Well, I'm doing it in a heavily-modified version of West End D6. Currently up to about 7 pages of material, including a (simple) gun generation system. I'm still struggling with ways to differentiate them in a system where weapons really only have 3 stats (range, accuracy modifier, base damage), although I'm adding a DH-like rate-of-fire system which seems to offer some decent gameplay options.
I did take the Corp-Soldier ideas and fucked with them a little, and I like Slag Harpies shifting into a slimegirl killmode as one of their "Hyper Mode" class options.

I kinda like Shadowrun's qualities system. It only works with that chargen system, though. Shadowrun is great for character versatility, though, since it doesn't have classes or any of that. So the Commando class would have different skilltrees like Engineer, Artillery, Tactician, Company-Specific branches, etc

I like that idea, but dividing them up that way is a little odd. It'd be better crunch-wise to do it based on how the characters tend to play. The Commando class pretty much has a turret (there could be an option for no turret, but I don't know how that would be done), and that effects the gameplay style, and Maya/Lilith's phase powers did the same in the game. What roles do we need to fill in combat? Each class doesn't need to fill that role, but instead needs to be able to fill that role, which will give the classes more versatility.

This is a decent start, although perhaps closer to a DnD alignment scale for shooting things than a true class system. A sniper can act as LR defense or support, for example, without stretching the imagination much at all. I don't really know how to stretch it, since DnD classes are fairly rigid, while Borderlands classes are definitely not. I think it should be a similar deal, just instead of building the skills around one person, it builds them around a type of character.

Three current class types:
Pet - spawns/'structs/summons a pet to aid them in combat.
Big Boom - one-shot, high power effects, like Phaselock, and effects that end/are consumed after enhancing one action, like Decepti0n and Phasing.
Hyper Mode (Berserking) - Character enters a special mode - Berserk, Gunzerk - which allows them to continuously do Very Bad Things to others for a while.
All the types overlap at higher sections of the skill trees: Pet may unlock a hyper-mode effect (Bottom half of Axton's Gunpowder tree, Mordecai's pickpockety-thing with Bloodwing, some of Gaige's abilities) or a Big Boom effect (Axton's pocket nuke, most of Gaige's abilities)

I agree with the argument against this when it was proposed: The marker thing shouldn't go any farther than a short description in the fluff. Anything else is reaching too far for it.

Regardless, a temporary slag power with a price could be a decent mechanic if done well.

The reason I like the marker thing is the bandits bringing in markered-up chicks to Jack, claiming they were sirens. If the markers really ARE giving them powers, even if it's short-lived, it'd tie in amusingly. MEATY (Strength; has a “con”-like function in this system)

Allocate out 18d6 among the attributes. You may give up one or more d6 to get “bonuses” - 3 permanent +1 bonuses, split out as you choose. If at any time a stat ends up with +3, add another d6 and cancel all bonuses. The limit on any one stat is normally 5d6, and the minimum is 2d6.
Starting characters also gain 8d6 to spend on Skills (not to be confused with Quirks or Action Skills). I swear it'll make sense when I finish the character sheet.

Personal wealth is measured in “Guns”, not dollars: a “Gun” is the amount of cash given by selling one gun to Marcus. Buying a gun takes 5-10x its resale value.

Orange, Cursed, Seraph and Pearlescent guns are unique treasures, and the return for selling them will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Note also that Blue and Purple guns will not usually be available for sale in Marcus Machines – he's a greedy murdering sonovabitch.
The “Greenie” is the standard measure of wealth on Pandora.

As for the procedurally-generated gun's, I've seen two solutions that might work. The first is to nix stat generation altogether, and give each weapon rigidly defined stats. (Possibly affected by rarity, but that could be nixed as well.) The second option is to only stat guns that players WANT to stat. Hell, it might be a good option to combine these two. Should help the GMs.

So, let's see what would happen at the end of combat.

