The year doesn't matter, and you are the Devourer.
Your tunnelling arms drilled forth, burrowing into the delicious rock, seeking platinum, iron, and nickel. Your stomach churned up the spare rock, reprocessing it into hyperdense fullerite carbon weave and integrating it into your body. You clung to the asteroid, looking around at the rest of the belt.
Everything here was silent. You couldn't even hear the murmurs of a sapient being.
Which is exactly as you wanted it.
Within your upper abdomen, your specially-designed organs started churning, running multiple experiments- particle, chemical, electromagnetic- simultaneously, the powerful radiation doing no harm to your structure.
You needed to prepare.
You needed to learn.

You suddenly snapped up, rubbing at your eyes- apparently you'd fallen asleep. The timer on Manus's desk buzzed- classes were over for the day.
Einstein was in the corner, connected to your omnitool, and you could always check his data.
Manus cleared his throat, and got to his feet.
"Heather, we got some special sensors for you to wear." He said, as everyone else started to file out. He brought up a small box, and inside was a thin strap, designed to go around the neck, with small nodes built in. "This should let us see what's going on in your brain when you use psionics. It's much more portable than the EEG headsets."
>>

"Thanks." Put it on, and go get lunch.
>>

Reply to the message.

<yep!>
>>
"Thanks," You say, and put it on. It was a bit snug, but you could get used to it. You felt it start transmitting, and then you made your way to the cafeteria. You hadn't eaten enough during lunch, an hour and a half ago. There you see Rho and Epsil- Isaac, sitting there with a personacom. Rho was peeking over Eps- Isaac's shoulder, the two of them looking down at the screen.
"Have we tried this yet?"
"I don't think so." Rho said.
"Alright, pancakes it is." He said, and raised his hand toward the kitchen. Things inside of it started rustling around, moving themselves. Rho turned to you.
"Yo." She said. "You want some?"
>>
>>24128582
"Sure, why not. Thanks!"
>>
>>24128582
"Sure!"
>>
>>24128582
yes please.
>>
"Sure, why not. Thanks!" You say, and take a seat, while Isaac started making pancakes.
"Right now we're just trying out new things." Rho said, the small girl sitting on the table. Then she sighed, and frowned. "Did you hear? Sarvesh is better than me. At teleporting."
"No he isn't." The pale young man in the glasses said.
"He is! He can move things without touching them!" She said. "I can't do that at all!"
"But you can jump lightyears in a few moments."
"But I can't move anything *else*!" She said. "Not if I'm not touching them. It's not fair at all."
>>
>>24128656
"I think everyone's powers develop differently, but if you're upset about it, you could always ask to have things set up to practice moving other objects."
>>
>>24128656
"I think your teleporting is more impressive, but I'm sure you could learn to move things without touching them if you tried. Talk to the scientists about setting up some training, and maybe talk to Jilly, she helped me with distance a lot."
>>
>>24128722
Seconding.
>>
"I think your teleporting is more impressive," You say. "But I'm sure you could learn to move things without touching them if you tried. Talk to the researchers about setting up some training."
"I tried!" She said, exasperated, and frowned. "All weekend! The- the researcher was all 'oh yeah, they can do this, and that, now you try' and I couldn't do anything except move myself. All weekend."
"Maybe talk to Jilly. She helped me with distance a lot."
"The snake eel thing? Sure, I'll talk to it." She said. "Maybe its advice could help a little. What's it's... thing? It's power, I mean."
>>
>>24128786
"She's a nagala, and her specialization is telepathy."
Emphasize "She's"
>>
telepathy. both distance and in depth. She can transfer memories even, its pretty neat.
>>
>>24128786
"Telepathy mainly."
>>
Rolled 65

"HER power is telepathy, and mind reading; and she can also transfer thoughts so SHE and Sarvesh can possibly work together to teach you..."
>>
>>24128808
>>24128843
Is Jilly actually a she? I mean, we call her one but Nagala are genderless.
>>
>>24128866
She identifies as female, and it's rude to call a person an it.
>>
>>24128866
She self identifies as Female.
>>
Rolled 92

she identifies as female though, and she has breasts(even if we are aware that that is not neccecarily an indicator)

"*She*'s a nagala, and *her* specialization is telepathy." You say. "She can transfer memories even, it's pretty neat."
"It sounds neat." She said. "I want to go talk to her. I just need to find the Where..."
Rho tilted her head, then suddenly puffed into smoke, and vanished.

