>Yearling's Stat sheet:

20 Mental Power
10 Limit
1 Bonus
Combat Dice: 2 Attack, 2 Defense, 2 Positioning (1 base, 1 dragon age category)

Powers:

>Hypnosis
Hypnosis is somewhat of a misnomer: It forces the mind to turn on itself, sending it into a state of deep sleep. Only works on sentient beings.

>Telepathy
There are two uses of Telepathy. The first, which always costs 1 Mental Power, forms a link between user and nearby target until they move far enough away from one another, or are seperated by a dense material.
Further dedication of mental power allows for greater distance. Current base range is 20 meters ( 1 base, 1 bonus x 10 meters ) and maximum is 110 meters (10 limit, 1 bonus, x10 meters)

>Telekinesis
Allows exertion of the power of the mind to affect the physical. Additional mind power allows more power to be exerted, OR for greater range (specify in suggestion.) Base range is 11 meters, base power is 11 pounds of force.

Mental Shrink: You can 'hide' your mental signature on the Walk, but all powers will be limited to a single point expenditure.

Hoard is currently worth 43 gold.
Current lair is an attic, which has the benefit of a steady stream of easy to hunt food in mice and rats.

----

It's time.

The Goblin looks at you as you awaken from the Walk, nodding.

"Preparations must be made, yes, yes." he says, nodding. "Are you prepared to discuss this matter?"
>>
>>25034044
>"Preparations must be made, yes, yes." he says, nodding. "Are you prepared to discuss this matter?"

Yes.

Wait, what were we doing?
>>
>>25034082
You nod, recalling your present task.

You were born apart from your clutch of eggs, this Goblin separating you. The King of this land aims to train the rest as slaves and mounts, for what purpose you do not know. Your Goblin friend has made you aware of this - and you've seen their mental presence in the Walk.

"Very well. The structure is rather large, built out of old barracks." he says, "It is squat, built of stone, with locked doors and windows. I only have power enough to open one door for you. The front door leads a winding path through the building - there will be guards to dispatch. The back door leads directly to the hatchlings, but the alarm will be quicker if you falter." he shifts. "Once I have opened the way, I cannot assist further."
>>
>>25034163
Backdoor seems best. Get in, grab the hatchlings and get out, Hopefully fast enough that we don't have to fight anyone.
We're not good at fighting.
>>
>>25034163
How long till the alarm if we get from behind door?
>>
>>25034262
>>25034199

"I would like the back door." you say, comfortably curling on your horde, though your tail slips off. "But how long would the alarm take?"

"Likely, about a minute or two - but the alarms here will call every guard in the city to the locale."

You grumble - that's a significant force. You know the King keeps a large force in the city. This is most troubling.
>>
>>25034311

But the front door has guards that need dispatching. Wouldn't that raise the alarm too?

Also, ask him what we could get from there which we could use as evidence.
>>
We could start several fires throughout the city to distract the guards while stealing the eggs.
>>
>>25034311
>"I would like the back door."
>be the goblin
>wink eye knowingly, give a leering grin
>>
>>25034311
Ehh, we'll just have to not raise alarm then. It's nothing we can't accomplish, we're a drake and all. Go through the back door.
>>
>>25034362
Hey! We're not even a year old! No goblin buttsex until later.
>>
>>25034325
"The front door has guards as well. They can raise the alarm too."

"Yes, but it will take them longer." he states. "But I see your point."

"...What of a distraction? Starting some fires around the city..."

The goblin nods.
"Doable. Quite doable. I won't be able to time it, but I can secure you a little more time."

>>25034385
"And I can always simply not raise the alarm." you state with a nod.
>>
What kind of an alarm is it anyway? Just bunch of guards which upon seeing us will raise it or some mechanical or arcane trigger system?

