Freak Quest time!In this quest, you take the role of a big armed, friendly freak, who is currently adventuring with his lizard like friend Joey.Previous threads can be found here:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=freak+questIn the last session, after waking from a disturbing nightmare, you found yourself in a strange bedroom with Joey. After eating some jelly, and trying to drink some of the weird drinks that had been left on the table in the room, you and Joey decided to try to spy on the older freaks who had treated you. You ventured to a strange bath room where you eaves dropped on the discussion the two older freak ladies were having. It turns out that the strange syringe is something called aromaculi, and it is very valuable. The two freaks were themselves in a situation in which they needed outside help to deliver the syringe to their masters. After hearing that they planned on using you and Joey to do this delivery, you quickly decided to act stupid so that the older freaks wouldn't realize that you were in fact aware of their plan. After an extraordinary successful bluffing you managed to convince the two freaks to think that you and Joey were perfect for the Job. While the other freak lady prepared the syringe inside a some sort of pheromone package, the other instructed you where to take it.
>>24220641>How this works:Suggest an action and the freak will act. I will try to illustrate it as well as I can. Certain actions will require 1d10 rolls to see if they are successful. There are also slightly more complicated rules for combat:There are 3 stats, strength, toughness, and agility, in addition to them, there are hitpoints. All stats are capped at 10, and the baseline hitpoints of a gutterborn freak like the MC are 6.Attacks are handled like this:The attacker rolls 2d6.The first roll is for the attack damage, second for the speed.Damage: 1d6+str+modifiers (if there are any)- the foe's toughness.Speed: 1d6+agiThe target of the attack may try to either dodge or block the blow.Dodge: 1d6+agi vs Attack speed.Bloc: 1d6+toughness vs attack damage.Ties go in the favor of the attacker. These rules are still work in progress, and I appreciate any input on them. Here is your current inventory:>3 empty small containers.>1 full small containers (1 biogel dozes)>1 medium container with 5 biogel dozes.>1 Pheromone package. (Strange syringe, aka aromaculi)>Cutting tools.>Claw arm.>Improved walking eye bladder.>1 ration package.>Bone armor. You are also equipped with a bone sword.Joey has the bone knife.
>>24220652>Brief recap of the last few post of the last session:The insectoid lady steps closer to you and says:"Unfortunately, I do not trust that you could find your destination, even if I explained it in detail. Thus, I will show it to you."Before you can react, she grabs hold of you with her arms and says:"Do not resist. It will hurt less."
>>24220697The vision ends as quickly as it started, and as you re-open your eyes, a sharp pain hits your head. The insectoid lady laughs heartily, and taps your head."Don't worry little gutter runner, the pain will end soon. Tum, is the package ready?""It is, dear sister." Says the tall freak."Good, then we are set. Let us just hope that these little ones can do their task. Now you two, remember, that this is your special mission. Do not mention it to anyone else, understand? When you get to the temple, ask for Revered sister Siran. Don't worry about the door mistresses, they will let you pass..you are on a special mission, after all."The tall freak presents you the package. It has a strange, somewhat sweet scent, which you can't entirely place."Now, treat this package with care, for your mission's success depends on it."You have acquired a pheromone package containing the strange syringe (aromaculi).
>>24220714You and Joey have now packed up your gear, and are ready to leave the two older freaks."Remember, your mission is very special, do not speak of it to anyone." Says the tall freak. Is there still something you want to do, or ask from the two ladies?
>>24220714is Tum based off of a turian?
>>24220784Not really. She originates from one of the generic freak concept pictures I drew, just like Jial.
>>24220779What about (shoot, forgot his name) our merchant friend? He'll want to know where we've gone?
>>24220805Forgot to post the picture of the two.
>>24220809Javak.You do not currently know his exact location. When you woke up, Joey said that he had visited you while you were unconscious, but then left somewhere with his friend, presumably the owner of this bar, Char.
>>24220779Nod politely, take our leave, keep calm and find Javak. Once we find him, attempt to tell him about the package, to see if this chitinous skank put any kind of mind control in us.
>>24220826Alright. I still don't like being used. I think we should try to find Javak and screw these broads over. Let's get going. As soon as we're out of earshot of the vatmothers (that the right term?) tell Joey everything we overheard from her.
>>24220826>>24220845In which case, return to the bar? The bartender might know where he is.
>>24220855I second this. Ask Yzel. But before entering the bar again, make sure that the Ultros clan freaks aren't there still.
>>24220855Yeah, best if we were outta here sooner rather than later.
