Wiki:
http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Blatant_Fetish_Quest

Previously on Blatant Fetish Quest, our protagonist, Max Power, learned that 'he' was actually a female with male genitalia, as a result of having an incubus as a father. Three years later, Max flew to Romania to enroll at the prestigious Scholomance, a school for magic, meeting Liz, your new girlfriend, on the way. On arriving in Romania, you learned that the Scholomance is extremely deadly and that only half of each class proceeds to the next grade each year.

You joined the Lotus prestige society, and befriended Lotuses. Upon arriving at the Scholomance, a city-sized school hidden in a cave that's bigger on the inside, you discovered a tower and found your father chained up in the basement. You're currently trying to balance Dextra Domini, rivals, commitments to your society, relationships, and studying while trying to survive.

You're half-way through November. Your first two dryads hatched and your mommy-instincts kicked into high gear. You survived a mysterious attacker. You've been perfecting your body.

You just studied some Sorcery with Lin.

What do you do now?

lets got more work in on the mind drill to recover memories from the meals.
>>

What alt mind drill? You've completely literally nothing. You haven't even figured out what all you need for ground work. Modifying the mind drill to operate on a platform that doesn't have Lin's mind and soul's unique natures will take months of stead work at the least.
>>

Completed, rather.
>>
>>24489373
o well then get to work on that then
>>
You decide to get to work on further understanding the framing of the ground work necessary to adapt the mind drill to a new function. You sit down in the sitting room and get to work trying to figure this out.

Roll Mind. You get a +2 for Focus, a +2 for Calm, and a +1 for Memory. I'll consider the first eight linked 1d100 rolls.

After a few hours of thinking, plotting, and research, you think you understand what will be necessary to lay the ground work for practical research into a memory recovery spell for personal and variable use. It should only take a few months of fairly extensive and rigorous research to put a prototype together if everything goes well.

It's now the early hours of the morning.

What do you do?

Indeed, let's do this.
>>
>>24489922
Damned two hours, we should halve our sleep again sooner or later.
>>
>>24490019
I figure the next time skip should be sorcery with Pierre and 2 rounds of mental augs with focus3 memory2 calm3 memory3 sanity1 and sleep1/8 being the big tickets in that order then sanity1 and mind shield 1
>>
>>24490106
is sleep 1/8 really worth it?
>>
You decide to head to bed and get a couple of hours of sleep with Liz. You head down, strip down, slip in under the covers and, in a few minutes, are asleep. You wake up a couple of hours later. The room is bathed in its usual dull glow from the ward marks on the walls. Liz is still asleep beside you.

We could keep on studying Sorcery, guys? Check on the kids?

Or hey. Let's look at our lab rat. See if any effects have shown up yet from our living alchemy experiment.

It means we can get a full eight hours sleep once every week or so, then stay awake non-stop.

Go check on Alison and Selene. I suggest we make some "mind puzzles" for Selene. If we don't have time for that, then enhance Gaviscon's Mind, since it's one of the saner individual in the tower.

So guys. Would it be annoying if I asked for an update on Liz and Lin's sheets? Since I've done it before (mostly later in the thread) and I was just wondering if that was getting annoying (and if I should stop and just let it come up naturally) or if it's totally fine to keep asking about it.
>>
>>24490489
I think it is fin and want it to but fem commenting/showing them would be nice.

Also that list of classmates she mentioned would be very nice.
>>
>>24490439
after class lets study with Pierre and find out who misery dextra is.
>>
>>24490557
Agreed, we could probably get that info out of him fairly easily now that the perception filter is in place.
>>
>>24490489
I'm in favor of looking a bit less at our stats and more at which actions would fit in-character. But since we have our sheet posted everytime anyway, I guess it isn't how our QM feels.
>>
>>24490582
I just use the sheets as a measure of how much progress the characters have made so far in their school career.

And it's useful to know what sorts of augments and/or foci Lin and Liz have gotten.
>>
>>24490605
I just like to know whether we have to push Max harder because Liz/Lin are completely outclassing her.
>>
>>24490636
>>24490636
these are why I like the sheet plus max has some idea of the stats. and foci
>>
>>24490636
Speaking of getting outclassed: since Living Alchemy is supposed to be pretty important for Lotus Members for competition in the later circles, I gotta ask.

Is it possible to "attach" spells onto objects like arrows? So that when the arrow hit somethings, the spell activates and is sort of released?

We could end up tricking out Max' arsenal.
>>
>>24490728
There are already explosive arrows in real life, no need for magic.
>>
You creep down to check on your girls. You climb carefully down the ladder, not wanting to wake anyone up, and check on their room. You find Selene still asleep in her bed, her blankets strewn all over the floor around it. Alison, though, is standing up in her crib and carefully tugging on the latch keeping her locked in, as if trying to find a way to undo it. She looks surprised as you come in, her eyes and mouth both opening wide.

