You are a human-form gargoyle crafted of marble set to protect a small town on the frontier of the wild darkness. Your people are still ignorant of what you are, and rightfully so.Knowledge of what you are would simply prove that they fear you or the monsters among them tempt your destruction.Last night: Tapping into the primal power of lightning, you vanquished the Greater Wendigo in the mountains. Taking in the soul of the monster you sought to gain more power, however you felt something... wrong.Speaking to the recently healed Black Gargoyle, The Shadow of Evidas, you find out the madness of the gargoyles, frequent consumption of souls lead to bouts of madness and corruption. With the monsters gone and your new.. 'friend' on his way back to his own perch, you begin to take your leave, however you feel an intense compulsion to seek out the object the Greater Wendigo had sought. Digging until day and then resuming into the night, you recovered a strange ring.Reporting back to your town after having been gone a day, you find that Pastor Clegane and a woman in waiting within the church. The frivolous woman is introduced as Victora Manse, the residing noble, and Regent of Hearthson. The closest thing you have to a master. The woman offers you a boon and speaks of assigning Pastor Clegane as your official caretaker. However she requests the ring, declaring that it is indeed hers.Awaken Gargoyle, the night is dark.
back to patrolling I believe. I don't think we have anything specific planned.
Unwilling to let the lady wait on her ring, you set down the Greater Wendigo's head and hand the ring over to her. With the same fox-like expression, she observes the ring carefully.Father Clegane's eyes go wide as she regards the object in the candle-light,"Lady Manse, what is that?"The women appears coy for a moment, however she decides to take him seriously," Father Clegane, you should know of this ring quite well."You speak up, curiosity taking hold," So it is indeed yours. I had intended for you or someone else trustworthy to examine it for me. The Greater Wendigo had a very strong compulsion to seek this out for its... 'masters.' Might you be aware of-""Why yes... How interesting... Seems that demons do indeed seek this ring. Well, it is in the proper hands as of this very moment." She flashes a disarming smile, "You haven't the slightest thing to worry your little marble head over 'angel,' keep up the excellent work, aside from allowing Pastor Clegane the grace..." The Pastor's expression deepens even further into a scowl, it seems he does not like this woman..." Of being your caretaker, I will bestow upon you a boon of your choosing. Granted, you are not a human, I may still fufill at least one of your desires, oh 'Angel of Hearthson." She says almost mockingly, yet it seems that she's serious about a boon...> Tell her that you would like to save the offer for another time.> Ask for information... (Write in)> Ask for assistance with Molly's dreams.> Bring up Relocation, and where. (Suggestion had been for inside the church)> (Other)
> Tell her that you would like to save the offer for another time.I believe this was the decision last time.

>>24079228I'd love to move inside the church, but I think we can get that without using the boon on it.Getting Holy White to go with it would be nice.

>>24079318Relocating inside is not related to the boon; its what we suggest to the Pastor... some copy pasta...Stone Mason:>"Milady, might I be able to request this boon in a later night if need be?">The woman flips her fan open and peers at you with scrutiny befitting of a noble, "Hmm... Yes... If that is what you wish, You may arrange this boon from me for another night. That is, if you cannot decide on anything for now.">You see the Pastor look to you, his features softening somewhat. He seems unwilling to speak freely...To which I replied with:>Thank her. Bring up relocating to the inside of the church to cover up missing from the roof for 24 hours. And then take up a pose and focus entirely on wrestling the new souls until she leaves, at which point talk to Clegane and Alice more freely.
>>24079228Yeah, another time.If there's more night left, do a patrol around the town. Otherwise, we need to speak to the pastor about getting a handle on ourselves.
>>24079375Oh. That would be a good idea.So long as it doesn't use the boon, lets get moved inside.
>>24079375We really should. Can't 'ave our villagers gettin' all worrisome on us, no can we?
To clarify a bit, the logic is we were missing during the day, if we disappear and reappear in same spot its suspicious, but if we appear in a different spot we were just relocated. Also when I said "bring up relocating" I was referring to earlier posts where I went into more details and how its not related to the boon. The "thank her" was for giving the boon and postponing it.Also she has already agreed to help us improve our control and has _ordered_ Pastor Clegne to be our caretaker. Both of those are in addition to the boon (since the first thing people asked for in a boon was help with control, to which stonemason clarified the above...See: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/24062070/#p24068169
You give Lady Manse a polite bow," I can think of nothing I have need of this night."Victora Manse smiles slightly before covering her mouth with a flick of her fan," Very well then, I will give you a week to decide should something come to mind. I cannot extend such a charity forever." She bows her head slightly as she dismisses you and Pastor Clegane."I will be going now, I thank you for retrieving this ring gargoyle, have a good night now." She keeps her eyes on you for a moment as she departs. At the door, she flips a fan, willing it to close and with another flick, opening it. The other side having changed. She steps through in haste and the door slams shut, creaking open and revealing the other side to be the same once more.Clegane finally speaks up," That woman and her entrances. She came here just minutes before your arrival... So, you mentioned an avalanche?""Yes, I had to collapse the snow-peaks to even the odds.""I truly wish it had not come to that, trade between Evidas and will be choked. We have a river to the sea but only so many boats... And shipment from across the sea takes so long...""I am sorry, at the time I was cornered. I lost most of my body at a time even after the avalanche.""And you are whole now?""Thanks to a soul I picked up."Pastor Clegane chuckles a bit at that,"Ah yes... I had forgotten. Fighting monsters with monsters. You speak so politely I mistook you for human. That will not do.""Pastor, I would like to speak with you about relocating inside of the church. I was absent the prior day, it may arouse suspicion."Clegane strokes his light beard in thought," I see.. So if someone had noticed, it would make more sense for relocation rather than an errant statue. . . Very well, if you move your pedestal, I will tell the people this. I am your... caretaker now after all... It'll keep me from having to clean bird shit off of you. . ."(cont)
"I... am most grateful."It then occurs to you that he had mentioned Alice perhaps being of some help and you run this by the Pastor."Alice... hmm.. Yes.. She is talented in the magic of the Fae. Talented in ways that would scare most people. . . However, she is rather scared of your kind. It will be her decision to help you."The Pastor begins to leave the church, likely returning to his own home.He stops at the door, looking at you from the corner of his eye."And Gargoyle, should you hurt her, there will be hell to pay."He leaves without another word. You sense Alice in the other room.> Patrol the town, this is a new night and you need to check for threats.> Rouse Alice and speak with her.> Check up on Genn, the mermaid in the lake.> Fly north to check on that Troll Corpse.> Check up on Molly.> Remain in the church for this night./Set to work on moving the pedestal.
