9th day of prophesy, 9 am, on the plains leading to the west most coast of Zipangu, region of Hrotio. Westmost flank of the battlefield, 3 hours before battle is joined.

Here you stand in the ruined fort of the forest, encircled and entrenched by a group of 300 Onis still managing to look relaxed despite the far away sounds of two armies marching on the horizon, thankfully muffled by the insane amounts of cluttered trees, which also act as a total barrier for possible views of the battlefield.

It’s a smart place for betrayal.

These Onis don’t seem to burden themselves with a lot of proper military etiquette and discipline, while you certainly feel watched by the group of tattooed girls none of the regular soldiers outside the ruined fort seem to mind your presence beside the few odd glance here and there and comment ranging from ‘’Who’s he?’’ to ‘’Feel like dragging him to the bushes?’’ you’ve been left to your own device so far, which you aren’t sure to take as a blessing.

Amarantha disappeared inside the chapel to accomplish god knows what and beside these 4 escorts, the inner sanctum of this fort is free of soldiers, you’ve walked around with Emeth trying hard not to make yourself suspicious and observed the chapel while giving the impression of a bored man and made certain to stay out of its immediate vicinity.

So far, you theorize that a good third of must be trapped in the forest due to the trees slowly encroaching upon its surface, you tried to look for some kind of broken window or opportune felled tree that could carry you discreetly inside but alas, fortune isn’t favoring you for there isn’t a single stained glass on its side and the stones are holding well enough to keep at bay most plants, you won’t really find any other way beside the double door at the front unless you decided to try your luck and disappear inside the forest.

Or, you could also send Emeth up on the roof, there’s a surprisingly good amount of cover that will keep her out of sight and if there’s a breach you can instruct her to come back and affirm your suspicion, but that’s only acting on hopes.

So far, you may very well be condemned to waiting; scouting your objective is hard enough, let alone busting inside without intelligence.

It would seem you are in the dreaded calm before the storm, but how should you proceed?

Overzealousness will definitely be your downfall, Onis are usually seen as a simple minded people but what you see around you aren’t soldiers ignoring the present threat, but warriors preparing for combat and the very possibility of never coming back, a rare and precious mindset for any leaders, one that certainly remind you of your own soldiers.

Striking thoughtlessly will be tantamount to suicide.

‘’Siggy?’’

Emeth soft voice along with the worry and empathy of the soul link is enough to keep your stress at a manageable level and you silently thank her by rubbing her head, the golem blink at the gesture and move slowly tilt her head, letting out a brief ‘’Ua…’’ as a tingling feeling invade her body.

Too bad you’ve got some scouting to do, you have already explored the chapel but a second run through is likely to show you something you missed, although you have to be careful for the 4 tattooed red Onis certainly like to keep a close eye on you, as such you’ll have to be even more careful but you know where to look this time.

Waiting simply isn’t going to help you.

Taking your bodyguard by the hand, you slowly move toward the right side of the desolate chapel, you see many ruined gothic decorations along with various holes in the wall and many stained glass shattered with vines creeping inside, the whole structure was definitely on the long side instead of large but, nevertheless, it must have been quite majestic in its past splendor.

You’ve got to find a way inside; there must be something you missed, although evading the many curious glances all around you is impossible so you try to make yourself as inconspicuous as possible and mind your distance

--

Thirty minutes later your efforts amounted to nothing, while the walls possessed many imperfections and breach all of them are much too small for you or Emeth to fit through which resulted in your current situation, although the golem for some reason seem to be enjoying yourself for she clung to you all the way and felt many little surge of emotions, even her cheek red and you had to concentrate hard to resist that distraction.

It doesn’t seem like she’s taking this seriously, and she most likely just gave the certainty that the two of you are lovers to the Onis.
In the end you let out a resigned sigh and glare at the door, then notice that two of the monsters have disappeared.

‘’Our chief express the interest in seeing you inside, please proceed.’’

One of the two speak clearly right as you are about to sit on the ground, her voice seem to make Emeth tense as she increase the strength in her hand, then finally let go.

‘’Did she express any reasons?’’

You say as you approach; only gaining a negative head shake for your trouble.

You immediately steel yourself before entering, you are not someone unknown to battle and as such, the stress that would cripple other men is reduced to a slight buzzing inside your head that constantly keep you awake, vigilant and paranoiac without looking over your shoulder every second.

