Welcome back to C&C3 Quest!

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/24907330/

Last time, /tg/ made the choice to fight for the Global Defense Initiative over the Brotherhood of Nod, and thus was born Second Lieutenant Joseph Sheridan, ROTC Yale-educated GDI commander. We were sent into the Arizona Yellow Zone in the midst of an ion storm to rescue several crashed pilots, a task which involved a few short firefights with local mutant forces, the Sons of the Crystal Desert. However, we distinguished ourselves through both our remarkable restraint and our incredible badassery, killing three mutants at close range and making a snappy one-liner to boot.

Currently, we find ourselves on our way back to Blue Zone 2 and San Diego, where we are stationed, with our pilots. However, we were ambushed by what appear to be Brotherhood of Nod Attack Bikes and Buggies.

Our Predator Main Battle Tank has taken quite a beating so far this mission from mutant tanks and now bike-mounted rockets, and is immobilized but still combat effective. One of our APCs was stuck by the opening salvo of the ambush and currently is on its side several meters from the road, the status of the rifleman squad inside is unknown. You chose to group your other three APCs around them. Your two Pitbulls are circling the battle, playing tag with a pair of Attack Bikes, and are both moderately damaged.

There are two Nod Bikes and two Buggies remaining, although there may be more forces nearby.

Predator target the Buggies.
APC's focus on the Bikes.
Pitbulls kite the bikes into firing zones for the APCs

See if one of the APCs can't help push the one on it's side back on it's wheels.

Fuck yeah GDI! 1st world FTW.

Are there any larger/more accurate maps of the blue/yellow/red zones?
I mean the US west coast is listed as a blue zone yet there are pics everywhere of the Golden gate bridge overgrown with Tiberium and listed as Red.

GDI scum. You sit in your air conditioned homes and eat clean food while most of the world starves as your soldiers harass it. We shall bury you

does anyone think this might have cameos from 'Commando' from NOD Quest?

Your Predator swivels on its unmoving treads and lets off a round at one of the raider buggies, scoring a glancing hit off of the back.

Meanwhile, your Pitbulls quickly align along the route you trace on your EVA and let loose a dual rocket barrage, both of which sail harmlessly over the Attack Bikes. But the bikes realize too late that they are now in firing range of your APCs, which open up with a salvo of bullets and grenades. The Bikes take a beating from the small arms, but manage to dodge the rain of high-explosive grenades launched at them. However, your confident their fragile exoskeletons can't take much more.

The Nod forces quickly respond, the two Bikes letting loose a pair of rockets at your APCs, before peeling away. The grenadiers APC takes both hits, but the armor holds firm. The pair of attack buggies opens fire for the first time, buzzing your Pitubulls with machine gun fire. It does little more than ping off their plating.

From the hilltops, however, comes another rocket, which narrowly misses your un-moving Predator. Glancing at the top of the hill, you can vaguely make out what appears to be a Nod rocket squad reloading. You mark them on your HUD and-

A tremendous crack echoes across the field and your gunner goes limp in his mount. You issue a muffled curse. Sniper.

>What do?

>>24962698
After this one is finished, I'm planning on launching the Nod campaign.

>>24962840
San Francisco is iffy. It is clearly in a Blue Zone, but it is referred to as a Red Zone. I'm treating this as most of coast Frisco being overrun by Tiberium, but kept at bay by sonic emitters.

>>24962895

We'll see.
>>
>>24962870
You left out the 'dying from tiberium poisoning,' otherwise there's no way to distinguish that statement as any different than before Tiberium's arrival.

Same as before more or less.

Predator MBT will focus on the buggies.

Bulldogs will try to force the bikes into a crossfire created by the APCs with their rockets.

APCs will use mounted weapons and infantry weapons to target the bikes.
>>
>>24962937
Have the Predator fire on the Nod rocket squad.
Pitbulls and APC's finish off the bikes then the buggies.

We've got to find that sniper though.

>>24963054
-ahem-

Predator, go for buggies.

Bulldog, fire rockets and try to corral bikes.

