You are Doctor Victor Von Doom, Ruler of Latveria, Rightful king of the world, Master wizard and genius scientist.

You are driving to Lake Doom with Valeria and Ms Laura Kinney.

You have Mail!

Your armies stand at:
90,000 Servo-Guards
100 Doombots
100 Doomknights
1100 Silent stalkers
100 Time bots
1 Battle CDC
Please inquire as to any confusion with the different types

The colonies on Mars are thriving. The atlantean habitats are complete, and the mutants homes are now completed. Magneto has sent a list of mutants who wish to go, along with himself

Current allies are Molecule Man, Morgana le Fey, Deadpool and Magneto. Namor is also your friend, but does not respond well to orders, and X-23 may become a valuable asset if treated correctly

You have several goals, including:
Rescue mother from Mephisto
Defeat Reed Richards and friends
Take over the world
Establish other interplanetary mining colonies

Short term goals include:
Go on picnic
Spy on Putin
Spy on Johnny Storm's Female friends

It is a letter from Doctor Octavius. It seems your doombot found him.

Dear Dr Doom

I have to say, the whole deal seems a little suspect. After all, what if something were to go wrong? A pressure leak, a structural collapse, all of these could easily kill me, and there would be little chance of rescue. Perhaps if you were to discuss this with me personally, Face to Mask, I might be swayed.

Doctor Octavius, PhD
>>
>>24766112
I forget, what did we want Octavius for again?
>>
>>24766112
Response:
"Dear Dr. Octavius,
"Your reluctance is understandable, for no such endeavor has been ever attempted before. An audience shall be arranged in Doomstadt; transportation shall be arranged in your name. The DoomPortal in the Latverian Embassy in New York City is the fastest method of travel, however alternative arrangements can be made.
"- Dr. Victor von Doom"

>>

>>24766266

I shall send it at once, sir.

>>24766266
You arrive and unpack, setting out various foodstuffs and drinks. Laura pours some coffee, and Valeria tells you about her first day, and about her homework
>>
>>24766366
Ask about her homework
>>
>>24766366
Ask her how she's liking school, and what the homework entails.
>>
>>24766401
"Oh, it's pretty cool. I have to summon something. One of these!"
She hands you a small sheaf of papers. It seems that tomorrow she has to demonstrate the ability to summon a lesser elemental. The spell is on the sheet
>>
>>24766476
Help her out with it, check on Laura and then just chillax. We're Doom, we need a day off
>>
>Rescue mother from Mephisto
Lucia, see if you can schedule a meeting with Dr. Strange. I have matters of a mystical nature I must discuss with a fellow expert. SO SAYS DOOM.

>Take over the world
We shall construct advanced fusion reactors/desalination plants in impoverished desert regions of the world.
We shall green the deserts and provide the world with limitless free electricity.
Undoubtedly, most of the world will be awed by my beneficence and recognise me as their rightful ruler in time.
A monopoly on the worlds power supply will ensure the quick defeat of any malcontents that still oppose me.
>>
>>24766497
You show her how to set up the circle, and let her get on with it. Before long, there are several different types floating around
Laura is reading a book. She seems to be managing slightly better now.
You rest, and feel invigorated for taking a break from duties.

I also forgot to mention the change in finances, sir. Due to the change in currency, market speculation on the value has increased the amount of money you have, but minting the new money has been expensive. Overall, the total finances stand at $18 billion
>>
>>24766605
We can't just ask him. Doom does not beg
>>
>>24766476
Ask if she needs any help with it of if she's fine.

Just chill, make small talk with them both.
>>
>>24766613
Simply relax for now. We have many matters to attend to once this break is over; let us enjoy this respite while we can.
>>
>>24766630
Consult with a peer (In the magical field) =/= Beg for help.

FOOL! YOU DARE IMPLY DOOM WOULD EVER LOWER HIMSELF SO!

