You turn away from the broken body of the Vampire Hunter that tried to kill you and that defaced your castle.
The blood magic that burns around him will let your dolls harvest his skin for a long time yet.
For now, you have exhausted your leads. Now, you need resources.

And what better way to find resources than to take them from someone else?
Or to take someone else, and make them resources…

You follow the hallways to a dead end, and concentrate. The castle responds to your will, searching for a ruin near a place where the destitute, the forgotten, and the sickly are common- a place to find raw materials for your designs.

Roll 1d100 for Eeriness.
>>
>>24986008
You are Isabella Katarina Markova, twelfth of the line of Carmilla, thirteen generations from Dracula, the First. This places you with enough blood and power to make you a minor noble in Shadescast, the city of the vampires, and possess your own castle- which does not necessarily have sensible geometry, and which is not always in the same place. Though your physical appearance is that of a young girl, you are actually three and a half centuries old.

You spend your time responding to requests from other vampires for lore, and holding tea parties and other social events, both with humans and vampires. On occasion, you indulge in adding one or two of them to your collection of porcelain dolls…

Recently, you were attacked by a human vampire hunter who managed to temporarily kill you. Upon rising from death, you captured him and left him in the tender hands of your doll collection… but first he managed to majorly deface your castle and burn a portion of your library, including some hard-to-replace texts. Signs point to him having been hired by a rival vampire… and one who was here, and managed to take one of your dolls.

Currently, you are working to turn the mayor of Mark into your soft, gooey servant. The process will take one or two weeks more. You have an eye to investing in the airship trade- but first, you need to raise some seed money, so you intend to become a slaver to turn a quick dollar.

Full Character sheet:
Stats:

Ferocity: 23
Physical power and intimidation through savagery. Also may affect how animals treat you.

You have weak ferocity; most vampires are stronger than you and closer to their animal servants.

Eeriness: 60
The degree to which you can radiate eldritch wrongness. Affects the strength of your magical abilities and mindfuckery, and how good you are at scaring the hell out of people.

You are very, very eerie. Your domination is stronger than most vampires, and your magic and mindfuckery are strong.

Celerity: 29
How fast and dextrous are you? How good are you at flying?

Your celerity is average. More than half of vampires are faster than you to a greater or lesser extent. Of course, you can still outrun most any human.

Masquerade:32
How good are you at ignoring standard vampire weaknesses and hiding your vampiric nature? How good are you at persuading others?

You're about average at hiding your vampiric nature. Minor vampiric weaknesses don't bother you, but the sun will kill you, and you do slip up in front of guests occasionally.

Acumen: 54
How smart and obervant are you? How much occult and esoteric knowledge do you possess?

You are astute and perceptive. Few things get past you. In the political arenas of the vampire world, you are dangerous. Your knowledge of the occult is broad, allowing you to come up with spells for most situations. Other vampires come to ask for your help on matters of lore.

Discipline: 44
How much mental fortitude do you possess? In a contest of wills, can you protect yourself? How long can you survive without blood without entering a feeding frenzy?

Your willpower is above average. You can go for a month without feeding, though you will hate every second of it and it will weaken you. Powerful vampires would think carefully about plans that involved dominating you; they would not, however, dismiss them as flawed for that requirement.

I was in the 1st thread making this up, annoyed at the idea of a castle teleporting everywhere and shit, but I love the archived threads.
>>
>>24986039
Hunger: 20
Currently you are feeling decently full, though not completely sated.
Hunger rises over time and with exertion. As it rises, it will test against your discipline. Not managing your hunger by feeding may result in you attacking someone as your instincts take over.
Holdings: 24 (15 Castle, 5 Catacombs, 4 Unspent)

You own a large castle and the catacombs beneath it. This castle exists in multiple places simultaneously; though it is rooted in Shadescast, the vampire city, it may also manifest in other locations.

The doors that are currently open go to:

Mark, in Grand Victoria, the land of the Ever-Shining Sun. Fields fleets of airships that cross oceans to many other lands, trading for spices, silks and tea. Watched over carefully by inquisitors both official and unofficial, carefully guiding the light of the Empress to where it is needed most. Dangerous political waters for a known vampire, but extremely profitable if played right.

An abandoned castle in Ulvenwald, the land of bountiful forests. Dark and foreboding in its rocky crags and forgotten groves, a perfect place for a vampire who doesn't want visitors to live. Other, stranger creatures are rumored to live in the woods as well, and the villagers give sacrifice to pagan gods to keep away the things in the dark.

Shadescast, the Vampire City. The true location of the castle, passed down through vampire sires. An eternally-dark city hidden in the depths of the earth, where vampire clans strive for dominance and the purity of your blood is everything. Founded by a direct child of Dracula- but the both that first vampire and his direct children have been gone for centuries. Some say he is dead. Few believe it.

Servants: 24 points.
15 Castle: Dolls and House Staff
5 Catacombs: Personal Butler
4 unspent.

Your servants:
Personal Butler and Valet
This long-standing member of your household staff is utterly devoted and incredibly competent. He has the duty of maintaining your personal rooms and protecting and reviving you should you be 'killed'.