You and Joey nod tum and Jial goodbye, and then head out of their room. You decide to go back to the bar, to ask Yzel if he knows where Javak is.As you walk back to the stairway, you spot two older freaks in the corridor. They seem to be just casually chatting with each other."Did you hear how mad Char got when he found out that Ulae had let someone into the brewery. I heard that he is gonna have his touch receptors removed as a punishment.""Thank the maker that I didn't get any flak from that. I was stationed as a guard in the next corridor."
>>24221051Don't bother them and keep moving.
>>24221051Just keep walking. Don't forget to tell Joey what we overheard.
>>24221051Interject as you approach."On a related note to that, gentlefreaks, we're looking for Javak. About my friend's height, trader with one of the guilds, was up talking with your employer during that... incident. Any idea where he is?"
>>24221114I dunno about that. Any attention we can garner will, in all likelyhood, result in only more trouble.
>>24221202Probably right. Retracting.
>>24221213Just go find the bartender then. He seemed an alright sort.
>>24221051Serves that gross little wall vermin right. I still feel dirty.
>>24221238I really want to find him and rub it in his face a bit, no matter how terrible that idea may be.
You and Joey quickly move past the two chatting freaks. They give you few curious glances, before returning to their discussion. As you walk towards the staircase, you can hear the two talking behind you."..hopefully that will teach the wall scum to learn his place.""Should we have stopped those gutterspawn? I doubt that they are allowed here.""I don't know, nor do I care. I am not on guard duty right now."Will you head downstairs?
>>24221315Hrmm. There's a risk the Ultros guys are still there, but the bartender might know where Javak is. Can we find our way to where Javak was before the Ultros spy attacked us?
>>24221315Proceed downstairs. It'l likely that we'll get to meet char in person. He probably has to run damage control since our little incident. If there is any Ultros clan still there, it's fine because the area is now neutral and patrolled.
>>24221315Is something the matter with Joey? She seems upset.
>>24221411That's because I forgot to write the stuff about you telling her what you overheard.Joey is somewhat confused by the whole ordeal, and asks if you are going to do what the nice ladies asked of you.Anyways, it will take a moment for me to make the next scene, as I need to repopulate the bar with new freaks.
>>24221432No troubles man. Take all the time you need.
Now that FQop is working so hard on the scene, it makes me feel somewhat guilty that I'm going to suggest actions to leave the bar as soon as possible. Better get the next one ready.
You descend the stairway down to the bar and peek out of the doorway.Your ears are again flooded with the sounds of the various discussions and arguments the freaks are having.Again, due to the general commotion of the place, you can only make out few bits and pieces of sentences from here and there."..are good hunting grounds for gutter bor-""Sssh! You know how the clanners thing of that!""I saw a patcher fly the other day, horrible creatures.""..some say that the Bulwark has been overrun by aughounds..""Well, what do you expect when Lienis can no longer..""The well will only bring problems here! No matter who holds it!""..ooh..naughty one you are?..""..gonna drink that or not!? You have been sitting here for hours, staring at that cup!""..from the Bazaar. The prices are atrocious though.""Yeah, they take your arm and leg with them.""..sucks! We have been waiting for Lekha for hours now! He probably ditched us for a night with a whore upstairs!""Yeah, let's go! Well come back tomorrow for him.""..so, what else would you suggest for drinks than this?">brb, dinner.
>>24221839And back. What are you gonna do?
>>24221839>"..gonna drink that or not!? You have been sitting here for hours, staring at that cup!"I actually laughed out loud from that.Might as well talk to Yzel.
(Sorry this took this long, I got distracted.)You approach Yzel, and he quickly notices you."Oh, you two. What do you want? It's quite busy right now."
>>24222290Have you seen Javak? We can't find him.
>>24222290Yzel you seem like a decent freak, I'll let you know. If you have anything invested with Lekha be wary. Lekha is about to lose a lot of standing in the next few cycles. Also where is Char or Javak?
>>24222333You ask Yzel if he knows where Javik is."Hmm, he hasn't returned here since he went upstairs the first time. I recon that he is still with char. Either in the lounge or in Char's personal chambers. Do you want to go to him?""Hey, Yzal! Tell Lekha to meet us in the Begred's place if you see him." Yell the two passing freaks.
>>24222677"Yes, I do want to see him."
>>24222677The air of the bar seems much less hostile than before. There are no Ultros enemies to spot us. No creepy freaks are leering at us or Joey. What would be the harm of grabbing a solitary table or corner and waiting. I also want to overhear more pieces of barroom chatter.
