LAST TIME ON GUNDAM AGE QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Gundam%20AGE%20Quest

Your name is Jake Crocker, you are 15 years old and the pilot/owner of the AGE-X Crusader Gundam. After incident involving killing your substitute teacher (who was a spy and he kind of killed himself) you and your father were forced into hunting down the mutineer ((((( with the greenhorn crew of the Darwin Class ship “Armstrong”. However you ended up allying yourself with him to prepare to destroy a U.E. fortress, discovering that the U.E. weren’t aliens but vengeful, genocidal Martian colonists who were left to die by the Federation.

After drawing up plans to upgrade the Armstrong you and Tim left for the Grave Yard asteroid/junk field in search of the pirates.

You have just woken from a refreshing nap. Tim is piloting the shuttle and informs you the Grave Yard is still an hour or so away.

What will you do?

So, we're entering the unknown area of space that wasn't mapped, is littered with pirates, asteroids and destroyed ships, and is covered in some mist that does strange things to machinery.
We're going to run into something nasty out there, aren't we? Some ancient war machine, or a long forgotten colony. Or a combination of the two.

For now, let's check out what we can pick up on the way back. Maybe some old tech or something. Expect an ambush.
>>
I agree that we should look to see what can be salvaged, but we have no way to bring it back. Unless the pirates decide to store it for us.
At the moment let's just wait with Ma G for when the fecal matter inevitably hits the fan.
>>
>>24846156
There is probably a lot of junk in the field, ether raw scrap or left over weaponry or maybe even tech. However you don't have anything to collect the scrap in, the shuttle is already pretty cramped as is.

You decide to try and keep an eye out and stay inside the Gundam in case anything goes wrong.

"Are you nervous?" Tim asks, as they are 20 minutes away from the Grave Yard.
>>
>>24846463

could we not use one of the suits Mag-Clamps to stand outside of the shuttle and carry any interesting tech? or we could tie it to the shuttle...
>>
>>24846493
(Magnetic Clamps? The Crusader doesn't have those)
>>
>>24846463
"A little bit, yeah. I mean, this is one of the most mysterious regions in the system. No one knows what's going on here."
"But at the same time, I'm so frigging excited. What about you?"

If we find something interesting, we could tie it to the ship. Or have MaG scan it and make schematics based on it.

>>
On another note that image is a pretty good indicator of the future. Desil and Flit will no doubt fight for her attention, though for two entire different reasons.
>>
>>24846545

wait. You are telling me that the Mobile Suits can't stand on ship hulls. Even the Prototype Zaku I's could stand on ship hulls...
This is something that we need to deal with once we get back. MagClamps for the 'feet' of each suit. that way, they can stand on surfaces in Zero-G...
>>
>>24846585
Desil is going to cock block Flit from getting too chummy with his 'big sister' isn't he? Well, beats trying to kill him.

>>24846557
You keep your sensors peeled for any interesting junk or wreckage, even if you can't carry it back you could tag it with a beacon for later.

>"A little bit, yeah. I mean, this is one of the most mysterious regions in the system. No one knows what's going on here. But at the same time, I'm so frigging excited. What about you?"

"I'm kind of excited but this place sounds like it's creepy as hell. The mist there is a mix of heavy metal particles, leaked plasma fuel and whole lot of other stuff. It'll be a bitch to see and it'll cut our effective sensor and communication range in half. If we get separated from the ship we'll probably get lost. Besides, these pirates are probably going to be rather bad news..."

"Hey, they didn't kill us when they had the chance. Besides they owe me a favor and we need all the help we can get. These guys hate the U.E. and when they find out there just humans, they're gonna be pissed." You try to stay positive, besides they're pirates and that's awesome!

You reach the edge of the Grave Yard. The mist is so thick you can barely see 2 meters into the cloud. Faint shapes and odd shadows linger in the white 'mist'.

What is your plan of action Jake?
>>
>>24846765

Keep it slow and steady. We don't want any debris damaging the hull.
>>
>>24846765
Broadcast a message to the surrounding area stating your purpose.
>>
>>24846765
Carefully move in. Can we use some sort of sonar to detect incoming debris?

Also, broadcast the message to captain whats-his-name.
I don't know why, I kinda hope the pirate captain to be Hulk Hogan.
>>
Do we have any cable? we could tie the Gundam to the shuttle and have it move in front to clear the way...
>>
How's this for eventually salvaging the debris field - we create a huge, remotely controlled magnet.
Once deployed, it'll draw to itself all the nearby metal, and we salvage those instead of going after salvage piece by piece.
>>
>>24846827
(Sonar works using sound and there isn't any sound in space).
You decide to take it nice and slow asking Tim to start a slow approach into the mist as you begin to broadcast a signal.

"This is Jake Crocker. I'm here looking for the pirates who owe me a favor. I'd rather not get shot, lost or killed out here so if your hearing this send a response or at the very least, don't shoot"

You record it and set it on repeat. Ten minutes later and there's no respond. On top of that the derie seems to get bigger and bigger as you go into the Grave Yard.

>>24846970

"We've got cable don't we? I'll lash it around my Gundam and tie it to the ship so I can help clear the way" You say getting out and doing so.

"Alright, just be careful!" Tim warns as you begin to move scrap and rocks from the ship's path. After an hour or so your encountering the remains of ships, or at least they were ships. Some are so melted and warped they look like rocks.

You encounter a rather large but mostly intact ship/rock in the path of the ship. You can't move it out of the way, but you could probably go around it. However it would be a shame to just forget about it...

What will you do Jake?
>>
>>24847402

Boarding Party?

I think Boarding Party...
>>
>>24847402
>You encounter a rather large but mostly intact ship/rock in the path of the ship.
>it would be a shame to just forget about it...
Sounds like you want us to investigate, OP.
Why the hell not. Let's check it out on he Gundam.
>>
>>24847402
I was mostly thinking about emitting some sort of signal, waiting for it to bounce back to us from the debris and map that.
But then again, that's basically a radar, so screw that idea.