Dolls
Your collection of porcelain dolls.
Collected from those foolish enough to challenge you or worthy enough to deserve a place in your collection, these dolls are the result of extended ritual torture, creating perfect, beautiful servants with only a shred of their former selves left within them. Most people will mistake them for completely ordinary dolls until they start moving…

Household Staff
The remainder of your human servants, who do mundane jobs around the castle such as food preparation. Have all been dominated for so long they've forgotten how to think without orders. This long-term domination is undetectable, unlike you normal domination.
>>
>>24986051
Random suggestion, you might want to stick the background stuff, the stat pages, the list of doors, all of that, into a pastebin and put it at the front of your threads so you don't repeat the same 4 or so posts. If you get an account you can edit it to keep it in line with any changes made and you can use the actual post to cover new things and the most current situation.
>>
Your vampiric strengths and weaknesses:

Cast a shadow or appear in a mirror any time you want.
Cross running water easily.
Ignore the power of garlic, though it offends your senses.
Go out on a cloudy day with heavy clothing and a parasol without lighting on fire, though it's still uncomfortable.

You cannot approach someone faithfully presenting a holy symbol to repel you, nor can you walk on consecrated ground. Holy water burns like acid; in food it is a very nasty poison.

Anything that will kill a human will kill you, but you will regenerate from most minor wounds. Lethal ones will result in you reforming in your coffin over a period of a few days; this may be longer in extreme cases, particularly deaths from fire or holy magic. If you are staked, decapitated, burned, or exposed to sunlight while in your coffin, you will stay dead.

> Thresholds: Entering a building uninvited drains you. -10% to all stats if you're in an inhabited building uninvited; an additional -10% per hundred years it has been inhabited. If this would reduce a stat to zero, you cannot enter.

You are faster than any human, but slower than a lot of vampires. Some humans can approach your level of brute strength, which makes you very weak for a vampire. However, you make up for this with your supernatural powers and mental strength.

On blood:
- Vampire blood is addictive and will give you an in into the mind of humans that drink yours. If you drink of the blood of a vampire and are fed upon by that vampire, you may rise as a vampire on death- but it's not a guaranteed thing. Ritual may increase the chances, but it's never certain that someone will rise from the grave.
-Vampire spawn require the blood of their sire to live for the first year they rise from the grave. They are easily influenced by their sire, but will naturally grow to resist this.
- If you do not feed for long enough, you will fall into a deep, death-like sleep until you are reawakened by blood or something with a pulse. As you near this, your instinct to feed will grow stronger and stronger. People who awake starving vampires rarely survive.

Something I noticed in the last two threads, our security sucks!

That dick got lucky and put us down for a few hours, then had the run of the place.

We need to hire/enslave some guards. We'll need some normal Human solders for public, we should also make some nightmare flesh-constructs for when we need extra muscle.

Alucard, make sure we hire some guards when we're not on fire any more.

>>

Are there places we could hire guards that would uphold our cover (ie: are or look human) but would be happy working for an evil Vampire?

If not, we'll just go with the slaver thing and keep a few suitable ones.

A little mindfuckery and feed them some blood and they should be good. We can enslave about 20 at a time right?
>>
>>24986817
No, the mist stays at home. We just ride an animal with our mind.

You said we could do that stuff. I assume we have a few bats in the castle somewhere?
>>
>>24986828
Our house servants are human and utterly loyal, but not trained to fight.
We can hold roughly two dozen people dominated. I say roughly because it varies depending on circumstances. The more we hold the greater the risk, of course.

>>24986860
I am aware, but mist drifts and you'll be tranced while you ride another being's senses.

Ulvenwald: none of note. It's a wilderness out there.
Grand Victoria: A few, but none of consequence other than the mayor. You can roll Acumen to gather info from them.
Shadescast: A number of minor vampires. Your sire, who is incredibly dangerous for you to interact with. Some brood mates sired by the same vampire, whom you know very casually.
You consult on occult matters occasionally, but have no particularly powerful patrons.
New door: Nobody.
>>
>>24986886
>I am aware, but mist drifts
Oh, just stay in solid form and chill in our catacombs then. Our body should be nice and safe there.

>We can hold roughly two dozen people dominated. I say roughly because it varies depending on circumstances. The more we hold the greater the risk, of course.
Yeah, we don't want to push it. We'll just enslave 10 or so until the conditioning is permanent, then we can get more if needed.

Is there a way to speed that up?
>>
>>24987034
>Your sire, who is incredibly dangerous for you to interact with.

Why is that?
>>
>>24987061
Because, as his Childe, you were mentally dominated by him for over a year, and vampiric instinct will naturally put you on edge around each other. Combine this with the fact that he's older than you by a few centuries and you realize why most vampires avoid their sires like the plague.
>>
>>24987052

Is there any way to control where the new doors go?

Like, travelling there and setting something up at our desired target?

>>
>>24987191
I think it would speed things up if we could look for ourself.

>>
>>24987225
New doors go where the castle wants. Having it like you will make it more helpful. Decorating the castle will make it like you more. Summoning the castle is harder than leaving it.

You concentrate, and attach your senses to the mind of a passing raven...

From high above, you can see a cluster of dark columns of concrete and glass, which squat on a crag of rock at the mouth of a great river. The sun burns and the sea freezes, making this a thoroughly unpleasant place to live.
Guards stand on every corner, clad in armor of a slick, black material that glows with runes, keeping careful watch over the ragged chain-gangs that hobble through the streets under guard. The occasional desperate beggar approaches them, only to be sent to the ground by a carefully placed blow from a truncheon.

