Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of Succubus Lord Quest after some time!

Short story, I didn’t want to run any threads when I was doing finals. But now that those are done, I’m free for some time. Rest assured I have no plans to cancel this in the immediate future.

Last time on Succubus Lord Quest, we were in control of Erika and just concluded the massive battle with an enemy Necromancer, who had apparently had converted most of the town into some sort of super zombies. Erika collasped due to her extreme taxation of her powers during the battle, but once she woke up she was right as rain again, doubly so after Uilodsir, the Elven Mage, agreed to ‘help’ Erika feast.

We now continue where we last left off!

You sit back up from Uilodsir’s bed once again, readjusting your brasserie after a rather heavy necking session with Uilodsir. While you did manage to restrain yourself for the sake of your beloved, you could not help but feel pity on poor Uilodsir without giving him SOMETHING back in return. You’d normally never even consider such a thing for a lady such as you, but you figure that it must’ve of been Mina’s urging that prompted you to do so.

“I... I thank you for letting me p-p-partake in your... aether Uilodsir.” you manage to say readjusting your bra while still blushing as red as a beat.

“...N-No problem...” Uliodsir says as he lays himself out on on the bedsheets, his face showing his sign of bliss far more effectively than any aura can portray. Troy himself has thrown himself under his bed sheets since your makeout session started.

“See! That wasn’t so bad after all right!?” Mina says giving you a pat on the back.

(“No, no it is not. I feel as if I have betrayed my own beloved by partaking in such a vulgar act.”) you mentally reply to her as you throw the blanket back over to you. (“Even worse I... actually enjoyed doing such a thing even though my common sense was screaming at me to do otherwise.”)

(“Being hungry can do that to you!”) (“Not like there’s many others we can pick and choose from...”) (“Not enough for an aura feeding.”) (“Better to get it out of your system now before you do something like eat without supervision yes?”) (“Last think we need is for one of the adventurers to die after the effort we put into them!”) (“Man those big boobs really don’t suit her AT ALL.”) Mina’s thoughts ring out at you.

(“Hunger has nothing to do with it! I made out passionately with another besides my beloved! If anything this proves that I lack sufficient willpower...”) you reply.
>>

IT IS ALIVE!

How were your exams Sandact?
>>
[2/2]

(“Stop being such a drama queen!”) (“So long as you love only him with all your heart and soul then it’s OK!”) (“Don’t humans do very nasty things as well when they’re really hungry?”) You hear Mina reply.

(“...Yes... Assuming if their hunger urges overtake their willpower.”) you reply.

(“Then just think of it as feeding! Nothing more or less!”) (“If anything better than how humans do it! We don’t need to kill other things like humans do other animals!”) (“Better in other ways to... Hehehe~”) (“Like HELL I’m giving up Miso soup!”) (“Gotta be careful we don’t shave TOO much off the poor people though...”) (“Girl you’re both a teenager AND a hungry Succubus! If anything those urges would be hitting you like a stampeding Bull!”) Mina thoughts say to you.

(“...Yes... I do supposed this was an emergency wasn’t it?”) you say shivering. (“I hate to admit it, but I’m no longer human and this is one of the only ways I can consume substance for myself now...”)

(“Oh great now I made her all sad!”) (“Look! It isn’t that bad! Honestly!”) (“It’s perfectly doable to feed only through passive auras! All that stuff about Succubi being loose sluts is just a grossly misread myth!”) (“An alarming amount do seem to loosen up when they want to feed though...”) (“As you said, this was an emergency! It couldn’t be helped!”) (“Just consider something like that mouth-to-mouth breathing trick you use on people!”) Mina says.

(“...Yes... I suppose you’re right on that account too. I should just consider this an emergency and bear it no other heed. This fate of mine is a far smaller burden to bare than leaving Leona alone in this world.”) you reply, your voice now more firm in its resolution. (“...Also I’m leaving my bosoms this size as a statement, thank you very much.”)
>>
[3/4]

(“Oh ho! Someone’s jealous!”) (“Sisterly rivalry!”) (“...Can it even be considered that when something such as growth can’t even be controlled?”) Mina’s voice rings out.

(“No! It’s not fair! I’ve been drinking milk nearly every day for the past year and a half in addition to casually eating sweets to match her diet! But then Leona comes along, eating a diet HARDLY befitting of a lady, despite all of her reminders to me about ALL other aspects, and not only does she barely have any weight to show for it, but she’s often mistaken for an adult at the gala’s and parties we go to while I’m asked by only the small princes! It is insulting for s-”)

You look over at Mina, noticing a bright Vermillion (happy) aura around her in addition to a rather large smile curled up on her lips.

You blush as red as a beet as your realize that you’ve been ‘thinking loudly’ during your conversation with Mina.

(“T-T-This conversation is over!”) You say blushing as you flip the covers over your head and body back to the floor.

“Good night~.” Mina says happily as she watches you go asleep.

[4/5]

You all gather together the next morning to discuss what you have found. The zombie hunting party managed to find most of the zombies, but some of them got away and they were not able to track them all. Ten or less according to them. Brodin tells you that while their regenerative powers are extremely strong, they are little more than meatshields. They’re not that strong even when compared to normal zombies. Master Sebastien adds that while the regeneration features are worrisome, the zombies only had the skills of a peasant and nothing more. You’re somewhat uncomfortable with the idea of letting these zombies go, but with only Uilodsir unharmed and fully charged up on aether, you lack the manpower, time, and resources to go after them at the moment. You’re sure this is going to turn up to be a LOVELY mouse hunt later on, with Brodin then going into a small rant about that’s how his job works nearly every damn time.

You, Mina, Troy, and Uilodsir do a sweep of the town while Alex, Brodin, and Master Sebastien take their turns at rest after their extended zombie hunt. You don’t find anything out of the ordinary in most of the townhouses, other than a large supply of steel utensils and elegant furs. Mina managed to find their pelt warehouse. While not full, still managed to have quite the number of fur pelts from various animal creatures. Troy and Uilodsir attempted to take any gold that wasn’t bolted down much to your horror. Their argument was that nearly all of the town was zombified anyways, so they don’t see a problem in taking everything that isn’t bolted down.
>>
[5/5]

Lastly, the body of Father Gregory himself seemed to be of value as well. The bone armour that he had equipped during the fight endured after his death, and even with battle damage it is still in one piece. Brodin says that a skilled smith who knows his way around Necroarmour could most likely restore it, but you question who would possibly wear such a ghastly thing. Father Gregory’s *lab* is also in immaculate condition, which is filled to the brim of surgical tools of all sorts. While their use had been questionable, such tools could most certainly be put to a far more noble cause if you desired. The medical tools Father Gregory had at his dispoal exceed those of the Langy’s family doctors... Not that they were that good in the first place with Uncle Langy knowing Blood Control.

After exploring the town, there isn’t much else to do besides wait for the others to finish resting up. Your mind ponders what you should do to pass the time before everyone awakens once more.

(Last call if you want to tie anything up with Erika before we swap back to Brooklyn)

welcome back. You have been missed.

Take the Lab equipment, furs, steel and pelts. Alex may be interested in the Bone Armour...

The Furs and Pelts are good for trade, the Steel will make for good resources for Miyan SCIENCE! and the Lab Equipment will be needed once Langly has been dealt with, seeing as though medical equipment is supplemented via his blood magic...

also, reflect on the previous day's combat and break down what went well and what did not go so well as to improve our combat reactions and strategic planning.

Oh you. Good to hear about your exams.

>>24405611

Oh yes, there will be, once we return to Brooklyn.

...Oh for Erika. I gave her a psy upgrade last session, I'll give her a feat a bit later.
>>
[1/5]

While the others are loading the lab equipment, pelts, and as many other nick knacks you can possibly put on the wagon, you begin to reflect on the previous day’s battle. Even though things went fairly well despite the fact your were ambushed, something like this still leaves a sour taste in your mouth. What you need most of all are scouts. Precognition can really help, but a team of dedicated scouts will be worth every copper you may be paying for them. You may’ve had a better layout of the city if you had sent scouts beforehand, and they’re often great for mopping up any sort of stragglers. The Remote Viewing power Master Sebastien or Queen Janine mentioned would be a major asset, but a small team of trained scouts would be far superior in that aspect.

The second thing that you need to worry about is identifying various sorts of magic. You were grateful that Sir Brodin was with you to tell you all of the zombies weak points, but even he admitted he only dabbled in it and was not a specialist. Lady Brooklyn could be one such source, provided she gets time and access to the proper material.

After resting up in the city for one more night, you all head back on to Fort Hope, wagon loaded with new materials and Mina cheerfully pulling it all along the way...

(BROOKLYN TIME AGAIN!)

*About one day earlier...*

You take a deep breath as you begin to calm your inner spirit. You have since stopped practicing darkness control in your house as you were unable to fully ‘cut loose’ with your powers. You felt that going all out with your powers generally produced more effects than just mere parlor tricks such as tentacle puppet shows and light dimming. Oh no... You’ve been working on far more grander things, and now you think it is time to put that effort to work.

You stand in front of the skyscraper, taking a long and deep breath as you furrow your eyes. Flames of darkness gather around your hands and body as you begin to focus your aether, pushing it as hard as you possibly can.