>>24222677"Yes"Go with Yzel. Keep an eye out in case of anyone following us. Be prepared this time. Ask if Joey can have a drink.
>>24222729>>24222811Yzel can't actually move, as he is kinda anchored to the dispenser things on the wall.He can however, instruct you where the Lounge or Char's chambers are.>>24222756This is also an option.
>>24222811Just moments before our talk with the two freaks who gave us the aromaculi, we let Joey BATHE in a tub FULL of bloodlike liquid. Joey has had Enough for awhile and giving even more is spoiling for trouble.
>>24222888I was not aware. Perhaps we should linger. My only fear is discovery by the Vat Mothers, though I think the likelyhood of that happening is slim.
>>24222976There's an option that works best for avoiding the slim chance of that. Wait with Ivas. Big steed guy.He might even know some good information.
>>24223054I do miss Ivas.
So, what will you do?
>>24223095Get directions from Yzal.
>>24223054Now this right here is a good idea. Does depend a bit on him being outside though.
>>24223134He was instructed to stay put. There's my vote. Wait with Ivas. Explain what we overheard to Joey.
>>24223134Retracting this, going with >>24222756; Javak's likely going to exit through here first anyway, and getting more of a feel for the kind of society we'll have to deal with seems like a good idea. Also because that poor guy nursing a drink in the corner looks sad. He needs a hug.
>>24223129You ask Yzal for directions."Well, Char's chambers are upstairs. Directly from the end of the staircase, take a turn to the left. At the next intersection, take the left path again, and walk to the end of the corridor. The door at the end leads to his chambers. You can find the lounge if you take the path to right at the end of the staircase. There is a big door that leads to it.Of course, you aren't really supposed to go to the upper floors, but I can smell that you already somehow gained the scent. I would advice you to stay far away from Char."
>>24223245"Do you know where Ivas went? I'd rather wait with him than risk angering Char again,"
>>24223345Ivas never entered the bar. He stayed outside.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/23483816/#p23485606
>>24223377>>24223345Yeah, Ivas is outside, at least to your knowledge. So, what will you do? Do you wait here, follow Yzel's instructions, or go outside to see if Ivas is still there?
>>24223377Fine, let's just find him then. Ivas was nice, and didn't want to murder us.
>>24223495Check about for Ivas. If he's not there, we can just go and Javak.
>>24223498>>24223509You go back outside without catching much attention. It seems that Ivas is still there.(Sorry if this session is kinda slow, I keep getting distracted and I am not having the best ideas for plot hooks and right now.)
>>24223787Say hello, tell him things in the bar got a little distressing, and you decided to wait for Javak out here. We should wait for Javak to tell the whole story.
>>24223787Chill out with Ivas for a while, ask if he wants us to get him a drink. Ask him about what it's like working for whatever that group he works for is like.
>>24223787The fact that this is gigerworld can be a hinderance sometimes. In most anyother setting a bar is the perfect place to find NPCs with random fetch or hunter quests to earn minor rewards. Those two ideas don't seem to mesh well with our current situation. We do have the interesting journal objectives, but nothing to directly "gain +1 stat point" or "you will receive 5 health potions."In GIGERWORLD, to open the locked chest you have to do crazy shit like rip an augment out of another freak's arm, swallow it along with 3 dozes of biogel for 2 days, then finally vomit upon the receptacle on the chest for it to open. If we were part of a clan like Ultros, we might have opportunities for simple "collect protection money" or "defend gang turf" side missions that are done quick and easy.I want to wait inside the bar, no drinking, no fighting, just wait. Catch the local chatter and leave with Javak when he finally comes.
>>24223787Perhaps we should move on to meeting Godal? It was Javak's intent in the first place.
>>24224111Ivas knows the way. Ivas travels with Javak. Javak is still inside with Char. If we see Char, he will be mad at us.
>>24223218I keep thinking he's like Doc Brown from Back to the Future part 3. He holds a single shot of whiskey all night, telling crazy future stories. Then in the morning takes a single gulp and is knocked flat.Marty: "Jesus how much has he had?!?"Barman: "Just the one."
>>24224001>>24224052You greet Ivas."Oh, hello there children. Got fed up with the bar I take?"You tell him that it got a little distressing and you wanted to get out for a while at least. However, you offer to go back and get him a drink."Thanks for the offer, but I am afraid that the liquids sold in Char's bar are not nearly strong enough for a freak of my size."You also ask him what it is like working for the Golbax guild."Heh, working..well, could be worse. I do not really have a choice on the matter. The augments that made me into what I am now weren't free you know. I am valuable property of my guild, which of course, means that I tend to be protected well. So I would say that it has it's perks."