>>
>>24987345
This is the city-state of Eyesocket. (City of Power! City of MAGIC!)

The city is nominally a republic, but is more properly a plutocracy: those with wealth have a vote, those without do not. This creates a constant technological race between the various nobles of the city. (Though of course they'll deny being nobles, that's terribly gauche.)

This results in many extremely limited-run inventions; whoever has the grandest toy is the star of the moment, but no-one has the resources to manufacture large-scale and everyone guards their secrets jealously.

The pinnacle of both poverty and technology, Eyesocket is a place where you prey on others before they prey upon you.

Eyesocket was once part of a Grand Victorian colony, but there was a revolution and the colony imploded. Seeing nothing to be gained by reclaiming it, Grand Victoria simply left it to wither. Eyesocket was the result; the last city to survive, now a state of its own.

Witches and vampires are distrusted here, but not reviled. Rumours of being a vampire may boost one's reputation, but proof will ruin it.

Leisure time pursuits,

Delve into our brave huntsman’s past. Who he loves, what he hates. Stalk him through his fondest memories and the idealized forests of his child hood. Let him give chase.
A child in the woods at twilight. A rusty spade trembling in his thin hands. Let him stalk us through his fathers house, come upon us from behind. Slide the spade into soft white flesh, over and over. As we spin around and fall, wear his mothers face. Let him hint and be hunted, a hundred times, a thousand. Let him wake sometimes in the inn he planned to go to when he fled our estate. See where he dreams he goes. See how long it takes him to realize that there is no more waking up. No escape.
>>
>>24987840
You remember the location easily enough; though the streets are narrow and twisted, your memory serves you well and you find their campsite easily.

Selecting the leader from the group, you wake him staring directly into his eyes. He doesn't stand a chance. For the shadows, the group is easily led back into the catacombs of your castle, where the securely securely lock them away.

You manage four groups like that before morning comes. Almost enough to begin to strain your control, if you bothered to keep them all dominated.

Now, what to do with them...?
>>
>>24987965
First personally visit them with food, water, that sort of thing brought by servants behind us. If any of them have any major current injuries have those tended to. Inform them that we are in control, but if they cooperate we shall treat them well.

Evaluate them all, see which ones are strong, healthy, and fast, and which are weak, talk to them, see who is clever and who is foolish. Separate the wheat from the chaff, we shall sell the useless, but the exceptional we can keep for ourself, whether as servant, warrior, or source of amusement.
>>
>>24987965
>Now, what to do with them...?

I say we watch them stealthily, see how the react to all of this.

We then take the smartest ones, try to nicely get them to be our "partners". Though if they refuse then we use them along with the other troublemakers as a food source.
>>
>>24987965

Repeat as needed until we have the funds for our other projects.
>>
I have a question about mind-slaving people.

If we dominate people long enough (a couple years) the conditioning will become permanent.

If we feed people some of our blood, we get a direct line to their minds and control over them.

Can we use this and maybe some magic ritual to speed up the perma-slaving process?

Seriously see if any of the merchant princes are offering bounties, see what an ears worth.
We can probably get more for these things if we sell them for parts.

Clean them up regardless.
Feed them well enough for their blood to be at least palatable.

Check their memories just in case one of them is a secret agent or the last surviving member of a fallen house or something.
>>
>>24988314

I would have loved talking to them.

I really liked the interaction with the Mayor in the last thread.
>>
>>24988323
Mental and magical scars. Witch hunters that know what they're doing will be able to tell they're dominated.
>>
>>24988314
Excellent, we'll improve them at some later time. Make them stronger and so on.

For now we have a good batch of chattel. Let's get them fed, washed, all of that, interact with them a bit. Get them into proper condition to be sold.

Then let's talk to any contacts we have in Shadescast for a good way to offload them quickly, who would like to purchase a number of slaves.
>>
>>24988314
Excellent. Put our own to one side for now. We'll sort them out later.

Let's find a buyer for the rest. We've got 40 slaves here and they aren't going to sell themselves.
>>
>>24988373
The ones you've selected are the only ones worth talking to.

> Thin weasel of a man, very twitchy.
> Broad-shouldered fighter, tried to punch you.
> Calm, resolute man, dressed significantly less filthily than the rest.
> A woman with a hidden knife she tried to stab a doll with. The doll is unharmed. So is she, for now.
> A dark-haired woman who knows how to treat injuries, from the first-aid she's done on the prisoners who started fighting each other.

(There are more than these but I'll start you off with these ones.)

> Who do you speak to, if anyone?
>>
>>24988438
>they aren't going to sell themselves.

If we can mind control from a distance and make them say what we want them to say, we could actually do that.
>>
>>24988488
Let's talk to the calm, resolute one.

Saunter on down to talk to him, wear something appropriately elegant so that it's immediately obvious that we're above them in station, class, and poise.

Ask him his name, where he's from, his history, why he's so calm, if he understands the situation he's in.
>>
>>24988488
>Calm, resolute man, dressed significantly less filthily than the rest.

Let's converse with him first.
>>
>>24988374
The Domination its self can be detected until it becomes permanent and we can stop actively maintaining it.

I see no down side to this for the moment. In fact, having to maintain 10 Dominations for a few years will be a pain.
>>
I like the fiesty woman and the calm man.