Isaac sighed, as three plates of hot pancakes came out of the kitchen.
"She entirely forgot I was making food." He said. "She does that."

With a flick of a finger, he skidded one of the plates to you.
>>
Rolled 67

>>24128890
"no problem, I'll eat hers."
>>
>>24128872
Rho's too adorable for it to be taken as rude. Like when she first met Sarvesh.
>>
>>24128890
"muha ha ha my evil plan worked now I get more pancakes"
>>
>>24128890
"More for the both of us, I suppose."
>>
>>24128901
That reminds me, a short while after she teleported away her cereal vanished as well. So she can teleport things without touching them? Clearly we need to make her really embarrassed again to tap into her inner power.
>>
"More for the both of us, I suppose." You say, and giggle, taking a fork to your pancakes. They were fluffy, but mostly flavorless.
"How are you feeling?" The young man asked- and you got the distinct impression that he was asking about if you'd be fit enough to help his other siblings. He took a fork to his own pancakes. "Because I know where Theta likely is. We can't exactly stop him very easily, but if we surprised him..."

"I'm feeling fine, but I'm still on these pills." You say. "I can manage simple things like disabling it at short range, and I was planning on gorging all day, getting a long sleep, and trying the iso chambers in the morning."
"Iso chambers? Isolation? That might help," He said.
"How long do you think Theta will be where he is?"
"Maybe a few days." Isaac said. "They have him amplifying their phaeron production."
"And what was his power again?"
"He can, um, manipulate... well, organic bodies. Heal people, change their skin color, instant-transgene someone... I've seen him create an animal before. I have a feeling that he'll be the most problematic, though."

>>
>>24129222
no, he has transmutation, summer has manifestation big difference
>>

What? No he's not. He uses the same ability we created The Devourer with except he doesn't suck as much as we do.

drawing on this for the comparison

he's like summer AND a biomancer at the same time. and guys, if you have a better suggestion I'll support that and abandon mine
>>
>>24129298
>Phaeron is made by an algae converting hydrogen, nitrogen, and sunlight. Phaeron gas is the byproduct.

"Biopathy?" You ask, and shiver.
Isaac nodded.
"He won't create creatures to attack us, though, because he's no good at it," He said. "Instead he'll mess with, well, our emotions and hormones. It's not mental, though, just physical. But it's still... problematic. I remember the time I pissed him off."
He shivered, and shook his head. "It gets impossible to focus like that."
>>
>>24129222
>"if you haven't then find him and try and give him a TK shove and see what happens..."
If you haven't met Alex, he's... um, he's immune to psionics."
>>
>>24129324

"so how do you suggest we surprise him?"
>>
"So how do you suggest we surprise him?"
"Dress up like Armatek employees," He said. "He won't notice until we get too close. We'd need Rho to steal the uniforms, though. We just plain walk onto their farm dressed up, and he'll be too focused on the algae banks to notice until we've disabled his implant."

"I think we can work around his power. Have you met Alex yet?"
"No?"
"He's, um, he's immune to psionics."
"Entirely?" Isaac asked, and you nod.
The young man froze- and then shook his head. and chuckled. "Well, nobody can be immune to telekinesis. At least not if an object is thrown at him by proxy."
>>
>>24129483

"oh he has done that too..."

at least if i remember, we threw something at him and the moment it hit him it fell harmlessly to the floor.
>>

"I'm pretty sure I tried that."
>>
>>24129324

>>24129483
I'm not sure if thats been tested yet. but go ahead and give it a try if he lets you. but he won't be with us for much longer he's leaving soon. suppose we distract your brother long enough for alex to walk up and zap him with a tazer?
>>
>>24129483
"You'd think that, but you'd be wrong."
>>
>>24129483

