You are Harry James Potter, and you learned three months ago that you are a magus. You've tried learning the basics from your best friend - Illyasviel von Einzbern - but that put you in a coma for most of those three months. You think you'll stick to learning from her father, Kiritsugu, to whom you are apprenticed. Outside of the von Einzberns, you don't really have that many friends. You don't really like most people, and those who do wrong by you and yours you hate with all of your hatred. You've resolved to be a better person than your relatives, and strive to act with compassion towards strangers.

At the present moment, you are blind.

This is a good thing, in your opinion, because this way you don't have to view those horrible visions of blood, death, and entropy. Mrs. Irisviel says that its the bandages that she wrapped around your eyes - something about them being infused with countersight. You had... reacted poorly to the world seen through your Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

A railing had -died-. Sure, from what you've been able to feel, Illya or Mrs. Irisviel had put it back together, but apparently Mr. Shacklebolt's repairing magic didn't work.

Not everything's been going so poorly, though. Mr. Shacklebolt apparently knew your parents, or at least knew of them, and has thoroughly dispelled the lies that your relatives told them about you. They weren't drunken, useless louts that got themselves killed in a car crash - they had been murdered by some sort of wizard gangster calling himself Voldemort.

Today is the big day - Kiritsugu and Kingsley's plan has been set into motion. You'll be going to a place called Diagon Alley later - for now, you're waiting with Illya for the "shit storm" to pass. You hear a bit of a ruckus outside, and there is a polite sounding knock on the door.

You...
>Ask Illya to describe what's going on outside.
>Go get the door for whoever it is. (Roll 3d6)
>See if your nightmare vision has settled down yet.

"Illya," you ask, "What's going on outside?"

"Come on Harry!" she chirps. You hear a sound that you can only presume is here shuffling over at her seat. "Why don't you just take a... looksee... for yourself, right."

You tap you finger against the bandages wrapped around your eyes. You contemplate taking them off for a moment, if only to test the waters and see if your vision has returned to normal, but decide against it. You would much rather have one of the adults around to keep you from flipping out again, if you were going to try that. You do, however, lean up against the window next to Illya.

You sniff the air - there is an acrid scent upon the wind that you can't quite place.

"Illya," you ask, "Is something burning?"

"Yeah. Well, something was burning, anyways," she drums her fingers against the windowsill. "Apparently Ms. Skeeter's article was... inflammatory."

You can almost imagine her slipping on a pair of her father's sunglasses. And then it hits you.

"Wait," you ask, "someone burnt the Dursley's house down?"

"Well, almost," Illya sounds disappointed. "I don't think it was intentional - a couple of jokesters, maybe a bit older than us, came around and set off some fireworks in their yard. Probably only meant to scare them, but their rosebush caught, and well..."

You are...

Hey man, I just advocate acting like a spiteful Ten year old wishing ill things on his tormentors. I am not going full rejoice here, we are ten still.

Actually, only most kids are.
I always wished for harmony and actually felt weird for not being able to hold grudges for long.
I simply can't get myself to wish for destruction. I want to build things. I want to share experiences and keep people in my life so that these experiences never go to waste.
I wouldn't want to kill anyone or anything the like.
The only reason for me to destroy something is in order to defend myself. This also means that Bobby Kotick has to die.
>>
>Put out

We may be assholes, but we have SOME compassion. Even if the Dursleys were jerkwads.
>>
>>24320320

Agreed. After we figure out what all we can do there might come a day when we decide to put the fear into Dursleys for how they treated us, but we're not going to light their house on fire and go run away.

Really, letting their imaginations run wild with what we could do to them might be worse than anything we could do anyway. We could watch them squirm for as long as we wanted without ever really hurting them at all.

Hypothetically.

"Well that's terrible," you say, only partially sarcastic. "I mean, sure, I hate them and want nothing to do with them, but torching their home is just a bit too far." You shake your head. "I mean, defamation, humiliation, public shaming, making their lives generally unpleasant - I could get behind that, but trying to kill them? What the heck did that mosquito write about them?"

You hear Illya intake some air, presumeably to speak. Someone whose voice you don't recognizes beats her to the punch, however.

"Lies and slander, I have no doubt." The man's voice is that of a public speaker - refined, elegant, dignified, and coated with the thinnest sheen of slime that makes you not want to trust a word he says. "Convenient lies and slander, ones that open up a unique opportunity for your return to your heritage, Mr. Potter, but lies and slander nonetheless."

"Who the heck are you," Illya asks. You imagine her glaring at the newcomer, her cheeks puffed out with indignation at the intrusion upon her space. "You look like one of Mama's brother's."

"What a charming girl you have, Mr. von Einzbern..."

You can almost see Mr. Kiritsugu glare at the man with utmost contempt - not that the man would be able to tell. Mr. Kiritsugu's 'I hate you and wish to bring death upon you and yours' expression isn't all that different from his neutral expression. One of his eyebrows twitches just so, his nostrils flare out the tiniest bit, and you know that you're probably doomed to munch on a bullet.