Let's investigate that Space Hulk.
>>
>>24847450
(Oh no I was just speaking from Jake's perspective. I mean you guys have made it clear he loves new toys and this place is basically like an old toybox. Not trying to force you into anything)
>>
>>24847402
This is /tg/ you can't just place a wreckage and not expect us to explore it.
>>
>>24847501

once again, a small bit of fluff is latched onto by the Hivemind and an entire plot arc is created around it...
>>
>>24847501
I've got no problem with that assessment. There's no way Jake isn't going to try to do at least a bit of salvaging. I mean, come on, our very first thought entering this place was "Hey, I wonder if there's anything we can loot". Nothing wrong with writing to the audience's expectations. Let's get as far into the ship as we can without it being a major inconvenience. How strong is out tether cable? I'd hate for it go get snagged on something and break.
>>
>>24847627
We know from the teaser at the end of the last thread that there's something waiting for us in the Grave Yard. Might as well help it along by poking into old ruins.
>>
>>24847501
Yeah, but we're also pressed for time here.
If Jake sees something particularly interesting, like something that could potentially improve our survival chances at Ambat, then we should absolutely check it out.
>>
>>24847661
(Pretty damn strong, it'd take a heat weapon or a beam saber to break it)

>>24847498

"Tim, dock beside this thing I want to take a look inside" You say, looking over the ancient ship in awe.

"Really? Alright, just don't blame me if you get attacked and impregnated by real aliens like in that one movie..." He warns as he pulls the shuttle alongside the ship.

You set your Gundam down on the back of the shuttle and get out of the cockpit. You can fly around thanks to a vernier pack mounted around your waist like a fanny pack, it's standard equipment for pilots in space. You have enough plasma fuel for 15 minutes of continuous burn before they give out. You also have a small cutting torch and a pistol.

The ship is large, 500 meters long, 120 meters high. It's hull is relatively intact but there are breaches here and there. You could try using one of it's old maintaince hatches to get inside properly, or you could go in through one of the holes or any other way you can think of.

How do you want to proceed Jake?
>>
>>24847723
Head down a maintenance hatch. Maybe it will lead to the engines.

You decide to use the maintenance hatch. You go for the one at the back end of the ship to see if you can get into the engine rooms. You find the hatch and open it, it's not easy to get it open. However you can tell the mechanisms are still working, but the power is probably offline. Closing the door you proceed into the ship.

Turning on the lights built into your helmet you make your way through the tight hallway until you come to a large open room. Your questions on if the ship was still sealed or not have been answered. Corpses float, frozen and preserved in the freezing vacuum.

The engine room is trashed, but there aren't any holes indicating external causes. Upon closer examination you realize that half the bodies in the room are engineers wearing nothing but jumpsuits and the others appear to be the remains of a boarding party of sorts.

What will yo do?
>>
>>24847993
What's the engine's status? Can we turn this thing on?

>>

>If only we had skillpoints in autopsy.
We've got to start somewhere. A few weeks ago we were just some schlub. Now we're an ace pilot. Let's add coroner to our list of qualifications.

Seriously, though, it couldn't hurt to take a closer look at them. At the very least looking at the uniforms should tell us whose ship this is.
>>
>>24848121
>Now we're an ace pilot.
In all honesty, Ma G does most of the work. We're at 35% piloting skill and she gives us a +40%.
>>
>>24848172
Shhh! Our enemies don't need to know that. As far an anyone knows we are a prodigy of incredible skill.
>>
>>24848063
>>24848023
You check the engines. They don't seem all that damaged, probably why the ship wasn't blown in two. However the control systems are shot to shit, large caliber rounds in monitors, through keyboards and panels. The damn consoles look like metallic Swiss cheese. It would take weeks to repair all the damage in just this one room. On top of that the main reactor is dead, the sub-reactor appears to be OK and is supply power to systems that aren't cut off from it.

>>24848063
>>24848081
>>24848121
You take a closer look at the corpses. The engineers are wearing jumpsuits and appear to be from the Federation, but the style of the uniform indicates these guys were part of the old Federation. Half appear to be dead from wounds, the others seem to have asphyxiated from the hull breach.

The corpses wearing pilot suits appear to be what's left of a rebel boarding party. Large holes in their suits seem to suggest that the engineers were pretty well armed. All of the rebels died from wounds from what you can tell. You search down the corpses but don't find anything useful outside of old firearms and some personal items, nothing of real interest.

What will you do now Jake?
>>
>>24848363

Go to the Armoury. There is a chance that it hasn't been completely emptied yet...
failing that, try the bridge. Captain might have something interesting...
>>
>>24848363
It's a Federation ship, so we should be able to procure the black box.
>>
>>24848363
Check out the armory. These weapons are probably more advanced than those we have with us.
After that, check if you can find the black box.
>>
>>24848363
Head to the bridge. We may be able to salvage the black box.
>>
>>24848363
I'd like to see if we can find the black box. It would probably be in either the computer core or the bridge. I say hit up the bridge first. Mostly I just want to know what happened to this ship that it was left in the debris field with no attempt made to recover the crew's bodies.
>>
Look for name tags. Like Sargent Arthur.
>>
>>24848469

>>
>>24848534

>>24848422
You decide to head for the bridge to investigate a little more. You're sure the black box is in the computer core, but the bridge might have some more answers. When you get there, you find that it's not a pretty sight. The roof of the bridge has several gaping holes in it, but there too small to be cannon or beam holes. The dead federation crew members still stuck in their chairs and more dead rebels in pilot suits suggested they blew holes in the hull with explosives and tried to take the bridge.

It appears to have failed as you see a corpse in the captains chair holding what can only be described as a three barreled assault rifle. His lack of wounds and his deformed corpse suggests he probably died from asphyxiation after blowing the boarding party to bits.

The computer systems are damaged so you can't access any info from here, however they seem to show the computer core is still operational.

What will you do now Jake? Go to the core?

