Synopsis:

We are Three-Claw, a soon-to-be Yautja hunter of the Cloud Viper clan. You have been tasked by your clan Matriarch to embark on a hunt on the world of Fey'lenn, or Pandora, as it is known to humans.

You have equipped yourself adequately, but still need to requisition a ship and see ourselves through the ascension ceremony.

<--- Picture shows our current inventory and equipment.

It is getting late in the day. You make your way to the shipyard.
>>
>>24348485
Massive silhouettes of many hangers and factories greet you as you step off the shuttle. Larger Yautja ships are built in orbital foundries, but the clan's smaller, more personal craft are all designed and manufactured here.

You enter and ask for the Ship master.

An old and gaunt female greets you.

"You are Three-Claw. I have been expecting you. I have been asked to provision you a ship. Now, what is the exact nature of your mission and what sort of ship would you like?"

You answer:

A: "It is a hunt. I may be there for some time. I will need a large cargo space and a strong power-plant to last many moons.
B: "It is a reconnaissance mission. Stealth and speed are my priorities."
C: "I am expecting trouble. I need something with fire power and armor."

"Very well, youngling. I have just the ship for you."

The Shipmaster gestures you to follow her.

The two of you walk down a massive corridor with rows of hangers on both sides. Suddenly, a ship catches your eye.

"Shipmaster... that ship there -" you point to a dark and sleek ship sitting in one of the hangers to the right. "I recognize its markings. That's my father's ship."

The Shipmaster pauses. "Ah. Yes. That belonged to the veteran hunter Silent-Blade. You are his son? Yes... The clan mourns his loss."

Do you:

"If you can spare a moment, honourable Shipmaster, I would like to take a look at it."

"I understand. Go, but do not spend too long."

You approach the ship and admires its fine, sleek form. The ship is ancient, and its markings show a lineage that extends far beyond your father.

You notice the ramp is open and extended, and glance inside. The interior is small and spartan, but adequate. There is a small sarcophagus, for sleeping, and a trophy rack next to the armoury.

"The Executrix, your mother, asked me to refurbish this ship. It came back in a rather awful condition. It is an older model, and not everything works as efficiently as I'd like."

Do you:

>>B: Ask her for her recommendation on whether this ship is fit to fly.

"Oh it'll fly. The engine has a nasty habit of venting plasma when you gun the throttle, and can't sustain top speed for too long. The cloaking system is two generations old, and won't work well in atmosphere, but in space, it's flawless. The weapon systems... well, take a look at the cannons.

I can't even tell what generations these are. They're massively energy inefficient, but they're quite capable of levelling a mountain. I was going to replace them with something more modern, but haven't had a chance. If you ask me, it'll fly fine; it's taken its share of beatings and is still in one piece, so I doubt it'll fail now. But I would really consider something more modern."

You thank her.

>>B: Leave it and continue onwards.
You thank the Shipmaster for her indulgence, and ask to continue on. She senses your disappoint.

"Look, young one, the only reason why your mother asked me to take this ship under my care is so that some day, she'll be able to pass it to you. It's a fine ship, with a glorious history in our clan. I will restore it, and modernize it, and give this ship every honour it deserves."

You thank her again, and take one last look at the ship before walking away.

She leads you at least to a hanger near the end of the yard. Inside is a small and sleek craft.

The Shipmaster tells you her name. "The Wind-Adder. Small, fast, and stealthy. Go on. Take a look."

You approach and examine the ship. She's very pleasing on the eyes. She's clearly new, and the manufacture markings tell you she only recently finished its trials.

>>A. Ask about the weapon and stealth systems

"Not much in terms of fire power, unfortunately, You have the standard Plasma Bore under the chin, capable of hitting precision targets over orbital ranges. There are two extend-able plasma cannons along the spine, for point defense. The missile bay holds two Catalyst-class fission torpedoes."

"Stealth systems, on the other hand, are top of the line. She'll cloak fine in air, in space, in water, you name it. There's also a low-energy mode, which allows you to cloak when landed for long periods of time with very low power consumption. Her stealth trial benchmarks show sixty days of continuous cloak on a full capacitor bank while landed and two days while in flight."

>>B. Ask about the power plant and engine

"The power plant is small, but adequate. It's not designed to be running for long periods of time in the atmosphere, so you should find a place to park with priority. It's also not built for protracted fire fights. Four for five shots from your plasma bore will drain the thing dry."