Next post will also include Primal Heart and Control.
>>24079776>> Rouse Alice and speak with her. Also, how much xp are we at now? Still 5?
Circle the town once to see if you detect any obvious incoming threats, then if none are noticed move the pedestalIf we have time afterwards before morning we could talk to alice
>>24079776[X] Rouse Alice and speak with her.It won't take long and we may as well check on our charge.
>>24079814We chose to spend the 5 on primal heart (earthsense + big primal magic boost) and control (ability to distinguish friend from foe during berserk, slight boost to mental control)[X] move the pedestalWe should prioritize our own security. The easier it is for us to move around the better we can protect the town.Is it really gonna take all night to move the pedestal, though?
>>24079861No, however I included remaining within the church as there was concern for the instability of the Gargoyle's psyche. Where better to wrassle internal demons than in your home? Which also happens to be a church.
>>24079776If Alice is still sleeping, I would prefer not to wake her--we could do that near dawn, and we can be awake and aware during day, if we or she wishes to talk. So, moving the pedestal (muffling the sound, if we could do that) is best.
>>24079861Remember we spent a good portion of the night digging for the ring. Its not just after sunset anymore.>>24079884I did suggest earlier we just sit our ass down and focus ALL of our mental effort on wrestling the newly acquired souls. When we got the wendigo lord licked THEN we resume our duties.
>>24079776>move pedestalthen> Fly north to check on that Troll Corpse.BEst not to lose what little payment we have when next the boatman comes.
Finally, I have the free time / lack of sleep obligation to participate in this quest rather than just reading it on foolz later.>>24079776> Patrol the town, this is a new night and you need to check for threats. We really ought to do this, especially considering that we're not starting with a full night ahead of us, given the time we spent looking for the ring.
>>24079914Waking her just before dawn is workable... We could also try talking to her just after nightfall tomorrow.Anyways, when we do talk to her1. Explain to her we do not view mages as inhuman, and even if we did we decided to protect the friendly inhumans as well, only the hostile monstrosities.2. We could have a mutually beneficial relationship similar to what she has with the pastor.3. Does she know about fae who induces nightmares?4. Discuss what we know of the mechanics of gargoyles and if she knows any methods or magics to reinforce our fae derived mind.
Just throwing this out there again, we should try to get our hands on a piece of copper to direct our lightning with like the wiki says we can do.If we could get it in the shape of a crucifix that would be pretty damn ballin'.
>>24080006>>24080012Right now,1) Move pedestal2) Wrestle with souls and force them under control3) copper crucifixSounds good.
>>24080012I'm loving the idea of holy lightning.
>>24080054Yea. As for the copper crucifix, we could get one through our caretaker...Or we could make one ourselves once we get Earth Shape
>>24080106>>24080012Didn't the boatman have copper chakrams?
Are crucifixes even a thing in this setting?
>>24080113>copper chakrams>lightning frisbeeI think the crucifix has competition.
>>24080137Look, I think the cross is a kind of neat idea, but it's not at all practical. The chakrams are an actual weapon, and judging by the rest of the boatmans stock, probably -made- for magic conductivity.
Firefox crashed on me at the end... FML.Gonna summarize it.You move the primary slab that you stand on into the church, so that you are overlooking the pews from behind the altar. You consider what the Pastor had said about there being no god. You consider that you may see their prayers as prayers to you. What do you think of that?> Yes, I am their savior after all.> No, I am only their gargoyle.Aside, you see that the candles within the church are lit and that it has been dusted and fixed to some degree. You may want to attain wood for the villagers to speed these repairs. What will you do now?You still don't exactly feel alright.> Patrol the town, this is a new night and you need to check for threats.> Rouse Alice and speak with her.> Check up on Genn, the mermaid in the lake.> Fly north to check on that Troll Corpse.> Check up on Molly.> Meditate within the church.> (Other)In your lul, you use accumulated power to tap into the Primal heart of the old Forest Troll. You feel faint vibrations in the earth and feel more at home with natural surroundings. Your lack of control upsets you. With this in mind you put more presence of your own mind into your being. attaining enough control to at least differentiate friend and foe should you go berserk.
>>24080012We could ask the Stranger for a broad sword with a cross themed hilt. That would fit the 'Angel' image and still be a practical weapon.

>>24080485>Also, asking her to stop us would needlessly scare her. She is not able to stop us and we are trying to convince her that she is safe with usSeconded.