>>
>>24129483
"The moment the object touches him, the TK disappears and the object just falls to his feet."
>>
>>24129483
"The momentum disappears. He's just that obstinate."
>>
"You'd think that, but you'd be wrong. I threw something at him, and the moment it hit him, it fell harmlessly to the floor."
"... I'm not even going to ask how that's possible." Isaac said. "But then again, none of this really has a reason why it's possible, so..."
He shrugged, and reached for Rho's plate- just as she reappeared, with Jilly alongside her. Jilly twitched, looking around.
"Um. Hello?" Jilly said. Rho tore a pancake in half and gave it to her.
"Hello." Isaac said.
>>
>>24129594
"Hi Jilly. So, I presume you helped Rho then?"
>>
>>24129594
"He demanifests things just by touching them, completely takes the oomph out of anything given potential energy by telekinesis, and trying to telepath him is like trying to get past a frictionless sphere.
One time Summer manifested a pizza. When Alex picked up a slice, it exploded into rotten tomatoes, sour milk, grain, and a live pig.

Problem is, he's never been able to control it, and now he's convinced he never will. He feels this place can't really help him, and he wants to leave. Only reason he hasn't so far is because they're still building that device that will shield him from Void Queen."
>>
>>24129594
(nonchalant)
"hi jilly, how's your day been going?"
>>
>>24129594
"Hi. Nice of you to drop in."
>>
>>24129594

"Jilly! are you still in one piece!?" turn to Rho "no offense."
>>
"Hi, Jilly. So, I presume you helped Rho, then?"
"She just babbled on about semantics." Rho said. "It didn't help me much. But I like her!"
Jilly flashed yellow and grinned.
"Hi Jilly. How's your day been going?"
"It's been rather uneventful." Jilly said, eating the pancake.

You turn to Isaac again. "He demanifests things just by touching them, completely takes the oomph out of anything given potential energy by telekinesis, and trying to telepath him is like trying to get past a frictionless sphere."
"That just sounds so... familiar, somehow." The albino in glasses said. "It's strange..."

"Are you talking about Alex?" Jilly asked. Rho suddenly pouted.
"I can't believe I destroyed his.. gizmo. I feel so bad about it."
>>
>>24129703
"Familiar how?"
>>
>>24129703
"Familiar how?"
"That was just a device that protects from the effects of Void Queen. He was having it built so that he could leave."
>>
>>24129703
don't fret about that rho, we can rebuild it, we have the technology!

>I'm beginning to think that Alex is the reason that lambda cannot see this place.
>>
>>24129703

don't feel bad, we can repair it or make a new one.
>>
>>24129703
"It wasn't even finished yet. They're not hard to make, don't worry about it."
"What's familiar about it?"

>She just babbled on about semantics.
Oh Rho. You have to be less logical if you're going to break physics with your mind. Embrace the bullshit.
>>
"It wasn't even finished yet." you say. "They're not hard to make, don't worry about it."
"That's what he said." She said. "Doesn't mean I can't feel bad."

You turn to Isaac. "What's familiar about it?" you ask.
"I'm not sure." He said. "Like.. deja vu or something."
He shrugged, and stabbed your pancakes with a fork, stealing one.

>>
frown.

Hey Jilly apparently I can't remember meeting Alex's parents at all. and yet according to Elly I did. do you think you could help with that?
>>
>>24129799
Fuck fuck fuck.
We don't know what alex's parents do.
We cant seem to remember any of our early psionic nonsense.
Alex seems to be lying about not remembering things- He claims to not remember the car and cliff event, but immediately guessed what we were doing in the car, and where we were going.
Any bets on all this being connected to the people who made our new friends?
>>
"Hm, if you're willing, maybe Jilly could poke around in your head and unearth the memory?"
"I uh... I'm not sure I'm okay with the idea of someone in my mind. No offense intended, Jilly."
"None taken." Jilly said, and flashed yellow, shooting him a smile.
"Hey Jilly," You say. "Apparently I can't remember meeting Alex's parents at all, and yet according to Elly, I did. Do you think you could help with that?"
"I could try." She said.
>>
Hey guys, I know you will probably crucify me for saying this but I want to discuss it anyway :
We should help Alex find another girl. I can't help but feel sorry for him. We should make it up to him somehow.
Now let the stoning begin
>>
>>24129977
do it.
>>
>>24129979
No time for husbando problems, PLOT! is afoot. Maybe later.
>>
>>24129977
Let's give that a go. I'm seeing some red flags here.
>>
>>24129979
that depends on whether or not he's an evil sleeper agent
>>
>>24129929
This is actually a pretty good theory.