>>24224309So, will you stay here with Ivas until Javak comes back, or do you back to the bar?
>>24224529Yeah, just wait with Ivas until Javak comes back.
>>24224529Stick with Ivas. Javak can't be too much longer, can he?
>>24224309Ask Ivas:Were you always this big?How did you meet Javak?
We could buy that slime gland if we want to.
Hm what happen to the second claw aug I thought we were going to combine it with the other one to make a much more powerful version. On another note go back to bar and ask the bar keep where the refuse goes chances are the invisible freak corpse was deposited there and we could maybe salvage some augs.
>>24224309> hello there children
>>24225011You made me laugh you ass.
>>24224541>>24224580>>24224676You sit and lean on Ivas as you begin to wait for Javak. Joey curls up and starts resting. You ask Ivas is he was always as large as he is now."No, I was not. I am an old freak child. The Guild found me in one of the northern gutters, and took me in. I was strong, and sturdy, but not fast enough for fighting, so they made me carry things. As time passed, they put more and more augments into me, so that I could carry and transport things even better. They eventually put some sort of growth enhancing gland inside me, which caused me to slowly grow this big. I am a valuable investment to my masters." >>24224980You sold it in one of the earlier sessions.
>>24225111Ask him if he thinks we'll be used for carrying things like he is, or if we'll be used for fighting.
>>24225111"Has the Guild been fair? You keep calling yourself an investment, do they care that little?"
>>24225172You ask him if you will be used for carrying stuff too."Hmm, depends. You can fight better than I did when I was your size, and your other arm is weak. Godal also already has many strong workers like me, so you might be more useful as a guard.">>24225295"Care little? No, they care very much. I am very valuable, for the Guild, and our enemies. I am protected with many augments and our enemies know that they can't face me head on. I pay the gifts they have given me with work, and they keep me safe. They support my needs and I serve them in exchange. I may not be free, but I am secure."
>>24225385i like these thumbnails
>>24225385Ask if we'll get to work with him, Javak, and Joey if we're a guard.
>>24225520"Again, that depends on the whims of Godal. Though, if you really want to, you might be able to. However, you still need to prove yourself to him."Joey is fast asleep now, and you too feeling somewhat tired. Are you going to continue waiting here, or will you do something else?(Check the Journal for things people wanted to check in the last session for ideas.)
>>24225609Oh, yeah. Lets go look for someone that might be able to bone mold so we can get our armor sized.
>>24225609Find the local refuse pile to find to the corpse of the invisible turning freak hopefully we can also find another claw.
>>24225645>>24225693You decide to do some exploration of your surroundings. You start walking along the wall of the bar structure, trying to see where it will take you."Don't stray too far, you do not want to get lost in this city." Ivas says as you leave.>Continue exploring?
>>24225782Sure. Try not to go too far out of sight though.
>>24225782Yeah. Make sure to memorize the sign for the bar, just in case.
>>24225782It's probably a good idea to wait for Javak so that he can be our guide for the city, but waiting is boring. Forward, to discovery!
>>24225953You continue to advance along the wall of the building. As you walk, an increasingly powerful stench of decay floods your nostrils. The stench is coming from further up in the alley. You see few other freaks in this alley too. One of them you recognize from the bar when you arrived there."Keep walking runt, this doorway is only for Char's workers." He says as you glance at him.You can see strange, buzzing creatures sitting on the walls. They seem to be excreting some sort of slime on the walls.>Am I updating things too slowly?
>>24226162Nah, it's fine man. Check out that refuse pile over there.
>>24226180You go to check out the refuse pile. The stench is horrible. As you approach, the skittery little freak is alarmed to your presence and angrily yelps:"Whoareyou! Goleave! Myfoodpile! My!"
>>24226706"I don't want to eat anything! Just looking for something."
>>24226706No need to get so angry friend. Just wandering, not looking to steal from you.
>>24226706get in a fightdefeat him spare his life and convert to follower
>>24226801"Lierlies! Takeaway mystuff! Myfood! Goleave! I hurtkill youdead!!"The smaller freak seems very twitchy. It's body seems quite frail though. It probably is not a large threat.
>>24226948Just start looking for the invisible freak's corpse, but keep an eye on him. If he moves to attack we'll lay his ass out.
>>24226948I say just walk away, no point in dealing with his shit.
>>24226948Disregard his threats and search the refuse pile, ignoring the little freak. If he does anything, intimidate.