"Harry, Illya," Kiritsugu says, "this is..."

"Please, Kiritsugu - may I call you Kiritsugu? - allow me to introduce myself." He has broken Kiritsugu's first rule - do not interrupt Kiritsugu when he is talking. A rule that only Illya and Iri are allowed to breach. "Mr. Potter, Miss von Einzbern, I am Lucius Malfoy, and I am here to talk about Harry's future."

Maybe I should mention that I was bullied until grade eight. Then they stopped caring.
Sometimes I feel like I might be the second coming of Jesus or something. Mostly because I'm paranoid and feel like there actually *is* a god that is controlling my life. The biggest question is if I'm just seeing the future or actively changing it - I once wished to share a single boat with a certain girl while canoing in school, for example. So I started off in a boat with three guys, got really pissed at them to the point that I attacked grass when we had to carry the boat across land at a certain passage, and then realized that this was probably the way it was supposed to be. So I continued to be angry (or pretended to, anyway), told my teacher that I wanted a different boat... And then almost got assigned to a boat without that girl. Then some coincidence happened and I was there with her and another girl. The other girl was asthmatic and suddenly we had very strong rain. Her inhalator got wet and so she had to go home. So I was alone with the girl in a canoe, just as planned. And we talked a lot because we were both weak and thus slow as fuck. I never went anywhere with her, though.
Hell, 4chan actually restored my trust in humanity. I was slightly misanthropic a few years beforehand, though never to the point of actively hating humans.

...Sage for personal blog.

"My future?" you ask.

You imagine that this Malfoy fellow - whom you can't help but picture as Mrs. Irisviel with Mr. Kiritsugu's face - nods vigorously.

"Yes. There is a faction among the wizarding world who is... concerned about the disappearance of our culture," Malfoy says. "Specifically, that many of the most talented children, through no fault of their own, arrive at Hogwarts completely ignorant of British wizarding customs and traditions. Worse, there are no courses in Hogwarts that teach these children of the legacy they have inherited - they learn only through sublimation, which can only teach so much."

"Sorry," you interrupt, "but, ah, what is Hogwarts."

Malfoy chuckles, in that slimely politician's way.

"You see!" he says. "This is precisely what I mean. That the Boy-Who-Lived, one of the most important figures in modern wizarding history, does not know of the institution of his parent's learning is a tragedy!"

"Wizard school," Illya asks, "Like the..."

She nearly says Clock Tower, but she either catches herself, or Kiritsugu gave her a signal.

"...place that Mama went too? Durmstrang."

"Indeed," Malfoy says. "Durmstrang is a fine institution, though Hogwarts has an older tradition - it was founded by the students of Merlin himself!"

That sounds... promising, actually.

"What I," Malfoy continues, "and the people whom I represent, desire, is to ensure that you - and future wizards raised out of context - arrive at Hogwarts with knowledge of the legacy Gaia has given you to inherit."

You...

I really hated how HP took a turn to the dark and serious grimdderpness.
Because the initial premise was so fucking light-hearted.
Their favourite sport is played by flying on fucking broomsticks. And when Harry gets his arm pulverized, some idiot with a wand accidentally erases his entire skeletton. And yet that's all just a minor nuisance and no one cares about the incompetent fuckwad who did it.
It's a 19th century approach to safety that permeates the entire setting. It made everything funy, slightly tongue-in-cheek.
...And then the plot got serious and all that tongue-in-cheek stuff was supposed to be taken at face value. And it simply doesn't hold up in that regard.

Fuck Rowling.

"Ah..." you start up, "I'm not entirely sure... what, ah..."

You give a pleading look to Kiritsugu, asking him to bail you out. You are, after all, a friggin' ten year old - you shouldn't be having to make these sort of decisions that young! What's next, some Gandalf looking old Wizard comes around to tell you that the fate of the world depends rests upon your slender, child shoulders? No thanks, you'd rather avoid messing things up for hundreds and thousands of people, because you went along with some slimeball's plan.

Kiritsugu catches it, and steps in.

"Mr. Malfoy," he says, "while your desire to educate young Harry in the culture and society of Wizardingkind is most noble, Harry has been going through quite a bit of stress recently. Between the accident with his magic and what it has done to his eyes, Harry isn't quite in the right place to be making any big decisions." He pats you on the shoulder. "Rest assured that we will give your offer due consideration, and that I for one believe it to be the best course of action."

There is a small pause - Malfoy may have been put out, or something along those lines. Then, someone claps their hands.

"Wonderful!" Malfoy says. "I shall be sure to stay in touch. I don't suppose you and your family will be visiting Diagon Alley anytime soon, will you?"

"This afternoon, actually." Kiritsugu's voice holds a belied threat.

"Excellent, excellent! I'll ask Mr. Blott to lay away a few books for your perusal..." He probably bows, or at least that's what you imagine. "Good day to you, then!"

There is a pop, which you know mean's he's apparated away.

You...