Lucia, dispatch a kill-team of Silent Stalkers to eliminate the fool.
>>
Doctor Strange is a member of the Illuminati, a group who is now in your debt. Once they recieve the reports of the scans of the Russian government, you may be able to ask him in person

Doctor Octavius may be able to help with this goal, sir. His expertise may be valuable, and would prevent your time being used on the matter

>>24766634
>>24766652
"No, I think I've got it down now. Thanks, though!"
You spend an hour or so simply talking with both of them. They tell you of the time that Valeria nearly destroyed the baxter building by inventing a device to keep bathwater warm, mostly using uranium. Most of your own tales are either violent, involve copius lab work or hitting Valeria's immediate family, though you find something that you can share.

Before long, reality resurges, in the form of a ship heading to castle Doom, launched from the SHIELD helicarrier. It looks set to arrive in around an hour

>>
>The colonies on Mars
Mars lacks stable rotation. There is no set equator and no set day/night cycle. The planet just rolls in random directions.

We must give the planet a large moon to act as a gravitational anchor.

Lucia, consult the survey reports for a suitable astral body. We will adjust its course so that it becomes caught in the planets gravity well, much the same way as Neptunes moon Triton.
>>
>>24766780
That'd be funny considering Reed just hit him for asking about us. We could blackmail reed into sending him using the video
>>
>>24766758
We are not begging. We are calling in a favor. Strange will owe us a favor after we give the Illuminati the Russian scanning results, and when we resolve the Skrull issue.
We will cash that in to get his expertise in rescuing our mother.
>>
>>24766826
Then we have earned his help, as Doom has in that picture
Until that day however, we won't ask for Strange's help, no matter how freely he gives it
>>
>>24766746
Lucia, check with Latverian Air Traffic Control; has the ship identified itself and filed a flight plan?
If yes, let it proceed.
If not, have flying Servoguards go up and escort it down.
>>

They actually filed a flight plan and identified themselves? I am moderately amused that we have finally beaten a bad habit out of SHIELD.

Once the ship lands, the passengers are to be escorted to a waiting room until our return.

Yes we have. We completed the scans of the Russian government and military, and sent a report to Nick Fury, who will pass it on to the Illuminati. And they already owe us for taking care of Slovakia's Skrull infiltration and providing SHIELD and the Avengers with hand-held Skrull detectors.

Well... We have well programmed robots anyway.

Valeria has a lot of fun playing with her elementals, but when it approaches the time to leave, realises she doesn't know how to get rid of them. You dispel them for her, and make a note to talk to Morgan about that.
Laura spends her time attempting various questions on her homework as well. You offer some guidance when needed, and wonder why she wanted to take a statistics course so badly anyway

You head back to castle Doom. You note the SHIELD craft is new, and appears to be a stealth variant.
You go and get changed. Donning your armour and dispelling your illusion, you head down to the waiting room where Captain America, Director Fury and Thor are reading various Latverian magazines

What would you like to say?
>>
>>24767011
Same thing really
I'd suggest maybe selling Doombots to world leaders or their protection agencies, but I think SHIELD cornered the market with LMD's. Plus I can see that making Skrull infiltration that bit easier
>>
>>24767042
"Gentlemen. What brings you to DOOM on this day?"
>>
>>24767042
(have a 6 time bots set in ghost mode over the room form the time platform so we can flank them all at will) "Gentlemen, good evening "
>>
>>24767054
This has me wondering do our doombots' sensors have built in Skrull identifiers?
>>
Can someone answer a question for me.

What's the cannon reason Doom keeps his scars and burns?

He has access to super-science and advanced magic. He could fix the damage any time he wants.

If there is an important character reason to keep them ("I will bare these marks until I have completed my goal. SO SAYS DOOM") then I guess we'll keep them. Otherwise, I say we just fix them.
>>
>>24767114
Not all of them, not yet anyway. Perhaps we could begin a general upgrade program on any Doombot that has a reasonable chance of meeting a potential Skrull. All ambassadorial units, any field agents we have in Eastern Europe, and anyone we have in New York
>>24767042
"Commander Fury, Captain Rodgers, Thor, a pleasure to recieve you in my home!"
Scan them with the Skrull detector, as subtly as possible
>>
>>24767160
A remember of how far he's come. Every scar is a story, a tale of defeat or victory, a lesson learned the hard way (even if that lesson is just "Holy shit, turns out pressing hot metal onto your face is a really fucking stupid idea!)
>>
>>24767068
Fury stands up.
"Doom. I'd like to say thanks for giving us the skrull detectors and for that report on Russia. But I could have done that over the phone. The real reason we've come is because there's 400 skrulls in uniform in a barracks outside Doomstadt. Care to explain yourself?