If it is just guards, we might be able to get in without raising any alarms.
>>
>>25034390
But I thought that this was the dragon shota quest...
>>
>>25034396
Is there any chance of a feast day or something like that in the near future? We could slip in when the guards are drunk or otherwise preoccupied.
>>
Lets do it then.
Though I'm not happy that we're doing such a dangerous mission when we're so weak.
>>
>>25034627
Yeah it seems a bit early to do this.
>>
>>25034412
"What sort of alarm?"

"I was not able to glean that." he says. "But shall we head out now?"

>>25034627
"Yes. Guide me."

You are lead through the sewers, up to a street near the kennels. The building is shorter than the others with a single tower poking up. A door sits near the center of the nearest wall to you, a single oil lantern swinging on a hook in the wind.
>>
>>25034658
Spot check before we do anything.

Examine/observe the surroundings. Lets find that alarm trigger.
>>
>>25034658
Put out the lantern on general principles.
>>
What? You're supposed to start the fires before starting the heist! How can it be a distraction if it doesn't happen until after starting the thing you need a distraction for?
>>
>>25034740
Oh right. Don't forget about this. Though the goblin said he'll take care of that
>>
>>25034740
>>25034731
You could steal the lantern with Telekinesis, you think.

I'd rather just snuff the flame with Telekinesis. Far less conspicuous than a floating lantern.

And yes Telekinesis should be able to snuff the flame, a gust of wind would be able to if there weren't glass in the way and Telekinesis is line of sight so CLEARLY can affect things through glass.
>>
>>25034846
Or just use your fingers like regular people. Snuffing out a lantern isn't an issue, folks, let's not make it one.
>>

You notice after looking around that there's two guards posted at the corners of the building.

An idea forms, and you signal the goblin.

He nods, and waves his hand. A guard steps out, leaving the door open. YOu raise your wings, edges against the sides of your head.

Something in the center of your head winks, and the light goes out. You have only moments to act, and you slip inside, scrabbling up a wall and onto the ceiling, out of sight.

The Goblin leaves.

You are in the building. Strong steel cages with latches that only humans or similarily intelligent beings can operate hold the dragons. A table sits at the far end, covered in forms, papers, and an inkwell. The dragons seem to be asleep, but are wretches - skinny and small, barely half your size. Panic raises outside, talks of fire. You have a moment of opportunity.
>>
>>25035070
Search for keys or other ways to open the cages.
>>
>>25035070

Put your poor brethren out of their misery. Then, consume their remains.

Only if we can't find a way to free them, though. It's better then that no-one will have the hatchlings.
>>
>>25035085
>>25035208
You drop soundlessly to the floor, looking over the locks. They are latches only operable from the outside, and you chuckle. Humans are so overconfident - they thought no one would get in! The panic rises outside, and you quickly unlatch all the cages.

Though... Miserable as they all are, you doubt that they will survive. You remember their rage when you saw them. Releasing them and letting them run free might see them recaptured, or dead. It would be easy work to kill them, though not fast, and devouring them would take even longer...

>>25035541
You notice no guards - but you hear some coming. While looking, you notice the papers on the table have many charts and writings. About the dragons?

>>25035546
You shake your head, then telepathically commune with each of the six dragons with care. It takes time, but you get them running outside and into the sewer. After a final look back, you run to the sewer entrance, the tower lighting up a bright, strange green.

A fear rises in your belly. That was easy. Really easy. But you slip into the sewers, to the waiting dragons all staring at you.
>>
>>25035656
Score! Take count, how many hatchlings there are? Don't take them to your hideout yet in case someone has been following you. Instead lead them deeper into the sewers and hide there for a while.
>>
>>25035656
>While looking, you notice the papers on the table have many charts and writings. About the dragons?

Oh shit. We need to snatch them up, probably some good evidence.

Head a ways into the sewers, not directly towards our lair though not moving far away from it. Only then, lead them back.

Okay, that seems smarter than just leading them to the hideout.

(Sadly, no. People failed to comment on the table at first, then focused on the dragons. The die is cast.)

You count all six of them, nodding to yourself and leading them deeper in. They are eager to obey you - either by training or by gratitude - and snap up rats as they pass them. Finally, the Goblin meets you, smiling.