APCs and Infantry, go for bikes.
>>
>>24962937

Firstly, send one of the grenadier APCs to deal with the Rocket Squad, and the other to the suspected position of the Sniper squad. Have the Other APCs continue their assault on the Attack Bikes, Have one Pitbull go with the second Grenadier APC to help spot the snipers (as they are liable to be using some form of cloaking tech) and have the second Pitbull help the Predator in dealing with the Buggies.

Also, see if there is someone to take over the gun. If not then we will have to do it ourselves...

I forgot about them.

Dumb I know but that's what happened. I just got off work go easy on me.

anyway have the gunners on the APCs take cover inside the APCs. Have the bulldogs corral the bikes, either the explosions wipe them out or concentrated fire from the APCs will wipe them out after they kill the rocket squad.

TL;DR
APCs, on the rocket squad first, then the bikes.

Bulldogs, corral the bikes with rockets, and then do the same to the buggies if the bikes are destroyed.

Predator after the buggies.

Oh and send at least on APC to look for the sniper, gunners should stay inside of their vehicles (even if it means forsaking use of their gun) until the sniper is dead.
>>
Lots of conflicting orders here

Predator:
>Buggies
>Rocket team

APCs:
>Bikes
>Rocket team
>One APC after the rocket team (grenadiers)
>>
>>24963247
Predator should focus on the rocket team. As long as everybody remains buttoned up, the buggies are harmless. The rocket team is the more imminent threat. Plus they aren't as mobile so they'll be easier targets for its cannon.
>>
>>24963247
Predator = buggies
APC's = one APC after the rocket team, others take out the bikes
>>
>>24963276
backing this, predator focuses on rocket team, rest is whatever OP thinks is best for his writing.
>>
>>24963247
Pred go after buggies. Tanks always suck vs infantry.
APCs: rocket team. They have MG's which shred infantry.
>>
>>24963439
>Tanks always suck vs infantry.

In terms of gameplay balance, yes, but it's going to be extremely stupid in this setting if the Pred doesn't at least have HE shells or a coaxial MG to suppress infantry.

Got rolls for this one so I'll go with it.

The Predator's next shell is directly on target, taking the damaged buggy right through the center. It doesn't explode so much as collapse into a pile of metal matchsticks.

Your APC loaded with grenadiers takes off towards the rocket squad as your order all gunners to close their hatches, his location still unknown.

Your Pitbulls let let loose another volley intent on corralling the bikes. The first volley swerves drastically off course and smashes directly into one of the bikes, and another Nod vehicle falls. However, without your gunners, it survives the volley from the APCs.

Your opponents find that, with surprise not in their favor, they are horribly outgunned. The bike let a single rocket fly at your downed APC before racing towards the hills. The remaining buggy doesn't even bother letting off another salvo and follows. The rocket team lets off another rocket, this time at the APC approaching them. It strikes it directly on its front, nearly blowing out the compartment. The rocket squad hastily begins to flee, not intent on finishing the job. No rounds come from the sniper this time.

The fleeing vehicles are still in range of your Predator, and your Pitbulls could probably catch them, but you aren't sure what other forces could be waiting in the hills. Your grenadiers APC is still functioning, but heavily damaged, while nearly every other vehicles has suffered serious wear and tear from the fight.

>wat do?

>>24963217

>>

>his location still unknown

>it survives the volley from the APCs

Since we will not defect, we should set up camp in a defensible position, preferably a hill top or some such area where we can have the high ground if attacked. Send a message to whoever's our boss, and ask for a reinforcements. A couple APCs filled with riflemen and grenadiers would sweet right now
>>
>>24963627
Can the soldiers in the downed APC move and double up in the other vehicles? If its just 10 minutes, better to run now and come back with a fresh salvage team for the APC.
>>
>>24963627

Call back the Pitbulls and the APC. Have the Pred give a parting gift to the NOD forces.