At least it's better than my "Alex is a master of every discipline of psionics, but subconsciously negates everything".
>>
>>24129979
Trying to find him another girl right away would just come across as us trying to pawn him off on someone to make Heather feel better, which is indeed what it would be.

Give him some time.
>>
>>24129977
Let's try it.
>>
>>24129977
to the outer limits!!
>>
>>24129977

we should probably ask Damien if it is safe for Jilly to root around in our head.

last time almost got us killed.

>>24129979

i just hope he'll find someone and be happy just as much as the rest of our friends.

for now give him time and just be the friend he deserves.
>>
>>24129979
I would only see this as a pity tactic, Alex may have his own share of problems but taking pity on him would just make him feel worse, let him get get through it on his own.
>>
>>24130080
definitely ask damien. Lets not go unleashing a possesed snake person on the station.
>>
>>24130080
Pretty sure that was directly related to the memory she was trying to view.
>>
You quickly message Damien, and you get an 'okay' back, so you turn to Jilly.
"Do it," You say.
"Okay," She said. "Close your eyes."
You close your eyes, and two clammy hands press themselves onto your temples. You feel something... rummaging around in your mind, delving deeply...

Your name was Heather, and you're currently riding in a car with two faceless people in the front seat. Alex sat on one side of you, and Ellie on the other. It was storming outside, and you Knew- more than you could know anything else- that the car was going to go careening off of a nearby cliff.

So, with a single thought... you stopped it.

Everything went blurry, and next thing you knew, you were standing in the rain next to Ellie, her holding an umbrella, as the two faceless figures spoke next to you.

They weren't speaking english, but that never mattered to you.
<Did you see that?> One faceless figure asked.
<She's one of them.>
<We can't stay here. What are we going to do about Alex?>
<The only thing we can do. Run.>
And then everything blurred again, and Jilly pulled her hands away.
"That's all I found." She said.
>>
>>24130124
new theory Alex is one of the engineered psions and his "parents" are disaffected Lab tech that stole him and ran.
>>
>>24130124
"Thanks. It just gets weirder and weirder."
>>
>>24130124

"they left because I'm "one of them"."
>>
>>24130124
well shit...it seems Alex is either not human or is into some real secretive stuff.

I say we confront Alex about this, see what he does...
>>
Did you recognize the langauge they used Jilly?
>>
>>24130124
"Alex's parents were hiding from someone?"

>>24130170
That's my guess. And they thought Heather was one of them, as well.
>>
>>24130178

we don't have to confront him, we could just tell him about it.

we have no reason to believe he's the bad guy here.
>>
"Thanks. It just gets weirder and weirder." You say, quietly.
"What, what is it?" Isaac asked.
"Alex's parents were hiding from someone?" You ask.
"Seems like it." Jilly said.
"Did you recognize the language they used, Jilly?"
"I couldn't, no." She said. "I'm not good with languages."
>>
>>24130236
Let's technopathy our memories of that into a movie and send it to Annas father and some linguists. Maybe someone can tell us what language that is.
>>
>>24130259
Einstein and Space!Google Translate might be enough.
>>
>>24130236
see if jilly can transfer the memory or language over to rho or isaac to see if they would recognize it.
>>
>>24130236
I think we should technopath the memory into some kind of file and then send it to Anna's father (don't know the name sry).
"It's weird that they knew about psionics."

Crystalizing the memory in your mind, you give the file to your omnitool. First you hit up the extranet, and you get an instant hit- they were speaking Latin.
"It's weird that they knew about psionics."
"It is." Jilly said, frowning. "But now I'm worrying about Alex. Maybe he has his power because of something they did?"

The food cubes are the Void Queen. She is terrible. She is legion. She is eternal. She is extremely nutritious.