>>24321624
>Gryffindor is for COURAGE

That's how it should go, in theory, but in reality you get geniuses like Hermione in Gryffindor, moeblobs like Luna in Ravenclaw, ubermensch like Cedric in Hufflepuff, and dumbfucks like Crabbe and Goyle in Slytherin.

People hate Gryffindor because they're jocks and most of the rest of us are nerds.
>>
Hufflepuff or Gryffindor.

Ravenclaw has a protag.

Slytherin has too much bad blood in it. Harry's not going to be able to offset so much history, and looking at it Kiritsugu probably wouldn't be fond of the PTA nights either
>>
Go to Hufflepuff.

Nobody expects anything from anyone in Hufflepuff.

This is totally not a playtest for a Nasuverse system I'm building. You are totally not my guinea pigs in this regard. Attributes and Skills are not rated from E (1) to EX+ (12), and adding the relevant stat to its skills does not give you a target number to roll under with 3d6.

>>
>>24321857
Yeah but I think almost everyone has E rank academics at age of 10. Hermione probably has D, possibly C. It represents how much we've been taught, not out aptitude for it (I think).
>>
>>24321860
F is a special Rank that can't be an attribute, and cannot be bought down to. It exists only for Untrained skills when they need to be noted, or Circuit Quantity and Quality if you're not a magus.
>>
>>24321826
He could be Puff, seeing how he is compassionate and spiteful. Sounds like someone who is loyal, and will fuck with anyone who fucks with his friends.

Ofcourse, that could be Slytherin too. Just because your loyal to your friends, doesn't mean you are honest.

>>
>>24321850
Ah, so how would that work as an example with Academics (Mundane) and INT? Do you add 9 to your INT score (9 + 8) or is it something else?

Also I never thought Harry was that spiteful.
>>
>>24321899
I always thought Lily's eyes caused him to hate Harry; after all, every time he sees them he's reminded of the girl he loved who ditched him cause he insulted her, and then later on the girl he loved who married another man and who he indirectly killed.
>>
>>24321969
We chose to pick spiteful as one of our character traits earlier on. I believe it was in the first thread.
>>
>>24321971
In Snape's flashback, Dumbledore manages to convince Snape to continue helping him after Lily is killed by telling him Harry has Lily's eyes.
>>
>>24321969

Your Academics (Mundane) rank is E+, which is a 2. Your intelligence is a B+, which is an 8. You add these together to get the target number for those checks, which is 10.

>>24322025
>[10] Academics (Mundane) [INT] - E+
>[9] Academics (Magecraft) [INT] - E
Ahem
>>
>>24322000
Yes but it also makes him hate Harry when he actually sees him. He constantly sees the woman he loved looking out of the face of the man he hated.
>>
>>24321923

I'd certainly love to join any not-games that won't-happen in the future not-bearing the not-fruit of this not-test.
>>
>>24322000
I remember that, but I still believed that it would be more of an irritant then a helpful cause; imagine the women you love marries someone else, you get them both killed, and then 11 years later some kid shows up who has no idea what he's supposed to do, succeeds anyway, and looks like your love.

Keep in mind that Lily is, afaik, brilliant. As in, top five witches in HW brilliant, and capable of constructing some type of blood-oriented defense that can block the attack of an incredibly powerful dark lord. Does this sound like Harry did?
>>
>>24322058
you and 90% of this thread
>>
>>24322042
E+ is Better than E.
E is a 1. 1+8=9 (Target Number for Magecraft)
E+ is a 2. 2+8=10 (target Number for Mundane)

I put the target numbers first for convenience.
>>
Slytherin is cunning. We've demonstrated with fairly well in our Dursley interactions, and our dislike of humanity fits fairly well.

Gryffindor values bravery. We're not cowards (see Werewolf), but we're not really the "charge in blindly" type (also see Werewolf). We're too pragmatic for that.

Ravenclaw: We certainly seem knowledge-hungry. We've signed ourselves for a Training Hell apprenticeship for the sake of learning magecraft: That seems to support this is as a house. Unfortunately, it's presently occupied by another quest's protagonist.

Hufflepuff: We're extremely loyal to Kiritsugu and the rest of the Einzberns, and loyalty is the primary Hufflepuff trait. On the other hand, we don't fit the house otherwise: Hufflepuffs are generally kind and respectful of authority. We'll probably be cutting lines on members of the Ministry before this is over.

I think Slytherin is the best match, after Ravenclaw. We can begin reforms there, if possible. If not, we can simply terrify them all into submission.

Kiritsugu rubs your hair. "Harry, you're ten. And he's a politician. The entire point was for you to not know what you were doing, so he could exploit you."

"Yeah, but what was that all about?" you ask. "Why me? Why not some other mage raised among mundanes?"

"Probably because of who you are." His hand lifts from your head. "Kingsley lent me a book the other day about wizarding history. Apparently, when the last major Dark Lord tried to kill you with his Murder spell, you bounced it right back at him." There is a pause in which you imagine him frowning. "Not that anyone knows how. Or was there to see it in the first place..."

"So that man," Illya spits, "was here because he wanted Harry to do what he wanted?"

