=======
Your name is Harry James Potter, and you have just the other day discovered your talent as a Magus. You learned some of the basics last night from your best friend, Illyasviel von Einzbern, and her father - Kiritsugu von Einzbern - has elected to take you on as an apprentice. Outside of the von Einzberns, you don't really have that many friends. You don't really like most people, and those who do wrong by you and yours you hate with all of your hatred. You've resolved to be a better person than your relatives, and strive to act with compassion towards strangers.

You're currently on the way to school, the bus having just rolled in to pick you up. Illya has dragged you and the new girl - a Hermione Granger - to the back of the bus, where you have strategically positioned yourself to keep Illya from glomping Hermione.

The bushy haired girl looks somewhere between thankful and apologetic.

You're somewhat annoyed that you didn't get to practice any magecraft this morning.

Illya is pouting. She clearly wants her chew toy back.

The bus rolls into St. George's Primary. You and Illya part ways with Hermione to go to your homeroom class - the bushy girl's parents apparently arranged for her to be placed in Dr. Zelretch's homeroom class. You're kind of glad that your teacher is no where near as... quirky as that old man; you get enough of him during math, thank you very much.

During homeroom, you...
>Do some MAGIC... discretely as you can.
>Ask Illya if she can explain Origin Magecraft.
>Ask Illya about Mystic Codes.
>Ask Illya about the homework that's due tomorrow.

You look around the room - not that many students have gotten to class yet, and the homeroom teacher is, as always, conspicuously absent. What few students whom are present are either tapping about on their gameboys in the precious minutes before they'll be forced to put them away or doodling absent mindedly in their notebooks. You're still sort of miffed that you didn't get to grill Illya on all of your questions earlier, but you figure now might be a good time as any to see if she can answer.

"Illya," you poke your bored looking friend in the shoulder. "Illya. Your dad said something about an Origin yesterday. What does that mean?"

"Harry," she says, "now might not be the best time. Homeroom starts in ten minutes, and Origins are rather... complex."

"Please?" You do your best immitation of a kicked puppy.

"Fine, fine," she says, "Easiest way to do this would to just show you anyways, and its not like its a mystery or anything." She pulls out a pencil, and starts drawing something in her notebook. "Your Origin is basically the root of your soul. Its sort of like an atom in that regard - its the smallest metaphysical unit that can still be called an individual."

She rips out the piece of paper. "Take away all of your experiences, your exposire to other metphysical elements - people, I mean - and you'll be reduced to your Origin."

She gives you the sheet, upon which there is a geometric array. "Here, this is the alchemical array that deals with metaphysical aspects of matter and creatures. I'll just channel some prana into it, and..."

The array activates. Everything go black.

Your Origin is reveals itself in...

You see... everything.

You see... nothing.

You're not quite sure what you see, to be honest. You feel as though you are floating, as though you have been trapped within a metaphysical quandry that you cannot escape from. As though the question has been posed: what are you truly, Harry James Potter, and you find yourself lacking an answer. The universe surrounds you with its vastness. The universe abandons you to its whims.

But then you see the cracks. The cracks that are not meant to be seen by mortal eyes. You see them, and through them you see what lies on the other side - the death of things. The nothingness that cannot quite be understood. You see what seems to be a brother and sister - a young boy no older than you, a young woman in a red leather jacket.

Both smile and motion for you to join them. Your soul sings out a single word - bretheren.

Curious as to what these lines really do, you struggle to move your hand towards the nearest crack in the wall. A finger digs in to the line, catching on something that you aren't quite sure is actually there. You drag it down the line, and in your vision that section of the wall seems to peel away. You reach the end, and pull your hand back, and the line flickers out. The peel of reality snaps back into place, and the wall returns to normal.

But only for the briefest instant.

The wall cracks, bricks falling down, and mortar flaking to dust as reality corrects itself. This section of wall died just now - it is no longer a wall, but an unsorted pile of its pieces. The noise of its death is not particularly loud - no explosions, no cracks of thunder, simply the sound of bricks and plaster crashing against the floor.

The hole you made is just large enough for you to step through, if you so desired.

Illya stirs. "Huh... wha..."

She looks at you in shock. "Harry! You... you... you're awake!"