>>24848809
You check the captain's corpse and find an all assess keycard for the ship. This should get you where you want to go if you run into any working locks.

>>24848741
>>24848742
You head to the core. Unlike the other parts of the ship, this part seems relatively intact. No breaches or damage so far. You come to a locked door but thanks to your hindsight, you use the pilfered keycard to unlock it.

You enter a large, cylinder shaped room. A large, monolithic like computer stretches from the floor, all the way to the ceiling. The computer core is still online and appears to be in working order but it's locked. You'll need to hack it to gain access to it.

"I cannot tell you enough how important this mission is. The war is coming to a close and with the peace treaty a month away, we must do our best to stop any last minute attempts by the rebels to re-ignite this conflict. We have been tasked with escorting a thrown together mobile armor carrying a database. Even I have not been told what it contains or will contain our objective is the same regardless. We are to follow the mobile armor to it's secret designation and make sure it gets there safely. In the event we are destroyed, the mobile armor will continue without us. In the event it is destroyed or looks like it will be captured, we are to destroy the database it carries. We cannot allow the rebels to get ahold of this database and we must protect it to the last man. Our mission path will take us from our HQ in Zarth, to Minsry, through a debris field and then we will follow the MA to the destination only it has been given. Hopefully the rebels will be too busy plotting terrorist attacks to bother with. I pray we can all return home to our families"~ Captain M. Hathaway. July 4th, 2999 A.D.
(UPDATE)
"Those fuckers attacked us just after we left Minsry. They came in full force led by the Black Raven himself. Thank god Arthur was there to hold him off, if he had gotten through we would have all been killed. Sadly we lost our entire mobile suit compliment in the battle, Arthur stayed behind to keep them busy long enough for us and this blasted M.A. to escape. Everyone from FART is dead, save for Ensign Touchdown who had to be put into a cold sleep due to his wounds. We'll continue through the debris field as planned, this MA should be able to protect us from any further attacks." ~ Captain M. Hathaway. July 4th, 2999 A.D.

You reach under the console and pull out what looks like a brown metallic basketball. Upon closer examination it looks like a giant rolled up metal pillbug. Thinking on it, this thing reminds you a little bit of that thing Flit had with him. Haro was it?

This thing is about the same size, only it looks like it’s supposed to uncurl and walk around, you can see dozens of tiny little legs on its belly and a mono-eye on its head. You unscrew a back panel and reseat the RAM and Backup RAM. After placing the cover back on the little machine comes to life. It unfurls and drops out of your hands, scurrying around on the floor for a moment before turning and facing you. It lifts it's head off the floor and standson its hind quarters to look at you. It’s tiny green mono-eye trailing back and forth before focusing on you.

What will you do Jake?

Say hello and hope it doesn't have any built in "surprises".
>>
>>24850127
...pet him?
"Aw, who's a cute little bugger? You are! Yes, you are!"
"Who are you, little guy? What's your job here?"
>>
>>24850127
Well, we're in vacuum, so it can't hear us. We've got a Federation-regulation vacuum suit on, so it might register our transponder as friendly. But that's a bit of a stretch. Can we try to contact it on our suit radio?
>>
>>24850127
Extend hand for it to shake.
>>
>>24850196
You think about petting it and talking to it, but you realize it probably can't hear you in the vacuum. You decide to try and speak to it after seeing it wasn't armed or all that hostile looking.

"Hello? My name is Jake Crocker, I'm a part of the Federation." You say over multiple channels. Your about to give up after a few minutes of silence, then you hear a series of beeps over the comm from the little machine.

".... . .-.. .-.. --- .-.-.- .. .- -- -- .. -.. .-.-.- .--. .-.. . .- ... ..- .-. . - --- -- . . - -.-- --- ..- .-.-.- -- .- -.-- .. .- ... -.- .-- .... .- - .... .- ... .... .- .--. .--. . -. . -.. ..--.. "

What will you do Jake?
>>

>>
>>24850352
Point to self and make some sort of sign that indicates everything has blown up, and then let it access the logs.
>>
>>24850387
Your history lessons serve you well. Morse Code is still used, just not as common. It's possible the little machine can't properly speak over comms. You list to the beeps and make out what it's saying to you.

>"HELLO.I AM MID.PLEASURE TO MEET YOU.MAY I ASK WHAT HAS HAPPENED?"

"That ship has been destroyed and you've been offline for 116 years or so" You reply with a frown.

The little machine pauses for a moment before replying.

"HOW WORRYING. MAY I JOIN YOU THEN FRIENDLY FEDERATION PILOT?"

What do you say Jake?
>>
>>24850352
Take a few moments to mentally translate the Morse code, realize it said "Hello. I am MID. Pleasure to meet you. May I ask what has happened?" If it seems improbable that Jake could get it that quickly, I'm sure we could explain it as asking Ma G to translate it for us.

Then respond with "You've been offline for a while. I'm not sure exactly how long, but the last undamaged entry in the ship's log is in a calendar no longer used, so it's been at least 15 years. It looks like your ship got ambushed by rebel forces while you were offline for repairs. I don't think anyone survived. There's mention of someone in cryostasis, but I haven't checked on him yet. I haven't seen any wreckage suggesting the package you were delivering was delivering was destroyed, so I don't know what happened to that."
>>
>>24850352
That's odd. It seems to understand, but that morse code seems cumbersome. Can we fix the primary communications function?

>>
>>24850473
Explain how a machine can find something 'worrying.'
>>
>>24850491
You give MID a little look over and realize he's pretty simple in terms of some of his hardware. It looks like you'll have to upgrade him if you want him to speak.

>>24850508
>"Sure you can tag along, as long as you don't blow anything up"
"MID CANNOT PROMISE ANYTHING BUT WILL REFRAIN FROM DOING SO"

>>24850516
"Yes. Could you tell me what your function is?"
>"FUNCTION? NO FUNCTION. I AM MID AND I AM HERE TO HELP ARTHUR. ARTHUR NOT HERE, BUT YOU SEEM FAMILIAR. I GO WITH YOU AND HELP YOU.