As if responding to your will, a large, thick black of tentacle of darkness rises up from the street intersection, towering above you as it appears multiple stories high. Making something this big and thick is taking nearly all of your effort, trying to actually move it is a challenge that you’re hoping you will be put to the test now.

Raising your hand up into the air, slowly and surely as not to break the connection, you then bring it down quickly once, making a chopping motion with your hand.

The tentacle executes you will exactly, cutting through the materials of the building with ease, sounds of shattering glass and shifting concrete echoing throughout the night sky. The building begins to buckle, creeking slowly, before the left side of the building begins to collapse, caving in on itself due to the lack of support. The building falls over, impacting the other across the street, the entire night sky roaring with the sound of crashing old world buildings, buildings made of secret techniques long ago now little more than tissue paper with your abilities.
>>
[3/5]

You pant heavily has the last few tumbling pieces of concrete fall out from the wreckage pile. You then take a deep breath, smiling to yourself as you look down at the flames of darkness flickering on your hand as you give a small chuckle to yourself, relishing in the newfound power you have acquired.

(Brooklyn has leveled up Darkness Control to the Great! level! Full details of what this entails on the magic document)

Gasps of terror come out from behind you. The three guards of the bandit patrol you found from earlier. The display of power that you had just shown them to be most likely terrifying beyond all words to them.

“T-T-The Black Flame Huntress...” one of the bandits says as he witnesses the event.

“She actually exists!” the other one cries out.

“P-Please don’t kill us Huntress!” one of the bandits begs you, tears rolling down his eyes.

Black Flame Huntress... That’s what they’ve been calling you ever since you captured them. Apparently the civilians you cut loose managed to spread the word about you just before they were killed by the snow bandits, at least according to these guys.

“Spare you? Oh no... I didn’t think you gave such mercy to those women and children who begged you to let them live... The way you all tried to kill me when I was just going out for an evening stroll...” you say slowly walking towards them, letting your shadow flame flicker around you for effect. You can taste their fear on the tip of your tongue, teasing your ever so hungry stomach.

You begin to hear silent mutters from the men. You’re unable to tell whenever they are weeping or them praying to their ancestors.

“Ssshhh... Don’t worry... Not only will be be painless, but it’ll be giving people like you one of the best possible ways to go out...” you say, toying with your prayer as a shadow tentacle is slowly dragged across his chin.
>>
[4/5]

The screams of three men are then cut short in the dead of night, being fuel for a even greater unholy being.

...That is also worried about her money concerns.

“Ugh... Six gold... That’s barely enough to pay for a new book...” you mutter to yourself as you begin the hike back to Fort Hope. “Damn rent... Damn lack of jobs... I swear if you’re not an overmuscled bravado he-man that you’ll never find a good job in this damn town...”

You head on back to to your home, changing out of your leather combat gear (which you needed to get repaired [-2 gold 5 silver]) and back into your dress, the one with the missing button. You use your darkness control to replace it, but you can only sigh to yourself once more. The one thing you hate about this damn change? All your clothing needs to be replaced. That fancy suit of yours only works for males, and seeing the going costs for passibly fancy dresses only made your heart sink.

“I wonder how many demons with light control make their own clothing rather than buying it...” you mutter to yourself as you change into Sara and head over to the bath house to collect your laundry.

******

“Sorry I’m late Amanda! I was doing some real heavy work then had to stop and get something to eat!” you say as you run into the bath house just as it begins to close.

“I was wondering where you were! We’re only four minutes until closing!” Amanda tells you.

“Yea....” you pant as you catch your breath. “I know... I was just so caught up in my work...”

“This is good timing. I wanted to... inquire about something as well...” Amanda says.

“Oh! None of that perfume stuff on my clothing! The smell makes me sneeze all the time!” you quickly reply looking up at her.

Amanda only gives a flat stare, looking at you as if you were brain damaged.
>>
[5/5]

“...What?” you ask.

“You know I... Was... Just thinking that... If you’re not terribly busy tonight... Maybe you could give me some... late night lessons?” Amanda asks, her voice a mixture of being both shaky and firm while a strong blush remains on her face.

...Oh...

Well... You’re not sure how much you have left to do yourself. You’ve accomplished the major goal of your training spree in addition to learning a few other things. You begin to wonder what you should say to Amanda.

(IN ADDITION TO PICKING YOUR CHOICE OF AMANDA, pick five of the following addition skills that Brooklyn managed to learn by the fruits of his own training!)

Going full nerd. We don't really need Water Control, keep our focus on Dark/Light.

Assuming that we're alone in the Bath House, take the dominant role. Get in close to her, wrap one arm around her back to pull her a bit closer to us, whisper into her ear "I'm always willing to teach my favorite student. We're you interested in an academic lesson or something more fun than that."

>don't need water control

But seriously, assuming we tell Ada that we're a demon lord we should start prepping to leave Ft. Hope in a hurry. She's not going to want someone guaranteed to bring the pride demons down on her hanging around her little dominion (at least not while we're so comparatively weak). Water control keeps us from freezing and unlocks a new sets of offensive, defensive and survival survival skills.

Water control for the bonuses and utility.
Tea to Awesome because that is our thing.
Stealth to Average because stealth is a great thing to have

For mundane cold we can put on a coat, for magical cold it'll help but against serious attacks it won't really make a huge difference, we won't be throwing around many Water Spells as we focus on Darkness/Light and we shouldn't overgeneralize, and I'll give you the last point, but I'd still rather focus on other stuff.

Blood Control is a type of Exotic Water Control. Water Control can control blood, but Blood Control does it far sooner and more effective than Water Control. It can also do some things like water control cannot, such as potent healing powers and giving the user large physical/mental buffs.

[x] Water Control to Basic
Wasn't the whole point of the time skip so we could train both Water and Dark and end that stupid argument? Why you trying to start shit again, Sandact?
Anyway magic is way better than skills. When have skills ever been relevant? I assume Dodge is helping is in combat but there's no evidence of it. Sometimes Old World and Demonic history get us information without having to ask the Queens. On the other hand we use magic all the time both in and out of combat. Water Control brings such powerful and diverse effects as sitting nakid in the snow without dying of hypothermia, keeping your tea at the perfect temperature from the first sip to the last, and never getting rained on again. The only reason not to vote for this is if you're that guy who believes that if we get it we'll have to completely forget about our Light and Dark specialisation and start levelling this up instead.

[x] Tea to Awesome!
Tea is the best skill. And it's an Awesome! rank which would normally be really really hard to train, but thanks to the magic of time skips it costs the same as an Average rank in something else.

[x] Dodge to Good!
The combat skill which we get the most use out of, and it's the highest level one to take advantage of that time skip magic.
>>

The only reason I'm fine with timeskip is that we were playing someone else and nothing of note happened. I don't care about training and would rather get three more skill trained rather than have water.
>>
>>24406601
This. Hell, I wanted air control so we could get our holographic bombs talking and making living noises, give us an eavesdropping ability and greatly boost our flying, but I settled for the water control compromise then and still support it now.

(Upgrades selected! Tea, Demonic History, and Water Control!)

A gentle smile rolls across your face as you witness Amanda’s behavior. You walk around over the counter, gently putting your arm over her shoulder. You can feel her tremble slightly as you gently pull her a bit closer.

“Was there anything in particular you wanted to study? Or were you after something a little less... Academic?” you ask in a half teasing voice as you pull Amanda a bit closer to you.

“I’m not... all that fussy either way.” Amanda says as her face drifts closer you your own.

You smile as you put your own face closer to hers. Pressing your warm lips against her lips. She seems to almost swoon in your embrace, pressing her own lips against your own as she eagerly seeks your attention.

Realizing that you’re still in the bathouse lobby while it is still open, you reluctantly pull away from Amanda to the dismay of you both. “...Prehaps you should close up here before we continue this somewhere more... private?”

“Y-yes! Yes but of course!” Amanda says as she vaults over the counter, locking the door to the bath house before nearly pulling your arm off as she ‘escorts’ you to her own room for a long night of mutual affection that only the vitality of horny teenagers can accomplish.

******

“So it sounds like you had a quite a trip then.” You say as the adventuring group has come back to your place, all of you sitting around a rather large tea table that takes up most of the room.
>>
>>24406666
in time we should get at least one level of everything
>>
[2/3]

“Yes... Yes you could say that.” Erika replies as she sips her tea, still wearing the wrap around her eyes.

“There are some zombies left, but they’re not any real threat by themselves.” Brodin says as he sips his tea. “...This is great tea by the way. Have you improved?”

You make a simple gesture with your hands. “A little. I also spiked you and Sebastien’s tea with whiskey.”

“...Huh, I thought I tasted it.” Sebastien says as he looks over the tea.

“What about your time Lady Brooklyn?” Alex asks you.

“Oh I hardly did much of interest compared to you guys. I mainly just worked on sharpening my magical skills, got a friend to teach me the basics of Water Control, and did a little reading up on Demonic history in the process.” Brooklyn said. “While it was nice to have some time alone, I gotta admit it was feeling somewhat empty without all you guys here.”

“Aw! I knew you missed us!” Mina says wrapping her arms around you and giving you a big hug while rubbing her cheek up against yours.

“I missed you so much too Mina!” you say giving her a big hug back, returning her cheek rubbing.

“May I inquire about my Sister and Lady Amanda?” Erika asks.