"No," Kiritsugu responseds succinctly. "He was testing me. And I think I've shown him who I want to show him - letting you act mostly independent of me, but intervening to show that I'm not going to let you be taken advantage of. That I agreed with his ideas should help in that regard."

He sighs. "Bloody politics means I've got to keep him friendly until the paperwork goes through."

"I see," you lie, "And speaking of sight, I wonder if mine's back to normal..."

[MYSTIC EYE LORE SKILL RATING: E]
[LUCK SKILL RATING: B]
[PARAMETERS: LOWEST OF FIRST FIVE]
[TARGET NUMBER: 8 | ROLLED 5]
[SUCCESS | PARTIAL CRITICAL!]

You see everything in the room that is fated to die.

The wall falls down, collapsing into dust and sand. The ceiling would have crushed you, but it too crumbles, raining dried up plaster and rotten wood chips. The pictures in the frames wither and die, the smiling faces of Kiritsugu and Irisviel standing with a blonde man and woman brown and fall into ash. The foundation of the house cracks, erosion taking its toll upon concrete.

The vase in which Irisviel keeps flowers falls to the ground as Heracles runs joyfully into the room, jumping ontop of Illya and licking at her face, trailing mud accross the hardwood. You turn to them, and all you see is the smiling image of a girl and her big, friendly dog.

No death.

You blink.

That last one was real! Not a figment.

You rejoice with this knowledge, and begin laughing. Kiritsugu and Illya exchange looks, and turn to you, concerned.

"Harry, are you okay?" Illya asks.

You turn to her. You see the lines, and you can even see the faint traces of what lies beyond them, but only if you concentrate hard upon them. They are there, and they are disturbing, but things do not fall apart - they remain intact.

You...

How and why does Harry Potter have Shiki's eyes?

>>24323342
All of this has one answer:
Avenger never happened in the third.
>>
>>24323342
read the threads. duh.
Most of that is because the war went differently. No avenger in the third means no corrupt grail, Kerry wishes for his family instead of peace, and everything is generally brighter.

Shirou is presumably still mundane with his old folks in japan, not that it matters since we're in Britain
>>
>>24323342
Angry Manjew was never summoned in the third war, thus the Grail was never corrupted. Bro-tier prototype Gil was summoned instead of normal dickbag Gil and had hot steamy sex with Arturia, Kerry won the war and presumably wished to have his family back. Thus, no horrible fire so Shirou is still living a normal life with his birth parents, having never met Kerry.

As for the eyes, we had a choice of several options when determining our Origin. We chose DEATH.
>>
>>24323338

Yes but on the fouth roll up untilll now OP has been taking the first three only.

Are we just that pityful.
>>
>>24323342
The grail isn't corrupt in this universe, so the Gilgamesh who got summoned is Fate/prototype Archer who is almost as bro tier as Iskander. This probably mean Kotomine never got turned full yuetsu because evil Gil wasn't going on at him.

Also Saber and Gilgamesh spent the night before their final duel breaking a bed to splinters.

It's likely that Kiritsugu decided to wish to have Iri back.
>>
>>24323342
Basically, Avenger was never summoned so the Grail was never corrupted. Kerry "won" the Fourth War and let Saber make her wish, which was apparently to redo her life by ruling openly as a woman rather than pretend to be a man, which apparently set up a chain of events to create Potterverse parallel to Nasuverse.
>>
>>24323342
Just what do you think Kerry wished for? Magic, I ain't gotta explain shit.

Grail was also untainted, Angry Manjew never got summoned period, so the Gil that got summoned in the 4th was more in line with how he ended his life after hanging with Enkidu. That dude, he really mellowed him out. Thus, Kotomine never learned how to REJOICE! Or if he did, he learnt a small amount of it and not the full on version he really is. Also, Kerry is damn sure he managed to score with Saber, who changed history to match the Saber Lilly timeline of events. So she got happy end too. This would also explain the Merlin connection as when things go differently, you get a different future.

Harry's origin is death. MEoDP is actually quite logical given that origin.

No idea with Shirou. 4th war had happy ending, so his parents and all the other orphans are still very much alive. He isn't a concern as of yet. If we ever go to the clock tower there is a small chance of meeting him though. I assume he still gets bitches without trying after reading that Magical Girl Illya manga.

I spoonfeed, but oh well, I love exposition.

>>
>>24323368
That has already been given earlier in the thread. That just starts with the beginning of the quest. None of the mechanics behind it, nor the alterations to either universe are explained.

>>24323379
That's a pretty hilariously massive change, given that it changes absolutely everything about F/Z and F/SN. Who won the third war then? What dirty trick did the Einzbern's do? Why did they decide to bring in Kiritsugu? If Kerry did win, why wasn't his wish granted? If it was granted, why is the world the same? How is Kotomine still alive? Why is Kerry worried about Ilya being a Grail if he already won?

>>
>>24323617

Well he's still the magus killer. He still executes heretical mages for money. But when given the choice between truly fulfilling his ideal while losing his family, or to keep striving for them with his family, he chose the latter.

