LAST TIME ON AGE QUEST:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/24685187/
---
Your name is Jake Crocker and yesterday or rather the day before that you fought aliens, captured a suit that should have exploded, learned about the Diva’s ace Woolf Enneacle , gave an awesome speech , completed an operating system and crapped our pants! Oh and we ate pancakes too.
You are currently aboard the Darwin Class ship “Armstrong” charged with capturing the mutineer Grodek Ainoa despite the odds being against you and being under the threat of imprisonment if you fail.

Due to staying up 36 hours and then passing out in bed it is currently Thursday. You are three days away from reaching the Fairdain colony where the Diva Class vessel that Grodrek took over was last seen headed too.

You are woken from a rather peaceful sleep by the rough hands of your father, who shakes you awake.

"Jake! Jake! Wake up!"

"Just five more minutes dad I was awake for a day and a half putting that memory core into Gundam and modifying my cellphone so Ma G could be carried inside..."

"No, you don't understand. We've been stopped by pirates"

"Well that's pretty no-wait pirates? Why aren't we fighting them?" You rub your eyes and look at your father in confusion.

"Just follow me to the bridge, I'll explain when we get there."

What will you do Jake?
>>
Follow him to the bridge.
"Sure thing, let me just grab my pants. What's going on?"
(Holy hell, you're using that image I made.)

(It's awesome, expect to see a lot of it.)
You get dressed, thankful you showered and stuffed your face with pancakes before you passed out. Mumbling about not getting enough beauty sleep you follow your father to the bridge of the Armstrong. Captain Frizzle and the bridge crew stare out into space at the several black ships in front of the Armstrong.

"Dad, what did I miss?" You ask.

"These ships stopped us and demanded that the pilot of the "Legendary Mobile Suit from Zarth" speak with their captain about something that went on there"

"So....their captain wants to speak with me? Why?" You look around in confusion.

"He refused to say. I suggest you speak with him so we can figure out what is going on." Captain Frizzle suggests in a rather calm manner as Phoebe opens a video channel.

The face of an old, white bearded man in black appears on screen, glaring at the bridge crew.

"Who here is the Gundam pilot?" He demands, looking from person to person,

"I am" you state, somewhat proudly.

"...OK, now who's the actual pilot?" He rolls his eyes at the suggestion.

"That young man is the pilot of the Gundam. He's the one you wish to speak too" Captain Frizzle says with a hint of amusement.

"I will not be made a fool of. Who is the Gundam's pilot?" He shouts his wrinkled face turning red with anger before ducking his head down and letting out a long, painful series of coughs.

"I am the pilot of the Gundam. If you don't believe me then how about I show you?" You step forward towards the screen glaring down the old man who glares back.

"You have ether stupidity or guts boy. If you were the pilot of the Gundam then tell me this. Did you kill the men who were sent to take the Gundam?" His eyes narrow and his voice lowers, as if he's trying to stare into your very soul.

Well Jake? What is your response?
>>
>>24706345
"No, I did not. I was incapacitated at the time. The men who were sent to take the Gundam worked for someone who called himself Manos."
"He appeared there with some black Gundam that is identical to the ones the UE use, said that the deal was off and attacked."
"He killed those men."
>>
>>24706345
>Did you kill the men who were sent to take the Gundam?
"You're going to have to be more specific. Are you talking about Manos? Because technically he killed himself. I was just a... passing influence."
>>
>>24706411
gravity is a bitch!
>>
>>24706345
If possible to do this silently let Ma G know to prepare for a fight and if possible to so it undetected get started on hacking their systems.

"No, I didn't kill them. I did however kill the one who killed them if that makes you feel better."
>>
>>24706345
"no they were killed by their so called 'employer' I was stuck in the suit they were getting ready to load it on a ship when he showed up in a ,believe it or not, MS and basically said they had outlived their usefulness they tried to kill him but he annihilated them before they could do anything."
if we have them it might be a good idea to show the battle logs to show we're not kidding
>>
>>24706345
"Not the ones that took it from the museum, I was incapacitated at the time. Those guys were killed by Manos and his black, U.E. looking suit when he tried to take the Gundam before they got it to their ship. HE then died by underestimating gravity while trying to kill me"
>>
>>24706421
indeed
>>
>>24706345
Tell him the one who killed them was the one who hired them.
>>
While we're waiting for Crosswire to write the next post, is anyone a little bit peeved that Mellis was captured in the dumbest of ways?
"He beat me at video games, so I'm gonna follow this obviously evil kid around to show me stuff." Good Lord, our tactical genius needs a smarter not-girlfriend.
>>
>>24706588
There's always Ma G, or the mechanic.
>>
>>24706588
that is yu-gi-oh level dumb
>>
>>24706588

Well, she is impulsive and stubborn, and really, REALLY hates to lose. The fact that she plays MS sims competitively for money must have exacerbated her frustration of losing to a little kid like Desil. Also, Desil has crazy psychic powers and is a master manipulator in the show, and targetted her because she was an X-Rounder.

>>24706644
But yeah, it kind of is.
>>
>>24706588
I agree as soon as she show up and we learn that we'll need to point it out
>>
>>24706451
>>24706449
You explain to him that you were incapacitated at the time and that Manos killed them in a strange black suit. You tell him you killed Manos, technically anyway and send him the combat logs to prove it.

The old man is silent for quite a while before speaking again. "I appear I was mistaken to assume you killed my men. Since you killed the one who killed them, you have taken our revenge for us and for that I must thank you. I am known as Captain Blackmarsh and I am leader of this humble assembly of privateers. Normally I have no honor towards Federation scum, but since you obviously aren't a soldier I am in your debt. I will let your ship leave this space untouched, but only return if you wish to collect your debt..."

