The boy seems to be taking stock of the situation when you see MANIA looking at you. She stares tilts her head at the boy and cracks her knuckles, clearly itching to take him down.

Lotus is standing apart from the boy, her blade already in her hand. She looks to you. "Chen, what's the plan?" She asks, though you are fairly certain she would like nothing more than to bolt.

You find something deeply disturbing about this boy as you slowly stand and start to back towards the entrance of the cathedral, gesturing for the others to follow you. As you back up you pull out your fans and get ready for an attack. "Hi there, strange, orange person. I am certain that there is a very good reason for you showing up, but we were just leaving, do don't mind us." You give your most reassuring smile as it sighs heavily while starting at you. "We, uh, don't mean any harm to you or anything, you friends with the chair?" You ask as you take a few more steps towards the door.

In an instant he is on you, swinging down with his twin short swords and leaving after images trailing behind him. Only your defensive posture managed to keep you from getting your head caved in, but he does not let up his assault for even a second, each of his blows creating a small explosion of blue flame against you.

You are lucky MANIA was so close, as she delivers a kick which requires him to raise a single hand to block. You snarl at him and throw out a spear of stone, but it just crumbles ineffectively against him as Lotus lunges at him and tries to remove his head from his body, a blow the strange boy unfortunately blocks.

You give a glance at his character data. "Kite" It says simply. No class information, no contact data, nothing, just Kite. The boy uses that opportunity to push you solidly into the door with some sort of technique. MANIA does not seem to take too kindly to this, however she is quickly laid low as well by a similar force. Oddly, it seems the boy is more focused on you two than Lotus, however she is casually blocked by the boy without him even looking. Areta tries to make a run for it, but Kite leaps forward and slashes her back causing her to scream. You use that opening to debuff Kite and buff MANIA. She takes to it happily and renews her assault which forces the boy to start focusing on her. You dash over to the fallen Areta and scoop her up into your arms before turning and making for the door. Lotus seems to catch your idea and you hand Areta off to her as you approach the warp portal. You stare at the church and from an explosion of azure flame MANIA comes flying down the walkway, landing a few feet from you and spitting out some blood. You move to ask her if she is alright but you see the disturbed smile on her face and her pupils little more than black pinpricks as she moves to run back towards the cathedral. You grab her shoulder and turn her towards you, just noticing the black dots surrounding the two of you as Kite walks through the cathedral doorways and stares at the pair of you. He levels his arm and you think you see something like a bracelet forming.

"Time and a place Mania." You tell her.

"Chen, if you do not let me go I will ravage your mind until there is nothing left." She coldly states making you slap her.

"Get a fucking hold of yourself you psychotic bitch! Thing of the mission, we have to run!" You shout making her shake her head, the AIDA calming down.

"I could probably modify an area sure, but I don't think I have enough of me to create an area. If you had a small area, like a guild house or a guild field like Moon Tree, then I could probably manage it. Otherwise I would need another field to work with." He explains as MANIA stares at him.

"This is Snark then?" She asks tilting her head.

"Yo!" He raises his hand in a lazy salute.

"How can-" You start but he passes a hand over your eyes and through small black dots you see a grey, six legged cat sitting by MANIA's feet.

"Her AIDA finished cooking, so she can see me when I project now. Do keep up Chen." He explains.

When you are about to object Lotus speaks up. "I think Mania is correct in her assumption that CC Corp is trying to replicate the situation which gave birth to the AI, but are failing. If we assume the comas from seven years ago were the birthing pains of the AI, then their actions make more sense. Further, the Epitaphs much have some correlation to the original AI creation, but it seems they do not have a handle on it. I d not have any knowledge of this Kite, but it seemed very focused on you and Mania." She states making you nod.

Moon Tree has a huge instanced area dedicated to their guild due to two things: their huge member base, and the fact that they're very prominent in-game as far as events and stuff go.

How about "Eclipse"?

Chen and his cohorts seem to be very involved with AIDA and the Epitaphs. AIDA is represented by a gathering of black dots, which could look like a shadowed sun. The Epitaphs deal with the phases of the Cursed Wave, which brings about the end of the world, turning it into an empty void. Though they may also pave the way for a new world to spring in its place; one world is eclipsed by the void.

Snark forms behind you as you stare at the creature, both of you curious as to what it is going to say.

"You are the guild master, huh? I have to make you do a quest but...." It takes a sip of his coffee. "Since you're the demon emperor I guess I don't have to, so that's a thing." He takes another sip of his coffee. "I'm Trap Grunty, I'm in charge of your guild." he takes another sip of coffee. "Ah, I just can't get motivated if it's a guy, why didn't you bring some women here?" He asks before drinking more coffee.

"Snark... could you please do your thing now?" You ask to which the AI gives a laugh before beginning to boil with black dots.

"Sure, sure, let me see..." He focuses and a single point of absolute darkness forms in front of him before he mutters "Snark's World" and the AIDA scatter to every corner of the guild house. When you manage to finally see your guild again, standing behind Trap Grunty is another one wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and his hands in his pockets.

Hey, I dunno if this is still being checked, but I think given anon's history with Haruko, it'd be a good idea to show up with some drinks and have a heart to heart after this quest. We need to salvage that relationship before it's too late.