Flip the tipped-over APC.
Have the least damaged APC provide cover while the Pred's tracks are fixed. Then we return to base to give our report.
>>
>>24963698
The ion storm is preventing all communication with air support or command forces, but it won't take you long to get out of it, at which point it'll be a simple to matter to get Orcas to kill anything that approaches.

>>24963799

You haven't heard anything from the riflemen inside the APC, although none of them have moved for a while. Some are surely dead, but there are most likely a few unconscious too.
>>
Rolled 1, 1, 2 = 4

Send our least damaged vehicle out of the storm, have them call for backup. Make damned sure the commander isn't in that vehicle and stays with his men.

Remaining vehicles should form up on the damaged Predator and create a defensive perimiter.

As before soldiers will stay buttoned up in case of sniper fire.
>>
>>24963627
Check to see if the downed APC is salvageable. If not, remove the passengers and crew and scuttle it.

Check with the Pred crew to see if they can get their vehicle moving again in like, half an hour. If we can fix it, use the APCs to form a protective ring in case the sniper is still around until repairs are finished. If not, leave behind the Pred and scuttle it too. Hightail it back to base.

Your Predator lets out a final shot that whizzes past the fleeing buggy before it disappears over the hill top. Your heavily damaged grenadier APC takes a few shots at the fleeing rocket squad.

"APC Three, return to convoy." You order. No sense chasing them just to get ambushed again."

"Roger commander." The operator reports, reversing. "Fuck me, Nod in fuckin' Arizona..." You overhear him mutter.

You are inclined to agree. There hasn't been so much as a militant spotted in the past three years and you just got hit by actual hardware. Fucked if you know what it means, but it ain't good.

"Form up round APC 2, bail 'em out." You order as the others return. "Raider 2, full speed towards B-2, I want command fully aware of this and I want Orcas covering us as soon as we're out of the storm. Predator Actual, sit right there until we can give you a perimeter, don't want that sniper taking your head off."

"With pleasure, sir."

The Pitbull takes off as your fireteams burst out of their hatches and rush towards the downed APC. They pry the hatch off it's twisted hinged and start helping out the injured. You count three KIA in the squad, and two heavily wounded. The driver and the gunner ate it too.

"Fuck." You whisper to yourself. The first men you've lost.

The fireteams bring the dead and wounded onboard the grenadiers APC and quickly swarm your Predator while its crew goes to work.

Thankfully, you get the tread on before any more attacks come.

"Alright convoy, let's get rolling, Raider One, give us a mobile perimeter."

Your column starts moving once more, out of the ion storm and back to safe ground, just a few minutes away...

Your convoy is vigilant now. This isn't some Yellow Zone tiberium raid or patrol any more. You've seen Nod. This is something completely different, unlike any of you have seen before. You have no veterans of TW2 with you, and they're the only ones who know what this is really like.

After the longest ten minutes of your life, you breathe a sigh of relief as the rocky hills give way to open, Tiberium spotted desert and the last vestiges of the ion storm fizzle out in the night sky above you. Raider Two is waiting for you on the road ahead, and two Orca fighters hover overhead, finally giving you a sense of security for your final hour on the road as you make your way to the boarder.

The Zone police are wide-eyed and slack-jawed as your bruised and dented vehicles clamber across the defended checkpoint, the harsh buzz of sonic emitters in the background. Another hour and you're into San Diego again, with only a one police car escort to clear the streets now. The little traffic you say gaze at your scarred and melted armor and your bullet-shattered window with more than a amazement and a hint of worry.

Last time you rolled through, you realized, you gunner had joked that he felt like a celebrity, rolling through these streets to the stares of the civilians. You glance through the view port at his bodybag in the compartment behind you. The riflemen are studiously ignoring it, still coming down off their adrenaline high. You turn back with a bad taste in your mouth.

This APC's just a glorified hearse now.
>>
>>24965089
Gotta tell our CO. And now we gotta write letters home.
>>
>>24965089
You turn back into Parker Base at just past midnight, the checkpoint letting you pass without inspection, eyeing the damage worriedly. Your convoy pulls back onto the black asphalt where you left, just over twelve hours ago, with six more men and one more APC, and no kills to your name.