The inside of the chapel look like some kind of forgotten ruin, benches, pillars, statues, glass and even the floor itself is ruined and reduced to rubbles with the light of the sun filtering in through numberless cracks, giving life to the many plants, you also see, up on the roof, a large hole that would easily fit someone like Emeth.

Further in is a single statue of a Lamia… no, a certain dragon. Made in some kind of white stones, the construct seem to have resisted the test of time and calamity that befell this fort, while you can’t see the expression great care went into it for the large claw hands and even the scales look authentic, if it weren’t for fact it’s a white statue covered not cared for who knows how long. Further inside, vegetation’s claimed everything else; the statue of the water dragon give you the impression of acting as a barrier, the fact you sense some magic inside is probably why you had this impression.

‘’Hey, welcome back’’

Amarantha Amisi wave at you, she’s sitting on the floor fiddling with one of her horn, beside her is the Blue Oni you caught a glimpse off and a few distance from each are the two others red Onis that you are now convinced must be some kind of shamans.

‘’Say, do you think Zipangu will manage to win this war, mister agent?’’

What a strange question, you aren’t close enough to be speaking face to face, the youthful voice of the chieftain resonate unnaturally inside the chapel, too and force you to stop.

As strangely as it may seem, you don’t feel any intimidation or hostility.

"It's not impossible.’’

You say with conviction, you had a few crash courses on Zipangu military and one thing is certain; if the alliance use its summoners and particularly strong monsters to they’re fullest, they’ll be able to grab victory.

‘’History has had unlikely victories for nations that seemed doomed before. It all depends on how well assets like us are used. Although being forced into the reserves makes me wonder if this is the best place for myself and your oni."

Everything flows out smoothly, as you approach the small group, stopping at a reasonable distance as your words resonated inside the dusty place. You finally figured out why you’ve been feeling a constant stream of magic all around you; the stones of this chapel are likely to be magic dampener, while they won’t weakened any of your spells it’s impossible for anyone outside to feel anything, meaning that they could have practiced a ritual right under your nose… and entering Focus won’t alert any of the outside Onis.

What the hell is this place?

‘’Mmh, well I hope you are right, it wouldn’t be a first for victory to be pulled out like that’’

The girl literally jump on her feet, you’ve had a good look at her before but now that you speak away from the eyes of the troops you can’t help but feel convinced that she’s… rather young, possibly still a teenager.

The tall, lean blue girl next to her is silent, and look at you in a way that can only be described as ‘’intense’’, you’ve got no idea what’s going on behind those glowering red eyes of hers, you could swear you just grew another arm with the way she’s glaring at you.

‘’Y’know, thirty years ago this land faced a similar tragedy, too’’

She begins, turning her back to you and immediately being accompanied by the two tattooed Onis.

‘’Your loyal to your queen, or queens I should say and I respect that, but there’s been a whole lot of bad blood between the Onis and the rest of the island, especially after the fuck up of Tsukiyomi, would you like to see mister policemen?’’

Well now this is taking a rather interesting turn, you simply frown and stay silent as your target walk to the statue along with the entirety of her cohort.

‘’It’d be dumb for me to continue pretending I don’t even know why you’re here, but hey, would you like to see some buried secrets?’’

Then, finally, the blue girl talks. Her voice is smooth and seductive, very much unlike the rough edge possessed by each of the Onis you’ve talked with so far.

‘’Mainly, the tragedy related to the ‘’Potion of Induced Vampirism’’

What say, Siegfried?

"A 'potion of induced vampirism'?’’

You repeat the monster words, whom you presume to be the chieftain aid and/or advisor, while perusing everyone over.

Most of them are looking at Emeth instead of you, strangely enough. Nevertheless you certainly know what she’s talking about; that red potion given to you by that man back in the Rahall domain, you even went as far as getting a metal case to safely store it inside in the events of violence.

It really wouldn’t do to be manhandled by a big girl and have it break.

‘’I doubt such a thing is even possible, but if you have proof then show me."

A part of you is very curious; you never revealed that you had this thing to anyone and as such, you never had the chance of actually getting to know more about this drink, for now you’ll play along, this chain of events is likely to work in you favor.

‘’Oh, I do. I most certainly do. Maya, please?’’