The guy who tried to punch us sounds like prime grunt material. And a good physician is always a good thing if we ever need something. Twitchy might make a good assassin.
>>
>>24988585
>Twitchy might make a good assassin.

Or possibly an informant of some kind
>>
>>24988529
>>24988374

Just checking, when you say 'mental scars' you don't mean retarding them so they're useless, right?

If doing this turns them into Hordor, I change my mind. We'll just enslave them the long way.
>>
>>24988518
>>24988521
You take a moment to change into more elegant clothes, and then you take aside the unusually calm man.

He looks you in the eyes, the idiot. You will admit he has mental defences better than the rest of them, but they're puny next to the power of your eyes. You have him already, he just doesn't realize it yet.

> Elegant clothes equipped
> overall stat shift: +5 Ferocity, -5 Celerity, +5 Discipline.
> What do you say?
>>
>>24988641
No, I mean mental disorders such as paranoia, phobias, etc. not massively noticeable, but annoying to deal with long-term.
>>
"Amongst the rubble you have glittered like a gem, unpolished, uncarved. And I have chosen you for greater things then to be a street rat scurrying for scraps amongst the garbage. You are now mine. However the choice is yours whether you do this freely. or as a slave to my will. I will not make you choose immediately, but I believe it letting you have that choice."
>>
Maintain eye contact, replace the scenery with something more, pastoral. Let the cries of the others blend into the sound of the high oaks hissing in the wind. Invite him to sit a spell on the mossy banks of a lazy creek.

“hey mister, howd you get all the way out here? You must be pretty lost.”

“do you wanna play a game? The winner gets a single human life.”

“What should we play?”
>>
>>24988644
Don't influence him right now, unless he's planning on attacking us or doing something otherwise stupid. I want to see his true face so we know what to mold and change.

"Greetings, I am Isabella, you may refer to me as Mistress Isabella or simply Mistress. What's your name?

Tell me, do you understand the situation you are in? If so than why are you so calm? I admit that I'm slightly curious and impressed, most in your situation would be acting out.

Now (name), you are mine now, every single facet of you belongs to me. This is not to say that it need be unpleasant, should you be loyal to me you will rise far above in so many ways what you were before and you will see sights, eat food, and learn of things that your previous self could not have even dreamed of."
>>
>>24988644
"You seem calmer than the rest. Is that resolution or have you simply given up hope?

Do you understand your situation? You are mine now. Serve well and you will have a life of relative comfort. Resist and.... Nothing will change. I will simply strip you of you will and make use of you all the same."

You casually make him scratch his nose to drive the point home.

"Do you understand me?"

"Yes, Lady Markova."

You smile brightly at him.

"Good. What is your name?"

"Knife, Lady Markova."

"That's a terrible name for a servant to a noble house. Should you be asked your name, you will reply that it is Maxwell. What is your name?"

"My name is Maxwell."

You force him to raise one hand to his throat.

"Lady Markova. My name is Maxwell, Lady Markova."

"Good. Why are you so calm, Maxwell?"

He smiles.

"Because I know I will become immortal in the service of a vampire."

> How do you respond?

*laugh* Ambition. Perfect. Do not let it go to your head however. Or you will find your life much shorter then you hoped.

>>
>>24989064
"Well aren't you ambitious. It's absolutely adorable.

But I wouldn't assume such a thing if I were you, vampires can be an awful cruel and capricious lot. If you displease me I can always find others.

Tell me Maxwell, what sets you apart from the others? What makes you 'special' enough that you feel you deserve to live for eternity serving me? I remind you that serving one such as myself is a rare gift that few can live up to."
>>
>>24989138
I'd just have to update it later if I archived it now.

"Do not presume Maxwell."

You sigh.
"Ambition. Predictable. Do you know how many others like you I've met? Little puppies, begging to me for scraps from my table?"
He shakes his head.
"That was a rhetorical question, and you have forgotten my name for the second time."
Your eyes flash. His muscles twitch, and with a sickening pop, his right shoulder dislocates.
He cries out, but cuts it off quickly, breathing heavily through clenched teeth.
"Why should I keep a dog that can't even follow basic commands, Maxwell?"
He breathes heavily; once, twice.
"Because. I will. Not fear death. And. I will. Think before I act. And I will. Follow your orders. Lady. Markova."

Acceptable.

Pop his shoulder back into place, he is to be a guard of sorts, and give him a glass of water or something. Servants like water, right? Then we bring in the first-aid lady.

Maxwell will make a fine pet.
>>
>>24989351
"It shall suffice for now. In time I will expect more of you, to perfectly know and fulfill any and every desire I come to have while requiring minimal input from myself.

You have shown the slightest bit of potential, do not disappoint me Maxwell."

Relocate his arm and give him a small gesture of physical affection, like one you'd give to a pet, like a pat on the head.

Then go and visit the girl with the knife or the first aid girl.
>>
>>24989351
"You will not receive a third chance."

I think we're done with him for now. Just pick 10 that seem suitably strong or aggressive, the kind that would make decent guards, and put them to one side.

Also, maybe the girl that knows first aid. We'll have a closed look at her.

Then we can get on with selling them. Or just get to a good point for you to wrap up the session. Whatever.
>>
>>24989477
>>24989431
>>24989430

You call in the woman who knows something of medicine. She flinches away from you every chance she gets, clearly unnerved by you.