What do you do?
>>
>>24490759
But are there exploding arrows that shoot magical vinesthat entangle the attacker? or a magic arrow that turns their hands into ducks? I like this. We should look into it.
>>
>>24490728
yes but each one is like 3 hours to make MINIMUM and no more effective than making a drain focus for the effect in one hour given that the arrow could miss.
>>
>>24490775
Go pick her up and spend some time with her, maybe get her a quick snack.

Also be sure to tuck Selene back in before we leave.
>>
>>24490759
But trick arrows.
>>24490782
These are the kind I had in mind.

Also, is Living Alchemy limited to changing only organic matter to other kind of organic matter? Or can it be used to turn non-living objects, like rocks, into something organic? I know we can't turn living matter into non-living matter, but is the reverse true?
>>
>>24490788
We could always add an extra effect to our magic arrows, so they teleport back into our quiver after use.

>>24490788
This is just some end game-ish stuff I wanted to bring up.

We'll probably have improved at Alchemy a lot by then (and Alison could help then too). Maybe even find an alternate magical solution to that time problem, like a quiver that magically grows its own arrows from some power source. Or what >>24490812 said.

For now, I just wanted to know if it was possible.

>>24490775
Alison time!
>>
You walk over, give her a kiss on top of her head, and then wait, watching, to see what she's going to do. She stares back at you for a few minutes, scrutinizing you, before finally going back to what she was doing. She goes back to fiddling with the latch, her face an image of concentration and effort. After a few minutes, she finally unlatches it and climbs carefully down with a huge grin plastered on her face.

She runs over to you, hugs your leg, and looks up at you with her smile. She seems very proud of the fact that she just figured out how to escape her bed-jail.

What do you do?
>>
>>24491227
Praise her. Our kid is a fast learner.
>>

not likely that she'll understand, but no time is too soon to start with her languages.

she did a fine job getting out of that but that's suppose to be for her protection.

Yes, high intelligence and an aptitude for alchemy were the traits.
>>
>>24491357
maybe not smarter in general but defiantly mechanically inclined.
>>
>>24491227
Am I the only one that wants to turn this into a game? Reward her for escaping confinement, but replace the latch with one slightly more complex each time she succeeds. By the time she's Selene's age we'll have her cocking locks, escaping handcuffs and cracking safes.

...please you know it would be adorable and give us the excuse to learn some mundane skills.
>>
>>24491456
I am for it as well
>>
You praise her for her ingenuity and creativity, picking her up and covering her in smooches. She laughs happily. You make a mental note to upgrade that latch later, both to give her a better challenge and to keep her safe; that barrier's there to keep her from falling, after all.

You carry her upstairs to the kitchen, making her a nice icy bottle of enriched water and sitting her down to sip happily at it.

What do you do now?
>>
>>24491479
If we have 4 hours before class i say we make her and Selene an alchemy training toy.

You sit around just talking to her for a while, eventually settling into a routine of holding up objects and telling her what they're called in English. She picks up on what you're doing after a while and starts pointing at things she wants named. She tries to repeat the words, but has a hard time wrapping her mouth around some of the syllables. You even try saying some things in the Word, which she seems capable of repeating back to you, which implies to you that she's at least understanding it as more than meaningless gibberish.

Eventually, you start cooking breakfast, and she holds her dragon toy closer as the room starts heating up a bit from the stove. Lin's the first one to come in for breakfast, followed by the meals, then Selene, and finally a tired Liz. She frowns as she gets into the room. Neither of you are sitting at the table, and yet it's cramped enough that Alison is having to sit on her sister's lap.

"We should cannibalize this room," Liz says, rubbing her eyes. "Make a separate kitchen and dining room on the spiral and turn this into something else."

What do you do now?

>>
>>24491854

>>
>>24491755
I like this idea, but how many spiral rooms are still unaccounted for? Also, have Lin and Dad claimed private studies yet? Is Dad even planing to given that he's been rebuilding his dream space sanctum?
>>
>>24491791
agreed. Then point out that the ladder is not the safest thing for our children, and that we should do something about that too.
>>
"That's a good idea," you agree. "Maybe we can make it a family project. We could turn the ladder into a spiral staircase too, for child safety."

"I hadn't even thought of that," Liz says, looking over at Selene and Alison and biting her lip. "We should have done that months ago."

"Yeah," you agree. You put out plates for you and Liz on the counter and start eating together. "How's the spirit forge coming? It looked nearly done last time I took a look at it."