Captain Blackmarsh cuts off communication and the black ships begin to leave.
>>
>>24706746

"Huh. That went better than I thought it would."
>>
>>24706746
"That went better than expected. Also, seems like we've got ourselves a potential ally."
"So, if we fail in our mission to capture Grodek, do you guys think Blackmarsh will accept us into his crew?"
>>
>>24706746
let out the breath we didn't realize we were holding then >>24706777

>>
>>24706746

>>
>>24706777
>>24706797
>>24706799
>>24706863
You let out a sigh of relief and take a step back. "I have to say I'm surprise that didn't end up with some bullshit fight. Seriously, is that the only thing we've come across out here that didn't try to kill us? Never mind don't answer that" you hold up a hand and begin to walk out "Problem Solved, Crisis Averted, And now I'm going back to sleep."

No one seems inclined to stop you. So you go back to your room and crash on your bed uninhibited.

Today is Thursday, 3:30 PM and three days away from Fairdain. You completed just about everything you had planned.

Before you go to sleep, how do you think you should spend these last few days? Any other plans or ideas in mind Jake?
>>
>>24706951
Get as much practice with the group as possible, and see if the process of creating the cowls can't be automated. Ideally everyone get's one.
>>
>>24706951
Training should be our primary focus.
Also, discuss with our dad and the crew our plan for utilizing cyber warfare against the Diva.
Perhaps Ma G could help us make that virus that would stop or at least disable them.
>>
>>24706951

Well, since we accomplished weeks of work in 36 hours, when we wake up, let's test it. Now that we have the core transfer thing ready to go, we could also see if we can integrate Ma G with the Armstrong to boost its processing capabilities.
>>
>>24707012

Sounds good. Also, I advise customizing the Genoaces OSs to either compensate or enhance its assigned pilot. It would tie each pilot to a single Genoace, but the Benefit should outweigh the Cost...
>>
>>24706951
test our work, train as much as we can and see if we can figure a way to get an edge for the upcoming battle with the AGE-1
>>
>>24707043

Pretty sure the XM3 OS can't be calibrated like that. It just gives the pilot the ability to correct their Gundam's automatic movement functions on the fly. Not sure how you can improve on that.
>>
do we know what the AGE-1 is armed with?
>>
guys I just thought of something...what if flint try's to capture us and our gundam?
>>
>>24707082
Yes... and no. We don't have the blueprints, but we do have Flit's transcription of the AGE system. Technically, it can create all ay weapon it wants depending on the situation.
So knowing its base equipment isn't going to count for much. We can assume it's got similar weapon types to Crusader Gundam. As in, gun, sword, shield.

>>24707153
I don't know. What IF that happens? It's a moot point considering if he accomplished that, we would have lost the mission anyway. Frankly, them capturing us is far better than them killing us.
>>
>>24707082
basically AGE is a walking (flying?) giant DEUS EX MACHINA robot as it can create any weapon it wants in order to adapt to the situation
>>
>>24706951
See if we can get the mechanics to make another couple of beam cloaks for the Genoaces and try to integrate Ma G into the Armstrong.
>>
>>24707207
>>24707248
well...we are proper fucked
>>
>>24707309

Welcome to Gundam AGE Quest.
>>
>>24707248
It can't run out of materials?
>>
>>24707327

To my knowledge it does not follow the laws of conventional physics.
>>
>>24707309
kinda yeah the good thing is that it takes a while for the weapon to be created, and since the AGE factory is ,in my understanding, not IN the gundam if we can destroy/disable it we'll have a chance
>>24707327
maybe? I never watched the show but I doubt it because 'fuck laws of physics I have a gundam' is pretty frequent in the shows
>>
>>24707327
>>24707392
(The AGE Builder uses raw material ingots to make the parts from scratch. It can run out of materials and it can easily be destroyed.)
>>24707012
After resting the first thing you decide to do is test out the memory core you put in the Gundam. You run a couple of tests, using the sensors to analyze information and storing it on the memory core. Then you practice loading Ma G up into your phone. Everyone works fantastic, no wonder you pissed yourself.

>>24707012
>>24707274
"Hey Ma G, since I can carry you around in my Cellphone, do you think I could install you into the Armstrong?" You ask, curious to see if you can improve the ship.

"I believe I have stated before that the ships systems are too old for me to properly function. You could upload me, but it would not have any significant changes in performance to the ship"

You hop out of the cockpit and approach Liz. You talk to her about your Anti-Beam cloak and propose making for the Genoaces. They don't have enough of the memory cloth you 'borrowed' to make enough for the Genoaces, but they could just use regular tarps instead. The anti-beam coating on the cloth would have the same effect.

The machineshops on the Armstrong are pretty crude though, so it'll take about three days to make five of them for all the Genoaces, and if they do that they'll have to skimp out on disarming the U.E. Mobile suit you caught.

What should they do Jake?
>>
>>24707424

The sooner we work out what the U.E.s are made of, the better. This shit is technology completely unknown to us, and there are plenty of other ways we can improve the performance of the geoaces than anti-beam coating.
>>
>>24707424

Dissasembling the U.E. MSs is priority. If we can learn the secret to their armour, we can upgrade our own to further our combat effectiveness. Also, their weapons could allow us to improve those which we currently have...

all in all, Advanced Tech over ABTarps...
>>
>>24707424
Disarm the UE suit (we really don't want that thing going off,) and then use whatever time or spare crew she has to make as many of the Cloaks as possible.
>>
>>24707518
this!
>>
>>24707518
Seconding this.
In the meantime, training.
>>
>>24707518
"No, I want you to disarm that suit as fast as possible without blowing yourselves up. Once your don try to make as many Anti-Beam Cloaks as possible"

Liz nods her head and begins to order the Engineers to get back to work on the suit.
>>24707719
In the meantime you decide you should spend the rest of the time on training. However you only have three days, so what kinds of training exercises should you and the others focus on?

Well Jake?
>>
>>24707767

Whatever helps us practice with the new XM3 operating system. I recommend close-quarters combat training with Excalibur. That beastly blade needs some love.
>>
>>24707767
Something low impact.
Maybe Combat Maneuvering drills?
>>
>>24707767
Concentrated fire training. Teach them how all shoot at one target to take it out in one go.
>>
>>24707815
Some combat tricks would be nice.
Perhaps dad could teach us some dirty tricks and tactics.
>>
>>24707767
two days of training using the full solid cowl one where we go full ranged and another where we try to hit them with our sword only. it'll give us more training using the cowl and mele experience which is always good
>>
>>24707392
The AGE system is composed of three parts:
1. The AGE Gundam itself.