>>24226948"Don't be a greedy little shit head. There is literally no way you could eat all of this by yourself before it rots."
You start digging trough the refuse pile. Most of the stuff here seems to have went trough some sort of partial digestion thing, as they are all mushy and partially dissolved. The pile smells disgusting. The small freak keeps yelling behind your back to stop digging trough his pile.Roll 1d10 for finding the corpse you seek.Number to beat:6First roll will be counted.(Tough, a roll close enough to the target number, will result in a partial success.)
>>24227168They see me rollan
Rolled 1>>24227208And lets try that again
Rolled 1>>24227199>>24227208oh wow
Rolled 6>>24227240Yep, got the derps today
>>24227227>>24227240You have doomed us all.
>>24227211You manage to find a disembodied arm, that kinda looks like the arm of the stalker freak. You are not sure though. All the other stuff in the pile is way too unrecognizable. The little freak keeps yelling:"Goleave! Away! Mypile! Nostealing! MustEat! Beforeitcomes!"
Rolled 4>>24227353stop whining and eat then you stooge!
>>24227353Awww man. Toss it back in the pile and then wander off. Lets go check out what's around the bend, and then if it's nothing interesting we should head back to our friends.
>>24227353Don't we need to eat too? Perhaps we should take a moment and have ourselves a snack.
>>24227353>BeforitecomesGET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE
The little freak keeps getting increasingly agitated...
>>24227485> Jaws theme music
>>24227485Oh shit RUN!
>>24227485lets just leave, that asshole can just have that pile or mangled parts to himself
>>24227485"You are so loud. Shut up or I swear I'll punch your shit in."Drop the partial arm. Don't need it. Run full intimidate on little scrappy freak. Make a show of getting up in its face and how we are larger than tiny Mr. 'Mypile'
>>24227485Grab Mr.Mypile (try to make a friend) and run like hell. throw the arm at the huge thing if it pursues.
The black carapaced creature howls aggressively at you, as it approaches. A large, fleshy, grub like thing is steadily following the aggressive creature."Notyet! Allmyfood! Ittakesit!" Yells the little freak.
>>24227819Relax dudes. It's just city cleanup and its protection. Waltz on out of here, dragging Screechy the Greedy for his own safety
>>24227819Be away from here with great haste.
Rolled 7>>24227819Just back away from both it and the pile, and hope it looses interest in you.
You quickly flee from the large grub thing and it's bodyguard. You also drag the little freak some distance away from the pile, for his own good. The freak has, well, freaked out, and it stays behind to curse the grub thing for eating all it's food.
>>24228099Tell little freak that we can give him better, easier sources of food than this. And some fun too. This guy would be like a pet right? A loud, annoying pet that can talk.
>>24228123Don't like this idea. He's loud and stupid, not unlike myself.
Rolled 10>>24228199I agree but maybe we should talk to him though, find out how a specimen like himself manages to live? But it's probably a waste of time.
You allow the little freak follow you back to the bar entrance. It seems that Javak has returned."So, you went on a little adventure, yees? Did you find anything interesting, besides that little runt following you?">Btw, you still have the disembodied arm. If the roll had been a total failure, you would have gotten nothing.(I am also getting very tired.)
>>24228247Are you agreeing that I'm ugly and stupid or he's ugly and stupid?Either way I'm offended and mildly aroused.
>>24228247>>24228199>>24228233Well, I wanted to bring him along so we could forcibly turn him into an aughound, if that's how making an aughound works. We'd have a strong, loyal follower that can't betray us, and who we don't have to provide for except by feeding them. Does that sound good? Because if you don't want to bother with this guy, I suggest we keep an eye out for ways to purchase an aughound. Maybe even tame a wild one from the Bulwark, since that place is overrun with them, according to the bar gossip
>>24228361Leave with Javak. Just continue on to the yellow bazaar. Maybe next time we can meet Godal.
Rolled 1>>24228361Give the arm to the runt, I doubt it's of any use to us and it will probably make him leave us alone or not back stab us later if it comes to that.>>24228393I don't we have the skill nor the time to bother with an aughound, nor do I think we should waste potentially perfectly augs.>>24228383yes.
"So, are you ready to leave for the Yellow Bazaar, or is there still something you wish to do here?"Asks Javak.
>>24228687I figure we can get most anything done at the Yellow Bazaar, so lets head there.
>>24228687tell him we need to talk on the way there
>>24228687Ask him if he got any augs from the intruder's corpse.