> What do you say?
>>
I think reusing our first intro is fine. Let us see how she responds to being told she is owned. If she continues to flinch away tell her she can expect no harm to come to her unless she misbehaves. I think this one needs a soft touch.
>>
>>24989510
Have her kill herself, demonstrate our power to the man. Make it clear.
>>
"Now, now. That's no way to act around your new master. Tell me, what was your name?"

When she answers and doesn't call us Lady Markova, inform her that she is to do so from now on.

We can go from there, because she's clearly not as excited about this as Maxwell is. So she's gonna need some different tactics.
Let's get her reaction to her status as a pet first.
>>
>>24989571
No.
>>
>>24989510
Did we send Maxwell back already, or is he still here?

>>24989571
Nah. If we wanted to do that we could use one of the 40 or so that aren't worth anything.
>>
>>24989600
Maxwell has been dismissed.
>>
>>24989510
Give her some of the same we gave Maxwell. Do you understand your situation? I own you now. Ect.

Let's find out if she has any knowledge or skills that might be useful, or is wrapping a few rags around wounds the limit of what she knows?

If she has skills that could be useful, we'll keep her. If not, we'll just sell her with the rest.
>>
>>24989510
"Do not flinch away from me, I will not harm you unless you disobey me. Control yourself, flinching makes you look like scared prey, I will not have my servants act as prey. You belong to me, this means I shall ensure your livelihood should you do as I tell you to do.

I am Isabella Katarina Markova, you shall refer to me at all times as Lady Markova, is that understood?

Tell me, what is your name?" We'll probably have to replace it with something better. "It is now Miranda. Miranda, I have selected you from among all those here. You demonstrated a gift at healing and some level of compassion. You will have plenty of chances to practice the first and improve your skills in my service.

Where did you learn your skills at medicine? Do you often heal them after they harm each other?"

>>24989571
No, that's a stupid waste of resources. Maxwell knows that we're the scariest mofo in the room.
>>
>>24989630
she can always learn more. If she enters our service she will have a very, very long time to do so.
>>
>>24989671
And no shortage of bodies and people on which to practice her arts. We cut them and warp their bodies, she stitches them up and learns more of medicine from our library.

By the time we're done with her she will be the foremost surgeon in the land.
>>
>>24989671
Why would we care enough to train her?
If we want a healer, we'll get a healer. We don't need to spend years training a hobo to fill the part.

If she has any talents we can use, we can keep her. If she's not worth anything to us, just sell her.
>>
>>24989578
You frown at the girl, who appears to be doing her best to escape without looking like she's trying to escape.

"Come, now. That's hardly proper behaviour in the presence of your owner. Tell me, what is your name?"

"R-Rose."

"A good name. You will call me Lady Markova from now on, Rose. I hope I will not have to remind you."

"Y-Yes, Lady Markova."

"Do not flinch so. You are my servant now. I am the only one who can hurt you, and I have no reason to currently. I will not have you shrink from your duties, is that clear?"

She nods mutely.

"Say it."

"Yes, Lady Markova!"

You nod.

"I have noticed you have some skill at treating injuries. Who taught you this?"

"I learned it myself, Lady Markova. By trial and error and the deaths of people I knew."

You nod.

"Knowledge hard-won, then. There may be a place for you among my staff."

You tap the armrest of your chair.

"Elizabeth. Evangeline. Take this one where she needs to go."

The dolls emerge from their resting places, and take the doctor by the hands. You smile at her reassuringly.

"Don't worry. So long as you do your job, you have nothing to fear."

And she is gone as well.

> anyone else?
>>
>>24989767
Let's talk to the girl with the hidden knife.
>>
yup the knife is next. I think the thug and Twitch can be relagated to a goon squad.
>>
>>24989767
> anyone else?
I'm happy to move on.

To the slave market!
>>
>>24989814
we need servants. we picked out the five best and we're going to use them. (We had a really good roll)
>>
>>24989811
Thug is definitely a goon, we can tell him that we are angered that he attempted to strike his new owner and will have him properly punished for such a thing. But that should he learn his lesson we shall make him far stronger than he is now, strong enough to be of use to us.
>>
>>24989767
Knife girl.

She's fierce. Would make a good guard if we can channel that away from escape.

And if she just stays as an uppity bitch we can make her watch the dolls work on the hunter for a bit and then mindfuck her.
>>
>>24989804
>>24989811
You call the girl with the hidden knife in next.
Her eyes flick around the room in measured sweeps, clearly looking for something she can use as a weaponor distraction.

> You know the drill, wat do?
>>
>>24989829
I'm all for keeping those ones, I just wasn't bothered about talking to them.

Not that I have a problem with talking to her if others want to. I just don't really care about the personal lives of street scum we've turned into slaves.

1nb4 She has valuable skills and will become an important NPC that we would have misses if we didn't talk to her.
>>
This one will need disclipline. Nothing overt. But she needs to know her place.

"Enough. Look at me. "

Introduce yourself, get her name, rename her if necessary. Be firm with this one. No pain though, that will make her fight harder.

Can we inject compulsions into her? Make it so she has free will but will not harm us, our servants or castle and will not escape?
>>
>>24989868
"Stop that. Dogs that snap at their masters tend not to last."