2. The AGE Device. A portable computer that primarily serves as a data gathering and storage system for performance analysis. Has to be plugged into the Gundam's controls for the mobile suit to operate.

3. The AGE Builder. A rapid prototyping machine that can quickly build new parts, together with an AI that can design new machines on its own. It can create new weapons pretty fast, but major system overhauls like the equipment packs take so long that only a few get made for each generation of AGE.

So what it all comes together to is that Flit will be able to make minor adaptations pretty quickly, but major upgrades are going to be "dramatic mid-scene powerup" territory rather than something he does constantly. Also, the upgrades don't just appear on the Gundam, they have to be flown out via a little cargo shuttle thing. So we can probably shoot down his equipment in-flight.
>>
>>24707932

Okay, that's not quite as bad as I thought it would be.
We would have read all that in the AGE-1 concept manual, so I guess this info would be known to Jake provided he kept this in mind.
>>
>>24708008
Agreed. I kinda feared this thing was some sort of Blue Beetle expy, able to change and produce weapons and tech out of nowhere.
So, since its AGE Builder can be targeted, can we make that virus we've been talking about target it specifically? Or are we going to try to shut down the entire Diva and the Gundams aboard?
>>
>>24707932
>>24708008
then my plan is as follow, we take on the AGE-1 alone while our dad and 1 maybe 2 other Genoace fight against the other ace while the remain Genoace destroy the "upgrade bonuses"
>>
>>24707932
It's funny because the enemies actually DO try to shoot down the weapons in transit but it never works.

>>24707424
I would say fire drills and firefights in gravity. If they need to rely on overcharge, they need to be damn accurate, and there's the possibility we might have to fight in Fardain itself, which has gravity. We don't have any indication the magic schoolbus kids have experience with that.
>>
>>24708115
> We don't have any indication the magic schoolbus kids have experience with that.
That's a good point. So far, they've only fought in space.
We should talk with them and check if they have any experience with fighting in gravity.

Seems to me like disabling his Gundam's AI would be the only thing that would be conceptually possible and most advantageous to us, but it's been established that Ma G would need to take 3 to 5 minutes trying to hack AGE-1's system, and during that time we'd be without a combat AI, gimping us for a few precious minutes.

>>24708115
>It's funny because the enemies actually DO try to shoot down the weapons in transit but it never works.
Were they ever in a prototype Gundam unit, and tried to intercept it with their own body? Maybe we can hijack Flit's upgrades.

dude what

>>
>>24708171
> Maybe we can hijack Flit's upgrades.
... why did no one think of that before? that an actually neat idea they may not work though
>>
I think that individual Specialisation within Squad Tactics is best. We have a dedicated sniper, a CQC unit, a Support unit and an all rounder. Us and Dad are external Support units due to the capacity to utilize unconventional tactics against the enemy...

I also still advocate customising each of the Genoace's OSs to enhance the pilots natural affinity skills...
>>
>>24708172
The original gundam never shows up in the series. You just see it in a stylized painting.
>>
>>24708115
>It's funny because the enemies actually DO try to shoot down the weapons in transit but it never works.

Which is odd, as all of the UE suits are equipped with beam vulcan guns. You'd think a weapon like that would be really good at interception. Frigging plot armor.
>>
>>24708171
> it's been established that Ma G would need to take 3 to 5 minutes trying to hack AGE-1's system
That's why we're going to try to do that while communicating with them.
We established that Ma G can hack in through an open communication channel. So, while we're talking, she goes in and hacks that shit.
We only need to keep the finger on the trigger should things go sour.

It won't work. The AGE-1's wears are pretty much new arms and legs. Ours don't come off.

Besides, do you really think that upgrades for an MS almost 120 years newer than our own would be compatible?
>>
>>24708171
>Seems to me like disabling his Gundam's AI would be the only thing that would be conceptually possible and most advantageous to us, but it's been established that Ma G would need to take 3 to 5 minutes trying to hack AGE-1's system, and during that time we'd be without a combat AI, gimping us for a few precious minutes.

This is also assuming that Flit wouldn't have the skills to counterhack us (which he probably does). Plus, he has a COMPETENT bridge crew to support him as well.
>>
>>24708271
A problem would arise if they detect someone trying to break through the firewall, and then any possible negotiations would go out the window.
>>
>>24708295
Shit.... we better start preparing our viruses early...this is like hacking the gibson
>>
Is the AGE builder unit situated within a hanger? If so then could we just hack the hanger door controls and seal them so it can't deliver any parts?
Or even just Hack the Builder unit and make it produce useless parts which are prone to Zudah levels of malfunction?
>>
>>24708313
That's why we're going in through the colony.

The colony is in civil war, right?
So, we change our attacking point from time to time, claim how it's an automated process due to the parties in the war constantly trying to outmaneuver each other.
You know, change the signal and the frequency periodically (attack from different angles) so that our communication cannot be deciphered and tracked.
>>
>>24708350
that's gonna be a hard one since let's not forget flit could possibly remotely access the AGE Builder from the gundam.
>>
>>24708350
You're making it sound like electronic warfare isn't something people have considered in the past 100 years.
>>
>>24708115
(There isn't really any way to train under gravity inside of a ship. The gravity block on the ship can't fit a mobile suit)
>>24707855
>>24707890
You don't have a lot of time to train, you'd like to work on a lot of stuff but you decide to have everyone focus on fire training. Dad acts as a target for everyone else since he's pretty well trained as it is.
>>24708234
You work on specialization and manage to get some squad tactics tips from your Dad as you train in the Solid Cowl to try and get used to the extra weight.
>>24708008

During breaks you look over the AGE Concept Essay trying to find a good solution. You know from Ralphie that the ship can launch upgrades for the Gundam and that they are build by the "AGE Builder" as it's called, with the data being collected by the Gundam itself. You don't know how long it'll take but even with a high precision machine it would take quite a bit.

