You are Maro of Jin, confirmed by Lao Len's thugs as "Maro of the Lightning".

It has been an hour since you fought three of Lao Lens bender thugs on the streets of Shen Jiao. It has been an hour since you met a woman wielding a guan dao named Ming Puar.

It has been 10 minutes since Ming Puar finished a meal you payed for and accepted a contract as your guard (for the time being).

Your trio consisting of yourself, Flame-Lily and Ming Puar now must continue your original shopping trip to attain another disguise or two, and develop a plan for your attack on Lao Len's complex.

Do you:

[ ] Find a smith for extra / different weapons

Some guy in the previous thread suggested armor, he attached a pic. I think it was great and support that idea. Unless it is going to take weeks to be made ofcourse.
But still, we need back up weapons. A simple sword would do and few throwing knives.

Find Tailor, get peasant clothes, get merchant clothes, get noble clothes.

Then hit blacksmith.

Get Armor (pic related, though with an emphasis on dragon designs and a face plate of some kind) get throwing knives. Get a girdle/belt for throwing knives. Get little straps inside shin guards and foreaarm guards to hold throwing knives.

Seconding tailor.

Great to see you again so swiftly, DB!
>>
"Flame-Lily, could you please take us to one of the nearest clothiers?" You turn and ask her

"Oh! I know the -best- one Master Maro!" Flame-Lily beams

Upon hearing this you wince slightly, but she's already dragging you and Ming off. The clothier has quite a wide range of things, all well made (with prices appropriate unfortunately). The tailor shows you a few of his ready made clothes a few things stick out in your eyes though: A Noblemans traveling garb - the type of thing you'd normally be wearing were it not for your disguise and a sturdy workmans garment - resistant to wear and tear and meant for heavy work a useful tool if you wish to disguise yourself as a craftsman, the tailor also suggests a new set of clothes for Ming Puar (who it seems is currently down to the clothes on her back).

You have 235 silver bu currently and though you can get more it might be best to avoid spending it too quickly.
[ ] Buy Noblemans Traveling clothes (10s)
[ ] Buy Workmans Clothing (3s)

You can select multiple options here.

Eh, all of the above.
Make it clear that Flame Lily needs to keep her mouth shut about A: lightning and B: us having money.

The Dress is a bribe you see.

[x] Buy Noblemans Traveling clothes (10s)
[x] Buy Workmans Clothing (3s)
[x] Ask for the Tailor to make a new set of clothes for Ming Puar (7s) - this will be a few different changes of clothing

On Ming Puar's clothes, emphasize freedom of movement to the tailor. We don't want her new duds slowing her down in combat.

I'm torn about Flame-Lily's new dress; do you think we're going to keep her, guys?
>>
>>25055610
Well, she's probably not going to want to stay at the house of white tiles if we burn it down... so maybe?
>>
>>25055610
Seconding.
15s is pretty expensive. Can't we get her some cheaper but still good clothes? I mean, nobleman's clothes cost only 10s

>>25055610
>>25055622

I hope not.
I don't really have anything against buying her shit but we might be spoiling her too much and I definitely do not want us keeping someone around who doesn't have any good skills we might need in our travels.
>>
>>25055622

If we think we're keeping Flame Lily, then let's get her a dress. If we're going to give her some cred and tea so she can start a new life in this town, maybe not so much.
>>
>>25055547
Could we get the tailor to make us some tricky ninja clothes if we decide to go blue spirit on Lao Len?
>>
>>25055660
15s may be 'expensive' but she's a high class lady... and a gift like that is meant to last years - not be everyday clothing.

>>25055721
Filter or fuck off, don't be a faggot.
>>
>>25055660
She's really good at tea, Maro's family does tea... maybe she's better at it than she knows? Hidden attributes amongst companions are possible.

>>25055667
You could, but it'd have to be another request and you'd have to haggle properly about it
>>
How about we just buy her some noble ladies clothing? Not necessarily the travelling kind.

Noble men's clothes do cost 10 Silver, so it makes sense that we'd be able to get something equally fine for the same price.
>>
>>25055667
No blue spirit clothes.

Blue Spirit ARMOR.
>>
>>25055788

I think Anon meant adventuring skills, since there's all our HIGH ADVENTURE going on. If that's the case, once we're done in this town, I'd reccommend she go to work for our family, not go about righting wrongs and all. Unless she starts showing proficiencies in being an adventurer.