She almost tackles you out of your bed with the hug she grants you. Her hand runs through your hair, and you realize now that it was much, much longer than it was when you went to school this morning. You also notice that Illya seems a bit, ah... older than she was when she had given you the array. You feel her crying onto your shoulder, mumbling.

"Illya..." you ask, "How long was I asleep for?"

"Three months," she says between sobs, "The doctors weren't... I'm sorry! This was all my fault! If I hadn't used lined paper like that, you wouldn't have...!"

You...

"Illya, it's alright." You give the girl a pat on the back to reassure her. "Its only been a couple of months. That means its nearly Christmas! And thanks to your alchemy, I just finished getting the greatest Christmas present ever!"

Illya sniffles. "It... it worked?"

"Yeah!" you say. It hurts to be so excited - probably because you haven't moved twelve weeks. "Though its not exactly a happy Origin." You look away. "Then again, I'm not exactly the most cheerful person around, so maybe its appropriate."

"Oh don't say that," Illya's scolding is weaker than it normally is. "Besides, your Origin can't be all that bad, can it? I mean, it's not like its death or anything!"

There is a long an awkward pause where Illya looks at you pleadingly, expecting you to deny it any minute now. The joking laugh on her face slowly becomes hollowed, until it is truly a ghastly expression of shock and self disbelief.

You can't help but chuckle.

"Oh God, that was..." Illya turns a bright red in shame.

"Insensitive?" You fill in. "Tactless? Crass?"

"Ha. Ha. Ha..."

Eh, fair enough. I just thought that (for now, anyway) we can revel in the silliness of the earlier books and combine it with the inherent wackiness of the Nasuverse for something silly, filtered through /tg/'s mild misanthropy.

The minute you introduce MEoDP, though, things have a VERY strong tendency towards powerlevel chicanery, morbid themes, and shortened lifespans. I just found it a bit strange, for early book HP.

Ah, who am I kidding? It'll be jolly cooperation and giggles through and through!

>>24174024
>Neither can live while the other survives, anon. Harry HAS to die to stop everyone's favorite Magical Snake Nazi

Oh shit. Is Voldemort Pic related? Is Harry Ciel?

Oh, Robe and Wizard hat. Another very good blend of the silly and the horrific. Plus, some interesting ideas, too: Rider as a pure goddess? Cu Culainn and Caster being an awesome magical tag-team due to being descendants of Solar Deities? Shirou literally becoming a hero immortalized in the memory of the human race?
>>
>>24174096
Actually, we would be Shiki 3.0, and not really. I mean is Powergirl just Superman 2.0? Just having the same powerset doesn't make you the same character.

>>24174124
No, because Roa could die while Ciel lived but not vice versa. That's why Ciel's True End is a thing.

>Origin Wand

When it comes to spells that could be defined as causing death in some way a wand like that could be equal to the elder wand. For spells that can't be defined like that it would probably be as ineffective using a wand that hasn't recognized you as its master.

"Illya..." You say, shifting yourself upright. "Let's go for a walk."

You turn, thumping along as you move your legs for what feels like the first time in months... rather, what was the first time in months. That's going to throw you off your game for a while, you imagine. Illya worries over you as you try to stand, helping you up, but looking more than a bit confused.

"Harry, the nurses locked us in for the night," she says. "We can't exactly leave the room until the morning..."

You point at the hole you made in the wall.

Illya blinks. Illya rubs her eyes. Illya blinks once more.

"Harry, what did you do?" Her tone is... less than pleased.

"I used Origin magic!" you say. "Uh, I think anyways. Ever since I woke up, everything's been covered with these jagged looking red lines. I saw them in my coma too; I think they're the border between life and death, or something like that."

Illya looks intrigued. "Huh. Mama hasn't taught me anything like that before - but everyone's Origin is unique, so weird things are to be expected."

With her holding you steady, you take your first steps on wobbly knees, passing through the hole in the wall to the Hospital's courtyard. Illya follows you closely, but pauses for a moment after the two of you are outside. She claps her hands, as if in prayer, and her arms seem to light up with a magical array.

"Hold on," she says, laying her hands upon the fallen bricks. "But its probably best if this gets patched up - it would lead to the nurses asking questions, which would be bad."

THe bricks seem to melt, their mass flowing like a river back into the shape they had held before your killed the wall. After a moment, the glowing stops, and the wall looks no different than before you used your new powers. Well, almost no different - the line has changed. For all its similarity, it is not the wall that was.