"It is," she says eagerly. "Once it's done, I think it will be able to take any non-sapient spirit from mote to full sapience. I'm really excited about testing it out."

"What are you planning on sticking in there?" you ask her.

"Well, originally, I was going to use that water spirit as a test subject again," she says. "This time, though, I'm going to try to get a tiny electricity spirit and bring it to full sapience. If I can, I'll probably release it somehow or something. If I fail, I might still be able to bind it into something. What do you think?"

What do you tell her?
>>
>>24492063
That sounds... Really dangerous.
>>
>>24491945
as long as we keep the lader it in as a backup in case the power fell a magic elevator ala thalcrafts arcane levitateor would be cool
>>
>>24492063
"As long as you're careful, that sounds like a great idea. I don't want you getting hurt though, so make sure you're prepared for if things go wrong."
>>
>>24492071
How so?
>>
>>24492063
"That sounds like it could go wrong and put a sapient and possibly annoyed lightning spirit in the middle of the house.

Be sure to let me know when it's going to finish, I could make sure it stays calm and if it does get sapience I can mess with its head and make it work with us and not fight back."
>>
>>24492063
I don't know about raising it to sapience and letting it go as it will know our home and binding it if we make it sapient is cruel and wrong.
>>
>>24492063
FemCOCK, define sapience?

Since I assumed, at the lowest, it's be like Gaviscon.

And a few others are acting as if creating a sapient spirit would be some sort of crime.
>>
>>24492127
>>24492128
Rather than assuming she hasn't thought of this, we should probably phrase it as asking her how she'll deal with these issues.
>>
>>24492157

>>24492162
good point.
>>

>>24492162
By doing as she has done for Lunch (thread LXII) ?
>"I'm ready now," says Liz. "Let's start by making her unable to betray us and unable to refuse a direct order from us."

>>24492162
this. Offer to help since it sounds awesome.
>>
"What kind of safety measures do you have set up?" you ask her.

"I laid a ward ring into the floor around the forge," she says. "I'll put up a barrier before I open it up. Then we can figure out what to do with it at our leisure."

"How do we make sure it doesn't lead anyone back here?" you ask.

"Well, if it turns out sapient, I'll probably bind it into stasis, then teleport it somewhere else. It won't have seen anything other than that room," she says. "And if it's not sapient, I'll use it to power a bigger, better power ring than the ones we've been using to charge our phones or something."

What do you say?
>>
>>24492298
"If you want to keep the sapient one instead of tossing it away it would be pretty easy to make it loyal to us."
>>
>>24492257
true but that is not what we want to do to a spirit that has yet to try and hurt us as opposed to someone who attacked us.

>>24492298
"that could work as long as we make the walls of that room different from the rest of the tower and that natural rock though the brass wards may be a hint as to where we are we could put up a curtain."
>>
>>24492298
"Sounds like you've thought this through well, go for it."

Be sure and tell her how proud we are of her for being so smart (it's funny how I seem to post similar things for interaction with Liz as for the children).
>>
>>24492347
Yeah, offer up Max' Enchantment abilities.
>>
>>24492352
Or, it being an electrical spirit, masking any unique features of the magnetic field passing through the tower...probably should just recycle it instead of releasing it.
>>
>>24492298
"Could you choose the level of intelligence given to these spirits ? I'm thinking it could be nice to upgrade Gaviscon. "
>>
>>24492352
Think of it as a muzzle used for safety while training a particularly dangerous dog. If we can successfully shape it's behavior to conform to our requirements, our mental controls can be relaxed, otherwise at least it won't electrocute our daughters or the Meals.
>>
>>24492443
Gaviscon was an acid/electric elemental, if I recall correctly. Adding a like or complementary elemental to him would be good.

It IS possible to bind multiple elementals to the same construct, right?
>>
>>24492423
true we may want a different kind of spirit I don't want to make it a person and just kill it though that is evil. Max will kill animal intelligence spirits for selfish reasons but lets not kill people especially people we made. In a way the spirit will be Liz's child thus our child.
>>
>>24492443
I'd prefer to use Gav as a test subject for growing a spirits intelligence through enchantment instead of conjuration.
>>
>>24492496
>acid fire actualy
>>
>>24492496
I wasn't thinking of having two spirits in the same thing, but rather to process Gav alone in the forge.
>>
>>24492510
especially because that will work 100% in his currant shell without interference.
>>
>>24492496
I hope so. It might take time/work for it to stabilize while their minds restructure to work symbiotically or one subsumes the other, but would probably give enough of a power boat to be worth it.
>>
>>24492537
It would also give us enough experience to help Selene with her labrat if she's having trouble or to make sure nothing goes wrong when she starts working on Fap.
>>
>>24492549
or we could build a permanent item into one. Then give control of it to the other elemental and use that to power it so we could mount a lightning gun on gaviscon.
>>
>>24492588
that to
>>
>>24492606
I like this idea.
>>
>>24492496
>It IS possible to bind multiple elementals to the same construct, right?
Wouldn't the spirit ecosystem be such a thing ?
>>
>>24492652
I don't think so? More like we keep them in a circle and the ambient energy they release is absorbed and used by the tower.
>>
>>24492652
no that is multiple elementals bound to power the same item in the same binding circle.
He is saying to spirits in the same construct body.