Another thought - One of our parents worked for Armatek, and with asmodeus. Were we designed to be a psion?

heather was a science baby technically, seeing how both her parents are female
>>
>>24130374

we can show Alex the file, I'm more than a little worried about him now.

maybe that's one of the reasons why his parents keep in touch with him so much?
>>
>>24130374
"You mean like they made him a null?"
>>
"It seems likely." You say, as the omnitool continues running through various languages. "His power would be very useful to somebody running from psionics. And Isaac's feeling... maybe they were fleeing Armatek?"
"Maybe." Jilly said, tapping her chin with a hand.

"Who was fleeing Armatek? I'm confused." Rho said.
"Alex's parents." Jilly said.
"You mean like, they made him a null?"
"If they did, then they know a lot more than the UPA researchers do." Jilly said.
>>
I'm beginning to think Alex has full control over his null ability, and that it was something his parents taught him. Especially the way it seems to crack when his emotions get the better of him - That sort of thing points to the shield/whatever taking a lot of self-control, something he struggles to manage when stressing out over shit.

and the only thing they could get that knowledge from is .... Void Queen this could be really bad he could be in more danger than we though

>>
>>24130598
This seems more than likely. The question is, can we justify knowing (guessing) that in-character?
>>
>>24130608

Or Armatek. Or the demiurg maybe. Or some other research facility we don't know about.

>>24130569
why don't we go and ask him
>>
"We should probably talk to Alex about this." You say. "We will need his help, after all."
"I'll go grab him." Rho said, and vanished- then came back, pouting. "No I won't. He's on his way."

Alex came into the cafeteria, wearing a video-game-themed T-shirt, hands in his pockets. "Rho said that you guys had something important to talk to me about." He said.
>>
>>24130731
"That's right. Jilly just found that memory for me, take a look."
<Einstein, play it.>
>>
>>24130731
"Well if you don't mind we'd like to ask about your parents. Also we need your help with rescuing another brother of Rho and Isaac."
>>
Jilly helped me remember meeting your parents. Alex they knew what a psion was and when they found out i was one they said, in Latin for some reaons, that they had to run because of it.

Its possible that your abilities are because they were hiding from psions. What better way to do it then have someone who actively blocks their abilities!

He chuckled.

>>
"Are you sure?" You ask. "People lie, you know."
"Yeah, right, okay." Alex said. "So my parents are part of some kind of secret conspiracy, running from psychics or whatever, and they totally dragged me along and lied to me for my entire childhood for no good reason." He said, angrily. "Why would they lie? Why would they not tell me what was going on?"
>>
>>24131175
your the chosen one and they were protecting you!
>>
>>24131175
"Well, if they were running from...whoever...they probably wanted to keep you safe from whoever it was they were running from."
>>
>>24131175
"I don't know, Alex, but I am very curious, I'm sorry for angering you."
>>
>>24131175
"Because your parents fear us, Alex. That's why they tried to sewer your contact with me via moving you to Burer's Glyph. I do not know why do they fear us, but clearly they know more than any of us do."
>>
>>24131175
"I don't know, Alex. I'm inclined to believe that they were on the run from Armatek somehow. And they most certainly had a good reason, even if we don't know what it was.
Maybe you should call them?"
>>
>>24131175
"I'm sorry Alex, I didn't mean to upset you, but there's just so much about this that doesn't add up. Could we at least talk to your parents about this?"
>>
>>24131227
That is a terrible response and will just annoy him further. You really need to never offer suggestions in any sort of social situation in this quest.
>>
>>24131175
"It's like you've never watched a trid. Think about it, if they wanted to protect you, the first person they don't tell is you."
>>
>>24131048
"Parents lie to protect their children, Alex."
>>
>>24131175
"I don't know. Maybe they didn't. But either way I want to know what's going on."
>>
>>24131257
I think you need to shut the fuck up.
>>
>>24131289
Getting mad at me doesn't change the fact you apparently cannot comprehend basic social interaction.
>>
>>24131289
hes right though, your suggestions are usually horrible in any situation
>>
"It's like you've never watched a trid." You say. "Think about it. If they wanted to protect you, the first person they don't tell is you."
"My life is *not* a trid." He said. "Ellie's the only one that remembered it. Why wouldn't *I* remember the big car wreck? Why wouldn't you? If you don't remember it, why would Jilly be able to pull it out of your head? Maybe you're just looking for conspiracies and made one up subconsciously, I don't know. I'm not a psychologist, but I know my parents."
>>
>>24131289
Look who's talking, shithead.
>>
>>24131322
"Alex, I regularly forget what Copaki is called. I don't *know* what's going on for sure, but this is what things seem to point to right now.
Why don't you call your parents and ask them about it?"
>>
Alex, I don't know latin. If it was from my subconscious making things up it'd be in english.
>>
>>24131322
"Neither me or Jilly speak Latin, how could we have made that up? I don't know your parents, and I think we should at least talk to them about this."
>>
I think we're probably better off not discussing this further with Alex, just apologising and letting him go. He's obviously not going to accept it, and if we need to investigate, we're going to have to do it without him knowing.
>>
>>24131404
This. Alex has never been the most "understanding" of our compatriots. He's even more defensive than Anna when anyone mentions Demiurg.
>>
>>24131404
Pretty much this, but still mention the Latin. We're not going to change his mind like this. He needs to think about it on his own.
>>
>>24131404
True, especially since his parents have probably messed with his head in some way. For all we know he is literally incapable of comprehending them doing anything wrong.
>>
>>24131289
It's like you are actually autistic.
>>
"Neither me nor Jilly speak Latin." You say. "How could we have made that up? I don't know your parents, and I think we should at least talk to them about this."

