It is the year 20XX, or at least that's as good a guess as anyone's ever made. The world is a strange place now, you hear some say. No one is sure how it happened, but at some point the world turned to shit. Mankind struggles for survival in a barren wasteland littered by the ruins of its former glory. Gangs of brutal marauders prey on the weak, but at least they're human. Strange, savage creatures roam the land when the sun sets, slaughtering everyone and everything they encounter.

But, it is said that the darker the night, the brighter the stars! As humankind strives to survive this grim age, the light within people's souls awakens, seeking to vanquish the terrible night. And so, the question now is: what is the light that shines within your soul?

Character creation time, I think I covered all of the powers in JoJo but I'll take suggestions if I did leave anything out.

>The light of the sun: Yours is the power of the Ripple, the ability to empower oneself with and utilize the energy of the sun.

>The light of the spirit: Yours is the power to call upon a Stand, a supernatural ability which is believed to be a physical manifestation of a person's Ripple.

>The light of the golden rectangle: Yours is the power of the Spin, the ability to create a powerful spiraling force though the mathematical principle of the golden rectangle.

>The light of innovation: Though you lack the abilities of the former, you took a different approach to strenthening yourself: you are now more machine than man, seeking to surpass the very limits of your natural body.

>No light: You do not possess nor seek the light of humanity. You strive for powers others would rather forget about.

Ripple is easily just as interesting as Stands, since it can get amazingly creative. Ripple has a ton of applications and can be spread through almost anything, especially if that anything has been coated in some kind of oil. Liquids conduct ripple incredibly well, you see.

Welp can't go against this. Fuggin /tg/ made a bona-fide JoJo.

As a child you were part of the marauding gangs that roam the wastelands of the world, pillaging and brutalizing the weak to their black heart's desire. You were the son of the gang's head, and you were being groomed to follow in his footsteps. It wouldn't be a stretch to say you're ashamed of those days.

While you were still a boy, you were suddenly struck by a tremendous fever. You couldn't move, you couldn't talk, you barely kept on breathing as you drifted in and out of consciousness. Your gang took what little you had and dropped you off someplace, expecting you to die in a day at most. You would've, had it not been for a kindly man that picked you up and carried you to his village, where you were treated until you got better.

The fever left without warning and seemingly left no sign of its passing. You knew the truth, however. Whatever that fever was, it changed you.

We're taking it easy for now, we're good but not THAT good yet. Having said that, rubber bands win, so that's what we'll start with, with some minor PAWNCH skills.

Once the fever had gone, you found you could channel...something from within yourself. Some kind of energy. It was the best feeling you'd ever had, and so you dedicated yourself to exploring this new ability whenever you could. You figured out your breathing was key to using this new thing fairly quickly, and then you experimented further. Your body strengthened, your reflexes sharpened, but it took you some time to find a way to employ your new power in ways other than punching extra hard.

Entirely by accident, you discovered a box full of rubber bands of all sizes and colors. From what you knew of the old world, they were incredibly common back in the day, but fairly rare now that the means of making such things were lost. While playing with them, you accidentally infused your power into one and managed to leave a sizeable dent in a large rock. Suddenly, you had your own weapon, something no one else could do. You started wrapping the things around your forearms; forming large, flashy multicolored bands that soon became your trademark style, especially at night where the bands glow.

>I fucked up, meant to say they glow in the dark.

While this was going on, you repaid the village in any way you could. Had you met these people a day before your fever, you would've helped your dad and his men rob and murder them. But when you where at death's door and your own father had abandoned you, they took you in, shared their food, their water. You cried for a week straight when you had the strength to do so. You swore yourself you would never again do anything to harm those who didn't deserve it, while your hate of the marauders grew in line with your fondness for the people of Joestar Village. You spend your teenage years living with your saviours, it is many a year of shining sunlight, with no shadow in sight.

As you grew older and stronger, you started to fight against the bandit attacks rather than hide with the rest of the village. Most of them were and still are armed only with melee weapons and their muscles, while you could shoot your rubberbands farther each passing year. Going out to look for them is a giant pain in the ass, but you're adamant about recovering as many as you possibly can.

And on this day, night begins to fall for the first time in your life. The people panic, they run and scream, taking whatever they can out of their homes and starting a desperate march towards a cavern you'd never seen or heard about before. Everyone's too scared and busy lighting fires to explain what is wrong. Soon, the sun sets entirely. You never thought it could get this...dark, you can barely see anything a few feet past the torches and bonfires the villagers have lit. You hear the shrieking, however. It is a horrifying, unnatural sound that can't possibly come from any animal, much less a man. As the column of villagers flee towards the cave in a panic-fueled rush, you see a shambling shade, hidden within the dark of night.