>>24492606
we could also bind an air spirit to control the wings independently so that it can fly and gav's acid spirit can considerate spraying acid. It can also preform wind bursts if gav is on the ground.
>>
>>24492652
I don't think that counts as a construct. Maybe if we were using it to power an intelligent golem, but then the construct wouldn't be drawing any of it's characteristics from the elementals and it's mind would be divorced from its spiritual community. Not sure where the technical line is drawn.
>>
>>24492722
Just wanted to point out that Gav already can fly. Also I think her was technically a spirit of acidic mist, not sure where the pyrophoria came from. And yes, I know he has a fire elemental focus.
>>
>>24492777
Gav is Fire acid and water.
>>
>>24492777
yes he can fly but only clumsily an air spirit is what was first discussed after we made him.

pyrophoria ???
>>
>>24492822
Ok, I was exaggerating the fire breathing trait. We haven't seen him playing with fire behind out back. Yet.
>>
>>24492822
I disagree, it flew pretty well since it was undamaged in the final pitting against the other constructs.
>>
>>24492971
but it couldn't take off in the cramped space in the obstetrical coarse.
>>
>>24493024
Because obviously his first roll for flying is indicative of his ultimate natural ability after practice and any upgrades Liz has already done to make him a more effective bodyguard.
>>
>>24493102
has Liz upgraded him the only upgrade we know he has for sure is we made him stable and a little smarter using enchantment
>>
So why not just upgrade him more so that he CAN fly easily?
>>
>>24493189
none hence this >>24492722
and this >>24492606 upgrade plans.
>>
>>24493189
Good idea, I take this as a direct upgrade instead of trying to meld him with an air spirit. I assume we can just integrate a second wind focus into his shell.
>>
>>24493232
I don't get it. If you want it to takeoff in small spaces that badly, can't we give it a rotor (like an helicoper) in addition to its wings ?

Plus it doubles as a vibration generator, so we will have Lin's help.
>>
>>24493258
>second wind focus
those aren't like spell foci they are the things he as a spirit is "Focused" on if i understand correctly.

>>24493320

So, what do you actually say?
>>

L&L looks at you suspiciously and drag your kids away from you. Liz asks you if you are fine and Breakfast suggests you might need a boost.

What do you do ?
>>
>>24493542
Congratulate Liz on her good idea, then get ready for class.

>>24493542

"sounds like a well thought out plan."

>>
>>24493637

>>
>>24493637
It's a spirit not really a child, in the same way that Gav isn't our child. Our little slut should be praised if she makes it sentient, but I wouldn't call it her child.
>>
>>24493719
This is true. Not abusing intelligent spirits is one thing, getting overly sentimental is just going to fuck us over.
>>
>>24493719
Selene and Alison are our children and spirits i just want her to be prepared for the spirit to come out as a sapient infant. If not then no need to be sentimental it is just a person but she made it it may see her as its mother wit quite a lot of justification. I m not saying it will be just that it might be ans Liz is ignoring that possibility,
>>
>>24493602
>!
yea like this guy said
>>
I had a thought yesterday about the Prometheans.

I don't think that trying to understand the word was the huge thing that fucked up some of their members to which Carl referred.

Sure, it would probably be bad, but there's something else they could have done. Something that would give them so much more power than simply learning the Word.

They tried to modify their souls to consume other souls in a manner similar to YHWH. It fits with the whole "flying too close to the sun" thing, and has so much more potential for catastrophic failure. If you actually succeed, you piss off God. If you botch it, then you've just mutilated your own soul.
>>
"Sounds like you've got most of your bases covered," you say proudly. "You sure you're not going to get attached or something?"

"I doubt it," she says. "It shouldn't come out humanoid - or at least probably not. Sapient, sure, but unless it's made to interact with humans, like incubi or dryads, it probably won't be shaped like us. So, I'll see if it works as well as I hope, and release it somewhere if it does."

What do you talk about now, if anything?

a heart of power, if you will

>>
>>24495185
I don't see why it's a huge problem.
>>
>>24495185
It'll become a problem when we have something non-humanoid that is, in fact, as intelligent as a human being. As of now, it's not a problem.