Get her to tell us her name, blah blah, Lady Markova, blah blah.

Ask her why she felt the need to swipe at the doll, what she does normally.

If she seems to be willing to cooperate, send her away. Negatively, she gets to spend a night in the dollhouse and then it's a minndbreakin'.
>>
>>24989868
Put a note of command into our voice for the first command.

"Cease that at once, you will find nothing that can help you and I will have your full attention.

I am Isabella Katarina Markova, you shall refer to me as Lady Markova. Do you understand?

What is your name?"

If we don't like her name rename her, I'm thinking Sophia.

"Now, I can see that you are wary and cautious, but you are far too impulsive and do not sufficiently read the situation. This must be rectified, and if you remain in my service it shall be.

You attempted to harm one of my precious dolls, you are quite lucky that you failed. How do you wish to pay for this transgression?"
>>
>>24989868
Pretty much the same routine.

I own you now. You will address me as Lady Markova. Do you have any useful skills. Ect.

>>24989917
Weren't we going to Dominate them all anyway? That seems pointless.
>>
>>24989947
domination can leave scars. A willing servant can be converted much more subtly.
>>
>>24989947
Doing massive Domination is a double-edged sword. Yes they're utterly loyal, and if we do it for long enough it becomes part of them and can't be magically detected. But if we go that far they lose all ability to think for themselves. If we don't go that far it's noticeable by those who know about this sort of thing.

A loyal, but intelligent, servant who can think on their feet and shows initiative is far more valuable than one we must constantly order to do anything. That means we don't just mind crush them, it means we reinforce their loyalty with mindfuckery, but we take our time and let it come about more organically.
>>
>>24989957
We need guards. Without guards, there isn't much stopping one of them running away the moment they get the chance.

The we get the Witch-Hunters on out ass.

Just Dominate them. Unless we do something retarded to draw an investigation, no one is going to be inspecting our house guards.
>>
>>24989991
Thug and Ex-Hunter can be our gaurds. Both are perfect. But the other four seem to be suited for other tasks. For example Maxwell and this girl might make excellent assassins, spies and thieves. Twitchy could possible join them. We need to talk to him as well. Rose on the other hand can be trained into helping us make our dolls and service our servants when they are injured.
>>
>>24989972
>they lose all ability to think for themselves.
I don't think Domination makes them that useless.

Alucard, can you comment on this.
Will Domination make them this useless?
>>
>>24990017
not useless, but less useful. They will develop unwanted traits. Think Renfield and his various fixations.
>>
>>24989991
Domination is like a spice, relying on it too heavily makes the dish bland as the one flavor overpowers all the others.

If we use Maxwell as a butlery type thing we want him to have enough initiative to better obey us, if we use Rose as a medic and healer we want her to be able to think on her own and learn on her own, for knife-girl we might use her as an assassin, warping her muscles and frame to be better suited at such tasks, and in that capacity while she must be utterly loyal, she needs free thought to do such things.

>>24990017
It happened to our regular household staff, they've been dominated so long that they've lost any ability to think without orders. And Domination can leave mental scars, odd quirks, phobias, paranoia, other annoying things.

We can use Domination as part of it, but shouldn't rely solely on it if we want effective servants that can preform tasks that require thought and judgement.
>>
>>24990014
No, the hunter is our torture-toy for the next 10-15 years.

>Maxwell and this girl might make excellent assassins, spies and thieves. Twitchy could possible join them.
Those are roles that require operating away from the castle and working independently.

If we did that without mind-slaving them we'd be ASKING for them to call the Witch-Hunters on us. That's dumb.

They're just a bunch of hobos, they'll do for goons but if you want a proper assassin, we can find a proper assassin.
>>
>>24990095
One who is loyal? Who owes us everything? Who took them out of the gutter and gave them a home? (Or at least that will be what we will make them think)

No, you underestimate what a loyal servant, properly trained and conditioned can do. Dominating them like that is a waste.

As for the Hunter he will be killing his friends, his companions. All the while aware that it is his hands doing so. And he can do nothing to stop himself. That is a far greater torture then mere physical pain.
>>
>we will turn him into our new butler.
>we will train her to be a medic.
>they can be our spies and assassins.
>they will be our loyal, intelligent servants.

This is total player fixation. They're just a bunch of hobos. We were just going to grab a few goons to serve as house guards and sell the rest.

Why do people want to make them into more than they are?
>>
>>24990179
Because they are the best of 50. We rolled very well to pick them out. If all we wanted were mooks we can grab ten more of those hobos and use them as foot soldiers. But we don't want just regular grunts. We want Servants. Useful tools that will be worth the effort of upgrading and lengthening their lives.
>>
>>24990095
Most "proper assassins" cost money and their loyalty is not to us, but to themselves, it adds an additional layer of possible failure and of information leaking. Having some in house assassins is good and I'd rather not leave a glowing neon sign on them saying "this fuck is Dominated as can be" nor do I want it to impair their ability to think on their feet or show initiative while preforming their duties.

Yes we should be careful, ensure loyalty, test them, mold them, but just throwing Domination at them wastes a lot.

>>24990179
Because we can make them more than they are. They're more fun that way. We picked the cream of the crop and show interest in them.