You could always try uploading a virus to the ship, or the Gundam, or the AGE Builder itself, but you don't know what kind of counter measures they have. You don't know where inside the ship this "AGE Builder" is though, all you know it and the Gundam are somewhere on board.

Damn it, any ideas Jake? You need a plan of action before you reach the colony and you only have three days to prepare.

>>
>>24708422

They have been there less than a week if they went straight from Nora to Fardain.
>>
>>24708438
She'd actually be on par with pre-Silver Chalice Treaty military tech. There was some pretty crazy shit being thrown around during that period. The Fed army sucks so much now because they deliberately destroyed all weapons data as part of the Treaty.
>>
>>24708462
there's the EXA-DB remember. IIRC It's like the codex of all Pre Silver Chalice tech. That's how the U.E/Vagan got their start.
>>
>>24708462

Fair enough. I would say that even the tech that the Vagan's found isn't as advanced as MADNUG.
>>
>>24708462
To put things in perspective, a single pre-AG MOOK suit would outclass anything the Feds or UE could bring to the table 1v1, including prototypes. They even had control systems where pilots could control HUNDREDS of mobile suits at once.

Also, UE tech is actually based on salvaged weapons data from a pre-AG database.
>>
>>24708486
Yes, but at this point in the timeline EXA-DB is considered a myth, and only the higher echelons know if of it. The UE also only have a incomplete version with a fraction of the data.
>>
>>24708414
>You need a plan of action before you reach the colony and you only have three days to prepare.
We have the core transfer system for Ma G now, we have the cowl system, we have a crew of surprisingly competent geoace pilots, Jack of Pumpkins, and a kickass Gundam that we don't even fully understand yet.

Now we need to figure out how to win with this setup if negotiations go sour.
>>
>>24708547
True, argh...how can we do this...isn't there some way we could like pull a Trojan horse or some kind like hijack the data from flit's AGE to us?
>>
>>24708518
Really? Where was that mentioned? I don't really remember them talking much about the pre-AGE tech aside from implications from what the EXA-DB contained.
>>
>>24708565
What we need to do is figure out how to pierce plot armor.
>>
>>24708599

If there is, we'll need to rely on Ma G. She's really our most precious asset when figuring out how to counter the AGE-1.
>>
>>24708610
It came from a conversation between Ezelcant and Zeheart, where Ezelcant lists off some examples of crazy pre-AG tech to stress how important finding EXA-DB is.
>>
>>24708649
I must have forgotten that bit. I'll have to check that episode.
>>
>>24708628

usually done with either stronger plot armour OR weakening the plot armour via Strategic Choices!
though weakening takes a very long time as Plot armour has a low depreciation value...
>>
That hacking is still our best bet.
Perhaps we should stay on the Armstrong while the rest of the crew slows them down and buys us time to hack in.
I doubt that they'll kill complete rookies, especially if we act like we can't even sit upright in a Gundam.
Then, after we've hacked, our Gundam gets out and kicks their ass.

...can we use our Spiral Power?
>>
>>24708692
That, or we end up not fighting them at all. Depends on what OP has up his sleeve and how clever we are.
>>
>>24708674
Also, there was SID, which was basically a mobile suit with a fully functional AI, cloaking device, spammable battleship grade lasers, and was fast enough to put every other dedicated speedster mobile suit to shame.
>>
>>24708711
Spiral power does not exist in Gundam AGE. We also are not (to our knowledge) an X-Rounder, nor do we have any access to some sort of AGE-4 Burst Mode, unless our mech has some sweet functions that we never knew about a-la Big O.
>>
>>24708234
I say we use the OS and combat data to have our habits and our dad's added as part of the motion control data.

(It takes two weeks to get from Nora to Fairdain. The Diva had been traveling for 6 days. It takes 1 week and 1 day to get to Fairdain from Zarth. So we'll get to Fairdain shortly after they do, we would have gotten there before them but we had to avoid that U.E. ship which cost us time)
>>24708565
The Gundam will be your biggest obscale. You have Ma G to help, but you need to know what you want to do before hand or else you'll be screwed. You could try uploading a virus, but you don't know the counter measures of the Diva, Gundam or the "Builder".

>>24708711
>>24708722
Hopefully you won't have to fight, but you have to prepare. At least trying to hack would give you a shot. So what's it going to be? The Ship, Suit or the Builder? Or did you have something else in mind Jake?
>>
>>24708817
If we hack the ship, can we control it?
Worst case scenario, we hack the ship and threaten them with opening all the airlocks and killing everyone on board if they don't surrender.
It's not a fair move, but fuck it, neither are they with getting the best pilot, best ship and a manufacturing plant.
>>
>>24708850
>Worst case scenario, we hack the ship and threaten them with opening all the airlocks and killing everyone on board if they don't surrender.

Won't work because the crew are required to wear environment suits in battle situations.
>>
>>24708817
We should talk about the possibility of uploading a virus to AGE-1 through the Fardain's remote communications with Dorothy Ann and our Dad.
We could also try hacking the Diva as well, throwing off combat operations.
>>
>>24708861
So that option's out. We're going for the Gundam, then.
>>
>>24708879
Or we force it to crash onto whatever solid surface (besides the colony) there's nearby while shooting at their own troops.
>>
>>24708909
>>24708861
>>24708850
You could try to hack the ship. The crew wouldn't be in environmental suits if they weren't expecting a fight. However hacking the ship might alert them as they start to lose control of various systems.

If you hack the Builder you don't know if the damage will be all that significant outside of them having to reset it. You don't know enough about the Builder to know.