>>24080485You know what else would scare her? If we went nuts and tried to murder the shit out of her.She at least has the right to know "hey, I'm gonna do mental battle, and I might lose. So be prepared that I might go insane."
>>24080545>>24080526>>24080485Why not just meditate in a safe spot away from the church and other people?
>>240805451. In that case she should go hide not try to stop us.2. If we really thought that we have a chance of losing this we would do it out of town.We already asserted control, we are in control enough to GIVE AWAY the ring. The only risk is if we eat another demon soul before we finish beating this one down.
>>24080578Anywhere we can get to, we can get out of. Nowhere is truly safe.
>>24080545>I'm gonna do mental battle, and I might lose. So be prepared that I might go insane.>I'm gonna do mental battleWhere did you get that from? We're fine now, the worst has passed. We just want some Fae advice about avoiding future problems.
>>24080578We're a gargoyle that can sense life, and sense people through the wind. If we go berserk, being away from people isn't going to stop our warpath.
>>24080590If we are far from the town we are more likely to slaughter random animals and non hostile fae and the like then to fly all the way back to town...We could even go so far that our lifesense cannot detect the town.
So I'm guessing that you guys want to fly from the town and meditate? Could always go and check on the Troll corpse in the midst of that, it's rather far to the north, will that do?
>>24080672Let's do it.
>>24080672>So I'm guessing that you guys want to fly from the town and meditate?[x]Vote against. Our 'episode' from eating the wendigo soul has passed. We don't seem to be having any trouble right now. We need advice about preventing future problems.[x]Knock on her door and ask her advice. When we talk to her, we can ask about any pressing issues we should look into. If nothing is pressing, we should make time to check on the Troll corpse.
>>24080672Well, I think there is no risk of us losing control from meditating, only from eating another soul...But this is a good enough compromise so lets do that to get the ball rolling. We get to see the town from the air, a bit of the surrounding woods, check up on the troll corpse, and mediate, and be away from town in case we go berserk...
Just got here, can someone fill me in where we are at with this? Powers? Weakness? Contacts? Please and thank you

You shake off the notion of taking the prayers as if for yourself. You are no god, you are no Angel. You are a gargoyle and you need to act more like it.The Shadow of Evidas is your elder and he told you what you are... A guardian, a demon, a monster, and an angel. You are all of these things. With that in mind, you have business to take care of, reigning in the most recent monsters, and especially so for the Lord Wendigo. Despite not having an impulse to retrieve that ring, you do feel something at the edge of your mind that you could only call.. Hunger. Not enough to drive you mad in any case, however it's enough for you to feel concern. You will not be ruled by your prey. You pick up your old cloth, wrap it around your form and take off into the night, the wind is calm and the sky is empty. You circle around the south of Hearthson, observing, though moreso sensing the city watch. Nothing seems inherently odd this night, though you pick up a slight nervousness within the guard. You see that the hole in the Southeastern Palisade has been crudely mended, an upgrade from another night. It seems that it's still been rather slow work on that part and the guard is doubled at that point. You pass the docks and the lake, seeing only fishing boats this night. The stranger arrived on your second night and he claimed to return in a week's time. He will be back upon your 8th night.Three more nights until then.As you pass the docks in the east of town you set your course to fly to the northeast, heading toward the place where you had slain the troll. On your tailwind, you arrive upon the place, however not without having to take another look at it.It looks entirely different from how it had been before. The trees that had been rotten and pushed out of the way, the grass and flowers that had died, even the Troll's own body.. There are wildflowers and countless saplings springing from its corpse and its path.
>>24080890>The trees that had been rotten and pushed out of the way, the grass and flowers that had died, even the Troll's own body.. There are wildflowers and countless saplings springing from its corpse and its path.YAY
this message of regrowth after death should be inspiring for ourselves.
>>24080890Perhaps this could be used to increase the yield of our towns crops? Mention this discovery to the priest once we are home.
>>24080890Ooh... this being was a "Troll of the Wood" so a wooden growth from its corpse kinda makes sense.Anyways, this is a great place to meditate.
>>24080890>There are wildflowers and countless saplings springing from its corpse and its pathExcellent. Find a nice spot and let's wrangle that soul and make sure it's not going to play with our head.
>>24080981>Troll fertilizer.Interesting idea. Yeah, mention it when we get the chance.
The path that it had carved of wither and rot is now a strip of fertility. You feel as though this should indeed be the case. The troll was a primal being, a force of nature. You can't recall if you ever sensed malice from the creature or even thought at all. It simply moved, withered, grew, and now you see this..Perhaps... killing it was a mistake?> Yes, it was a mighty beast and a part of the land.> No, it threatened the town. It could have destroyed it.You stand upon a nearby rock and meditate, feeling the earth itself, the wind, and the overall life. Having recently tapped into the Primal Heart of this old monster, you feel ever closer to your existence as a force of nature. There are good and bad fae. There are primal monsters like the werewolf that seek out the destruction of humans... or perhaps it was retaliation? What have the humans done to the wolves as of late? You consider... demons... could there possibly be demons that are benevolent? You put these thoughts to the side. You cannot be distracted when your charges are threatened. You look inward, inside of your own body and feel the presence of the souls you have taken. From one area, you feel the ancient overgrowth of the Troll and the howl of a wolf. From that domain, you sense the small domain of the Fae, the soul of the Banshee being the first you had ever taken. And opposite from there, you feel the surging domain of demons, the whispers, cold, and hunger of the Wendigo being massed under one significant consciousness. You also feel humans within the domain of the demon, though they are faint in comparison. In your "inner" world, you may speak with, confront, or reign in any one of these souls. What will you do?> Investigate the domain of the Primal.> Approach the domain of the Fae.> Confront the surging domain of the Demon.