>>24228687"We are ready to go. Some interesting things happened while you were talking with Char"
>>24228721>>24228745>>24228750You tell him that you are pretty much ready to go.You also tell that you need to talk during the trip. Finally, you ask him if he found any augs in the intruder's corpse."Alright then, we can get going! We have time to talk on the trip, yees. Char put his drones to scrap the intruder's body. He said that there were no significant augs, other than some traces of dermal enhancements, but we could not figure out what from the dead corpse."
Give the useless digested arm to Mr Mypile. Then push him away and mount up on Ivas' back.
>>24228487>>24228838I agree with this, but also ask if Joey wants Mr. Mypile for reasons.
>>24228918Agreed. If he knows any easy way to make Mr.Mypile, or Mr.M, into something more useful, then we'd like to do whatever that would be. Also, cooking him and eating him sounds fun. Maybe use him for an anatamoy lesson from Javak?
Before you manage to say or ask from Joey, she pounces the tiny runty freak, and begins to maul him.The freak screams in pain for few moments, before Joey snaps it's neck.Javak gazes at the scene for few seconds, before continuing."So, were ready to leave now, yeees?"
>>24229031"Uh... yeah, we're ready. You okay Joey?"
>>24229031We're good. Ask Joey if we can have the head. It looks crunchy
>>24229031I don't think this is a good thing. That could have been us if we were smaller. Weren't we a bro at some point?
>>24229135rules of nature
>>24229031Well there goes Mr. Mypile, your ether the predator or the prey, it's a shame we gave him such a cool name too.Tell Joey not to be so eager to prey on freaks weaker then us, there might always be unforeseen consequences.>>24229060Yeah lets keep the head.
>>24229135We may have been, but Joey has consistently showed much more animalistic tendencies. Remember, she was planning on eating us when she first met us.
>>24229196That's my point. Weren't we going to do the whole "Morality in shitland" thing?
>>24229220You know what? Leave it, let's just get on with the quest.
>>24229220Later. We can just chide Joey for now on how we were going to help the little fellow. Make him stronger, make him helpful
Joey did that same thing for like 2 cycles straight. Even though that was only 2 cycles ago, it's like old habits or first learned behaviors die hard. She's fine, and we can be a bro to other freaks, just not super annoying ones with nothing valuable traits.
>>24228393That's not how aughounds work. They're freaks that have augmented themselves too much and/or too quickly. Not the result of eating a lot. They become nothing less than monsters. Lots of eating probably just results in a fat freak.Even if struck down, the augs harvested from one are unusable without driving the new owner insane as well.
We need to tell Javak about the two young vat mothers. See if he has an idea on what to do
You pack your stuff and climb aboard Ivas as you prepare to leave. You also chide Joey for just attacking and killing the little freak unprovoked, and say that either one of you could have been in the receiving end of such a situation.Joey is somewhat annoyed by your criticism."I musst eat too! How else can I eat, if not by killing little and weak thingss? The wallss aren't tasty at all! And if someone tries to eat me, I run away. Thiss one was dumb! It wassn't even prepared to fight! Someone else would have eaten it soon!""Are you two ready back there? Well, even if you aren't we are leaving now! Yeees! Next stop, Yellow Bazaar!" Javak yells. As you head out, you start feeling sleepy. The travel will take many hours, so you have some time to rest now.Joey follows suit, after eating her kill.Your body continues to grow and develop. The mushy biogel rich tissue in your body specializes into more and more developed tissues and organs, as your body continues to mature into it's final shape. >You have 2 points to freely increase into any of your stats, hp or energy bar.Joey's massive indulgence in the blood fluids in the bar, have given her body more material from which to further develop. Much like in you, her body too continues to mature.>Joey also has 2 points to freely allocate to her stats, hp or energy bar.I am gonna end the session here, as it is almost 5 am here. Sorry if this session was kinda sub par. Before I end this completely, please decide how to increase your and Joey's stats.
Exclaim something along the lines of 'what the hell?!"Beyond that, what >>24229521 said.Joey needs to be told about this as well. Explain that we're not do what the "nice ladies" instructed us to. Tell her that the package is actually the syringe and open it up. Then ask if he has any idea what a aromaculi is.
>>24229585I would say +1 to strength and +1 to toughness for us, +1 agility then +1 HP for Joey.
Double up joeys point into strength. We don't want the girl to be unable to fight properly, like when that creep tried to take her.One strength and one HP for us.Those are my votes
>>24229585OP, could you give us an idea of how strong 4 strength is compared to the average freak?
>>24229671Yeah, nix >>24229664 I like his idea better.
