Ladies, gentlemen, boys, girls, traps, trolls and unspecified space aliens that may or may not be monitoring the internet without our knowledge... It's time.

You are the Long Fangs tribe, a primitive tribe of peoples on the cusp of the Bronze Age. With the assistance of your heroes and the guidance of your gods, it falls to you to guide your people through the ages, steering them through good times and bad, towards their eventual, far-off destiny. Do you think you are up to the task? Can you (to steal a phrase) build a civilization to stand the test of time?

Mikuhla has departed with the sun people who came to visit the village, taking with him a small group of hunters who worship Ermetha.

Action Points: THREE

A) Send out scouts (specify direction)
B) Send some hunters out to hunt game and catch fish
C) Gather resources (not food)
D) Gather wild food in the forest
E) Have your wise ones try to solve a problem
F) Hold a cultural event (specify)
G) Craft specific objects
H) Send envoys to another tribe
I) Other
J) Ask the elders for advice (No cost)
>>
>>24687290
>B) Send some hunters out to hunt game and catch fish
Seems important, given food is low.
>D) Gather wild food in the forest
So let's get food twice.
>F) Hold a cultural event (specify)
And then have a 'We're not dead!' feast!
>>
>>24687379
I'll second this, but don't hunt in the forest. The herds are still recovering. And have Rina help with fishing. Have Gerin help with gathering.
>>
>>24687379

Should it be time we send our own priests out with their gods again? Get some more godlore?

Any ideas on how we can generate more godlore?
>>
>>24687290
Salmon run month, hurray!

B. Salmon run time. Hit it with Rinas underpriestess.

D. Gather fruits from the forest fruit glade and turn it into alcohol. We need more alcohol. Moooooooore!

G. Continue building the new walls.
>>
>>24687433
I'm kinda new to this thread, but we could try to find a god of Not Starving to Death?

Or perhaps something more sane, like a god of hunting or fishing?
>>
>>24687433
>>24687475
We need to hold cultural events to get more into godlore. We just need to keep pushing it, not like before when we just scrapped it after one feast.

Also we have a goddess of the river, who helps with the fishing, a wolf god /god of the forest, who helps with hunting and a goddess of the fields.
>>
>>24687457
Second.
>>
>>24687406
If the wild herds are recovering, and we're Completely out of meat, I think it's time to find new hunting grounds, or maybe even move to a new area to reside in.
>>
>>24687457

+1
>>
>>24687457
Whatever we do, have Gerin help with the gathering.
>>
>>24687513
We are currently looking into selectively breeding our own animals that we caught in the past.

We currently have rock wobblers (chickens), cows, boars and wolves (although we don't plan on eating them).

Also we of course have a river to fish from and unless we overdo the hunting, we shouldn't have too big of a problem with the meat.

No reason to move out yet.
>>
>>24687475
We actually have both of those. That said, the herds are scarce due to over hunting so we're relying on our massive farms and fishing for the most part.

Besides that, the harvest and salmon run are this month with the salmon run continuing into next month so we aren't going to starve.

The entire village is pleased to see the start of the salmon run season! While the Tillersfane family are focused on bringing in the harvest, everyone else charges to the river and starts spearing fish and replacing the traps. As is customary, a priestess of Chani is present to bless the event and just as always, there is a great bounty from the river, in spite of the priestess's inexperience.

Some of the tribe are desperate for alcohol. It's been an eternity since they had any. Some are so desperate, in fact, that the second there is even a HINT of a suggestion to gather more fruit and turn it into booze, there is a veritable stampede for baskets and a rush for the fruit trees. In a single moon, they are almost stripped bare, the bounty being carried to the village's storehouse, to be turned into berry liquor.

With harvest season in full swing, there's not much time for the village to work on constructing their new, half-stone walls, but they put a valiant effort into it, digging the ditch before the palisade. The wall is broken while they work, but the ditch and bank is plenty high enough to keep most casual predators out. And if it's not, torches and very sharp spears soon see them off!