>>24850510
> "Sure thing. I'm still exploring the ship's wreckage. Could you help me find my way around?"

"YES I CAN HELP. SHIP EASY TO NAVIGATE. WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO?"

Where do you want to go Jake? You guess the cryotubes would probably be in the infirmary or a special room. The map doesn't label any specific room though, just the barracks, Infirmary, armory, bridge, mess hall, computer core and engine room.
>>
>>24850637
Lets locate the cryo chambers.
>>
>>24850637
"The cryo-pods are in the infirmary, right?"
Let's go to the armory first. We might find something useful there. After that, to the infirmary.
>>
>>24850637
head to the infirmary
"he mid, tell me about this guy Arthur"
>>
>>24850637
Check the barracks first, then mess hall and armory. The guy in coldsleep is supposed to be heavily injured. Jake will want to get out of there after he wakes Touchdown up.
>>
>>24850637
Has Jake looked at the crew manifest? Maybe he should get a copy, just in case.
>>
>>24850860
Agreed. Let's check that first, and then move on to exploring.
>>
>>24850831
I assumed we wouldn't wake him up here. We don't have nearly the facilities we need. We're probably just going to take the pod with us and open it later.
>>
>>24850903
True. Still better to get everything else done before checking the pod.
>>
>>24850637
Infirmary is a likely spot.

Also, can we ask MID about Ma G? If he's Arthur's robot buddy he probably interacted with the Gundam's AI. It could be interesting to see how he reacts to reuniting with old MADNUG. Though it could also be potentially sad if it leads him to thinking about Arthur's death.
>>
>>24850860
You've already backed up all the files on the ships memory core.
>CREW MANIFEST
Starting Crew as of July 4th 100 men, 40 women.
Crew as of May 14th 32 men, 8 women.
The lists of the men and women are all listed out, the ones who died before the ship was taken out have their deaths marked down. Sergeant Arthur is listed as MIA.

>>24850831
You go to the barracks first, led by MID. This part of the ship has the most holes in it. You check every room to find bodies and personal items littered about. A lot of the crew members died in their beds, a peaceful way to go considering the ship was taken by surprise.

You find Sargent Arthur's room. You throw everything you can find into a box and take it with you, throwing up the mattress overs and pulling out the desk drawers to make sure you didn't miss anything. Some of the items include photos, a diary, a data drive, a model mobile suit toy and a lot of porno mags and old videogames.

Next you go to the messhall. Not so many bodies here, a couple in the kitchen but not much else. Grease and other nasty items float around due to the gravity block having long since stopped moving. Outside of some archic food, half finished meals and frozen corpses you don't find anything of interest.

>>24850700
You decide to head to the armory next With MID's help and the map, you manage to walk straight there. However what you find is disappointing. Several large holes were blown in the back of the armory, some scorching and the lack of most of the other half of the room suggests some of the ammo cooked off and exploded, the rest got sucked out into space.

>>24850980

Last but not least was the infirmary. On the way there you ask MID about Ma G and Arthur.

"ARTHUR AND I HAVE BEEN FRIENDS SINCE I WAS BORN. MOMA AND PAPA GAVE ME TO HIM SO I COULD HELP HIM WIN THE WAR. MA G WAS SCARY THOUGH. SHE USED TO YELL AT ME A LOT FOR WANTING TO PLAY WITH ARTHUR."

(Cont)
>>
>>24851084
>MA G

You mean MADNUG. We gave her the name Ma G because it was easier to say.
>>
>>24851100
(Yes, I meant MADNUG. Not Ma G. Sorry)
>>
>>24851084
Aww, he saw the Asunos as his parents. That's adorable. Okay, when we get back to Minsry we have to introduce him to Flit as his uncle.
>>
>>24851164
Er, by which I mean, we should tell Flit that MID is his uncle, not the other way around.
>>
Arthur is our relative, isn't he?
>>
>>24851084
You try not to bring up the fact Arthur has probably long since died of old age or was killed in battle. MID seems pretty damn chipper all things considered.
>>24851177
Still, he might be happy to know he has an uncle now anyway and if Haro is at all 'related' to him, he has a little brother.

You reach the infirmary and look around. It's empty, probably because the doctor was dead back in his room in the barracks. Shattered glass, bottles of long since outdated drugs and other medical equipment and supplies fill the room. At the back wall a row of coffin like tubes with glass fronts sit.

Walking up to them you see that all but one are empty. This is likely the one that contains Mr. Touchdown.

What will you do?
>>
>>24851263
Possibly.
>>
>>24851276
See if it can't be made to move. Unhooking him may end badly.
>>
>>24851276
Check his medical charts.

Ask MID if there is any safe way to take him out.
>>
>>24851276
Examine his status. We should probably bring him to the shuttle, considering how there's no way to help him out here.
Can we move the cryo-pod without disabling it?
>>
>>24851276

We're in zero-g. We can move his cryo-pod back to the ship along with our salvage.

Let's get it lit up. The cryopod is probably kept dark, cool and with the glass polarized to prevent any thermal or UV damage getting in. Once we do that, look in at Mr. Touchdown.

I hope he has a pompadour. He could teach us so much about beam saber combat if that was the case.
>>
>>24851328
Not if it's very massive. Just because it's weightless doesn't mean it isn't bulky.
>>
>>24851362
He could be the hero this land deserves.
>>
>>24851380
No. No more heroes.
>>
>>24851362
His first name isn't Travis though.
>>
>>24851469
We don't know his first name.
>>
>>24851469
His first name wasn't mentioned in the reports.
>>
>>24851362
Yes. Mellis could end up leaving us for him, though, because he's rad as fuck and not her friend.
Which could end up turning us from the lovable and awesome Jake into the motherfucking Lordgenome.
>>
>>24851305
The Cryopods appear to be self-sustaining units. They do require power to transmit health information, but disconnecting them should not endanger the sleepers life. There are several latches that could be undone to move the cryopod around.