>>25055804

This seems like a good compromise.
>>
>>25055788
>She's really good at tea, Maro's family does tea... maybe she's better at it than she knows? Hidden attributes amongst companions are possible.

Well.... We COULD keep her but not in the sense that we'll form an adventuring party. We could send her to our house with a letter from us and ask our family to use her skills and find her a decent work.
>>
>>25055804
She's not a noble lady though, so she wouldn't get any real use out of them. A proper dress has more fabric and dyes and the like, and it's something she'd actually wear.

>>25055820
You're going to need some form of clothing for the armor as well.
>>
>>25055825
>I think Anon meant adventuring skills, since there's all our HIGH ADVENTURE going on.

Yes, that's what I meant. I don't see how her tea skills will benefit us in our adventure.

>>25055835
Fuck it, just get her the stupid clothes but that doesn't mean we're keeping her around with us.
>>
>>25055835
Okay Lets buy the padding and black cloth and stuff for the armor too.
>>

You underestimate the usefulness of a cup of soothing jasmine.

So it seems like we're set on spending 35s, did you guys want to debate getting the tailor to make some ninja clothes? If so it'd be a 1d10 haggle (with modifiers)

We don't need ninja clothes

>You underestimate the usefulness of a cup of soothing jasmine.
The befits are far outweighed by the sheer danger we will be putting her in and having to risk our well-being by protecting her.

If we take down lao len's whole organization, by extension we're going to take down the guy who has BEATEN GIRLS TO DEATH OVER THEM SAYING SOMETHING WRONG. The house has girls shanghai'd into working there, chances all of them are going to leave and that we'll have a few with no place to go.
>>
Rolled 1

>>25055888
Just buy some ninja clothes already.
>>
>>25055985
Like I said. Send her to our family with a letter.

Or do you expect us to take care of ALL the girls from that organization? Having adventures while a dozen, beautiful, barely of age girls follow us?
Oh yeah, sure, the girl that happen to be lucky enough to entertain us will get pampered, get a new life, protection and etc while the background girls which we never met could just as we die.

I don't see why it is our problem. Heck, just kill the guy, put this girl in charge and let them establish a PROPER tea-house with no "happy endings"
>>
>>25056092
"HAppy Endings" were part of the draw and only extended to customers that the girls liked.

The issue here is the girls being bought and sold like cattle rather than being given a contract and so many years of work or so many units of currency that have to be acrrued before she is considered free again.

I do approve of the idea of helping one of the girls take over the entertainment house though.

Good call.

Talking to the tailor and his aides flame-lily quickly manages to snatch up the noblemans clothes and the workmans clothes that caught your eye.

You approve the dress for her, and giving Ming a quick look you ask her to speak to the tailor about some new clothes, he directs her and flame-lily to one of his aides to select cloth, get things fitted and work out specific needs in the clothing.

You are left alone with the tailor and he approaches you with a knowing smile "You're not a monk are you? don't answer that I don't want to know, it's safer for me not to. You've brought me quite a bit of business today, it's not often that I get to make a dress for one of the girls from the house of white tiles, the more beautiful girls go to other places, even though I have better quality cloth and some of the best sewers in the fire nation, I lack the history that makes others more popular.... You sir are a man of a different sort - if I had to place you I'd say you probably come from the island of Jin"

"I won't confirm that, as you said it's safer for you not to know... I have a request though, I need some clothes of a different sort - something that facilitates silent movement and hiding at night... and it should be able to accomodate some armor plates - we will be headed to a smith after"

"I could do that, and I can keep quiet about it too... I will get your measurements and work on it personally - I am very, very good and that's not bragging. Send one of the smiths aides to me and we will work something out. My name is Tian Yi"

"And the additional charges?"
"I have heard whispers of a monk who beat two thugs in the market the other day... if you're who I think you are, it would be my pleasure to work on it. All of your things will be delivered by tonight"

>>25055993
>it so happens that a 1 was the perfect haggling roll
>>
>>25056340
After almost an hour of measurements and cloth selection, you head over to the smiths with directions given to you by Tian Yi.

The smith is a gruff man, but it seems he knows his way around the forge, there are some examples of his armor and weapons laying around. Flame-Lily seems somewhat out of sorts here, but she quickly finds some blacksmith puzzles and metalwork art of small animals, Ming seems to analyze weapons and armor for quality... it suddenly dons upon you that she doesn't have any real armor herself.