>>24081113[X] No, it threatened the town. It could have destroyed it.The town is our highest priority.[X] Investigate the domain of the Primal.Let's get in tune with the ones we're closest to before we attempt to lay the metaphorical smackdown on the Demons in us.

>>24080981We could just use the fertility spell. And there is only so much of the troll... >>24081958>>24081945I was actually rolling to attack.
>>24081968The legendary null die. I've only heard of it, I never thought it may actually exist.
>>24081956No, we're going to get our Primal and Fae sides in order then come back and make him our bitch.
Rolled 87Retreat, subdue other 2 realms starting with fae (a lone enemy). Then talk to alice and maybe the lady, get their help and try again.
Rolled 62>>24081986go figure.....I forget type in the damn 1.....
>>24081956He's got a 35+ bonus AND Stone Mason said the lesser wendigos are better shielded. I'd rather us gather our full strength than slam ourselves against a wall and waste time.I think consequences of outright failure may be a lot worse than letting him sit in our soul a bit longer. 35+ modifier is not good.
>those votes to retreatNothing says protector like pussying out and running away from the big bad bully in your mind.
>>24081994>>24081987You assume that's a possibility. Dangerous assumption.
Oh, a note about the three roll challenges in this. It's a best two out of three for overall victory. If you win one, you will lay in a strike of increased effect based on the diference, and vice versa.I figure this allows for accountable combat and gives an even ground for the antagonist and your MC. In the case of 3/3 win. It's moreso a well defended opposition, though if there's a high difference in values, there's like to be an attack that's quite heavy.
>>24082000An important part of poker is knowing when to fold 'em. What are you, lawful stupid?
I'm seeing a tie right now.Any swingers? In any case, retreat would be successful.
>>24082034More like Retardedly Chaotic>hue hue hue
>>24082048I'm thinking retreating would be smart now so we can subdue the other domains and come back to this one
>>24082078Once again. Assuming that's a possibility is a dangerous assumption to make. If we run now and he blocks us out, we're well and truly fucked, as we have no way to absorb souls, and likely lose our powers.
>>24082048Saying to fight seems like the character appropriate choice, but we should probably run after that shameful display of arrogance and impotence in the face of the wendigos.
>>24082093That could be a fun twist though, support running like a coward.
>>24082093How would the Wendigo Lord block us out? Did I miss something? I just got here and I've only read Stone Mason's posts.
>>24082093>If we run now and he blocks us out, we're well and truly fucked, as we have no way to absorb souls, and likely lose our powers. That's quite a few assumptions made by someone decrying assumptions.
>>24082093>blocking us out of our own soul>total game defeatWhat? He'll probably fortify himself in the meantime, but Stone Mason is a better DM than that.
>>24082141All I know is if we stay and fight, we either win or die on our feet. We run, we stand the chance of never getting another shot. This is not a battle we can afford to lose, or run away from.
Rolled 66Strategic retreat to collect your troops an attack an enemy's flank is not "running away in cowardice" its tactics.Remember when we "ran away" and seperate 5 wendigo underlings? how about when we ran away to come back riding an avalanche? Or when we ran away from that screeching fae and came back with a silver candle? etc.@Stone mason: Where are the souls of the mayor and his wife? you didn't mention them when we first surveyed this domain
>>24082140>Did I miss something? No. Nothing's been said to imply /anything/ that bad is going to happen if we retreat for now. He's just getting a bit panicky and making up 'What If?'s.
>>24082156We're not running. We're recognizing that we're at a disadvantage and moving to strengthen our position before continuing to attack.Sun Tzu, man. Always attack from an unassailable position.
>>24082179We punched him, he punched back, now you want to run away because we didn't expect him to fight back. This isn't the goddamn playground, we need to stand and fight.
>>24082179Where are the mayor and his wife? Well... isn't that curious...
You repel the converging consciousnesses within the domain of the demon, retreating and backing out as the Wendigo Lord echoes out through the inner realm with laughter."Do well to know your place! ... Friend...." The Lord whispers as you leave the realm of the demon, only to see it begin to spread further and begin to spill over into the other two domains. It seems you've uncorked something, or the Lord Wendigo has decided to take a true offensive upon you. Either way, it would be prudent to make haste in reigning the other domains. . .> Enter the domain of Fae.> Enter the domain of Primal.
>>24082211They're somewhere in the mess of this Wendigos..> Asker of thread archives is here.

>>24082233>wendigo is fucking us overFucking called it. And you idiots thought running was a good idea.Head for Primal. We lose that, we're even more fucked than we already are.
>>24082233>Huehuehue wendigo fucks your shitGo primal. We can't have the wendigos take over that hulking mass of troll and werewolf
>>24082233ah motherfucker.Fae might be good. Controlling our mind is probably a good thing. However, we have stronger souls in the primal region (werewolf and troll). They might provide stronger backup.[X] PrimalUnless anyone has a good counterargument.
>>24082211We are made of Primal, Fae and Demonic magics. If we consume a soul that doesn't fit into one of those categories.... Fuck. That's why Shadow took a complete bitch-fit about us eating the half-wendigos.If they weren't fully converted they might not go where they belong and.... Fuck.
>>24082278This is a decent argument changing my vote to Primal
>>24082293He already mentioned a few humans buried in along with the demons.I'm starting to think Fae might be the way to go. 1 soul, alone, easy to quickly subdue. Then we hop over to Primal?
