I recently thought of one called The Shallow Desert.

It would be a giant flat plain of salt water the is mostly only about calf deep, but occasionally sinks all the way to your chest or as shallow as the ankles. There would even be a few oases where the water gives way to enough land to support vegetation that you can live off of and that keeps pure water somehow. I was also thinking of having small seaweed and fish populations, they just dont make for easy survival and its really hard to actually cook any food when there is literally no land in sight. I don't know how well it would work, but it seemed like a neat idea.

It's true. I grew up in and around "Blue Earth" on that map; i.e. Mankato, MN. Funny enough, there is a Blue Earth, MN a bit to the south of the town...

Also, we lovely European-descended people took the name from the Native folks in the area, but we pronounce it wrong... mon-KAH-toe is how it should be said to mean "blue earth." Its most commonly pronounced MAN-kay-toe; which is most closely translated to "blue skunk"

Don't forget that deserts are REALLY hot during the day and REALLY cold during the day due to little to no clouds or bodies of water that could isolate/store heat.

Any names bearing resemblence to existing fictional or nonfictional places are probably like that on purpose, but I don't remember the exact inspiration from each name.

The Anvil - massive plateau revered as holy by the dwarves.

The Witchwoods - haunted woods where the dead are said to rise from the grave.

Field of Mercy - where a battle between two warring factions was stopped by the appearance of an angel. The harvest there is always lush and fertile.

Big Jimmy's Amazing Beerporium - The best bar in the universe, hands down. No, seriously. There's written testaments from devils, angels, gods, and even odder hanging on the walls.

The Atlas of True Names is fucking awesome, and I may have to buy it.

It's written in the Imperial records that the emperor at the time didn't like the proposed name because it implied that Yue was theirs, but he also wanted them around as a tributary state, so he reversed the characters.