>>
>>25056743
Browsing through the armors you see a few different varieties on display - most seem to be very good pieces from what you've learned at the dojo, it seems Tian Yi sent you to an artisan.

[ ] Shin + Armor pieces (4sb) : Provides absolute minimal protection, but no interference with movement. Would be good on Ming
[ ] Light Armor suit (13sb) : Includes a chest plate, upper leg coverings and shoulder guards in addition to the shin + armor guards, but not a helmet. A step up over the previous example, more protective and only slightly hinders movement/stealthiness. Good on Ming.
[ ] Medium armor (21sb) : Heavier and more protective than the previous version, includes a helmet. Slightly restricts vision and movement, larger penalties to stealth.
[ ] Heavy armor (45sb) : The heaviest collection the smith has to armor, this suit is meant for a career soldier - it is by far the most protective, but the most penalizing too.
[ ] Ask the smith to help complete your request to Tian Yi.

You may select multiples here and they do have multiple suits of armor.
>>
>>25056917

I say get Ming the Light Armor suit, and then get our special request done.

Do you all think we should get some standard-tier armor for ourselves, too? Maybe medium-weight, or so.

Please don't do that retarded videogame logic where heavy armor restricts movement, slows down the wearer or in any way is a burden to him. The only thing it might get negative on is the stealth, only because it makes sound, not because it restricts movement. Oh and it might get too hot in it during sunny days.

>>25056932
do this
>>
>>25056996
Encumberance - these aren't suits of full plate where the weight is evenly balanced out all over the body. These are more similar to chain vests and they will interfere with your bending movement at certain levels of encumberance. I don't know how you think you should still be able to do butterfly twists in heavier armor, you're trading mobility for protection.
>>
>>25057033
Also, Chinese armor wasn't articulated if I recall.
>>
For the sake of expediency lets get Ming some light armor.

As for our ninja persona?

Lets call ourselves Shadow Dragon, use medium armor, and a helmet with a dragon mask and a bit of chain hanging down from the helmet to protect our neck.
>>
>>25056917
Speaking to the smith you indicate a desire to purchase a light suit for Ming, they say they'll have to make some adjustments but it'll be ready within the day. You can't help but think that it might be worthwhile investing in a suit of medium armor for yourself, brushing that thought from your mind you speak to the smith about the reason you're actually here. "Tian Yi sent me here, I wanted to have a 'custom' design built, designed to be used with a cloth body suit muffling noise while still providing reasonable protection and hiding the armor plates" You state.

"It sounds complicated, I think I could do that but it would take some time..." the man seems to sigh.

"Tian Yi also asked you to send one of your apprentices to him to work out the details"

"I could do that but I'd need you to come back here for a bit to work out the finer details. It might take a day or two, it could go faster if I had a firebender to help work the forge, but most of the benders have been snatched up by Lao Len - easier to make money off of crime than honest work".

187sb - but you haven't worked out the details of the custom armor with the smith.

>>25057033
Unless they weight like 50 kilograms I see no problem doing butterfly twits or anything else as long as they don't hamper movement. Somersaults and cartwheels might not be the same as butterfly twists but I've seen people do that in full plate armor. I don't think you understand what human body is capable of and how much of little weight is 12 kilograms spread out the entire torso. I think my school backpack used to weight more than that.

Eh, whatever, perpetuate the myth further if you want. No one in their right mind would wear heavy armor if it reduced their speed, ability to move and deliver precise strikes. Same as people thinking that 2-handed swords were heavy as a bag of bricks when they were 3kg at most.

go with medium armor then

We should help him forge our armor, further more we should ask if he'll let us help him make throwing knives too.

>>
>>25057211
You were given a reason, these suits will restrict your movement - this isn't european plate. I'm aware what 30lbs of weight is like, I don't feel I'm perpetuating any myths at all - I didn't claim that Mings guan-dao weight 45kg like many 'historical' sources have claimed Guan Yu's glaive did.

If you want to do things different - please feel free to run your own quest, don't bitch at me about how I'm running mine.
>>

Speaking as a martial artist, I can tell you that doing martial arts in street clothes is completely different than doing them in a Gi, even street clothes like jeans can restrict your movements more... It's not a huge leap of logic to assume that armor would affect more complex martial arts movements.

You'd be fucking amazed at how much clothes choice can affect your success at activities.