The other Gundam could have counter-measures against this kind of thing, or it could be totally naked. Flit seems pretty damn smart, he doesn't seem to be stupid however at the same time he doesn't think of anything like you know, using the AGE Builder to make more Gundams.
>>
>>24708985
Well, I'm stumped. Unless Dorothy or our dad can provide some insight, there's really nothing else we can do at this point besides try to intercept and destroy what the Builder craps out.
>>
>>24709085
I think we are going to have to fight them...
>>
>>24709118

Or talk to them. Or both. Most likely both.
>>
>>24708985
Where would a fellow quest runner drop you a line?
>>
>>24708985
I say we take a chance and hack the Gundam. If we can't stop it completely, we can at least try to slow it down, or disable its weaponry.

Besides, it's Fardain Arc Flit we're dealing with here; His X-rounder powers haven't really awoken yet, and he's only got the Titus Wear... Not that Jake would know that, of course. Woolf's more of a threat at this point, because he'll have the G-Exes.
>>
>>24708985
Well, the builder seems to be out, knowing how our hacking into it might have no effect.
So, either the Gundam or the ship.

If Ma G hacks this bastard, can we tell her to leave all the systems operational until we give the kill command?
You know, turn it off completely and at once instead of going system by system.
>>
>>24709190
And dad will be able to handle Woolf for us.
>>
>>24709230
It's likely she'll be detected as she's trying to crack the firewall, unless she's somehow got a way to conceal herself.
>>
>>24709231
I wouldn't be so sure about that; from what we've heard, they were on pretty even footing with each other before; who knows what kinds of upgrades Flit / the AGE system have given his suit now.
>>
>>24709259
Through a communication channel?
Or we come in peacefully and offer them our info on the UE. We send them a data package, and inside the package is the goddamn virus.
>>
>>24709231
Except our Dad has admitted Woolf is better than him, and he has a custom suit to top it off.

And I'm sure Largan is at least skilled enough to hold his own against the rest of the squad, considering he's actually a fully trained pilot (and was originally planned to pilot the Gundam).

Oh yeah, and by this point they all should have beam rifles rather than shitty beam spray guns.
>>
>>24709138
>>24709230
(Drop me a line? As in send me an email or chat?)
>>24709190
You decide to try and hack the Gundam. Even if it has countermeasures, Flit will probably be occupied with trying to fix what you caused.

Anything else you want to do during those three days Jake?
>>
>>24709231
Not really. Woolf upgrades to the G-Exes during the Fardain Arc, and it is a MAJOR step up from the Genoace Customs Jake's dad and he were using. The thing's beam sabers could slice through the heavily armored mooks like a hot knife through butter.
>>
>>24709300
That's... possible. They might see through our plan if we're unlucky, but if we manage to sneak a remote virus in, they're absolutely screwed.
Even though we have a U.E. captured, they're not likely to trust us since we ARE on a Federation ship.
>>
>>24709356
Email? Between quest runners?
>>
>>24709356
I guess try and do some proper research on Fardain itself? IIRC all we've heard about it is vague stories from our Dad and the crew.
>>
>>24709369
We show them proof. Also, we're the goddamn defectors, and come on, look at us.

>>24709356
Can we go with >>24709300 instead of hacking the Gundam? We still haven't really decided on that.
>>
Why don't we hijack the AGE Builder to send out custom parts such as a DODS Rifle for us or the Genoaces?
>>
>>24709414
The AGE Builder is inside the ship, right?
What if we make it build a huge bomb and detonate it inside the ship?
>>

Does Grodrek know the Feds actually sent us and our Gundam to take him in? He knows the Gundam exists, and that it's probably in Federation hands, but he doesn't know we're coming, right?

>>24709554
It's already painted yellow. Like a bus.
>>
>>24709445
>>24709409
(If you send them a virus via a data packet, it'll ruin all chances of negations and you will have to fight if they open it un-scanned that is)

>>24709436
(Actually Woolf's Genoace Custom used the DODS rifle when they ran into that UE ship in the debris field. Not that Jake would know it was compatible. Still, the AGE System itself doesn't launch the stuff, it's loaded into a container and launched out by the crew)

You do some asking around and search the web. It's a colony with two factions fighting over the territory inside of it, Zalam and Euba, two remnants of the many, many involved in the Colony Nation Wars. There are daily battles in the colony, to the point where the Federation Forces on the colony refuse to get involved.
>>
>>24709594

Any news reports about the presence of Grodrek, Flit, the Gundam, or the Diva? Or do we not have access to the media on the Armstrong?
>>
>>24709576
Grodrek knowingly mutinied against Federation operations and pretty stole a Federation ship. He knows very well that the Federation is going be coming after him. The reason he comes to Fardain is to recruit Zalam and Euba to his cause, because he knows he can't request reinforcements from the Federation.
>>

Instant emotional devastation.

In all seriousness, we should probably prepare that virus for if talking doesn't work. Otherwise, I guess try to train in any way you can for the next 3 days.
>>
I think we should at least try and talk before we do anything stupid. Understand why they're doing what they're doing, and let them know that we're supposed to bring them in, but we're not going to attack unless they provoke us.

If they ask why we have to do that, then we tell them straight up that if we don't bring back the Diva, we're going to end up incarcerated. Maybe we could tell them that if that doesn't pan out, we might just turn to privateering/space-piracy instead.

For all we know, they could have a perfectly legitimate reason for hijacking the Diva and mutinying against the Federation.
>>
>>24709878
Trying to talk with them is what we're going to do first.
We need to be prepared in case the talking gets us into shit and we face a superior foe.

>>24709846
Training and the virus are our best options so far.
If we only could decide what we're going to hack, it would be glorious. And how we're going to do it.
>>
>>24709750
(Damn we're getting off track. Alright, so Jack's gonna train with everyone in Specializing Unit Tactics and Firing practice, while he gets a virus ready to attack the Gundam with in case talks don't work. The Engineers will work on disarming the U.E suits self-destruct devices and will try to get at least one Anti-Beam Tarp done before you meet the Diva. You work your ass off in training and in preparations. You, Arnold, Ralphie, Carlos and Tim get pretty damn good in your different roles. The Full-Solid Cowl doesn’t seem that awkward and you know how much damage the Anti-Beam Damage can take before coming to pieces.
Programing wise you have a pain in the ass and barely get sleep, but Dorthy Ann gives you and hand and you manage to whip up a good one. For regular mobile suits it has an almost 100% guarantee to fuck up their operating system and make them freeze up completely, but with the Gundam you’re not sure what the success rate will be.
By the last day the engineers get done with U.E. suit they have just enough time to whip up an Anti-Beam Tarp for one of the Genoaces as the Colony comes into view.