>>24767114
Yes, sir.
>>
>>24767190
Please tell me we didn't hire Skrulls in a previous thread. Or are they getting a false positive from our prototype Skrull-Infiltrator bots?

>>24767190

if not deploy 1000 bots with 5 doom knights and a pare of time bots to take care of things.
>>
>>24767190
>400 Skrulls in uniform
"Ah, those Skrulls which surrendered to Latverian forces at the beginning of the war with Slovakia, and who requested sanctuary within Latveria as per their right according to international law. They have been granted citizenship in Latveria, and now serve DOOM.
"Surely the United States of America has much experience in this field. After all, how many Nazi scientists and engineers, as well as Wermacht prisoners of war did the United States welcome into their military and science programs at the end of World War 2?"
>>
>>24767171
>Perhaps we could begin a general upgrade program
Seconded.

Lucia, order upgrades to any Robots likely to encounter a Skrull.

Also, have the Skrull scanner upgrade be added to the general maintenance schedule when the robots come in for standard repairs and inspection.
>>
>>24767209
Of course we did. We're Doom.

It's impossible to lie to Fury so tell him about the deal we made with the Skrulls.
Also we need to figure out how Fury found out and how he got the cajones to confront us.
>>
>>24767237
Seconded.
>>
>>24767209
They're the ones that surrendered and we've been brainwashing, pretty much
That or the skrullbots
>>
>>24767209
We didn't hire them. They surrendered when we first called for the Slovakian Skrulls to surrender. As such, they were treated as Prisoners of War.
They then asked for sanctuary and asylum, undoubtedly because they knew that assistance from the other Skrulls on the planet and their empire would not be forthcoming.
>>
>>24767243
We did just give him a crate of Skrull detectors, he probably jury rigged a SHIELD recon satellite to work on the same principles
And I'd be feeling pretty confident too if I had Captain America and Thor at my back
>>
>>24767243
>figure out how Fury found out
We know they have satellite surveillance on us. 400 Skrulls in uniform can't be that hard to spot.
>>
>>24767237
"Seriously? You actually trust them? Keep a closer eye on them. And build higher walls. It's not the same, considering they aren't human. Surely you realise that."
"Nobody told me about the scientists" Captain mutters

Shall I fetch drinks, sir?
>>
>>24767237
>how many Nazi scientists and engineers, as well as Wermacht prisoners of war did the United States welcome into their military and science programs
According to Operation Paperclip records, 1,600 scientists and engineers, with patents and designs amounting to $10 billion dollars.
>>
>>24767331
>It's not the same, considering they aren't human
"True. But they are subjects of DOOM now, and they will be treated as such.
"Besides, my Skrull detectors make it so that they are tightly monitored. They may be able to fool regular human sight, but they cannot fool DOOM's machines."

>"Nobody told me about the scientists"
"Fear not, Rogers. Most of the scientists were not guilty of Nazi war crimes. They were quite grateful for their sanctuary, and their expertise made America strong."

It's so easy to tweak Captain America.
>>
>>24767331
"Just how much did they tell you Captain? Oh Im sure some of the information that was meant to go to you was lost because of some beurocratic mistake. Anyway those skrulls show no danger to Doom or the people of Latveria, but Doom thanks you for your concern Fury."
>>
>>24767411
This. Backhanded compliments that are really insults are a specialty of DOOM.
>>
>>24767331
Yes, fetch some refreshments, Lucia.
>>
>>24767411
"Even so, I doubt they can be trusted. I have to say, it wasn't the answer I was expecting. Anyway, make sure they're secure. As much as you've helped, I doubt SHIELD could help you if they get loose"

"I think I'm gonna have to go look at some history books when I get back"

Everyone enjoys a drink, apart from thor who asks for several more. It seems Fury must have panicked and flew over once he saw the Skrulls
>>
>>24767506
"You have DOOM's word that they will be secure.
"If that is all, gentlemen."