He opened his mouth- and then paused. And closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. He put his hand up to his head.
"Alright." He said. "I'll trust you. And I'll talk to my parents, see what they know."
>>
>>24131470
"That's all I ask, thanks Alex."
>>
>>24131470
"Hey this wouldn't be the most unbelievable thing to happen to us"
>>
>>24131470
"Thanks Alex. I hope it really is nothing."
>>
>>24131452
>>24131347
Keep trying to make me mad. It won't happen.
>>24131315
Not in any. Just those involving social interactions including emotions.
>>
>>24131470
>"Thank you. I know it must be sort of a wierd thought, and I'm glad that you trust me. I wouldn't have asked if I didn't think it was important."
>>
>>24131512
So stop responding in social situations that include emotions?

Before you actually break something.
>>
>>24131512
if you know that then stop suggesting during social interactions.
>>
>>24131512
It's funny because basically the whole quest is social interactions.
>>
"Thank you." You say. "I know it must be sort of a weird thought, and I'm glad that you trust me. I wouldn't have asked if I didn't think it was important."
"No problem." He said, and squeezed your shoulder. "It's the least I could do. I owe you."

Jilly, Rho, and Isaac simply sat down, and continued eating pancakes- your pancakes, of course. You sigh and take your lunch pill.
"Hey, you ever get that drone finished?" Alex asked.
>>
i don't think we did. and speaking of drones I forgot to get Nissy's chemical sniffer installed as well! To the workshop!
>>
>>24131585
Uh, did we? Shit.
We will make him the most awesome drone ever right now.
>>
>>24131537
>>24131532
As >>24131564 said this whole quest is about social interactions. And keeping me away from those is like keeping me from playing this game. And because I want to play this I have only one thing to say : Fuck you.
I learn by trial and error. So you can bare with me, ignore my posts and enjoy Exa's writing.

You bang your head on the table.
"I am the worst friend." You say. "Ever. Of all time."
"No, no no. You're just forgetful. You've had a lot of things on your mind, after all." Alex said.
You bang your head again.
"It's fine. I still have Geralt back home." He said. "Speaking of back home... I think I'll stay longer, after all. Because if you're right about my parents, then... well, it might be smart to stay here."
>>
>>24131717
"Still, I'll start on your drone soon. Right now in fact! I bet I can finish it before dinner."
>>
>>24131717
"Would finishing that anti-psionics thingy help you feel more comfortable while you're here? I can try to fix it up myself after I set up sone stuff Omni has been waiting for."
>>

"In all dimensions."