Health levels:
Shield damaged – 1 level per Shield die. Some Shield abilities don't work when damaged, most don't work when it's depleted. Each level of Shield Damaged removes 1 shield die. Shield down – no penalties. Shield dice and abilities are generally ignored from here down.

Badass points:
Characters start off with one BADASS point. You can use it to do BADASS SHIT; declare that you're spending a BADASS point, describe the action you're attempting, and roll double your normal amount of dice for that action – ignoring modifiers for health level, elemental effects, etc. The GM will assign a difficulty number before the dice are rolled; if successful, you pull it off just as described, presumably to the accolades of your fellow players and the bandits/whores/Skags surrounding you.
Your first BADASS point (unlike your first dollar..) can never be taken from you; you receive a fresh BADASS point at the beginning of the next session if you're ever reduced to 0 points in-play.
If you use a BADASS point, and the action is deemed sufficiently bad-ass by both the GM and your fellow players, you can earn a new, bonus BADASS point for your future sessions. These points are only regenerated after the party gets some in-town downtime.
If, on the other hand, you use a BADASS point for what everyone else agrees are manky, weaselly purposes, you lose out on it (unless it's your last). You can use your Bad-assery to intimidate someone into giving you better toys, but it just makes you look like less of a Badass and more of a dick.

The Biggest Badass In the Room: The character with the most unused Badass Points in the party will be targeted more often than the other character by the fickle hand of Fate. Also, Bandit bullets.

Badass Enemies: Some enemies have BADASS points, and are generally of a much higher level than the fodder surrounding them. The GM is obliged to tell players when a Badass enemy appears. Watch out for Super Badasses! All Bosses are Badasses at a minimum.

Dahl:
Professional, disciplined, and well-paid. Advance in sections, using turrets to provide cover fire rather than wasting their own ammo. Most troopers don't carry MGs or rocket launchers – that's the turrets' job. As each section advances, its alternate takes careful, aimed burst-fire shots at exposed enemies, and section heavy weapons troopers use grenade launchers to lob bursts of shells into bunkers and behind linear cover.
Vehicles: Nimble pickup trucks with mounted weapons, designed to deploy and support individual Sections of 5 men and provide support. Runners for hunter-killer work and scouting.
Trooper: Carbine or SMG, backed up by a Repeater.
Section heavy weapons trooper: Grenade Launcher.
Section Leader: SMG and Repeater
Turret: HMG and frequently an RL.

Maliwan
In keeping with their corporate ethos - “Gods of the Battlefield” - Maliwan fields individual troopers with razor-honed skills and obscenely powerful weaponry. Their appearance is impeccable even in the field. Snipers hide in the hills ripping away their enemies' shields, while assault troopers in element-resistant powered armor spray rockets and elemental blasts into enemy ranks with lethal precision.
Vehicles: Taking suggestions.
Snipers: Sniper rifles and revolvers
Marines: Powered armor, shoulder-mounted rocket launcher, elemental throwers or SMGs
Engineers: SMGs, light powered armor with elemental melee weapons
Turrets: Elegant, autonomous, mounted with elemental throwers. Think a Portal turret with a flamethrower and a Shock SMG.

I really like the hoverbikes, fits their style. Idea - stealth mode bikes in the black Maliwan job. Ideal for snipers and other long-range fighters. Then a heavier hover-bargey thing with one 'droid driver and space for 4 Marines in pods on the sides.

Torgue uses monster trucks and motorcycles with V-12 engines at a minimum, with a fondness for putting ramjets in places they don't belong.

Vladof is basically Yugo technicals. Cheap, fragile, no HP, and automatic RLs/enormous gatling MG arrays in the ass end. Think the Ontos made to Warsaw Pact personal electronics standards.

Jakobs.. Why would you ever NOT drive a flatbed truck with wood paneling and a giant cartoon character shouting "back off, ya varmit" on the back window? Also hand-cranked gatling guns in the back.

so our deployable gun turrets do away with complicated targeting software and put you in the gunners seat and with out all those unnecessary electronic parts our turrets have 40% more damage output ammo than any other competing brand