"The deed is complete! Well done."

You puff up a little, head rising.
"I am a dragon, what else could have been expected but success?" you ask, and the Goblin chuckles.

"Very good, very good. Very good indeed. The question now, though, is what to do with them?"

You nod, thinking.

And then your head aches, powerfully, and Goblin rushes to your side.
"Resist! You must resist!"

Exactly. Don't resist by putting up the mental equivalent of a wall, resist by smoothly redirecting into what seems like a mind but isn't.
>>
>>25036067
>>25036065

You roar louder, pulling in the force, redirecting, and then...

You are in the Walk, without even thinking or moving there. A land of power and thought.

Your opponent stands before you, a mighty dragon, powerful and huge.

A prescence speaks, not the Goblin, but another...

"This is the land of wills, of the mind. Here we are but what we imagine, our strengths of that as well. A duel between the minds, is not about strength or power... but cleverness."

And then it's gone, and your foe is barreling down at you.

It's essentially the Oldest Game, only a great deal more active.
>>
>>25036163
Does our opponent have wings? In this world we do, so fly above its charge.

You are dragon, huge and charging? I am water, uncrushable and slick.

>>25036163
What is the "Oldest Game"?
>>
>>25036293
Each person says what they are, and how they'll destroy the opponent. Often in the form: "I am noun, adjective and adjective." The opponent replies with something new of that form, which would not be thwarted by that threat. First one to slip up and say something that wouldn't work loses. Most villains tend to go for more and more power, and expect their opponents to do the same, while most heroes win through cunning and tripping their opponent up with something strange.
>>
>>25036204
Wings grow from your back even larger than normal, and you leap to the skies, flying over your opponent. YOu have the barest moment to react, when fire launches towards you, >>25036290 And you drop from the sky, falling to the ground as a wide lake. The opponent looks to you, then launches to the skies, forming into a sun. Your surface heats...
>>
>>25036293
Ho boy... Someone starts with something. An object, creature, concept, whatever. Then the other one has to think of a second thing and how it would "win" against the first. The format is normally like this:
"I am a dragon, fiery and mighty!"
"I am the sea, ever-yielding and extinguishing"
>>
>>25036336
Become a water lily, soaking up the lake water and basking in the sun.
>>
>>25036336
I am rock, heat-resistant and strong

>>
>>25036435

The world turns as winds knock the man into the lake, stirring the water, then pitching the fluids skyward... And everything resolves. The angry dragon stares at you.

"I will find you, yearling. I will find you, and I will destroy you. You may have won for now. But nothing lasts forever, and you will not always be protected."

You awaken in the Goblin's den, six small lizard heads looking at you, turned slightly.

Work with the goblin to make sure nobody can track the six hatching's minds.

Head back to the lair. Then bring Ysabell to see our new friends.

>Then bring Ysabell to see our new friends.
I don't see why this is necessary.
>>
>>25036556
We have no particular reason to believe our hideout is compromised just yet.

Also: necessary, no, but she's the only somewhat-friendly human we know, and keeping her apprised should prove useful. We're also going to need some help with them, since we can't stay in the hideout with them all the time, nor can our goblin friend, and they seem too young to be on their own.
>>
>>25036556
We need to check on her anyway, given the assault on her dwelling; she may not be safe, and we did promise protection.
>>
>>25036556
Who was Ysabell again?
>>
>>25036595
>We have no particular reason to believe our hideout is compromised just yet.

Dunno, we were attacked pretty strongly by a Walker. It is not out of the question that they at least got a glimpse of the sewers.
We could ask the goblin I guess.