Now we need to see if we can talk with Putin, secretly.

Really Fury, you think Doom is naive enough to trust anyone?

>"I think I'm gonna have to go look at some history books when I get back"

>>
>>24767582
"I know I wouldn't, especially if I were you"

A flash of anger crosses Cap's face. You can tell it isn't going to be a fun night on the helicarrier.

They depart, probably slightly confused.

Would you like to check the list of mutants that wish to go to mars, sir?
>>
>>24767582

>>
>>24767659
>Would you like to check the list of mutants that wish to go to mars, sir?

Yes, also, have you set up that meeting with Magneto? Restarting the magnetic field on Mars will be required if the surface of the planed is ever to become liveable, I suspect Magneto would be able to help with that.
>>
>>24767791
Can he work from nothing? Or will we have to artificially generate a magnetic field for him to spread across the globe?
Now, there's a major project for the future. Restore the Martian magnetosphere. Perhaps we can provide anchor points for the magnetics at the poles and the equator
Goddammit, just realised that comes to constructing additional pylons
>>
>>24767692
Yes, sir.
The list seems to be mostly mundane mutants, those with powers of little use, like hair growth or invisible bones, but a few names stick out to you- Wanda and pietro Maximoff, Mastermind, the blob, and for some reason, toad.

>>24767791
He is willing to meet with you whenever you wish, sir. Shall I arrange a meeting for tomorrow?

I have sent the message to Namor through the atlantean mage at the college, who has a direct link to him

It would seem that Valeria and Laura are attempting to bake something.
>>
>>24767845
The Maximoff's? Well thats interesting. Any idea if daddy knows? Because that could be fun to mention to Magneto tommorow

>>24767834
>Can he work from nothing? Or will we have to artificially generate a magnetic field for him to spread across the globe?
We'll get more answers when we talk to him.

Whatever we do, it'll have to wait until we give Mars a new moon and establish stable polls and an equator.

>Mastermind
Lucia, I am familiar with the others but not this one. Have a dossier on him prepared for my review.
>>
>>24767891
I believe that he must. He wrote the list, unless they added themselves, of course. I apologise for my impudence.

>>24767917
Jason Wyngarde, sir. I apologise for my lack of clarity

>>24767942
He is a member of magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants. He is capable of illusions and memory manipulation. He has used his powers several times for the benefit of the brotherhood, for example, capturing a country in south america using the illusion of thousands of soldiers
>>
>>24767990
So Magneto has moved the Brotherhood up to Mars, along with his children. Where are we meeting him? Because I feel we need to make a forceful entrance. No violence, but a lot of implied power. Can't let Eric start having ideas about throwing us off Mars now can we?
>>
>>24767917

I arranged a meeting point in Great Britain, in one of your automated foundries
>>
>>24768099
Lets talk with him, we can approve or disapprove afterwards depending on how the meeting goes
What does the foundry produce?
I'm worried that Magneto intends to create a New Genosha on Mars without our consent. He could at least ask, Doom knows the pain of life without a homeland
>>
>>24768099
None seem of any great Issue to DOOM. Ensure they arnt heavily wanted by international police, that We've Sufficient magical scrying so they cant dupe anyone around.

We should try and get most of these kids and youths back in school, which we can dangle in front of Xavier, help them learn, in peace on mars
>>
>>24768119
It is an emergency factory that produces robots and for dire circumstances, a suit of armour. And a spare robot for myself, of course.

Most of the Brotherhood mutants are, but in fairness, sir, so are you
>>
>>24768183
>We should try and get most of these kids and youths back in school,

That's a good point. Not just normal education, but training their powers.

Most mutants develop their powers around puberty, and many of them take a lot of time learning to control them.