“Both of them miss you a great deal that’s for sure. Leona seems on edge ever since you last left. Amanda has been keeping a very calm collective so far, but I can tell that she wants to see you again as well. She’s really eager to see what sort of powers you’ve developed as well.” you tell Erika.

“Yes I’d imagine that she would...” Erika says appearing lost in thought before turning to Sebastien. “Master Sebastien, may I please have some time to see them both? I know my training is important, but I am worried about my sister and Lady Amanda.”
>>
[3/3]

“Amanda will be fine, but I understand the family concerns. Fine, you’ll have a day to meet them if you please.” Sebastien says gulping down the rest of his tea.

Erika has a small smirk on her face as she happily sips her tea.

(“By the way, what has Ada been up to lately?”) Sebastien asks.

A) “If I remember right, she’s going to assassinate Langy today. In fact he should be dead any minute now.” (Begin the Langy Assassination plot. Pick this if you are sure you are ready.)

B) “I think she’s finalizing her plans.” (Delay the Langy Assassination for a bit longer to prepare yourself in other areas.)

Sandact, How much aether do the queens currently have in relation to the amount required to transform Amanda, Leona and the Twins?
>>
> A) “If I remember right, she’s going to assassinate Langy today. In fact he should be dead any minute now.” (Begin the Langy Assassination plot. Pick this if you are sure you are ready.)

Let's get this party started!
>>
>>24406840

I don't get your question. Are you asking how much Aether all the queens have currently and how much more they'd need to transform anyone?
>>
>>24406840
Seconding the aether question.

Also, aren't the twins due back any day now?
>>
>>24406840
We have enough for the twins and would need to get the Aether for both Amanda and Leona.
>>
>>24406870
I assumed he was asking how many transformations they can currently perform and which queens have sufficient aether to do so.
>>
>>24406870
I think he means how much do we need to collect to transform Amanda and Leona as the Twins we have the Aether for
>>
>>24406840
Last known state is 100% twin 0% anyone else
>>
>>24406882

Twins are due back any day now yes.

>>24406933

Still about 60 people between the both of them. All the queens are bone dry in comparison to their normal aether reserves. The Gemelli Queens have a bit more due to your efforts, but any other transformations will involve feeding them.
>>
>>24406918
Got it. So where are we planning to get two succubi worth of aether? The necro village was kind of a bust on that front. Also, we might want to get Brodin learning necromancy so he can utilize the necroarmor to the fullest. Can't see anyone else being interested in it.
>>
>>24406990
Only 60? That's a relief.
>>
>>24407008
>Brodin learning necromancy
nope, that is against his job and he hates undead
>>
>>24407008
There's a couple possibilities, we could fill ourself with our usual methods and then deposit it with them, but that'll take a lot of trips considering how we need many times our reserves to make a Succubutt like that.

Alternatively we go hunting for more bandits, but we're running low on those.

Or we find Aetherically powerful people for them to eat, like Lord Langy, Demons, stuff like that, but those are rare and dangerous.
>>
>>24407008
Bandits. Oh, and we should tell everyone that when they have spare aether they should go charge up the queens a bit.
>>
>>24406990

hmmm... 60 people with little to no Raider bases in the vicinity... Welp, time to do things the longer way...

WAIT!!!! THE DEMON GUARDS!!!... Nope, just remembered the plan to circumvent question fate over their deaths...

mayhap we should ask Uilodsir about aether potions... if they exist then that may be a shortcut....

wait a minute... did we pay the rent yet?
>>
>>24407157
We're fine on the rent, if we really need cash we can fuck it out of Amanda.

hum will take a while assuming that we fill up on aether every day and give it to the queens it will take 15 days to turn both of them. most likely longer aw we don't want to see people as food.

If Mina or others helps out we could probably do it quicker. you know depending on how fast the adventurer's replenish aether they could help out as well.
>>
>>24407185
Given that we don't consider bandits to be people I must agree with your statement. I'm still disappointed that the adventurers weren't aethery enough to get us over this hump if we'd let the queens eat them.

(“If I remember right, she’s going to assassinate Langy today. In fact he should be dead any minute now.”) You reply to Sebastien.

(“...Now I’m wondering if our timing in this case is either good or bad.”) Sebastien says.

(“Probably a minor shitstorm in the town, but if Ada’s plan goes off correctly, then we won’t need to worry about a thing. Virtually nothing will change.”) you reply. (“Considering all the effort she put into this plan, I’m pretty sure she got things covered.”)

******

MEANWHILE...

(You are now VERY briefly playing as Ada Waller!)

“Bloody small vents. Bloody fans trying to cut me to pieces... Bloody Langy... I’m going make sure that I twist the knife for what he’s putting me through...” You mutter as you continue to crawl through the vent shaft. Just getting access to the proper vent shafts were bad enough. You had to ‘ask’ the Langy Family caretakers which of the vents leading to the Langy family underground bunker were the correct ones, as the vast majority were booby trapped with deadly traps, and even on the safe path you’ve had more than a few encounters with ultra sharp blade fans.

You crawl on over to a nearby vent cover, peering out of it both ways to see if you notice any guards down below. You don’t see any movement, but what you do notice is the level of technology within this place. The holographic keypads on the doors and the alloys the walls are made out of... This is a dead giveaway that this is a fully intact old world base alright.

With your knife in hand, you take it out and give it a hard slam against the grate, cutting open the metal and taking the piece of the gate inside of the vent before you jump out and into the hallway down below, your body rejoicing as you now finally have the blessed freedom to actually stretch your legs out.
>>
[2/2]

(“Ugh... My armour is so filthy...”) you mutter to yourself as you dust yourself off as you then quickly move underneath a security camera as it scans the hallway.

But you know the real challenge begins now. This is the area of the Langy Bunker that only Langy himself goes into, and you’re going into it completely blind. Langy destroyed the blueprints a long time ago, so you have no idea of the layout down here nor what to expect. The camera above you continues to swerve back and forth, but whenever it works is questionable in itself given the age of this place.

To the right of you is a large good, most likely the entrance to Langy’s private bunker that connects to the family one. To the right of you is a large hallway that turns to the right with another hallway going down the middle to another door.

While you have no idea where he is, you know how to narrow it down. Langy most likely knows an assassin is after him at this point. He’s probably going to be in a large area rather than a cramped room.

Your mind begins to calculate your next move in order to lock Langy into checkmate.
>>
>>24407469
To the right of you is a large good?

I thought the hallway was to the right and I have no idea what a good is. Is that a door to the left?
>>
>>24407491

Large door, my bad
>>
>>24407469
>>24407505
Okay, well, start by turning on Cloaking, it's a no-brainer.

The Large Door connects to the family part of the bunker, I think if he's really afraid of an assassin he'll be in his private section here.

We don't know where he is so let's get some recon in to begin, head down the hallway down the middle to that door, don't open the door yet, obviously, try to eavesdrop, see if we can hear anything on the other side.
>>
>>24407469
Obviously we should have brought our well prepared expendable minions, I mean allies, with us. In the mean time clock and try figuring out how to safely disable the external bunker defenses.
>>
>>24407591
seconding this we should also try to get an idea of the layout of the place in case we need to make a hasty escape.

[1/2]

Well if there is one thing your mother drilled into you is that if you don’t know a new area, then exploring it is one of the first things you should do.

You activate your cloaking, bending the light around you as you silently move down the hallway.

Upon reaching the intersection, you look around the corner, noticing that it is only a short hallway with another door. The door is labelled “CIC.”

CIC... Combat... Something. That’s all you really remember. You walk over to the door, trying to see if you can open it yourself, only to see that it automatically opens up for you.

You jump back a bit, readying your knife in one hand while frost begins to gather around the other. You wait several seconds, but nothing comes out. Slowly you begin to walk in, checking the corners and ceiling by reflex before you can process the other bits of the room.

Looking around you can see a lot of Old World computer systems, that still appear to be up and running. Nearly fifteen seats can be seen scattered around the place, while in the center of the room appears to be a horrifically out of date holographic topographic map of the area surrounding Fort Hope. Some papers still seem to be around the area, all of them dated nearly 350 years ago, the military of the base refusing to cede to the Government’s surrender of the Pride Demons.

You do a small bit of scouting, but one thing that immediately catches your eye is what appears to be security camera footage of various places in the bunker. The family bunker area cameras are mostly all offline, but the ones in this section of the bunker appear to be working fine, and on one of them you can spot Langy himself. Sitting it what appears to be some sort of massive control room of sorts while surrounded by various tins of old world food.
>>
[2/2]

You a moment you are happy that you effectively have him cornered, but then you realize the truth of the matter. You were correct on the assumption that he’d be in a wide open space, but what you didn’t see coming is that the only way into the area Langy is in is a massive, large metal crucible area with most of the lights blacked out entirely, most likely by Langy. A camera near the entrance of the area does provide enough light for you to see the entrance of the room, the sole entrance. Langy would be able to easily see you coming from nearly 50 meters away, as even with your cloaking up the door would need to open. The vents are out of the question too. Without a proper map going into the vents would be suicide.

On the bright side, you did find a map. This area of the bunker is mainly fairly small. Only really meant for VIP’s. Hardened and capable of sheltering them for weeks. The large room Langy is in however appears to have the name literally torn out of the map.