Most of them are chattel to sell and aren't worth much, but these ones have skills and potential to be useful, especially once we alter them.
>>
>I am not a vampire, so time to get some sleep.
From first thread, suspiciously specific deniaal.
>>
Also, we can use some of the lesser specimens to start experimenting with project hobo flesh beasts.

Big dumb monsters always make ok guards.
>>
>>24990202
Fine, compromise.

We grab 10 mooks and do the insta-slave thing. They can serve as house guards.

That way we have something to ensure the others don't run away the moment they get the chance, before we have the chance to train them and instil some loyalty/obedience.

This is just the first crop.

If we want to fund our other projects, we'll need to collect more than this. We won't earn enough for controlling shares in the shipyard with 35 hobos.

>>
Well, I'm off to bed. If Alucard comes back, I'll cast my vote on what to do.

Dominate 10 goons to serve a house guards. They can make sure the ones people want to train don't run off.
OP said we can perma-slave them with a magic ritual bit it's a bit time consuming. We can just space this out over a few weeks.

Once that's done. Head to the slave market, let them know we have some stock and we'll be getting some more.
Work out a supply deal then start making nightly hobo hunts.

Later~
>>
This is traditional "first person we see, we grab onto, and make permanent NPC party member" type thing seen in every quest.

Not necessarily unreasonable, but sometimes it's best not to get that attached. They're a pastime to make proper folks out of hobos, not a solid house guard.

If we want a house guard, we should craft hoboflesh into giant beast.

Go with the same routine as the first guy, and see how she reacts. If she attacks without any weapons she's just a moron and can be thrown in with the rabble. If she manages to hide/improvise one, she's resourceful but stupid, so dominate the shit out of her then make use of her skills. If she holds back, she's smart (but will still need to get dominated).

Is she pretty enough to be a doll? What's particularly special about her that we separated her off from the others apart from the stabbing?
>>
>>24992536
Did you mean "Fiend"?

I'm fine for the moment, but thanks for your concern. ^_^
>>

No friend, I meant what I said and said what I meant. And be sure to be okay!

>>24992581
Plus side: sneaky enough to keep a knife on her person
Minus side: stabbing a doll amidst lots of other staff.

Not too bright. Give her a choice; serve us, or be sold into slavery. She can keep the knife.
>>
>>24992543
Do we use the hypnotic qualities of our voice here? Some suggestions to not attempt escape could be useful for this one.
>>
>>24992619
Actually, she picked a good time for it. She's just lucky (or unlucky) that our dolls are quite resilient and don't break easily.

Her knife didn't scratch the porcelain.
>>
>>24992619
Seconding this guy. Give her a choice
>>
>>24992629
Give her the choice, but tell her she won't escape if she chooses to stay.

In this case, bending her to our will is better than simple domination, as we want to keep her independent ability to act more alive than not.

If not, ditch her with the rest of the slaves.
>>
>>24992629
No, we need to see how she'd react without influence. After all, if she doesn't try anything because we're influencing her not to, we'll have no idea if she's smart enough to understand the situation and avoid fleeing. Plus, if she tries to get away and does well, it means she's prime minon material after domination, and Isabella seems haughty enough not to be worried about some hobo actually succeeding in escape or attack anyway.
>>
>>24992661
Do note that the last person who killed you burned your library.
>>
I'm back. Glad you gave us the twitter.
>>
>>24992677
There's a difference between being unprepared and prepared. Of course, we stop her if she attacks. But, we'll avoid dominating her FOR THIS DECISION. If she agrees, she get the full course of domination in terms of conditioning.
>>
>>24992677
Being unprepared for a vampire hunter is a bit different from being prepared for a hobo, as >>24992710 mentioned. The guy got us by slipping poison into something we consumed, there's no way anything like that would happen here.
>>
>>24992710
>>24992818
And, you know what, if she manages to down a vampire in her lair, unarmed, with killer dolls all round,

she's definitely earned her place as a minion.
>>
Did we ever take the dickass' fancy hammer that he threw out our window?

Might wanna grab that.
>>
>>24992543
As her eyes pass your chair, you carefully produce a nail file from one sleeve and begin filing your nails.
She stiffens almost immediately at the sight of the metal, finally giving you her undivided attention.

"Hello. I am Isabella Katarina Markova. I own you now. You will not attempt to escape; escape is a futile effort. You will address me as Lady Markova or not at all. Do you understand?"

She doesn't nod. You grab her chin.
"I said, do you understand?"

She nods.

"Say it."

"Yes, Lady Markova."

You nod to her seriously, ignoring the table knife she managed to slip into a pocket while you were supposedly 'distracted.'

"What is your name?"

"Scarlet, Lady Markova."

You frown.

"I don't like that one. Particularly on you. Pick another."

She blinks.

"I could be Felicia if it pleased you, Lady Markova."

You scowl.

"I already have a Felicia. Again."

"Catherine, Lady Markova?"

You shake your head.

"No, let's call you Sophia."

She smiles at you, but there's just a little too much tension in her face. Clearly this treatment is getting to her.

But she smiles, and tries to be courteous, and talks as little as possible.

> Anything more you'd like to do before final judgement on this one? Otherwise, what's her job?
>>
>>24992903
Nope, it's still lying somewhere in Ulvenwald Forest.

>>
>>24993181
Do we take this opportunity to do some?
>>
>>24993214
Sure. We can start out with not wanting to stab us as much. And not wanting to escape as well.