EVENT
While trying to scavenge the fruit trees and berry bushes for any further fruits missed in the previous season's frenzy, a pair of young men from the village hear a sound coming from the branches of one of the trees. Sitting in the branches, one leg dangling down, is a handsome young man, dressed in the manner of the Spray Folk, playing a tune on a wooden flute. The pair are about to accost the man, when they notice what they took to be the fall leaves and the shadow of the branches, is in fact, a pair of russet-red fox ears and no less than seven waving tails. Slightly awed by the presence of the fox-spirit, the pair offer to share their lunch with the spirit. He happily accepts and eats more than his fair share, but the humans do not say a word about it.

When he is done picking his teeth, the fox smiles and thanks them for their hospitality, applauding their bravery that they did not simply turn and run. In return, he speaks to them of brewing, once they explain the reason why they had come to the glade. He teaches them that there is more than one way to distil the potent brew, before rising to depart. One of the tribesmen stops him, asking if this is the gift that was promised to Trym. The fox spirit simply blinks and laughs, shaking his head. "Not at all!" he says, "This is just my own gift for a welcome meal! Trym and the Old Wolf already have their gifts!" So saying, he wanders off in a lively manner, still playing upon his flute.

If there are two ways to brew alcohol, could there be even more?
> ??
Use the third one to break that tech lock.
>>
>>24688454
B. Finish up the salmon run with Rina's acolyte.

E. Look into this mead stuff. Could be used as a new trade item. Specifically, look into using our new honey resource to improve the taste or, dare I say, make a second type of mead?!

G. Continue on the walls.
>>
>>24688525
We already sent out long distance scouts and they should be back sometime soon.

As for the industrial issue, we lack a constant source of Tin so we need to do that before we can advance our tech in that direction. Hence our scouts being out and such.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtJ0EYA7bWGMdDR0U241Rk1qY3RVbjNROTZZa0gxc0E#gid=7

There's a bunch of basic information. There's different tabs in it, one of them about our heroes.
>>
>>24688616
Rina's young acolyte continues to bless the fishers harvesting the salmon run. Some fishers not the haul isn't quite as good this year, as it was last, but she just writes this off as Chani feeling a little neglected of late and suggests the fishers make more offerings, or the tribe otherwise show their devotion, if they wish for a good salmon run.

The wise ones and the two lucky gatherers look into the secret of mead-making the fox spirit gave them and to their great surprise, it works magnificently! The entire tribe celebrates having a new source of tasty (and potent) drink, with the drink itself! It's enjoyed by all, but much of the village awakes with throbbing headaches the next morning and several small, mostly unimportant articles are reported missing. Many of the revellers blame the fox spirits, claiming they caught sight of one or two joining the impromptu party last night.

Work continues apace on the walls and now the ditch and rampart is fully completed! All that remains now is to face it with stone and re-build the palisade on top!

F) To praise the abundant food we have lets celebrate Chani and Perwan. Also invite the other tribes to attend, with the exception of the Spray and Sun folk. Let them try our new delicacy mead! I have a feeling the earthsplitters may be the kind of people who will enjoy it!

I. Call upon Khione to bless this ceremony and the acts of kindness that we put on in her honor. We also let the other Gods know that this festival is to give thanks to them as well and they are welcome to join us.

F. Celebrate the beginning of the Snowstouch festival. It shall be a feast to all of the Gods but chiefly to Khione in remembrance for her loss of Svell during her time of the year. We shall take the month specifically to do good deeds towards our fellow villagers as well as those of the surrounding villages and contemplate the events of the year and hopes for the future.

H. Send out Khiones priests with 15 units of food to both the RBs and the ES for their less fortunate citizens in the spirit of better cultural understanding with instructions not to preach to the RBs unless they specifically ask. We should also sent along a couple hunters to keep the priests safe in case somebody wants to try and jack our goodwill shipment.

Lets just hold it to two actions this turn, I think

Though Khoine herself does not put in an appearance at the festivals, her priestess calls down the goddess's blessing and the light snowfall is taken as a sign of her favour. The other gods likewise do not appear in person, but the various priesthoods agree that they are well pleased by the festivities.

Snowstouch is officially opened and once again, it is a time for reflection and remembrance of the year past, as well as a time for community and hope for the year ahead. The celebrations are subdued, but honestly felt.

No-one likes travelling in winter, but none the less, Khoine's priestesses take a pair of rafts downriver, each with enough food to feed a small army for a month! No-one ever objects to free food, no matter how much bad blood lies between them and both the River Brothers and the Earthsplitters accept the gift happily.