“...I wish I could do that mist technique mother could...” you mutter as you look over all the screens, wondering what to do next. You were sidetracked by the screens, so you didn't give the area the full lookaround you could've possibly otherwise.
>>
>>24408236

Well, obviously look around! See what else is in the room that might be useful.
>>
>>24408236
Since we can't phase through walls it's a real shame we don't have access to an ally with teleportation skills...

humm could be flood langly's room with deadly nerotoxin?
>>
maybe we could smoke him out. let him leave his little bunker room, right into our knife!

but on a more realistic note, search the room. there may be some facility schematics buried somewhere that Langly did not find. Maybe even an old maintenance work sheet which highlights a design flaw or structural weakness...

>>24408478
we'd need to warm up the neurotoxin emitters first though...
>>
>>24408478
the GLaDoS plan... I approve.
>>
>>24408515
we need to fine the vent controls and either turn them off or put them in reverse
>>
>>24408478
We're not Miyu, I don't think we have any neurotoxin.

>>24408236
Look around the room some more, see if there are any helpful resources.

We want the drop on Langy but I'm not seeing any good ways to pull that off, he's not coming out for anyone and we don't want to take the vents as they're trapped.

Look at the map some more, see if there's any rooms that are adjacent to the room he's in, we might be able to catch him by surprise by exploding a wall next to him, or just taking a very short one hop vent trip and looking out for traps.
>>
>>24408567
Wait, if we can find the vent controls and shut them off to the room he's in we could asphyxiate him as he runs out of oxygen.

Though with him being magic this might not work.
>>
>>24408567
Actually, that's a good idea on its own. Shut off (or better, slowly turn down) the ventilation system to that room and wait for its inhabitants to keel over from hypoxia.
>>
>>24408670
>Though with him being magic
he's a blood mage/cleric type not a air magic user
>>
>>24408693
He might be able to heal himself through hypoxia or something like that, or some other magic bullshit.

I'm saying it's a good idea, but it might not work perfectly.
>>
>>24408714

I think, even then, it's a case of 'Can he get air before he runs out of magic.' I don't think Humans regenerate magic THAT fast.
>>
also I think healing is an active magic, if the hypoxia surprises him he might not react in time before he loses consciousness.

Of course this is depending on if we find the vent controls and can rig em to run in reverse. We aren't a Maya after all
>>
[1/2]

If there is one good thing about this, it’s that Langy cannot leave without you knowing as well. You begin to search the CIC for anything else that could be considered valuable.

Sure enough your searching does turn up a few interesting finds. For one, the commanders desk has an old world revolver inside of it. When you check the cylinder, you notice that it is full of normal ammo. Checking the other three speedloaders, you can see more normal ammo, some ammo with an eeirely glowing blue tip, and others with a purple tip. You have no idea what these ammo types are, but Sebastien would probably know of them. Secondly you find a bottle of whiskey, the sweet kind. As much as you dislike being called a child, sweet things are definitely amongst your favorite foods!

Looking onto the commanders computer, you can see two messages addressed to him.

Fr: TechRicardson

Subject: UMU Maintenance Report

It took us nearly everything, but we’ve finished installing a manual cockpit into the Poseidon Mechanoid. Thanks to the advances in technology, we were able to reduce the size of the onboard computer but still have room for the cockpit and all other systems.

I still have beacon for UAM-187 online. It appears to be active still. Again, I will stress the importance of getting this unit. Even if it is a trap, the UM’s are the only major thing we have left against the extra-dimensional aliens.

******

UAM? Unmanned All-Terrain Mechanoid? Hm... You’ve heard of those before. Mother said those things were produced en masse as anti-demon unit, an alarmingly effective one at that. But you have no idea what a “Poseiden” UAM is or what the capabilities of such a thing is. You try searching through the papers nearby, and while they mention intel reports and possible UAM placements, there is no other data that you can find.

Looking around the area, you can find a few more controls for things. One thing of note you do find is the atmospheric controls for the lower bunker area. You could try your luck at hacking it, or destroy it if need be. The machine is considered nearly irreplaceable. It would be a loss to destroy such a thing, but if it gets rid of Langy that it can be considered a small price to pay.
>>
lets try hacking it.
>>
>>24408864
try to hack it
>>
>>24408864
Make a mental note to drag Brooklyn down here later, she knows more Old World History than we do and will probably salivate at the opportunity.

Let's try our luck hacking the atmospheric controls, we've got Old World Device Operation at Average which ought to help.
>>
>>24408864
Damn. Figures the Old World base would be full of Miyan fapping material that we don't know how to work.

The atmospheric controls sound like a good bet though. I don't want to risk activating the UAM and having it start killing demons, with us first.
>>
>>24408864
>The machine is considered nearly irreplaceable.
how about unplugging it?
>>
Not sire its been answered, but what exactly is Shroud of Night? Is it a darkness area effect or is it comparable to Brodin's avatar mode?
>>
>>24409090
Shroud of Night: This spell creates an area of supernatural darkness out to an area of 25 meters on a point of your choosing within visual sight. People without supernatural sight of some sort are effectively rendered blind. Maintain control of this darkness cloud is effectively effortless,
Zone of darkness
>>
You head on over to the control panel for the atmospheric controls, taking a sheet of paper with you in order to see what you can find out about it. Maybe restart it into a different mode and reset the password via that method, and then gain access to the systems.

After about a solid half hour of attempts later, you’re still no closer than you were at the beginning. You were trained to hack normal old world computers, but a highly advanced military computer seems a bit out of your reach.

“Bloody machine!” you say as you hit the side of it. You walk over the maintenance panel, making tools of ice to open it up for you and peer inside. Only see a veritable maze of gears and moving parts.

You could simply cut the power, but you’re not sure where the power supply is for this place. The reactor core appeared to be a ‘Nuclear’ one, whatever that meant. Tampering with that could be another option at your disposal, but your mother often warned you how some old world power sources could be rather... unstable.

If you did destroy it, you’re not sure how long it’d take Langy to die via lack of air. You could probably hold out longer than him, but you only have one camera view into Langy’s control room and you’re not sure what else he has in there.
>>
>>24409202
Hmm, scratch that plan then. Too many variables.

Check the layout of the facility on the map, see if we can get into a room next to Langy's room then we can use water control to freeze the room Langy is in or use that location to get an alternate entrance to the room.
>>
>>24409202
there should be a single power cable in the wall leading to the machine. cutting that will stop the power its recieving. Or you could simple jam one of the gears so the entire thing grinds to a halt.
>>
>>24409302
Ada's strength should be more then sufficient to pound through whatever the wall is made of to get to the power cables if she goes that route.
>>
>>24409202
Here is an idea lets find that rooms main vent and freeze it shut.
>>
>>24409349
that's thinking with water control
>>
>>24409302
It has an internal Nuclear reactor unplugging it probably won't help.
>>
>>24409384

To clarify, the base has a Nuclear power core, not the air conditioning unit.
>>
>>24409439
oh good, that had me terrified
>>
>>24409439

>Comming soon to a Wal-Mart near you;

>NuAirCon. The Air Conditioner that will last longer than you will!

>Warning, contains micro Fission reactor. tampering may result in malfunctions, death and WW3...
>>
You then have an idea. You may lack Air Control, but you can certainly use your capabilities to effect the air quality in this place!

You study the machine carefully, searching all over for the specific vent within the area. Upon noticing what you think is the in intact valve, you use your ice powers to freeze the entire thing shut with about a foot of solid ice. You’d prefer to hit Langy’s vent, but considering that this thing pumps air into a single vent that splits off into nearly a dozen different ones, including traps, it is just better to seal the intake pipe. The machine continues to hum along, display a warning that the air intake valve has been frozen.

“Enjoy your nap Langy.” you say with a smile on your face as you casually walk on over back to the CIC to watch Langy’s feed.

“Think you could outsmart me by hitting the air intake did you?” Langy’s voice comes up the intercom corresponding to his room. “I have to admit, as an assassin you sure took your dear sweet time coming to kill me, and even now you’re still trying to make it as slow as possible.”

You walk back over to Langy’s room feed to notice him talking into an intercom on a control panel.

“One of the first things my father warned me about was watching the tassels on the vent, to make sure that you didn’t die when air unit shut off. I swore to myself that if I shall die, then I shall at least see it coming!” Langy spits into the intercom. “I know you’re there assassin! I demand that you respond to me!”
>>
>>24409691
Nah.

He can sit there in silence and die.
>>
>>24409691
Do not respond to him. Could be a mechanical failure after all.
>>
>>24409691
Stay silent. Absolutely nothing good can come from having a friendly chat with the guy we're meant to be killing.

Start setting up an ambush around his only exit from that room.
>>
>>24409691

could just be a perfectly normal machine malfunction. no assassin here. nope. just a machine in need of fixing...
>>
>>24409691
Pfffft why on earth would we respond wait for him to leave his room
>>
>>24409730
this
>>
>>24409691
Don't respond, we want him mad, we want him crazy mad, mad enough to bust out of his hidey hole to come after us so we can gank him.

If we have explosives or materials for traps set a pile of them up around the exit to the room, if it looks like he's gonna leave the room find a good place to hide near his exit so we can backstab him with Silent But Deadly.
>>
>>24409691
Hmm, any chance we could burst a waterline or two to flood his little bunker?
>>
[1/2]

You decide that you should simply let dead men be dead men and let me continue to rant and rave all he wants inside of there. You’re guarding the only exit to this area. Either he stays in there and he dies or he tries to escape and you stab him in the back. Either way, you’ve won.