You call up Staff Sergeant Park on your EVA. "Dismiss 'em, Sergeant, wounded to the medics, and get the vehicles to the depot. Carranzo's gonna want one hell of an explanation for this."

"Yes sir, good luck." Park relays your order at double your volume and the fireteams begin to pour out. You slide out of the passenger seat of your APC, noting the new scorch mark on its flank. You pull off your commander's visor and your HUD flickers away as you shut down your EVA.

As you walk towards the Brigadier General's office, you suddenly feel very, very tired.

>contd.
>>
>>24965249
You don't have to wait until his office to see Carranzo. Even though it's 0030 in the morning, the command center is a blaze of activity, Carranzo's powerful voice carrying above it all.

"I don't care if you gotta kiss the ground he walks on, you tell Carville we need the rest of the garrison down here ASAP! We have potential Brotherhood activity he-"

The buzz of noise quickly dies when you enter, and Carranzo spins. "Lieutenant." He greets tersely, returning your salute. "My office."

-

"Well this is sure some fucked up shit son." Carranzo sighs as he takes a seat, fiddling with some compartment or another. "We got the EVA logs updating now, but Jesus Christ just what the fuck happened out there?"

Nod.
>>
>>24965360
Mutants found the pilots, and were in the process of taking two captives. To avoid a firefight we left sharpish after grabbing the black box and spraying the console with bullets.

We found the other orca crash no problem, but hit an ambush of them later. No issues there, some light armor, but overall we were fine.

Then, on our way out of the city, Nod attacked. It was clear it was them, fast bikes, buggys, even men on foot with damned rockets with sniper overwatch. That where we got hurt Sir."
>>
>>24965360
We rescued 4 pilots from Mutants then got ambushed by Nod scouts. Lost some good men but gave more than we took, Sir.
>>
>>24965360
"Everything was going as expected. First Orca we recovered without a fuss. Second one, we got hit by an ambush going in and going out, got dinged up but still okay.
"But on our way back out of the Zone, on the highway, we got hit by a Nod raider group. Textbook Nod tactics, hitting us with a sniper and rocket squad when we got pinned by their bikes and buggies. Fought'em off, but it cost us.

>>
>>24965415
This.
>>
>>24965360
We went in and retrieved the pilots, Sir. dodged one or two possible confrontations with the locals, and shot our way out of two more. No fatal casualties on our side, though the enemy lost several Technicals a pair of light tanks and roughly twice our number of infantry. on the return journy 10 minutes from the edge of the storm we were attacked by a force equipped and fighting like an actual NOD military unit. They had bikes, a buggy, a pair of rocket squads and a sniper. We fought them off, though we took casualties. If I had to guess sir, they either noticed us late or were hoping the mutants would either wear us down or kill us off.
>>
>>24965360
"We got ambushed by mutants midway through the pilot recovery but we fought it off, then on the way back we got hit by a Nod ambush, which is where we got hit hardest, sir."

"I probably should've noticed something was off when the mutants started shooting."

>>24965360
"These weren't just some random Nod raiders. They were organized and they were waiting for us on that road. They KNEW we were out there."

Theorize that mutant warlord is in league with the Brotherhood of Nod somehow.

Also state your firm belief that some manner of Nod activity is going on here. Might bean old cell gone active, might be a sign of something far worse.

The general retrieves a cigar, lights it and take a drag, pursing his lips. "Normally, I'd put this off as old surplus Nod weaponry on some bandits, but I think you're right here. They didn't hit you like bandits, and they were damn organized." He takes inhales on the cigar again. "All I know is, there's gotta be something going on in those hills. Storm'll clear up tomorrow. And when we find something, we'll call Edwards Air Force Base and pound it flat with Firehwaks till it ain't recognizable as part of the former United States of America." He takes a deep breath. Inquire into relations with the mutants. They seem like the only people who could survive in the area naturally, and they might be potential recruits for these "Brothers of Nod." If permission is granted, we'd like to lead the recon team to check out what the hell is out there, and if possible make contact with the mutants to restore relations. If (boy these are a lot of ifs) we do need to undertake extensive action in Arizona, it would help to have the locals on our side. They might even know what's going on.

