You navigate to his hunting records, and see a long and illustrious list of trophies bought back from various hunts. You see a variety of impressive trophies including large beasts and ferocious strains of hard-meat from all corners of the galaxy. Your mother, however, annotated each instance with additional references to hunting expeditions from other prominent hunters of Clan Night-Prowler from the same timeframe. You notice similarities.

"Elite hunter Lightning-Sheath clears out an infestation and two days later our fleet-master gets his hands on a praetorian trophy. Elite hunter Worthy-Sword visits a jungle world and three days later our fleet-master shows a large reptilian trophy. He's taking others' trophies!"

Your mother clicks thoughtfully. "Yes. Blackmail? Close relations? Bribes? I'm not certain. But still, no direct evidence."

You finish reading the dossier, somewhat disturbed.

Your mother looks at you expectantly.

I am saying our Mother did digging by herself and was to discover that the Night-Powlers are creating a secret fleet then sure as hell the Matriarchs already knew about this. But they are keeping quiet for certain reasons. Not saying that the Night-Powlers are going rogue, but all the other clans might be treating them as a necessary evil for some reason in the future.