If it won't fuck her up too bad, which it won't, correct?
>>
>>24993181
Sure, let's make sure she never harms us or our dolls and important property, as well as never speaks anything of us beyond our pubic persona to anyone.

I figure the more directions and orders we implant, the less of the original mind is left? If so, give her a test by making her unable to stay away from the castle for long periods, and see if she tries to escape. Decently smart guards are nice to have when possible, but loyalty is more important, so forgo the 'follow commands' thing (not harming us is enough until we know what to implant) for now.
>>
>>24993239
Yes. Subtle compulsions do much less damage.
>>
>>24993299
>>24993239
The more reasonably you can phrase this to make it easily justifiable as her thought, the stronger and less obvious the compulsion.

Obviously terrible courses of action are easily resisted.
>>
>>24993332
Talk about how her life will be better here, much better than on the streets. In all likelihood, more interesting as well.
>>
>>24993332
"Good, I'm glad to find you so agreeable. Of course, I'm sure I don't need to specify what will happen if you cause harm to me or anything I find important, which you can safely assume to be anything in this castle. If you do well, I can assure you your life will be far better than that on the streets - especially following such a moronic leader. Really, I do feel bad for those of you with some measure of smarts and cunning, getting compromised by that lout. At least I can promise a far...smarter approach to things."
>>
>>24993332
Also, once we're done and she's leaving (assuming she doesn't try to use it first):
"Oh, and do make sure to return the cutlery when you're done with it. Maintaining a matching set of tableware is important, after all. If you need a knife, I'm sure the armory will provide,"

Need to look as nonchalant about weaponry as possible, makes us look more in control and someone worth following.
>>
>>24993424
Agreed.
>>
>>24993332
Perhaps showing her the wilderness of Unvewald to hammer in 'It would be a bad idea to try to escape'. Or the hunter. Basically make the idea of 'escape' unpleasant and reward her for her obedience to make obedience suggestions more palatable.
>>
>Asleep again
>>
>>24992955
You smile disarmingly at her.

"Don't worry, Sophia. I'm just another new leader. Doubtless you've had them before."

She nods slowly as the mesmeric tones of your voice wash over her.

"You will be my head maid. You will ensure the castle staff are doing their jobs. You will do this because it will give you more opportunities than any other job you can find. You will not steal the silverware or anything else that is mine. If you require a weapon, request one from the armoury."

"Yes... Lady Markova."
Her voice is heavy.

You wave her away, and she obediently steps out of the room and into the castle at large.

People are rolling well this thread.

Constant twitching is a pretty common low-level curse; it's an easy way to ruin a rival spellcaster's ability to do much of use with regards to drawing sigils or performing somatic components of spells. Chances are, either this guy has a disease or he fell afoul of a warlock- and you can't think of any local diseases that cause twitching.
>>
>>24994049
Can we get rid of it easily? Hopefully he's good at something that we can use afterwards.

"So, my twitchy acquaintance. Did you happen to run afoul of a spellcaster recently?"

He nods violently.

"I-I stole m-money from o-one of the local nobles."

He moves as if to spit on the floor, but then seems to think better of it.

"N-not that they want any-anyone to call them that. That wou- that would be bad press."

He scowls, eyebrows twitching madly.

Armour-Dolls!

We've already got a method of shaping bodies and sculpting minds to create our dolls.
I bet we could use a twist on this to create Armour-Dolls.

-Armour-Dolls would totally fit our character.
-Mounting them in the halls of our castle as decorative suits will look swank.
-They will allow us to be surrounded by guards, even with Human guests over, without breaking cover.
-Armour-Dolls could be made into real heavy hitters to deal with more powerful threats like Vampires.
>>
>>24994400
You want to risk getting our dolls scratched in combat?

How barbaric.
>>
>>24994361
I vote we keep him for mindrape.

Seriously, being magic as fuck is our thing. We do /not/ pass up a chance to learn new magic. Especially such useful magic.

Yeah, agree. I guess if he fucks up/tries to scam us too we can do it, but accounting can be left to that guy.

Also, if his ability literally attracts any cash needed, just write it down and it'll fall into our hands, why would he need to embezzle cash, and why would his employer even care? At least, enough so as to discard a literal goldmine?
>>
>>24994479
Yeah, our doll ritual is basically just a form of flesh-shaping.
We just make their bodies delicate and doll-like, put them in a shell of porcelain and dress them up.

These ones, we'll make their bodies powerful and tough then mount them in a shell of steel and doom.

Not sure why people seem to dislike twitchy.

All the others did something; Maxwell forgot to call us Lady Markova and said that bit about getting immortality from us, Elizabeth was all afraid, and Sophia had the whole stabbing thing.
And Thugly tried to shove us.

All Twitchy did was say he'd be long gone if he wasn't cursed. No worse than any of the others.

You focus your magical senses on the man seated across from you, and begin to peel away the malign magic that clings to his skin.

As you reach the halfway point, a snag becomes apparent, however. This magic is anchored in his flesh; someone found a sample of his blood. You've not seen blood magic used to bind enchantment quite like this before...

Still, your own experience making your dolls serves you well. Despite your lack of knowledge, the guesses you make are good, and though he cries out as you tear the magic from his flesh, you doubt any permanent damage has been done.

He might resent that, but at least he's stopped twitching now.