You...

Y'know, that's something Tsukihime never really went into detail on, but it's interesting. In theory, we could memorize the location and shape of a specific line on someone's body, and use that line to identify magical impostors.

So, since we're Kiri's apprentince and all, how about we try hitting the lines with a bullet? Given how Sectumsempra's pretty much Snape's personal spell, there's not good odds that we'll find it.

I want to do this first, if only to increase Magical Knowledge Stats

>>Tell Illya about the vision you saw.
Nothing says Nasuverse like heart-to-hearts with people we care about while recovering from dangerous medical issues.

Why not share?
>>
>>24174720
All we need to do is either
A: Last long enough to reach Year Six and make sure to grab the crummy beat up potions book.
or B: Be different enough from James "I torment emo kids for jollies" Potter that Snape stops hating us.
>>
We would be better off with Diffindo than Septumsempra. Septumsempra causes random cuts all over the body, Diffindo cuts precisely where you aim it (and is taught in your second year at Hogwarts.
>>
>>24174809
Septumsempra cuts where you aim it too. Harry used it and slashed at Malfoy like he was using a sword and it make one long slash. Snape was implied to have good accuracy with it too, but the battle in the air made aiming difficult and he hit the ear of Fred/George. (I forget which)
>>
>>24174661
That... is extremely cool.

yeah, that would make sense. The death of a living thing would be unique, after all.

Isn't it also true that a thing's Death is rooted to its Origin? Since those things all tie back to the Root and all that define a soul?
>>
>Death Perception
Depth Perception

Hah
>>
>>24174809
Actually, if memory serves the "random cuts all over" thing was only in the movie. From what I can remember, the difference is best explained like this:
Diffindo is a knife, a tool, you use it to cut things, and you can also use it to fight should the need arise.
Sectumsempra is a sword. It has one purpose, and that's to gut a motherfucker like a god damn fish.
>>
Just finished reading, and I feel that MEoDP is too limiting to be interesting, mostly because of its ability range. While it is hax and all, it starts and ends as cutting things in half, which kinda conflicts with the Casterish tone of HP. Even at E rank, we're already cutting walls in half, and only goes up from there. Personally, I'd have preferred another Origin, but even if we stick to Death, there are a number of other ways to spin that.
>>
Guys we were unconscious for 3 months surrounded by Nasuverse Crazies who all want the best for us and we had just awakened our origin.

Who's to say we didn't get Ribbed?
>>
>>24174906
I just looked it up and it turns out I had always misinterpreted what the spell did. Diffindo will definitely do until we can learn it though.

>>24174909
Yeah I really hope we come up with other things our origin helps with and only use our mystic eyes as a trump card.
>>
>>24174906
Sectumsempra is also Dark magic, which means it will never heal properly, even with magic.

Im afraid for the levels of god we just indirectly gave voldemort to compete with us.

Another thought: How is the nasuverse on necromancy?
>>

>>Ask Illya what you missed in the months that you were in a coma.

Interesting, we unkilled the wall?

Origin:Death May be the best secret prize for not time skipping ever
>>
>>24175003
The main thing with necromancy in nasuverse is Dead Apostles and any research that leads to that is a great way to get the Church and Clock Tower to come down on you like a ton of bricks.
>>
>>24175003
It definitely exists, but if IIRC, practicing it will guarantee getting your ass hunted down by Mage Killers or the Church.

"Huh..." you say, somewhat mystified by Illya's apparent resurrection of the wall. She almost skips over to you and links her arm in yours, and you begin to walk around the courtyard. "I had hoped I didn't miss anything much while I was out, but that doesn't seem to be the case. What... what was that?"

"That," Illya chirps playfully, "was a Mystery. Capital M, the sort that gets weaker the more people who know how to work it. It's one of the von Einzbern family's Alchemies - a particularly simple transmutation. I can do it because Mama is a Homunculus." She chuckles. "I'm a bit of an anomaly, having some homunculus traits from mama and some normal human traits from papa."

She smiles. "Enough homunculus to inherit some of mama's spells, enough of a human to receive the Emiya Crest from papa, that's me!"