I'm a stage hand, I lift and move a lot of heavy stuff. I actively refuse to use anything but jeans on the job because even if they do restrict my movement they protect from scrapes and impact to a degree. They're also very hot and prone to giving me a case of swamp ass.

If thick cloth can affect subtle movements (ever try to pull your allet out when you're sitting down in denim pants?) just imagine what boiled leather backjed by metal will do to your fine motor control.

You head over to the forges to start helping with the smiths backlog of work. You've never attempted to use your firebending for something like this before and as you start out it shows for a bit, but you're a quick learner.

Taking a bar of metal into your hands, you infuse heat directly into it... unfortunately you don't quite understand the needs of the smith and most attempts end up far too cool or too hot for the smith to work with properly, it proceeds like that for half an hour until you finally begin to understand what he needs. The second part of the hour goes much better and you're able to anticipate his needs well, You work so quickly that that particular apprentice ends up low on iron - he directs you over to the smelters with him. You remove the top of your ochre monk robes completely and you feel the eyes of the female apprentices and flame lily upon your well muscled back. You spend two hours sending your hottest fire into the smelters and though you tire sometimes a great amount of quality metal is produced, the apprentices are quite pleased with the work.

Then Tian Yi himself arrives and works out the details of your suit with Master smith Ren Po (it seems the two are old friends, Ren Po frequently doing fine detailed ornaments for Tian Yi's wife). Explaining your suits needs you work directly under his supervision, as there isn't much armor in the suit and he's able to convey his needs exceptionally well, your work is nearly perfect, so good that in the latter part of the hour he decides to do the comission for flame-lily's knife himself... the work is masterful.

After four hours at Ren Po's smithy you finish, He ends up charging you only 5sb for the custom work done and extends an offer for you to come back should you ever need to work for some honest money. It seems he was thoroughly impressed with your assistance after the initial hurdles were overcame.

After a quick bath and a meal, you return to your rooms to find flame-lily admiring the new dress she received.

"Maro! its quality is absolutely stunning a few of the other girls saw it as it was brought in... and I don't think that I've ever seen them look so jealous. To think that they laughed at me the other day for having to serve a monk!"

>>
>>25058684
>>25058694

We're going to kill that fucker anyway so what's the point of asking?
>>
>>25058694
As long as this means we don't have to drag her around. Send her to our family with our sister when this is all over.
>>
>>25058786
She's make a good servant back home, and a good escort for our sister. Not a bad idea.
>>
[x] strategy session with ming and flame lily.,

Lets just get on with this.

Oh and if we want flily as a recurring characte we should just hire her as a servant and send her to jin to work for our family.
>>
>>25058810

The problem with that is that it leaves all the other girls in the complex essentially homeless.

Maybe instead we could get our family to buy out this place once we're done here, that way the family has a place to sell its tea directly and the girls don't go out into the street?
>>
>>25058841
Oooh, this is a good idea. Would extorting a corrupt businessman into leaving his business to us in his will and then murdering him be unethical if it was done for the betterment of his employee's lives?
>>
>>25058841
So we put the oldest girl or girls in charge, run it their way.
>>
>>25058841

I did suggest earlier making sure that control goes to one of the girls and they turn this into a proper establishment. Though we must make sure that only a decent person gets control, just because they were forced servants here doesn't mean they wont resort to the same shit that their bosses did.
>>
>>25058876

Sounds underhanded as slap to me. I'd go more along the lines of the man dies, no one around to take the building, and then suddenly a rich noble comes along and buys up the place on the cheap.

>>25058878
>>25058879

Definitely let the girls here stay or leave on their own will, and the experienced ones run the place. Perhaps a member of the family could stay on as a liason and manager, essentially, if Bender-World culture allows for such things.

>>25058453
If we're still tied up for what to do I say request Snow Lotus, then have her contribute to the group strategy session.
>>
"I suppose I should explain to you what I hired you for Ming" you begin to explain "I have found out through conversations with Flame-Lily that my sister is being held by the crime boss known as Lao-Len, I learned this after I sent a challenge to her organization, informing them that I intended to tear it down around them". Ming Puar nods and says "Suffer no evil, Gen Xiao Ren agrees"

Flame-Lily looks at you in shock "... What? I didn't know about anything like this Master Maro, especially your sister"

"I have something more to speak on with you Flame-Lily... I learned through Snow-Lotus that many girls are abducted and sold into this house by Lao Len... and that the master of the house is a cruel man. I have heard that he has beat girls to death for saying something he deemed inappropriate" You confess.