>>24082318>>24082278>>24082300aaaaarrhrhghghgg I can't decide.I'll stick with my first thought, [X] Primal
>>24082233>[x] Enter the domain of Primal.More souls in this realm. More to gain if we act now. More to lose if the Wendigo takes it first.
>>24082271Hold the I told you so's.it was obvious to everyone that there are repercussions to failing to assert our authority. We just realized it would be EVEN WORSE if it wins outright.

>>24082391When we go after the souls in Primal can we go after the weaker one first like the Werewolf? If the Lord Wendigo hadn't gotten the +35 bonus the difference between our rolls overall would still have been in the Lord Wendigo's favor but it wouldn't have been 65 greater only 30 greater.
You look between the domain of the Fae and the Primal. It is a tough decision, your mind over your body. But with a glance at the creeping domain of the demon, you enter the domain of the Primal.Around you, you feel the same peace and tranquility as you felt outside of your body. THe earth, wind... The forces of the earth. The Werewolf from your first night and the Troll from your third night exist before you.The Werewolf appears as a feral spirit, mixed of Wolf and man, a beacon of ferocity."You... What is it that you want now? You draw upon my power as it is, what more do you desire, monster?"The Troll towers over you even within this realm. It appears as a Tree with branches spreading out far and wide, its roots planted deeply. With old eyes, its spirit regards you without malice.> Request their aid against the Wendigo.> Subdue the two of them. First Troll, then Werewolf.> Subdue the two of them. First Werewolf, then Troll.> (Other)Write in anything you'd like to say in any case.
>>24082494request their aid
>>24082494>[x] Request their aid against the Wendigo. If they resist.>[x] Subdue the two of them. First Werewolf, then Troll.
> Request their aid against the Wendigo.I indeed come for your aid. Demons await within me and subduing them has grown dificult. Their hunger shall grow within me and I wish to stop it before it does harm to those I protect. No harm in trying to diplomize them before anything else.
>>24082494[X] Request their aid against the Wendigo.I realize the extent of my imposition. But know this: if we do not act, you will no longer be subject to me, but to a fierce demon, a wendigo attempting to subvert my own soul. If it wins, it will rip the forests you both so love to shreds and bury them in ice. I require your aid.">hivemind for the forces of good!
>>24082494"You have two options. One, you help me subdue the demons that are currently trying to take over this Domain, or Two, you sit here and become their slaves."
>>24082494>> Request their aid against the Wendigo."Unless you want to get fucked by an avalanche of wendigo you're going to help."
Whelp, we ain't making it out of this night sane...
>>24082574no sir, no we are not lol
>>24082494Have to call it quits for the night. Good session op. Anons, remember to shatter ourself as a last resort before the wendigos take over completely.
>>24082633>Not cutting out a spiral shape so the remaining pizza looks like a lolipop.

"Indeed, I come for your aid. I realize the extent of my imposition, however demons have stirred within me and subduing them has grown difficult."The Werewolf growls," And what concern is this to me?"The Troll continues to regard you silently."Should they win out, they will bury your home in ice and snow. Your wolves will die from a midsummer blizzard, and the trees of the land will be destroyed by the frost they bring.I beg you to lend me aid with haste, there is no time to waste. The werewolf growls,"You have killed those of my pack. Swear that you shall never harm them again, and swear that you will provide food for them if need be. My aid comes with taking them on under your protection."The Troll still says nothing.Do you accept the Werewolf's conditions?Or will you waste time fighting him?> Accept.> Refuse.

>>24082732"Should they cause no harm to the village, I see no problem with this arrangement."
>>24082732"If I help your wolves, may I communicate with them with your help? I only wish to defend our charges, and any wolf attacks would hinder that. So, make haste; If I'm to protect your wolves, whom I shall now consider apart of my domain to defend, we need to subdue these Wendigos."

>>24082893>Trying to convince a guardian of wolves, wild and free, to submit his charges to domestication.Yeah, that's going to go over real well.
>>24082887.. True. But we need to save the Fae..I'm assuming the Werewolf and the Troll won't be total pushovers to the Wendigos.Also... Lets find the Mayor and his Wife afterward. DAMN GOOD THING that we didn't consume that boy..
>>24082922I wonder where he would have ended up? Would he have opened a new area? Started creating a soul for us? But yeah, good thing he isn't here to get curb stomped.
>>24082920>>24082893Yeah I would go with more of a 'territorial respect' deal on that.Speak his language, right?Honest friends and companions, not servants, are what we need for all of this to succeed.
>>24082993It'd been interesting, but.. I think, like the Mayor and his Wife, they're somewhere in the Wendigo horde..We ate too many of them, and now were getting soul-indigestion. We ate too many fatty demons, and we need more Fibrous Primal and good ol' Vitamin Fae..
"So long as they bring no harm top my charges, I will mediate between them. With your assistance, I would speak with them. Agreed."The Werewolf seems to concede, "With my body gone, this is all that I may do now for my pack." The feral spirit bows its head. The Troll continues to say nothing... and then it nods.A small gesture, yet nonetheless, you feel its support. You depart from the realm with the verdant power of the Primal domain reaching out and pushing against the creeping frost and malice of the demonic domain. The frost has not yet reached the domain of Fae.You hastily enter the warped and odd domain of the Fae.Among the twisting, swirling energies you witness the ghastly form of the Banshee and feel the souls of two humans further within this realm. The Banshee regards you, whispering," The wolves attacked... And they killed the boy. I tried to warn them... My children... Where have they gone? Now 'they' have entered this realm of mine." The ghastly creature stares at your inner body. "Why did you bring those murderers here?"The Banshee seems.. confused, yet also coherent as opposed to the Troll."They should be with the demons, they deserve the torture, why are they within this domain, I... Oh my... Was I your... First?"This... may get a touch tricky. The spilling energy from the demonic realm begins to spill over into this one.The power of the Primal enters just the same and keeps it at bay."And now the demons... they come here..."> Request the Aid of the Banshee... and the "others" here.> Subdue the Banshee> Fight the Wendigo now.> (Other)

>>24083081Hindsight is 20/20. Now we know.