End with that, ask the men who fought with the dead what they know about fallen, and ask if they'd like to write the letters themselves.

Then, study your ass off on Nod tactics till we get deployed again

Fine. We should ask the soldiers about their friends at the very least.
>>
>>24966211
Disgusting Commie!

We were the commanding officer in charge of that operation, as such it is up to us, or our CO to write letters to next of kin! We cannot shirk this duty and call ourselves a man!

Has your time spent dwelling in caves and living on nothing more than meager rations and hate rendered you incapable of valuing the lives of your comrades?

Oh, and yeah we do need to study Nod tactics. You're right about that.

But AFTER we write letters to the next of kin of our fallen.
>>
>>24966354
You suggest a stupid idea that the MC would immediately view as a stupid idea, and you continue to act in the manner of an avatarfag, and that of someone from Nod while we're playing GDI.
This isn't me, you're just stupid.
>>
>>24966417
Dude chill. We could still ask the other soldiers if any had any additional letters they wanted to include to their friend`s next of kin.
>>
>>24966575
Actually that's a pretty good idea. We should do that.
>>
>>24966417
Calm the fuck down. I was just suggesting that we, a fresh officer, allow the soldiers who have just lost buddies write the letters home to the families of the fallen. It's a nice gesture, and better than "The GDI offers it's condolences for you loss. [INSERT NAME HERE] was a valued squad memember yadadyadyaday"

And if the name fagging chafes you that much, then fine, I'll cut it out and pick something GDI related.
>>
Sorry gents, will be back in twenty, something came up
>>
>>24967041
It's that you namefag at all for no good reason, fag.
>>
>>24967489

Jesus dude, people do it all the times in Quests. If the GM doesn't mind, then sod off, you're just causing trouble.
>>
>>24967553
he's got a point. It can get kind of faggy at times.
>>
>>24967582

Certainly, but going full drama in the quest serves no purpose. If the GM calls for no names, then no names. Otherwise, its not worth bringing up. You dont like what the guy has to say or how he posts, ignore him.
>>
I've never understood why people dislike it so much, I personally would rather see multiple people talking than just anons.
>>
>>24967610
Ignoring him is bad because bad ideas need to be denounced and argued against or they get used. They must be actively opposed both by voting for a better voice and speaking against them so that no part of them can be used.
>>
>>24967653

It can lead to narcissism on the part of the names. I've seen anon get bent out of shape over it for no damn reason just as often. No one is innocent. In my quest, I just treat everyone equally, and there is no tension. Blind to names and trips, but I don't ban them. Really should be up to the QM, and drama is a bad way to express your concerns about it.
>>
>>24967673

True. If you disagree with his ideas, please do speak against them, but the namefagging thing really should be left aside. It's just drama to bring that in.
>>
>>24967653
because it goes counter to the reason you are on 4chan in the first place.
And it oftentimes leads to insular faggotry that is offputting to newcomers and gives quests a bad name.
If you ask me, everyone should be anon in a quest but OP.
>>
>>24967751

I understand your position, but its not your place to lay down rules. If the QM wants to ban it, by all means, but it's his decision. Its not your solemn duty to enforce anonymity on 4chan, friend.
>>
>>24967751
Well, I respetctfully disagree. I was namefagging to express my desire for us to move over to Nod, not realizing that everyone would be strongly against joining the brotherhood, and that OP wanted to a Nod version of this later.

Also, names can be fun. Like this.

>See if Park's around.

You throw a weary salute and exit the general's office. You pass through the command center again, which as has returned to its previous frantic volume, and exit back outside.

The yard is mostly empty, so your trip to the barracks is unnoticed. Park's still awake, completing his mission reports on a tablet, but his troops are mostly lights out.

"Sir." He greets you with another salute.

"At ease Sergeant." He nods and drops his salute. "Pretty fucked up out there today, sir."