What do you do?

You dash in taking long, flashy strides, body bent forward and arms going back and forth. You try to think of something cool to scream out loud, some kind of taunt to distract the creatures. You ain't got squat, you're gonna have to think long and hard about this when people aren't dying.

You grab a torch from one of the villagers mid stride, then leap dramatically into the shadows, towards the scream. You can make out the voice now, it's Rocko, one of the people who'd been digging the new well. You scream his name, and he screams yours, pleading for your help. Good, because it would seem kinda odd to be playing a racist rapist who happily slaughters bystanders for no reason and looks like Eminem.

Maybe we should expand it and use our feet to shoot rubber bands with excessive force like pic related.

You've had a few names throughout your life. Your father called you Ngiorious John, a name you could barely mouth, and you were originally known as Joey in the village. Now you're just Joe. Joe of Joestar Village.

While still in mid air, you slide a purple rubberband down from your right arm and into your hand. Taking a deep breath and careful aim, you charge the elastic projectile with your energy before letting go. The rubberband shoots out with resounding TWANG and pierces straight through the thing's chest. It literally just went straight through it like butter, that'd be a first. It howls in agony, clutching its chest as you land near Rocko.

The torchlight gives you a good look of the thing. It might have been a man, once. Now the resemblance only serves to make the creature all the more grotesque. It's pale, rotting skin clings to a frame so emanciated you can make out almost every bone in it's body. The hole in its chest, much larger than the rubberband you fired, smoulders and smells of rot and decay, but no blood comes out even though you can see your surroundings through it. Its head is completely devoid of hair and its features are ghastly, as if someone had stretched the skin over the bones. You can't help but notice the sharp fangs in the thing's mouth, and the look of hate in its eye.

Still howling, it lunges madly at you with a speed and strength you never thought possible. You don't have time to think, only to react.

>dodge the attack somehow
>Go for a counterattack, hit it as hard as you can

>lay on back
>rubber band on feet
>legs spread
>pull back a large phallic object

Dodge that attack, that'll set up the stumbling thing up for us to shoot a rubber band through its spine/neck.

Counter-srike :
We run in his direction, strap some power-infused rubber bands between our open arms, and cut right into the thing like butter.
And while doing so, we howl : "RUBBER CUT !!!"

I agree, the rubber band hurt him alot, better not mess with something that we don't understand while we have a simple path to victory in plain sight

Hook a band to it as we duck to the side of the charge. That way we can use its momentum to build up potential energy. Then we pull it at high speed into our ripple-powered fist.

Did we just cover ourselves in Tourniquets? Are we going to lose our limbs to loss of blood flow?

Lets try to trip the bastard, put a rubberband through its hip. Maybe we'll hit an artery too.

The thing is fast. Much faster than you thought, and MUCH faster than your reflexes. By the time you're rearing your fist it's already smashed straight into you. The impact rattles every fiber of your being, knocking the air out of your lungs and driving you into the ground. Hard. You hit the back of your head against a stone and you start to see flashing lights in front of you. Soon you feel the thing's hands wrapping around your throat. You try to squeeze out any inkling of energy you can into your hands but come up empty, you have no air in your lungs and you are being choked to death. You claw at your attacker's arms, but you're vaguely aware of the futility of it. You're fairly sure you're going to die.

The last thing you see before you black out is the thing's head exploding into a shower of gory fragments which soon land all over you. Your last thoughts are about whether that's reassuring or horrifying.

And that's it for the night, folks. I feel like I did a sub par job, and I apologize for taking so long with each post. I'll keep running this and try to get better at it, I hope you'll stick around.

Not sure when I'll run the next thread, though. My schedule's a bit wonky and that sucks, so I can't confirm a specific time. Would you be up for it tomorrow around...1-2 pm 4chan time?

I'm hoping that was a steel ball, personally. Spin and ripple: two great tastes that taste great together.

I'd like to, but I think I'll have to join later. Looking forward to it.

Oh yeah can we get this archived? Not the best of threads, but it'd be nice to have.

Shame I missed this. I need to get into Jojo and follow the fuck out of this quest.

For those who plan on participating: catchphrase, trademark pose and maybe a distinctive tic past wearing rubberbands on our arms.

Think about these, come up with something you'd like to see and we'll roll for it next quest, which will almost certainly start Monday April 29 at 1-2 4chan time.
>>
>>24522967
1-2 pm, btw, I might not run quests late at night anymore.