Head, I believe you already know desk.
>>
>>24131764

>>
>>24131656
Alright, just don't get mad when people veto your posts.

That was kind of the point.
>>
>>24131717
We could go do that drone now.

Technopathic fugue state and all.
>>
>>24131717
Time to go build a drone, I think.
>>
"In all dimensions." You say, and bang your head again.
"But- but-" He was saying.
"I'll start on your drone soon. Right now, in fact!" You say, and spring to your feet. "I bet I can finish it before dinner."
"I'll help, I guess." Alex said. "I'm handier with a screwdriver than I used to be, in fact."

The two of you made your way to the workshop, and you pull up Alex's done- it was already mostly complete, just missing a few components and the casing. You put nearly an hour of work into it, while Alex feebly tries to help. (he didn't help much.) Soon enough, you were entirely done with the drone. With a tap, the ion thrusters started up, and it lifted into the air.

He tilted his head at it. "Looks like a brand new model of Einstein, really." He said. "What should I name it?"
>>
>>24131800
My point is that I don't see the error in my post. Therefore I only see people hating on me at random. And since I am learning, would you kindly tell why would the statement that she fears psionics annoy him?

Hey, I mentioned that we should've gotten Omni's stuff first but nooo.

Now that we've finished Alex's drone, we should build a new body for Omni! One with blackjack, and hookers!
>>
>>24132036
I can see how hooking things would be very useful but I don't think we should install a weapon.
>>
We can do Omni's upgrades after. I mean, we're already in the workshop and the tools are already out, why not just get it all out of the way so we don't forget again?

"Fredrick." Alex said. "His name is Fredrick." He said- then he pulled you into a warm hug, ruffling your hair. "Thanks, Heather. You're the best."

Then you turn to your workbench again... Time to make something for Omnissiah.

>What exactly do you intend on putting onto omnissiah's new body?

Best answer
>>
>>24132177
Arm, MIU, FutureUSB, FutureFirewire, FutureWireless, FutureEthernet
>>
Rolled 80

>>24132177
a new body, bigger haster with a pair of arms at least as articulate as a mans, and the equivalent of a wifi antenna and USB-Firewire-CAT5 cable

he WILL become something better for this transfer
>>
>>24132177
A wireless interface. And some hand-type things for holding and manipulating. And ion thrusters, for flying. And the cameras and stuff he already has.
>>
>>24132177
Extranet uplink capabilities, Future! Usb connectors+ports, a transmitter that we can later set up to control limbs at distance, and some form of manipulator so he can plug himself in (or prehensile cables)
>>
Quickly, you get to work, your hands blurring as you designed the drone body with your omnitool. You made it larger than Einstein, and not spherical- more similar to a maintenance drone, in truth. You give him two manipulators, powerful thrusters on the bottom, and a camera on the front. Then you give him several ports, and cables that extend from the ports in case he needs them to. Then you create enough space in the top for him, and get to work.

Almost three hours later, even with the maintenance drones' help, you have the basic shell done. You'd need to spend more time working on it, and Alex had wandered off while you were working.

"Hello." Sarvesh said, knocking on the doorframe with his pincer. "What are you making, if you don't mind me asking."
>>
>>24132177
He's going to have a robot arm with like... 27 joints. He'll have tri-stereoscopic vision, and 16x zoom and like 30000 colours.

He's going to get FUTUREusb, and wireless and even space for a quantum comm, if he buys one.

And don't forget the ION BOOSTERS and SPINY LEGS and FIRE BREATHING COFFEE MAKER.

Wait, how did that last one get there?
>>
>>24132177
Give him some manipulators, and maybe flight capacity in addition to his requested i/o slots. He seems to enjoy being able to pretend to be a drone at will, no need to make something obvious
>>
>>24132455

"We're making-" You say, and look around. Alex had vanished. "I'm making a shiny new robot body! For Nissy." You say. "It's going to be sexy as fuck. You should help."

"Strong words." Sarvesh said, and chuckled. "Let's get to work."

Another two hours later, the new shell was complete, shining. It was long-headed, swept back, and the ion thrusters lifted it easily. The manipulators could grab the cables in its back and plug itself into things.
"... You're right." Sarvesh said, chuckling as he buffed the robot with steel wire, scrubbing off spare sautering material. "This thing is sexy as fuck. I'm salivating as we speak."