"Family crest?" You ask. "I think I remember your dad telling me about those. I wonder if I'll be able to pass this weird vision of mine to any of my children..." You shake your head. "This whole thing is weird. The dream I had in the coma, it was like I couldn't decide if I existed or not. I was just floating through the universe."

"Papa said Origin Magic was like that, yeah..." Illya trails off.

"So..." you say. "Did anything big happen while I was gone."

"Well," Illya said. "I think Hermione is trying to seduce Dr. Zelretch." She blanches. "Worse, I think it may have worked. She said something about him giving her 'a stick'..."

"How do you know that she tried to seduce him?" you ask. "I mean, even if they have been spending extra time with one another, couldn't she just be asking him about his proofs? I mean, for all you know, Dr. Zelretch is really a Magus and he's taken Hermione as his apprentice."

"That's absurd - Papa would have told me if he was a Magus. And beside," Illya frowns, "she's been making lovey dovey eyes at him for nearly six weeks now, like mama and papa make at eachother." She frowns. "And then ever since she 'got the stick' she's been coming back home late, with her clothes and hair all messed up."

"Yeah, about that," you begin, "What does a stick have to do with seduction? I mean, I guess if they're kissing alot she might get he hair and clothes messed up, but what's a stick got to do with that?"

Illya turns the brightest shade of red.

"I... ach... gah..." she can't really choke out many words. "Right... you've been in a coma... you haven't been subject to those horrors just yet." She looks away. "Health class. Just... just... reproduction. That's all. Ask Mr. Dayne for remedials on it." Her gaze is a thousand yards away. "Or better yet, don't. After that class, I couldn't find the courage to hug Hermione for a week. And I never knew that ear nibbling was so..." She shudders. "The things mama and papa did to make me... I'd have rather clung to the delusion of being made in a laboratory out of their hair and magic circuits, thanks..."

"And the stick...?" you ask.

Illya breaths deep, a bright red. Faster than she's ever spoken before, she blurts out "THE STICK IS HIS-"

Unfortunately, the last word was interrupted by a crash, something colliding with the hospital at a high speed. Over towards the west hall, back near your room, dust is rising and the wall has been broken down.

"So..." you turn to Illya.

"So..." Illya looks back at you.

You contemplate for a moment that lovely way which her hair and her eyes contrast with one another. You then contemplate your reason for contemplating your best friend's looks in that sort of light. You then contemplate the possibility that it might well be contemplation all the way down, before realizing that no, that would be stupid. You do, after all, have an explosion to run (or, in your case, hobble) the hell away from.

"Hows about we not be here, now?" you say, doing your best to drag Illya in the opposite direction of the explosion.

"Yeah, hows about that," Illya releases herself from your grip and grabs at your legs, picking you up bridal style, running far faster than your atrophied legs could hobble. You really ought not be suprised that the girl is a lot stronger than she looks, considering who her father is, but you are.

Unfortunately, however fast she is, whatever that thing was is a hell of a lot faster. It is on the pair of you in a flash, its maw writhing in hunger. If you didn't know any better - wait, actually, considering that you have magic, you really don't. Yeah, you're pretty damned sure this thing is some sort of werewolf. It has a powerful build, as if someone had taken someone as fit as Mr. Kiritsugu, and gave them Heracles' fur and maw.

Its mouth opens to roar, but it is blasted back by a kaleidiscopic blast of light.

"HOLD, FOUL BEAST OF THE NIGHT!" The voice of a girl says. Something whispers in the back of your mind that this isn't Hermione Granger, which is odd, because you didn't think it was. "The Heroine of Love and Justice, KALEIDO-PINK, has come to put an end to your evil!"

The thing roars, preparing to run at the newcomer.

Harry Potter, master of the blatantly obvious!

So harry is starting to discover that Illya is pretty, Illya is carrying Harry bridal style (Too adorable!), Hermoine is a magical girl, and our little posse is being hunted by werewolves.

>For Future Reference, MEoDP use your Martial Art (Capioera, in your case) as its skill rating. Hitting the target roll is 1 line cut, and every 1 below the target is an additional line cut. Every line cut is a wound dealt. At the moment, you require a sharp implement to use this ability; Improvised implements are not necessarily readily available, and break after use.