You have 30 minutes before you arrive at the colony. Anything you want to say or do before you reach it?
>>
>>24710326
Give the anti-beam tarp to the Genoace Custom; Dad's going to need it.

As for what to say...
>"Listen. We're going in there with little to no idea why we've been chasing them down, other than the Federation wants the Diva back, and Grodek incarcerated. We don't know why they've mutinied, and I for one, want to find out why, if they'll tell us."
>>
>>24710326
First let's decide who gets the new anti-beam cloak. Talk it over with the pilots.
I personally recommend our dad get it since he'll likely be the one to take on Woolf since he knows his battle tactics best, even though he might be better, one or more of the Geoaces can back him up.

The Armstrong gets in contact with the Federation authorities on Fairdain, who are absolutely no help what so ever. Seeing as how they were bribed or threatened, the Armstrong continues to the docks of the Colony and there, sitting amongst the empty spaces was their target. The Diva. “This is Captain Grodrek of the Diva, who are you and why are you here?” Grodrek’s face appears on the screen and stares at Captain Frizzle.

“I am Captain Frizzle, I’m in charge of the Armstrong. Me and my crew have been ordered to bring you into custody under charges of mutineering” Mrs. Frizzle explains.

“I’m sorry but I won’t be coming with you. I have something of great importance to accomplish” Grodrek states firmly.

“My crew will be imprisoned if we return without you Captain Grodrek. I would like us to meet in the colony. My ship will dock with yours and I will meet you on neutral ground between our ships. No guns, no tricks, just you and I talking things over.” Mrs. Frizzle takes a deep breath. “I’d rather not like ether of our crews to get hurt from this.”

Grodrek takes a few moments to thing and eventually nods. “Agreed. But if anything happens to me, my ship will not hesitate to engage yours.”

“Mine will not hesitate ether…”

As Jake and the other wait in their suits, the order to standby for now is given over the comm systems as the Armstrong pulls into dock alongside the Diva. Each deploy boarding tubes that stretch out and connect to each other, creating a bridge between the two ships.

“No way. She’ll be under my complete control inside of that suit. Now get the other suits ready! I’m leaving now!” Desil floats up to his Zedas as the Rose-Red “Farsia” is finished being prepped.

“Hey! Don’t think you’re fighting this alone!” You call to the other Gundam, who stops and stares at you.

“W-what? Another Gundam? Who are you?” the image of a young blue hair-ed man around your age pops up on your screen.

“I’m Jake Crocker! I’m assuming your Flit Asuno?” You ask with a cocky smile.

“Yeah I’m Flit Asuno. How do you know my name?”

“I read your essay on the AGE System and learned that your family was the ones who made my Gundam in the first place. I was also sent here to arrest the guy in charge of your ship, but we can discuss this crap later, it’s time to fight the U.E. now!”

Your fathers suit stops in front of the white one. “Woolf? Is that you?”

“Jack? Hey long time now see! How’s the kid and wife doing?” Woolf asks, as if they were at a nextdoor BBQ and not on a soon-to be battlefield

“Oh you know, being forced to go on a military mission against all odds or face life in prison. You know, the usual stuff. Nice suit”

“Yep! It's called the G-Exes, made by old man Madorna himself. I bet I can take out more U.E. then you can in that old scrap bucket” Woolf boasts

“I bet your dead wrong!" Jack taunts

We don't know how well the Solid Cowl can tank a point-blank explosion either, so once we get the head separated from the body, we'll need to get the fuck out of there.

IC, we know the pilot is in the head.

OOC, we know the self-destruct signal comes from the cockpit. Ergo, lop the head off after our confrontation.
>>
>>24713212

It's not guaranteed if the cockpit merely holds the catalyst function for automatically self destructing upon critical system damage or if the pilot must activate it manually. That's not a risk we're willing to take with Mellis.
>>
>>24713113
“W-where am I?” Melis opens her eyes and blinks several times. Her head throbs worse than when she got hung over on a six pack of beer she stole off her Dad. She looks around and sees she’s in a strange cockpit, she then realizes she’s wearing an even stranger pilot suit and looking at the screens sees very strange mobile suits flying along with her.

“Ah! You’re awake! Didn't I tell you I’d show you a way to make you stronger!” Desil crackles over the comms, his Zedra flying up beside Melis’s suit.

“Wait a minute…you’re that kid! You fucking knocked me out! What the hell is going on? Is this some kind of sick joke? Where am I?” Melis yells, causing Desil to laugh louder.

“The only joke is on you! You’re under my complete control now inside of a very special mobile suit! I can control your suit to do whatever I wish now. With all that stuff in your head this should make things even with me and Flit!” Desil laughs again, a childish laugh but a fucked up one at that.

“My head full of stuff?” Melis’s head begins to hurt even more now that the sedatives full wear off, the pain growing and growing by the second.

“Yes! Your X-Rounder abilities sucked, so I had them cut open your head and put some stuff in there to make them stronger.”

“…So your telling me you kidnapped me by telling me you’d show me how to be better at the simulators, knocked me out, shaved my head and then had someone cut my head? And you expect me to go along with you?” Melis’s hands begin to shake on the controls, the pain in her head was blinding now, and she could barely keep her voice steady, tears welling up in her eyes.

“You don’t have a choice. I control you now!”

Suddenly Melis realizes the pain was being caused by Delis. Not a physical pain, no, a mental abstract pain that came from him merely existing near her. Suddenly, as if on queue the red Farsia stopped dead. Desil turning his Zedra and stopping as well. The other U.E suits fly on past.

“No one controls me. Especially little brats like you who make my head hurt!” The Farsia was moving under Melis’s control now, despite Desil focusing all of his X-Rounder powers to take control of it again. Small little pods flew out of the Farsia’s back and began circling the suit.