"Maro... are you talking about Stone-Flowers? I was told that she left the house and went back to the earth kingdom... I don't think Zhao Peng could ever do that" she seems upset by this news.

"I intend to find out after I deal with Lao Len... I think it would be wise if you made plans with the other girls to leave late in the night, find someplace safe... I may end up burning this house down to see what filth scurries out".

"But... I have nowhere to go - this house has been all I've known since I was a child of seven. Zhao Peng taught me to use my love of tea and Pai Sho to entertain customers... I don't know how to do anything else". Flame-Lily's bubbly exterior seems to pop with this confession.

>action?
>>
>>25059013
"The problem isn't with the house, it's with the people who run it and force girls into slavery and beat them. It needs someone like you, who cares about the people working here.

Flame-Lily, this is important, I don't want the people I'm trying to help to get hurt because of this and I need you to help me."
>>
>>25059013

Wait, when did we decide to burn the place down? I thought we were just going to zap Zhao and Lao-Len into recognizable husks.

Comfort Flame-Lily. Tell her that it's not what Maro wants to do, and if we can, we'll avoid it, but it's a possibility and we wanted her to know. I think most are on board with adopting at least Flame-Lily as a servant, if not going along with the whole 'reform this place' plan.

First things first, though, once FL feels better, time to plan our attack. Maybe have her lead us to Zhao Peng's office-equivalent, and force him to give us LL's location?
>>
>>25059091

Unrecognizable charred husks, that is.
>>
>>25059013
Let's not burn the place down, they need a place to live after all. Just say the burning it down thing was a metaphor.
>>
>>25059091
You already know her main operation is at the docks.
>>
>>25059013
"Flame Lily, I am a man of means. I have many friends. I also have a large amount of money. If I can, I plan to buy this house and put one of the girls here in charge to run it for me. If not, I know many nobles who may desire skilled servants."
>>
It was stupid to tell ANYONE that they have our sister.
We kept quiet about it because if it gets out somehow they can use her as a leverage against us.
>>
>>25059119

Well, knowing which building it is would be a good start. Unless we want to just start torching random warehouses out by the docks.

Best way to get that is to confront Zhao Peng directly and make him an offer he can't refuse.
>>
>>25059091
Yea, burning it is silly...

But it can be explained as not on purpose, the crooks just have their own firebenders... and the house can be rebuilt and repaired and run under new management. (there is the nice noblewoman).

Also you don't intend to just murder her boss, the idea is to look for evidence first or maybe confront him. It's Lao whom you are going after
>>
>>25059382

This.
>>
>>25059382
You think there might be a chance that the nice noblewomen we met earlier is Lao Len? It might be possible if she keeps her identity a secret and uses a proxy. That would be why those thugs didn't recognize her.
>>
>>25059091
"I had wanted you to know that it was a possibility. I think the majority of the people 'working' here will probably end up wanting to leave to return to their homes... We will see what the future holds, if any wish to remain here I will see what i can do to aid them... I firmly believe that corruption has taken root in this house though and I dont think it's possible to cut out the core of the rot 'rotten wood cannot be carved'. I have a family in Jin and if you wish you may go to them with my sister when I recover her if you wish"

Flame-Lily seems to nod, today seems to have been a bit of an emotional earthquake for her. You ask her to take care of your possessions in the meantime, the guinneapigbat refuses to seperate from you.

"Maro I will tell the other girls to be ready to leave in the middle of the night..."

"Now, Ming I know the main operation is in the docks - in your time in the city have you seen anything there? I have not yet had the chance to travel there". You question.

"I have been there Maro, and Lao Len's power is so blatant its obvious, every one of her properties has men in her uniforms standing outside of them". She explains

"Good, that will make it easy. I hope to avoid killing people, but I have no issues with dispensing justice that has long been missing from this city".

You both don your armor, Ming in the light suit she requested and you in the custom sneaking gear you got made and travel to the docks, you quickly identify three spots with Lao Lens men outside of them.

Which will you investigate first :
[ ] What appears to be an opium den
[ ] A gambling house

"Excuse me what?" Ming turns bright red

"bu-bu-but you're the monk" she stammers
"the staff I have in my hands Ming, not the other one"
"s-stop laughing at me Gen! you're the one who even said it in the first place!" she spouts as she takes your khak..khara.