[Skill Rating (Capioera): 9]
[Penalties: -2 (Atrophy)]
[Target: 7 | Best Roll: 7]
[SUCCESS! Lines Cut: 1]

You act suprisingly fast for someone fresh out of a coma. You see the jagged lines dancing along the skin of the beast, waiting to be cut; but there are no implements. You grab at the ground, the sharpest thing you can find - a particularly pointy stick is the best nature can give you. You flail out wildly, cutting at one of the lines near the creature's rear.

The stick plunges into the line, and you just barely manage to trace it. As you yank it back, it crumbles, itself collapsing dead from the stress of being used to recreate the death of something. With a resounding snicker-snack, the line is destroyed, and the peeled reality rejoins with itself.

And then the beast's tail is lopped off.

"Harry," Illya stammers out, "what... what was that? Was that how you broke the..."

There is no time to answer, as the beast is upon you once more. Fortunately, so is Not!Hermione. Her frilly pink form collides with the beast, slamming it into one of the Hospital walls. She weilds a pink and gold baton with a winged heart on one end, holding it like one might a sword.

"Pink," she says, "Find a me that can fight this thing!"

"Awww, but this you is so much fun~!" The... stick?... intones. "But alright, if you insist. Kaleidoscope Engaged..."

The wolf man stirs from the rubble.

"Disassembling Archetype..."

The wolf man rises, howling at the full moon.

"Searching for Requested Make Up..."

The wolf man braces itself, ready to charge...

"Found! Reassembling Personality Profile!"

It pounces. There is a flash of light.

The dust of the reassembly clears, and Not!Hermione has the wounded beast in a headlock. Something is... off about her - gone is the girl whom had played the part of Illya's favorite chew toy those three months ago. Gone is the book lover whom you had only just met. Perhaps it is the spikey golden hair she is now sporting. Perhaps it is the sadistic green eyes, smirking at the wolf man. Or perhaps it is the muscles that would put any body builder to shame.

"Heh," Not!Hermione chuckles. "Not bad, wolf man, you've got yourself a bit of muscle on you. You're almost as strong as that six year old girl I sparred with just last week." She lifts the hairy beast bodily. "Almost a match for a girl I defeated in seven seconds flat. Lets see if you last any longer!"

The beast is thrown across the courtyard, and Not!Hermione isn't far behind.

You turn back to Illya.

"Sorry, what?" You ask.

"No, seriously," she continues. "What the heck was that? A stick shouldn't be able to due that to a were-anything, not as dull as it was. Did you learn super reinforcement in that zen dreamland you were in, or what?"

You shrug.

"Honestly, I have no idea," you reply. "Ever since I got out of the coma, I've been seeing all these weird lines all over everything. When I trace them with something - or maybe its cut along them - whatever that line belonged to dies, or has a part of itself die." You rub your chin. "Maybe more complex things have more lines, or something like that."

"I've..." Illya frowns. "I've never heard of anything like that. We should probably go to papa, he might know something." She looks over to the wolf man, whom Not!Hermione is merrily engaged in pugilism with. "I think Not!Hermione has got this..."

Not!Hermione seems like she's having waaaaay too much fun with this. "Illya, Not!Hermione's a friend, we can't just abandon her to..." You take a quick gander over to her and the werewolf. Both of whom are now engaged at a pace that would make even a skilled martial artists weep with envy. "Ah, maybe you do have a point, she does seem to have the beast well in hand. I'm sure our presence would make little difference, and discovering the nature of my Origin would be much more beneficial."

Illya nods, happy that you have seen her wisdom. To the sound of fighting, you retreat back in to the Hospital, and through its dark and empty hallways to the front door. It strikes you as odd that there isn't even any nursing staff roaming around the building, but you don't really think to question it. There are actually several things you don't think to question - such as the brooms, which you swear move every time you look away from them, or the carts of medical supplies that seem to do the same.

Once your outside, you turn around to take a look at whatever hospital this was. The sign is old and homey, and it reads "St. Mungos Discretionary Care Center."

"Discretionary care center?" you ask to yourself.

"Yeah, that's what I thought too," Illya says. "I think your parents may have been in the same line of work as papa, only without magecraft. Some benefactor recommended it to your relatives for your care." She shook her head. "Papa doesn't like it though. But he doesn't like anything Aunty Maiya can't break in to."