“...So that’s your response? Nothing? No gloating over your victory? Not even a dignification of who or what you are?” Langy asks over the intercom, before he leans over in anger. “BULLSHIT! I SAW you back at the ritual! I saw your attempted assassination of me! You think you have the edge over me, but oh no... This old dog still has a few tricks up his sleeve...” Langy says. “I know your friends and companions are here in this town. Somewhere hiding amidst it.”

Your heart skips a beat for a moment before you regain your composure. They’re just empty threats. Langy has nothing at his disposal that could locate them, let alone beat Brooklyn, the sl- Mina, Erika, Sebastien, and Brodin.

“When your friends die, I’m going to tell them it was your fault for not facing me in person like a proper man should.” Langy says as he inputs some keys on the keyboard next to him. Alarm sirens start to flare up as Langy walks out of the camera angle.

“CARGO ELEVATOR TO SURFACE, ACTIVATED.” a monotone male voice rings out over the computer.

“What!?” you ask as you begin to look over the other monitors into the room, looking to see what the hell is going on. One of the monitors you thought was off earlier is now showing something. Two red dots starting directly at the monitor as a highlighted shape of Langy seems to hop down and disappear into a pale shade of light before vanishing.
>>
[2/2]

“UAM-186, POSEIDON CUSTOM, READY FOR LAUNCH.” the male monotone voice comes up.

“YOU BLEW YOUR CHANCE BACK AT THE RITUAL, NOW ITS TIME FOR YOU TO PAY THE CONSEQUENCES FOR IT!” Langy’s voice roars over the intercoms of the room. A loud beastial roar coming down the door hallway from the CIC which sends shivers down your spin.

Fuckity fuck fuck.

Okay, we need to shut off the power, we can't let him get his roving murderbot to the surface.

Then we need to determine where he is, where the Poseidon is and murder him.

From what we know about UAMs do they have AI or do they need to be piloted?

If it's the latter if we beat him to the UAM we can assassinate him as he tries to get in it.
>>
>>24408864
Langly is in UAM 186. How the fuck can we activate UAM 187? We need to find it and figure it out.
>>
>>24410219
>Langy has nothing at his disposal that could locate them
Except Brooklyn's blood. On his knife from when he stabbed her in the shoulder. And he's a Blood Control specialist. Just saying. Seeing as the 'let him beat them' bit has been nicely satisfied by the giant anti-demon mech.
>>
>>24410228
Giant robot? Meet building crushing tentacle.
>>
>>24410266
I think he's already in the mech i saw we find UAM 187 and beat him in honorable mech combat
>>
>>24410266

According to the note you read earlier, this UAM has been converted to be piloted manually. Most others are AI controlled.
>>
>>24410343
But we're a Laminian, and probably not that good at Mech Combat.

All we need to do is be very stealthy and get in that cockpit with him.
>>
>>24410361
Anon don't be silly mechs are designed to be able to be piloted by teenagers with no prior experience in mech combat and that is exactly what we are.
>>
>>24410390
I dunno, they're designed for Teenagers with Attitude, I'm not sure Ada has enough Attitude to pilot a mech.
>>
Is there a way to shut down the elevator before it's to the surface? So he can't get it out?
>>
>>24410352

so there is still a chance to kill Langly without destroying the suit.

we will need to cover all the external sensors. Preferably via paint or freezing the lenses. Then, he will have to use an alternative to see, mainly opening the hatch and using the Mk 1 eyeball. That is when we Whack him. Then we get not only Fort Hope, but also the UAM-186 Poseidon Custom...
>>
>>24410416
Either get there and cut some important cable on the elevator, hit the right control on a panel, cut the power to the elevator either through hitting the power cable to it or the power source.
>>
>>24410390
>>24410412
UAM 187 is AI controlled anyway, it'll pilot itself if we find it. And the AI specifically designed for piloting mechs will be a lot better than Langy.
But I'd rather it not come to that.

If we can get that unmanned mech to fight him, we can watch the fight and hit him when he's vulnerable.

CAUSE LAMINIANS DO IT FROM BEHIND
>>
>>24410437

let us fight him in the elevator atop the mech. In theory, the elevator should take a while getting topside, and it should be small enough for the Mech to be unable to fight, so we can brake our way into the cockpit, off Langly and find some way to stop the deployment of the Mech.
As they say, what has been seen, cannot be unseen...
>>
>>24410622

For reference, Langy is already inside of the mech. Up in >>24410219 , his shape was seen hopping into it.
>>
Watching the cockpit feed, you can see Langy not sitting into the cockpit of the unit, punching in some information on his computer next to him before grabbing two control sticks, one in each hand. There was no way you could’ve made that distance to beat Langy to the cockpit in time. It was still all the way down the hall and nearly all the way across a massive mechanics bay.

“DAMNIT LANGY! WHY DON’ YA JUST DO-DO ALREADI!?” you swear aloud, your native accent bursting through while in a fit of panic as you look over all the options you have to stop the elevator. First is to disable the ‘nuclear’ power core. The second would be to go into the elevator itself and see if you can freeze the gears raising it. You don’t know which one of the dozen computers actually controls the elevator, and by the time you find it Langy will probably be long on the surface.

“Out of da oven and into da fyre...” you mutter to yourself as panic begins to set over you, searching for the information on UAM-186. The information you get when you VERY quickly gloss over a document is that UAM-186 was engaged in fighting some demons underwater before it was assumed to be damaged. The optic feeds on it are out, but apparently it is transmitting a signal still. A large body of water that is... still quite a few kilometers from your current location. If anything this should make someone like Miyu have a wet dream to know something like this is still in relatively good condition.

“Calm down... Just... Think about wa needs fixin’ to...” you say as you control your breathing to think about what to do next.
>>
>>24410719
We hit the nuclear stuff we'll fuck so much up it's not even funny.

Time to freeze the gears and then with the time that buys we cut something important powering the elevator.

Note, if we can put the elevator in free fall by cutting the right cables the G-Forces from stopping ought to fuck Langy up something fierce inside of it but the mech'll be fine because it's built tough.
>>
>>24410719
Freeze the elevator gears than freeze over the mechs optics.
>>
>>24410719

well, no power means no doors, so that option is a no-go.

so it's a race to the elevator to seize the gears.
seconding >>24410765 to freeze over the optics.

Do we know how large the cargo elevator is?
is it large enough for him to fully utilize the Mech in combat?
also, ripping Langly from the cockpit will give us our 'top-of-the-mech' showdown.
>>
[1/2]

You burst out of the CIC and race towards the other door at the end of the hallway, it quickly opening up for you as you step in front of it. Looking up, you can see that the elevator is slowly beginning to make its way towards the surface, just tall enough to be about two stories up off the ground. Looking across the room that is now semi-lit by flashing lights everywhere, you can see that is about 50 meters by 50 meters, nearly all of it being taken up by a massive cargo that is now lifting above your head.

You quickly bolt over to the ladder nearby, climbing as fast as you can up to the top of the slowly ascending elevator in order to gain access to the gears you hear moving up on top on the elevator. Looking up at the elevator, you guess that there are about six or seven more stories left before the cargo elevator reaches the top.

“I SEE YOU!” Langy roars out from his mech. Turning around, you can see what appears to be the Poseidon. Nearly four stories tall in of itself. Turrets with targeting lasers aim themselves directly at you despite your invisibility. The two red eyes can be seen glowing on its head with a small beak like protrusion. The two arms appear to have no hands, appearing to be replaced with large blades that glow a deep golden colour from their heat.

A large hailstorm of bullets immediately showers your location. You summon up a ice shield to assist, but only to notice that the bullets blow though the supernaturally toughened ice as if it were not even there. You quickly dive towards a nearby steel cargo container, kneeling down to the ground as the Poseidon's bullets quickly begin to turn it into swiss cheese.
>>
[2/2]

In the split second you’re able to see something, you point your hand over to the head of the unit, quickly enchasing it’s optics in a solid slab of ice.

“WHAT THE!?!” Langy exclaims over the machine’s intercom as his vision becomes frozen.

Taking that as your cue, you quickly reach on out, aiming for the gear on one of the walls, summoning up as much as you can to try and stop the elevator from rising up.

“THAT WON’T WORK!” Langy roars as you can see a few small bursts come out from Langy’s back. Looking up into the air for a brief second, you can see they’re small metallic drones hovering around the area, about six in total that you can see.

When the drones catch sight of you, the turrets immediately turn their attention back over to you again, two of them beginning to immediately shower you with another hailstorm of deadly accurate bullets.

You quickly bolt off from behind the cover, taking your knives and using them to swat aside a few stray shots before you duck behind another container. All while you see the beak unit on the Poseidon open up, showing a glowing red contraption in the middle before firing out on the ice covered gear, the superheated plasma melting it within a second.

“Damnit!” you curse to yourself as the turrets begin to shred the cargo box you’re behind. This is insane. Getting close to this thing without being shot to pieces is a challenge in itself, but even Brodin or an Aide would be hard pressed to shrug off even a glancing blast from that cannon. To add insult to injury, it appears this thing is able to see through your cloaking powers, forcing you to rely on mundane stealth... which is tricky due to nearly six aerial spotters in the air.