You sigh and run your hand through your hair tiredly. "Sure was, Park, sure was."

"You look like shit, LT."

You manage a thin smile. "Better than some of the boys we brought back."

Park gives a half shrug. "They knew what they signed up for. Just like I did. Just like you did. Sometimes its just not your day."

"Did they really?" You wonder aloud, plopping yourself down into a folding chair next to Park. "Did they really know what they signed up for? You said that I knew what I signed up for, but I'm telling you right now that's shit. I thought we won man, everyone did. Two world wars, Nod was dead and gone, that's what they taught us. I didn't join up for that shit out there today, hell I didn't expect to fire my goddamn weapon, I joined up for a college degree, I expected to join InOps, not get a command." You sigh. " Sometimes I ain't sure what I signed up for, but it wasn't that. And neither did those boys we lost out there today. Those boys I lost out there today."

There's a long silence before Park speaks again. "Well you may not have joined up for that, sir, but if you ask me you sure as hell were born for it. Or was it someone else who completed half the mission without firing a shot? Someone else who killed three muties with their own weapons? Cause I don't know what that guy signed up for, but he sure looked fine out there to me."

>wat say?
>>
>>24968413
Thank Park, and ask him about the soldiers we lost
>>
>>24968413

"You rest up, Park. I'll need friends like you if I'm going to have any chance at all."

Time to hit the books - study everything we know about Nod tactics. We should also get in contact with our intelligence contact and ask them what the fuck a Nod squad is doing in Arizona.

Also, CABAL, don't get discouraged if there are arguments within the thread - they tend to happen when the quest runner leaves for an extended period of time, don't take it personally.
>>
>>24968413
Thank him first, then tell him to get some sleep.
And then also go to bed.
>>
>>24968469

It's around 4 am on the East Coast where your intelligence conference, an old ex-girlfriend of yours from ROTC, works and there's no way in hell she's telling you a damn thing if you wake her up at that time.

>>24968454
>>24968494

You give Park a smile a more real one this time.

"Thanks Sergeant." You reply after a moment of silence. "Good to know someone believes in me more than I do."

"Somebody's got to whip your Ivy League ass into combat material. I just picked the short straw." He smirks.

"About ours KIAs... if you could get me their files... Carranzo said he'll handle their letters but I'd... like to do something. I don't know what, next time I get some free time."

Park nods knowingly. "Yes sir, I'll send 'em your way. Night sir."

"Night Sergeant."
>>
>>24968454
I think we should wait on the letters until the morning after we've had some rest. For now, we should hit the sack.
>>
Should I stop it there or continue onto the next mission? I can get another hour or two easily if we've got enough people.
>>
>>24968645
I'm game.
>>
>>24968645
Bring it on cap'n.
>>
>>24968645
I'm up for it if you are
>>
>>24965249
>the checkpoint letting you pass without inspection
Oh god we need to report that. Not to be a hardass or anything, but you're fucking gate guards, it is your goddamn JOB to inspect everyone, so that Nod can't sneak a truckload of Fanatics through the gate and fuck up the base.
>>
>>24968790
That stood out to me, too.
>>
>>24968790

It's mostly because a GDI patrol in peacetime came back from a Yellow Zone beaten halfway to hell. You had already confirmed everything with command after to came out of the storm and you had an Orca escort and everything. In wartime that would be a big breach of protocol but given the circumstances it wasn't really a big deal, especially because they ran the sonic emitters over you to keep you clean from tib-infection.

---

You wake sharply at 1000, your alarm blaring over an hour late compared to your usual time. Bleary eyed, you tap its screen until you find the message -ALARM TIME ADJUSTED BY ORDER OF BRIGADIER GENERAL CARRANZO. ADDITIONAL ORDERS: REPORT TO GENERAL'S OFFICE BY 1100-

You say a silent prayer of thanks and rise. The officer's mess is even emptier than usual today, ad you make liberal use of the microwave on the remaining food, eventually consuming several plates of bacon and waffles and two cups of coffee while reading the news online.