>>24229671Alright, going with this one. Here is your current stat picture.>>24229866It's pretty high. For newborn gutterspawn, the avarage stats all hover somewhere around 0-2, depending on their mutations. As they grow, their stats increase too, of course. However, there are many "tiers" of freaks, that can have higher strength than you. The armhead bodygurad creature for example, has a strength of 6, though, to be fair, they aren't normal freaks. They are guardian drones.Anyways, I need to get to sleep now. It's over 5 am here. As always, feel free to offer criticism, or any other kind of input. Also, if you want to keep a track of what to do in the next session, suggest what I should ad to the journal.I hope you guys had fun, despite the kinda lack luster session I delivered.
>>24229866Not sure what the average stats would be, but most successful attacks are 1 or 2 hit kills.
>>24230038Goodnight OP. Can we get some Daaaaw before you go?Also, is the thread archived?
Forget the Daawww, do a quick pic of our big armed hero upper torso, put 6 swollen lumps of flesh circling a larger boil on his right pectoral. It's what I imagine the adrenaline gland to look like. When the time comes to activate it, he uses his big hand to slap his chest, flooding his system with hormones. Like Bane from "Batman and Robin 1997" turning on the venom pump.
>>24230572DO THIS. DO THIS NOW THEN SLEEP
>>24230311http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=gigerIt is now. Freak Quest 9.
>>24230692Thank you, kind anon.
I'm going to bump this thread for a bit with art from Clive Barker's two Abarat books. This is Mater Motley, caretaker of the creepy antagonist Christopher Carrion, living on the island of midnight. She has created and sewn together a shawl of flesh from the bits her crows bring her. The mouths whisper secrets of the future to her, which she begrudgingly tells to Christopher to aid his twisted goals. She is manipulative, with words and her dexterous fingers.
>>24232309From FQop's very first description of the vat mothers, I was instantly reminded of the Mater Motley character.Up next is John Mischief, a friendly red skinned fellow who is a strong fighter and clever thief. He is techically John Mischief the VIII, since he grew from the neck of the previous John, his brothers are now his antlers, all still living and talking. One day his next brother will grow and for John VIII will become an antler. He now owes money to a rough group and has to do their dirty work, despite being a very kind man.
>>24232454Here is just some random gook from an island of the Abarat. While John mischief VIII reminds me of a freak who is serving a gang/clan like Ultros, this guy makes me think of a freak merchant guild. Doesn't appear to have many complex augmentations, but obviously has wealth and refinement. Probably a good talker or salesman.
>>24232518Up next is Mendleson Shape, the "scaryman" mercenary/retriever. He works for the wealthy who can afford him, either Rojo Pixler or Christopher Carrion. As a freak with a stumpy leg, he has an augment that lets the large gouges and wounds in his back function as sheaths for the four blades he carries with him. His notoriety is such that the nursery rhyme "scaryman, scaryman" is about him.
>>24232611And finally here is Christopher Carrion, the lord of midnight. As a corrupted noble, he commands great power and old world influence. He once set rumors upon his castle staff workers, and in the paranoia he spread, two brothers came to see each other as a murderous stalker. One night they donned masks and faced each other, thinking to end their potential killer. After one slew the other, and removed the mask to discover his own beloved brother, Christopher's response to the entire scene was, "A decent relief for my boredom, but the weeping became tiresome at the end." The apparatus he wears syphons the nightmares of his own mind into the amniotic fluid around his face, letting them flit in and out of his mouth for a taste.
>>24232932I want to continue bumping this until SundayPeople should discuss what we should try to do.What are our main augment goals? Should we save most of our biogel for combat damage we take or can we make a large purchase with it? Joey and Javak and Ivas have all eaten another freak for sustenance, will we ever do the same? What will the voices whisper to us the next time we consume a load of biogel?
>>24233584Become a god. Fight other gods. Get joey some nice things
Just as everything in Gigerworld has a freaky hard twist to it, what does it mean to become a god? I like to think that if you can become strong enough to defeat aughounds without going insane from augments yourself, you are pretty close. The catch is to attain this position without getting indebted or harnessed by a group to control you like a drone.
sorry for thumbnail but this is what I imagine the two lovers from the bar to be doing right about now
>>24233584The most important this is that if we graft too many new or replacement parts to ourselves, we'll be reduced to monsters. On multiple occasions, we've tried to help freaks in need, often with no explicit reward. We grabbed Joey while escaping from Uzal (a.k.a. Super Vagina). Helped Javak get back to Ivas. While it ended badly, we retrieved the spine for the freak in the wall. And most recently, we made sure that the little guy didn't get eaten by the street cleaner, although Joey did to him after. We are a protector.