You try to glance out to the large behemoth machine in front of you, trying to scan for any sort of weak point on it. However that is tricky to do, as while trying not to be shot you can only see that the machine is fairly well armoured from head to toe. The joints appear to be the only weak-ish points, and even those appear to be laced in some modestly thick armour.

“Now where was I!?” Langy says as she sheer heat from the pulsating energy cannon in the beak begins to melt off the ice on his visor. The mech turns around to your cargo container beak expanding once more as it begins to charge up the next blast.

“SHET!” you exclaim as you quickly run out of the way as the plasma blast blows through the metal container as if it were not even there, both ends of the melt container flying out of the way as Langy’s plasma blows it away.

You do your best to deflect the sheer volume of shots incoming at you, only to feel the slight burning of your flesh as a few of them manage to nick you. You’re used to parrying arrows and thrown objects, not bullets!

You begin to lure Langy’s fire to one of the nearby gears, hoping that you can at least tricky him into melting it into slag while you continue to dive behind piece by piece of cover.
>>
[2/2]

“TIME TO LET THE BIRDS GO FREE OF THE NEST!” Langy says over his intercom. More alarms near the top of the elevator begin to signal out the warning before it slowly begins to open up. Daylight pours into the room followed by a large volume of snow being dumped right in the middle of the elevator shaft floor. Four of the small mechanical units begin to fly up towards the opening in the ceiling.

“NO!” you say as you begin to fire out a scream of small sharp ice spikes at the aerial drones. You manage to impale one of them with ease while hitting another with your icicle barrage.

“STAY WHERE YOU ARE!” Langy says as his mech turns towards you once again, this time all four of his turrets now focused on where you are and opening fire on you.

Once again you quickly run out of the way, the two stacked cargo containers you’re behind being shredded as you once again begin to run around the area, the turrets gunfire literally being only millimeters behind your heels. Looking up you can see only four stories are left before the elevator reaches the surface.
>>
>>24411762
Use the large volume of falling snow to turn into weapons to take out all of the drones that are left, and then take as much as we can and cover the Mech with them and FREEZE it so obscure as much as possible and slow it down.

>>
“I thought you were a bit smarter than to let a water controller access to pile of snow!” you yell out in reply as you begin to use your water control powers. Using as much power as you can, you make a large spike of ice and then launch it against the Poseidon.

The mech topples over as it is hit by the projectile, appearing to do little visible damage but definitely throwing it off balance.

The autocannons are the first things to swivel towards you, aiming towards your cover as they continue to shred it.

You use the snow nearby to create a far thicker wall of ice this time. The bullets begin to rapidly chip into the ice barrier but it holding off for now.

Using the last remaining bits of snow in the area and sparing no expense to use your aether, you summon up a storm of icicles to fly off and intercept the drones. Two of the drones that attempt to escape are shredded by your attack, but one manages to escape by moving out of the firing arc range.

The ice wall lasts long enough for you to roll out of the way of an attack that the Poseidon fires the massive plasma blast once more, aiming for you as it blasts through your massive ice wall as if it wasn’t even there. The plasma blast flies up the side of the elevator shaft, instantly slagging the gear in the elevator as the blast or energy continues to fly up into the sky above.

You use the new batch of snow falling down below to make another thick ice wall for yourself, the bullets chipping off of them as you continue to defend yourself. Your aether is dangerously low at this point, putting most of your effort into just merely defending yourself and taking out half the drones, let alone making a dent in the damn thing.

...As much as it pains you to admit it, you probably need some help with this...

If we had a messenger imp prepared ahead of time we could send word to Brooklyn and co that Langley is in a combat mech exiting the bunker in a lift and we need help dealing with him.
>>
>>24412293
how about an imp from brooklyn asking if we're done yet?
>>
[1/3]

Yea, you’re done here. You did your best just trying to delay it, but now you need some more direct muscle.

“Time to call the calvary!” you say as you spread your wings and begin to take flight, bursting out from the open shaft up above and quickly soaring away from out of the mechanoids view, changing yourself in mid flight as you then land back down admist the city, people now beginning to run for cover, screaming in panic. You quickly begin to dart for Brooklyn’s house once more, knowing that your cloaking isn’t going to do any good against that giant mechanoid.

******

AND NOW BACK TO BROOKLYN, ABOUT A MINUTE EARLIER

“And that’s the proper steps for making a properly warmed cup of tea.” you say as you sip your tea.

“That’s... Quite the involved process.” Brodin says.

“Hm... I didn’t know it was all of those steps...” Erika says muttering to herself.

“Well those are only the basics. It takes a lot of practice to get the tea the p-” you are cut off from talking as you can feel a rumble beneath the ground you’re on.

“An earthquake?” Mina asks.

“...In the midst of a geologically stable region? I doubt that.” Sebastien says as he gives his teacup to the butler.

“...Woah what the hell is that!?” Brodin says pointing to the window.

You glance back, noticing a large beam of energy flying up into the noonday sky.

“...Something not good.” you quickly reply as you summon a soligram butler to put your glass away while you dart for your leather armour.

“...And me going to have to miss the show...” Alex says as he grabs his sword and begins to run outside.

As Alex runs outside with Uilodsir and Troy, a small girl with red hair immediately bolts into your house.
>>
[2/3]

“Brooklyn!” the girl’s voice calls out in a panic.

“I saw!” you say as you quickly begin to throw on your pants.

“It’s Langy! He had a UAM in his bunker!” Ada spits out.

“What!?” Sebastien gasps at Ada’s words.

“YOU THINK YOU ESCAPED FROM ME!?” Langy’s voice seems to roar out from across Fort Hope, looking out the window to see a large mechanical shape leap out from where the beam was located earlier. A massive, metal monster nearly four stories tall. It raises its head into the air, its roar literally vibrating all of the glass in your house.

“A Poseidon!?” Sebastien says as he pulls his mask over his head.

“YOU THINK YOU COULD ESCAPE FROM ME!?” Langy roars as his mech then looks directly at your house, the mechs eyes seeming to stare directly into your soul.

Ada looks up in the air outside of your house, her expression one filled with abject horror. “...Oh no... MOVE!” Ada screams as she quickly begins to dart out of the way.

A quick glance back you can see the mechanoid monster opening its beak at you, charging up energy for it’s attack.

“OH SHIT!” you exclaim as you and everyone else begin to dash out of your house, still only a bra on your upper torso as you run out of your house along with everyone else, changing into your Miranda form as you do so.

A sharp blast of energy erupts out from the Poseidon’s beak as it rips into your house, blasting through it like a piece of cheap paper as it continues to carve a path not only through your house, but up alone your house, creating a trail that goes all the way up to the walls of Fort Hope.
>>
[3/3]

“Those people!” Mina says in horror.

“They’re dead.” Brodin replies as he gets out his scythe.

“God DAMNIT!” you swear to yourself as not only Langy has killed your neighbours, but also has reduced your house into a smoldering wreck. You quickly put on the vest of your armour in the process.

“Those things are capable to tracking us, even when I cloak!” Ada says pointing up to the drone floating up about 100 meters above you.

“Spotter drones.” Sebastien says. “Most likely equipped with aetheric scanners. Anyone with enlightened essence is going to stand out.”

“WHAT’S WRONG!? THE HUNTER AFRAID THAT SHE’S NOW THE PREY!?” Langy roars out from his machine as it begins to march over to you, breaking through the wooden houses without even breaking stride. People run screaming in fear in the streets while some others have resorted to grovelling in front of Langy’s mighty war machine.

“TO ANYONE WHO BRINGS ME THE HEAD OF MY ASSASSIN AND HER COMPANIONS SHALL GET TITLE AND PASS TO WITHIN MY COURT!” Langy yells out as the machine continues to walk towards you.

“...Is this part of your plan?” you ask Ada.

“No, as the mercenaries call it, FUBAR’d.” Ada replies to you.

Okay, it's time for COMBAT.

Brodin acts as meatshield for Brooklyn, Brooklyn is our DPS right now and we need him to make sure she doesn't get splatted. Also hit Langy himself with River Styx if possible.

Brooklyn goes Darkness Form, and starts flinging as many Annihilator Beams at it as possible, prioritizing using the homing shots to take out its vision drones.

Ada uses Water Control to target any sensors and to freeze ice on it to slow it down, lock up joints, anything she can.

Erika Leaderships people, makes sure everyone is in the right place, drops Slashkinesis on it as well.

Mina and Troy get up close and turn its feet/ankles/knees into fucking scrap, use Byakko Ko.

Revision to this. Once its sensors are down and the aerial vision drones are taken out Ada can try to sneak up on Langy, Cloak using Aetheric Disguise, and climb up the UAM and break through the cockpit or once his sensors are down he might need to open it and she can backstab him then.

“Langy... You bastard... I spent years... YEARS getting that teaset!” You yell out while pointing to him. You’re going to show him just what happens when you break a Demon Lord’s most prized treasure!

(“...A what?”) Erika asks.

“You’ve lived long enough Langy... Now it’s time for me to do something I should’ve done A LONG TIME AGO!” you roar as your form slowly shifts and warps, becoming enveloped in darkness. Your eyes transform into a blood red as a cloud of darkness begins to form around you, along with many blood red eyes around you.

“Sir Brodin! Stay with Lady... Miranda and Sir Uilodsir and do your best to cover her while providing long range support! Master Sebastien, please do your best to take out those drones! Sir Alex! Please take Lady Mina along with you and attack from the right side! Sir Troy, ...Wendy and I will attack from the left!” Erika says beginning to bark out orders.