The pod is bulky, but you could easily navigate it back to the ship without too much trouble.

Would you like to bring the cryopod of Mr. T.Touchdown back to back to the ship?
>>
>>24851520
>>24851526
Oh. What does "Ensign" mean, then?
>>
>>24851615
Take the man home. It's the least we could do.
>>
>>24851628
Agreed. Let's call Tim over and tell him to open up the cargo bay so we can load him on ship.
>>
>>24851615
>T. Touchdown
Yep. Prepare for exposing Jake to the biggest weeaboo in the galaxy.
Let's help the guy out. Bring him back to the ship with MID, and Arthur's stuff.
>>
>>24851621
It's a rank.
>>
>>24851621
It's a rank. It's second from the bottom in the naval chain of command, right above midshipman.
>>
>>24851615
Bring him, but don't wake him up until Jake gets back to the Armstrong. This is the wrong time and place to deal with a cryofrozen soldier.
>>24851621
'Ensign' is a naval rank.

Off-topic: how well does Vagan armor withstand explosive weaponry? Could chain-mines or Panzerfausts crack Vagan plas-steel and EM armor?
>>
I don't suppose that the MA is still on board?
>>
>>24851715
Pretty sure the MA they're talking about is Sid. Which means it's currently holed up in an asteroid somewhere. Which is good. It's ridiculously powerful and nowhere near friendly. At this point in the timeline we don't have any weapons that could harm it.
>>
>>24851759
Or maybe we do. Remember, it actually evolves. If we catch it early enough in its developmental phase, we MIGHT be able to take it.

But yeah, it's Sid. Best not push our luck.
>>
>>24851362
(Mr. T.Touchdown does have a pompadore, he appears to be in his early 20's, has white skin and a tall, skinny frame. Can't see his eyes as they are closed.)
>>24851309
You check his medical charts. He had a concussion and some internal bleeding from expose to high G-forces during mobile suit combat. Treatment is possible, but it's noted he's being frozen until they can get to a proper medical facility.

>>24851656
>>24851660
"Tim is there enough room in the cabin for a coffin, a cardboard box and a robot?" You ask as you pick up and move the cryopod out of the infirmary.

"...What!?" Tim asks, not having a god damn clue what your talking about.

"I found a cryopod, a robot and some stuff and I'm bringing it back to the ship. Do we have room?" You repeat again.

"Yeah, I guess so..."

You get the stuff back to the ship without a problem. After tying the cryopod to the floor you take a seat and let out a deep breath, Mid scurrying around the floor and looking around the tiny cabin of the ship.

You spent two hours inside the ship, what would you like to do now Jake?
>>
>>24851837
Continue forward through the graveyard, continually broadcasting the message. Chat up Tim to pass the time.
>>
>>24851811
True. It seems less durable in Memories of Sid than it does in its fight against the Legilis, so we could do some damage at this point. But probably not enough. Before the evolution in Memories of Sid it still manages to take out Asemu, who had a superior mobile suit to ours and is the SUPAH PIRATO. So, yeah, let's hope we don't encounter it at all.
>>
>>24851837
Can Jake take a look at that data drive he picked up from Sargent's room? If so, take a look at it.
>>
>>24851837
get the fuck out of here this place is way too creepy, besides the faster we get back to our ship the better
>>
>>24851871
This. And don't forget to introduce MID. I want to see if he can talk properly when he's in atmosphere.
>>
>>24851907
Haven't found the pirates yet.
>>
>>24851923
then lets find them and get out.
>>
>pirate location is called graveyard
> Gundam Seed universe has a location of the same name, full of data drives recording artisan skills that reach grandmaster level. This is also where Lowe Gear learned how to reforge the Gerbera Straight katana his Red Frame is famous for.
We are in technology central, people. If we can convince the pirates to let independent researchers in to salvage stuff, Earth Tech in general can make wings of light speed advancement.
>>
>>24852070
And Sid will kill anyone who gets too close to the database. The pirates are far from the worst danger here.
>>
>>24852070
Oh god, I hope this isn't the future of the Seed continuity. Cosmic Era technology would be amazing to have, but I really don't want to have all that nonsense as part of our history, even if it would be some 900 years ago. Only if we're willing to pretend that Seed Destiny never happened would that be okay.

"Hello" The tiny machine says in a clearly synthetic, but clear voice.

"Oh, er Hi" Tim says with a little wave.

>>24851871
You go further and further into the Grave Yard. Over the next 8 hours you explain what you've done to MID and what your trying to do. He seems very happy to go along with you, even more happy when he discovers about his "Uncle" Flit.

You quickly grow bored and worried, but before ether you or Tim can suggest giving up a voice comes over the radio.

"Are you the boy looking for Captain Blackmarsh?" It asks

"Yeah. I need to talk with him."

"...Alright, follow pur mobile suits. Try anything funny and we'll light you up."

Two Shaldolls fly up from underneath the ship and lead the way.

After a few minutes of flying you reach the pirate's base and it's pretty impressive. It's the back end of a destroyed colony, patched and repaired with broken ships, and chunks of hollowed out asteroids. It looks over your small shuttle like some kind of giant whale. Numerous ships, mobile suits and containers sit in numerous docks scattered over the face of the massive structure.

"Welcome to the Boneyard kiddies, our other boss wants to talk to you before you see Blackmarsh" The Shaldoll pirates explain, leading you into a hanger.

You land, advise MID to stay with Ma G, get out and are promptly escorted by several armed men along with Tim through the maze of rooms and hallways to what appears to be some kind of gym.
One of the armed men steps up to someone lifting weights.

"Boss, it's that kid the Captain told us about. We brought him like you asked."

The man sets his weights down and stands up. He is a huge bear of a man, standing 6, 7 with a muscular body matching that of a professional athlete or a wrestler. He’s in his late 20’s, has long blond hair, a horseshoe mustache and light blue eyes. He wears a black t-shirt, a black bandanna with a skull and crossbones on it and a pair of worn out red shorts.