"The engine is adequate, and works well in the atmosphere. It has two modes - high performance and low emission. In performance mode, she's FAST, hot, and loud. In low emission mode, she's slow, but silent."

>A: Ask her to show you a tour inside

She bids you to follow. The ramp is already extended, and the interior is open to you. Even from here, you can see the interior is quite small, even smaller than your father's ship. The ceiling is quite low, and you are barely able to stand without hitting your head. The tall Shipmaster, however, needs to duck.

"This ship was designed for stealth, not comfort. Here's the cockpit. Controls link to your mask. Autopilot controls are here - this ship is built with the latest pilot computing systems and practically flies herself.

"Here is your sarcophagus, for sleeping. There, behind this hatch, is your trophy rack. Down here are your armoury and medical station. No auto-surgical pod, unfortunately; there's simply no room. Just a good supply of medikits."

She opens a hatch above you, revealing a ladder, and bids you to take a look. "That's the storage bay. Small, I know. Won't be able to hold much. Some ammunition, rations, a few mines perhaps... you'll need to forage and hunt for supplies. That hatch leads to the power conduits, in case you need to fix something, and those hatches lead to the engine pylons."

"That's all. It's a small ship. Some would call it cozy, I call it a design compromise."

The two of you exit.

"Well, that's all. Now, I need you to make a decision."

"Good. I'll have it charged up and ready to go in two days. Come see me then. Now, if there is nothing else, I am needed elsewhere."

You thank her, and bid her farewell.

You glance at your wrist computer and decide it's time to head to your ascension ceremonies.

You catch a shuttle from the shipyard and head towards the Ritual Hall. You find your mother and mentor already waiting. They seem to be having a heated argument. You catch what you can.

"... you should know better, Jackal. He's too young. Nothing good ever came from hunting on Fey'lenn."

"He is ready, Executrix. I trained him. Or do you doubt my teaching skills? You need to know what happened. The Clan needs to know what happened..."

"...and you should be the one to find out!"

"I am old, and he deserves to find out what happened to his father. We all do. The entire clan needs to know. He needs to make this journey for honour. It is what he needs to unlock his potential."

You stand still, on the landing platform and listen patiently.

"You and I both know what's on Fey'lenn, Jackal."

"Yes. And your son does as well."

"And you think he can succeed and survive where his father failed?"

"He is stronger than his father. He is better now than his father was at his prime. Or do you doubt how well I knew Silent-Blade?"

"Don't speak to me of this, Jackal. His father's wish for was for you to mould his son into a worthy warrior, and now you are sending him to his death."

Your mentor is silent. "Then you do not know your son as I do." He turns in your direction. "Come down, boy. You've heard enough."

You click your throat in embarrassment and walk towards them.

Your mentor looks at you and clicks in amusement. "Good to see you are geared up, but I'm afraid you'll need to take them off again for your ceremony. Now is the time for you to make a choice. Who would you like to braid your dreadlocks? Who do you name to bear witness and carry your honour from a youngling to a hunter?"

You pick:

>A: Your mentor
You humbly ask your mentor to perform the dreadlock weave.

Your mother growls. "I suppose it is fitting." She turns to you. "You are my son. I do not give birth to weaklings. The task is difficult." She briefly turns to your mentor. "Unreasonably difficult. But you will triumph. Make sure your ship returns with you on it. I will see you in the ceremony."

You follow your mentor to the preparation room, where you take off your newly acquired hunting gear and place them neatly in the provided arms locker.

Your mentor drapes the ceremonial cape around you and lead you into the ritual hall. The massive rotunda is covered in murals, and the clan's elders stand in a ring around you. Your mother is among them. The Warrior Chief steps forward and makes a short but formal speech, and hands your mentor a tray with the braiding tools.

"This will be slightly uncomfortable," your mentor tells you. You suddenly feel a sharp, throbbing pain on your scalp. You endure it.

The entire ordeal lasted five hours, and you suffered agonizing pain for every second of it. But you endure, and remain silent. At last, it is done. The pain subsides as quickly as it came. Oddly, you feel different; refreshed, somehow.

Your mentor hands you a flask and bids you to drink. You take a swig and find it to be some strong spirit. It is good, and you drink more.

The entire hall erupts into laughter. It is done. You are now a hunter.

The warrior chieftain now presents you with blank mural and a carving knife, and asks you to draw your insignia to be entered into the clan annuls.