The Grail War also apparently went down in a pretty Noblebright manner, that could have changed his character to the point of valuing his family more than the fulfillment of his ideal.
>>
>>24323735
I'm all for character development, but hamfisted attempts to cram every element of a universe together in fanfiction are stupid as hell. They destroy the integrity of the characters, rendering the point moot. This isn't a story about Harry Potter thrust into the Nasuverse, it's a story about an amalgamation of Shirou/Harry/Shiki meeting people named after characters from F/SN.

The funny thing is that the Harry we're roleplaying is nothing like either Shiki OR Shirou. Harry (as we're playing him) has consistently appealed to authority figures around him and relied on other people without any feeling of guilt, whereas Shiki is basically the opposite of all of that and Shirou is a braindamaged nutcase that would have been dressing up like Kerry by now.
This Harry isn't exactly the Harry from the books, but he's sure as fuck not anything like a Nasu protag.

Death Eaters are weak dumbasses. What we need to worry about is dementors. They literally feed on trauma, and are now in a universe with Nasu protags

MEoDP will still work even on "Immortal" creatures, provided they still have a theoretical "death" that you could cause. There is no real defense. Best defense is actually be like Kerry or Shirou (i.e. Possess "The Mind of Steel"). Obsession or fanatical belief are about the only things that'll keep you from flat out killing yourself once they REALLY start to chow down. Kerry found a way out of the Cursed grail because of his ideal, drowned in all the evils of the world, his ideal kept him sane enough to make a decision.

Getting munched on by a dementor is like that. You just can't feel or even really remember anything that has a positive emotion connected to it. They eat your joy, your happiness, your any pleasant sounding emotion. Leaving you as naught but a pile of pure despair. Canon Kotomine would certainly REJOICE! to it.

"Alright, alright..." you pet Heracles. "If that's how you want to play..."

You bring your arm around the big fellow's neck, and attempt to use what meager leverage you can muster to turn the tables on Illya's dog. Careful not to touch any of the lines crawling about the overgrown puppy's fur, you do one of the reverse holds that Kiritsugu taught you. You muster forth just enough force to send Heracles and yourself into a barrel roll around the floor.

Too much, in fact. You're right back where you started.

Illya giggles. You pout.

"You kids have fun," Kiritsugu says, shaking his head. "Iri and I will come get you when it's time to leave."

Its about an hour after Illya joins the rough housing with a tackle-hug to Heracles that Irisviel comes around to tell you that it's time to go. You don't take Kiri's Beamer, or even the fixed up old Chevy he keeps for discretionary work. Instead, the four of you are picked up by Mr. Shacklebolt and several dangerous looking fellows in the most ridiculous clothes you've ever seen. The cars they brought are nondescript, and seem to be bigger on the inside than they are on the outside.

It's a half hour drive to this rickety old pub called the Leaky Cauldron. Kingsley shows the three of you in; you and Illya get in fine, but Kiri seems conflicted and almost angry at the pub, and has to keep Iri from turning back at the entrance.

Once inside, you...

Everyone's eyes are on you as you enter the pup. The weight of their gaze pushes down upon you, strengthened by the lines that dance across their bodies. Morbid glimpses into the myriad ways they could perish give the stares a malevolence that is just beginning to freak you the fuck out. But now is not the time for you to lose your cool - not on your first day outside of the von Einzbern's place since your coma. So you do what comes naturally.

You grab Illya's hand, and try to make yourself as small as possible. Many of the patrons d'awww, before going back to their drinks.

You look towards Kiritsugu, who is nearly as fidgety in the place as you are, though he shows it a lot differently. His eyes dart about the pub, searching for possible escape routes, his hands twitch towards his holsters, wanting to arm themselves with one of the guns that he slipped by Kingsley. He's holding Irisviel rather closely, as if ready to push her towards safety at a moment's notice.

"Mr. Kiritsugu, what's wrong?" you whisper, as Kingsley talks to the bartender.

"Harry, I have a test for you," he responds, his voice flatter than normal. "As my apprentice, you need to learn my skills, the most crucial of which is observation. If you are unaware of what your enemies are doing, you can not counter it." He takes a short breath. "Now, tell me. How many wands, mystic codes, or other weapons do you see within this room."

[DISCERNMENT SKILL RATING - F]
[INTELLIGENCE RATING: B+]
[TARGET NUMBER: 8 | ROLL: 7]
[SUCCESS!]

"Uh..." you say, your eyes darting around the room. Most people at the bar seem to have a wand in their back pocket - some small amount have two. There were... you count it out... forty seven people in he restaurant and the pub, some of them were bound to have two... you can't see all of them though...

"Everyone's armed..." you say, telling him the one thing that you know that is true. "And some people have two wands on them. I can only count three, at the bar, but I can't get a good enough view at anyone in the restaurant."

Kiritsugu nods.