Standing up he looks down at you and asks “Are you the kid who killed the scumbag who killed my men?” he asks.

I'd just like to personally thank you for killing that son of a bitch for us little guy. If you ever need anything from us, let me know and I'll pass it on to my father" Hogan explains.

"Actually that's why I'm here. See it's about the U.E..." You proceed to explain to Hogan about who the U.E. really are, why they're attacking and how the U.E. and the corrupt Earth Federation officials are going to continue this war until one side is wiped out

Hogan has his doubts, but you show him the evidence and soon he's quite shocked.

"And you want to attack is Vegan Fortress?" He asks.

"Vagan Fortress, but yes. We already have six ships and about 110 mobile suits, but we're going to need more if we want to stand a proper chance"

I say railguns, personally. We've already idolized Isaac Newton and his deadliness. We should look into mass production EM Crossbows.
>>
>>24853968
If I remember correctly, everyone in AGE uses beam weapons almost exclusively. Vagan armor seems focused mainly on heat dispersion from beam weapons with less focus on heavy or concentrated kinetic weapons. Weapons like shaped-charge warheads. My idea for the first weapon is to mass-produce UC Gundam-era Panzerfausts. They are single-shot rocket-propelled grenades originally meant for use against warships. However, the rockets were fast and accurate enough to be effective against MS even at medium range. Panzerfausts were small enough that 2 could be carried on the backside of a Zaku-2s shield. I propose making enough that every MS can carry a pair on their shields for use against heavier MS.

>>24854095
Holy shit, Going into the classic's huh? I was envisioning something like that myself, We need to delve into Heat/Vibro Weaponry Tech Trees.

Hell go Crazy with Mobile Suit CQC Tech. Also, I am envisioning Crusader Gundam-Maxter Wear
>>
>>24854095
Wouldn't standard missiles serve the same purpose? Also, our ballista is basically a metal stake launcher.
The C. Gundam uses very few beam weapons in sum, until we modified its equipment.

You decide to explore. You make sure to leave a note and your phone number for Hogan when he comes back. Tim follows you as you enter the main colony. It's just like a regular colony, only smaller, darker, more crowded and filthy and populated by pirates.

You spend a half an hour wandering the streets, seeing the market that is literally referred to as the "Black Market". You can by everything from frozen pizza's to hand grenades there. You seem some movies and thank god Carlos isn't with you.

You see some bars and places to gamble but after realizing their alcohol smells like rubbing alcohol and piss, you decide to keep the 120 bucks you have on you, which you put into your shoe to avoid getting pick-pocketed.

However something catches your eye as you enter an MS dock and see modified pirate mobile suits everywhere. There are a lot of engineers around, these guys appear to be the ones in charge of modifying the mobile suits they get. Maybe you could talk them into helping you collect scrap for some better weaponry.

>>24854095
(Panzerfaust? Hmmm, yeah that's reasonable, just keep in mind when it comes to small single use devices like missiles an panzerfaust the AGE Builder can only build one at a time. The AGE Builder is good for big things, or rather parts for big things. Not so much in terms of small things. Once you produce them however it would allow them to be picked up and manufactured normally. Although keep in mind that regular missiles did work pretty damn well in Arc 2 and that the Vegan suits are pretty maneuverable)

>>24854024
(A tech tree? Hmmm, I can work on it. It might take a while considering everything we have so far. But what should be on it? Base technology? Maybe an example might help me out. I think I will do that, but I'll need some more details)
>>
>>24854161
>Also, our ballista is basically a metal stake launcher.
IDEA.

We make a Revolving Stake, and a Heavy Claymore Cowl.

We gon' go full Alteisen wit' dis.
>>
>>24853968
My second idea is another classic I'm bringing from UC Gundam 0080: chain mines. A chain mine is a string of magnetically attaching anti-ship charges with a handle on one end of the string to swing it like a whip. The mines would attach to the target MS, MA, or ship and detonate after about 3 seconds. Outfit a strike team with chain mines to use against the 3 Fa Bose battleships waiting at Ambat. The mines won't kill a ship that size, but they could open a few holes in the armor. And if there's a hole, it's a man's job to fill it. Preferably with a long range strike called in by the MS for the capital ships' beam cannons, missiles, or railguns.
>>
>>24854227
Well I would say something like a mixture of Base Technology VS Vagan Effectiveness. Like i said it's a spur of the moment Idea I'm sure some other anon's can expand on it better than I.
>>
>>24854242
needs more thruster before we set up the armor. give a theoretical weight to the AGE builder into creating such a monster first.
>>
>>24854227
I keep forgetting that there's no Minofsky interference in AGE and that guided missiles can actually work in this universe.
>>
>>24854242
The King Arthur Heavy Assault Cowl should be all we need for all our destructive needs.
>>
>>24854227

Scrap collection isn't what our ship is built to haul, and I don't think Blackmarsh wants to risk going to our Minsry outpost just to deliver some scrap.
>>
>>24854227

A bit of friendly advice on the tech tree idea.
For each 'standard' item, have a list of upgrades you think would work. Then assign conditions to their research (i.e. High Mobility Cowl would be unlock-able after fighting a High Mobility opponent as Jake is introduced to the benefits of High Mobility suits)
Anon can have some brilliant ideas for upgrades, so feel free to include them when it feels appropriate, or discount if they are too absurd...

Inter-connecting higher tiers of tech prevents too much specialization. i.e. a 'Boost Driver' upgrade would require both upgraded engines and upgraded/additional reactors.

Limit how many upgrades can be done on a single piece of equipment. the more modifications that are made, the more cumbersome the weapon becomes after a point, instead offer the option to switch out mods.

On that note, Upgrades are different from Mods. An upgrade is a permanent boost to a part or system, a Mod is an attachment. Upgrades are rarer and more difficult to obtain but are statistically worth the pain.