You take the knife and carve the likeness of Lothkai, the ancient Yautja god of cunning and ambush. It is a head with horned hunting mask. The Chieftain takes the mural and passes it to your mother.

Your mother gives a throaty click. "Excellent design. I approve." She passes it to your mentor.

"Cunning and precise. Two skills which you hold in abundance. Remember this when you embark upon your hunt."

The mural is passed back to the Chieftain. He gives a long howl, puts his hand upon your newly weaved dreads, and proclaims, "Three-Claw, the Cloud-Viper Clan hunter!"

It is done. You spend the night in celebration, drinking and socializing with your fellow hunters.

You wake up the next day and prepare for the coming task.

You store and note down what you can in your wrist-computer for later review. You are surprised at how resilient and strong the local fauna seems to be.

You then cross reference your father's flight recordings with the planet's geography, and manage to trace his route. You note this down for later. You finish your studies over the local ecosystem, and is just about to start on terrain and climate patterns, the archivist aide informs you it's late and the archives are closing. "Come back tomorrow," she tells you, "It's rare to see a male so engrossed in knowledge."

>B. Continue studying Fey'lenn's terrain and climate patterns at the archives.

You decide to spend another day at the archives.

You diligently study the terrain and weather patterns of the planet. As you engross yourself in the temperature and moisture readings, you are interrupted by the young female aide.

She places a black slab on your desk and depresses a button. A 3d holographic model of Fey'lenn appears before you. With her fingers, she spins, zooms, and rotates the model with ease. You also note accurate and dynamic depictions of climate patterns.

"I have noticed your interest, and constructed this holo-map of the planet in my spare time by using my data crawling algorithm. It won't be more accurate than the flight maps in your ship, but this will prove to be much more portable. You can also link it to your vision mask. I like you. You should come back after your trip so we can mate."

You click your throat, and thank her. She wishes you good hunting, and leaves.

You continue to study with diligence.

As night falls, you return to your lodge to find a message from the Shipmaster. Your ship is ready to fly tomorrow.

This will be the last night you spend at home. You look around, and decide to take a souvenir with you as a good luck charm.

>>B. A small hunting dagger which was the only thing you have as memory of your father

You take the small dagger and place it next to your war gear. It has a fine and sharp blade. As your mother tells it, your father, during his hunting trials, impaled a particularly large black-beast with his combi-stick. But the beast, in its death throes, gripped the bladed tip with its talons and snapped one of them clean off. Afterwards, your father collected the splintered blade and fashioned it into a knife.

You think briefly about your father, and sleep soundly.

It is the next day, and the last day you will spend here. You check your wrist computer and find your ship has been delivered to the space port, ready for launch.

You find messages from your mother, your mentor and the matriarch bidding you good luck. Your mother also suggests you go to the market and see what you can buy to better prepare yourself. You thank them all, and take your mother's advice.

You put on your war gear and head to the market.

Two things catch your eye.

A. You can hire a ship technician to look over your ship and perform tuning/enhancements.
B. You can hire a war smith to look over your war gear and perform tuning/enhancements.
C. You can go to the provision market and purchase specialized / non-standard ammunition.

Do you realize that Yautja females kill their mates during sex? A waifu isn't a good thing in this game, for once. We want to live. A waifu is fucking dangerous.

Kind of interested in market.

We've got a lot of gear that seemingly works fine, a ship that can stay invisible for a fuck-off long period of time. We should be good on those ends.

Also a question - the battery we got, can we recharge it in our armor if we get the opportunity (I know it'll take 10hrs to do so and prevents us from charging our armor *if* we can) or is it a oneshot?

>> A,hire a ship technician

You contact one of the prominent ship technicians in the market and asks him to look over your ship.

The retired pilot follows you to the space port and examines the Wind-Adder in great detail.

He gives you a list of possible improvements he can perform:

(We have 57000 credits.)

A: Tune the sensor systems to make them more accurate (20000 credits)
B: Tune the weapons systems to increase the range of the plasma bore cannon (12000 credits)
C: Tune the stealth systems to decrease its activation time (35000 credits)
D: Install a remote communication system which allows you to monitor your ship's condition from your mask where ever you are (30000 credits)
E: Replace the two plasma turrets with plasma auto-cannon turrets, which fire faster and further than the generic turrets (40000 credits).
F: Replace both plasma turrets with a single plasma mortar tube, which can fire plasma artillery balls up to 50 kms in range. (40000 credits) Can only be used when on planet.