The rest of the walk back to Illya's place is mostly silent, though you did finally discover what the stick was. You knock on the door, and to no one's suprise Kiritsugu was already there, armed and waiting to make sure it wasn't an intruder. He beckons the two of you in, and puts some tea on. "Welcome home Illya, Harry," Kiritsugu smiles as he hands you the tea. It is terrifying. "I do hope that the two of you have learned something important from this experience of yours. I was very disappointed to learn that you attempted to open yourself to your Origin in an uncontrolled environment. A coma isn't exactly light, but there were worse things that could have happened." He looks at the two of you expectantly. "Well, what have you learned?"

You look at Illya. Illya nods at you.

"To always ensure that the variable in the process of spellcasting are minimized when experimenting with the metaphysical," Illya declares.

"That my Origin is the Death of Things," you say at the same time, "and that through it I can break the boundary between life and death."

Illya turns to you in shock. "Harry, that's not what..."

Kiritsugu starts to laugh. His daught looks at him in utmost terror - her father only laughs on very few occasions: serious talks such as this are not one of them. Something is clearly bothering him.

"Dad, what's wrong?" she asks.

You follow up. "Does it have anything to do with these notes? Or the werewolf that attacked the hospital."

Kiritsugu nods. "Yes to the notes. No to the werewolf, though that he wasn't secure during his transformation is troubling." He shakes his head, and takes a sip of tea. "Tell me, Harry, do you know what it was that your parents did for a living when they were alive?"

Maybe there wasn't a HGW.
All we really know is that this quest uses the Nasuverse for magic, and Harry Potter is the MC. For all we know, Hogwarts might not exist, or the clocktower might not exist. One might replace the other, or both of them cold be crammed into the same building.
We might go through the events of Tsukihime, as there's only suppose to be only one person with the MEoDP, and this means neither Shiki has them.
We pretty much have no fucking clue where this is going, and we're just rolling with it. Not that there's a problem with that.

>>
>>24178531
Well, technically Shiki's eyes aren't 'true' MEoDP. He's got his family's mystic eyes that let him understand things he sees, which was developed to fight monsters.

When he literally died and Akiha brought him back, he saw death and his Eyes understood it for him. Its why he can't turn them off like the 'true' Eyes, and why the Mystic Eye Killers are losing effectiveness - his eyes aren't the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, and they're adapting to the MEK by understanding what they do.

I might have to do some fact doublechecking with this, but I'm pretty sure that this is how it is.

"Well, the Dursleys always told me that they were drunken layabouts," you tell him. "Illya seems to think that they were assassin's or the like. I honestly don't know."

"Good answer," he says, "because I have no idea who they were or what they did. Your mother, at least, had a birth certificate filed properly, but I can't say the same about your father. They were close to being valid, but close doesn't mean that they actually were. It's as though they lived in a completely separate world - even Magi don't go that far." He looks almost... wistful? "Did you know that your birth certificate was a forgery? Probably not, but that would be a hell of a lot of trouble to go through for a kid too young to be a spy."

"You... dug up some things on my parents?" you ask. "Even if they were fakes, what did those reports say they did?"

"Well, by the forgeries, your father was a detective," he said, "and your mother was a psychologist. Digging deeper though, no one remembers seeing them on the job, every case they worked with is conveniently deceased, and further back than that first job, they have no history whatsoever."

"That... is weird." Yup, that's pretty much the perfect summary you can think of.

"And then there are these," he says, gesturing to the parchments, "Every turn you took for the better or worse, an owl of all things delivered this to your relatives. They threw them out, of course, but its just one anomaly after another dealing with this 'benefactor' of your parents." He picks up the note on top of the file.

Gotta say, the idea that there could be Magi AND Wizards living completely separately from one another is highly amusing. Imagining that conversation...

"Seriously, yelling latin at things and waving a wand?"

"Well, yeah. That's how magic works! Wait... how do YOU do magic?"

"Uh, I DON'T do Magic. If I could do Magic, I'd be running the Clock Tower or something by now. I'm just a magus."

"A clock what? And a magus? Isn't that the same thing?"

"Oh god. What are you, new?"

"My family is a proud lineage of wizards, I'll have you know! Not a muggle in the whole tree!"

"...not a what?"

And so on.

>Accept his invitation and ask about the werewolf.
>Accept his invitation and ask about your eyes.

Both of these. Knowing about the eyes would be useful, along with figuring out how to turn them off.

