Alright. Let's give it a whirl. The explosions are probably going to be lethal or very punishing to prevent rapid picking up of goblins, but using the hints correctly should help tip things in our favor.

You give a quick nod causing the goblin to perform some weird dance involving far more hip thrusting than you feel you are totally comfortable with. "Come on out then-gob!" He shouts causing to goblins to appear behind him in a puff of smoke.

One is dressed like a corny movie vampire complete with plastic fangs. "I vant to suck your blood-gob!" He shouts before taking off his cheap cape and throwing it at the ground.

The other is dressed like one of those street fighter characters with the cut off gi and headband. He does a quick martial arts routine before flexing. "You'll never find me-gob! If you are gunna play, play to win-gob!" He shouts.

After a second in which you manage to get a good look at them you are transported to a field filled with goblins running around at high speed. This could be a challenge.

Whoops, forgot to post the rest. First the Count, then Gob. Hard Gayblin is clearly final boss material.

You tell the others to fan out and to keep their eyes open for any strange behavior from the goblins and to shout out when you find them and you will corner them. You spend half a minute chasing who you think is gob lee, sadly he turned out to only be his stunt double.

You hear a shout from Luna that she has him and when you approach you see that she has cut open her neck to draw him out. The three of you dive tackle him into the ground. He curses the name of Gob Hellsing before vanishing.

You pause on a rock formation while looking for Gob Lee. You think back to how the vampire goblin was captured and decide to set a trap. You set up some rocks with some wood you find laying in the field and wait. After a minute of waiting you see the goblin run up and start karate chopping all the boards. You let out a shout and the three of you manage to tackle him to the ground. "Truly the most dangerous game-gob" he lets out a cry as he vanishes leaving you with one left.

The three of your search high and lo for Hard Gayblin but with little luck. Deciding to gamble it all you write down some quick words and hand them to shimabuku to shout out. He looks a bit uneasy but shrugs and goes with it.

"Wow, I am all sweaty and hot. I wish there were some manly goblin to come and hold me close!" He shouts.

The three of you wait, then suddenly one of the goblins stop in front of you three with a nose bleed. You quickly grab him.

"That as dirty-gob! Trampling all over my pure feelings-gob! Take your prize-gob! Take is and keep your manly visage from showing it's face to me again-gob!" he shouts before handing each of you a golden ring with a goblin face on it.

GOLD GOBLIN RING GET: 50% elemental resistance, coo ldown speed and mana cost reduced by half!*****

You are then warped back to the Mac Anu gate room.

The tow of you make your way to the town square where you sit on the edge of the fountain and talk about every random thing which crosses your mind. You spend a good half and hour just enjoying each others company when you decide to ask.

Such as going there will send you into a coma if certain conditions are met, or that there are secret passages in there that no one can see. I even remember hearing something about black sports showing up there, though I can not recall the entirety of the message."

"So where are these lost grounds, how many are there?" You ask, trying not to seem overly curious.

"You two want to go explore a lost ground with me?" You ask to which Durandal nods.

"Hey, what's a lost ground?" Durga asks.

"It is like... a unique area with special properties, no monsters. I heard some of the rumors about black dots center around them so I figured it might be fun." you explain making Durga furrow her brow

"The ones that send people into comas? You sure that's safe?" Durga asks while glancing back at Durandal.

You approach the lake and look inside and see that it is filled with giant crystals of some kind, which turn the black lake into a reflection of a nonexistent night sky, with the large tree at the center the moon.

She glares at you for a few seconds before registering you at the counter. You have a hard time dealing with this woman.

After about a minute the girl working the desk bows. "Thank you, Team 48 has been registered successfully. Thank you, your match will begin shortly. Please enjoy the exclusive ring side competitor's seats while you wait."

"Team 48? You couldn't come up with a better team name than that?" Durga asks, causing Lotus' glare to focus on her.

It seems the staring match will last until Durga leaves, but luckily someone breaks the mood. "Ah ha! So you have finally showed up, eh Chen?" You turn to the source of the rough masculine voice and see Shimabuku standing there all smiles. "I was waiting for you to show up. I managed to defeat one of the rankers this morning when I was just playing around and so I decided to play too. Ha ha! Don't expect me to go easy on you just because we're buds, life isn't that easy!" He laughs causing lotus to let out a sigh and walk towards the spectator's box.

You decide sitting next to Shimabuku would probably be more comfortable, even if he is technically an enemy. The pair of you sit down while waiting for the first match to begin and begin making small talk. "Hey, any advice you can give me about battle strategies or what ever?"