"And that's what's wrong," he mutters. "This many magi together in one place, everyone would be at eachother's throats to steal their knowledge." He pauses for a moment. "And you should start paying attention to the way that people are standing - if you look at them properly, you'll be able to see the shift's in stance that show that people are hiding weapons. There are 63 wands in this room, and 15 knives."

[SKILL UP: DISCERNMENT SKILL RATING - E+]

After Kingsley finishes talking with the barman - Tom, his name was - you are taken out to the back. Kingsley taps on one of the bricks, and they seem to fold, much in the way that Illya's alchemy recreated the wall back at the hospital. An archway is formed, giving you a view into a crammed, brightly colored street. Lines dance over everything, even the air.

Kingsley takes you to...

If we have the canon amount of PotterDosh, we are going to go fucking WILD with Mystic Codes. Sure it'll be expensive, but we could probably recoup some of the expenses by selling our shitty prototypes at Hogwarts, since Potter mages don't seem too great at creating custom Mystic Codes.

And yes, we will partner up with the twins if we can. The sheer amount of GENIUS those guys had. Our partnership, it will go far.

That's exactly the point. Don't want to rely on the dotstab too much though. They trace it back to us they'll make us pay em' back for the damages. Harry might be loaded, but it's just like having like a billion bucks. It's a lot of money to be sure, but you'd be surprised how quickly you can spend it all...

Also, I'm pretty sure we can kill the ghosts. Gotta be careful not to do that.

Oh god this question is going to be eating at me until we see one.
Can you kill that which has already died?

Oh, and who wants to bet that all the ghosts fucking LOVE us because we've got Death as our origin. Can you say "school-wide ghost spy network"?
>>
>>24326110
Binns is already dead. He is literally a ghost teaching history, but only the same bits over and over
>>
>>24326147
Yes, because MEoDP will kill the "concept" of being a ghost. They'll just completely disappear.
>>
>>24326172
The ghosts still had things they treasured and did. We fuck with that. If he really pisses us off we inform him of the presence of that dot on his body, and what will happen if we "accidentally" stab it. Put the fear of death back into something that's already dead! Now that's getting philosophical.
>>
>>24325969
>>24325989
As much as I love the idea of Harry making and selling magitek to the students of Hogwarts, I'm pretty sure that the entire campus of Hogwarts is so heavily enchanted it fucks with electronics-based technology.

>implying we won't come up with a spell that lets us communicate telepathically.
>>
>>24326232
When I say "SCIENCE" I don't necessarily mean technology. That was more a reference to the way a Magus learns magic and creates new spells through experimentation, rather than rote memorization of an incantation and letting a wand do all the work.

Stuff like prana generators, mystic codes, wand-less magic (which most Wizards are utterly incapable of), things like that.
>>
>>24326316
Extremely useful. We will give Hogwarts the gift of technology! And we do want to keep in touch with the Magus Killer. We are his apprentice.

If we can get an un-fucked smartphone or computer with a satellite internet connection up and running we could set aside an hour every night to keep learning his wisdom. With the shit Harry is likely to face if he does go to Hogwarts it'd be nice to have a few of his lessons in the back of our heads. Could save our sorry lives.

>>24326381
That is what I mean as well. SCIENCE is about the method, not the results of the method.

MEoDP kills concepts. Kill the concept of "being a ghost" and you kill the ghost, as it cannot exist without that concept.

>>
>>24326679

We might need to level up our eyes a little first. Speaking of our eyes holy shit are we taking an enormous risk going anywhere without sealing them first, one little slip and someone dies.
>>
>>24326782
Paradox depends on how many people see you do it from my understanding. If a tree falls in the woods and nobody's around does it make a sound?

Technically yes, but also no. For sound implies that someone was there to hear it. So did it really make a sound?

If you kill gravity and nobody's around to see that happen you're off the hook. If someone does see it though, even just one guy because of how fucking impossible it is to kill gravity in the minds of most people, prepare to get fucked.

>>24326841
We'd also lose atmo, BTW. Gravity is the reason all that air is still around. Kill it, and we're in fucking space. Without a spacesuit. Not a good position to be in.
>>
>>24326829
Again, technically, it is possible. The eyes would likely have to be EX level to manage that though. Also, why the hell do you want to kill Gaia? Her stopping shit from killing all humans is a good thing! And who knows what bad shit might happen if she dies...
>>
>>24326964

>>
>>24327005
Gaia has a split personality. It gets complicated.
>>
>>24326964
>Her stopping shit from killing all humans is a good thing!

Actually, thats Alaya. Gaia does not like humans, to the point that she spawned PRIMATE MURDER, a being with the absolute power to kill humans which takes SEVEN Counter Guardians to restrain, for the sole purpose of fucking up our day.

Gaia is also responsible for the Dead Apostles, because she made a deal with Crimson Moon to let him live on earth in exchange for the True Ancestors helping protect the world from the humans fucking everything up.

Gaia is not a nice lady. Shame she's also the planet we live on, or I'd be all for murdering her.

>>
>>24327491
Its easier to work out ages by going backwards from Fate/Stay Night. Illya was about 18-19 in Fate (despite her appearance) so Rin would be ~7 years younger than she is in the game.
>>
>>24327515
This.