And that werewolf might come back at any time, who the hell knows.

Knowing things is good!

"Thanks, Mr. Kiritsugu," you say, "I'd be happy to stay the night."

"Yay!" Illya cheers. "We're gonna have a slumber party! We'll watch lots of movies, eat lots of popcorn, stay up late, cuddle under the sheets! And in the morning, we can make pancakes! Giant stacks of pancakes!" A fire lights up her eyes, and she looks like she could bounce off the walls.

"No." Kiritsugu says.

"But papa..."

"Think about what you just said," he says, "and then think about Health Class."

Illya turns pale.

"Understand?" He asks.

Illya nods. There is a haunted look in her eyes, like the veterans of a long war come home. She trembles for a moment, suppressing the thoughts that had arisen.

"Um, papa," she asks, "can we at least watch movies?"

"Yes," he says, "But you need to get into your pajamas first. And no popcorn."

Illya dashes upstairs.

Huh, you think to yourself. So this is what a real family is like, one that doesn't lock away the freak of their nephew in the cupboard under the stairs. You fervently hope that when you grow up, you'll be able to have a family like the von Einzberns. Which reminds you, you do need to grow up, first.

"So," you begin, "what was with that werewolf? What was he doing, rampaging about in a hospital?"

"He was actually a patient," Kiritsugu says, "A man by the name of Remus Lupin; he's kind of like your father in many respects, though his identity goes back further. Maybe it involved the Soviet and their experiments, or the Americans." He sighs. "Good enough fellow, though - works at a book store in London, always takes the full moon off; St. Mungo's probably has a room meant that can keep him contained when he transforms."

Befor you can ask about you eyes and your newfound sight, Illya comes running down the stairs in her pajamas. It's a bear hooded overall, and it has to be one of the most adorable things that you've ever seen.

"Harry~!" She tackles you. "What do you want to watch?"

We have Shiki eyes? Oh hell yeah. We fucking win against most anything if we get within melee range now. But ONLY if we get within melee range. I love this power because it is intrinsically balanced. A firing squad will end you for sure, but one on one? You win, because you "kill" all of his/her attacks.

You see, that's something that Harry doesn't have that the Shiki's had. Ryougi was heiress to a demon hunter clan and had mad sword skills. Tohno had the subliminal assassin crud.

Harry has the basic foundations of Capioera, and will likely continue to develop his magecraft. He cannot cut at the speed of plot. His eyes, while a boon, are not a button that says "I win".

But they will become one OP, they will become one. Such a power, in the hands of a logical man, will become an "I Win" button given time.

I keep on telling people it's not an "overpowered" power, even if I say it'd enable you to kill Servants, because of the melee restriction. Hell, even if you have a sniper rifle, you have to hit that one point from a great distance. Once you go beyond a certain point, the wind will make you miss. Let alone things like the Coriolis effect. Seeing the lines of death and being able to execute on that knowledge are two very, VERY, different things. If only people understood that...

Ah Kotomine. I do hope to show you that to REJOICE is not the best path from a truly amoral, logical, practical perspective. Morals do serve a cold, logical purpose. Humanity would not exalt a policy that would lead to their own extinction after all...
>>
>>24180214
Wait a minute.
I just thought of something.
Andre the Giant as a Servant.
What class would he be?
>>
>>24180238
Berserker? He doesn't really fit into any of the knight-classes since he doesn't use a weapon.
I'm all for getting Harry interested in Pro Wrestling, though. Suplexing Death Eaters all day every day.
>>
>>24180238
I do hope we don't end up as a master in a grail war here. I mean, it is essentially guaranteed that we will. But I would love it if OP threw a curve ball on us on that one. It can still happen, but maybe we ain't a master. Yet we want Illya or someone else to win for some reason or another. How do we deal with that? Why do we even bother? So much to the Nasuverse, so little time to lay it all out. I just want to see a story in this setting that doesn't revolve around a Grail War more than the other aspects. This quest might deliver, so I hang around.
>>
>>24180311
A grail war means that either Irisviel or Illya will become a vessel, which is Not Okay.

The Pathos!
>>
>>24180336
I sure as hell hope not. I like them both, would hate to see them die so that Angry Manjew can fuck the world over...
>>
>>24180391
Angry Manjew was never summoned during the Third War. That's the big thing that's different about this universe. We don't know what else has been affected to cause Kerry & family to have moved to Surrey, though.
>>
>>24179909
Oh god we all wanted to murder Lupin...