And I am awake again. It's a pleasant surprise to see the thread still around. Now, is there anything you guys would want to ask or discuss about, related to the setting or the quest?
>>24235023oh many things
>>24235074Well, what might these many things be?
>>24236539bumping with side story content
I'm late for the party but WHY did we decide to fuck over the most powerful faction in the setting besides the Nobles? The Vatmothers ain't nothing to fuck with, and yet here we are, just blatantly stealing their shit.
>>24236612Well, to be fair, you haven't yet really fucked over anyone. Thus far, you haven't told Javak about the vatmothers or the syringe, though people seemed to be planning on doing that. Also, this brings me to another topic:Journal entries. Do you guys have things that you want me to ad to the journal? Because that's it's primary function. I won't put things in there if there isn't anything to put there.
>>24236612it was the nobles' shit to start with, then we looted it. then the vat mothers took it from our unconcious body, then we got it back from a bluff check.it belongs to the dead noble, the vat mothers know how to use it, but WE have it right now, so all others can suck a fat one.
FQop, please do this>>24230572pic unrelated
>>24236660But we don't know how to use it, so it's useless to us. And anyone we ask about that syringe will want to take it for themselves, or force us into some other quest to further their interests. Plus, you know, pissed off vatmothers.
>>24236658Nothing for the journal for now. We can work on completing somethings at the Yellow Bazaar, and we need to talk to Javak in the next session. Can you answer this yes or no question. If we had gone back into the brewery to find Char and Javak, would we have entered combat?
>>24236729Nope.I had no combat encounters planned for the last session.
>>24236673Here you go.
Anyone still here?
>>24236660ok am i the only one who says shoot this shit up fucking now, inject! time to hulk the fuck out.
>>24239558oh man, lets not. I can't say for 100% certain but I bet this is what gets injected in the victims. So that nobles can have unquestioning loyal servants. I've also see indications that it MAY spread virus like. Vat mothers would know the tricky part 2 to actually take advantage of it.
>>24239624And this is why I think we need to learn more about the syringe, and the best way to do that is to go through with the vatmothers' quest. Even if we lose this syringe, we might get another one later, or something even better. Besides, vatmothers are masters of grafting and augumentation, getting on their good side would mean we could benefit from their mastery rather than relying on eating biogel and stapling looted augs to ourselves randomly.
>>24239624Someone speculated that the syringe actually allowed it's users to emit some sort of pheromones specific to the house of the syringe. It's name at least, implies some sort of connection to scents or something similar.
>>24239740most reasonable thing to do is to find out exactly what it does. if it is worth so much to the vat mothers, imagine the value to ultros, or one of the guild leaders. While the goons of ultros are assholes so far, the ideal behind the united gangs was to change the status quo, and they seem to be against abusing the wallborn which is us, from what bits of conversation we picked up from javek and the bartender. unlike whoever the bartender was allied with, which gives me the impression that they juice little freaks.
>>24239786ya know, reading over this i still feel bad for the little runt freak.
>>24239832Why, it's only nature running it's course.Kill or be killed.
>>24239832>>24240209Now there no doubt are groups of these runts that search trash piles and live in the alleys. They have a better value system because they work in a team and likely look out for one another. Little Mr Mypile was solitary and dumb. I'd like to see the disorganized order of a runt group, possibly even large enough to be called a swarm. All of them small and weak alone, but together....
>>24240330Now you've got me wanting to befriend a swarm such as that, to give us a safe place to hide. Only a big guild would invest the resources needed to deal with a runt-swarm, and only if we really pissed them off
>>24240700Better idea: we CREATE such a swarm. Gather up a bunch of runts, train them, protect them, feed them, raise them to be our spies, assassins, and soldiers. We'd be the alpha. Leader of the pack.
>>24240752Ultros pls go.
>>24240938Hey, it fits with the noble protector of the weak thing we've been trying to run with.Starting out with good intentions and ending up as a vicious gang leader like Ultros is just a delicious icing on the cake that shows how much of a shithole this setting is.
>>24240973>>24240700Though I try to respond negatively to your posts, I can't help but smile from them. You guys are awesome.
In one of the early threads, someone actually suggested that you would have gone back to the gutters to gather up more gutterspawn to form your own little gang, but the idea didn't gain much popularity back then.
So, are there any more things anyone is interested in discussing, or should the thread be allowed to sink?