Leaving the furiously embarrassed woman behind, you quickly locate a corner of the gambling house next to another building, with a few quick steps up the other buildings wall and a well concealed gout of flame, you're up on the first part of the multi-level building... No one seems to have seen you and looking around you see a lot of lao len's thugs and what looks to be a firebending entertainer, as well as a few games of dice.

You proceed up to the second level in just as stealthy a manner and see a few girls from the house of white tiles entertaining here, but nothing else worth noting. It seems Lao Len isn't at the gambling house.

You spend some time watching the building looking to see if you can grab one of Lao Len's thugs and find out where she is...

Then you notice one walking straight towards you - but not in a purposeful manner... in fact as you press yourself against the darkest corner of the whole outside of the building the man steps over the railing and walks towards the corner you climbed up... and drops his pants - it seems like pissing off the roof onto the corner of another building is a big joke to lao lens thugs.

You pull out your sai and walk up behind the man, stepping in close you put the cold steel of the sai against the base of his spine at the same time a hand snake around his mouth and holds him tight. "Where is Lao Len" you snarl quietly.

The man tenses up but doesn't attempt to turn at all "... She's at the opium den, like she always... chasing dragons".

We should limit any scene causing until after the serpant's head has been taken and our sister secured.

Also, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that this is a trap since we TOLD her we were coming for her (via proxy) and beat up a group of her benders.

>>
>>25060062
Taking your hand from his mouth you grab the back of his top, removing the sai from his back you turn it into a lightning fast strike against the mans temple - he's out like a light and suddenly dead weight, you let him drop pants down facefirst into his own puddle of filth. He lands with a loud wet slap, and immediately you hear people in the gambling house laugh uproariously "there's always at least one ever month - someone go make sure he didn't kill himself falling off the roof, he'll be the laughing stock of the triad until someone else falls".

Using the distraction you sneak back to Ming who still seems to be blushing. "Lao Len is at the opium den... apparently she partakes - do we go with a frontal assault? or do I sneak in and signal you if there's trouble"

"I'll sneak in... and if there's any trouble you I'll signal you" you say to Ming. She nods, still trying to stop blushing.

You have no problem getting up to the opium den, and using the same trick as last time you get up to the second level... you walk the roof a bit trying to find an entrance when you feel that you're being watched... turning quickly you throw a quick whip of flame to which the man you felt was watching you leaps at least twelve feet over effortlessly. An Airbender.

As he descends slowly you start to throw a punch that will create a bolt of fire, but the man brings his hands together in a clap, which resonates like the thunder. You bring your hands to your ears and you know you scream in pain even though you cannot hear yourself... as you crouch in agony for what seems like an eternity your hearing slowly returns.

"Greetings Maro of the Lightning... I am Song. Song of the Thunder, currently employed by Lao Len".

End of Firebender quest episode 4, and end of the night of black tiles part 1.

On the upside everyone who was chasing dragons in the opium den is probably now shitting themselves as there was a thunderclap in clear skies *right* above the top of their building. Song scares enough of Lao Lens gang that they don't want to be around him when he's getting his thunder on.
>>
>>25060591
Just don't force the issue. I know it's tempting to promote an NPC you really like, but if everyone feels like she's weighing everything down, that will cause frustration. Your telling an awesome story, but this is a quest, first and foremost. If we don't want her, respect that choice. Many a quest has died due to a lack of freedom for the players.
>>
>>25060787
On the other hand though, unless you investigate the characters I'm not just going to hand you everything about them.

Random lady in the market? Completely unplanned NPC - I've had to take down a few more notes for her because of player speculation that she might be worthy of making sure house of white tiles is run right if it's not burned down
>>
>>25060862
That's because our focus is taking down Lao Len and saving Maro's sister. It would seem people would prefer to avoid "Waifuing" and do other things. Again, if she's unwanted, don't force it.
>>
>>25060954

Having her come along doesn't make her a waifu.

It makes her a party member.

Maybe she's got some awesome nonbender/people skills we know nothing of? At the very least she's shown us that she's kind and rather reliable.

Don't jump to waifu just 'cause she's got tits and ass. I say, if she asks to come along with Maro, he lets her, but only after warning her of the danger.

Honestly, I think of her as Fu from Samurai Champloo. She can show her use, but she'll never be a waifu.