"Asking an enemy for help! Ha ha! Pretty cheeky! I just say do your best!" He smiles.

"Well, my current strategy is to just yell 'I have a penis' and hit them really hard. It seems to work thus far. Ah, hey, who are you teaming with? Wouldn't happen to be anyone I know would it?" You prod making him shake his head.

You hear the announcer shout out that the tournament is about to begin and you look over to see a large black man in roller skates doing the announcing.

"In this corner, fighting in the name of the guild 'NAOO-knights', Thhhhheeeeee ANGEL KISSES!" He shouts, performing some sort of funky dance while three knight looking players jump down.

"And in this corner, the PK sadist from hell, the silent Bloody Mary of the battlefield, heeeeeerrrrreeeees MANIA!" He shouts and a woman with long cyan hair and thigh high boots steps down onto the arena. She silently looks around the stands then locks eyes with you for a few seconds before looking at the NAOO-Knights.

You decide to throw away your meager money on a bet, 334gp on mania to win the round. At odds 50:1 you have a feeling you will enjoy some good winnings. You politely excuse yourself from Shimabuku and wish him well in his match, then go to talk to Lotus.

"Ah, hey, Lotus. That Mania gives me a bad feeling. How should I put it, like maybe the same thing is wrong with her that might be wrong with the champion." She stares at you for a few seconds before replying.

"How do you know?"

"It is just a feeling." You reply causing her to nod her head slightly before looking back at the arena

"Maybe we could talk strategy?" You ask causing her to look straight at you again. She seems to consider this for a few moments before nodding once more

"After the match." She informs you to which you just shrug.

You look down at the arena and notice Mania is staring at you again. Even after the bell rings and the NAOO-Knights get in position to surround her. As they charge she finally turns her head to look at them and, somehow, slips out of their formation. She stands calmly by the sidelines and glances back your way while the three are left wondering how she slipped out of their formation.

The lead of the team, the blue haired guy to remember from earlier, finally decides to try and take her down in one shot. He jumps in the air above her and tries to perform a double handed swing at her skull. This time she doesn't even bother looking at him as she grabs his sword mid-swing and stops it there.

"You can't get me off." She calmly tells the blue furred man before pulling him down to the ground and punching through his stomach.

The other two seem somewhat apprehensive, but in an instant she is standing behind them. They pull out their weapons in order to try and turn and defend themselves, but suddenly her first explode out through their chests. They let out small mewling sounds before she pulls her hands out and lets them fall to the ground.

You bet your winnings on Shimabuku and smack him on the back. "Good luck, do what ever you can to win." Causing him to give you a thumbs up.

"If it comes down to it, I will just use your ace in the hole!" He smiles making you tilt your head. You had such a thing?

You sit down next to Lotus and wait for the match to begin. "So how exactly do you want to do this?" You ask.

"Generally the strategy would be to have two front line fighters and you in the back providing support. However as it is just the two of us you will have to provide front line support as well. You will buff and debuff, and try to aim for counters when they perform their arts. If you fail that, then you will get taken out far too quickly to be of use. I will take them out if they do not use arts, and you can counter them if they do." She seems to be done talking so you watch the match.

Shimabuku is locked in a heated battle with the two girls who are part of Lotus' guild, and his team mates already seem down. Rose slices down with her blade, but you see Shimabuku flash purple for a moment and then deliver a truly staggering uppercut to her.

The green girl, Pine, begins circling Shimabuku and the two perform some simple hit and run attacks while gauging each others skill. After a few moments Shimabuku sighs and looks at her.

"I am sorry about this. I really am, Chen. I didn't want to have to use this so early but I have no choice. He dashes forward and starts up his combo before shouting "I HAVE A PENIS!" At the girl.

She counters easily with a shout of "OBVIOUSLY!" sending him sprawling back towards the edge of the stage.

He stares at Pine momentarily before looking at you as if he had been betrayed. You shake your head at him and the match continues. Every kick or punch is dodged just as every blade she send his way is deflected.

They seem evenly matched, but as Shimabuku starts up his combo, even when missing, it just gets faster and faster until he finally scores a hit and juggles her until she goes down. He holds up his hand in victory and does a small back-flip. However the crowd is less than excited.

"Who shouts that?"

He lost the war it seems.

The rest of the battles continue on until finally you meet your opponents.

They are a trio of edge punishers, going by the name "EDGE HELL".