> Request the Aid of the Banshee... and the "others" here.Indeed they come. They are strong and I have eaten too many too fast. I require aid of you so I may protect my charges. There is a child who looks to me and sees holiness. I do not wish to become another demon in the night to her.

>>24083167>I just assumed he was too busy. There is indeed that too.
>>24083152This, the banshee influence I assume wi hit us with her nedpgative mental trait, but we've already fptaken hits from primal. We aren't letting the necromancers influence us, we'd end up sacrificing the whole town.
>>24083152> I reject them from the hivemind.Glorious. Also, OP: will we be able to communicate with our captured souls out of meditation? Like, we could think to them for advice and they respond in kind..Also, we need to learn the names of the Banshee(if she's up to it), the Werewolf, and the Troll...
>>24083081I noticed that. I just didn't know why.I put it down to him being rabid and kill-crazy. Rushing off to kill more rather than stopping to feed.
>>24083211It may become possible, however that also involves letting them having a touch of freedom. Out of meditation, it is like to be more difficult as they can simply ignore you.
>>24083046> Request the Aid of the Banshee... and the "others" here."Those two...dabblers perhaps belong where they are: fiends in life and exiles in purgatory. But this is not the time for that. The demons still come, and I will need your help to repulse them. What say you, sidhe?"

>>24083241If they provide sound advice, it'd be like having a hivemind ADVISING THE /tg/ HIVEMIND. And we're only assholes to Demons inside our domain.. Or, and dumb Humans.I still wanna ask the Fae her name.
Seems like from all this that so long as we can muster the will to keep everything in check, we can become as powerful as we want.I mean, sure, it might not be the healthiest thing to eat EVERYTHING, but if we play it right, it won't become a serious physical problem. The wendigo will fall in line - once everyone knows who the top dog is, they will keep it all going provided we show no weakness.
You interject into the woman's strange ramblings."They have entered this realm because I consumed them for what they did. You are here because, in your fury, you raged out of control. >>24083336> Yes.I would prefer to not give them to the demons, however: they may have weak spirits but I don't like the thought of the Wendigo Lord doing something to them that would make either it or them stronger. Could we throw them outside the boundaries of any partition?
>>24083415Could always throw them in with the Werewolf and Troll. Though that may piss the two of them off.

The demons hold fast and begin push back the forces of Primal and Fae steadily however with your added might, the table shifts. With a hard push, you even the field, and with the assistance of your old enemies, you balance the power struggle and with a resurgence, you push all of the demonic influence back into its own domain.Forcing it back and further back. We are not going to destroy any of them, just subdue those who we find distasteful, and entice those who we can convince reasonably. Protecting children, forests, and some wolves are fine.
>>24083863It didn't really do anything the others didn't do. The banshee fucked with our head, the werewolf fucked with our head, the troll...well the troll made us feel a little funny, but still. It makes sense that the Wendigo Lord, being way more powerful than the others would have a greater effect on us.
You subjugate the Wendigo Lord, stealing away its will with the help of the other souls. You suddenly feel a burden lifted from your spirit as this has been resolved. Nothing more threatens to Overtake you...However, with the soul of the Wendigo Lord bound before you, there are questions to ask."Who are your 'Masters?""My masters? They are the Major demons that cannot come into this world.""Why did you seek out that ring?""The Ring is the Seal of Solomon. A king of humans that bound many Major demons by trickery, magic, and contract.">It has answered two of your most outstanding questions. Do you have any more?
>>24083936AWWW SHIEEETEither the woman from earlier is legit, or we just delivered our own undoing to our own worst enemy.NEW OBJECTIVE - FIND DA BITCH!
>>24083936>seal of Solomon>seal of motherfucking Solomon>The. Fucking. Seal. Of. Motherfucking. Solomon.No. No no no. No no no no no no. No. No. It has to be fucking destroyed. That shit aint fucking kosher. We are not letting anyone have the fucking true name of God.
>>24083936How does the ring work, including negative effects on humans that used it? What happened to Solomon? How did you come into the world, and why did you attack the caravan?
>A king of humans that bound many Major demons by trickery, magic, and contract.I wonder if we count as demonic enough to be bound by this... Also we could use it ourselves rather then destroy it.However, it might be premature to summarily execute her, we need to verify actual duplicity.
We should eat the ring.
>>24083990Every magical being is subject to the seal, if it follows the real legend, but that's metagaming.
>>24083993Snapple?Nah, nevermind.Snapple suggests way better than that.
>>24083993It would be the safest route. You don't fuck with anything that Solomon even looked at, let alone owned. Especially if you're a spirit.
>>24083993I came here to eat rings and chew bubblegum. And I'm all out of gum.
The seal of solomon is worth discussing with the father, later on.We should ask the wendigo for general info about demons. Weaknesses, strengths, reproduction (infection, etc), notables, and hierarchies. (Stone Mason, you don't have to write it all out, we could just get knowledge on a need to know basis as we progress).OH! and definitely ask wendigo if he knows the location of any other demons around :). Surprise, eat, subdue, hurrah!I want to see if we could carve up a territory of "humanity" is us where human souls get drawn to. There are only 2 now, likely those who follow would be evil humans which are dominated, or volunteers.
