moreau stands by you and your brother... This med-tent seems to be fairly successful, though most of the injured resting seem to be distraught over the whole predicamend much like you and Pali. They all must've lost people as well.

The doctor looks at you expectantly, it seems that he would like you to sit down on one of the bedsides.