You hear them announce the other team and then step onto the arena floor. "And opposite of team "EDGE HELL" stands two mysterious challengers! One of them is named after an delicate flower, but watch out! Those petals have a razor's edge! LET'S HEAR IT FOR LOOOOOTUUUUSS! And her partner! They call them the Confuser! Are they a man... or a woman? (Seriously? Dammit Steve, you're supposed to get their member info three days before the match!) The crowd answers the call for applause which drowns out your rebuttal of "I have a penis!"

The battle starts off slow, you spend the majority of the fight trying to set up the timings and get your buff/debuff right. By the end of the fight you think you have the timing down right, it was lucky you have edge punishers as your enemy. Lotus hangs back most of the battle, letting you get used to the feel of the arena battlefield and how different it is from a proper fight. When she feels you are ready, or when she is way too bored, she manages to take out two of the edge punishers in a single strike of her blade, and you manage to pull your opponent's sword from his grip with the tips of your fans and impale him on his own blade.

Your headache begins to flare up again and you see in the stands a pair of crimson eyes with cyan hair watching you intently. It is too far away to know for certain but you think you see her lick her lips.

You are now level 33.

As you leave for the stands you see Snark standing in an alleyway. He beckons for you to come over.

You look at Mania and slowly bask towards the alley, wondering whether or not the world has genitals. The sex could be horrifying.

You decide to go talk with Snark. He seems unusually pleased by your choice as you make your way over to him. "You are an impossibly irritating fellow, did you know that?" You ask making him frown.

"No one has ever said that to me before, you know." He replies sadly.

"Well, now you have. What do you want?" You ask making him tilt his head in thought.

"I just wanted to warn you. Next round you are going to have to use it... probably Well, having to use it so early may not be bad but... that Hamelin fellow might be a problem." He explains causing you to shake your head.

"What are you talking about?" You ask making him frown even deeper.

"You have not even suspected it yet? Not even a little? Well, I am sure it will work itself out with Lotus there, but just to be safe be really careful. It is not like you have to hurt them when it happens but, still. I have a lot riding on this too you know." He tells you before patting you on your shoulder and walking out of the alley.

You are moderately confused as you make your way back to your seat.

You get there just as the next match starts. You see the pied piper looking character, and next to him two black monstrosities. They look like come sort of animal broken into a gross parody of humans. Hamelin raises his hand calmly and the black shaped creatures lunge at the opposing team and in a matter of seconds rips them to shreds. He seems somewhat dissatisfied at the progress and checks an old fashioned pocket watch.

"Oh dear, it seems to have taken a bit too long for them to cut out. They may have felt a little pain. Oh well, PR will cover it up." He smiles signalling for the black creatures to follow him back to his private little corner in the stands.

You let out a sigh of relief before going over back over to Lotus and glaring at her. "Enough of this cloak and dagger bullshit. I want answers" You demand causing her to shake her head.

"It doesn't matter. I need you to defeat Raum, that is it-" She starts but you grab the front of her shirt and slam her into the wall.

"Enough bullshit! You know more than I do and I am tired as fuck of dancing around your little game icewoman. Now we have to deal with those monsters next round, and I am not walking into it blindfolded!" You yell making a few other spectators look your way.

For the briefest of moment's you think you see her eyes shine pink and you feel something stirring within you in response. She sags slightly and looks at the ground before whispering, almost too quiet for you to hear, "Raum almost killed my sister."

You land and the announcer looks over the two of you before nodding. "Here they are again folks! The Mature beauty who can freeze anyone's hearts with a glance, The maiden of the bloody garden! The one, the only LOOOOTTTTUUUUUSSSSS! Standing next to her is a person who had no equal! Setting a recond for number of fans that had even NAOO turning her head the dancing death, the beauty of Lumia, the one, the only, CHEEEEEEEEEEN!" You raise you hand in salute and find yourself being drowned in cheers. You let out a small sigh as a rose hits you in the back of the head.

Ah yes, the saddest shootout in meta history.

Deciding that just walking in and kicking his ass would be boring you strike a dramatic pose and say "Your end will be much like my face. BEAUTIFUL!" The bell rings and you lay down an area debuff on the group before you are pushed back on the offensive by one of the beasts while Lotus is pushed back by the other one. You throw up your fans in an attempt to ward them off, but they are ripped to shreds and you are thrown to the ground. You manage to roll out of the way of its pouncing, which you recall from the first fight. You stand in the back of the arena when you feel something pierce your chest. You look down and see ribbons of darkness extending from the beast's arms into the ground and up into you. You wince as a familiar pain begins to over take you and you fall to the ground.