No, she just thinks she won't get attached to something that's not human looking.

>>
>>24495519
I'm worried we think she is smart because she was tampered with by her sister...
>>
>>24495462
Ok. Remind me, how many months of first circle did she make it through? I assume she did well on the cup spatial folding project, right? So a few weeks for her to get her knowledge caught up, a few more to do the design work and have it vetted by dad (if we want her to learn anything from this we should have her do the design this instead of dad) and then however long it takes her to do the magic successfully and (I hope) with supervision. Timeline estimate's about right?
>>
>>24495519
Don't we need to teach Ally how to talk and form interconnections between complex concepts first? Maybe she wont get bored with the noises she doesn't understand that aren't directed to her, but I doubt it.
>>
>>24495561
No. We checked she is fine. Selene is a good big sister. Now that she knows it is dangerous she wont mess with her little sisters mind.

You give Liz a kiss and a little snuggle, but otherwise go about your morning business, getting fed, washed, and dressed. Once you're ready to go, you kiss your girls goodbye, head up to the circle, and teleport out with Liz and Lin. You find yourself in front of the classroom at school.

Hera and Sam wave happily to you and Liz and Lin start heading over to them. Pierre, though, waves for you to come over to him.

What do you do?
>>
>>24495679
To L&L "Hey guys, I gotta go see what he wants"

That's why you can't see the genius. Expand your mind and maybe the suffering will cease.

But I kind of want to funish Liz for losing it and breaking Pierre on her own for us. Or seriously punish her if she's sloppy about it, kills him or destroys his ability to teach us sorcery.
>>
>>24495762
This is cool and all, but sorcery is our worst stat. Why not just summon a spirit instead? Especially because if two sticks of gum was enough to do anything much, we would probably see floating rocks all over Scholomance.
>>
>>24495933
How do you propose we boost sorcery then?
>>
>>24495898
>>24495933
The 2 sticks is just with these numbers. Make it heavier and suspend it above a huge pit and it gets so much more powerful.

And lolspiritsconjurationOPasfuckhuehueheu is annoying. And boring.
>>
>>24495933
Also, that energy has to fuel the spell that converts gravitational energy into magical energy. I wouldn't be surprised if that spell alone results in a deficit, leaving nothing to actually fuel other spells.

>>
>>24495972
We really do have to enchant him to think our dick is just an oversized clit and that theirs nothing odd when giving us a blowjob. It will be so cute watching him fumble around trying to please us but not sure what's different down there.
>>
>>24495832
You can't convert friction, it's not a conserved force.
>>
>>24496013
Wrong!

We have magic. We can do whatever we like.
>>
>>24496005
Also find out what her wants. See if we can get a perception roll for intent out of his body language and facial expression.
>>
>>24495679
Go say hi to Sam and Hera first, then go over to Pierre
>>
>>24496033
If we skip on that, we can have him set a date not too far in the future.
>>
>>24496032
Wait, my physics is a bit rusty. We're draining electrostatic interaction or nuclear repulsion here (or something else I've long since forgotten)?
>>
>>24496012
I'd rather just make him think there's absolutely nothing weird about a girl having a dick.
>>
>>24496032
As far as we've seen, magic still has to do business with the laws of physics. Sure, you can conjure up a fireball, but once you do, it still behaves like fire.

I strongly suspect there's a magical conservation of energy law in effect here.
>>
>>24496064
Does that mean that since we're draining it, the air molecules would actually go through the pendulum? Could we use sorcery in this manner to go through solids?
>>
>>24496055
Not sure I grok you. I'm suggesting we find out why he's calling us over, not commit to anything yet.
>>
>>24496089
>Does that mean that since we're draining it, the air molecules would actually go through the pendulum?
Yes, I suppose so.
>Could we use sorcery in this manner to go through solids?
Not without either us or the thing we're going through bring disintegrated.
>>
>>24496032
Then why not cast a spell that just generates infinite power instead of bothering with all these stupid intricate contraptions that don't work?
>>
>>24496107
Because the power has to come from somewhere. We can just magic it to behave how we want.
>>
>>24496032
You can't convert gravitational potential energy without actually removing the height though, else it's STILL gravitational potential energy.
>>
You toss a polite wave back towards Sam and Hera, tell Liz and Lin you'll be right back, then walk over to Pierre. "What's up?" you ask him.

"I, ah, wanted to see if you wanted to study again," he says cautiously. "It has been a few weeks since one of our study sessions. I was hoping to pay you back - to show you some Sorcery as thanks for helping me pass my work. I would surely be well on my way to failing out if it hadn't been for you."