>>
>>25036667
Those would be some ludicrously large pies.
>>
>See Ysabell, Bring to lair

You take the hatchlings to your lair, and they rest in the corner, playing with one of the skeletons. They're small, so small - like the size of housecats - and you leave them to Goblin as you head up.
Ysabell is fine, baking a pie.
"Eat." she grumbles. "You've been gone for a whole day, what happened."
You explain what went on and she sighs.
"And let me guess - you want me to help with the little bastards?"
>>
>>25036723
Yes indeed. Bake a giant meat pie and hide the hatchlings inside, there's no way it won't work.
>>
>>25036761
that's retarded. We haven't even come to consensus that we want to leave the city. Most people seem to be against it.

>>25036723
"And is that a problem?"
>>
>>25036821
No, it's brilliant. Who in their right mind would look for escaped dragon hatchlings inside a pie? And we don't need to leave the city permanently, just get the hatchlings out.
>>
>>25036723
<Bastards might be literally true; we certainly have no idea where they came from. But yes, I could use some help.>
>>
>>25036841
A hungry person?
The hatchlings will probably eat the pie, anyway. There's also the fact that they can't do shit in a meat piee, so after we get them out of the city they might be caught.
>>
>>25036821
"And is that a problem?"

"... Yes. These are tiny, barely-intelligent carnivores which may, or may not, breathe fire." she states. "I can babysit, but not... not dragonsit. Not without payment."

You grunt. "Either you pay me, or I stay right here, safe and sound." she says simply, tossing her hair to look down at you. "But here. Eat." she slides over an old meat pie - it's cold, but delicious.
>>
>>25036873
It's just until we get them through the city gate, after then we'll hide them in a shack or something. Fact is that we can't keep Anne Franking them on the attic, we'll be found out sooner or later.

>>25036904
The hatchlings are kinda feeble at the moment, right? What sex they are?
>>
>>25036873
>>25036905

It's probably much fucking easier and smarter to leave through the sewers under the cover of the night.

>>25036904

anyway, eat the half of the pie and bring the rest to the hatchlings. We ought to know them better anyway, names, their types and abilities.

>>
>>25036904
Eat the pie and contemplate your brethren. Try and find the most intelligent of the lot.
>>
>>25036941
Nope, the dragon after us knows that we hide in the sewers, that's where they're going to keep watch. It would never work.

>>25037051
This, let's pick out the smartest female to be our aide/consort.
>>
>>25036976

Would you not like to have six dragons raised to care about you who will viciously defend you when needed? And another who would be quite...grateful.>

She sighs.
"... Promise they won't bite?"
"They probably won't, if you feed them." you say, and she nods, pulling out three chickens.

Your eyebrows rise and she chuckles, following you. You lead her to the sleeping dragons, who look up at the newcomer who tosses them a meal.

They are all identical so far - small, weak, and yippy.
>>
I don't want her to dragonsit, they have bad memories of humans and she is not experienced with handling them. They will likely eat her.

What we need is to get a whole bunch o'meat. For them and us. Then they will be a little smarter and we could explain to them she is under our protection.

So, we need to lead them to raid a butcher shop and gorge ourselves on meat. Or we need to take them out of the city and raid a farm. Or we could use money to buy a whole bunch of meat for them and us... or we can lead them hunting for rats in the sewers or dogs and cats in the city.
>>
>>25037098
Op can we get a description of the colors and genders? Or can we roll?

>>25037123

All male.

Probably for a reason, though you can't pin it. The hatchlings react well to her feeding them, crowding around the food.

"Were they even fed?" she asks softly.
"I doubt it." you reply, sitting on your hoard, tail curling around your legs. "I wonder if I should get them to the wild?"

She shakes her head, tapping her chin.
"Doubtful they'd survive like this."

Ok, so I thought about it and what we should do is:
1. Agree already to being a merchant for our lady here for some steady income. Invest some of your own hoard in it too.
2. Get some humanoid minions, both sewer goblins and by taking over some human gangs and solidifying control over crime in the city on the surface. Ask our goblin mindwalker ally and friend for the amount and organization of sewer goblins (to see if its feasible to get them ALL under our command) as well as if any are his minions (he did right by us so lets not steal his minions).
3. Get a deal with some meat merchant/s for long term supply of large amount of meats, to paid for with loot from out various adventures as well as some of the income from our merchant activities. Have our human minions collect the meats, then deliver them to goblins at a dropoff point who then carry it to us and our underling dragons.