The now dubbed blue Oni nods and slowly walks toward the Water Dragon statue, her feet echoes constantly inside the ruins, however

Amarantha force you to look back at her when she start talking.

‘’I’m not planning some kind of betrayal’’

What a bold lie… Emeth twitch slightly next to you and you spot the two shamans doing the same after her, this is some serious tension alright.

‘’I just want you to see a secret they didn’t want you to know’’

Then you feel a surge of magic, Maya embraced some kind of magical trance just like how Tsukiyomi and every other summoner, but hers is very different. Her tall, lean body is embraced by some kind of spirit; it comes to life briefly, looking like a large caricature you’ve seen in some of Zipangu art: a mask for a face, two large arms full of black furs and two hands with six fingers, the face look like some kind of weeping, screaming masculine…thing, but then it disappeared the moment it touched Orochi solar plexus.

Immediately there’s a surge of magic as well as an exhausts of quiet air from the end of the statue tail, thick creamy fog slowly filter out and start coloring the end of the chapel at remarkable speed, soon filling the entire horizon, vines, flowers and trees disappearing, some plants even literally retreating outside the… barrier?

‘’First off, 30 years ago the Onis started rebelling and Tsukiyomi domain went to war, but that’s old history, when tragedy truly occurred was… when the Demon Lord invaded and pressed both armies hard, soon enough the entire western peninsula was lost, until our central queen ‘’found’’ something quite unique, a potion to make warrior thrice as strong and twice as durable…’’

Amarantha pause as she looks toward the big fog gate, flanked by the two shamans.

‘’By necessity, Onis joined with Zipangu and only they truly had the courage to drink it’’

She laugh, a dejected, tired laugh then look back at you.

‘’I will’’

You say strongly, immediately walking to this fog gate with a good deal of anticipation, Emeth followed you with perfect synchronization and, when you almost brushed shoulders with the chieftain you had to repress the urge of skewering her, part of you doesn’t want to see this so called secret and just be done with your mission, but the prowess of blue Oni is certainly food for thought, that spirit was definitely physical and could potential block your projectiles, combined with the fact you are outnumbered two to one…

Stopping afore the phenomenon, the white, murky almost creamed air seem to be floating like water instead of proper fog and, curious, you touch it with your finger and feel a strange cold that is certainly out of place in this region; it’s gotten pretty hot already and its only morning.

You take a big breath to fill your bravado, Emeth is watching the Oni very carefully so, for now, you don’t fear backstabbing, and you take your bodyguard by the hand and enter as one.

There’s no resistance at all, it just feel like you are buffeted by a cold northern wind.

The other side is completely different from the thick forest of the region of Hrotio, in fact you are inside some kind of old, battered and crushed fortress much like the fort you were previously in, except here it extend to truly deserve the name of fortification, you don’t see any nature, only constructs and the sky has changed to a strange, dull metallic gray.

Then, Emeth sudden alarm come to you before the footstep of the duo of Shaman that exit the game, followed by Maya and then Amarantha, the squad don’t look the least bit surprised by their surroundings, it’s easy to see they’re very used to this place.

‘’You are familiar with closed worlds, yes?’’

Maya suddenly speak, the chieftain seems to be glaring at the sky and you nod to her, remembering Mylen magical spear.

‘’In the events of total loss and inevitable genocide of the island, several escapes were laid out in the hope of providing some inhabitants a mean of survival, although with time they… changed to store some of the most unwanted secrets, basically places like this litter the island and more often than night, they are littered with abomination’’

She stops, clearly enjoying her little speech.

‘’Would you like to proceed?’’

You could definitely try your hand at killing everyone now; they’ll be leading you inside a damn abandoned fortress inside an isolated world.

We want peace between man and monster, a lasting peace. We've been looping all this time trying to make that happen, only to fail each time. ‘’Yeah…sure’’

You take a step closer to Emeth whom is taking her job as protector very seriously; the various ruined piece of armors, broken blades and all around ruined walls provide a very interesting scenery that is ignored completely in favor of looking at the Onis.

She’s really diligent.

Maya, as well as one of the shamans walks forward, the tattooed red Onis give you a glance that you decide to describe as ‘’ferocious’’ for lack of a better term, she most likely want to say something but she’s thankfully minding herself thank to the presence of her leader.

