"All hands report to combat stations and prepare for void assault." Captain Hariso's voice carries across the vox system as your platoon of armsmen inspect eachother's carapace suits, searching for any fault in the thin skins that will soon protect them from the void. Nearby the scene is much the same as hundreds more men and women prepare for battle and plunder. Your friends Keller and Elise both nod their helmets as they catch you glancing their way, both at the head of their platoons much like yourself. This is your day, you can feel it within your chest. Your platoon will capture the bridge of the enemy vessel before the rest, earning you the coveted position of commanding the prize crew and a chance to earn yourself a permanent position as a captain within Gallagher Wilson's wolfpack.

The vessel trembles as enemy fire strikes her, distant alarms sounding soon after. "Damage teams to decks 5 through 12, sections Alpha through Tango! Assault teams check in ready." With a grin, you signal your team's ready to the company's command platoon." A good fight, plunder and your chance to carve your name into the stars await, pira- privateer. Will you seize this chance?

I may need to specify that NG+ option will override a certain character creation option and add additional, possibly familiar additional info/quirks.

It does add a multitude of crazy encounters, though.

Distant, dull thuds reverberate through the deck and up your flesh, the raider's specialized guns launching massive, hooked chains at it's victim. For a moment, you sense the vessel lurch, but the sudden momentum is quickly compensated for and neutralized. You are Percius Aurex, techpriestess of mars and formerly a captive of the very pirate vessel you now serve. Captured as a lowly adept, you quickly put your limited skills and quest for knowledge to use for these pirates, sensing that they would open new options for your own quest and skills to grow. Flanked by 30 biological defense units under your command, you make your way to the platoon's assigned egress point and prepare to seize your moment. As your flesh brain's excitement is suppressed by the logic of your cogitators, you ponder your tactical situation and objectives...

Objective 1: Gain entry to the enemy ship. Melta charges and cutters assigned to your platoon make this trivial, but the location your BDUs enter the target is quite important.
>How near the enemy's bridge will you attempt to insert your team?

Objective 2: Secure the bridge. The ship's captain is unlikely to go down without a fight, and many times the first team to reach the bridge fails to survive to enjoy their victory in the 'rat race' as Captain Hariso calls it.

Objective 3: Survive. After all, you can't continue your quest for knowledge if you're dead!
>>
>>24964560
Oh god, now we're a woman.

>>24964587
That would be really fun.
>>
>>24964560
Reasonably close that we're not the first team to make it but close enough to be there to take over when the initial teams fail. Of course, friendly fire is always a risk if the first team actually manages to take over the bridge.
>>
>>24964560

above the Bridge if possible. Then we can cut though the floor and send the BDU's right into the thick of it...
>>
>>24964560
>How near the enemy's bridge will you attempt to insert your team?
Through the bridge windows.
>>
>>24964560
Close enough that it's not a long walk, far enough taht we don't drop right into a pile of dudes. Preferably above the bridge so we can put holes in the floor and have the high ground as we assault, and along a untraveled area of the ship so we're less likely to run into opposition.
>>
>>24964539
>permanently eliminate some avenues of character expression and player choice so that they're more likely to get the game they want

Well.... Honestly, yes. When you boil it down, that's the core of it.

The only reason I support it, is because it's never about about the character or the narrative.

It's just about the waifus. To the expense of all else.

In quests where the waifufaggotry was clamped down on, and real character development and relationships were developed often turn out great.

But just waifuing doesn't give that.

Objective 1: about 750 meter from the bridge
Objective 2: Let some other team get to the bridge first then ambush and kill them claim you did everything
Objective 3: If team 1 fail to kill captain lay in ambush and wait for team 2
>>
>>24964777
I agree. Much better than trying to enter directly onto the bridge or destroying a vital system on a ship we want to capture and keep.
>>
>>24964560
>your platoon of armsmen inspect eachother's carapace suits
Are we void suit equipped?

If yes: I say open the sections we take to the void one by one.

Place breaching charge on bridge doors.
Stand well back.
Boom.
Even if they're also void suited, the explosive decompression will kill or maim half of them and the rest will be thrown about and easy to overwhelm.
>>
>>24964850
You do know that the decompression from 1 atmo to vacuum isn't really that bad, sure you die if you're in a vacuum and not suited up, but it's a different of one fucking atmosphere, maybe a bit more if the ship is over pressurized, there's not going to be much in the way of maiming, killing, or throwing about from that.