>>24084074> Eating ANY more demon soulsHow about no.>>24083936I wanna talk to that Troll soon. His silence is.. Intriguing.>>24084037Nice. Snapple would be proud.
>>24084132>being afraid of demon soulsHow about, that's fucking stupid?Judging by what the banshee said, having more spirits in an area keeps it centered.
>>24083964The Ring can only be destroyed at the place it was created.. Right? Just to be safe. So, we're waltzing into Mordor soon?
>>24084132Why not? I explicitly said to do them one at a time and subdue them immediately.
"How does the ring work? Including any negative effects it may have upon humans.""My Masters have spoken little of its implications. However the contracts assigned to the ring will activate should the bearer be qualified.""I see... and what happened to Solomon?""His kingdom was of long ago. However it has carved the path of Humans that you see today. With the fall of God, we thought to take humans by enthralling their king. He had already made dealings with the Fae outside of our knowledge. With their aid, he tricked the lords of hell into contracts with the ring.It was thought to have been lost, even as we took up footholds in this world to seek it out. With its power in the.... 'right hands' the major demons, my... old masters.. could enter this world once more...""Enough about this ring. How did you come into this world, and was the attack upon the caravan about this ring?"The demon is silent for a moment," I came into this world many moons ago with my brothers as humans lost in the mountains were driven to eat human flesh by our kin... I was hungrier however, I required more. So I devoured other Wendigo to satisfy myself. By the time I had feasted to full... My body was great, powerful, and... amazing... The caravan held the ring. I smelled it's magic and felt that I should retrieve it."
>>24084151>having more spirits in an area keeps it centered... Uhm.. Are you suggesting we balance out the demon souls with Fae and primal ones when/if we get new demons souls? Cause I sure hope so..(I don't get what you're saying, 2 a.m. here.)
>>24084160Nightly confusion, sorry.
>>24084183The Banshee is the soul Fae of that partition so she commands that entire domain. However, it also stands that if there were more Fae within that realm, it would be more powerful overall.
>>24084212Sole* not soul. in the soul with the soul... heh...
Any more questions for the monster? Or are we done with meditation now?
>>24084212Gotcha. Continue. Or take us to speak with the Troll.
>>24084237Done. Let's go talk to the wolves and make sure they know to stay away from the town.
>>24084183think what he means is that more of them would more strongly define, and thus separate them from the other types.Tons of demons get their own little hell, and stay in it - just a few don't make a plane, so they get antsy and try and have ALL off everything be their section.Plus, more primal and fae would help keep a good balance.DEMONS, FAE, AND NATURAL SPIRITS!ALL PART OF A BALANCED BREAKFAST, KIDDIES!!!
>>24084237We're good. Detrance, make sure we didn't lose a day or two.
>>24084255Demonic Protein, Primal Fiber, and Fae Vitamins. Thanks for explaining! >>24084237Troll please, then Forest wolves.OH and test inner telepathy with the Werewolf when we get out.And get their names. (Troll and werewolf)
>>24084255>balanced breakfastAll my thisAnyways, if we're done with the cannibal demon, shall we go try and talk to the troll? I dunno, seems pointless as its an ancient spirit of the woodlands, probably has lots to tell but nothing to say so to speak.I think it's time we find the wolves, lay down that diplomacy shit then check on Alice. Also, namefagging because why not I came up with the silver/brass supermajik gargoyle idea everyone ignored :(
>>24084327Ah, I wanted to say something about the silver/brass gargoyle. It would essentially fail at demonic magic and have difficulty in berserking. and overall it would be silver plated with the rest of the core being brass.
>>24084348Why does this make my imagine a Gargoryle Chandelier? All silver and rich looking..He lights your house at your night, keeping the Boogeyman away..>>24084327
You leave the conquered realm of the demon and open return your sight to the physical world around you.Tapping into the souls that you have befriended, you speak first to the werewolf.'I will keep my promise to you. The wolves shall be protected. I am The Angel of Hearthson. What is your name?''Break your word and there will be hell to pay, monster. . . My name among the wolves would be "Alpha." It is my grudge to request that you call me "Beta" or some other name of your choosing."> Call the Werewolf Beta.> Dub him something else.
>>24084382I loled at this, bling-bling swag gargoyle. Can we get a medieval OBEY cap here?>>24084348We coulda used HOLY magic? But seriously, I like the marble angel we're running right now, but all this primal/demonic? When we gonna get some fae love?
>>24084425Uuhh... Wolfie.Demeaning name, HO!(Don't do this, I'm tired and silly.)Beta makes me think of the /b/ feels threads..And it doesn't fit the werewolf at all.I don't really care, I just wish he had an actual name..
>>24084425Beta is fine.Or Jacob
>>24084425We shall dub him "Wolfy McWolf of the Wolfing Wolves"But seriously keep calling him alpha, might as well be a bro
>>24084484I like calling him Alpha, bahaha..>>24084480... Twilight... Reference?...> MFW I almost did that.
>>24084500>Someone picked up on the twilight reference in under 2 minutes.
>>24084425BEST NAME EVAR.Alfalfa. We can call him "Sprout" as a mocking nickname sometimes. "Try and keep up, Sprout!"
> thinking of totally random names now.M.C. Hammer?Fluffikuns?Dog?Obama?Moot? OOOH.. we're calling somthing Moot.