‘’Well then…’’

Maya start as you find yourself in between the leader and her aid; you walk forward minding your tension as best you can, the bowels of the fortress are open in the manner of a completely shattered set of heavy double wooden doors and for a moment you wonder what the hell could have accomplished that, it’d take a catapult or a particularly strong mage…

‘’In essence, that potion is a godsend. It makes you strong, fast and tough with the possibility of regenerating wounds in the blink of an eye, but you se the important part lies in the fact that it contain a form of old corruption…’’

The blue girl trail off after that, her firm voice stop as you enter inside the castle, the Two shamans walk up to a set of unused, new looking torch and embrace they’re trance, both show a very unique… puppet of sort, one seem to be an over grown werewolf while the other is, look for look, a floating, living salamander, you can’t detail them any longer for they lit up the sticks in a breath sounding like an offended huff.

…so those things can breathe fire, good to know.

The silence is oppressing, beside the heavy sounds of metallic boots there isn’t a soul or faraway tinker to be heard, reinforcing a feeling of total isolation that almost make you want to speak up.

And then, as you walk across a set of bars, something most peculiar happen.

A arm shot out from the dark cell, the skin raking and breaking on the rusted bars, the fingers are long and more akin to deformed claws than what human should possess, it strike and aim toward your throat with surgical precision that is only stopped by the Golem who grab it by the wrist and twist in the same motion, producing a loud wet crack and a few bones to jut out.

The sudden aggression was almost enough to light up the powder keg, the two shaman immediately embraced they’re…thing while Amarantha jumped back, looking at you instead of the creature who, you see, possess two set of heads inside a completely black body that look like it emit a strange, dark fog.

Its eyes are glowing, its teeth are many, big and strangely square shaped, it’s looking at you in silence, never minding that, you see, start regenerating, causing the golem to break its wrist again.

‘’Well now, that one wasn’t there before’’

Maya speak with amusement, looking closer to peer it over.

‘’Hmm… ah yes, Old Corruption does very strange things to monsters bodies, this here… I can only guess, but I would say two close friends sharing the same sin ended up just like they wanted’’

…Part of you wants to skewer this abomination.

What should you do?

‘’The hell is this!?’’

You speak out of turn, taking a step backward and making your intention clear to Emeth to let the creature go, which she does, the thing immediately retreat back into the cell and disappearing in the dark, its smoking, pure jet black skin making it blend perfectly.
Maybe your mind is still reeling from the adrenaline but you can’t help but think of a certain feared monster back in the days of the Heroes, something called a ‘’grue’’.

‘’That was… one, maybe two of my countrymen’’

She speaks slowly, looking in the cell with some kind of forlorn expression that you remember seeing on Tsu and Ame a few, rare times.

‘’I devoted my life to that potion’’

Maya suddenly speak, the two chieftain have relaxed by now and the blue oni even went as far as crossing her arms.

‘’It was made by manipulating the Old Corruption along with the disease of Vampirism, the two were not related up until that point. To make a long, very, very long story short, it was made by an altruistic vampire that wanted to properly share his gifts with humanity in order to create good soldiers and this…’’

She gesture to the cell that look empty.

‘’…is the result’’

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

--

You continued into the fortress, walking for another good 30 minutes, the dingy hallway gave way to a set of numerous cells, each occupied by moaning inhabitants that started rattling they’re cages the moment they saw your group.

It was, quite plainly, impossible to believe they were proud strong Onis before the potion. You don’t know if you can even call them alive, they looked thin, famished and… rotting on their feet, skin turning a dead brownish red with purple pulp here and there and piece of bones showing, most of them had their fingers cut.

That’s not all, while most were in that undead form, others were completely transformed into… nightmarish shape, sins given form, perhaps that’s what the old monsters were. You heard the wail of a banshee, the creature reduced to some kind slimy cocoon attached to the wall, another was a human form looking like an insect, but without the elegance of monstergirls; eyes jutted all over its body with transparent, cut wings and spewing some kind of constant liquids…

Many, many such portraits, enough to shake Emeth resolve as you tried your best to push everything out and focus on your mission.

So this is Tsukiyomi greatest sin…

‘’The vast majority of them were Onis, you know?’’

Amarantha speak slowly.

‘’Were not done, but can you see now that your queen, and her daughter, aren’t perfect?’’