I think you guys need to remember that the implication here was it's been quite a while since the film Avatar happened. Remember RDA back then? They were limited as fuck by regulations, international laws, etc. in what they could bring to the planet and what they could do. All the cool toys they were using (and by the way, canonically, they had thermoptic camouflage)? That shit was their equivalent of old AK-47s and rubber bullets.

Weyland-Yutani isn't going to give a steaming shit about those regulations, assuming they haven't bought the government yet and can just fuck them. It'll be railgun pistols, dragon gunships and invisible UAV's fucking everywhere - and since they have FTL travel (albeit relatively slow) they can bring in reinforcements relatively quickly with REALLY big guns.

>>C: Tune the stealth systems to decrease its activation time (35000 credits)

You ask the technician to tune the sensor and stealth systems. You transfer the credits his account and he begins his work. He informs you it will only take a few hours.

You have 2000 credits left, which will not be able to buy much on the market.

You spend the time wisely preparing your war gear and doing some last-minute checks. The technician informs you the enhancements are complete. You examine the results and find them satisfactory. The sensors are now incredibly responsive and the cloak activates fully in less than a second.

You thank the technician and enter the cockpit.

The ship around you vibrates as you start the engine. You give the space port your clan identification, and gun the throttle. The ship responds instantly, and soon, you find yourself leaving your home.

You tap in Fey'lenn's coordinates and engage fold-space. The journey will take six days.

You must now decide what you should set for your destination.

A. Set to exit at the outer edge of the moon's solar system.

Unlikely, but a few defense satellites are a definite possibility and as I said above, all it'd take is one missile or a few seconds of laser fire/one good particle beam shot and we're history.
>>
Why would they have fleets or fortifications in orbit around Pandora? Nothing down there can attack space targets, and no ship or station can defend from a Xenomorph infestation.
>>
>>24352460
>A. Set to exit at the outer edge of the moon's solar system.
You set the coordinates to the outer edge of the solar system and engage fold-space. Space around you flash brilliantly as the engine does its work, and you are on your way.

An uneventful and cramped six days later, your ship appears on the outer edge of what the humans call "Alpha Centauri A"'s solar system.

You quickly throttle up the engine and burn away from the flashy and hot exit point to engage stealth.

You perform a full scan of the system, and find most of the activity around the only gas giant in the system, around which Fey'lenn orbits.

You detect six Weyland ships in orbit around Fey'lenn, but there is a seventh signature on the far side of the system. It is faint, and does not appear to be moving. You are thankful for having the foresight of improving your sensors. You would not have detected this otherwise. But even so, you cannot make out its details unless you approached closer.

Do you:

A: Head towards the gas giant
B: Head towards the faint signature on the other side of the system

>>
>>24352672
>>B: Head towards the faint signature on the other side of the system

You decide to investigate the signal. The journey would take too long on conventional engines, so you once again engage fold space. A moment later, you appear on the opposite edge of the solar system.

You scan the ship. It resembles a large frigate in size. It is clearly no longer operational, though its weapons still radiate with heat. A visual scan indicates this is not a Weyland clan ship but a Colonial Marines clan ship. You recall your studies, and know that the Colonial Marines are famed for being human warriors.

But you detect no bio-thermal signatures aboard this vessel.

The ship does not appear to have suffered any external damage.

What do you do?

A. Attempt to board the ship
B. Shoot its weapons to make sure they're disabled.
C. Leave it alone and head back to the gas giant.

>A. Attempt to board the ship
You decide to investigate further.

You scan the ship's exterior for a suitable entry point. You find, to your surprise, several pod-like protrusions which were most certainly not part of the ship's original structure.

You fly your ship closer, and immediately recognize their function.

These are boarding pods.

If you can knock one of them off, you may use the existing hole to board the ship.

Suddenly, you detect a flare in the ship's systems.

The powerplant is cycling! The weapons are powering up.

How can this be? You double check your scans. The life support systems are still quiet. Gravity systems are on, but nothing is pressurized.

You must decide quickly.

A. Engage your engines and back off to a safe distance.
B. Shoot first - disable its guns before they power up.
C. Shoot one of the boarding pods and ram your ship through the hole. Your ship's crystalline armor is far stronger than the human alloy.

At some point yes - it makes it a bit less like a choose your own adventure from presented options.