What do you say?
>>
>>24496073
That would work too, heck I'd support it happily, but I find it more amusing if he can't quite realize its a dick. Or maybe I just want to see him try to rationallize our come in his mouth without being able to figure it out. Could be either.
>>
>>24496125
>Because the power has to come from somewhere
Not if we use sorcery.
>>
>>24496032
>We can do whatever we like.

So why bother with the rock at all? Why not just get free energy from nowhere? Unless of course, we can't do whatever we like, magic or no.
>>
>>24496129
You mean a rock on a surface won't exert force on that surface?
>>
>>24496136
Give him a bright smile, as genuine as we can manage. Maybe force ourselves to think of our daughters to make it real.

"Sure, that sounds great. I would've asked sooner, but I figured you might be busy with your society or something."
>>
>>24496136
Sure. Set up the time for during this week at that old sanctum thing Dane used for his operation.
>>
>>24496089
Better question, did we just find the basis of a brute force method of nuclear fusion?
>>
>>24496136
yea we can do that hows this weekend?
>>
>>24494189
>They tried to modify their souls to consume other souls in a manner similar to YHWH.

Speaking of which, we need to talk to the librarian about learning soul modification.

We could offer up the theory on the spirit forge, in exchange for her teaching it to ALL of us.

That's a pretty hefty piece of bribe there.
>>
>>24496136
"Oh sure, that would be great. You want to do that after class? I just need to let my friends know."

Not really? Being a hefty bribe I mean. I also tend to think that the dryad seed was such a good bribe because no one had been dumb enough to give her one in a long time.
>>
>>24496196

>>24496214
Nope, thermodynamics' first law :
change in E = change in internal energy (Q) - work.
internal energy is something about the state of the material (compression, structure). It usually won't change.
>>
>>24496288
No matter what the structure of the rock is, it falls just the same. If a rock is in mid-air, it's still gonna fall, unless we take its falling away and use it for magic.

"Cool," you reply, looking around, not wanting to get too associated with this asshole. "Anything else you needed?"

"Ah, um," he says. He clearly has something else to say.

"Yeah?" you ask, not wanting to have to fucking drag it out of him.

"Do you want to go on a hunt?" he asks. "I heard you were Lotus. They don't confirm members until after a year, right? You could join Dextra Domini. I would speak for you. If you got in a good kill, I'm sure nobody would oppose it."

What do you say to him?
>>
>>24496695
As of right now, no. You'd have to script it yourself. However doing so should be relatively simple if you build on existing 4chan X code to filter tripfags - the only hard part would be finding a way to make it thread-specific.
>>
>>24496714
>But continuously, right?
No. It can't fall. It's effectively lying on the floor doing absolutely nothing, only that it's doing that h higher.
>>
>>24496713
These are legitimate ideas. If you can't handle it, maybe you should just wall yourself off in an apartment all day and collect welfare for your assburgers so you can avoid the real world.
>>
>>24496739
Oh, sweet, stupid Pierre.
>>
>>24496750
So then we could get infinite energy from a rock just lying on the floor?
>>
>>24496739
"I appreciate the offer, Pierre, really I do. But I've made some good friends in the Lotus, I wouldn't want to back out on them now."

No way are we entering the lions den.
>>
>>24496739
Well that's obviously not going to happen, but I'd say we tell him that's because we're already really integrated in lotus and stuff.
>>
>>24496662
So it's just like the truly immovable rod that creates a universal stillpoint.
>>
A rock suspended in the air is being acted upon by a force lifting it against gravity. It wouldn't be exerting external force on anything that could be harnessed since it's not moving. Potential energy doesn't work that way.

>>24496739
"Killing what exactly?"

Then be fake-appalled at his "bloodthirst".

"No, no. That's really sweet of you, but I can't do that. I've really gotten more involved with the Lotus than most first years, leaving would be a huge problem."

We killed a vampire lord. Does that make us a generic bad guy?
>>
>>24496789
Word of god that there is some sanity in this world. Thanks.
>>
>>24496827
No, but killing his thralls for no reason and raping Maria and Kaoru does
>>
>>24496791
I took it as more of a "Pierre doesn't represent DD. He's even more of an asshole than them, so you guys should totally go through with the estrotestes plan. Because fuck him."
>>
>>24496739
"No thanks, I really like what we do in Lotus."
>>
>>24496739
Well we don't want to leave Lotus - tell him we have friends there, and he should understand how hard it can be to make friends here. But maybe we could hunt with him? We can say it would be nice to do something together, but really I'd rather that he just hunt with us there than hunt unsupervised, as it were.
>>
>>24496789
Ugh.