You are well-recovered from the previous day's trauma by the time you present yourself at the general's door. You're fairly certain the volume of the command center has yet to decrease, and you're almost certain some of those people have been there since you saw them at 0100.

The general is furiously managing a tablet when you enter and salute, but he waves you off. He sighs as you sit, still not looking up from his tablet when he speaks.

"I'm sorry to do this to you LT, but looks like you're headed out into that hellzone again. Captain Davies is still at Rodgers base for the wargames and they ain't given us shit for reasons I still can't understand. Something about operational capacity being more important than a border incident or some bullshit. You're the only Strike Commander on base, so believe when I say that if I could put it on someone else I would."

>Wat say?
>>
>>24968872
"What's the mission, sir?"
Time to go to work.
>>
>>24968919
This. Don't got time to fuck around.
>>
>>24968872
"Maybe you should not so subtly imply that he'll be trapped behind his desk with paperwork if he doesn't grab his ball and come home."
>>
>>24968919
>>24968931

"What's the mission sir?" You ask firmly. You're ready for payback.

"Lot of the stuff's still at the depot from that ambush last time, and we can't let the base go undermanned so this mission will be heavily based off your ability to move unnoticed."

He flicks something on his tablet and the screen behind his flashes with the GDI logo, before digitalizing into a blue map of the Arizona Yellow Zone. A wide area is highlighted in bright pink, the hilly area in which you were ambushed.

"We ran Sky Sentry through that area, and we're picking up low levels on geothermically dispersed energy. It'd be beneath our notice unless we specifically were looking for it. Nod bases often do this to avoid detection. So we have a an almost thirty square mile zone in these hills where the base could be."

The general kills the feed and faces you fully. "Now luckily, we that ion storm's cleared out, so you won't be doing the fighting here. We want you to take a couple of APC's and infantry out there and identify the base without being scene. Tag it and take any the SAM sites if you can. If you remove the anti-air we can call up a flight from Edwards and wipe that shit stain off the map, otherwise we'll have to requisition an ion cannon and that could take a week. I want this done with as soon as possible. Any questions?"

>You heard him. Questions?
>>
>>24969031
Anything terrain wise I should know about before sending in the boys?
>>
>>24969031
Question what's camo like for our infantry? How good can we actually sneak around?
The base doesn't have any snipers ATM but could some of our guys borrow a few ghillie suits?
>>
>>24969031
I'd like it if we had more than just a couple of APCs. A predator and squad of zone troopers would make this a hell of a lot easier. Nod won't sit on their asses if we try and take their anti-air out.
>>
>>24969075
>>24969099
>>24969135

"Anything special I need to know about the terrain sir?"

"Rocky, hilly, and annoying as hell. You should've seen the campaigns we had to fight in the Mexican highlands back in TW2..." He shudders. "Ugly ground. Easy to hole up in. But you're getting around that for us. You'll probably have to ditch those APCs for at least a portion of the mission and continue on foot."

"As for the suits, I managed to get you a miracle. Zone troopers are still off the table, god knows why, apparently they're more needed in the war games than the actual Yellow Zones they were made for." He sighs, angrily, before smiling. "But I did get that bastard Carville to release us a sniper team. You got all you really need to turn those hills into one big kill zone. If there's anything that base won't be prepared for, it's us being stealthy."
>>
>>24969166
Aside from the snipers, do we get any special equipment to take the SAMs offline? We could blow them up, but that would be loud. Remote detonation explosives or a few combat engineers might be better.
>>
>>24969266
Seconding
>>
>>24969266
Carranzo nods. "You'll be issued C4 charges for remote detonation, but don't blow them until you have to call in the 'Hawks. Don't want to blow your cover."

"Remember though, if it gets to hot, just tag the place and get out. We'll hit it from orbit next time we can. Anything else?"

"No sir." You reply. There's a fire in your heart now. These bastards caught you by surprise yesterday. This time it'll be other way around. Nobody fucks with your men and gets away with it.

>Gonna have to leave off there for tonight folks.
>Quest'll be up and running around 3-4pm Pacific Time, see you then