“And of the townsfolk who are against us?” Troy asks.

“Stay away from mercs and watch your back and they won’t be a problem. Now move!” Sebastien says as he immediately begins to run for cover.

The machine of Langy’s seems to give a small roar as it begins to charge after your location, several turrets on his back locking onto the middle of your shadow cloud and beginning to fire around inside of it with a fair amount of accuracy.

“What the!?” Brodin says as he jumps in front of you. A few of the bullets are eaten by shield, but a few of the bullets impact his chest before falling down to the ground. “No need to use accurate fire when shooting randomly works just as well it seems!”

“THEN LETS TAKE THAT PRINCIPLE TO HEART!” you say as you begin to rain down your destructive bolts down upon Langy’s machine, engulfing the head of machine in small explosions. Uilodsir joins you as well, summoning a large fireball above his head before hurling it towards the machine with a surprising amount of force.
>>
[2/2]

A loud bang echoes throughout the area. Looking up, you can see a drone from up above now falling down to the ground, falling through the roof of a house.

It is then that Mina and Alex reach the mech. Alex comes out swinging at the foot of the mech, but almost as if he’s exploring the armour rather than trying to severely damage it. Mina on the other hand doesn’t show any form of restraint, hitting the arm of Langy’s mech with everything she’s got. The mighty Poseidon stumbles backward a step as a result of Mina’s mighty blow.

Erika joins alongside Alex, her sword deflecting all of the bullets as she dashes towards the Poseidon’s leg in the street, her sword making a few deep gashes inside of its armour.

While the turret is distracted, Ada and Troy leap up to on top of the mechanoids head, getting out their knives and preparing to stab it, only to have their bodies scream and convulse in pain and electrical shocks a moment later as their smoking forms fall off the mechanoid.

“NICE TRY! NOW DIE!” Langy says as it takes the arm unit of the mech, swinging it towards Mina and Alex. Alex barely manages to avoid it, his black blade sliding up alongside the mechanoids arm. Mina however is hit squarely by the attack, flying back off into the distance and into the park.

“Troy and Ada are stunned, but they should still be fine!” Brodin calls out to you.

“EAT THIS!” Langy roars out to you as several puffs of smoke can be seen off the mechanoids back. Several smoke streams seem to fly out of it and up into the air, before making a sharp decline back towards your location back on the ground.

I think the simple answer is to shoot them out of the sky with annihilator beams.
>>
>>24413303
I don't think we're in a shadow right now, we're in magical darkness but not shadow, but if we are in shadow ignore the next part and just have both us and Brodin Shadow Hop to somewhere else before continuing our barrage, assuming that UIlodsir isn't right next to us, if he is and we just leave he's fucked, which is bad.

Block those missiles, blow them out of the air with Annihilator beams, have tentacles grab them and crush them into uselessness, either works. Then keep on firing massive swarms of Annihilator Beams, I want the sky to be blotted out with them, focus on taking out any and all sensors it has. Brodin keeps acting as our happy meat shield, use River Styx on Langy if he can.

Uilodsir keeps throwing fire balls at it, targeting weak points and targeting stuff.

If there are any drones left SeaBass should take them out, otherwise fully charged ACPR shot right to the cockpit.

Mina will get up soon enough and charge him and continue to beat on him. Alex and Erika keep doing their thing, try to take its mobility down.

You react immediately blotting out the sky nearby with a stream of annihilator shots. Each of them homing into Langy’s projectiles, engulfing the sky above you in massive fiery balls of energy.

“THEY’RE HERE! QUICK! SURROUND THEM!” You hear a Mercenary say nearby. Turning around to look at a corner, you can see a squad of about 15 mercenaries now coming at you.

“Elf!” you call out in your cracked voice.

“O-On it!” Uilodsir replies as begins to chant his next spell, summoning up a massive firewall to engulf the four areas of the street, cutting off the mercenaries completely.

Alex continues to do small pokes and prods on the giant mechanoid, seeming to have already calculated what the movement range on the turrets on the mechanoids body. With a sudden deft movement, Alex makes a mighty uppercut slash on the mechanoid’s legs, making a large gash in the armour and causing it to stumble.

Erika seems to then move without a beat, moving almost as if she had seen the stumbling in advance, leaping up to move directly in front of a turret. The turret tries to move up to track her, but Erika reacts by taking her sword and slashing the turret to bits before summoning up a burst of psionic power and giving a large push to the mechanoid and causing it to stumble once again.

“GAH! DAMN YOU!” Langy roars as the pieces of the turret fall next to the mech.
>>
[2/2]

Another shot rings out from Sebastien’s cannon, sending yet another automaton crashing to the ground. Only two left now.

Langy’s mech seems to take a few steps forward before leaping into the air, soaring nearly the entire length of a football field before he lands in front of you once again, his left foot crashing into another nearby house. Two of the turrets move backwards to attack Erika and Alex while the last one seems to begin peppering the area where Sebastien is sniping from.

Brodin quickly attempts to use one of his own magics, summoning ghostly flames in the middle of the area to attack Langy’s mech directly. The metal on the unit now glowing a deep red colour, the burning of the mech seeming to match Langy’s rage almost perfectly.

“TIME TO DIE WITCH!” Langy’s mech says as he raises his bladed arm high up into the air, intending it come down on top of you.

If we can Shadow Hop right now do that, just move elsewhere.

Otherwise we're in fucking Darkness Transformation, we've got all those fucking tentacles. Summon up as much tentacle as possible, all of the tentacle, grab onto that bladed arm and wrench it to the side against the path of motion of the arm. It'll pull it off balance, move the attack to the side making dodging easier and might just rip out the arm itself.

Seabass continues to murderize drones, Erika and Alex charge it, Erika attacking at range with her sword as she approaches attacking turrets.

If Ada is back up have her use Water Control to throw giant fucking spears at the turrets, Troy if he has explosives should throw them in convenient locations to hit turrets, he can't really climb up on the fucker with the shocking thingy.

Mina should be back soon enough and should DYNAMIC ENTRY Langy's mech at full force.

You use your tentacles to quickly reach up and grasp his arm, wrapping it around and stopping his advance with your massive strength. However this thing is not like a old world abandoned building. It exerts a surprising amount of strength in of itself

“WHAT THE!?” Langy calls out in a surprised tone of voice.

Brodin runs out to the leg of the mechanoid, his scythe crackling with dark power as he takes a swing on the leg, making a large gash upon it.

“NOW I GOT YOU!” Langy roars out as the beak of the unit opens up, the energy rapidly building up point blank in front of your face. Time seems to slow to a crawl as you realize that apparently you had been cornered.

“NO!” Mina calls out in horror as she blows through a house nearby, tackling you out of the way just as the plasma blast fires off again.

“GGGGGAAAAAHHHHHH!!!” Mina’s bloodcurdling cry of pain rings out.

Your time seems to slow down as you quickly pull yourself up, being knocked out of the darkness form when Mina tackled you. It feels as if your heartbeat and pulse literally stops as you look down at Mina to see what is wrong, praying that she is still in one piece.
>>
[2/2]

Mina is gritting her teeth, tears nearly coming out of her eyes as she’s holding a smoldering stump that used to be her arm.

“MINA!” you say crouching down next to her.

“It burns... so badly...” Mina says gritting her teeth as she endures the pain. “I’m... I’m fine...”

Your expression turns sour as you see what that bastard... What that little arrogant fuck has done to your best friend... There’s... There’s no way you’re letting him off this easily... Oh no... The wonderous things that you can do with him begin to float through your mind, intoxicating you while pushing your aetheric power to the limit.

(Brooklyn as activated the Okarian Rage Mode! All of the power of Brooklyn’s attacks have just increased due to extreme emotional stress!)

“Two them crashed through here!” A merc says as he boots down the door, a Swooping Hawk now looking at you dead in the eyes as he begins to charge both you and Mina.

(Oh yes, the others are still fighting Langy, but right now Brooklyn is monofocused. Also Uilodsir had to take cover due to one of the turrets focusing fire on him)

When we get sight of the Mech increase the Gravity on it, should have done that earlier, and use Shadow Lancer to pierce the fuck out of its armor aiming directly for Langy. Defend ourself with Tentacles and Cloud of Darkness.

If we have spare actions lying around an unending stream of Annihilator Beams would be nice.

Black flames begin to flicker from your body as stare at the mercenary. “Mortals should not interfere within our business...” your voice oozes with vitriol as you stare at the incoming mercenary. Your body slowly become a dark mass of solid darkness while your eyes become a blood red.

The hardened mercenary stops in his tracks as he gazes upon your vistage in sheer horror.

“lEaVe.” you command him in a single voice.

The merc does just as you command, running out of the house screaming, dropping his weapon and shield behind him.

“...Brooklyn?” Mina says looking up at you, the horror in front of her seeming to overwhelming the pain that is within her at the moment.

“ReSt...” you command her as you pull out your axe, darkness warping around it as it turns into a large and nasty bladed axe.

As you exit the building, you notice that Brodin has since transformed into into his Reaper mode, but is currently being held underfoot by the Poseidon, while the second last drone seems to fall down from the sky.