Now he's going to just come up with something else just as crazy / stupid.
>>
>>24496791
You know Pierre isn't a typical DD, right? He's the sort of guy who thinks hunting demons is a great date.

That would also make sense, since femcock seems really determined to railroad us onto her forced feminization fetish

Seconding. We need to know if they're hunting some random monster, or if they're coming after another student (like Sam).

Wonder how strong that enchantment on his mind is. Could he get suspicious why we want to shy away from DD? "The only people who don't like DD are demons and demon-lovers!"

It'll be delicious to make him choose between us and DD down the road. Those are basically the only two things he's living for, at this point.

"First, what kind of hunt are you talking about?" you ask.

"Oh!" he says. "Oh, I don't know. There are lots of monsters in the school. Maybe a wyvern or something? Something to show off with. Something dangerous to the students."

"I see," you say, scratching your head. "Listen, I actually really like my society. I've already learned a lot of their techniques. It would be a really big deal for me to leave them."

"Oh," he says, disappointed. "Oh, okay. I just, um. I thought I should offer. Sorry."

What do you say?

The most dangerous game of all, DEMONS, MAX, DEMONS IN THE NAME OF GOD WAH HA HA then we can fuck -the last words Pierre ever said before his brain suddenly and unexpectidly turned to mush (Liz did it)

>>24497007

>>
>>24497007
Probably throws around a lot of fire, lightning and pure force. I think the guns are for when Magic isn't needed or could be too unreliable (only one untrained box/insufficient remaining foci). I suppose we'll see though.
>>
>>24497021
>Pierre turns up to the hunt with a big basket of apples on his back.

I'm still shocked DD doesn't take him seriously.
>>

>>
>>24496902
Sometimes I wonder why this isnt just a story. Our choices mean fuckall in the end.
>>
>>24497007
Look, just because Max wants to fight as inefficiently as possible doesn't mean that you should expect other characters to go style points heavy.
>>
>>24497079

>>
>>24497088
>Max wants to fight as inefficiently as possible
>only real fight was "nuke from orbit"
>>
>>24497044
>>24497088
A scoped rifle gives a +2 to body. Pierre seems to have 3 boxes. With an enchantment to remove sound that should give another +1 to first couple shots in an ambush.

Then you get the force modifiers. The first few should be easy. You get a weapon relatively fast that would give more rolls than most spells, especially with the new foci rules.

That means that silencing a gun and then adding 3 force mods will give an average person the same rolling power as a 3 box mage decked out with all the foci he can use. And no strain.

Because of the new foci rules, guns are far more viable. Especially in the lower circles.
>>
>>24497107
>No-one's forcing anything.

>>
>>24497138

Also, as of yet, Alison doesn't show any of the signs of growing a dick that Selene did.
>>
>>24497136
true but Max's augs make Bows and melee weapons better for her.
>>
i would just like to say that if pierre was to ever sudenly disapear without a word, we would be the first DD would go to as we were studying with him and he probably told people what he was doing, that is if DD is anything like Lotus and anyone even listens to the guy or cares about the sorry excuse for a demon killa. Wonder how close DD keeps tabs on its members since the breakfast incident.
>>
>>24496979
yea that sounds good
>>
>>24497207
And I was talking about Pierre.

Who doesn't have augs. And the only spell we've seen him do (besides aura sight) was increasing kinetic force with sorcery.

And he carries a gun.
>>
>>24497234
Well, and the goat thing he did for the constructs battle.
>>
>>24497234
True Liz has similar issues I'm not convinced the magic item boost is worth it over drain foci but it seems much less dumb.
>>
>>24497234
Squishy, you say? Would do anything to impress us?

I'm thinking we need to go on this hunt after all. What's a monster living in here that's out of Pierre's league by well within ours?
>>
>>24497252
Let's be honest, that was a Snapple-type abomination.
>>
>>24497286
>implying my construct wouldn't be a million times better than that.
>>
>>24497281
I'm concerned that Pierre might have been misled.

He might not realise it, but this might be other DD members trying to lure us into an ambush.
>>
>>24497310
You construct would be based on a flawed understanding of both magic and physics, would be overly complex for no reason, and accomplish absolutely nothing besides annoying the rest of the class.
>>
>>24497320
Oh, quite possibly. If we do go, we should be 110% on our guard. But this a great opportunity to either a.) kidnap Pierre ("a dragon ate him, I swear"), or b.) survive the ambush and use that as a wedge to drive him away from DD.

I prefer b (corrupting him the old-fashioned way), but we need to do something with this kid. Having him being just a love-stricken hanger-on is obnoxious.
>>
What would you guys think of getting a +momentum or +inertia augment?