"I know no one is perfect.’’

You speak up strongly in order to be heard above the rattling, your nature is that of self-control, that doesn’t extend to acting as such, you prefer to act somewhat truthful to your emotions and actively let them fuel your voice in order to give the perfect impression.

It’s the basic for lying to someone after all.

‘’Everyone has their imperfections. It's just... Surprising what skeletons they have in their closet. Eye opening really."

You eye one of the wretched, as you’ve decides to call them, the… thing is slapping the bars, letting out various groan, whatever muscle or even sex it had is impossible to see, the decomposition is too advanced.

For a moment you wonder if plunging your angelic sword in its torso will liberate it from this unlife.

‘’Were here’’

One of the shamans speak, her voice is hoarse, almost faint, the result of contained emotions most likely.
You arrive at a strange square shaped room that must have been a dining room in the past thank to a few destroyed tables, however upon seeing the next abomination, Emeth hands flies to grab yours, taking it and squeezing forcefully, almost hurting while for the very first time, fear, is sent through the link.

Upon first inspection, it’s only a worm.

A big goddamn worm.

Probably a good 5 meters in length and as thick as a pillar, it is thankfully rolled up to not take up much space and you can only stare in utter disbelieve as you watch it slowly move. Its skin look earth and grass like, especially the top side that give you the impression of pulled roots while the rest of the body resemble leather, with strange circle protrusion like on its belly that must allow movement, the most impressive however, is the face.

The eyes glowers in blue above its giant, forever opened mouth that look like to have two set of jaws, a giant one in its outer shell and a smaller, vertical one inside that keep spewing out some kind of slimes bile.

Its eyes literally glower in the dark like Mylen, then close and open at uneven interval, sometime one after the other and you feel a strange feeling in your head that can only be explained as light vertigo, it comes and goes tough, so you doubt this beast is poisonous.

‘’Hi, mom’’

Without fear, Amarantha walk toward it, the three other Onis standing at safe distances, the giant creature inner mouth audibly clap and it slowly move toward the small girl, letting out its bile in the process that, upon touching the floor, disappear after bubbling up, leaving no trace.

The girl hand reach to rest upon the monster side, its many eyes open and close in what you can only think of as glee.

‘’You see, mister policeman…’’

For some reason you feel convinced that Amarantha is just a teenager.

‘’Many brave Onis willingly drank that potion, including our previous chieftain. She resisted its effect long enough to find a worthy man and… give me life, and here she is, still sane.’’

She stop, turning to look at you, her smile looks strangely self-derisive.

‘’My people give up they’re right to die, and we were reward by invading lizard man that took the entirety of our territories, is it a fair trade, mister policeman?’’

I can understand why they're angry, but doesn't Amarantha see that betraying Zipang to the Church is only going to harm the Monsters in the long run, and will negate all that was accomplished with the sacrifices of her people?

Also, did any of the wretches claw at the Oni? If they'll only attack us, then we'll need to delay killing Amarantha until we're near the exit to the prison. We don't want to end up fighting the bodyguards and the wretches at the same time.

Also, are we sure that we can exit this prison if the Oni are killed? Could the exit be tied to Maya?

>>
>>24654443
Exactly why this bitch dying ensures there will be no Church-Oni alliance. Only this chieftain has the lineage and the charisma to unite the divided factions under her banner. She goes, nobody else will be able to pull off such a large scale political move.

Thus, she dies, today.
>>
>>24654443
>right now the Onis are very divided
So Amarantha is part of the conservative and traditionalist Oni, who is a throwback to when they had greater territory?
And once she's dead, the traditionalists will have no legitimate heiress to rally around, ensuring that the remaining Oni complete their cultural integration with the Lizardfolk and the rest of Zipang.

Ruthless, but necessary.

Tsu turned her Mother into an abomination and they weren't really told about that little "side-effect" until they discovered it the hard way.

In other words, she pulled a Kyubey on her mom. No, she want's to make that bitch pay no matter what. The Church is simply a way to make that happen for her. And if she can get her people's lands back in the process hey, bonus.

Not going far enough anon, you're going to have to tie her own mother in there somehow. Like I said, logic isn't gonna do shit. We need an emotional angle on this for it to have any chance.