Not shouting at him. just lamenting over plans that never got the chance to see fruition...
>>
The compartment slowly drains of atmosphere as you grip your clip harness and prepare to secure to the platoon's boarding cable. Some of the more foolhardy pirates enjoy the thrill of leaping to the target ships unassisted, but only a small number of such manage to survive the maneuver. Time seems to drag on for ages as your cogitators debate the advantages of various insertion ideas, including a direct breach on the bridge itself. Daring, but in many cases suicidal. Eventually, you decide upon a moderately distant insertion. With luck, you calculate that your force will arrive just in time to not save the first team...

Another shock resonates as the chains pull your vessel into contact with the target, and your comparment's armored door opens with a minute hiss. Before you is a massive ship, easily a kilometer and a half and dwarfing your platoon, yet dwarfed by all others of her kind. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of small weapons batteries cut across the void between the two vessels as both also begin to swarm with thousands of armsmen and crew. Steeling your awed flesh brain, your cogitators sent the impulses to jump. Inertia and the safety line carry you across, magnetic boots securing you to the hull as your BDUs and fellow pirates fire. Lasgun at the ready, you advance toward an area you calculate will suit your insertion goals perfectly. Unfortunately, it seems you'll have to fight your way through a small squad of foes!

"Blast 'em!"
Your BDUs send a storm of las-bolts into the seven men, cutting down six of their number quickly while you place a single shot into the chest of the seventh. Lost in the storm, the fire of your enemies fails to find any of your men. The machine god smiles upon you as your force secures the location you've picked out, two of your BDUs setting the melta charges as friends and foes alike swarm and war across the surrounding hull. A shudder as your charges detonate, turning the thin armor of the vessel into a massive jet of molten plasteel and adamantium. The decompression of the section pulls a half dozen corpses, most missing large portions of their mass and sporting obvious burns where they were caught in the blast. One unfortunate soul is sucked into the void without a void suit, the thin presence of escaping atmosphere protecting him from the void until he is several meters clear. "Emperor protects" mutters one of your BDUs.

"Into the vessel! Squad Alpha, clear the point!"

MachineSpirit, do you have the twitters?

Is sending an enemy vessel into the warp without a geller field on the off chance that it will return shortly as a Hulk filled with treasure something that is liable to be legitimately considered by Aurex?

All NG+ really did was fix the gender choice and unlock extra event/perils/interaction options or tables. If you'd like, I'll set up a survey to let people vote on the gender factor of NG+ for the next thread, though some of the things would probably start upping your insanity in that case.

minor examples: dreams/nightmares being flashbacks/forwards to PQ events
major example: "that frigate seems familiar..."

Plot? yes. Several, actually. And I've also got several partners in crime who will help come up with crazy side-plots. Mostly, though, you've got over 100 solar systems to do shit in after you've discovered them.
An Interesting Persons List does indeed exist, and will be maintained on the wiki once you encounter them.
You want to do what?
>>
>>24966941
>You want to do what?
I think he means to sabotage the warp drives of the enemy ship, causing it to briefly enter the warp unprotected so as to kill off its crew, leaving only the loot behind.
>>
>>24966790
>>24966808
>>24966835

You will be returning to PQ's original sector some... 3000 years before the events of PQ. The sector is in the first 10 years of discovery and filled with loot.

Currently, your pirate wolfpack is operating within Sector Deus, the setting of Skargan's Chapter Quest, in order to secure what the pirate lord you serve believes you'll require for your adventure into the unknown. [proper channels have been taken for this]
>>
>>24967024

Such a plan would generally be sending a ship on a one-way trip. I've always seen the warp drive as simply tearing a hole between reality and the warp, flying through it, and then propelling the ship through the warp. If you break it during transit, you're still in the warp, just stuck with the currents and you're kind of stuck there until you fix it.
>>
>>24966941

Once this really kicks off, I'll see about adding it to my Archive Storybooks...

A Mad-Genius plan really, You take 1 captured ship, complete with mook level crew (no captain, no navigator, no astropath, no techpriests...) Remove it's Geller Field Generator, Set it for a delayed Warp Jump, Leave for unspecified quantity of time (pray to the immortal God Emperor for warp-time-jiggery-pokery and luck)
Hope for outcomes;
- turned into a Space Hulk
- Localised exit
- Short time Realspace, Long time in the Warp

Then board and collect the considerable quantity of loot that could have accumulated though its unpleasant adventure...
>>
>>24967136

... you would have a statistically greater chance of never seeing any Fe in a score of solar systems, I calculate.
>>
>>24967136
That's a terrible idea.