"Chen, damn it. I'll handle this. Come... Tar-" She starts but the pain makes you black out. That coma was really restful

There's plenty to do, I have to help Lotus win the title, I have to kick the crap out of that cheating Piper. I have to figure out how to help the people in a coma. I suppose now I know how far the rabbit hole goes, but because of that this goes far beyond my job. I have to stand up, I have to help these people, if only because I'm the only one who can. But most importantly, if I die, people will keep thinking I'm a girl. So I can't die yet, because I...I am a man. I HAVE A PENIS!" You shout again causing snark to laugh.

"Right, right? See? I knew you were fun. Well, I can only push you into the pool for now, if you sink or swim is up to you. Granted when it comes to the others I suppose my abilities are a bit... well, let's just say it is lucky you have Tarvos with you this time around. Still, try and be creative." He snickers and you feel the darkness rush in but instead of the sweet embrace of a coma, you open your eyes to the arena. You look up and see some sort of serpent covered in eyes and with a blade going through its stomach with a pair of wings fighting off a two headed dog like beast when you smile.

Hamelin looks at you and seems surprised. "I was certain they managed to data drain you into a coma. How interesting, do you have some sort of surprise for me too then?" He asks as you look at him.

You do not even bother composing yourself when you feel your mind slowly begin eroding away into something more. You laugh as the black dots gush forth from you and transform you. With a scream of "SNARK!" you join the fray as a weird caricature of an angel.

The two headed dog seems confused to say the least, as does the serpent, but as you fly up and begin shooting some form of small energy blasts at the dog it seems to accept you on its side.

You shout and fly towards the beast. you try to instinctively punch the creature, but as you have no arms you fail. You are about to panic when the creature bites at you, but your body is made of countless tony strings of light, so they harmlessly pass through you. You decide to try and use some of your instinctive abilities and manage to fire something like a scatter gun at the creature. You fly forward again as Tarvos holds him at bay and fire the scatter gun point blank into it's muzzle. The bullets stick into the beast like thorns and begin burrowing away at it.

Tarvos uses the sword coming out of its mouth and sliced into the beast and you see something called 'Protect Break' happen. You feel your body trembling as you fly over to it and let your cords of light settle over it. From just below where the angel's "head" is a giant mouth filled with razor sharp teeth open up and bite down on the creature, ripping out two orbs.

Tarvos slowly shatters into tiny pieces of light and Lotus gently sets down onto the arena floor. You take the cue and relax, allowing the dark madness to relent on your mind. As you settle back down you feel that eating that creature somehow evolved your power.

The three of you stare at each other for a few seconds before he shrugs. "I give, there would be no benefit in it for me if I were to go all out here. I have to say though Chen, I can't believe I let something as interesting as you pass by without getting you under my spell. My mistake I suppose." He sighs turning to leave.

Ok so uh

What are we supposed to do if we fight Shimabuku? If we don't want to use our meta knowledge, we'll have to PK him. Getting him to surrender doesn't seem like a viable option either.

"Wait a second. What's your member address?" You ask causing him to pause and stare at you.

"Why should I give my member address over to experiment material? Don't worry, I am certain we will meet again soon enough. Here or in the real world." He promises before turning and leaving again.

You watch Hamelin leave and momentarily consider eating him too, but then shake your head. That was just snark talking.... sure. No matter what the circumstance you are an officer of the law, and you will never stoop down to their level. You instead send a message to Durga and ask her what it was she saw when you were fighting and then turn to Lotus as the two of you leave the arena.

"So, what exactly just happened?" You ask.

"I am not sure, it is similar to when I summon Tarvos but..." She frowns a bit in thought.

"Question! Sorry, Tarvos?" You ask causing her to nod once.

"That snake covered in wings. Tarvos. It was my power. Similar to the power Raum uses, but I am not certain what he calls his." She explains as Durga sends you a message back.

"You guys were really fast, and using these weird techniques and stuff. I have no idea but... Ah! For a second you were covered in black dots and in the replay you eyes went totally black." She is no help, but you thank her anyway.

The two of you sit down on the spectators bench and Shimabuku comes up to you. "Hey, hey! What's that now? What happened to them being a danger, huh? You just wanted to show off, didn't you?" He smiles throwing an arm around you.

And... and you can feel that.

You panic for a moment, but you realize it is slowly fading away, either a side effect of those monsters hitting you or you using your power, either way.