Also, do realize that any attempt to get her to fake her death will likely involve the revelation of our long term plan to her in order to convince her. Any one of those bodyguards could be church agents. Or worse, agents of the Whore known as Deruella. It gets out while we in church town we get burned for HERESY! If the whore gets wind of it she'll devise a counter and execute on it. Fucking us over *hard* at some point in the future.

You see now, hopefully, why this path's chances of success are next to nil. I would be advocating it were this not the case. Turn on your paranoia drive man, it's suicidal to have that thing deactivated in a warzone.

"No.’’

You don’t have to ask, this your honest opinion. Her people gave they’re life, hell beyond that, to save Zipangu. They damned themselves for this island, whether they were tricked or not remains to debate but it is still a simple, brilliant fact that fills you heart with a certain sadness and revolt.
You are a leader afore a soldier, each of those wretches and abominations must have been brilliant people to take this potion…

‘’No matter how dire the situation this... This is unforgivable.’’

You can’t say anymore more after that, you seriously doubt you’d be able to weave a convincing lie, even in this situation, in a way, it’s much easier to give the illusion you want instead of trying to reinforce your lie, beside, you are just voicing your own opinion, for all intent and purpose you are speaking the truth, for Tsu sin is indeed… unforgivable.

‘’I don’t care about forgiveness, pointing the finger in Tsukiyomi face and yelling won’t really accomplish anything…’’

The young Oni speaks slowly, still petting the worm that is indeed, her corrupted mother.
Maya and the two other escorts are holding a solemn silence, although they do stay weary of you and Emeth, you wonder though, what is this young leader thinking? She doesn’t seem to be someone that’d betray the island out of hatred and vengeance, someone like that can’t control themselves like she does. There’s no slight tightening of fist, her breath are controlled instead of the odd sporadic intakes, she always look forward, her jaw is perfectly maintained instead of clenched…

Right now you’re convinced, this girl is hiding a very deep sadness.

Ah… who said that Onis were simple minded?

Maybe it’s about time you try to go back, these girls showed you what they wanted and… it was certainly something, a dark side of Zipangu as it were every country has it ugly secrets but seeing it like this is… leaving quite the impression.

Part of you wonder; can you continue to love Tsukiyomi? Does she deserve it?

Maybe you should slap yourself for doubting her?

Before you speak, the worm slowly crawl toward, it’s amazing form easily tower over your puny self and of course, Emeth move in front of you, her body fill of tension and ready to move at a moment notice.

The creature doesn’t seem hostile, it simply stop and looks at you, then the golem, its many blue eyes shining with interest it simply stare, its inner mouth clapping audibly at time while bile slowly trickle down its mouth, you notice that the 4 Onis are looking with great interest and you almost speak up when you are suddenly interrupted.

An image flash in your mind, a young man in this very room with a much younger looking Maya and several other Onis, holding a sword as holy as yours, unfortunately the picture is pulled out of your mind before you can make heads or tails of it all and almost stumble, you would have if it weren’t for Emeth reflexes.

What…?

You hear another clap, followed by what you can only guess as a groan sounding like stepping into a pile of goo.

You don’t know she just showed you this, but your mind immediately to come to various conclusions.

First, this thing is telepathic.

Second, it read your mind.

Third, it probably took you for someone else.

Fourth, you can’t hide your intentions; it probably knew them the moment you stared at it when you felt that strange buzzing inside your head.

They'll feel that and rightly conclude that "the jig is up" like we did. They will then either try to wreck our shit or retreat and get whatever info they have to their masters. Both are not good, best not to risk this. We can essentially have a secret conversation between us, Amarantha, and her mom without any of the others knowing what the fuck is going on. Then, if we were able to convince her to fake her death (which she *must* do if we are to have any chance at all of succeeding in our little plan), "Ice Spikes out of Fucking Nowhere!" Someone could be scrying through their eyes and ears dude, gotta remember that angle as well.

See pic. I am leaving nothing, absolutely nothing to chance. I'll go nice guy route if I can but remember our situation. We have a mission, we *will* succeed in completing it. I feel like shit for bringing all this up, but someone has to be the voice cold, hard logic around here.