One mutant that hasn't learnt to control their powers can be dangerous. An entire community.....

We must discuss means of schooling and safety precautions we can take.
>>
>>24768258
Three people come to mind on info on that: Prof. Xavier, Ororo Munroe, & Emma Frost.
>>
>>24768258

Could be cool. Make Magneto take care of most of it, though. He's got more expertise after all
>>
>>24768362

>>
>>24768119
>New Genosha
But that's exactly why we invited Magneto.
>>
>>24768393
Alright, cool. Hey Lucia, build this. Use some of the adamantium
>>
>>24768452
Yeah, but we want a colony too, not to just hand it over to Magneto whole sale
On the subject of Mars, any chance we could build an early warning system up there? We need to know if there's any Skrull ships in the system
>>
>>24768349
>Prof. Xavier, Ororo Munroe, & Emma Frost.

They would all have an interest in a new mutant homeland. We should invite them to consult. Even if they don't want to go to Mars themselves, they can still contribute.
In fact, Xavier has been doing this on a smaller scale for years. He should have most of the information we need ready, on hand.

>Make Magneto take care of most of it, though
Either him or some other qualified manager. We'll discuss possible options later.
>>
>>24768454

The ambassador I dispatched is currently still arranging an appointment. I suspect that they may be putting him off on purpose

I want every ship within range of refit facilities equipped and ready to go ASAP.

They can be disarmed later if not needed. We will not be caught short.

Lucia, I want a list of our 'special assets' made available.
How many anti-matter warheads do we have in the secret bunkers?
How many of the DOOMSDAY cannons are ready to be brought on-line?
>>
>>24768730
Arrange the ship, and inform SWORD of the incident and our intention to investigate. If they want to co-ordinate let them, this could end very badly

Oh dear, thats not gone well. Hopefully the second try on the cake will go better

400 antimatter warheads, and approximately 200 cannons, though these are earth based, of course. You also have a number of weapons to disable other ships, which are frequently employed by the fantastic 4

Excellent. Have our ground based anti-ship weapons brought online and have the portable units mounter on our own ships when you refit them.

>400 antimatter warheads
Ready the Doomportals to be used offensively. If they prove hostile, we will use them to teleport-deploy warheads and troops.

Do not worry Lucia. Doom is merciful to His loyal servants.

Once the ship is fully cleared and secured, have it brought to Latvarian air-space. Ready science and engineering teams.

Have the cruiser taken to the asteroid base. Have construction crews turn it into a research base.

Seconding these. Especially getting the head of SWORD in our office for a proper dressing down. Doom is willing to tolerate a little bit of human error. A single radar operator playing solitaire, two security guards talking about 'the big game' or whatever peasants talk about. But this is a MAJOR breach and the head of SWORD erred, grievously, when she gave her word that there were objectively zero extraterrestrial vessels in this star system. As it stands, SWORD should have the Sword of Damocles hanging over it for these repeated failures. Does Doom have to do ~everything~ himself?

Next time we go to a UN meeting, file a flight plan. Get clearance for us to arrive in a 'private vertical take off and landing aircraft', like a helicopter. Not that hard, some delegates do that. Fly the skrull warship in and hover it above the UN building. Point out that THIS slipped past SWORD's notice and it took you to capture it. THIS is the reason Doom has been asking for greater control over Sword and Shield. If they aren't going to take their jobs seriously, then they should be replaced by Doom, who does take his responsibilities very seriously.

Contact Cap tomorrow ask him to visit Latveria, as we have a special request for him. Since there are so few surviving WW2 veterans left, we want him to speak to a high school class about his experiences in the war. Once he's here, we can use the same educational time-machine trick we've talked about before to show him the end of the war, project paperclip, and any other events of historical importance he may not have learned about. America's concentration camps for the japanese, maybe? Or McCarthy's Red Scare? Or maybe the Los Angeles race riots? There are a lot of things the history books don't talk about, and I doubt Fury will give him straight answers. I say we give him access to a time window, then when he's done ask him if we are really a worse ruler than America's political families.