We should consider how we want to interact with the wretches as well. They're weak and powerless for now but if we feed them and get them to act like proper dragons they'll undoubtedly betray us at some point (as to be expected and encouraged after all of any proper dragon). We could act against type though and see if we can't raise them to be loyal to us. Maybe even become a King of Dragons. We don't have to keep them retarded, if we eat more then them we will grow faster, we have a big head start, we saved them, we are a father figure, we are a boss, we have super mind powers (we don't even have to mindrape them, we can simply mindread for treachery).
And speaking of, once they grow a little bit it would be hilarious to just walk up to the goblins or some organized crime gang as a group of 7 freaking dragons together and demand obedience.

>Merchant what do
Ultimately we would want to expand into a mercantile monopoly that does and owns everything, the question is what to do first.
One idea I have is that we have need for large amounts of food what with 7 dragons to feed and being a food baron lets us buy in bulk and vastly cuts down our cost. Furthermore, our competitor's shipments could be "hit" by us where we don't have to "unload" the stolen goods, merely eat it all up in the spot (that is, the 7 dragons do).
So, food baron sounds like a good place to start.

Alternatively, we start out by doing actual market research and finding out what would be the most profitable. Then do it and just buy the food at full market price.
>>

This.

>>
>>25037810
Idea 3: We focus on a DANGEROUS but highly profitable spice route. 7 dragons would serve as body guards... highly profitable due to lack of competition. Anything that attacks us gets killed and eaten.

She smiles. "I'll work the store and deliver your profit reports. If you like, I'll bring you gold."

Gold. Goooold. Yes. Yes, this works. You nod.

"Very well." you wave your hand. "Deal with the complications." she nods and scampers off. Soon enough, Goblin walks in, tossing jerky to the hatchlings.

Great, so we got a source of income now.
Next up, minions.
A. Declare him an ally and an equal.
B. Ask if he has any minions here, as we won't want to snatch any of his up.
C. Ask for info about sewer goblins. Quantity and organization.

Depending on the answers we will either press all the goblins into service, cut a deal with them, or press a specific tribe/gang into service. (think saints row style)
Then claim a human crime gang and start building up. Have both supply us with meat and profit.

>>25037893
Hell no they are our minions.
>>
>>25037931

As for minions, though: honestly, which is more fun, having minions or being a powerful dragon? Anyone can do the minion thing. I'd much rather help Byzantium become a powerful dragon in his own right rather than just becoming the chessmaster of an army of minions. A mere *human* could do *that*; we're a *dragon*.

>and apologize for blaming him for the mental assault earlier.
Good point, he was helping us fight it

>Minions
When I say minions I mean "for trivial things" not for "be a chessmaster".
That is, I want minions for 2 things only:
1. Provide us with some more gold income (human gang via protection fee from shops, goblins via theft)
2. Provide us with large quantities of meat for us and the other dragons.
3. Provide us with quest hooks (aka, a rival gang is threatening our gang's dominion, we will single handedly kill its leaders).
>>
>>25038083
>When I say minions I mean "for trivial things" not for "be a chessmaster".

"No matter that happens, friend, you are my ally and an equal to me. I trust the goblins here serve you in some way?"

"They alert me and leave me be - and you would be surprised what is dumped here." he adds with a smile.

Hrmn.
"If we were to pool our resources, we could grow stronger."

"Indeed we could. But, please don't gro angry, allying with a dragon is, ah, 'asking for it'." he says with a smile. "Still - you are a Walker before you are a dragon. I would be happy to lend you my tribe."

In the wilderness, far away from the prying eyes of humans and guards looking for them would be much safer. If there's a friendly goblin tribe who can look after them even better. >They alert me and leave me be
"Well, I considered getting some minions to supply with we a steady supply of meat and some occasional gold. I have considered the sewer goblins and the human street gangs. If the goblins are yours I shall leave them be and limit myself to the humans. Would your goblins object to ferrying the meat my human underlings supply?"