Well, first, if they try to wreck our shit, the Old Chieftain will know even before they consciously become aware of it (interesting thing about thoughts, the brain comes to a decision nearly a second before you consciously make a decision), and can either rewrite their mind, flood it with telepathic ECM, or tell us telepathically.
Also, they came here willingly, this close to a powerful telepath; would an infiltrator do that? Not to mention, since they've been here before, at best there's only Church agents since a Demon Lord infiltrator would have been found out by now.

Also, we're in an extradimensional space; would scrying even work through dimensional barriers?
Especially when this place was originally designed as a fail-safe contingency bunker?

It is still uncertain. You are making assumptions, I don't (or at least I try not to). Until we have that information we don't in fact know a damn thing. And we know that. Siggy isn't dumb, hell he's a scholar so he does have quite a bit of info, but he also knows what he does not know.

Plan around what you *know* to be the case, only taking calculated risks when appropriate. I *will* succeed in this little mission for love and peace, because I love "love and peace" and I'm willing to get my hands dirty if I have to. AIDA, Attention, Interest, Decision, Action.

Commitment is the resolution to follow through on your decisions. You decide to do X. All well and good. Commitment is the resolution to do it and keep doing it, period. Somehow, in some way, X will be achieved. Easy concept to grasp, but hey, philosophy is kind of my thing.

But that is unreasonable, just as much as assuming that if one of the two shamans or Maya were to be working for the Church that they would be able to interpret a telepathic scan as anything other than momentary disorientation.
You're making just as many assumptions, if not more. You only don't consider them assumptions because they fit into your paranoid narrative.
You have no facts to back up the idea that the two shamans with us or Maya are Church agents or Demon Lord infiltrators. No indications, no clues, nothing but your own paranoid assumptions.
Paranoia can get us into just as much trouble as it can save us.
>>
>>24657481

>>24657687

Exactly why I said I am quite keen on the prospects of not pissing it off. We'll be eaten head first and thus be able to sympathize with people like Mami and whoever it is that's gonna get CHOMP'd when I get to that point because I know it's coming. Either we have a good head start on it or we use it to convince Amarantha to fake her own death. That's really the only 2 ways we come out of this alive or alive and not a vampire slowly mutating into a horrible monster. He'd be a tentacle monster, he's got quite a libido.

And yes, we know the side effects, we just walked through a museum of them.

Before the start of this quest she was getting a regular dose of the Descartes from Siggy. Girls tend to be pretty nice to the ones that give them the D because it is precisely their D that they want.

Women are programed for monogamy it seems. Even in cultures where polygamy is completely acceptable there's still the position of "favorite" wife they all compete for. I forget his name, but this dude had a huge ass harem, but there was still that one girl. She died, he built the fucking Taj Mahal in her honor. I can tell you, the rest of the harem was always jealous of her. Reasons for that man.

Oh there's always one you'll like at least a little more than the others. It might depend on your mood or something but it'll always be there somehow. And hell, can you even quantify emotions beyond a *very* vague point? I mean you can feel them more intensely at points, but it's impossible to give them a true numerical value in the scientific sense. When you're mad it's "a little", "very", "Royally fucking", ect... Can't put a number on it. Won't say it's impossible, just saying we can't truly verify if we really do love them all "equally".

Its mostly the inquisition that get very rustled jimmies about monster fucking, the rest of the organisation is relatively lax in that area, at least, when they are in the middle of a war.

Maybe, maybe not. Wormbitch pretty much forces us to come to diplomatic terms, either with it, or its daughter. We either convince it that her daughter must die for the sake of the world, or we convince her daughter to give up on revenge and fake her own death.

If we can't do either we're gonna be on the wrong end of a CHOMP and/or become a vampire. In other words, we're totally fucked.

Also, it's one of only two options that doesn't lead to us likely having to drink that evil potion. Either we diplomance the daughter through the worm's telepathy (don't know who is or isn't an agent), or we convince the worm that she has to die.

These paths are likely one and the same, in trying to convince her to see reason, we will be showing the worm why we have to kill her if she won't. The worm can see our pain, it can see the proof of the loops for itself. It will understand, I hope. If both the worm and the daughter prove to be unreasonable people then we are fucked with a capital F.

I'm going to put something out there, but what if mother is actually evil and this is just an act to get us to kill big players and spread chaos?
Swapping to the other side invalidates our agreement with our brother for him to fight for the monsters so they'll be down a lot of men, and down in morale, taking out key human leaders fucks them over too.