>>24084515I almost made the same joke, baha.
>>24084534The troll can be Moot if he doesn't have a name, because Ent Moot!Tolkien gives the best excuses for everything!
>>24084570Lol, I like it!>>24084425> Mfw letting us name the werewolf would've taken a solid 30 minutes at any other time.
'I will refer to you as Alpha for now. It is still your place among the wolves. Even as a part of me.''I... That is rather noble of you, monster. I shall give instruction to my pack when next you come across them. This dealing requires our combined cooperation..''Agreed. I will call upon you when a wolf is encountered next.'With the Werewolf quieting, you speak out to the Troll. You hear nothing, yet see flashes of images... Images many seasons and wandering alone. It has no words for you... You may name it if you wish... Or let it be. Kind of morbid, hm? Killing things, taking their souls, and naming them?
>>24084624Hey, we were simply asking for what they called themselves. The eating is totally separate..OH! What's the Fae's name? And as we chat with her, lets find some wolves..
>>24084624They still exist within us, might as well be civil. And I'm gonna go with moot for the troll, because REASONS
>>24084624Cellos. Call it Cellos.
>>24084624Just call it "Troll", or maybe "Gramps"?
>>24084663Why?I mean, I like it, but I'm curious as to why it applies?
>>24084624Morbid? Naw, it's adorable. Let's call the Troll Treetree.Honestly, I don't think it need a name for now. Maybe later, when we have to differentiate it from other Trolls.
>>24084682It sounds suited to a large ancient being.
>>24084624>Kind of morbid, hm? Killing things, taking their souls, and naming them? It's like that kid that strangles a rabbit and keeps it under his bed, petting it each night."I love you Mr. Fluffers". *Long too-much-force-petting*"You and me withh be friends forever!" *Bone-crunchingly hard hug, compressing the partly decomposed corpse into his chest*"forever" he whispers slowly into the warped fur, smiling with a look of true contentment as Mr.Fluffers hangs limp and lifeless in his arms and he nuzzles his face into the lifeless mess.
>>24084624CALL IT MOOT!IT'S LIKE AN ENT, kinda, AND WE NEED SOMETHING TO CALL MOOT!
>>24084699Yeah, Moot works.
>>24084695..Oh My Sweet Black Baby Jesus..P-purge?...
>>24084699>>24084720>>24084657>>24084624He is now Moot. Why? Because all conversations with him are moot, since he cannot into words.
>>24084737Null sounds better.
While I do like fun, I'm not really for calling it Moot.I do appreciate Cellos and Gaius.
>>24084750Nah, that implies that the troll provides nothing whatsoever, that it's mind is a void.
>>24084759How about Müt?
>>24084759Just imagine how many future readers would be confused at the Troll's name..Glorious..Cellos is fine. Or just leave him nameless, whatever works.
>>24084779Pronounced the same at Moot, I assume? My support is here.
>>24084779Don't have the key for that. and alt-coding it would be a bitch.I do like how it looks though.
>>24084802Yeah, it would be the same pronunciation
>>24084809Copy/paste it all the time? And it also kinda looks like Mute as well..
>>24084759I don't really like those names. Don't feel right somehow.>>24084802Actually, Müt would sound more like myt. Mut however sounds like moot. It means courage/valour in german.
>>24084826Mut is a scraggly, mixed breed dog in English though.
>>24084826Disregard that. I don't know what language it is supposed to be so I don't know how you want to pronounce it. It would be myte or something like that in german though.>>24084848It would have been an appropriate name for wolfie then?
>>24084809>>24084654Fae and Wolves next.
>>24084866Calling something a mut is a very weak insult.
Ok, so we are now stuck naming the troll.Just call it 'The Troll'.I mean, unless we get another one, it shouldn't ever become an issue, right?
Many names swim around in your mind from latent knowledge that you've taken in, however no clear names come to mind. You give up on naming the Troll for now. It isn't all that much of a talker anyway... It's fine this way.You tap into the realm of Fae after dismissing the Troll. You had cast the two humans into the realm of the Demon within you, so the Banshee should be happy now... You should find her name as well.'Oh, hello there. You're paying attention to me? How silly, especially after you've eaten me. At the very least, I was your first.''Yes. Yes, you were my first.''And you admit it. Well. What do you want?''What is your name? I am the Angel of Hearthson.''The name of your first is Cari. Do well not to forget it. Anything else you'd ask of me? Oh, and don't forget to protect the children. That poor girl...'> Ask Cari questions.> Seek out the wolves before the night ends.> Return to town.> (Other)
>>24084876Sorry, I thought that calling it something which sounds like moot, means courage and looks like mut if written down (which the wolf would never find out, I assume) was funny.
>>24084952>That poor girl.."You speak of Molly? Do you have some idea of how to help her?"
Nodding off here. If I can get a consensus, I'll start next session with the next post.I'm not sure when I'll do this again. I need to find out my schedule. It'll likely be Sunday. I'll post the time up on the discussion thread at http://tgchan.org/kusaba/questdis/res/69289.html#69425
>>24084952Walk and talk, She has a nice name.. Tell her that.Say that we'll talk with her later, we have some wolves to diplomasize, and we might as well check on Molly as well as we head back..Not that it matters
>>24084984Awesome Mason! So, SEEK OUT DEM WOLVES. We'll talk with Cari as we head over.
>>24084952>I-it's not like I like you or anything, angel-kun...
>>24085004>>24084985What will you say to Cari, aside from >>24084971"You speak of Molly? Do you have some idea of how to help her?"