Feel free to use, modify or discard these suggestions as you see fit. I only hope that the advice is helpful...
>>
>>24854354
Yeah, but it's a ranged system primarily, and not suited for close-in battles or cramped environments. Not to mention it's useless in any sort of gravity. I think we need a cowl system based around high mobility. The Full Solid has some booster thrusters, but it's still mostly designed around armor. I want something so that when we inevitably have to eject from the King Arthur, we can pull a new armor out of the storage pods and do some awesome melee with the Excalibuster. Something with attachments around the legs and arms with vernier thrusters. I'm seeing something like a set of boots and gloves with rockets based off the Spallow's. Something that won't weight us down enough for its thrusters to only give acceleration and not mobility. Maybe add in some wing binders so we can improve our AMBAC capability. Do we have AMBAC in AGE? It's never explicitly stated, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be a standard technology.
>>
>>24854556
A full-vernier attachment like the GP-01 from 0083?
>>
>>24854556
(Yep, AMBAC is a standard)

>>24854328
(It's fine, your trying to think of new ideas and that's great. Also keep in mind the Vagan ships are strong in terms of hull, they can survive mobile suit kamikaze attacks without a scratch so the explosives available in a length of chainmines might not be enough)

>>24854283
(I like the idea thank you for suggesting it)

>>24854523
(This is very helpful advice! Now all I have to do is collect the massive amount of crap we already have and work it into a chart)

>>24854384
Oh you don't plan to leave now. That doesn't mean you can't try to work out an agreement. The pirates are working with what is commercially available, Shaldolls, Genoaces, Xenos and Zila units. Not very good. These guys, along with everyone else value weapon schmatics over everything else. If you play your cards right you could get a sweet deal.
>>
>>24854621
So we should organize trades with them? I see. Perhaps we give them MS upgrades (which will increase their survivability at Ambat) in exchange for raw materials (and perhaps weaponry that is of questionable legality).
>>
>>24854599
Something along those lines, yeah. Maybe even something we can wear under the King Arthur, so we can eject straight into mobility mode.
>>
>>24854665
Also we can swap tactical data and the like and feed their combat data into MAG And The AGE System.

Pirate Tech Tree HO! and well if we play our cards right dare I say Age-1 Or Age -X Dark Hound
>>
>>24854708
Something more along the lines of the Dendrobium Stamen, then. The King Arthur MA is basically the Dendrobium Orchis anyways, so why not attach secondary thrusters like the Stamen? http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/0083/rx-78gp03s.htm for the GP-03 Dendrobium Stamen Gundam.
>>
>>24854803
(Yeah it basically is a cross between the Stamen and the GN Arms only it lacks any melee weapon)

>>24854769
>AGE-X Dark Templar Custom
Now that I would love to see drawn out.

>>24854665
(Remember that this is after the Silver Chalice Treaty, even after 115 years, people have only just begun to start developing new weapons and really it's more rediscovery most of the time. DODS Rifle Schamatics would be work more to the pirates then a handful of battleships)
>>
>>24854803
That's what I was basing the idea on, yeah. I'd like some thrusters on the arms and legs, though. Just so we can move our limbs about faster, too. Accelerated sword swings would be nice to have.
>>
>>24854872
So can we call our High mobility Wear the Crusader Aquila? hur hurr see what I did there?
>>
>>24854956
No, actually. Am I just being dim?
>>
>>24854974
Assassins Creed Joke
>>
>>24854987
Ah. Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Never played those, but I know the concept.
>>
>>24854621
Survive kamikaze attacks from MS? That's just bullshit on the creator's part. They trying to make this Super Robot Wars or something? It's bullshit when no one but the main characters can do anything major in a Gundam series. What happened to the good old days when the MC's redshirts could actually get major shit done? I mean, yeah, our redshirts here can look after themselves but it just seems wrong to have enemies so strong we need crazy-ass weapons like the Photonic Blaster instead of good weapons, tactics, and teamwork. Maybe I just watched too much U.C. Gundam and not enough Super Robot shows...
>>
>>24855066
(Hmmm, alright you have a point there. The Vagan Fa Bose armor is strong, but a big enough explosion/physical attack should leave it open to beam attacks. I get your complaint kijin and I understand completely)

As you sit around thinking about what you could do, you are approached by Hogan and Captain Black Marsh.

"So you want to invade a Vegan Fortress do you?" He asks.
>spelling error is intentional

Your reply Jake?
>>
>>24855066
There's actually a reason for it in AGE though. UE Ships and Suits are using Materials/Designs/Technology from the Exa-DB. So they're all Height of the War shit.

Conversely, the Federation, Eluba, ect tech is pretty much designed for colony security and workload. It's like a Mall Security Guard armed with nothing but Pepperspray taking on a fully equipped tactical miltary marine with face guard, the best body armor money can buy and an assault rifle.

As the generations pass, the field gets alot more even.
>>
>>24855200
"Indeed I do. Any back up that I can get is appreciated as he fighting will be very chaotic, so much so that if a few suits went missing no one would be the wiser."

Pirates are all about that remuneration.
>>
>>24855066
Well, AGE does have a distinctly Super Robot aesthetic to a lot of it. So it does kind of play into those tropes. Especially once it gets to generation 3. I swear, Kio's first fight is played completely straight as Super Robot. A civilian child given a powerful mecha by his eccentric grandfather, flashy combination sequences with the mecha's emblem displayed in the background, a soundtrack with dramatic use of horns. They were so committed to it that they even made the third generation Vagan grunt MS be dinosaur-shaped, so they could have proper campy monsters rampaging through the city.