If we were going by the canon Harry Potter timeline, it'd be something like 1989 or 1990 now. The 4th war wouldn't have even happened yet.
>>
>>24327342
Also they have wacky ammo types and most of the newer AK pattern guns are really cool and pretty reliable. for instance the AK-107 recoil system
>>
Something just occurred to me:

Nasu magic (Magecraft) plays pretty nice with technology. Hell, you can use the two side-by-side to great effect if you're not a stick in the mud old-school magus.

Potter Magic (Wizardry) does NOT play nice with technology, to the point that tech just starts derping out if in a high-magic environment like Hogwarts.

I wonder if this just has to do with the beliefs of the practitioners involved (Magi regarding magic as a form of science, while Wizards regard magic as... magic.), or if there is something deeper there.

Might be something to look into when our intrepid hero is a bit older, or during a future Kerry interlude.
>>
>>24327574
I just want Origin Shotgun ammo and an AA-12 to go with it. Imagine, machine gunning a spread of pure DEATH! Anything within 10 meters is totally fucked, period. We don't even have to be good at aiming to win with that setup. Won't have that option for many things, you can only get so many origin shots after all, but it is damn comforting to know it's there.

>>24327546

Why would she be? You go to hogwarts when you're 11, and if Shirous real family isn't magi she probably doesn't pay attention to him

How would Shirou know how to do the Caladbolg Broken Phantasm thing without having met Gilgamesh (who wouldn't attack him with Gate of Babylon here even if they DID meet) or Archer (who can't be summoned here period due to there being no incentive to break the rules)?

>>
>>24327868
If Shirou was never adopted by Kerry its unlikely he would ever develop as a magus in the first place, and he CERTAINLY wouldn't obtain UBW unless some other tragedy happened that made him want to go full HERO (and even then he wouldn't figure it out until later in life, due to not have HS EMIYA to cheat off of). Its doubtful his original family were practicing magi, since the Tohsaka would know about a mage family living in their city.

Also, if Kotomine has learned how to REJOICE in this timeline he's almost certainly a Death Eater himself. One of the top ones, again, Vold knows a bro when he sees one.

>>24327950
But do we know that? For all we know they were, but when you get doused in Angry Manjew juice there isn't much you can do if you're anything close to a "normal" person, magus or not.

>>24327974
No, he doesn't. If his original origin was close enough to "sword" it'd still work. Hell, he might have it already. He's essentially a blank slate in this timeline. We have no idea who he is, what his origin is, or what his history is. He simply has the potential to be the EMIYA we all know and love.
>>
>>24327974
>AA-12 doesn't exist yet
Yes it does. The Atchisson Assault Shotgun was first designed in 1972. The current FORM of the AA-12 is more recent.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atchisson_Assault_Shotgun
Personally though, I favor the Daewoo Precision Industries USAS-12. It's pretty much a production version of Atchisson's original design, and can be disassembled and maintained by the end user easily, unlike the current AA-12.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USAS-12
>>
>>24327912
Also, Rin didn't break the rules. She unwittingly created a catalyst. That gem saved the future EMIYA from certain death. She had it on her when she summoned her servant. So boom, she summons the servant with a connection to her new catalyst that she never knew she had. It all makes sense in the end, no rules were broken. Unless "not knowing who exactly you're going to summon" is breaking the rules.
>>
>>24328015
>kotomine is a death eater
well shit that comment earlier of him riding on a chariot of dementors isn't as so farfetched as i originally thought.
>>
>>24328081
Rin didn't break the rules. ARCHER did.

He is -not- a Hero. He does -not- exist in the Throne of Heroes. He should -not- be summonable. He is a Counter Guardian, an unstoppable assassin for the Will of Humanity. Which is something incredibly different.

The only reason he was summonable was because he broke the rules in order to kill himself. His desire to die was so strong that he was able to be summoned as a Servant...but without Shirou Emiya existing, there's no reason for him to be summoned. His desire to kill himself can find no outlet in this world.

Now that I think about it, he couldn't hang with them. He is their natural enemy.

Think about it. They eat his joy, causing him to despair. Despair causes him to REJOICE! Even if it is his own despair he's rejoicing off of. They eat and eat and eat but they just can't take away this infinite joy he's getting from his own despair. They eat until they explode and he just gets up and walks off like a boss. Wondering what the hell just happened...

If he ever walks through Azkaban we'll have a mushroom cloud on our hands. He'll REJOICE so hard...

No, it was exposure to Avalon that corrupted his Origin to "sword." This is given symbolic significance in UBW

>He is -not- a Hero. He does -not- exist in the Throne of Heroes. He should -not- be summonable.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Counter Guardians are a type of Heroic Spirits. Specifically, they are Heroic Spirits whose deeds were only possible because they cut a deal with Alaya for the power they needed to BE heroes, in exchange for being Counter Guardians after death.

Learn something every day. I stand corrected.