We juggernaut now.
>>
>>24497410
We should ask Alexander what other augs he suggests. Getting a bunch of good +1s is way easier than a few high augs.

But we should probably tone down the augmenting for a while, we've been a bit too focused on it lately. Now that we can train with him, we can stand to hold off on augs until we're ready to progress to the next stage.
>>
>>24497396
>Pierre's face when he discovers that our Lotus training makes us into the kind of badass combat machine he wishes the DD was all about being.

He would have been so much happier in the four pillars. So tragic.

>>24497472

Only everything.
>>
>>24497454
Actually our training with Alex makes me wonder.

How does that training translate to our rolls?

Will it go on our sheet as "Master Lee's Training +#" and then we get +# to melee combat?

Same thing once we get our bow on?
>>
>>24497503
Or will it just accelerate our growth towards 5box body?
>>
>>24497519
probably the Latter than the former
>>
>>24497620
Hope not. Then we'd have to stop the training with him so our physical augs don't get even more expensive.
>>
>>24497636
I doubt it would be. It's about becoming more proficient will the skills required to fight at a superhuman level. We're not getting stronger or faster, we're just getting better.

"Hey, I might go with you anyway," you say, giving him a grin. "Netting a dragon would probably get you some more respect, and it sounds kinda fun."

"Fun?" he asks, balking. "You're a dangerous woman, Max."

"Yeah, you know it," you say proudly. "Hey, I'll see you after class."

"Of course," he agrees. "I'll be waiting for you in the library."

You head back over to your friends. "What was that about?" Liz asks curiously. She's been getting her jealousy in check lately, and there's only the slightest hint of contempt for Pierre in her voice.

"He wants me to come study," you say. "Then go chase a dragon."

"Is that a euphemism?" Lin asks with a grin.

"No," you say. Then you think for a second. "I don't think so, anyway. I don't think he's that creative."

The doors of the room go swinging open. "If you're all just going to stand around out there," Petrov says, his tone annoyed, "Please tell me so that I can just go home instead of trying to teach you."

Everyone files in. Nobody's surprised. As everyone sits down, Petrov pulls out two identical-looking swords and swings them both down hard into his desk. The first sticks firmly; the other has its blade snap. "Proper application of chemistry and engineering in Alchemy," he says, announcing the topic of today's lecture. "Part one in my Science in Magic series of lectures. Any questions before we begin?"

What do you say?

>>

>>24499420
Maybe it's just because you're so damn excited about this, but the notes you're taking turn out to be shit. You pay attention fine, but you realize you aren't writing shit down, and when you do, it's more ideas than actual lecture material. You do learn some important things, though.

For non-ongoing Alchemy effects, the end product is mundane. A sword produced by Alchemy is of a quality based on the very real physics and chemistry of its design and material composition. This can be circumvented, in part or in whole, by providing a power source for an ongoing effect, such as a bound spirit powering an Alchemy effect that makes a blade monomolecular in sharpness and resharpens it after every strike while active. He uses the broken and intact swords as examples for good and poor science in Alchemy in practice - one has a terrible carbon and nickel content, while the other is a precision and perfection of steel impossible in nature and researched by him personally.

The lecture ends with him emphasizing how important understanding the science of the effects and materials you're producing is, 'if you don't intend to waste a disproportionate amount of effort brute forcing something with permanent magical effects where none are needed.' Hera nods along with the whole lecture; this is clearly no news whatsoever to her.

What questions, if any, do you ask as the lecture comes to a close?
>>
>>24499557
No, my actual internet goes down. I use firefox.

Ask about alching up some antimatter.
>>
>>24499624
>>24499646

>>
You raise your hand.

"Yes?" he asks, gesturing vaguely at you.

"Do you have any recommendations for high-strength, high-durability spring materials?" you ask.

"See me after class," he says sharply. A few hands go down after that, maybe out of fear of being treated to the same tone of voice.

As class winds down, your friends head out into the hallway and you head up to the front of the class. Petrov hands you a piece of paper.

"A high-strength shape memory alloy. It should serve as a functional industrial spring material," he says. You look down at the paper. It has complex chemical formulae, mix ratios, and molecular diagrams on it. That wasn't quite what you expected. "I strongly encourage you to research more material sciences and engineering on your own in the future."

What do you do?

Sorry, I don't understand the question you are trying to ask. Is it whether there's an inherent limit to transmutation or whether you can simulate spell buffs with magic material science? Or do I really have no idea where you're going with this?
>>
>>24499707

You thank him very much for the help, then head quickly out of the room. Once they all teleport out, you head on in to the library.

It's time to study some Sorcery.

That's where I'm going to end it for tonight. If you still have the thread ready to archive, you can do the honors, Snapple. If not, I'll do it.