I believe fairest rolling would be to set DC's for things (ranging somewhere between 5-20, 5 being 'needs a check but is easily accomplished, 20 being 'almost impossible) with first 3 linked rolls after request for them being used - all others being discarded. 20 is either a critical success, or a success, 1 is a 'critical' fail (ie, it cancels out 1 success, or has 'possible bad results if no normal successes were achieved). Standard successes are standard, standard failures have no *horrible* implications behind them, although they could result in being unable to atempt the task again.

Okay, look slike we have a 3 way tie for A B and C here.

Which is good. Let's try our hand at rolling.

So here are the DC checks for each choice (pass/fail) and we'll be using D20.

B. Shoot first - disable its guns before they power up.(DC 7)
C. Shoot one of the boarding pods and ram your ship through the hole. Your ship's crystalline armor is far stronger than the human alloy. (DC 10)

>>B. Shoot first - disable its guns before they power up.(DC 7)

You power up the plasma bore-cannon and fire two consecutive shots at the two cannons facing you.

The plasma burns straight through the hull and cores straight the ship. The guns instantly explode into molten metal.

Suddenly, your sensors light up. You detect a flight of 5 fast moving small craft moving towards you from behind the gas giant. They will be here in less than an hour.

Do you:

A. Leave quickly.
B. Stay and engage the stealth systems to observe them.
C. Board the ship.

Aye, take this mans advice.

DC-10 with best-of-3 is statistically equivalent to a DC 3 roll (well 2.5 actually, but you can't roll 2.5 of a dice).

> B. Stay and engage the stealth systems to observe them.

You quickly burn your engines away from the ship, cut your engines to low emission, and engage stealth.

You then slowly creep your way back towards the ship while cloaked.

A short time later, the wing of 5 crafts arrive. A short scan reveals them to be quite agile but poorly armored. Their main armament appear to be a stock of missiles under each wing-pylon.

You observe silently as each craft circles in search of your ship. At first, they do this in formation, but as you wait, they slowly start to separate.

Perhaps if you wait long enough, you may pick them off one by one, but on the other hand, since they're packed so close together, you could eliminate them all with a single fission torpedo.

Do you:

A. Wait and continue observing
B. Fire a torpedo and try to destroy them all (DC 14)
C. Engage your engines and slip away.

>A. Wait and continue observing

You wait patiently as they perform their sweeps. You note the markings on each ship, and determine them to be Weyland ships. It is unlikely they will detect you, but you cut the engines just to be certain.

Your passive scans indicate a great deal of comm traffic between one of the crafts and the derelict frigate.

You can tap in and listen if you turn your sensors to active interception, but you must do this carefully, to avoid give away your position.

Alternatively, you can position yourself between the lead craft and the frigate to intercept the comm signal passively, but this will require skilled piloting and engine usage, which may also give away your position.

Do you:

A. Do nothing.

>>B. Use your improved sensors to intercept the signal (DC 13)

You carefully align your sensors to the frigate's comm receivers. You find the comms to be heavily encrypted, but your sensors is able to unravel the encryption with some effort. Parsing the results through your translator, and you're able to pick up a broken and semi-coherent discussion.

You listen intently.

Weyland Craft: ...distress signal... caught something unexpgdfgdg.... nothing on sengfdgdfg.... status....

Marine Frigate: ... colonial identification not found. Weapons inoperdsgsgjdfg... Decks 2 through 5 desgfdsgdfh ...

Weyland Craft: ...casualties...

Marine Frigate: ...synthetic squads 4 through 12 caught injdfgsdhgkdshfg ... survivors...

Weyland Craft: ...specimen status?

Marine Frigate: ... loose ... quarantine...

You attempt to patch together the meaning of this transmission.

If you boost your sensor power, you may be able to process the signal faster.

Do you:

A: Continue to wait and observe
B: Attempt to boost the sensors (DC 15)

>>>B: Attempt to boost the sensors (DC 15)

You attempt to boost the sensors while keeping a keen eye out for their response.

For a moment, the signal comes through with perfect clarity.

Weyland craft: ...FGJkjfgthe fuck do you mean there's nobody there? Goddamn space leprechauns didn't suddenly vaporize half the goddamn ship.

Frigate: Unable to resolve target.

Weyland craft: Well fucking resolve again. Find the bastard. The goddamn marines probably have a new toy somewhere. And the xenomorphs?