Also, we owe him a great debt for his service in WW2. We use our time machine to collect all the old members of the units he fought with who survived the war, and have a veteran's party before returning them to their rightful place in time. A final chance to speak to heroes of the past, before getting on with the work of the present.

We may have to remove all weapons from the ship for that. Which if fine by me, I think the use of smaller ships to target Doomportals for rapid boarding actions is much more efficient than attempting to engage in space warfare anyway.

Also, see if we can pull navigation and astrogation data from the ship's computer. IF it has accurate charts of other star systems, we can use that to target our DoomDoors across the galaxy. Latveria just became capable of sending diplomatic envoys to all the major space-faring races. Kree (not likely, they're dicks), Shi'Ar (maybe), Xandarians (maybe), etc. Isn't Fin Fang Foom an alien stranded on Earth who wishes to go home? BAM done.

What IS the maximum range of these?
Do they have full galactic range?
What about intergalactic range?
Could we rival the Iconian Empire and their Gateways, able to put a million Servoguard soldiers on any planet instantaneously?

We could begin colonizing the Pegasus Galaxy, and with automated Foundries churning out Doombots and exponentially increasing our forces, we could put Human outposts on thousand worlds in a hundred galaxies.

We could set off anti-matter demolition charges on the Skrull Throneworld, and they have no defense against us.

>>24776632
It's not like we couldn't build waystations in interstellar space, just a mass of sensors and shields with a pair of doomdoors between waystations and planets. An entire network of comm relays, sensor grids, and portals spanning our soon-to-be Empire.
>>
>>24777309
I think you're gettig ahead of yourself.

But the portals do open possibiliies to us. Think we could get Mole Man to work for us setting up geothermal power plants on Earth and Mars? Combined with the mercury-orbitting solar collection rigs we talked about, we could have a lot of spare energy to sell/trade to the rest of the world. And we can just run a cable through a portal to transmit it millions of miles.

We have the roots of an impressive empire, but we need to lay a lot more ground work. We need at least 50% of earth's civilized nations backing us, plus we'll need a sizable stable of supers, both hero and villain, to hold off those who would blindly trust the word of Richards, because if we handle them ourselves they'll paint us as the bad guy again.

We also need recognition and non-aggression pacts with at least two major interstellar powers. I'd suggest Xandar and the Nova Corps if they're still around (has annihalation wave happened yet? Thanos Imperitive?), the Shi'Ar (traditionally somewhat good relations with humans, and they tend to act as a stabilizing influence compared to other aliens in the setting), and Kymellians (known for beig fairly peaceful, powerful, and fairly generous). Maybe the Centurii. Definitely the Inhumans, especially if they're made contact with the other races of Universal Inhumans. If the Inhumans go on to conquer the Kree in this timeline too, we definitely want them as allies.
>>
>>24775353
I think we need to have visited at least somewhere near the area, like how we couldn't just put one on mars, we had to fly there first
>>
>>24779339

>>
Bitch, we are DOOM. How could you forget the Ovoids who willingly shared their greatest secrets with Doom long ago? We want them to be our first stop.
>>
>>24779412
No we didn't. We opened a door into the past straight there, possibly based on telemetry from the original NASA rover mission, then let the self-replicating construction bits work for 15 years and contact us when they were done. All we need is accurate targettig data.
>>
>>24779535
Well something had been there first, at least.
>>
>>24780005

>setting up geothermal power plants on Earth and Mars, we could have a lot of spare energy to sell/trade to the rest of the world

An idea preposed earlier was to build advanced fusion reactors/desalination plants in impoverished desert nations.

This will let us green the deserts and provide free electricity to much of the world.
The new emerging economys we help develop in the greening areas will be wholly dependant on us and many of the developed nations not completely owned by oil and gas will depend on us too.