“W-what are you doing? How are you moving that suit! You shouldn't be able to do anything!” Desil draws his Zedra’s tail sword and lunges at the Farsia to skewed the cockpit. However the bits spread open like flower pods and scatter. They fire on Desil from several different directions. He fails to dodge in time and has his sword arm blown off for the trouble.

“SHUT UP!” Melis yells as the bits flew around, firing at Desil in rapid succession as they moved and darted around. Melis’s anger was focused into crushing Desil. Something about him made her want to destroy him. Desil was too busy worrying about the bits to see the Farsia itself fly up to him and grab his suit be the neck, grabbing his remaining arm to prevent him from using his beam saber.

“No, no, no, no, no, no, no!” Desil yells as the Farsia’s fingers pierce the Zedra’s neck and with one swift pull Melis rips the head off the Zedra before kicking the remains of the suit back and dissecting it with her bits, watching I explode in a glorious explosion. Before Melis can crush the head of the Zedra and Desil along with it, she gets a ‘pulse’ from somewhere in the distance. One, no, two other people who are making her head hurt. They need to be dealt with first. Tossing the Zedra head away like a piece of garbage, the Farsia rides it’s ‘pedestal’ towards the battle.

There are 30 some-odd U.E. Mobile suits headed your way your pilots are:
You (Jake Crocker)- Crusader Gundam/w Full Solid Cowl
Flit Asuno- AGE-1 Gundam Normal
Woolf- WMS-GEX1 G-Exes
Jack Crocker- Genoace Custom
Carlos- Genoace
Arnold- Genoace
Time- Genoace
Ralphie- Genoace
Largan Drace-Genoace

You have three minutes before U.E. are within firing range and both the Diva and Armstrong are docked and can’t leave port until they disconnect which can’t happen until the Captains come back.
What is your plan of action brave sir?

Well first off we tell Dorothy to radio Captain Frizzle and get her back here asap.
Second of all, we get into battle formation with us, Flit, dad, and Woolf at the front and center with the geoace pilots as wingmen. Making sure the snipers are the furthest back. Ready all weapons.

Fire when in range.

While we stand, we
fight. While we fight, we win. Just who do they think we are?"

“Any objections Woolf?” your father asks.

Woolf laughs. “Sounds like something you’d think of Jack. Flit, listen to what the kid has to say, make sure you and him don’t you get shot to hell!”

“Right…” Flit sounds like he isn't sure what to make of the situation, but doesn’t seem to have any problem with helping you out.

“Where the hell are the ships!” Carlos shouts, looking back to see the two connected. He quickly opens a comm channel. “Dorthy! What the hell is taking the Captains so long?”

“There’s a problem with the locks! We’re going to have to cut open the doors to let them back inside other ether ship! God damn piece of junk…” Carlos can hear her fiddling with a blow torch in the background.

“We’ll keep them busy long enough for you to get the Captains. Let’s do this!” You rocket forward, Flit following behind you as the Genoaces line up their sights, and open fire as the first wave of U.E. come into firing range.

The firing practice paid off as 4 of the suits go down in flames from the Genoaces alone, not counting the shots fired by Woolf and Dad. You whip out your sword and charge into the fray, heading straight for the heavier suits at the back. You cut through a ‘common type in your way and block the fire of passing U.E suits with the plates of the Solid Cowl.

Flit follows you with ease, wavering in and out of shots and shooting down two passing suits. As you reach the back line of ‘Assault’ Types.
>>
>>24714207

Keep heading for the Heavies and slice down anything in your way. For good measure, protect your head with the arthurian shield.

The Crossbow might not be able to take down the heavies, but Excalibur might have an easier time. Orient thrust away from incoming fire from their front and get "above" them, charging with the sword once you get a good angle.
>>
>>24713507
The enemy outnumber us three to one, Woolf is the only one with weapons that can effectively damage the Baqtos, and there's a new unit with unknown capabilities (Well, in character. We, on the other hand, know exactly how fucked we are against funnel weaponry).

This isn't a fight we can win straight-up. Make sure that the captains have been alerted and are on their way back to the ships. Meanwhile, we need to work on delaying tactics. We should pair off; having someone to cover everyone's back will help prevent us just getting swarmed by the enemy.

Jake and Flit should partner up; two Gundams working together should be a powerful deterrent. We both have weaponry heavy enough to take out the Gafrans, and with our Full Solid Cowl to tank while Flit uses his higher speed to outmaeuver we should be pretty effective.

Likewise, Jack should back up Woolf while he uses his beam sabers to take out the Baqtos. The Anti-Beam Tarp won't provide as much protection as our suit has, but it should be enough that he can harass the enemy and distract them from Woolf.

Finally, the Genoaces should focus on covering fire and targets of opportunity. They don't have to take anyone out, they just have to do enough to keep the enemy units afraid to advance too close.

We do that, we might be able to hold off long enough for the ships to launch. Or for Melis to arrive with the Farsia and kill Jake and Flit.

You find you can't properly use your shield with wearing the cowl, because you have to open the front plates to use your arms.

"Flit! Distract the 'Assault' suits! I can cleave them with this!" You pull out Excalibur and let Asuno rush forward to serve as the distraction.

"I don't think that sword will wo-" Asuno watches as the Assult suit follows him, allowing you to fly up behind and skewer the suit from behind, the Excalibur slicing through it's armor with ease.

Back with Dad and Woolf, things are going well, they have three of the Genoaces using the Spread guns in 'normal' mode to lay cover fire and the other three using them in overcharge mode to shoot down approaching suits. All the while pairing off with one another, Jack serving as the distraction and Woolf serving as the attacker.

However things are getting rough, the Assault U.E. are gunning for the Genoaces now, keeping them on the move and preventing them from properly attacking. The U.E. formation is advancing.

Common U.E. Suits destroyed: 7. 13 remaining
"Assault U.E Suits destroyed: 1, 9 remaining

You decide to focus on the "Assault" types giving the Genoaces shit. You turn to Flit to ask him a question.