But I digress. On the plus side, the reason the Vagan Battleships are so heavily armored is because they have poor mobility and no point defense. So it's not impossible for non-main characters to take them down. They've just got to work harder at it.
>>
>>24855200
Sorry for the bitching, but it just seemed off. I'm not saying that it has to tear fuck-huge holes in ships, but it just sounds too game-breaking. When did that happen in canon?
>>
>>24855280
>>24855251
(I agree the U.E.'s technical superiority is massive which is why they did so much damage through the many Arcs. At the moment Earth Sphere tech is still trying to develop by Gen 3 Vegan and the EF are on an even playing field for the most part. So the Fa Bose are very tough, but it costs them any kind of maneuverability or point defense. As for when the Kamikazi attack happened that was in Gen 1, by Don Voyage the Euba leader)

>>24855255
"Indeed I do. Any back up that I can get is appreciated as he fighting will be very chaotic, so much so that if a few suits went missing no one would be the wiser."

Black Marsh laughs. "I like the way you think kid. How many ships, men and mobile suits do you think you'll need?"
>>
>>24855259
I stopped watching AGE in the beginning of the 2nd generation. Between not having seen the last half of the series and the upgrading Jake's been doing I was thinking we were moving to a more even level with the Vagan. Not matching them but getting within reach in some technology. That and for some reason I keep mentally linking AGE to UC Gundam where ships are vulnerable to heavy conventional MS weapons.
>>
>>24855456
All
>>

All of them.

"We're attacking the biggest known Vagan base in the Solar System. We need all of them."
>>

"Yeah. We'll teach those tofu-eating bastards!

"Seriously, though, the Vagans are a threat to us all. Every operative of theirs I've encountered so far has been borderline psychotic, with the one redeemable case being a child soldier who didn't know any better. If these are the people they have give authority over their military to, they have to be stopped now while we have the chance. For now they're just raiding and skirmishing, buying time while they amass their real invasion fleet. Should they enter the Earth Sphere in force, they will raze it. They don't care for individual loyalty or responsibility. To them, we're all guilty of abandoning them to die. And they intend to take the vengeance they see as rightfully theirs.

"I can give you compensation for your aid. Right now we're mass producing weapons and armor capable of giving us a fighting chance against them. I am willing to provide these to you, both to augment your forces and as payment. Sell them on the black market, keep them for yourselves, whatever you decide to do with them they're at least twenty years ahead of any tech you have right now and very valuable. I'm not keen on them getting out of our hands, but I figure that even if you turn them against the Federation you're a lesser threat than the Vagans are. You can be reasoned with. You have desires and goals that can be met without committing genocide. I can't say that about them."
>>
"How many do you have?"
>>
>>24855456
"All of them. Intelligence reports upwards of 800 MS and 3 large battleships. I've made a few toys to help even the odds some, but it's still one hell of a challenge. You think your men are up to it?"
>>
>>24855456
"Everything you can spare. I know you can't commit all your forces without potentially losing territory to other pirate clans, but this really is a threat that merits a response in full force. We're currently mass-producing weapons and defensive systems that we hope will provide some advantage, but we still need every unit we can get. You are, of course, entitled to keep any of the weapons you receive that survive the battle"
>>
>>24855584

Black Marsh laughs again. "I'm amazed at how strong willed you are for such a young age. I'd hate to have you as an enemy in my old age and in the beginning of your adulthood. I have 5 ships and 200 mobile suits I can spare without risk of getting knocked off by rivals or the Federation. Will that be enough?"

Well Jake?
>>
>>24855686
"Can these rivals of yours be swayed?"
Any more people we get will be a boon.
>>
>>24855686

In the words of the 'Tesco' chain of supermarkets; Every little Helps

This is acceptable. We did not expect to have every pirate ship ever joining us. It is enough to make a noticeable difference to our standing forces...
>>
>>24855686
"I believe so. Also, I'd like to trade a bit if you're interested."
>>
>>24855743
>>24855750

"That'll do fine every little bit helps but can't your rivals be swayed?" You ask.

"Our rivals are the scum of the Earth Sphere. Narcotics dealers, Sex Slave Traders, you name it. We may be criminals but we have a code we follow." Black Marsh states with a low growl.

"Sir! Sir!" One of the other pirates runs in, out of breath and his face as white as a ghost.

"What is it? Can't you see I'm talking?"

"It's back sir! The Black Raven is back!"

Black Marsh's eyes go wide with terror. "Activate the defense systems. Prepare to launch. NOW!"

(Well I apologize for stopping short but I honestly need some sleep. How was today's game? We didn't get as much done as we usually do. Tommorow's game will start at 3:00-3:30 like usual)
>>
>>24855686
"It'll have to be. If I could, I'd rally every ship in the Earth Sphere to our banner. But given the time frame we have to operate on, that is more than generous of you, Captain. Thank you."
>>
>>24855877
At least we got to explore the wrecked ship. The paranoia in regard to what would pop out was pretty entertaining.
>>
>>24855877
'Black Raven'? Shit, no talking our way out of THIS one.
>>
>>24855877
We got lots done. We found out a bit about the history of the setting, got an adorable if slightly unsettling robot mascot of our own to match Haro, recovered a cryosleep pod that's been storing someone for the past hundred years, and recruited some pirates to our aid with the use of dramatic speeches. That's plenty of content for one thread. Don't sweat it.
>>
>>24855941
Especially since the wrecked ship's logs mentioned an enemy unit by that name. Meaning one of three things:

1. Someone has taken on that title for its historical connotations of fearsome prowess.

2. The Black Raven is the name of a specific machine, not the ace nickname of the pilot, and that machine has been found and restored much like our Gundam has.

3. T. Touchdown isn't the only one to have slept the years away in a cryopod, and we're about to face a Char clone from the age of the Colony Wars.

Dear god do I hope it's just number one. It probably isn't, though.
>>
>>24855877
We spent a lot of time discussing things and making new friends. Just because there were no big fight scenes doesn't mean it wasn't important.
>>
>>24856101
Good point, we did get a lot done. I'm just being tired and worrisome
>>24856046
Why so worried about 1?
>>
>>24856445
No, number one is the version I'm not worried about. That's just some pirate. It's the others that worry me. A pirate having pre-AG technology is scary. A Char as our enemy is outright terrifying.