Many will be awed by our beneficence and will freely recognise us as their rightful ruler when the time comes.
Our monopoly over the worlds power supply will make the defeat of the few malcontents that refuse to see reason a simple task.
>>
>>24780085
That's a good start, but fusion can be unstable, hence our recent contact with Octavius. And we don't want anyone acusing use of nuclear weapon construction with those fusion reactors. Geothermal and solar are clean and removed from any location that can be at risk from terror strikes. Besides, power is one of those 'no such thing as too much' deals. We'd be fulfilling Edison's boast: "We're going to make electricity so cheap, only the rich will burn candles".
>>
Alright guys, I never catch one of these live, so I wanted to throw this shit out there for you lot to discuss.

1: Get on a talk show. We can get a friend of a friend of a minion of a person we're blackmailing to put in a good word for us, then surprise them by accepting. Most of our exposure to the world at large is from people who dislike us for some reason or another talking about how they stopped our newest 'evil scheme' (We should also say as much). Possible points to bring up for said interview:

>We're trying to make the world a better place.
>The fact that people disagree with us on certain points doesn't make either party evil, just in opposition.
>That it's kinda unfair that we're called an egotistical bastard and Reed gets a free pass to call himself 'Mr Fantastic' (This is mostly a joke).
>Latveria's always looking to improve both forign relations and domestic affairs, so if anyone is interested we're open to suggestions and help (not that we need it, but we ARE fighting a PR battle).

Seriously, getting on Leno or whatever would cost us about an hour of our time and would DRAMATICALLY improve people's perceptions of us.

2: Fuck with Reed's head.

Doom is better than Reed, this is simple fact. However, Doom has come off worse on the whole than this simple fact would suggest.

Now, we aren't stupid, so the answer is obvious: It's not a problem of Doom vs. Reed. It's a question of Doom vs. The FF or Doom vs. The Avengers.

It's hard enough trying to carry the weight of the world when your peers spend their time trying to kick your legs from underneath you. So Doom is going to do something about that, which will greatly improve our long term endeavors.

We're going to tell him exactly that, word for word. Here's why:
>>
>>24780197

What we mean:
>I'm trying to improve international relations so that people will listen to me. If I can prove on small limited scales my ideas are good then it snowballs from there to 'Doom elected king'.

What Reed will hear:
>DOOM WILL CRUSH YOU ALL INTO DUST!

The fact that we've been meeting with current and reformed super-villains will only compound this paranoia. The fact that we're not actually planning something evil or underhanded will drive him more insane than any plot we might devise.

3: On the note of meeting with 'reformed' badguys, we should keep doing that.

Think about it: how many villains have a softer, nicer side and were forced into crime by one factor or another? That's basically Hawkeye's entire backstory.

So here's what we do: We find the 'nice' criminals, give them a shave and a nice job either in our country or with foreign affairs, and gentrify them.

It's important to note that this is public: it lets us show the world that even the most apparently vile men aren't beyond help/not everyone is as evil as they seem (leave the obvious comparison to ourselves unspoken), the goodwill from helping them will keep them loyal to us (publicly), it would inspire many disenfranchised to flock to us for a fresh start (boosting our PR and letting us expand our colonies) and would TERRIFY THE SHIT OUT OF REED AND HIS ALLIES. HOLY SHIT, DOOM'S BUILDING AN ARMY OF SUPER-VILLAINS!

I welcome criticism, and apologize only for being fifteen threads late with my contributions.
>>
>>24780197
What kind of talk show? The Colbert report?
>>
>>24780208
This is basically what we've been working on, bit by bit. Good suggestions, all. I especially like the Leno thing, but I think we should start with the single most widely respected evenig news source in America: The Daily Show with John Stewart. Avoid Colbert for now, John's an easier interviewer.

And we need to contact other tech villains. I think previously I've mentioned Major Force and a few other iron-man knockoffs who developed their own tech. Shocker. That one two-bit spiderman villain who built a pair of gloves that lets him duplicate Magneto's powers on a small scale. Vulture. Anyone who developed their own tech, tried to use it to make money or defend themselves from unjustified attacks and were branded 'villains' because of it. We bring them in, give them labs, and put them to work on civillian projects, or on upgrading the weapons and othe systems on front-line servoguards.
>>
>>24780356

The Shocker's pretty much EXACTLY the guy I was thinking of (it's not Magnetism by the way, his gimmick is manipulating and applying sonic waves in creative ways). He's flat out ONLY gone back into super villain stuff because he couldn't put food on the table and/or was directly forced into it by either blackmail or having a gun to his head.