"Here they are! The hot blooded! The manly! TEEEEEAAAAAAMMMMM AZTEC!" Shimabuku raises his arms to the crowd as they give a fairly impressive cheer. He claps along with them for a bit then does a back flip.

"Aaaaaaand in this corner, the PK Sadist from hell! The Woman who murders to get her rocks off! You know her, you fear her, iiiiiit's MANIA!" Swift as lightning Mania falls down to the stage.

You are about to sigh in relief when Shimabuku glances at you and gives you a thumbs up. The idiot is going for it. Evidently your victory over Hamelin makes him feel like he has to compete.

You decide to sit back and watch, but make ready to jump in if things get dicey. Again, Mania locks eyes with you and just stares, even as the bell rings and shimabuku's companions charge in. She does not even look at the as she gives two quick backhands and sends them sprawling to the ground KOed. She continues staring at you before her attention is grabbed by Shimabuku laughing loudly.

"I see! So that is how you attack! You better stop staring at my buddy like that or you are going to lose it before you make it to him! I swear, why do women go for that girly look! I have hair in uncomfortable places and I have no idea how to use half the items in most bathrooms! But I get it, you like strong, I can give you strong." He smiled before dashing forward and stomping.

She tries to give him another careless back-hand but he ducks low under it and delivers a resounding uppercut which connects perfectly. She finally looks at him but it is too late, his favorite combo of arts and martial arts moves has already started. She tries to lunge out with a kick, but is brought low by a full body liver blow. She tries to back up but he just speeds up to keep sticking to her and continues laying on every attack imaginable.

He finally finishes his combo after juggling her in the air(Something you have honestly never seen him finish on anyone in the time you have spent with him) and she falls to the ground and he jumps back a few feet. He continues holding his pose as she just lays there.

After a few seconds of silence some one in the croud shouts out, and in an instant the crowd is in an uproar. Slowly Shimabukku lowers his arms and smiles that stupid grin. He raises his fist in the air like a boxer when suddenly he hears some shuffling from behind him and a gasp.

In an instant Mania is back on him, her arms crisscrossed with black cracks and her fingers hammered into sharpened claws. She begins laying into him with a small smile on her face "Almost, almost, almost, almost, almost, almost" She mutters at a higher and high pitch as she juggles him.

She kicks him into the protecting wall of the arena and he barely manages to roll out of the way as she charges where he would have been and tears at the ground. "Why did you run, I am almost there. So close, so very close. You should not leave a woman unsatisfied you know. You will be hated." She smiles, her mouth seeming a bit too wide.

"The hell... I can feel it. Shit, sorry Chen, looks like I should have listened. Pointless now I guess, doesn't look like she is going to let me go. Still, Shimabuku is a man's man who only looks forward, that's my way!" He shouts before jumping up towards her and trying to land a dropping knee kick.

You can see small black dots coiling around her arm.

"Honestly, you are far too loud." You hear from behind you just as Mania lands the killing blow on Shimabuku.

You turn and look and see Snark sitting in the formerly empty seat behind you. "Where the hell were you! Shimabuku is in a coma now because you-!" You start but then stop as Lotus looks at you deeply concerned.

"That advice you gave him, looks like that Shimabuku is a lot smarter than you give him credit for." He explains looking down at the arena.

"What do you mean?" You whisper while looking down at the twisted monster Mania has become.

"You didn't notice? Just before that knee landed he must have torn off his M2D. Smart, the only way they would have been able to effect him is if they could get in through there. I can't say there won't be any repercussions from the damage he already got but... he should be fine. Still..." He frowns while looking at Mania closely as she resumes staring at you.

"Did I really put something like that in her? I was young, so I wasn't as fully developed but... how should I put it. Doesn't it lack my level of class?" He asks looking at you plainly as if Shimabuku were the furthest thing from his mind.

"Yo Chen, heh, my bad. I thought I could take her. Damn, this hurts worse than that time I got hit by that car, pretty sure something is broken, but I managed to tear the thing off of me in time. I just need to rest for a bit. My bosses are gunna be pissed though. You cryin?" He smiles before slowly standing up, his character model seemingly imitating his damage.

"They are manly tears" you reply

He looks up at Mania, who for the entire time has been staring at you both. "Nice try bitch." he sneers causing her to tilt her head.

"As a man, you were immensely unsatisfying." She replies causing Shimabuku to hold his hand over his chest in mock pain.

"Why has she been staring at me? Snark?" You ask causing him to look at you as if you were stupid.

"Because she is batshit." He answers before vanishing.