Frigate: Containment failed. Casualties climbing. Warning: Signal interception detected. Executing blackout.

The signal suddenly goes silent.

The weyland crafts suddenly changes their direction. They're all heading towards your location. You have been detected, but you doubt they can accurately triangulate your position.

Do you:

A. Break stealth and gun the engines away from the ships (DC 12)
B. Slowly move towards the frigate, using its thermal signature to camouflage your own (extremely low) emissions. (DC 15)
C. Break cloak and volley-fire to take down two of the craft instantly. (DC 12)

You throttle down and slowly move towards the frigate, hoping to mask yourself behind its thermal cloud.

You are in close proximity to the frigate, when suddenly, you detect the large ship's reactor going unstable. The reactor housing explodes violently and a large jet of plasma flares from the wound. It hits your ship square on the side and the sudden violent EM emission overloads your stealth systems.

You decloak, and find yourself the target of all 5 Weyland crafts.

A split second later, you find a volley of 12 missiles bearing down on you.

Do you:

A: Gun the engines away from the missiles, engage the plasma turrets, and hope for the best. (DC 15)
B. Dive towards one of the boarding pods and crash through into the ship's interior (DC 13)

You switch the engine to performance mode and kick the throttle all the way forward and dive under the frigate's belly. Your plasma turrets lock and track individual missile as they give chase. 5 down. 6. 10. 12. All missiles have been shot down.

But the Weyland crafts are close behind you, and they open fire with their autocannons. A burst of slugs slam into your ablative armor, and you feel the ship shake with each impact.

You glance at your ship readings. The previous weapons fire has put your small reactor dangerously close to draining.

Your stealth systems will be back up in 10 minutes, but you may not last that long. A second volley of this missiles at this range will be much more lethal.

Do you;

A: Shut down your engines and engage the fold space. You'll be vulnerable for a good 30 seconds as it draws power, but you may get away in one piece. (DC: Easy, but will take damage regardless).

B. Turn and dog-fight them. Use your mobility to buy time for your cloak to re-engage. (DC: Medium-hard)

C. Turn and launch a fission torpedo at them, and catch a few of them in the explosion. (Easy-medium).

Haha! I just remembered they blacked out their communications because they caught us jamming their signal! That means for all their HQ knows, their research station blew the fuck up and their team of fighters disappeared after detecting an unknown bogy listening in on their communications.

This really does sound like the opening to a Predator movie.

>>C wins, and the last (third) suggestion is natural 20, so critical success.

As you pass beneath the belly of the frigate, you decide to use one of your torpedoes to slow down your pursuers.

You kill the engine, engage the side thrusters, and swivel yourself 180 degrees to face your pursuers. You open the missile bay with one hand and prepare to launch the torpedo.

Suddenly, the frigate's reactor flares again, and another jet of hot plasma vents outwards. The blast catches the two lead Weyland crafts and vaporizes them. Numerous secondary plasma flashes around the failing reactor turns space into a white, hot fireball.

You are blinded by the light for a brief second, before your cockpit switches on the light filter. But the remaining three Weyland crafts are not so lucky. They tumble past the frigate without direction and are easily destroyed by your plasma turrets.

You wait until the flashes die down.

The Frigate is now in two pieces, with the reactor-side being nothing more than slagged metal. You see several black-beasts floating in space, thrown by the explosion. Some are still moving.

But for now, you are safe.

Do you:

A: Engage stealth systems and remain where you are.
B. Engage fold space and jump to a safe distance.
C. Engage stealth systems and explore the wreckage for clues.

C - the EM output from the exploding reactor, plus our stealth, would mean they wouldn't be able to find us even if they wanted to. Plus, we really need to know what the Weyland Clan were doing with the Hard Meat.
>>
The odds of catching several of them in one nuclear blast is abysmally low. This is space, people. It's big. It's really fucking big. This point-blank dogfight? They're dozens of kilometers apart from each other.

Consider it.

C. Engage stealth systems and explore the wreckage for clues.

>>24353924
>>24353927
I'm not sure we can maintain stealth while firing weapons unfortunately. So long as we keep a close eye one our sensors they should pose no danger anyway. As far as I know they have no way to control their trajectory if they're free-floating in zero G (at least I fucking hope they don't).
>>
>>24353951
>>24353940
We're only on page 3. You don't have to worry about dropping off the board until 700 or so post for high activity threads.
>>
>>24353935
>>C. Engage stealth systems and explore the wreckage for clues.