"We have something for you." Sarvesh said in german, and his personacom translated it into english.

Closing up Omnissiah's new body, the eye in it whirred this way and that- and the projector started up, showing off a small light.
"Interesting." Omnissiah said, and careened into the wall as the ion thrusters slammed him that way. You'd made him sturdy, though, and he bounced right off, scraping against the ground. Then he hovered up... and unsteadily, carefully... hugged Sarvesh, and then hugged you.

As a group, all of you started filing down to the cafeteria proper. There was Summer, Anna, and Damien there, all eating. Damien did, of course, have a side of cookies to snack on.

"Okay." Summer said. "Get your food, and then I'll try."
>>
>>24133851
Snag one of Damien's cookies, then go get dinner.
>>
>>24133851
Get a mix of all different foods. It'll be like a picnic, I guess.

"If it gets too draining, just tell us!"
>>
>>24133851
Steal one of Damien's cookies. Right out of his mouth.

We need something big and filling. Vegetable soup! With dipping bread.

Don't forget to take our pill!

"Don't worry Sarvesh, I won't perform any main~te~nance on the drone while you're not around."
"Unless, you know, it get's all clogged up with sand and I have to clear our the Ion Tubes by hand."
>>
>>24133929
Fucking pervert, shoving your hands in a robot's ion tubes. Probably like it, whore.
>>
You grab one of Damien's cookies, and then grab whatever foods you could find, and keep your pill on hand.
"Don't worry, Sarvesh. I won't preform any... " You say. "Main~ten~nance on the drone while you're not around."
Sarvesh chuckled. "Have fun." He said.

"Alright, i'm ready." You say. "If it gets too draining, just tell us!"
"I will." Summer said. "I'll make it all stormy."

Then she closed her eyes... and you and Omnissiah fell into darkness.

At the last moment, you saw Damien pull up a different bowl- one of ice cream.
He'd hidden it, and used the cookies as a decoy!
He gave you a grin as you appeared on the beach, full of sun and sand.
Omnissiah kicked on his ion thrusters, and shot off toward the ocean.

>End of thread!
>>
>>24133961
That clever bastard, we'll have to exact revenge later.
>>
>>24133961
THE MONSTER. HE WILL PAY FOR HIS DECEPTION
>>
>>24133961
This was the best thread in a while. I'm not sure why. I think it's because I haven't slept in a while.

Gnight exabutt! Quest well!
>>
>>24133992
I agree, this was a damn good thread. Personally, I attribute it to the relative lack of argument amongst the players.
>>
>>24134010
Everyone calmed their shit on waifu/husbando issues and the "OMG WE CAN't TRUST OMNI" paranoia has worn off. Nothing left to argue about.
>>
who speaks Latin?
lawyers, clergy, and scientists
I think we can skip lawyers.
which leave me with two theories about Alex's parents.
they are either the last of the ordo malleus and are being hunted by "witches" or they're Lab techs that absconded with the friut of some psionics research
>>
>>24134062
It's the eye of the storm, it's only going to get worse once we have a lull in the plot and start discussing Heather's love life again.
>>
>>24134062
>"OMG WE CAN't TRUST OMNI"
that's always been Anna and her justified paranoia about the demiurg
>>
>>24134108
Can Omni even be considered Demiurg anymore considering how much he has altered himself and his programming
>>
>>24134087
>lawyers, clergy, and scientists
And Alex.
>>
>>24134108
Silly Anna.
They made him a slave since his birth, he's not a Demiurg
>>
>>24134962
Like the demiurg wouldn't enslave other demiurg.
>>
>>24134087
I'm personally betting on Alex's parents being scientists and Alex being "Alpha".
Or was there already an Alpha, which greek letters are accounted for?
>>
>>24135503
We don't know of any Alpha.
The list we got had ΔΕΘΛΡΣΨΩ.
>>
>>24136065
>dethlrspso
Not sure if conspiracious
>>
I'm guessing Alex could be Psi, the super-classified one.