>"Anything you've got that'll crack their armor, Flit? This could get repetitive and they'll reach the ships at this rate!"

Flit holsters the AGE-1's DODS rifle and takes out a javelin like weapon with a pinwheel shaped beam emitter on the end. four beam blades ignite from them and they begin to spin in a 'pizza cutter' like fashion.

"It's a new weapon the AGE system made yesterday after my battle with one of those 'assault' types. I don't know if it'll work, but there's only one way to find out!"

"That's the spirit. Now lets do this together!" You and Flit speed forward, cutting through the enemies back line of heavy suits. You help Flit get in close using the Solid Cowl and then the both of you mutilate two "Assault" Types each, the suits sparking and exploding behind you two as you cut through them in near unison.

However things aren't going very well back in front Ralphie, Tim and the Diva Genoace pilot Largan are being overwhelmed. Tim has already taken a few nasty shots.

All the while the remaining common types are giving Carlos and Arnold a hell of the time, it doesn't help Arnold is out of Spreadgun ammo now.

Okay, we'll go after the normal Woolf is attacking and flank him and cut him to bits while Flit takes out the one our Dad is after.

This'll free us our Dad to flank the ones on Carlos and draw the attention of the ones hitting Arnold. Those four should be mopped up pretty quickly which will allow for Carlos and Dad to move on to flanking the ones on the left and Arnold to do something with his lack of ammo.

Woolf since we're freeing him up should start on the ones being suppressed while being careful about the assaults. Us and Flit will go back to Assault hunting once we help out a bit with the normals.

Tim and Largan should switch places, or something like that, so that the damage doesn't get focused on just one person.

“Flit! Go back and help Arnold, he’s the one who’s out of ammo and dodging for his life. I’m going to help Tim!” You fly off to save Tim, who just got his Genoaces firing arm blown off by a Common U.E. unit.

You fly in, taking the hits that were meant for Tim as you fire your EM Crossbow blindly. You waste 6 shots, but hit three Common U.E. Units and destroy them. “Head back to the ship Tim! I’ll cover you!”

As you do this Flit moves in from behind the two Common U.E. harassing Arnold, shooting both of them in the back with his DODS rifle as they rushed into melee to end Arnold’s life.

“T-thanks!” he shouts.

“Its fine, go back and re-arm!” Flit turns to see Carlos wavering in and out of two Common U.E.’s crossfire, dodging shots like crazy. He lifts up his spread gun with only two shots left and takes aim. The U.E. take evasive maneuvers but Carlos head shots both of them like he knew where they were headed.

“Ah damn it, I’m out!” Carlos swears.

“Me too” Your Dad says, shooting down a common U.E.
Woolf is far in the back of the line trying to cut down a unusually pesky Assault unit

4 Common U.E. left
5 Assault U.E. Left, 1 being attacked by Woolf.
You have 14 shots left in your E.M. Crossbow.

What now Jake?
>>
>>24716573
Now that Woolf is pressuring the right flank, we're free up to take out the rest of those commons with the crossbow. If we get them all, rush the Assaults with Excalibur.
Flit did a great job keeping Arnold alive. Now he can get over here and help us with the rest.
>>
>>24716573
Okay, We'll sweep around to the left and behind the Assaults and start carving through, Flit hits them from the right and helps out Woolf. Largan and Ralphie keep up that delicious suppressing fire, we owe them one for just keeping them out of the game. Though they can switch to overcharge if they think they'll get hits now.

Dad and Carlos go back to Resupply, Tim stays out of the fight since he's down an arm, once Arnold is resupplied he'll help about the Regulars.

You go for the remaining Assault U.E. swooping in with your Excalibur as Woolf comes in from the side with his beam sabers. You use your Solid Cowl to blow the heavy duty shots and fly right into the two U.E. knocking them back and cleaving them with Excalibur and Woolf eviscerates the remaining two with ease.

“Your pretty good kid!” Woolf says as he flies in and distracts the four Common U.E. left, allowing Largan and Ralphie to overwhelm them with their remaining overcharged spread gun shots.

“You’re not too bad yourself!”
Looking around the battlefield you realize that all the enemies are dead and gone.

“We did it! We actually beat them!” Carlos cheers, only to get a bad feeling all of a sudden.
“What is that…it feels like…” Flit looks out into the distance as a sudden beam blast comes flying out of the darkness, narrowly hitting him.

“What the hell!” Carlos yells as a rose-red mobile suit flys towards them.

“There you are! You’re the ones making my head hurt! You have too die, both of you. NOW!” A familiar voice screams over the comms as Melis sends her bits out and surrounds Carlos and Flit.

Your father lands back in the hanger with Ralphie and Largan following close behind to load up as well, leaving only you, Woolf, Carlos and Flit on the field.

Start getting that Virus into her, if we can accelerate the process somehow do so, also, turn our cowl to Gurren Lagann to make her think of us and use the fact that we're big, heavy, and absurdly well armored due to the cowl to ram into her and do what we can to keep her off of the others.

simple solution is to remove the suits capacity to move or fight. cutting off the head, arms legs and disabling the Verniers should allow us to restrain her without accidently killing her...

Meta question; Is there a way to overcome the problem she has, or is it just death?
>>
>>24717896
She only reacts violently in the presense of X-Rounders. The implants installed in her were experimental and cause her extreme pain, or cause the illusion of extreme pain. So much so it drives her to kill any X-Rounder nearby. With proper corrective surgery and therapy she'll be fine, but until then you need to restrain her ass.

If it's anything like artificial newtypes, we probably need to quarantine her somewhere until people figure out what exactly makes X-Rounders tick.

Because goddamn, there's no range/detail limit on that shit. Kio sensed Vegan's ORBITAL STRIKE on the Fed's Orbital HQ from earth.

With most UC and some AU Gundams, Cyber Newtypes and their AU equivalents tend to take medicine to suppress the negative side effects of being artificially enhanced.

So best we can do for now is to get her doped up on painkillers until a more permanent solution can be found.