You engage your stealth systems and begin to probe the wreckage. You are surprised to find power emissions from the still-intact half of the frigate. You also detect multiple. secondary thermal emissions from within. You recognize this to be signs of an ongoing fire fight.

You scan a few specimens of the black-beast in space and your suspicions are confirmed - there is an unsanctioned infestation here. You track the ones which are still alive, and vaporize them with your plasma turrets.

Your sensors detect outbound transmissions from the first half of the frigate towards Fey'lenn. It is a distress signal to inform Weyland command regarding your presence and xenomorph infestation.

Do you:

A. Jam the the signal completely
or
B. Intercept it and alter it using your library of recorded human voices. (Leads to open-ended suggestion)
C: Allow it to transmit as is.
>>
>>24353954
I'll wrap up soon.
>>
>>24353983
>B. Intercept it and alter it using your library of recorded human voices. (Leads to open-ended suggestion)
"Hostile was neutralized, containment is being reestablished. All is well."
>>
>>24353998
seconding this
>>
>>24353998
>>24354001
The frigate is CRACKED IN HALF. We can't convince them that something hasn't gone wrong, we just need them to think that there are no Predators involved. Say it was a reactor containment malfunction, or something.
>>
>>24353998
Wont work they sent 5 ships who will never come back
>>
>>24353998

"Requesting immediate supply of several tons of meat and alcohol to point 13.25.75.36.76, outer orbit. No reason. Sealed containers, please."
>>
>>24354011
its Wey-Yu, they are very gullible, and I dont think they are advanced enough to see whats happening up here without comms from their ships
>>
>>24353983
B

"Hostile Spacecraft destroyed in blast, along with fighter squadron. Xenomorph containment compromised, unlikely to reestablish containment with current forces."

The xenomorph bit is true, and if they're busy freaking out about that they won't question the bit about us being destroyed.
>>
>>24354018
haha, this could actually work, say they have a team landing there in a damaged ship, need resupplies but the will fix the damage and be fine
>>
>>24354011
What about something like
"We experienced a reactor melt down, but the containment breach is under control. No sign of hostile or fighters detected. Please send evac."
>>
Good suggestions - need a second for one of these.
>>
>>24354027
>>24354031
we don't want to give them any info about the situation up here or they will be alerted/try to send help

lets keep them in the dark and think they are safe like >>24353998
>>
>>24354027
I like it. Enough truth to conceal the lies, and short on hard facts to keep them confused.
>>
>>24354037
consider >>24354041 which is me, a second for >>24353998
>>
>>24353998
This sounds good to me.
>>
>>24353998

Nah, they'd find out something was wrong fairly quickly with the ship, which would cast doubt onto us being neutralized.

"Critical damage, Xeno outbreak. Rogue craft, assuming military secret craft, shot two birds down and was vaporized with the other three in plasma jet"
>>
>>24354041
Problem is, the damn ship is cracked in half due to a huge fuck-off explosion and their fighter wing just got obliterated during a combat op. Things are very obviously NOT fine.
>>
>>24354051
why the fuck would you tell them that and alert them, preparing defenses and being on the lookout for us

that is the most stupid thing I've ever seen, consider this veto'd
>>
>not saying "Uh, everything's under control. Situation normal. Uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you? Uh, uh... We had a reactor leak here now. Give us a few minutes to lock it down. Large leak, very dangerous.
>>
>>24354055
They don't know what's going on out here, this is the first long range communication they've sent out.
>>
>>24354055
you underestimate Wey-Yu's capability to ignore everything but their shiny science project, even when everything is one fire and they are doomed
>>
>>24354041
Way too obviously a lie.

Plus, any forces they send to help contain these Xenos are forces we don't have to deal with once we're planetside.

Go with >>24354027
>>
>>24354041
>>24354042
B: "Hostile Spacecraft destroyed in blast, along with fighter squadron. Xenomorph containment compromised, unlikely to reestablish containment with current forces."

You intercept the signal and inject your alterations. Your sensor system flawlessly re-encrypts the message and sends it on its way.

It will be a while before the message reaches the moon and a response is relayed back.

You take the time to relax your muscles and run a thorough diagnostic of your ship. Your rear ablative armor has taken some hits, but aside from that, everything seems to be in order.

You turn your mind to the black-beasts, and wonder what awaits you on Fey'lenn.