Seriously, we offer him money and protection. If Fisk comes back for him to try and steal him away we put his head on a fucking pike. Sure he might be able to deter a blind dude in spandex, but that kinda security won't do him a damn bit of good against someone like Doom.
>>
>>24780355
Colbert would rip us a new one because he has to stick to his ultra-conservative shtick. Stewart would be much easier and more reasonable. More chance of us coming off as the good guy. Especially if we get the chance to mention things like Richards' unliscenced nuclear experiments inside the heart of New York City, the fact thst he has copies of the Ultimate Nullifier, which can wipe out all life for light-years around if activated. Or that mos of his technologies were stolen from other geniuses. And he has the nerve to call us the villain? This is our chance to set the record straight.

But we should totally arrange for Deadpool to go on Colbert.
>>
>>24780438
There's another guy with magnet-gloves, not the Shocker. I think we want both. And Mysterio's hologram and cloaking tech.

Well we've got doctor octopus coming along, so we could probably get some more. Did you mean the wizard? I think he had something like Magneto's powers

On the mutant front though, I don't think we should let the blob in. He's just a generally shitty person, and will probably eat far too much from the limited farms we have

No, wasn't the wizard. It was some villain-of-the-week guy fromthe 70's who had one appearance a few years ago when Parker got a job at Horizon. Dude had just gotten out of prison, couldn't get a job, couldn't get sympathy from anyone, so he put the costume back on and was going to rob an electronics store. Parker walks up behind him in civie clothes, talks him down, and gets him a job as a minor lab tech at Horizon. Dude used raw Radio Shack parts in the 70's to duplicate Magneto's powers in a pair of gloves. Imagine what he could do with a decent lab.

I don't think we should be overly harsh on Reed during our first public appearances. I mean, we act like enough of a dick they aren't going to take us seriously.

We act diplomatically and say 'we have our differences' and not go on a fucking rampage about how RIIIIICHHAAARRDS ruined our life.

We let HIM flip his shit during a followup interview. "Any comment on why Doom wasn't as big a dick as you claimed?" "YOU FOOLS! YOU PLAY DIRECTLY INTO HIS SCHEMES!"

It's almost disappointing that we don't have a neutral party to gloat to about this stuff.

I mean, I guess we could talk to Deadpool but he might a: sell the info or b: force us to use the finger-puppets to make him understand.

That would be pretty good. He might even be able to do something for our gauntlets. Magnetism is a neat power to have, especially if laura goes batshit
Guess we should find his name out though

Good point. No major Richards bashing, even if asked. At most, we bring up the reactor, nothing else. If I have the timeline straight, Jameson should be mayor of New York at the moment. He'd crucify Richards himself just for having a hidden reactor, no matter how safe it is. The "N" word provokes a visceral reaction in a lot of people, especially New Yorkers. Between the memories of Three Mile Island and 9/11, they aren't going to react well to learning that the materials to make a nuke are in their back yard. What if one of the hijacked planes targetted the Baxter Building?

Butthat should be a trump card to pull out on the second or third interview if someone presses us hard about our feud with Richards.

We do kind of wear a nuclear battlesuit. Maybe we should do an illusion again, or dress like we did in unthinkable. Not in Valeria, but the suit.

Is our suit nuclear? I don't know what our power source is in this thing. Thought we outgrew the nuke cell a decade ago. Unsafe tech and all that.

I dunno, probably. Nuclear fusion on a small scale is pretty efficient, I'd think

That's anothe thig we need to either work on ourselves or build a think tank to work on: better power sources for our tech. Something Zero-Point-ish, or if we can save up enough cash buy out Stark and adap his Repulsor/Arc-Reactor tech. What do the Raiders and Mandroids use for power? Or the latest revision of Crimson Dynamo armor? Those are all so commonly used by villains and knocked of by black marketeers that they might as well be open source at this point.