“That armour is too thick!” Alex curses as he deflects another barrage of bullets aimed at him from the turrets.
>>

“Sir Elf! Target the shoulder!” Erika calls out to Uilodsir.

“On it!” Uilodsir says as he targets the shoulder with a small barrage of exploding fireballs, impacting the already glowing hot armour and now causing it to glow and even bright colour.

Erika moves in you try and to attacking, but is simply swatted aside and send sailing off into the air where she makes contact with a nearby street vendor slot.

“YOUR TIN CAN WILL NOT SAVE YOU LANGY!” you howl as you jump up upon a nearly rooftop, your shadowy tentacles attached to your body turning into blades and cutting the molten armour to pieces before you raise your axe high into the air and bring it down with all the force you can muster, slicing cleanly through the Poseidon’s shoulder.

“NO! NO THIS SHOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE!” Langy calls out in horror as the arm falls down to the ground.

“YoUr TiMe HaS cOmE lAnGy...” Brodin’s withered reaper voice calls out as Brodin takes his scythe, leaping into the air and sweeping it across another turret, cutting it neatly in half.

Just as Brodin slashes with his sword, both Ada and Troy leap onto the Poseidon’s back once more, but this time only staying on for a brief second to put large rocks into the missile ports onto the Poseidon’s back.

>>
[1/2]

Deciding that it’d be best to make Langy’s life a living hell, you immediately increasing the gravity within the area of his mechanoid to the absolute limit.

The Poseidon creaks under the enhanced gravity, it standing upright while a nearby wagon is crushed under the force of your own gravity. The two remaining turrets struggle to track their remaining targets while the bullets are weighed down by the increased gravity.

“Ranged attacks! Keep pressing on!” Erika says as she runs over to you from across the rooftops, her nose now bloody as she ranged attacks press onwards to the mech.

“WHY YOU LITTLE!” Langy says as the turrets aim towards you, appearing to have corrected themselves for the adjustment of the local gravity.

Alex quickly jumps in front of you, his sword quickly parrying the shots that are aimed towards you.

Brodin does one more act before his Reaper form fades away, floating up in front of Langy’s and slamming his scythe down on top of his head, the tip of it going inside of his armour as he then struggles to take it out.
>>
[2/2]

“MY SOUL WON’T BE CLAIMED BY YOU TODAY REAPER!” Langy screams out as the Poseidon’s beak opens up once more, firing a blast of energy point blank at Brodin, sending him soaring over the walls of Fort Hope, his scythe still embedded within Poseidon’s head.

“MIRANDA!” Ada calls out as she walks over to the arm of Poseidon that you cut of.

Following her cue, you quickly make the gravity far lighter in the area Ada and Troy are within. With it, they are easily able to lift the entire arm, leaping high up into the air and now dive bombing the massive blade aimed at the back of the Poseidon. The turret moves around to attack Ada, but Ada seems to have prepared for this as she has summoned up a thick wall of ice in front of as she dives.

The blade tears a large gash across the back of the Poseidon, it stumbling over as the
remaining launchers on its back are effectively rendered obsolete. This is followed up with another high impact explosive fireball blast from Uilodsir, this one bursting into flames all over Poseidon’s armour and continuing to burn.

“POWER DROPPING! NO!” Langy screams in frustration as the Poseidon stumbles. “HOLD TOGETHER YOU BLASTED PIECE OF SCRAP METAL!”

FINISH THIS
>>
[1/2]

You think it is about time that you go on about and finish this once and for all. You run back over to the head of the Poseidon, firing off about four Shadow Lancers directly into the top of the unit point blank. The slam through the armour as if it were paper, twisting the tentacles inside and sending out spikes to twist around in the wound. The electroshock system filling your body with electricity, but at this point you don’t give a damn. With a loud scream of effort and a massive amount of strength, you literally begin to rip the head off of the Poseidon mechonoid, riding it until it crashes to the ground.

Just as you use your darkness tentacles to try and pry open the cockpit, you’re thrown off the head. Stumbling upright once again, you can see a stream of smoke heading up into the air, stopping briefly as it reaches the apex of its height before it begins to fall back to the ground and landing within the park area with it’s parachute.

“LLLLAAAANNNNGGGGYYYY!” you scream as you begin to run across the town, heading over to the position where Langy is going to land. People run away from you, screaming in horror as the monster within the cloud of darkness roars the name of the town’s lord in rage as it runs over to intercept him.
>>
[2/2]

At full speed it doesn’t take that long to get there, getting there just as the pod of Langy’s opens up, the first sight of the outside world being one of pitch blackness and the horrifying visage of your form. Allowing Langy to see just exactly how pissed off you are at the moment.

“DIE WITCH!” Langy says as he takes out a dagger and begins to run towards you. This would be funny as hell if nearly every thought process in your head wasn’t being used to figure out what to do with him next.

(I think I’m going to go to bed now. You’re free to do what you want to Langy, as he was pretty aether drained from the ritual fight he had against you a few days ago. Think carefully, as what you choose to do with him will speak volumes to the people within Fort Hope)

humm... thinking we should restrain him and perhaps hold a trial. Have the people of fort hope judge him as he has recklessly endangered their lives and cares nothing for them. Could bring evidence against him of blood sacrifices and other stuff if Erika and Leona feel conferable about it.

Problem is that news will get out about us most likely.

relay at this point i doubt we can keep a lid on knowledge of our existence getting out so think it would be better that we were viewed in a positive light.

I've been in too many games where not killing the bad guy when we could came back to bite us in the ass hard. Ada already has all the info we need and Mina deserves better then his tainted aether. As far as the town's concerned, we've obviously engaged in a fight to the death already. A trial is just a way of pussying out of responsibility for our actions while making the whole thing an even bigger deal then it already is. Killing the guy is one thing. Putting him on trial for following his lords commands and publicly condemning the Pride Demon rulership places a much larger target on our heads.

do we even know if Minas arm can be regrown or replaced? Cause this is a big deal. Though I suppose if her arm cannot be healed, once Amanda becomes a Miyan, she could SCIENCE! Mina a new arm...

>>
>>24418182
Yeah, putting the corpse on display might've been a bit too much. Mostly just put it there since plenty of people felt the need to have his death be public or the corpse displayed so people won't start questioning if he's still alive or just hiding. I honestly don't care about that as much, but there isn't much use killing there, he'll be much more useful if we feed him to the queens or extract some information. Might be a good idea to check if we can somehow get him to grow Mina's arm back, still not sure if demons regrow limbs without the help of magic.

Speaking of character sheets:

So I was thinking ...

A quick clean kill in front of everyone. Do not let that body out of our sight also.

I'm thinking of using his body as way to symbolizes the end of his rule and start of a new one by burning it in front of the palace or something. Maybe having Ada laying her claim as lord of the city with Erika supporting it in front of the people as they set his body on fire. Try to cut off any riots or power grabs before they even start.

Thoughts? I fully admit this might not be the most thought out plan.

Just vanish again. Ada spend ten years sorting out the succession and making sure there wouldn't be any competitors. The way he died might add some complications but I'm sure she can handle it.
This is going to bring enough Pride Demon attention as it is without openly trying to take control of the city.

Yea this thread is nearly dead.

Once I get some food, I'll make a new thread now

Hooray!
>>
>>24419362

hmmm, wouldn't it be good if Ol Blizzy was also to endorse Adas Puppet, then leave to 'Hunt' the 'fiends' who did this...
>>
>>24419501
Could we get a status on the "demon can regrow limbs" thing? Some anon claimed you said they could but there is no reference to it.
>>
>>24419829
Might be a bit suspicious. He goes missing, then turns up for a day and then goes missing again.
>>
Kill the Langs man and disappear. Leave Ada to sort things out like she planned. Good thing we're not in a form right now where anyone would recognize us.
>>
>>24419910

Hell, I still don't know why we haven't repainted Blitz's old armor and been using it to train and fight yet. It would have been a lot more useful then the old worn out stuff we have on now!
>>
>>24420018
I'm kinda wondering what kind of bonuses that nerco armor has. If it's got plus darkness control to it we have to use that over Blitzs armor.
>>
>>24420051
necromancy boost that we can't use because brodin is a friend
>>
>>24419835

I'll be addressing that in the next thread. I need to tally up the votes as things seem to be split of gut Langy or feed him to the Queens.
>>
>>24420174
>necromancy boost

Can I ask where it says that? Looking at this thread and last it doesn't seem to say that anywhere.

Another issue is if it did give such a boost why would Brodin suggest a Necroarmour to fix it? Shouldn't he have just destroyed it as per his job. Being all anti-necro and such.

Longs I don't think it's large leap to think such a way. I just don't see why Brodin would say that if it did have such magic properties is all.
>>
>>24420335

The exact possible boosts of the armour haven't been discussed yet. You've yet to get it evaluated. The armour is busted beyond repair, so it'd need to be repaired.

One thing it does seem to have is very high defense for an armour.
>>
>>24420335
>Brodin suggest a Necroarmour to fix it?
because it's durable as hell?
>>
>>24420421
So ... there someone in TO that can fix it? Heh.
>>
>>24420421
>it's busted beyond repair, so it'd need to be repaired
Haha, what.
>>
>>24420913

it's necroarmour. It was 'dead' to begin with...
>>
>>24420913
>>it's busted beyond repair
use/ easy repair

Derp.

Busted beyond use. It should be fine after being repaired.