Regardless, he is not a Hero, and is not a part of the Throne of Heroes. He's a part of the Counter Force, which is completely seperate to the Throne. He COULD become part of the Throne if his legend became known and revered, but there's no way we could affect that in any way because the circumstances that led to him becoming a Counter Guardian are impossible in this universe.
>>
>>24328154
>He is a Counter Guardian, an unstoppable assassin for the Will of Humanity. Which is something incredibly different.

Not ENTIRELY accurate. Counter Guardians are defined as a special form of Heroic Spirit.

Now with a pure Grail he most certainly could NEVER be summoned, since it ONLY summons Heroic Spirits from the Throne of Heroes. But once the Grail got corrupted it went of the fritz and started summoning everything from Anti-Heroes to Counter Guardians to a fucking Fictional Hero.

He didn't so much break the rules as he exploited the fact that the Grail was completely borked to begin with.
>>
>>24328159
he would literally ascend beyond a dark lord because of the infinite REJOICE! he would be having.
god damn.

in somewhat related news, i wonder if kireitsugu will end up as an auror for the ministry of magic to help cover his apprentices ass and be a doublecrossing spy for old man acht and the clock tower?
>>
>>24328154
He does technically. You make a deal with Gaia, you're in the throne. The whole point of being in the throne is that you somehow changed fate. In making that deal, you do so. EMIYA saved hundreds by making that deal. He didn't know what that deal entailed but he did it. So he's in the throne.

>>24328187
I never heard what his original origin was. Again, blank slate. If it's something like "Steel" or "Sharp" it'd be close enough to "Sword" to count in my book. Swords, they're made of steel, they are sharp, so a reality marble involving them isn't too farfetched. Think man, it does a brain good. Though if you *really* think you likely will not like what you see...

>>24328254
But in a real sense he WAS a hero. Time is nothing for the throne. His dream, his desire was pure. At worst you'd get an EMIYA that wasn't so damn cynical. He'd believe in his ideals and would never violate them. That man, at some point, only wanted to save others. He didn't off innocents, he used his powers for the good of all. Like Saber Lilly. She's in there, and thus, so is he.

>He does technically. You make a deal with Gaia, you're in the throne.
No you're not. You make a deal with Gaia and you get into the Counter Force.

You only get into the Throne if you become a LEGEND. Archer by no definition met the requirements for the Throne. He was a fake hero who got into what one could see as a fake Throne of Heroes.

Someone needs to reread UBW.
>>
>>24328300
The main difference between a normal Heroic Spirit and a Counter Guardian is the how they reach the Throne. A proper Hero gets there by saying FUCK DESTINY I DO WHAT I WANT. A Counter Guardian gets there by selling their soul to Alaya in exchange for power. This means that Guardians can't usually do normal Heroic Spirit stuff, like participating in Grail Wars, because Alaya doesn't give a single flying fuck about the Grail beyond maybe deploying a Guardian at the end to gank the winner if the wish is something that would fuck humanity.
>>
>>24328368
Who said his tale wasn't known and was told to people of the future? "Here was a man who above all else believed in his ideals, and through them, was driven into despair" He could have become a legend, even in the "modern" era.

People like "Odysseus" and "Achilles" are part of it. Why can't he be?
>>
>>24328476
Because if he was, he would not be a Counter Guardian.
>>
>>24326621
>>24326653
so we can kill Dementor too?
or would they just be like "sup bro?"
>>
>>24328476
Because when you sell your soul to Alaya, you don't get to be a Heroic Spirit, you get to be a Counter Guardian, which is LIKE a Spirit but Alaya runs your shit and if you don't like it too fucking bad.
>>
>>24328533
He could kill a Dementor. They're nowhere near the level required to be unkillable by the Eyes (Which is Arcueid Brunestud during the night, most likely the single most powerful existence on the planet)
>>
>>24328533
Probably not right now, but once we level up our MEoDP a bit we probably could.
>>
>>24328533
We can kill the concept of their existence. So we can kill them, if our eyes are of the appropriate level that is. They are most basic at the moment so for now I doubt we can right now, but later, later we can kill them so hard they die to death.
>>
>>24328555
No. It IS a Heroic Spirit, albeit one that's Alaya's bitch.

Did professor chaos die?

Well, lets do a proper defining here.

'Heroic Spirits' and 'Counter Guardians' are both types of Heroic Spirits, but they're two different things.

Heroes are kept static in the Throne. Whenever they are summoned, it is a copy formed from the data stored in the Throne. Thus, they do not carry over memories from incarnation to incarnation. This type of Heroic Spirit is what most people are referring to as 'Heroic Spirit' in this thread.

Counter Guardians, on the other hand, DO carry memories over from incarnation to incarnation, as EMIYA proves. If the Counter Force was the Throne of Heroes, EMIYA would not have fallen into despair and tried to kill himself. Hence, why the Counter Guardians existence as part of the Throne is debatable since the operating method for the Throne and the Counter Force is so different.

I hope not, I want that last update he promised. Also, I'm really starting to get into this quest, would hate to see the OP die so long before its conclusion.