>Flash Gordon, Defender of Earth
>>
>>24180412
So far as we know. Kerry, if he could have helped it, would have never allowed anyone in his family to become the vessel of the grail. Read the manga that makes Illya a "Magical Girl". I can't remember the name off the top of me head, but it exists. She gets a stick, she becomes a magical girl, hilarity ensures. Then grimdark comes into play...
>>
>>24180469

The manga is Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya. Despite being about Illya as a magical girl it still heaps in plenty of drama into an absurdist premise.

Pathos, my beloved, will rear her head, if Nrvnqsr;Chaos is going for a similar tone, and it seems he may be with the Hermoine business.

>A man by the name of Remus Lupin;

I’m not dangerous, and I’m not homeless... anymore. My name is Remus Lupin, and I’m your new Defence Against the Darks Arts teacher, and that so called candy lady was a Death Eater. And she was about two seconds away from killing you, your little friend and his pet night troll.
>What’s a Death Eater? What is that?
It’s a servant of You-Know-Who. I figured a few of them might show up when they learned that Harry Potter was headed to Hogwarts. They can be real hard-ass dickheads. What the hell’s the matter with you guys? Oh, shit! You guys are kids! Gotta watch my damn mouth around you little bastards. I’m sorry. Shoot. Gotta watch my damn mouth around you little bastards.

I can lay out why your plans were wrong in the other quest we are involved in. Tech Route was best route. You fucked up, and it will come back to bite us. You trusted QB, that is never, EVER, the path to a happy ending. But I shall show you on Friday. Ya done goofed. I will spell it out to why on that day...
>>
>>24180866

I use the best tools available. Its not trust, its proper utilization. But we shall see if you are vindicated, or if I was in the right all along.
>>
>>24180912
You tipped our hand to all who were watching before any team had yet to bite the dust. His audience foolishly agreed with you. You fail at grail war mechanics. Information is the most vital thing you must not ever reveal. Your plan involved revealing said info. Tomoko, an anime otaku, will figure out who and what our servant is/was. We will die shortly. After all, if you knew that X had QB as a servant, you'd kill them ASAP. Why? Because you don't trust QB, EVER!!! If your ally cold summoned him, you wouldn't trust him either.

>>
>>24181088

Fair enough, you have a point.
>>
>>24181094
It is always entertaining. I participate in quests for that reason. I wish to see how the "GM" will react to our recommendations. We could kill Illya's destiny as a vessel now. We could negate Kerry's worries. Why? Because we like her, hell, maybe Harry loves her. He doesn't want her to die! Mystic Eyes of Death Perception... A most wonderful power...
>>
>>24181184

I believe you see how I look at things, friend.
>>
>>24181234
I said it before, you and I think in very similar terms. The difference is, I like being moral, you don't. I see morality as being very logical, you don't. We think along the same lines, you and I. We just don't carry our thoughts to the same conclusions...
>>
>>24181305

Ha, well, its toned down a bit here. I do not think a ten year old should act amorally or even be capable of doing so. So don't worry about that.

Don't mind me, just here for the yuetsu.
>>
>>24181426
And I agree. A 10 year old isn't capable of going full on amoral, practical Nasuverse magus mode. But one day he will. I argue that full on amorality isn't the most "practical" route. People should know that Harry keeps his word, that he values his own deals. Remember, a truly logical "evil overlord" saves the lives of the enemies that saved his own. Why? Because it encourages others to do likewise...

Serious question:
Are Americans seriously traumatized by sex ed in school?

My biggest issue in elementary school on that topic was that I didn't understand the physical reality of it all, because the boner of a pre-puberty child is not a real boner and would never be able to penetrate anything.

Then again, I skipped a lot of stuff in classes 5 and 6 and I think there was one week with sex ed in between or something.
I did go there in class seven (or was it 8?), though, where we got free condoms (and had to try putting a condom onto a woodden figure) and got information about STDs and contraceptives and myths on contraception.
>>
I vote that rather than traumatized, we're fine after being taught, but when we next see Ilya we suddenly flashback to all the games we've played together that are totally innocent for young children. Then we turn crimson and lose the ability to speak for a bit.