So, is she really a dragon polymorphed into a human.
Or a human who pretends to be a dragon in the walk.

>>25039054
>Maybe psychic powers give a bonus to resisting mindrape
Maybe so, especially could be combined with dragons being inherently of stronger mind?
Or maybe he focused his talents elsewhere rather then in mindrape
>>
>>25039222
Either?
>>
>>25039222
What if the goblin did regular rape on us while we were sleeping?
>>
>>25039272
You're in the wrong Dragons quest for that.
>>
>>25039222
Or a dragon pretending to be a human king pretending to be a dragon. Who knows? We'll find out eventually.
>>
>>25039272
Whats the point of doing regular rape on sleeping things? If they're not awake, how will they struggle?
>>
>>25038923

Charisma and Walking Prescience are so alluring.

>>25038887

Read is damn useful, we shoudl take it. But thena gain, we should also take something mroe offensive, like Break and Mental CLoud, and something for the business, like Read Object.
>>
>>25039349
Well less rape and more like molesting, really. Inappropriate touching while we're blissfully asleep, never the wiser.
>>
>>25038923
I want charisma so much, but I'm going to have to go with walking prescience instead.

>>25038887
Read Object looks handy.
>>
>>25039294
Hot diggity damn there's a shota dragon rape quest somewhere?
>>
>>25039399
Nope, but there's one with an armored knight and a female dragon. It's surprisingly good for having that as a premise.
>>
>>25039426
Are you referring to the quest in tgchan where there is a female dragon (who is a total evil bitch), she was recently seduced by a casanova dragon who lied to her and disappeared a few weeks ago leaving her with a clutch of eggs and false hopes of his return.

Then she is raped by a humanoid knight which is very traumatic for her and handled realistically, she reaches out to her best friend, a boy dragon who loves her and is hardcore friendzoned. They get a babysitter for the eggs and then go on a quest to hunt down the rapist knight while having many emotional moments dealing with her mental trauma?
>>
>>25039475
That's the one. Sadly the QM recently decided to just let it die rather than attempt to continue it, though he's still debating that.
>>
>>25039475
Keep reading; he managed to escape the friendzone.
>>
>>25038887
>>25038923
Are you planning to conclude the voting and tell us about our new power and feat in this thread, or at the start of next thread?
>>
>>25039532
Read object and Walking prescience have been chosen.

You are very close to discerning something important. Keep in mind what you saw in the Walk, what you know about the city, and what you've discussed in this thread, and the course will be clear.
>>
>>25039475
>who is a total evil bitch

Mostly seems like she keeps falling into a vengeance mindset, more so than an evil one.
>>
>>25039563
I meant the whole "enjoys murder and torture of lesser beings (aka, humanoids)". The other dragon in the friendzone even calls her out on it IIRC.
>>
>>25039612
She's got an understandable hate for humans. But yeah, she takes it way too far, and does get called out on it. Which is a large part of how he gets out of the friendzone.
>>
>>25039650
IIRC she was doing that BEFORE the rape. And afterwards has been much less cruel to innocent humanoids. Probably due to the influence of whatshisname
>>
>>25039685
Boaga, and we don't know much about what she was doing before the start of the quest.
>>
>>25039561
The "king" is raising dragons. Male dragons, only. Something came after us in the Walk, in the form of a dragon.

I'd guess either the king is raising a dragon army, or a female dragon is the puppetmaster and is raising potential future mates playing the long game.
>>
Archived this thread.
>>
>>25039830
Maybe dragon gender is determined like crocs, temperature of the eggs.
The eggs are all from the same clutch and were probably kept at same temp and thus all came out as males.
>>
What if, what if dragons are like clownfish and the strongest male changes sex when there's no viable female?
>>
>>25039896
Thanks for the thread, this quest is awesome. Already the most interesting dragon quest I've seen. Keep it up.
